Hey y'all I listed these paintings on ebay recently! I have most of them listed for local pickup due to their size and weight, but the 2 on canvas are listed with shipping options, though the larger one will likely have expensive shipping unfortunately. Buuuuuuttt if you're interested in owning one of these bad boys and you like close to the Akron / Cleveland / Kent (Ohio) area it'd be awesome to actually sell some of these.
I know most of them don't have frames /cradles /hangers on them, but the doors could be installed as actual usable doors and the MDF boards are fairly easy to hang with screws. I made the MDF board paintings at a time when I wasn't feeling the best and was unable to manage making frames for my panels, plus I had a professor that told me I had to buy my own panel making wood, which was untrue. The school is supposed to provide Masonite, you're only supposed to have to purchase the wood for the frame. The only would I could find for making panels at the time was MDF as all the Masonite panels at the local hardware stores were filled with holes :( thus why there's 1/3 inch thick MDF board paintings in my collection of student works.
ANYWAY, I'm willing to drive the ones that fit in my car a pretty good distance to get them out of my closet lol. I'd say max would be an hour and a half to two hours.
Please consider purchasing one of these if you have the means to do so and like my work, it'd mean so much to me.
Here's the link to my Ebay page: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=156244174223&rt=nc&_ssn=hoande_62
Paintings For Sale!!!
Hey! I finally decided it's time to sell the paintings I've done throughout the past few years of school! Prices are negotiable and do not include the cost of shipping. Buyer pays for shipping. I am only able to ship these within the United States. Many of these pieces are large and/or heavy so I can't guarantee the shipping price won't be hefty, but I tried to price these pieces with that fact in mind. Please DM me if you'd like to buy one or have any questions.
"Flower Field" Acrylic on MDF board, 48 x 25 (inches), no frame/cradle and no hanger attached so it's a bit difficult to hang as is - $100
It's a bit heavy because it's MDF board so shipping may be expensive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Brighter Colors" Acrylic, Caulk, and Graphite Powder on Hollow Wooden Door, 79.5 x 24 x 1.25 (inches), No hinges or doorknob, no hanger attached, slight damage to top of door - $300
Based on Brighter Colors by Alter-P
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Lanterns Lit" Acrylic on Textured Enameled Door, 80 x 32 x 1.25 (inches), no doorknob, hinges still attached, metal picture hanger attached to back - $300
Based on Lanterns Lit by Son Lux
This door is very heavy so shipping will probably be a lot as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Are You Going To Leave Me?" Acrylic on Masonite Panel, 72 x 36 x 2 (inches) - $300
Based on the song Are You Going To Leave Me? by Big Void feat. Big Al

"Heat Abnormal" Acrylic, Graphite Powder, and Metalic Powder on Hollow Wooden Door, 80 x 30 x 1.25 (inches), No Door Handle, Metal Hinges and Metal Hangers attached, door slightly damaged. - $300

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Scribble Face: I'm Afraid of Doctors" Acrylic, Hot Glue, Chalk Pastels, and Graphite Powder on Canvas, 18 x 24 (inches) - $75
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"What it Feels Like to Drown" Acrylic on Canvas, 40 x 40 x 2 (inches) - $200
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"On Loop" Acrylic on Masonite Panel, 42 x 42 x 2 (inches) - $200
Based on a playlist of like 20ish songs I had on loop that semester.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Monster" Acrylic on MDF Board, 49 x 25 (inches), No Frame/Cradle or Hanger attached so it's a bit hard to hang as is. - $125
It's a bit heavy because it's MDF board so shipping price may be high.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even if you can't or don't want to buy a painting, I'd super appreciate if you would reblog this and spread it so I can get these paintings out of our closet and maybe make some money. It's the first time I'm posting pictures of most of these so I hope you like them~

MARY SPAIN
American, 1934–1983
"As a small girl, Lisa Eastman lived across the lane from a magical woman who moved effortlessly across sun-dappled wood floors, under cathedral ceilings and surrounded by large colorful paintings. The smell of oil paints filled the air, casting a powerful spell on the younger girl. “That’s when I knew I wanted to be a painter.” Mary Spain Colie had spread her magical life to another generation, though her own life ended before middle age.
