Anyone else have a period of time where you were trying to overcorrect from your not-like-other-girls phase and force yourself to dress and present more feminine even though it made you uncomfortable?
#everyone says they came out of that phase loving pink and makeup and dresses but I sure as hell didn’t#I know cause I tried#cause it turns out when you grow up feeling like your experience is alien to what you’re supposed to be#and then you’re told it’s bad to think about yourself as separate and develop a shitty little superiority complex about it#the lesson you come out of it learning isn’t necessarily that you need to examine your biases against feminine things#it’s that you need to try harder to conform to the experience of girlhood that the media and your peers have presented you#because otherwise you’re just as bad at being a girl as you were when you were little#I dunno can you tell I’m a little bitter here?

can i get ur hcs for mizuki's transistion and their struggles w/ it... im also nb and i love their story and i rly wanna see ur pov on it <33 :3 hamster face BLEEHH!!!
Yeah, I can go into my HCs for Mizuki's transition and the struggles they faced. (also let it be known as a Global player, I don't know everything about Mizuki or what has already been confirmed about their gender and/or relationship with her parents, nor can I really speak about being trans and how coming out or trying to suppress your gender identity can affect you, remember this is all my HC ^_^)
A tldr for anyone who doesn't want to read everything: Mizuki's transfemme nonbinary. When she was younger, she didn't see the things she liked as signs she was a girl, and was even encouraged to enjoy them. However, due to issues she faced in school, they began to suppress that side of them, and even tried to convince themselves that they were a boy. It was only after she ranted to Rui, her only friend in middle school, that he asked her about being trans. She did a lot of research and came out to her family, who signed her up to Kamiyama Highschool as a female student. Mizuki still struggles with her gender identity, mostly when people ask about it and push her for an answer. She eventually finds new friends and meets people, who like her, don't identify with their birth gender. And as time passed and she meets more people, she finally finds herself in a place where, maybe, just maybe, they can come out. And they do, not to everyone (though eventually they do find out, minus Rui who already knew, but we aren't counting him), but to one person: her girlfriend.
Starting off, I HC Mizuki as mtf/transfemme nonbinary. She mainly uses she/they pronouns and will later on experiment with more and use multiple, but she/they is your best bet if you've just met.
They always had a passion for cute things, if asked as kid, she'd say pastel pink was her favorite color. They loved watching their mom and sister dress up and make themselves look pretty. And she wanted to experience that. She even had them style her hair to be like theirs, and used Yuuki's clips and bracelets. It was fun and neither minded when she joined in. Their dad would even smile whenever she showed off the way her mom painted her nails or the jewelry Yuuki let them borrow.
She didn't think she was doing anything wrong until kids in their school began talking about it and avoiding them. Whispers about how she was a weirdo for liking girly things. What was she? A girl? "You can't be a girl, you're a boy, dummy!" And these kids eventually began to talk to their parents, and their parents sent in complaints. And before long, Mizuki had to stop coming to school with the things that made her happy.
But that did nothing. Kids still avoided her. The few who tried to play with them or talk with them, were pulled away, because they couldn't risk catching any weirdo germs from Mizuki. They wanted friends, right? Hanging out with her wouldn't make them friends.
And yes, there were some kids who didn't care. Who still spoke and hung out with them. But every year, they left. She'd see them the following year and they didn't talk to her. And it hurt. It hurt so much.
At one point, they began to wake up and try to reaffirm that they were, in fact, a boy. That one day, they'll wake up and be happy as their parents son and sister's brother. That she'll stop liking cute things and pastels and makeup and start liking things like working out, playing sports, darker and/or neutral colors. That she's just holding onto a phase. She stops borrowing her sister's jewelry. She stops asking her mom to make her look as pretty as she looks.
But she can't stop thinking about how uncomfortable she is. How she hates being called a boy. How being called "young man" makes her feel sick. They want nothing more than to wear the female uniform. That she could enjoy what she enjoyed without being judged for it.
Was it so wrong for her to like what she liked? To feel the way she did?
It's why meeting and befriending Rui was so important to them. Why their one year apart finalized the decision they were going to take.
Rui was the first person to connect with Mizuki in a way that others didn't. He was an outcast, much like she was. People thought he was weird and that his shows would bring more harm than good. And, okay, she can see why they'd be concerned, but surely Rui would listen to their concerns and be willing to make changed to ensure they were safe, right?
She could talk to Rui, he didn't judge her. He didn't tell her to stop whining, to stop crying. He listened day after day, until he asked the question:
Have you ever considered that you're trans?
No. No, she hadn't. Didn't everyone feel that way? Like they didn't belong in their bodies or that what they liked affected their gender? Pastels and makeup and clothing design are all, well, girly things, right?
Again, no. Rui loves makeup. He loves dressing up. He keeps his hair longer than most other boys because he likes how pretty he looks. But he never felt like a girl. He always felt like a boy. He just didn't like to be put into a mold. Gender non-conforming, as he puts it.
Could she be that? She could, but he can't really see her using that label. Not because of it's meaning, but because of what she's doing. Suppressing her real identity but trying to be the boy she never was. And, should she ever decide to embrace who she is, she likely won't want to use it and prefer being referred to as a feminine. He could be wrong, and he tells them that labels aren't necessary. That they can try them on, change them, and try them on again. But ultimately, it was her choice.
And she made her choice. She listened to her friend, who was off to highschool. She read and researched everything she could about being transgender. She listened to podcast, watched videos about transitioning.
If she cried as she struggled to come out to her parents, and later on her sister, well, no one had to know.
While it was too late to change things at her current school, she was immediately signed up as a girl in Kamiyama. When their uniform arrived, she tried it on immediately and felt their smile before they saw it. She was just, so happy.
That last remaining year was hard. She began to grow out her hair, she ignored the comments she got about it. She began to slowly incorporate the things she liked in her wardrobe again. She started designing again. And when she was gifted her first mannequin and sewing machine, she began to make her own clothes. Add things to her current clothing.
And then, her first year of highschool began. She felt nervous but overall, it was nice. She thinks maybe she can make friends with a girl named An. It'd be nice to have a friend outside of Nightcord, well, if they were even friends (she hopes they were friends). It was a pleasant surprise to see Rui was attending Kamikou. She thought he went to a different one (she's not sure if him being expelled is true or just a rumor).
But, some things didn't change. She still got comments about her appearance. About why they chose to wear what they wear. About why they didn't look like the other girls did. One person even motioned to their chest when they asked, which made her uncomfortable and desperate to leave. People pried and tried to get them to answer. And it became too much.
So, they began to cut class, some days they never even went to school. Her parents were concerned but they knew that things wouldn't be easy. That what Mizuki was going through would be difficult and face several hurdles, even after she fully transitioned. They would still get comments and they would get to her. So they laid off her skipping school. So long as she didn't fall behind, if she needed a day off, she could have a day off. If she needed either of them with her, they'll call off work. They just wanted her to be okay. To be happy. If it came down to it, they would pull her out of Kamiyama Highschool and enroll her into an online class.
