OMFG WTSF!!! WHO DARED ANYONE PUT THIS OUT INTO THE UNIVERSAL!
From: GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT > Movies & TV
Alicia Vikander Makes An Amazing Captain Janeway For Star Trek: Voyager Reboot, artwork of Alicia Vikander as Captain Janeway for a potential Star Trek: Voyager reboot and the Swedish star looks like a great replacement. By JONATHAN KLOTZ | UPDATED 19 HOURS AGO
We humbly suggest Alicia Vikander as her replacement for a new Star Trek: Voyager series. The star has demonstrated a wide range of characters in her career, from Lara Croft to Gloria Steinem (peruse her IMDB for the full extent), making her a great fit for the tough but compassionate Kathryn Janeway. Giant Freakin’ Robot staff wondered what this would look like, so we ran it through an AI artwork generator, and the result is amazing.
A future version of Voyager was involved in the series, proving pivotal in getting the ship back to Federation space, setting up Kate Mulgrew to reappear as Admiral Janeway, while Seven of Nine is now part of Star Trek: Picard. What if Alicia Vikander and the possible reboot followed the future ship from a timeline that never saw them return?
And this where I lose my collective shit! Ok first things first and I'm sorry to point out the obvious but can I start with fact Alicia Vikander doesn't even resemble Kate Mulgrew in any way! Then there's the fucking fact of if Paramount was going to reboot Voyager for some reason, which I highly doubt...WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU HAVE SOMEONE BESIDES KATE MULGREW PLAY KATHRYN JANEWAY!!!! I mean seriously is it an age thing, or their completely stupid thing? Because no one and I mean no one can play Janeway better or ever come close to Kate! She knows Janeway's character inside and out. I may not agree 100% with everything she believes about Janeway however no one else is basically Kathryn Janeway. Two pieces of fan art be damned it doesn't mean shit! Which if you want to see them you'll have Google them because I will not put that blasphemy on my page!! This just pisses me off, where is it coming from? When we all know Kate would be more than happy to take up the role of Janeway again and has in Star Trek Prodigy. So if they did a reboot of Voyager I have little doubt she would be willing to play Janeway in that. Also we don't need a reboot of Voyager! We got 7 season of the original with Kate Mulgrew, Jeri Ryan, Roxanne Dawson, Robbie McNeill, Robert Picardo, Tim Russ, Garrett Wang, Ethan Phillips and Robert Beltran. Go watch the original for crying out loud! What I want to see is a Janeway series like Picard got. That would be amazing to see. To see Kate reprise her role as Kathryn Janeway, have her go on new adventures and go more deeply into her character in a way they never truly did on Voyager.

Mallards Unable to Hold the Rush
MOLINE, IL – There was a battle for 26th place in the ECHL on Wednesday night between the Rapid City Rush and Quad City Mallards. The Mallards held the penultimate place in the standings by only one point before the match up began, and with contests against the Kalamazoo Wings and Cincinnati Cyclones this weekend, the Mallards needed to win to attempt to hold that spot.
Fireworks began shortly after the opening faceoff, as former Mallard Garrett Klotz and Travis Armstrong dropped the gloves in the Mallards’ defensive zone after the Rush player had said hello to Quentin Shore by delivering a hard check into the boards. Both combatants fell to the ice and then returned to their feet to continue the tilt, Armstrong pumping the crowd up as he skated to the sinbin afterwards. Klotz also attempted to pump the crowd by mirroring Armstrong’s raised arms gesture, but the effort was met with considerably less applause.
Ryan McGrath almost ended the shut out at 8:45 after going on a breakaway after coming out of the box. He streaked up the ice along the half-boards, cutting left to try to beat Christian Frey on the glove side. McGrath couldn’t get the puck in the air, however, Frey kicking his foot out as he lay sprawled on his stomach to make the save.
It would take another almost nine minutes for the first goal to be scored, Matt Pohlkamp putting the Mallards on the board with help from Chris Izmirlian and Alex Globke. Pohlkamp shot from the low slot, the puck hitting the inside of the crossbar over Frey’s head before bouncing back out.
The teams looked evenly matched in the first period and through much of the middle frame as well, but things turned south for the home team quickly. A bounce that appeared to go off of Tommy Muratore’s skate found the back of the net behind C.J. Motte, tying the game at one apiece. Aaron Boyd was the last Rush player to touch the puck, and therefore was credited with his first goal of the season.
The ultimate period between the two teams for the foreseeable future was all Rapid City’s game. Another bad bounce gave the visitors their first lead of the night, as the puck bounced over Motte’s left shoulder after deflecting off of Willie Raskob’s stick in front of the crease.