The details of Mary Spain’s life are sketchy, drawn more in paint and sculpture than biographical details. She grew up in North Carolina, but shared a creative soul with famed Belgian artist, Rene Magritte whose work pulled her away from the Expressionist landscapes that defined her early career. Later she moved to Ohio to teach art at Chagrin Falls High School and lived a quiet life with her husband Frederic Colie, a fireman, outdoorsman, and commercial chemicals salesman.
The parallels between their lives and works are hard to ignore. Putting Magritte’s renowned “Son of Man,” beside any of Mary Spain’s many masked figures makes one question the effects of having a world war take place in your back yard or childhood. Magritte’s response was to probe deeper and deeper into Surrealism, a style that challenged viewers perceptions of reality. He became one of only a handful of surrealistic masters.
Mary Spain, on the other hand, escaped to her magical kingdom on the banks of the Chagrin River. There she captured a world others couldn’t see in surrealistic images of people and animals, often mechanical, always mysteriously hidden behind masked faces. Certainly they were influenced by her collection of antique dolls, but where did her love of dolls and whimsical images come from? One art critic wrote: “Exactly when Mary Spain tumbled into her pictorial Looking-Glass world is difficult to determine. She may have been born there.” Only Mary Spain Colie knew for sure, and her voice was silenced by cancer at the young age of 49. Magritte lived two decades longer, but succumbed too early to the same horrible disease.
Her husband, Frederic, had supported his wife’s career by forging relationships with galleries in Cleveland, New York and Florida. After her death he withdrew all her paintings and sculptures from those galleries. They were never again offered for sale until after his own death in 2012."

Ohio opens another wildlife preservation area to fracking for oil and gas. (The Plain Dealer Cleveland)
A panel of state officials on Monday sold rights to drill for oil and gas under a preserved wildlife area in Harrison County.
The Oil and Gas Land Management Commission, comprised of a slate of gubernatorial appointees, sold about 85 acres underneath Keen Wildlife Area for nearly $212,000, plus 18% royalties on the oil and gas produced, to Houston-based EOG resources.
The vote comes despite the commission receiving hundreds of public comments that are overwhelmingly, if not entirely, opposed to allowing fracking in the preserved area.
“I strongly oppose opening ANY of our state park and wildlife areas for fracking, as they were created for the preservation of nature – plant/animal/mineral – and for human enjoyment,” wrote Susan Righi in April to the commission. “The proximity of frack pads, heavy truck traffic, flaring, off-gassing, spills, noise and other inescapable effects of fracking is in direct conflict with the purposes of these area. Vote NO on fracking at Keen Wildlife Area.”
EOG declined to comment on its planned operations or the broad opposition to the project in the public comments.
According to a rendering from the “land nomination” form, gas underneath the wildlife area will be accessed via a well pad about three-quarters of a mile away from the parcel currently owned by the Department of Natural Resources. This is possible by a technique called hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in which a company drills vertically downward thousands of feet from a well pad before turning laterally and reaching for minerals underground. From there, operators pump a mixture of water, sand and chemicals at extremely high pressures through the bore, freeing methane from shale deep underground.
Additionally, the OGLMC voted at its Monday meeting to allow oil and gas drilling underneath about 366 acres of Egypt Valley Wildlife Area in Belmont County. State law shields the identity of the company that submitted the land nomination. That swath of land will go out to bid in October.
The sales of mineral rights underneath public land were effectively enabled by legislation passed by Republicans along party lines in 2022 and signed by Gov. Mike DeWine. The legal process it enabled, subject of heavy oil and gas lobbying both at the General Assembly and the OGLMC, also contained language that legally redefined natural gas as “green energy” despite its inherent heat-trapping properties.