Mizuki does, eventually, go back to Kamikou and is treated to the sight of one An Shiraishi digging into the students who had invaded her privacy, even while she was away. She watched and listened as her classmate tore into the boys and girls until a teacher stepped in. She blinked back her tears and thanked An out loud, laughing a bit when the other girl jumped and turned around to face her ("It was nothing!! I hate people like them, nosy and in everyone's business.").
An began to spend more time with her after that. Rui also spoke to her once he found the time, asking if she was alright, how she's been since he last saw her.
While her parents were the first she came out to, Rui was the first person to know. He just knew and it was very evident by the changes in her appearance. He's happy for her.
He admitted not knowing what to do when she was being questioned the way she was. He was still considered a weirdo, but at least he wasn't alone in that anymore. A boy in his year had asked him to join his theater troupe and he had accepted ("I think you should meet Nene and Tsukasa-kun, actually. They understand your situation and would be willing to listen! Tsukasa-kun can even introduce you to Aoyagi-kun, who would also be willing to talk.").
She did, eventually, meet the three.
First, was Nene. Rui's neighbor and childhood friend. A shy girl but nice once you got to know her. While Mizuki wasn't sure how to begin, Nene let her know she didn't have to say anything yet. Coming out was hard. Rui had been vague when talking about their problems. He only mentioned that she was a bit like her. And she could only guess it had to be something queer. And she wasn't going to make them say anything until they were ready. Something Mizuki was grateful for. And she told Nene that she didn't have to say anything, but Nene insisted. She wouldn't have offered to tell her if she wasn't actually ready to say anything.
She's a demigirl. For years, being a girl felt right and wrong. A part of her was girl. But that's it. Just a part. A small part as well. Another part of her felt like a boy at times, but the biggest part felt neutral. Like she didn't even have a gender. She tried different labels in the past (nonbinary, gender fluid, gender queer, trans, etc.). But demigirl felt right and like it aligned with how she identified. If and/or when Mizuki felt ready, she was ready to listen. And Mizuki does open up, not about her gender, but about her interest in girls, something Nene is also able to talk about.
She meets Tsukasa and Toya together. It's an... interesting dynamic, to say the least. They don't know who to talk to first, how to even approach the subject, when Toya speaks up ("Kamishiro Senpai said you wanted to speak with us. He didn't say why or what about, but would it help if I knew already?").
He knew already? Turns out Nene is his classmate. Unlike Nene, who was a bit more open about her gender, Toya was a bit more reserved. Not enough that he wouldn't tell her, but enough that he wouldn't get into details. He was also demigendered. It's one thing he and Nene bond over. He's a demiboy to be specific. Feels only partially like a boy, mainly neutral. Mizuki is one of the few to know (if she heard Tsukasa grumble about...Har...Haru...Hari....Haribo??? what did gummy candy have to with anything?). She promised not to tell anyone.
She then turned to Tsukasa and asked if he minded telling her about his own identity and the labels he used. And he surprised her the most when he admitted to not using any. He didn't see the need to use them. If someone wanted to be with him, they had to accept who he was. His sister is like him in that regard. Neither of them care about labels, just about how people treat them. To them, clothes are clothes. Anyone can wear makeup. His sister, Saki, enjoyed being called handsome and young man, but she didn't label herself as anything that would indicate she was a boy, because she wanted to be known as Saki first and foremost. He loved dresses and gowns and owned several crowns and tiaras, but he wasn't identifying himself as anything other than his name and as a "WORLD FUTURE STAR!!"
Next to Rui and An, Tsukasa is the one Mizuki turns to the most. Rui has known for years, even before she acknowledge it. He was the safest person to talk to. While An didn't know, she was proving to be a good friend, listening as she ranted about whatever annoyed her and offering comfort whenever their classmates words stung. But Tsukasa was different in the fact he didn't care. It wasn't a big deal to him. She liked girls? Cool, his sister is dating her childhood friend, who is also a girl, and he's happy for the two. He admits to being somewhat interested in Rui (Oooooohhh~ "DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO HIM!") Sometimes Mizuki asked him about how he got to where he was. She didn't say outloud, but she wondered if he also went through something like she did. And in a way, he did. But where she has struggled to accept herself and tried to force herself into a mold she couldn't fit, he just, didn't have anyone. His sister as in the hospital and his parents spent most of their time either working or with her. He didn't have anyone to talk about it with. He was loud and obnoxious, surely she's heard the rumors going around ("Yeah, when are you and Rui blowing up the school again, I wanna ditch that day, thanks!")? He didn't really have friends until now, and the very, very, few he did, he didn't really see. Toya knows because he's his brother ("SINCE WHEN?!"), but beyond that? No one found out until very recently. And he's not ashamed about, and she shouldn't either. Like everyone else, he'll wait for her. And she honestly didn't think she would ever tell anyone other than Rui, and maybe An, sooner rather than later, but Tsukasa might be up there...("It's the older brother thing. He feels safe and comfortable," Toya would later tell her. Huh, she never saw it like that, but yeah, it did kinda feel like when her sister was home, like she was safe and cared for.)
And later on, months later after helping Mafuyu, both in terms that of saving them and helping them accept their own gender identity, she sits in her room and thinks about everything.
An, who jumped in to defend her whenever she could.
Nene and Toya, who were almost two sides of the same coin and opened up to her first without wanting or making her do the same.
Akito, who got into a fight because he heard people talking badly about them.
Tsukasa, who listened and offered his own experiences, somehow being the one she can relate to the most, despite how different they were in terms of experiences.
Kanade, who liked her for her and didn't ask her things.
Mafuyu, who became the first person Mizuki gave the advice once given to her. The first person she was able to help in terms of gender identity.
Rui, the person who was first to help her. To help her realize what she had been forcing away, hiding from sight. The person who she still thanked for being her first real friend.
Ena. Ena, whom she loves and began loving more when she said she would wait for them. No matter how long she took, no matter how much time passed by. She would wait. She would wait for Mizuki and be ready. She wasn't going to push her. She didn't care if it took months or years. She would wait for her.
After months of knowing her friends, finding things out about them, seeing them come out and be accepted, after finally, FINALLY, feeling safe enough to open up, that they decide it was time.
She was ready. They could do this. She could tell them. They've shown her they cared. They would never share anything she didn't feel comfortable with, what they did share was kept vague and open. They didn't mention her name unless they were talking to someone who already had an idea (aka someone in the friend group).
She sent the message before she could back down.
It was finally time to talk with Ena.
Some bullet notes:
I want Mizuki's parents to be accepting of who they are. I want them to see their daughter struggling and be okay with them skipping school. To see their child needs help and are willing to give them that help.