Klotz returned to the penalty box very briefly midway through the third period after being given a five minute major for charging Globke at center ice. As soon as Klotz sat down in the box the referee told him he was done for the night, and he was not happy about it. He yelled at the referee before being escorted off the ice, slamming a puck into the boards on his way to the door, Klotz also was given a ten minute game misconduct on top of the five minute major.
The Mallards did a poor job on the extended power play, only amassing two shots on net the entire five minutes of the man advantage. Neither team was successful on their respective power plays throughout the night, however.
The Mallards pulled Motte in an attempt to even the score and go in to over time, but as often happens there was an empty net goal scored by the leading team. Peter Sivak put the nail in the coffin, and 25 seconds later Brayden Sherbinin also added a tally from the visitor’s blue line.
Even with an ECHL club record 54 shots, the Mallards were unable to get more than one puck past Frey. Motte faced 40 shots throughout the night, stopping 37 of them.
The Mallards will take on the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday at 7:05 CDT at the TaxSlayer Center. It will be the final $2 Beer and $2 Hot Dog Night presented by 97X. The Mallards will then close their season on Saturday against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Explosive line brawl erupts in ECHL game, includes fighting goaltenders
Tumblr media
GOALIE FIGHT!
Full line brawls are a rare sight in hockey. Even more so when they include goaltenders from both teams. That was what we got from the ECHL on Saturday, when a line brawl was sparked late in a game between the Toledo Walleye and the KC Mavericks.
The Walleye came away with the eventual 5-0 win, but not before tensions absolutely boiled over between the two teams. It didn’t take long for a full line brawl to erupt, and an even shorter time for both goaltenders to jump in and take on each other.
HERE IT IS: FULL VIDEO OF THE WALLEYE VS. KC BRAWL -- EVERYONE INVOLVED INCLUDING THE GOALIES. pic.twitter.com/yLg645d9Me
— Jordan Strack (@JordanStrack) February 11, 2018
The brawl was sparked after Garrett Klotz of the Mavericks took his stick to the back of Walleye A.J. Jenks. Klotz took more than a few extra whacks at Jenks, prompting swift retribution from the team
Here is what started the entire brawl: An absolute cheap shot by Garrett Klotz on AJ Jenks. Almost the exact same thing that happened to Simon Denis last year. Unbelievable. Plus the replay of the goalie fight. pic.twitter.com/g13aQaYp0f
— Jordan Strack (@JordanStrack) February 11, 2018
The goaltenders, however, were the real star here, as the pair squared off while the remainder of the fights were starting to wind down. The two goaltenders separated before things could get even more heated, but the damage was done.
Quite the exciting mid-February ECHL match!

SpaceX launches historical objective flying NASA astronauts to space
SpaceX has successfully introduced into orbit its first human passengers: NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley Behnken and Hurley could invest up to 110 days in space after they reach and dock with the International Space Station.
Garrett Reisman, a former astronaut who worked on SpaceX’s Dragon automobiles, said success for Demo-2 might stimulate a golden age of commercial spaceflight.
CAPE CANAVERAL– In the middle of the risk of rain and lightning on Saturday, one of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rockets heaved itself off the ground at 3: 22 p.m. ET with a thunderous holler of flames, smoke, and dust.
Then, about 12 minutes later on, a fairly small payload popped off the top of the 23- story launcher while moving close to 17,500 miles per hour, slipping the spacecraft into low-Earth orbit.
However, this payload is unlike anything the world has seen: a privately developed business spaceship called Team Dragon, which is bring SpaceX’s first human travelers– NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley
Shortly before their historical crewed space launch, the first from American soil since July 2011, the males shared ceremonious words from SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spaceship over the radio.
” It is absolutely an honor to be part of this huge effort to get the United States back in the launch organisation,” Hurley stated, minutes before liftoff.

The flight not just reanimates American crewed spaceflight for NASA, but also opens a door for SpaceX to help advertise area.
The NASA administrator, Jim Bridenstine, became emotional while providing remarks after the crew reached orbit.
Elon Musk, who founded SpaceX in 2002, revealed his interest during the very first launch effort on Wednesday: “This is a dream come true for me and everybody else at SpaceX.”
” I didn’t even dream that this would become a reality.”
Poor weather condition threatened to postpone the mission a second time, as clouds crowded the Florida skies and teased rocket-threatening lightning. A shower briefly soaked the rocket.
