Though a pit stop in some small, seemingly off the grid Canadian town wasn’t on the cards for Vetty, she certainly wasn’t complaining about having a break from driving. With her van broken down, and little else to do, she made her way to one of the recommended clubs in town, The Chateau. It was stunning and the crowd was full of energy, likely from people desperate to get away from family after all the holiday festivities. Either way, she was living for it and a few too many drinks in, dancing through the crowds and making friends with just about anyone who was willing before dismissing herself for the bathroom.

Upon return, she spotted a brooding but attractive man in the corner seemingly sitting by himself and decided to approach, the liquor and being a stranger to the town giving her more than enough confidence to do so. “Do you always stand off to the side and watch as everyone else has a good time? Surely there’s a sea of people just waiting to dance with you,” she added with a small smirk, offering him one of the two drinks she was holding. “I’m Vetty.”

paris, the city of love. How cliche that Yvette would want to write a book based on such a place. with her muse on her arm, the brunette goddess couldn’t help but bask in the allure of sweet paris. everything about the city just screamed romance, as did her companion. the man was a complete cliche in himself, with the name, romeo, and the personality to boot. he really was the modern day prince charming. the two of them had incredible chemistry, and they had great sex. that was perhaps one of the main reasons the man had been present in her life for so long. yvette usually slept with someone once or twice, then binned them off. but with romeo.. she couldn’t quite get enough. no matter how many times they had mind blowing sex.. her lusting for him was never satisfied - she was always left wanting more of him, needing to feel him all over again. the sun had long since gone down, and after a rather risque encounter atop the eiffel tower a day prior, the pair had decided to take a stroll down the seine. with manuscript in hand, yvette read to the male. “...with her back pressed against the cold iron railing of the iconic tower, dainty fingers buried in his hair and his tongue buried in her heat, she moaned out his name. eye lashes fluttered as knuckles whitened, holding onto the railing for dear life as her body quaked, her prince charming causing her to implode in pleasure right there. the contact unwavering, him refusing to leave her until he was quite content that he’d tasted every single drop of her sweet nectar..” the brunette trailed off. “you get the idea..” she chuckled, tucking a few stray locks behind her ear, turning then to peer toward romeo. “it was far too memorable of an encounter for me to not include it..” another light laugh passed plump lips. “please tell me you love it..” yvette teased, approaching the male with a slight smirk.

Yvette’s 500 sq. ft. rental in the Netherlands is incredibly decorated. She’s lived here 26 yrs. and it’s done in a romantic, moody and mysterious Victorian style. Look at this gorgeous apt. for some inspiration.

Of course, since it’s only 500 sq. ft., it’s very cozy. Her color palette is a blend of deep mauves, roses, dusty purples, deep apricots, all accented with grays. 

Aren’t the colors interesting? I would’ve never thought of this and it’s just so lovely.

Her favorite room is the living room b/c of the wallpaper. She starts off every day with a cup of coffee in here.

Yvette said that the best thing she ever did was to make 2 bedrooms in her one large bedroom. 

Both areas look so comfy and cozy.

Yvette is in love with Victorian style, but unfortunately there are no Victorian homes in the Netherlands, and her apt. was built in the 60s, so she created a bit that style, herself.

“Privilege is the greatest enemy of right" - Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach

Angela Raynor, the Deputy Prime Minister has abandoned the ‘levelling up’ title from her role as Secretary of State for Housing and Communities, promising, "no more gimmicks no more slogans”.

Unfortunately, Wez Streeting didn’t receive the same the memo.

On Sky’s ‘Political Hub' programme he compared walking into his Department of Health and Social Care as being like entering a house that is in “a complete state."  It is clear to me, said Streeting, that the NHS is “broken" and that ‘sunlight is the best disinfectant”. What we need, he said, is a review of the NHS and for someone to:

“Take up the carpets, look at the floorboards and tell us how bad things really are”.

So much for no more slogans  and gimmicky  sound bites! As for a review, if he knows the NHS is broken then he doesn’t need a review to tell him that. We can rightfully blame the Tories for running down the NHS over the last 14 years but what has Labour been doing during that time to formulate a plan to repair that damage?

Streeting has chosen Lord Darzi to lead his review into the NHS. This should come as no surprise. Lord Darzi, on paper at least, is the ideal man for the job as he has previous government experience and conducted an earlier review of the NHS under Gordan Brown.

Despite these seemingly ideal qualifications, the cynical amongst us might suggest another, more compelling, reason Darzi has been chosen.