I think that, had they not forced themself into a mold, she wouldn't have gotten dysphoria. At least not bad dysphoria. But because she pushed herself into being a boy, it got worse and worse.
The sad thing about Mizuki's classmates when she was a kid, was that a good chunk of them also wanted to wear pretty things to school, but when their parents found out Mizuki was a "boy" they sent in complaints. They felt like she was "tainting" their kids. And they forbade their children from speaking with her. It didn't matter if she was a child, it was "unnatural for a young boy to mese around with things for little girls. Best have him learn not to use that stuff or else he'll become...one of them." And what's even worse is that many of them got into their kids heads, ultimately leaving Mizuki friendless until they met Rui in middle school and later on Nightcord, and An in highschool.
I honestly feel that Tsukasa would be the one Mizuki relates to the most in terms of their gender identities. Not because they're the same, but because they genuinely understand each other. Neither of them had friends until they met Rui and their respective group members. Both were seen as annoying and as someone you didn't want to be around. The first people they came out to were their families. Mizuki had a bit more time helping her family adjust and learn, while Tsukasa's family was still learning. And, as Toya mentioned, and later on Kanade (which she still doesn't get how that happened, it doesn't help that Kanade insists the Tenmas found her wandering in the park and decided to keep her, but whatever, she knows it was probably something else), it was the big brother thing. He feels safe, and that's enough to make Mizuki feel comfortable confiding in him.
Rui knowing Mizuki was trans before they knew is a nod to my headcanon of Mizuki knowing they liked Tsukasa before he knew (and Tsukasa confirming he liked Rui didn't exactly help, because she couldn't just tell him, she tried once, pointing out how close they were and Rui kept saying Tsukasa had to have meant it as friends, MEIKO save her...)
Mizuki does come out as transfemme nonbinary. Her parents do well to help her adjust when they do. It takes a while before they and her sister can remember her pronouns and name. But they make effort and will start over if they accidentally refer to her by their birth name or by masculine pronouns and/or terms.
Mizuki crying while she comes out is something that comes out of a combination of fear and feeling like a disappointment. They're afraid that not only will her parents reject her, but that they will hate them for taking their son away. Same goes for her sister. She thought she'd hate them for taking away her little brother. It wasn't just ugly crying, she was trembling and having a near panic attack while she tried to come out. She was apologizing over and over, even after being reassured that they still loved them. That being Mizuki and not her old name was okay. They didn't hate her. That they were so proud of her telling them, and how they would have waited for her to be ready, if she had needed more time.
↑ this is mainly the reason why Mizuki didn't come out when Nene, Toya and Tsukasa did. While she wanted to someday, she didn't want to experience that again. To feel like she was ready just to burst into tears and struggle to breath as she told them. It was one of the first things her parents made them promise. That if they thought they were ready but not actually, they would wait until they were in a place where they mentally and emotionally could handle it. Yes, her self identity is important, but it's not worth her health if coming out causes her to feel so, well, afraid.
All of Mizuki's friends will jump in to defend them. Both in class and out. It's what made the decision to come out to them so easy in the end.
Mizuki did consider coming out to everyone at once, but decided last minute there was one person she wanted to tell in person. Only one person. And that was Ena. And yes, she did cry when she did. Yes, it was ugly and the feeling of possibly being rejected, losing the love of their life, hurt. But like her parents, like Yuuki, Ena reassured her. Reminded them that she loves them. That she would always, always, wait for her. She loves her. She loves them. She loves them, she loves them, she loves her.

SERIES MASTERPOST
masterlist
“Girl, even if you don’t win, you’ll surely take the title of the hottest woman on the red carpet tonight.”
Florence’s words make you chuckle, but you try not to move your lips too much as the makeup artist finishes up the last touches on them, using a nude shade.
“Stop, my head is big enough already,” you tell her, giving her a look through the mirror. She is standing a few feet behind you, already wearing her beautiful, golden Versace gown that hugs her perfectly. Her hair is up in a neat bun so her back can be on full display and the diamonds in her ears can also shine brightly. She looks amazing while she is the opposite of what you’ll look like tonight.
Rhonda, the makeup artist has an amazing notion about your look when you showed her the gown you’d be wearing tonight and since the dress is not the sparkly kind, like Florence’s, she went a little heavier with the glitter on your eyes, using mostly whitish-silver colors, creating rosy cheeks and topping it with nude, glossy lips. Your hair is in loose curls with a bunch of extension, creating the illusion that you might as well be Rapunzel herself tonight. But you are the most excited about the gown that’s already waiting for you to be finally put on.
“What time is it?” you ask Florence as you don’t have your phone on you, but she has hers in her hands already.
“We still have half an hour before we have to leave. Dude, I can’t believe you are an Oscar nominee and might turn into a winner tonight!” she sighs, eyes shining bright with excitement. She hasn’t come off of this high for days, so over the Moon that you get to walk the red carpet tonight as a nominee.
“Don’t jinx it, Flo,” you warn her.
There’s a knock on the door of the hotel suit you’ve occupied for the glamming and Florence is quick to rush to it answering, but you both know who it is. As she throws the door open Harry comes to your sight, looking as handsome as ever, wearing his custom made Gucci suit with a pink dress shirt underneath that matches your gown perfectly.
“Florence, you look wonderful!” his british accent fills the room, making you smile. Rhonda sets your makeup with some spray and you’re finally done. Standing up you move your legs around a bit as they went a little numb from all the sitting.
“Thank you! Pink suits you well, Harry,” your friend compliments your man and you watch them smiling.
When Harry’s eyes set on you, the light up, his smile widening from ear to ear. He looks spotless, freshly shaved, his hair recently cut and combed into place for a change. Not that you don’t like it when it’s all tousled and messy, especially when it’s because of your fingers.
“Angel, wow!” he breathes out as he walks up to you, taking your hands in his. You know he wants to kiss you, but doesn’t want to risk messing your lips up, so he is left with admiring you with only his eyes.
“Just wait until you see her in the dress!” Florence chimes in making you chuckle. You kept your dress a secret, wanting to surprise him with the first look. You gave out only the most necessary details for Lambert so the two of you could match.
“You’d be great like this too,” he teases, taking a look at your fluffy robe.
“I’m not going to the Oscars in a robe,” you tell him with a narrow-eyed look.
“I know, I’m just saying that you’d still be stunning,” he mumbles with a boyish smirk.
“Y/N? Time to choose a necklace!” Your stylist, Rupert appears from the room where your gown is hanging. He has a few jewelry boxes in his hands and he sets them all to the coffee table, opening up you are met with four breathtakingly beautiful diamond necklaces, each of them different yet so magical looking, you can’t decide which one you like the most.