Similar conditions forced NASA and SpaceX to scrub their very first launch effort simply 17 before liftoff on Wednesday, considering that the Falcon 9 rocket might activate lightning strikes from electrically charged clouds.
Though the historical objective is on its method, the tough part is not over for the two guys, SpaceX, or NASA– a partner that has actually invested more than $3.14 billion to promote the system’s development.
Launching rockets is something SpaceX excels at, with now 86 successful liftoffs under its belt. Flying crewed area pills and keeping the passengers alive is another matter.
To prove to NASA and the rest of the world it can be done, the astronauts will spend the next day reaching the International Spaceport Station, where they will dock the new spaceship for about 110 days before returning home.
The stakes are massive, with the success of the mission– marked by a safe landing in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida– bound to shape the future of SpaceX, NASA, and human spaceflight in basic.

SpaceX via Twitter.
Ahead of the crew is a extremely choreographed sequence of events for their speculative mission, called Demo-2.
Now in orbit, Behnken and Hurley will climb up out of their spacesuits, get a bite to eat, and start to check out as numerous systems on Crew Dragon as they can– including bypassing the spaceship’s automated controls to pilot the vehicle. They likewise plan to check out the toilet (which is shrouded in exclusive secret) and eventually get some sleep inside the automobile.
” We’re simply thrilled to kind of put it through its rates,” Hurley stated during a press briefing on May 1.
Within a day of launch, the ship will bring up to the International Spaceport Station (ISS): SpaceX and NASA’s supreme, football field-size location in orbit. Behnken and Hurley will try their hand at the manual docking controls prior to turning the automatic system back on.
Although the Team Dragon’s final variation is created to stay in space for almost seven months, NASA and SpaceX said this specific ship could remain up to 110 days.
” That schedule is a little bit in flux,” Hans Koenigsmann, SpaceX’s vice president of mission assurance, stated during a May 25 rundown.
The crews of STS-135 and Exploration 28 hold up an US flag that flew on the first area shuttle objective, STS-1, went back to Earth, and flew again on STS-135 The flag was left on the International Space Station for the next crewed launch from American soil.
NASA.
Prior To Behnken and Hurley leave the ISS, however, they’ll get a historic keepsake: an American flag flown on the first area shuttle bus objective and left by the team of NASA’s 135 th and last area shuttle flight, of which Hurley was a member.
President Barack Obama in July 2011 called it a video game of “capture-the-flag” for the first commercial spaceship team to reach the station.
That competitors is now down to SpaceX and Boeing, which is slated for a crewed test flight of its CST-100 Starliner spaceship in early 2021.
” We absolutely seem like we remain in the result in make it to the International Spaceport station and recover the flag that STS-135 left. We aren’t truly focused on who’s going to win and who’s going to lose,” Behnken informed reporters on May 1.
He included: “We’re truly concentrated on making sure that we technically get into space and get this car had a look at and achieve the supreme mission, which isn’t winning versus Boeing: It’s supplying this capability to the International Space Station so that we can start turning crews from American soil.”
Elon Musk is most anxious about the landing of Crew Dragon
An illustration of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spaceship returning to Earth with a blaze of plasma ahead of its heat shield.
SpaceX through YouTube.
When the astronauts are prepared to return, they’ll climb up back into Crew Dragon, put on their spacesuits, and undock from the spaceport station. They’ll get into position to blast off the spaceship’s thrusters, enabling Earth’s gravity to pull them back to the planet.
This reentry of the space capsule through Earth’s environment — aside from the threat positioned by space debris– is the “greatest issue” for Musk, he informed Irene Klotz of Air Travel Week
His worry concerning the brand-new spaceship was the pill’s asymmetric design, which is driven by its emergency situation escape system. While yelling back to Earth at 25 times the speed of noise, the capsule’s heat guard will deflect and soak up the energy of superheated plasma– however the forces of atmospheric reentry have a slim possibility of causing catastrophic issues, Musk said.
” If you turn too much, then you might possibly capture the plasma in the super Draco escape thruster pods,” Musk stated, adding this could overheat parts of the ship or cause it to lose control (by wobbling). “We have actually taken a look at this 6 ways to Sunday, so it’s not that I believe this will stop working. It’s simply that I worry a bit that it is asymmetric on the backshell.”
In all probability, according to NASA and SpaceX’s threat price quotes, the mission has more than a 98%chance of success and even higher odds of keeping Behnken and Hurley safe.
The sun sets in Cape Canaveral, Florida, as SpaceX’s Team Dragon spaceship and Falcon 9 rocket wait for launch in May2020
SpaceX via Twitter.
