me: whew, I can’t wait to go to bed early tonight and get a reasonable amount of sleep!
my wretched brain, about to randomly become incomprehensibly obsessed with some completely useless side project and keep me up for 20 hours straight:
#today it's elven gods lmao#I'm trying to finish the Avirre'thel worldbuilding information so that I'm finally kind of ''done''w ith them as a species#obviously still adding things but you know.. fully fleshing them out as much as I care to for now.. which i only have a few things left like#culture. fashion and clothing. how the government works. daily life and common culture. media. mythology etc.#I'm on mythology for whatever reason even though it makes more sense to write out other things first lmao but since they came from elves#a lot of their myths and ideas are kind of tied in with theirs (or more a rejection of theirs) so I thought first I need to have JUST A LOOS#E IDEA of what ancient elven mythology is like and what type of gods they have and etc. so I can have that to build off of for the vampires#just A LOOSE IDEA!!! like oh I definitely don't need to detail it ALL out.. just a little.. now I'm like pacing back and forth rabid sheddin#g hair on the carpet sleep deprived like 'OKAy so here's the exact personality traits and quirks of all 19 MAIN GODS and then there's the SI#DE GODS here's all of their names and also THE PLANTS ASSOCIATED WITH them and the colors they're associated with and what they#like as offerings and alsO they all have unique relationships with each other so OBSVIOUSLY i have to plan all that out AND..'#like shut... the hell up sometimes please lmao...#we're not even on the goddamn elves!!! finish the vampire first!!!! I have had to end up planning a lot about ancient elves in order#to plan the society of vampires given their origins and etc. but otherwise I'm trying to stay completely out of elven shit for now because#i don't need ANOTHER species to work on but my brain is just like 'yes.. here are my 19 children.. write 8000 paragraphs about all of them#immediately right now.. draw them..this is all you're allowed to do for the next 4 days.. you fool.. you complete bastard idiot.. you're at#my mercy... think you're going to sleep?? ha.. not until you assign every god a unique hair color based on ancient elven culture's#perception of colors which remember meaning and association of colors varies by culture so you have to come up with a unique color system#and outline all the connotations first and THEN...'#ghbhg this is why i never get anything done i get too easily sidetracked with irrelevant details that are just second thoughts to larger tho#ughts that are the ones I should actually be focusing on but apparently sometimes its just Like This#'allright! NO!!'#anyway.. when will I finally bring justice to my perfect vampire children and stop getting sidetracked by other shit while trying to finish#my basic information about them bhbbhh#it's always something#i do this with pretty much everything but ESPECIALLY worldbuilding stuff and etc. since it's so broad you can be writing about anyhting in#a fantasy world and it makes you think about another thing you hadn't considered before and it's just a constant chain of distraction lmao#why must entire worlds be so.... vague and broad... prone to spontaneous possibility...
