planning of your desire birthday~

hey guys i was thinking maybe i shall post one post about all the behind the scene of my awesome birthday celebration? ^^ for those who are out there thinking of how to celebrate of welcoming of your adulthood?  or simply wanna have a small birthday gathering with your family and friends? so maybe you can get some little ideas from my event~ this is how i planned within around 2 months? ^^

if you are celebrating your 21st birthday....being last minute is a BIG NO NO! >.< this is because you would ended up not having your desire birthday celebration and everything will be corked up. trust me, it happens all the time. selecting of venues, catering and birthday cakes and even small things like the decorations, it takes time and effort in choosing the one is most suitable for you.

for me because my birthday happens to fall on the march holidays, i cant get a chalet for my friends so i decided to abandon the tradition of booking a chalet and had it in this music cafe ~ Crazy World Cafe.

FIRSTLY! list out all the major pointers that is a definite MUST! in a party. which is venue, food, birthday cake and guest list and a total budget. without any of this, you cant have a successful party

you will need to go through the period whereby sending out emails to those venues that you are interested in like my case i am booking the cafe for my event. ask them the relevant questions for eg. the quotation of having the event being held there etc.

so i have choose crazy world cafe in this case, because of the location, quotation and also most importantly, the environment of the whole cafe. for me i am kinda love music (even though i cant play any instrument) and also i like a bit vintage and old school style so the moment i step into this cafe for the first when i am going to have a discussion with the manager (florence) there, the first feeling was "yes this is the right place i am looking for".

not only the staff is nice, they are helping too throughout the whole email process is nice. they will try their best to fit my plan in. so i know that i really choose the right place.

for the food wise, for me is actually quite simple as it came as a bundle with the venue and the equipment itself~

birthday cake is another major highlight of your whole event~ for me because i wanted a fondant customized cake which cost like a bomb seriously! and also putting in the fact that some of my guest wont like it and it doesnt taste that good so i decided to go with the nicer cake~ i was having a hard time looking for a suitable cake is because it is 1 month before my birthday and all those cakes i am interested in those brands is either too busy and full to get another order or~ it just basically too expensive. so when i am on the verge of really not sure what to do...i came across this site magically~ Flor Patisserie~ i have mention this before in one of my post and saw that there are lots of good reviews about them. i didnt know how their place look like in real life because my friend eileen went to pick up the cake and pay for me the cake beforehand. from what i heard, their staff there is super friendly and nice.

because i am not a chocolate person, i choose a strawberry shortcake~ and i am really glad that my guests love the taste of the cakes ^^

guest list~ while this is up to you guys whether wanna have a big party with a lot of your family and friends and people who knows you~ or like mine in these case i invited a limited number of people who played an important role in my life.~ so maybe you can think carefully roughly the number of people you gonna invite and picture the crowd before ordering how many portion of the food to cater all these people and also whether the place and hold so many people or not.

so when everything is planned smoothly~ maybe you wanna have a themed party? haha but for mine, my theme is actually call be yourself! which mean dress in a way that best represent you the most~ however no sloppy attire ^^

and most of the decorations that i had done is all by myself~ qingguo said that i am the first one that really prepared alot of things by myself for my birthday hahah!!! i make the banner signs and door gifts~ so here are some ideas?

because i like to make scrape things...so i use the glitter foam and those patterns papers that i got and cut it out and paste in one by one. you can get these materials from any artfriend/made with love/paper market.

door gifts? haha see my previous post you will have an idea what is it. actually is a key chain that is made of wooden stars with different inspiration quote written on it ^^. thanks to my dear jane and her bf for helping out to paint and glue them together.

i decided to not to waste the blank pages on a book itself so i replace it by post cards where my guest can write on every single pieces of it. ^^ they look like those mini polariods with pretty pictures~

as you can see also i wrote those instructions for both the messages and the door gifts ^^

and also the amazing glass drawing done by david ^^ (the staff allow us to do so ^^)

of course if you dont wanna your party to be kinda dull~ you can have some activities so in this case... all of the sudden my lovely friend evelyn decided to play the keyboard while david and i decided to have a mini concert hahahah!!! hopefully it didnt turn out bad ^^

so thats how my awesome birthday goes!! hopefully it really do help for people out there wanna host one party like mine ^^

My colleague is having Wakakusayama which is a matcha swiss roll. She says it is too sweet for her liking. Me? I have sweet tooth so I love them all. LOL.

Not complete without a cuppa of English Breakfast...My favourite! =)
