Note
What about using ficfolk as an alternative to kin tags? I was just told to stay out of them for being an endel, when kin tags are literally the only way for individual identity posts to be visible in alterhuman-related tags that are specific to a source, character, or species.
Ficfolk is meant to be all-inclusive for any type of fictional identity.
Alternatives could be pawfolk, foxfolk, avianfolk, etc. for other identities. I'm just tired of not being able to find people like me and being basically invisible in the community.
Usage would be similar to kin tags, like "Junko Enoshima Ficfolk" for example.
- 🔳 (Same as Pop Idol Fox, but new tag instead)
First off, I want my opinion on this on record: if people are telling you to stay out of 'kin tags because you're an endel, they're just being an asshole and they are in the wrong, don't listen to them. (Fictional) endelity overlaps with fictionkinity, and it can by definition be considered a form of psychological fictionkinity (it is identifying as (in this case) a fictional character), even though many endels don't consider themselves 'kin and are not obligated to (in the same way that therianthropy can be considered a subset of otherkinity definition-wise, even though many therians don't consider themselves otherkin).
That being said! I don't think a fictionfolk tag is a bad idea at all; the term's already being used by the Fictionkind Dreamwidth (which I'm a part of on account of having a fictional hearthome) to encompass anyone with fiction-related alterhumanity, including fictionkin, endels, 'linkers, fictionhearted folks, fictional hearthomes, etc. I think it's definitely a good idea, though I definitely don't want people to abandon more specific tags (especially not the tags of smaller/less-talked-about alterhuman communities) for it because I think that's counterproductive to getting those communities more cohesive and better-known.
Y'all's thoughts?