Winners
Trump - The most amazing career arc. A Grover Cleveland split two terms, an FDR like three peat and all after the craziest legal attacks since the mugshot. Outspent by a wide margin. Does not matter.
J.D. Vance - Was a fantastic asset for the Trump campaign. No one can forget the debate performance that turned the tide as his A10 blues got the ladies fired up.
Amerikaners - Should be some relief coming.
Scott Presler - He delivered with all his GOTV and registration work in PA. Many doubted him and that his work could replicate.
Elon Musk - He bought Twitter and won an election with it. Powerful shift in messaging from him. Risked it all.
Lara Trump - She was not lying about a strong election legal and monitoring team. They jumped on everything. Still need to know what happened in Milwaukee with the 100% turnout precincts.
Captive Dreamer - His Springfield Ohio X posting changed the discussion in the election.
Prediction Markets - They were much better than polling firms despite their newness.
Losers
Kamala Harris - Put in a tough spot. Really tough to step in and win. She also sucked at the job of public speaking politician.
Tim Walz - Slinks back to Minnesota. America’s goofy dad can flap his wrists all he wants back home. If Gretchen Whitmer is the nominee in ‘28, she cannot pick a running mate named Tim.
Pollsters - Some did well but by now America realizes they make up numbers to fit a sales pitch that the Democrats want. Ann Selzer whiffed by 16% in Iowa, but did anyone have Florida or New Jersey where they ended up?
Ann Selzer - Just retire bitch.
Swann Marcus - Baby faced slug was in meltdown mode by 9pm Tuesday.
Pedro Gonzalez - Did he self-deport? The worst Desantoid.
Will Stancil - Get in the crystal you lesbian lookalike.
No links as we want to collect a big batch of election finger pointing for next week and put this behind us. Instead a story…
Man wakes up from a twenty year coma. Nurses alert doctors. His family arrives. Tears of joy! Grandchildren he has never seen. He eats. He tries to walk but is too weak. They catch him up on life and society. TV in the background blares an alert that the election is next week.
“I loved politics. What the hell is this year’s election like?”
Family stares in silence at each other. Grandson scratches his hair and says, “Gramps, you uh went to sleep in 2004, so lemme put it to you in those terms. The Democrats are parading around Dick Cheney’s daughter in swing states while hoping Dubya endorses their ticket. The host of Fear Factor is interviewing the star of The Apprentice about his chances to win the presidency vs. Montel Williams’ girlfriend.”

The History of Superman: The Man of Steel's Journey Through Time
Superman, the iconic superhero, has stood the test of time as one of the most beloved and enduring characters in popular culture. Since his creation in the 1930s, Superman has become a symbol of hope, justice, and the quintessential American hero. His journey from comic book pages to the big screen is a fascinating story of evolution, adaptation, and cultural impact. In this article, we’ll explore the history of Superman, from his origins to his role in today’s world, while naturally integrating some informative links for those who want to dive deeper into specific aspects of his legacy.
The Birth of Superman: 1930s Origins
Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, two high school friends from Cleveland, Ohio. The character first appeared in Action Comics #1 in June 1938, published by Detective Comics, which would later become DC Comics. Superman was an instant hit, introducing the world to a new kind of hero—one with superhuman strength, the ability to fly, and a moral compass that was unshakeable.
Siegel and Shuster’s creation was inspired by a mix of influences, including science fiction, mythology, and the political climate of the time. The idea of a powerful being coming to Earth to protect humanity resonated with readers, particularly during the tumultuous era leading up to World War II. Superman quickly became a symbol of American ideals, embodying the fight against tyranny and injustice.