“Harry, which one do you like the most?” you ask, kneeling down next to the table, mesmerized by the jewelries in front of you. Harry leans down and inspects them one by one before poking on the last one in the row. It has three rows of diamonds, not too big, the stones in the last row are shaped like water droplets, it’s such an elegant looking piece, it surely caught your eyes as well and you think it would be perfect with the dress.
“This one,” he tells you and you nod, shutting the other boxes, satisfied with the choice.
“Alright, time to get you into the gown, girl,” Rupert winks, gesturing at you to follow him into the room.
“I’ll be right back,” you tell Harry, risking a quick peck on his lips before you disappear in your temporary dressing room.
You fell in love with the gown on the first fitting when Rupert pulled it out, still in the finishing phase. It still has pins in it, but it already took your breath away. It has a massive A-line skirt and a tight upper part that hugs your body perfectly, a row of buttons running down the middle of it. The sleeves are puffy, but then end in a tight run from a little above your wrists, the same set of buttons appearing like on your chest. It’s giving out some Victorian style vibes in a more sophisticated and simpler way, but it’s by far your favorite dress you’ve ever worn to any event.
It surely needs the extra pair of hands from Rupert to put it on, but once you are secured in it, you feel like a princess straight out of a fairytale and surely, your prince is standing on the other side of the double doors.
“Alright! Everyone get ready for the big reveal!” Rupert announces, sneaking out the room so he can open the door for you. He waits a few moments as you hear everyone shuffle around outside, probably lining up to see you walk out in your finished state. “Okay, three! Two! One! Welcome our Oscar nominee!” he cheers, a round of applause is heard before you even appear, but it’s quickly replaced with gasps when Rupert pulls the doors open and they get the first glimpse of you in your gown.
“Holy fuck!” Florence gasps, mouth hanging open as she keeps raking your form up and down. Your eyes find Harry’s gaze and you see him in a state you haven’t often found him in the past almost two years you’ve been dating. He is completely speechless, eyes glued to you in awe as if he just saw an angel in real life.
“Y/N, I—wow,” he breathes out, still at a loss of words.
“You like it?” you ask with a shy smile.
“I fucking love it, baby. You look… You really are an angel,” he tells you, making you chuckle at his words.
“Would you please help me put on the necklace?” you ask him and he nods eagerly, carefully taking the jewelry out of its box and walking behind you, he brings it around your neck, his fingers delicately working on the clasp. Once it’s all set, you step to the floor to ceiling mirror, taking in the final look.
“There won’t be a straight woman left on Earth once you step on the red carpet,” Florence bluntly comments, making everyone in the room laugh.
“Let’s take some photos, I need to immortalize this masterpiece,” Rupert gestures around, already grabbing his camera.
The next ten minutes you take hundreds of photos, alone, with Florence and then with Harry. He still seems a little stunned by your look, feeling shy when he circles his arm around your waist, but it’s cute that you can still have such an effect on him after being together for almost two years.
Florence snaps some with your phone as well, your favorite is when he held your waist and leant you back, making you arch backwards as your noses touched since he couldn’t kiss you. You already know it’ll end up as your lockscreen, replacing the selfie the two of you took on your latest trip to Hawaii.
When it’s time to leave you grab your little purse with your phone and other necessities and the three of you pile up in a minivan, since your dress needs all the space so it doesn’t get wrinkled before you step out to the red carpet.
As you sit in the car and watch the buildings pass by, your nerves start to rise in you. When the nominations came out a month ago it seemed so far, you couldn’t imagine yourself actually attending the Academy Awards, but now here you are, on your way to find out if you’ve been good enough to be the best.
Your role in Sinful Heaven has brought a lot to your life aside from the nomination. The three months of filming was one of the hardest times in your life you’ve ever worked through and at some points, you didn’t even think you’d get through it. Working so closely with Levi took a toll on you while you were trying to prove in such a heavy and serious role. It was a mess especially at the beginning when you and Harry were still in this weird phase, but that eventually turned right when he literally punched Levi in the face and ten minutes later asked you to be his girlfriend. It’s a badass way to start a relationship and you wouldn’t trade it for anything, especially because it put Levi into place or at least scared him enough to get off your back for the rest of the filming.
When Harry left following that visit, you couldn’t see each other until filming wrapped and you flew straight to him and travelled with him for the next two weeks, hopping from one city to the other, watching him perform every other night and spending all your time with him.
When the movie premiered eight months later, you didn’t appear with Harry by your side, Maya was your date for the evening, but by that time everyone knew you and Harry are an official couple. Neither of you felt like hiding it or caring about what others would think and you were able to focus on each other and rely on the strong foundation you’ve built for your relationship.
He was there with you when the nominations came out and probably screamed louder when your name appeared in the list. With tearing eyes and choked out sobs you jumped into his arms as he mumbled into your ear.
“I’m so proud of you, Angel. So, so proud!”
And now you are on your way to the show, only hours away from finding out if your dreams will come true tonight. Harry squeezes your hand and you turn to face him, his soft eyes meeting yours.
“Nervous?” he asks with a small smile.
“Very,” you admit with an airy chuckle.
“Whatever happens tonight, I’m very proud of you. Don’t forget that.”
“Thank you,” you whisper, giving his hand a squeeze back.
Since it’s the first time you and Harry appear on the red carpet as a couple, once you set your feet out of the car, everyone goes nuts. He helps you out and even fixes your dress so it falls just perfectly around your frame before he offers his arm. You link your through it, taking a deep breath as the two of you start walking down the carpet, posing for the photographers.
You feel powerful and strong, like it’s the peak of your career, but you also feel that it wouldn’t be the same without Harry by your side even though he is making sure to let you shine tonight. At one point he even steps back for a moment so photographers can snap you alone and you think it’s such a caring move from him.
You feel a little dizzy from all the flashlights by the time you walk into the theater, Harry holding your hand tightly as he leads you to your seats.
You’ve been to plenty award shows and it’s not even your first Academy Awards appearance either, but for obvious reasons, it’s the most important. Sitting in your plush chair, you can barely stop yourself from continuously fidgeting as one category follows the other and it’s still not yours.
Then following a jaw-dropping performance from Dua Lipa, Chris Evans walks out with a golden statue and an envelope in his hands and your heart skips a beat, but not because of the man himself, but because you know he is the presenter of the Best Actress category.
Your hold on Harry’s hand on your lap tightens and you glue your eyes to the big screens behind Chris as he smiles around.
“Good evening. It’s a pleasure to be here and to present the award for Best Actress. The theater tonight is filled with exceptional talents, but let’s see the nominees,” he speaks into the microphone and then he starts listing the names.
Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway, Margot Robbie and Rooney Mara are called and a camera fixates on each of them when Chris says their names, all smiling brightly and waving around before your name is called at the end. Taking a deep breath you plaster your most wonderful smile across your face, waving around like the other nominees did before the big screen splits, showing the five of you simultaneously.