Presuming all goes well from start to end up with the Demo-2 mission, professionals think the mission could represent a bold new age for human spaceflight.
Previous NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman, who worked for several years on SpaceX’s cargo and crewed spaceship programs, stated Crew Dragon and Demo-2 might signal significant progress within the spaceflight industry.
For one, he stated, it ‘d be “the supreme validation” of NASA’s decision to split roughly $8 billion in between SpaceX and Boeing and have the companies develop their own spacecraft and, in the end, privately own and run them. That model contrasts with the firm’s Orion spaceship and Area Launch System rocket programs, which NASA will own and run but have actually amounted to tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer costs without a single test launch.
” I believe that the mix of those two things– the performance plus the expense savings– would be an amazing validation and recommendation of this whole technique,” Reisman said.
He added that the next stage will be the flights of personal astronauts(or spaceflight participants” in NASA parlance) to the space station. To that impact, NASA recently structured the capability of companies to fly residents to the laboratory and foster commercial activities– even consisting of the recording of action movies
Put together, he said success for Demo-2 would represent “the beginning of a golden age of industrial spaceflight.”
” We would be within a year of flying normal citizens in area, which will be hugely transformative,” he added.
The International Space Station (ISS).
NASA.
Reisman states that in the beginning just the rich and well-connected will have access to space. He included that the early days of industrial aviation looked really similar, with passengers investing excessive sums to fly in biplanes while using tuxedos due to the fact that it was such a rare occasion.
” That’s where we’re at with area travel today, we remain in the really beginning phases,” he said. “We need to look forward to the day when we have Southwest and JetBlue.”
” The day will come when everybody that wishes to go to space will, for the most part, be able to afford to go,” Reisman stated.
SpaceX is hard at work on a follow-up crewed launch called Starship, which Musk hopes can minimize the expense of access to area by 1,000- fold or more.
He hopes to introduce a model on a brief “hop” at the company’s blossoming development website in South Texas in the coming weeks.
SpaceX likewise hopes its Starship job will significantly speed up worldwide travel from days to minutes with routine point-to-point flights at hypersonic speeds

The Original List: 50 Content Marketing Influencers and Experts to Follow into 2019
Content Marketing World 2018 will be here before you know it. The largest content marketing conference in the world brings together an incredible cornucopia of talent, curiosity, knowledge and aspirations for success. Marketers from all over the world come to Cleveland, Ohio for this event of epic proportions.
Readers of our blog know we have a long history with the conference starting at the beginning with 8 years of speaking and attending plus 6 years of partnering with Content Marketing Institute to develop speaker/influencer content marketing campaigns, aka “conference ebooks”, to help promote the event.
Another tradition that has recently been imitated but hardly duplicated, is something we started several years ago: sort through the 200 or more speakers and publish a ranked list of content marketing experts according to their social influence.
List Methodology: For this list we use the Traackr influencer marketing platform to filter the content marketing experts who are speaking at the current year’s Content Marketing World conference using a number of criteria including the relevance of the individuals to the topic, the degree to which their networks engage, and the size of their networks. Online data is pulled from blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, SlideShare, Flickr and several other platforms.
Of course the topic in question is: “content marketing”. Everyone included on this list is a) a speaker at CMWorld 2018, b) ranked in the top 50 for “content marketing” according to relevance, resonance, reach and audience metrics.
People always thank me for including them in these lists and there’s no thanks to be given other than to the people who worked hard sharing useful content about content marketing to their social channels, in blogs, in videos and online in general.
Thanks goes to ALL of the people who are actively sharing knowledge about content marketing by engaging and helping others with opinions, insights and expertise on the social web. This list is just the beginning of understanding all of the top experts and influencers around the topic of content marketing.
In this year’s list there are many familiar faces and some that are new. I hope you find new and inspiring content marketing experts to follow through the rest of this year and into 2019.

Old-Fashioned Slobberknocker
With fighting declining in every league as the emphasis on skill and speed is increased, the classic line brawl has fallen into the extinction category in hockey. Line brawls were fairly common in the 1970s with the Broad Street Bullies and Slap Shot getting the attention over their pugilistic themes, but we've seen the numbers consistently decline to where we are today where they are as rare as fifty-goal seasons. Unless you were in Toledo, Ohio tonight. The Kansas City Mavericks were visiting the Toledo Walleye tonight in ECHL action, and things went off the rails after Connor Crisp scored his third goal of the night and fourth Walleye goal of the evening. The Mavericks, not enjoying a 4-0 deficit, decided to take matters into their own hands and all hell broke loose.