Evolution Through the Decades: The 1940s to the 1960s
As Superman’s popularity grew, so did his mythology. In the 1940s, Superman expanded beyond comic books into radio shows, animated cartoons, and even serial films. The Adventures of Superman radio show introduced new elements to the character’s lore, such as his vulnerability to Kryptonite and his famous catchphrase, "Truth, Justice, and the American Way."
By the 1950s, Superman was a household name, thanks in part to the television series starring George Reeves. This era also saw the introduction of iconic characters like Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and Jimmy Olsen, who have remained integral to Superman’s story.
During these decades, Superman’s character continued to evolve, reflecting the changing societal values and fears. The Cold War influenced many of the stories, with Superman often facing threats that mirrored the real-world concerns of nuclear war and espionage.
The 1970s: Superman on the Big Screen
Superman’s transition to the big screen in the 1970s was a game-changer. The 1978 film, Superman: The Movie, directed by Richard Donner and starring Christopher Reeve, set a new standard for superhero films. The movie’s success solidified Superman’s place in cinematic history and introduced him to a new generation of fans.
Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of Superman is still widely regarded as one of the best, capturing both the hero’s strength and his humanity. The film’s tagline, "You’ll believe a man can fly," perfectly encapsulated the sense of wonder that Superman brought to audiences. The movie also helped to cement the iconic imagery of Superman, particularly the Superman S logo, which became a symbol recognized around the world. For more on the logo's significance, check out this article on the Superman S logo meaning from Northamptonshire News.
The 1980s and 1990s: Challenges and Reinvention
The 1980s and 1990s were a period of reinvention and challenges for Superman. The character faced declining comic book sales and a changing landscape in the superhero genre. To stay relevant, DC Comics took bold steps, including the controversial "Death of Superman" storyline in 1992, where the Man of Steel was killed by the monstrous Doomsday. This event was one of the most talked-about moments in comic book history and had a significant impact on the industry.
Despite the challenges, Superman’s legacy endured. The character was continuously reimagined in various media, including television shows like Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and the animated Superman: The Animated Series. These adaptations kept Superman in the public eye and introduced him to new audiences.
The 21st Century: Superman in a Modern World
In the 21st century, Superman has continued to evolve, reflecting the complexities of the modern world. The character has been portrayed in a range of media, from the critically acclaimed Smallville TV series to the more recent DC Extended Universe (DCEU) films, where Henry Cavill took on the role of the iconic hero.
The DCEU films, including Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), presented a more conflicted and darker version of Superman, reflecting contemporary issues and the changing nature of heroism. These films have sparked much debate among fans and critics alike, illustrating how Superman remains a relevant and dynamic character even after more than 80 years.
The Enduring Legacy of Superman
Superman’s legacy is undeniable. As one of the first superheroes, he laid the groundwork for the entire genre, influencing countless other characters and stories. His symbol, the famous Superman S logo, has become synonymous with heroism and hope. This logo's meaning, as discussed in Northamptonshire News, goes beyond just being an emblem on his chest; it represents the ideals that Superman has stood for since his inception.
Superman’s influence extends beyond comics and films. He has become a cultural icon, representing the best of humanity and the enduring belief in justice and goodness. This influence can be seen in various aspects of popular culture, from academic discussions on mythology and heroism (as explored in this Smithsonian article) to the ongoing debates about the role of superheroes in society.
Conclusion
The history of Superman is a testament to the power of storytelling and the enduring appeal of a character who, despite his alien origins, embodies the very best of humanity. From his humble beginnings in the 1930s to his current status as a global icon, Superman has remained a symbol of hope, strength, and the unyielding pursuit of justice.
As we look to the future, it’s clear that Superman will continue to inspire and captivate audiences around the world. For more insights into the superman S logo meaning and other fascinating aspects of this legendary character, be sure to explore the resources available on Northamptonshire News.
Superman’s story is far from over, and as he continues to soar through the pages of comic books, the screens of cinemas, and the hearts of fans, his legacy will only grow stronger, proving that the Man of Steel truly is a hero for all ages.