“We’ve seen some spectacular performances from these ladies and now let’s see who proved herself to be the best this year.”
Chris flips the envelope open and pulls the little paper out that has the winner’s name written on it and for a moment you’re convinced you’ll pass out. You’ve never felt this anxious before and you’re gripping Harry’s hand so tightly you’re surprised he hasn’t pulled it back, but he is patiently putting up with your nerves, his eyes glued to the man on the stage as well.
“And the Academy Award for Best Actress goes to…” Chris starts with a charming smile, holding a short pause before he finally says the name. “Y/N Y/L/N for her role as Marie Davidson in Sinful Heaven!”
Your mouth hangs open, ears ringing as you process that your name was called. Everyone around you jumps up, including Harry, who is screaming just like when the nominations came out, while you are completely blank. It takes you a couple of moments to realize that you in fact just won your first Oscar and everyone is waiting for you to go and get your little statue.
“Baby! Baby you won!” Harry cheers as he helps you up from your seat and you throw yourself into his arms as reality sets in. “I fucking love you, Angel. Go and get your Oscar!” he laughs, pride all over his face as he urges you to walk up to the stage.
“Walk me up, please!” you stammer, not trusting yourself with walking in this fragile state. He offers his hand without a second thought, walking you to the stage where Chris is politely waiting for you to help you up on the stairs.
“Thank you,” you breathe out once you’re finally up on the stage, every set of eyes on you as Chris hands you the little statue.
“Congratulations,” he smiles as the two of you exchange two kisses on the cheeks before he steps aside and lets you give a speech.
You thought about writing a few words beforehand, but you figured if you end up being the winner you’d forget the whole thing, so there would be no use and that’s the case. Your mind is still blank as you look down at the award in your hands, the crowd still cheering on you, giving you a few extra moments to figure out what to say.
“I uhh—I don’t even know what to say, this feels like a dream,” you admit talking into the microphone, the clapping dying down so that everyone can hear your words. “I want to thank to everyone who worked on Sinful Heaven, because I wouldn’t be here without them. To my wonderful director and amazing costars, it’s been such a wonderful journey with you all. Thank you to my friends and family who were there with me from the very start, believing in me when I was losing faith in myself, thank you for never giving up on me. To my parents who I assume are now crying in front of the TV,” you add chuckling softly, imagining your mom and dad in tears as they listen to your words. “This is a wonderful sign to me that I am where I need to be and that I’m on the right path, so thank you for giving me even more motivation to keep me going on my way.”
Your eyes roam around all the guests until they fall on one proud man staring at you in his Gucci suit and pink dress shirt, his green eyes looking glossy as he listens to your words.
“And last but not least, thank you to one special person, because I’m convinced I wouldn’t be here tonight without him. I have one thing to tell you.” Forgetting about everyone in the theater you hold up the Oscar in your hand as you finish your speech: “Never have I ever loved someone like I love you.”
The crowd starts cheering again as you step away from the microphone and Chris is quick to jog up to you and help you down the stairs, Harry rushing back to take your hand once Chris lets go of it.
You catch him wipe a tear off his cheek as the two of you walk back to your seats hand in hand. Once you are settled, you take a deep breath and turn to Harry who is already looking at you, the same proud smile you saw from the stage still on his handsome face.
“I have never,” he tells you as his answer to the last line of your speech and you chuckle as your free hand finds the back of his neck, pulling him close. The lipstick on your lips long forgotten as you finally kiss him for the first time tonight.
“I have never either,” you whisper against his lips before kissing him again and again.
***
Smiling around you wait for the audience to quiet down as you make yourself comfortable in the familiar armchair. It’s such a nostalgic feeling to sit here again.
“Y/N, it’s so nice to have you here again,” Ellen greets you once the clapping has stopped.
“Thank you for inviting me.”
“Of course. A lot has happened since the last time you were here, you won an Oscar just a few weeks ago, congratulations!”
The cheering starts again as a picture of you appears on the screen behind you, wearing your iconic pink gown, holding your Oscar in your hands.
“Thank you,” you shyly smile, still not entirely in peace with the fact that you are now an Oscar winning actress.
“Such a major thing, congrats.”
“Thank you, it is a huge thing, yes.”
“Do you already have a spot for the award? Does it have a designated place?”
“Well, for now it is in my study along with some more mementos, but I’m planning to have a little stand made in the living room,” you share your plans.
“Surely, I would want to show it off if I had an Oscar,” Ellen chuckles. “You have such a busy time behind you, have you been up to something new lately?”
“We finished filming the third season of The Umbrella Academy, so now I’m having a little break before I jump into anything new.”
“Sounds nice, you deserve all the relaxing. Anything planned while you’re on a break? A new book to read, or maybe a concert to go to?” she asks and you already know where this is heading.
“You know you can just ask if I’m planning to attend a Harry Styles concert,” you bluntly tell her, making the audience and Ellen laugh.
“Well, I was just asking around about your plans, but I’m happy you plan to visit Harry’s concert! It’s also good to know that the situation has changed since the last time you were here, you definitely have been to one of his concerts since then.”
“I have been, yes,” you admit smirking.
“And I assume the two of you are now very close, am I right?” she asks and suddenly a paparazzi photo of the two of you appears where you’re walking down the street hand in hand just a couple of weeks ago.
“You could say that,” you nod, biting into your bottom lip.
“Amazing, because he is going to join us now. Everyone, please welcome Harry Styles!” Ellen announces and turning around you spot Harry walking out from backstage, the audience screaming for him. He shyly waves around walking up to the center, greeting Ellen with a kiss on the cheek before he turns to you, pecking your lips shortly as he sits down next to you.
“Harry, so good to see you again,” Ellen smiles at him.
“Good t’ see you as well,” he nods.
“So, the last time you two were sitting here, you—it was the first time you ever met, right?”
“Right,” you nod with Harry.
“And now you are…” she gestures at the two of you, not finishing the sentence, but everyone knows what she meant by that.
“And now we are… not strangers anymore,” Harry says chuckling, making everyone in the studio laugh.
“Certainly,” Ellen nods. “Alright, I thought that we could play another game, just to bring back some nice memories,” she explains, reaching behind her armchair, grabbing the familiar board from her, flipping it in your hands with a nostalgic smile.
“Can we keep it PG rated though?” Harry asks, examining his board before looking up at Ellen.
“No,” she simply answers, reaching for her cards as the audience starts laughing. “Okay, you know how to play it, no need for explanation. Here is the first one: Never have I ever used my fame to get in somewhere.”
Ellen is quick to show the I HAVE side of her board and you slowly do the same while Harry thinks to himself.
“Oh come on, you surely have,” you elbow him playfully as he smirks in your way, holding up the same side as you and Ellen.
“We all have, it’s not a shame,” Ellen shrugs. “Next one. Never have I ever forgotten the name of someone right after they introduced themselves.”