HERE IT IS: FULL VIDEO OF THE WALLEYE VS. KC BRAWL -- EVERYONE INVOLVED INCLUDING THE GOALIES. pic.twitter.com/yLg645d9Me
— Jordan Strack (@JordanStrack) February 11, 2018
Wow. The ECHL disciplinarians are gonna be busy. Let's start with the vicious cross-checks delivered by Garrett Klotz of the Mavericks to Toledo's AJ Jenks while he was on the ice. It was a free-for-all after that as players paired off in the defence of their teammates, and it ratcheted up another few notches when Mavericks goaltender Mason McDonald skated in to share in the festivities. That would only set off more fireworks as Toledo netminder Matej Machovsky skated the length of the ice to square off against McDonald. They traded blows until they agreed to end their gentleman's quarrel, and it seemed like all was done once players were separated and escorted to their respective benches and penalty boxes. Note that I said "seemed like all was done". With thirty seconds left in the game, caution was once again thrown to the wind.
Here was the second line brawl...Parker Reno got cross-checked in the face and that set off another melee! pic.twitter.com/Ao1gjvERjX
— Jordan Strack (@JordanStrack) February 11, 2018
Another cross-check to the face, another line brawl, and officials simply trying keep the peace while avoiding punches thrown. There was no goalie fight this time, though, as both McDonald and Machovsky were assessed game misconducts for their involvement in the early fracas, so Kansas City's Kent Nusbaum and Toledo's Pat Nagle were able to finish out the game in their respective blue paint. For the record, Kansas City picked up a mere 65 minutes in penalties on the night while Toledo was assessed 55 minutes in total penalty minutes. Toledo has three minor penalties up until the start of the first brawl while Kansas City only had a pair of penalties. According to Mark Monroe's article in The Blade,
Walleye coach Dan Watson called the situation "absolutely embarrassing." "Their coaching staff should be embarrassed. Their organization should be embarrassed," Watson said. "Klotz should be suspended for the rest of the year. I think he should be done. It's unacceptable. Our league is trying to get rid of the image from the 1980s and 1990s. If this is going to continue, it won't we'll continue to get a bad rap."
I don't know about it being embarrassing if you're a fan. That's old-time hockey, as the boys would say, as everyone on the ice got involved. Granted, it's probably not what the league wants to see when it comes to promoting its product, but you have to admit that everyone sits up and watches when there's a line brawl that features a goalie fight. Reggie Dunlop would have been proud! Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice! from Sports News http://hockey-blog-in-canada.blogspot.com/2018/02/old-fashioned-slobberknocker.html

The Mallards have signed forward Triston Grant to a standard player contract and have traded forward Garrett Klotz to the Jacksonville Icemen in exchange financial considerations.
Grant scored six times and added five assists to total 11 points in 43 games with Rapid City last season after going without a point in four games with Wichita. He also played a single game for the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators.
Klotz went pointless while picking up 26 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Mallards this season.

Did You Know?
Trivia: With a limited budget, the director Travis Milloy built the set himself using the most inexpensive materials he could find. To create futuristic walls in the prison cell he used plastic crates that are used to carry 2-liter soda pop bottles which he found next to dumpsters behind grocery stores. Not realizing the crates were re-used by the bottling company, unknowingly having stolen them, after the film was completed he returned the crates to the grocery stores where he found them. User Review
Author:
Rating: 3/10 This movie had just about everything going for it– acting, suspense, intrigue, twist surprises… until the last 10 minutes when they threw it all out the window with a plot line that took a plunge into the nonsense dumpster. The ending made no sense, tied into the movie in no manner and totally contradicted everything prior… leaving the viewer scratching heads or trying desperately to come up with some explanation as to what the blazes just happened.
This is an excellent example for cinema students of how to let your directorial ego go to your head and totally throw away an otherwise brilliant and inspired film. Watch this or don't watch it as you will… you will get over an hour of enjoyment only to regret wasting your time on this senseless-end drivel. It's not abstract, it's not cerebral. It's just plain schlock from a writing / directing team who coughed up a hairball and called it a story.
Then on top of that, throw in a couple of bogus high-star reviews on IMDb to try and convince everyone of what a masterpiece you've made. Yes sir, that will guarantee the future of cinematic excellence.
I give this 3 stars because I reserve 1 and 2 stars for films with no redeeming factors. This one gets a 3 because any redeeming factors this film had go down the drain with the last 10 minutes.