“Lord Darzi: Labour wrong to rule out private NHS care” (BBC News: 29/01/15)

For Darzi, it is irrelevant who delivers NHS services ,  private or public, he doesn’t care. This attitude suites Streeting down to the ground as his ambition is to expand the privatisation of healthcare provision within the NHS.

“NHS should ‘seek to use’ private healthcare capacity, Wes Streeting says.”  (FT: 24/03/24)

Wes Streeting, Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper have all accepted funding from private healthcare donors -  £193,725, £157,500, and £295.205 respectively. (Labour Heartlands: 17/06/23)

How much this has  played a part in Labours plans for the NHS remains to be seen, but these sums are not insubstantial and presumably these private healthcare companies expect a return for their money.

Angela Raynor may have dropped "levelling up” from her title but Wes Streeting is shamelessly using it as an argument to privatise the NHS.

According to Streeting:

“It is the principled thing to do because we’ve got a two tier system that’s opened up where those who can afford it are going private and those that cant are being priced out and left behind. My Labour principles say that working class people deserve the same quality, the same access to services as people from wealthier backgrounds.”

This is the classic “levelling up” argument being used to defend healthcare for profit rather than for social good.  We had the same argument from Starmer regarding private education.

“Sir Keir Starmer hopes to bring state schools up to private standards in first term." (SKY NEWS: 06/07/23) 

Initially Starmer was going to strip private schools of their undeserved charitable status. This would have given the exchequer an estimated £1.7 billion extra funding to spend on state education, but that plan as since been ditched. The 7% of pupils who are privately educated are to be allowed to continue their privileged education together with the socio-economic benefits that brings.

The same privileges are to prevail regarding health. Those with deep pockets can afford to pay for private healthcare and jump NHS waiting lists. Streeting's plan to privatise even more of the NHS by paying for the use of their “spare capacity" hardly helps anyone. Once that "spare capacity" is full, we are back to ever expanding  waiting lists that the wealthy can still circumvent because they have the money to do so.

The first priority of a private healthcare business is to make money. If it doesn’t it goes bust. The first priority of the NHS is to improve the nations health; these competing goals are ultimately incompatible. Starmer and his inner circle know this and are choosing to maintain the status quo and to protect the privileges that wealth can buy at the expense of ordinary working people. Is this really what people voted for?

Author's Note: On the surface, this plot does not have the site-wide stakes of previous big plots I have done - and yet, I think this is the most complex and rewarding plot I've ever embarked on! I owe so much to my Hauntley Crew and RP partners who were game for this, who were patient with me, who asked great questions, who pushed me to be a better plotter and project manager (lol), and who filled in my rough plot skeleton(s) with flesh, blood, and heart. hi everyone, finally, i made an ICYMI article for this film! i also made a playlist of all the trailers, promos, featurettes, etc., it's all right here.

- it was announced in october 2021 that there would be a second film

- the premiere date in the us moved from october 13 to september 29. it's also the premiere date for canada

- the movie will focus on skye

- first cast member anounced - taraji p. henson

- kim k revealed that she'll return as delores

- january 27: voice cast announced!

we have eight ryders! finn lee-epp will be ryder in the film

i predicted that justin paul kelly will be voicing chase in the film TWICE, but it never happened. i was wishing for him to shine as chase. well anyway, i'm sure christian convery will do great

christian corrao did well in all paws on deck, so yeah, confirmed that he's marshall

crying because it's not lilly bartlam as skye. clues are showing that it's mckenna grace. at first i was worried because i've heard her normal voice before. but because of spirit untamed, i'm sure she'll do great

- they have the junior patrollers: tot, nano, and mini, three little pomeranians that become part of the paw patrol, and they were trained by liberty

- the movie is rated pg due to mild action and peril. i have no problem with it. superhero films today are rated pg. it's surprising for some fans tho

- the main six pups have the same powers from the tv movie and subseries, but there are a few upgrades: marshall can create fireballs, rocky can be a magnet, zuma can turn into a puddle of water, and skye has super strength

- the detail on pups' power paws OMG? kinda looks like they leave some.fairy dust or smth

- so far, only finn lee-epp (ryder) had several interviews about the movie. the team us cast appeared only on featurettes and interviews that were recorded a few months ago

- the official soundtrack with original score by pinar toprak was released on september 29

- there will be a third theatrical film set to release in 2026!

- the movie is on digital on october 31!

- the dvd for the mighty movie will release in the us on december 12.