Ellen holds up the I HAVE side and you do the same again while this time Harry flips it over to I HAVE NEVER confidently.
“Really?” Ellen asks him, surprised at his answer.
“I’m good with names,” he simply shrugs.
“That’s a good trait. Alright, let’s move on. Never have I ever punched someone in the face.”
It’s a sneaky and very shady statement. Just a few days after the incident with Levi, word got out that he was punched, a few blurry pictures floating around the internet of his bruise, then fans figured out it had to happen around the time Harry visited set and people were quick to put the picture together and assume that Harry was the one who hit Levi, but it was never confirmed.
Glancing at your boyfriend you are fighting your smile back, holding up the I HAVE NEVER side as he is looking back at you slyly, continuously flipping his board before it finally lands on I HAVE, the audience immediately rumbling at the partial confirmation and seemingly Ellen is also amazed by Harry’s honesty.
“Alright, interesting. Love that for you, Harry,” he comments making everyone laugh as you reach over and give Harry’s hand a squeeze. “Last one,” Ellen announces, reading the last statement from her cards. “Never have I ever fallen in love with someone I played never have I ever with.”
Ellen quickly shows her I HAVE NEVER side as you suck your lips into your mouth, glancing at Harry again. You share a look before you both slowly raise your boards, both reading the same sign on them: I HAVE.

Facing Music: Spencer Reid
Summary: Derek finally decides to tell Penelope how he feels about her and enlists your help in a musical confession. With all this performance and romance in the air, Spencer is inspired to tell the reader how he really feels... but words kinda suck
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader
Warnings/Includes: Confessions (two different ones), kissing, FLUFFY
"Are you sure this'll work?" A very nervous Derek Morgan asked you. It was the annual BAU break outing where the team would head to a fancy restaurant and dine without the burden of a case or a dead person on your shoulders.
This year was pretty much like any other; you'd eaten, talked with, laughed with the team like usual. There was live music and waitresses who complimented your makeup when you walked in. All of you dressed nicely for the occasion. JJ was in a beautiful purple dress next to Emily, whose dress was red, and Penelope, who sported a hot pink getup. Hotch and Rossi wore tux suits, looking particularly nice. Spencer Reid wore a white dress shirt and black blazer, his curly hair slicked and brushed semi-neatly the way it always was. He looked amazing, as per usual...
Derek Morgan, next to you, wore a deep blue suit- one that not many people would be able to pull off. That just left you, in your stunning iridescent dress that shone purple and blue in the ways the light hit you. This was your second year attending this event and everyone seemed to have forgotten how beautiful you were when you weren't hunting down unsubs, gasping when you showed up.
Looping back, Derek Morgan was hardly one to be nervous, however, this event entailed a surprise. One that only you and Derek were in on. "Of course it will, Morgan. Just take a deep breath and envision the outcome. I don't think it can go wrong."
Derek Morgan was confessing his love to Penelope Garcia through a performance. Through a song... and he had enlisted your musical expertise to do it. Sure, you were nervous too, but that was just a little stage fright. Took Derek Morgan long enough to confess, anyway. You were being a friend.
It was all arranged with the restaurant and musicians and you were to go on in five minutes. Derek spun to make sure he looked alright and you shot him a grin. "Derek, it'll be great. She'll love it, just don't dwell on the fact the song is from a children's song because she loves it."
"Children's show?" His face fell into shock. "There's no way, the song is too good..."
"Tell Andre that." You peered out. You were about to sing in front of the BAU, your professional team, with Derek Morgan. I mean, at least it was back up singing but you'd be up there in the light doing the small moves you and Derek worked on for so long. The team looked confused, as you and Derek had excused yourself to go to the washroom and hadn't returned yet.
The musician on the stage waved you on. "Derek, we have exactly twelve seconds before the song begins. It's time!" Your heart raced, but not as bad as his must have been. Derek Morgan climbed onto the stage quietly and you were by his side, flashing him a reassuring grin.
The song was Countdown by Andre from Victorious, Penelope's second favourite character. The team didn't notice you both yet, that was until the drumset hit three times and the song launched into action, diverting the team's attention right up to the stage.
JJ and Emily both covered their mouths with their hands when they saw you and Derek onstage. The song was upbeat, fun, loud, and soon seconds later the rest of the team had your attention. Garcia's mouth fell open in recognition of the song and turning to see Derek up there, she squealed. Hotch's mouth twitched a little and Rossi was already smiling- it seemed they had caught on. But hopefully not onto where the song was from.
Spencer, however, had dropped everything in his hands to watch his best friend confess, his mouth open in that gorgeous unbelieving smile. That's when the lyrics began and the real performance started. You were singing the backup and it was pretty easy, as you'd practiced.
Rossi was clapping along, Hotch was actually smiling and it was a smile like a proud father's. Emily looked at you, mouth open like 'really?' and you nodded back. You were entirely into this, not worrying anymore. You were grinning, exhilarated and performing.
Now, from Spencer's mind, he was surprised. First of all, he wouldn't have expected a song and dance from Derek Morgan tonight of all nights. Secondly, pardon his social cues but if he didn't know better he'd say Derek was confessing to Penelope, gesturing to her over and over as he danced. Third, how could he really focus on Derek when you stood behind him in that dress he liked so much when you walked in?
You were gorgeous to him tonight and it took him quite a lot not to stare at dinner. He watched you laugh with Emily and hid his smile, occasionally jumping in to make a joke about Emily in high school or make fun of the knowledge of you wanting to be a candle-maker in college. You told him it was a phase, scowling at him, but that interaction made his heart skip a beat. He didn't know that you adored him the same way.
He liked you, of course. He had for a while and was constantly kicking himself for accidentally ranting to you, afraid of what you'd think, but every time he did, you just listened. And that worsened his crush.
His eyes fell on you onstage, all-in to the performance in support of Derek who was now walking down the steps of the stage toward Penelope. She was flailing her hands around, freaking out, and you were up there smiling. Spencer's heart skipped another beat.
You can imagine how he felt when your eyes settled on him, noticing how he was looking at you rather than Derek and Penelope and shooting him a small grin as the upbeat song finally came to an end.
Spencer turned pink, watching Derek and Penelope out of embarrassment now. He should have been watching them and now he was caught staring at you in that dress with that intoxicating smile, breathing hard from the ending of it all.
You hopped down the steps and stood behind Derek supportively, the entire restaurant applauding. Spencer was too out of it, too lost in his mind to properly clap as Derek took Penelope under the chin, speaking into the microphone.
"We've spent too long dancing in circles, I think it's high time I tell you that I'm in love with you, babygirl." He announced. "Will you go out with me?"
Garcia took a breath, then squealed, "YES!" And the restaurant broke into applause again. Hotch actually sported a full smile now and Derek pulled into a long kiss. Spencer's mind just raced with ideas as he looked from them to you. As happy as he was for his friends, he couldn't stop thinking about how in the world he would ever confess his feelings for you.
