I hc there's a misconception about Mystery, Inc., and it's that Fred and Velma, being the planners and "braincell holders" of the gang, cannot leave Daphne and Shaggy alone together unattended. In reality, it's actually Daphne and Shaggy that can't leave Fred and Velma unattended. They maximize their troublemaking potential and then go apeshit ham from there.

Scooby Doo and the Larking Library Labyrinth

A friend of mine said that this was my "villain origin story"; but I'd argue it was my White Whale. Every time I thought I was done with it I'd see a little extra room for something else, a line I'd like to shift, a detail I'd like to add- I think I have over five different "finished" variants of this in my files.

I ramble, but I'm actually super proud of this piece- it's the most detailed work I can remember drawing and I'm so happy with the results!

This piece was such a journey, but I'm so glad I saw it through.

i really hope kevin and hiromi are able to work stuff out. i'm rooting for those two crazy kids. but know that all the work will have to be on kevin's end. hiromi has done absolutely nothing wrong. from her perspective, kevin stood her up and then gave her an excuse he had already used before after letting her down in the past (she doesn't know that gretel is a superhero yet, but i think she'll find out later). and then he has a date with a person she does NOT get along with (even though he had no idea about hiromi's beef with her and was just trying to make things less awkward between them). kevin will have to be the one to make things right. both of these characters have suffered more than jesus in completely opposite ways

ever since someone mentioned how iconic honey lemon from bh6 i haven't?? been able?? to get it out of my head??

for people who don't know, there's a series for bh6 (titled big hero six the series woop woop!!) and one of the episodes was centric around honey lemon also being a girl in!! the arts!! she attends the san fransokyo art institute (sfai) and had her art w the gang hung up in the visual arts gallery

the san fransokyo institute of technology and the san fransokyo art institute ARE rival schools, but honey lemon just still. loves exploring both fields and her friends are crazy supportive of her (in the end the rival thing is also just for funsies and it's honestly such a fun episode) i just think it is SO COOL that FOR ONE !! she's a woman in stem who wears feminine clothing + heels despite already being tall + HAS INCREDIBLE FASHION SENSE + is a genuinely good person and is TWO !! also heavily involved in the arts LIKE BRO IDK ABOUT YOU but i think it's a really good message for kids (but honestly everyone) to know that they don't have to pick one specific route to follow + can pursue what they love

Fred is definitely athletic. He canonically works out. One of his character bios says he’s 180-something lbs of muscle. He’s very strong. He can ski, ice skate, and play soccer and baseball well, if memory serves. He’s into weightlifting. He can run as fast as a Great Dane, just like the rest of the gang can. Even if he doesn’t fit the jock archetype, he’s still athletic.