Back in your mind, you watched the two kiss with a grin on your face. "Ew!" You laughed, rocking on your heels. As happy as you were for them you couldn't stop thinking about how nobody would ever do this much for you. You weren't supposed to be jealous of friends... so you shoved that feeling down.
----
When everyone said goodbye in the parking lot, the air was sweet and the spirits were high. Most of the team remarked on your voice and how they had no idea you could sing at all. Hotch pat you and Derek both on the back, leaving happier than you'd all seen him in a while.
Penelope wouldn't stop thanking you, giving you a hug every few seconds. Eventually, she did leave with Derek, leaving you to sit and wait for a taxi. You pulled out your phone and sat on the bench, finding the number of the taxi company.
"I didn't know you could sing..." Spencer's voice said from above you. He had his hands in his pockets and he was rocking on his heels.
You laughed, "Neither did anyone else but Derek, I was surprised when he asked me."
"Can I-uh, sit?" He asked, gesturing to the spot next to you on the bench and you moved to the side to make room. He took it as a yes and sat down next to you. "I knew they'd end up together."
"It was inevitable," you replied, tucking your phone into your pocket to properly engage with Spencer. "One way or another he had to make her his official 'babygirl'."
His smile was a little crooked, but still sweet. Spencer's hands fiddled with each other in his lap and there was a moment of silence between you two. Probably because Spencer was racking his brain for the best way to say 'watching that confession gave me a spark of inspiration to confess that I really, really like you and have since your very first day at the BAU' without scaring you off.
"I-"
"You look-"
You spoke at the same time and both chuckled a little. You looked at Spencer for him to continue, but now he was rethinking again, so you continued. "You look really great tonight, I just wanted to say."
"T-thank you..." Spencer said. His mind was racing for something better to say.
Saying I love you is too much- he thought. Besides, he didn't love you yet. He just really liked you. He was already kicking himself for stuttering and you were just inches from him he could just grab your hand if he wanted to. But how would you react? That was Spencer's main worry. What would he say? How would he ever measure up to Derek's performance and would he even get the chance?
You and Spencer sat on that bench for seven minutes in silence. His inner thoughts were a mess and you were oddly at ease with his presence.
You turned to him and this was the moment his brain glitched. His entire IQ slashed down to about 34 when you looked at him the way you did. Tired, but glowing, was how you looked. Your eyelashes in focus as you looked over at him and rather than his heart skipping another beat, he could swear it stopped. And he malfunctioned.
He leaned forward and kissed you.
It was unexpected to both of you. Spencer didn't even seem to have had a thought about a kiss and you weren't expecting anything remotely like this. The first half-second, thoughts jumbled at the front of your mind, but the next, you kissed him back.
His thin hand came to rest on your jaw and cheek, keeping you in place. His heartbeat had risen in a complete panic as to how this was even happening, but you were here and you were in fact kissing him back. This was a lot better than the words of panicked confession that Spencer had semi-planned out.
So Spencer liked you. You could assume that from the frantic, sudden kiss. The world seemed to slow to allow this event and after about forty seconds of your lips on his, with gentle fingers and soft kissing, you pulled away.
"I'm-I'm sorry about that..." Spencer said, shrinking back a little. "I didn't even mean to, it was- it was on impulse, I didn't even think it through-"
But you kissed him again on your own will. It was your turn to go without thinking. His hand right back on your face and another good few moments passing of just that kiss. He pulled away this time, a grin spreading up his face. "Is this confession enough because words really suck," You smiled.
He went to speak and you kissed him again. He just started laughing that silent laugh, "Most effective way to shut me up and yes, words su-" he cut himself off by kissing you again and that lead to you both laughing through it. You hadn't seen Spencer this laid back and happy for a while- as you hadn't seen the rest of the team happy either. It felt good to be this close with him, to make him laugh. It felt good to have given the team something to be happy about.
The night just got better, it seemed, from the very start. And you kissed Spencer a lot more than you had anticipated, but that was alright because he wasn't expecting that either. It seemed like Derek and Penelope weren't the only ones with feelings out in the open now.
"How long?" You asked after a while of not letting each other talk. Spencer offered you a ride home and you walked to his car with him.
"Since your orientation," Spencer answered, cringing a little. Your eyes widened. "I remember you wore... a bell-sleeved blouse and flared dress pants. You asked me where to get tea." His car unlocked.
You gaped, "And I didn't know for two years?"
"I suppose not..." he chuckled. "And how long have you been trying to convince yourself not to like me?"
"Never." You hopped into the passenger's seat. "I was always just confused and never really knew what to do with it. But... I'm now a lot less confused."
He paused before turning the key to start the engine. You wondered what thought had slipped into his vast mind. He looked up at you, hair coming undone from its styling. "Are you... happy?"
"Completely." You replied with zero hesitation and he exhaled hard, seemingly of relief. "And I want to be with you... if you let me." You continued warily, but mostly with reassurance.
His cheeks flushed in the dark again. "Yes- I- wow..." He couldn't seem to form words, but that was okay. Words sucked. Words really, really did suck.
Everything worked out perfectly.

--
The night of the visitation, it rained. Like a kick to the gut, a painful reminder of what it was like to fall in love…now was only a soothing presence to losing love.
The old umbrella in her hand didn’t help either. It was his. Adrien’s. The very same he gave her that day over ten years ago.
Marinette had agonized over what to wear for too long. It was a wake, so black, right? She had this outfit picked out and everything. A sharp blazer over her little black cocktail dress, with black pumps. Even though it was a wake, it was a wake for her boss, one of the most influential fashion moguls in the world, and she would be taking his place. She had to look her best.
But then, she changed her mind. It was a social event, yes, and she would be in the public eye and representing the brand, true!
But it felt gross.
The cocktail dress was too sexy for a wake, and wearing that much black made her look goth.
It just wasn’t right.
Then she saw the dress. A rose pink, knee length dress that flared out as it went down. It had little black polka dots on it.
And it was Adrien’s favorite. He said so every time she wore it.
Too peppy for a wake. Too casual, too fun and flirty. But a black cardigan over it, and she felt perfect.
She could almost hear his voice as she posed in the mirror.
“I love that dress on you. You look so cute, Marinette.”
It made tears spring to her eyes.
So no makeup then. Because she knew she would be crying a lot more tonight.
“Don’t forget to pack tissues,” Tikki reminded, helpfully.
“Right, thank you, Tikki.” She tucked the little package in her purse.
With one last pass of the brush through her hair, she was ready.
So now she stood outside of the manor, the gate open.
Well folks, I'm goin' down to St. James Infirmary
See my little baby there
She's stretched out on a long, white table
Well she looks so good, so cold, so fair
The paparazzi stood nearby with their cameras, ready to swoop in like vultures.
She must have paused for too long, because they descended on her quickly, shoving mics in her face and asking questions.
Didn’t they know why she was here? Didn’t they know what she was going through?
An arm reached around her shoulders and started leading her forward. “Alright everyone, that’s enough! Can’t you see she’s not in the mood?” Her rescuer shouted.
The reporters didn’t pass through the gate, as that would have been trespassing. So thankfully, the crowd was left behind as they moved forward.
“Thank you,” she said to the unfamiliar man.
“Of course, Miss Dupain-Cheng.” He nodded.
“You know me?”
“I know of you. Head intern to Gabriel Agreste himself, if I’m not mistaken. I’m from Harper’s Bazaar.”
“Oh...a reporter.”
“Yes, but I really was just here as a guest to pay my respects. I’ve interviewed both Gabriel and Adrien a few times.”
“I see.”
He led her into the house.
Let her go, let her go, God bless her,
Wherever she may be,
She will search this wide world over,
But she'll never find another sweet man like me.
She was early, as Nathalie had instructed. No other guests were here. Just funeral staff, some family, and two steel caskets.
Two steel closed caskets.
Might make retrieving Adrien’s ring a bit of a problem, but not seeing his face…cold, motionless, and waxy would keep her somewhat sane.
The man walked with her right up to the casket, the one with Adrien’s picture next to it.
“It’s a shame. That much skill, the absolute genius spread between the two of them. The world as a whole will never be the same.”
“Yeah.”
“Any idea what’s going to happen next? Not that this is an interview, I’m just curious.”
She shrugged, “well, I’ve been offered the position, and everyone wants me to take it...but it’s so…”
“Overwhelming?”
“Yes.” She rested her hand on the casket. “I wish I could have a moment alone with him.”
“Let me see what I can do.” He smiled, then he called louder, to the room. “The lady would like a few minutes alone, if possible.”
“Is she family?” A staff member asked.
“This is Madam Dupain-Cheng, she’s the successor to Gabriel’s empire. She’s practically family!”
There was no arguing with that, and the group of staff members filed out into the adjacent dining room.
“Thank you,” Marinette called to the man, still not getting his name.
“Don’t worry about it darling.” And he followed them out.
Marinette glanced around the room, just to make sure she was alone. “Tikki?”
“I’m here!”
“I need you to keep watch.” The casket had two doors, one on top that would have been open if this was a regular visitation, and one over the legs. She slid the flower arrangement on top over to the bottom section and ran her hand over the edge. She pulled up slightly, and as she feared, it was sealed.
“It’s locked,” she lamented.
“Let me try!” Tikki zipped around the casket, and a moment later, it clicked and the cap opened ever so slightly.
Marinette took a deep breath as her fingers curled under the lip.
“What are you waiting for?”
“Just…I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to see what he looks like. I don’t want to…” but she put her reservations on hold, and pushed the lid up.
She choked out a startled gasp. “Oh no…”
Now, when I die, bury me in my straight-leg britches,
Put on a box-back coat and a stetson hat,
Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my watch chain,
So you can let all the boys know I died standing pat.
Instead of the mangled body of her true love, there was only a pile of sandbags.
Tikki, also horrified, went over to Gabriel’s casket and phased inside. Then she popped out, “this one is the same!”
Marinette closed the lid and moved the flowers back into place, her mind moving at a mile a minute. Vaguely, she heard the click of the casket as Tikki put it to rights.
Marinette was panicking, but quickly calmed herself down. This didn’t mean anything malicious, not yet. Maybe they were cremated and the family wanted to keep it a secret. Or because there’s no graveside service, their bodies had already been buried.
Who was she kidding, something was definitely going on.
A mystery that was just aching to be solved, but her first priority was to retrieve Adrien’s ring.
“--A moment alone!” A voice shouted from the dining room.
Marinette whirled around in time to see Felix storming towards her. Did he know? Was she caught?
He brushed past her, “move.” And went directly to the casket, grabbing the lip like she had.
“Please sir! You’ll damage the casket!” One of the funeral home staff rushed and grasped Felix by the shoulder. “It’s shut and locked, it can’t be opened again.”
“I didn’t get to say goodbye!” Felix snarled. “Look at him!” He pointed at the photo on display next to the casket. “He has my face! I deserve to see him one last time!”
“Sir...he doesn’t look like that anymore. It would be very disturbing to see his remains.”
Disturbing indeed, considering Adrien wasn’t in there at all.
Amelie was quick to join the group and she consoled her son. “We talked about this. You knew it was going to be a closed casket.”
“They said the family had time alone. I just...wanted to say goodbye, face to face.” He shook his head and scowled. “He deserved that, at least.”
Marinette made herself small, feeling like an intruder in this family crisis. But Amelie still saw her and brought her in for a hug.
“How are you holding up, dear?” She asked, pulling away slightly.
“I’m…I’ve been better.”
“Of course, I’m so sorry for your loss.”
Marinette had met Amelie and Felix more than a few times working at Gabriel. As the years went on, they came to visit more and more often. Amelie was always insistent that she call her ‘Aunt Amelie’ like Adrien. It felt weird to break the habit now.
“Isn’t pink a little too festive for the occasion?” Felix bit. The red from anger in his cheeks had faded. Now he just sounded bitter.
It was Adrien’s voicebut not. It was a shame Felix sounded so much like him.
He looked just like him too, minus the slicked back hair and glasses.
“Adrien really loved this dress,” Marinette whispered. “I know it’s not—I just—“
His face softened slightly, relieved that she had Adrien in mind, and not fashion. “Sounds fine to me.”
Even after the disastrous first encounter they had, Felix and Marinette never became friends. He and Adrien certainly got along, or at least appeared to, but Felix and Marinette were only ever cordial.
It was a wake, after all. He should be nice. He gave her a small smile, one that looked eerily similar to Adrien’s.
Before she could stop herself, she was hugging him.
He didn’t smell like Adrien at all. He smelled like clean cat litter and laundry detergent, not spicy cologne and the smallest hint of cheese. Belatedly, she realized the cheese smell was probably Plagg’s doing.
“Uh…” He said awkwardly, before sighing and patting her on the back.
“I’m sorry,” she pulled away. “Even though…” she trailed off with a blush, embarrassed with what she had done. “You just look like him.”
“I know,” he shrugged. “I worried about coming. I’m prepared for people to see me and burst into tears. Or hug me, like you did. I get it. As much as I would like otherwise, I’m willing to tolerate it for today.”
“That’s kind of you.”
His face softened further. “You loved him, didn’t you?”
Amelie gasped. “Felix! You can’t just ask things like that!”
“It’s okay,” Marinette assured, hugging herself. “You’re right. I was—am. I still love him, even though he’s gone.”
“And…you know what happened?”
She nodded. “It sucks. And I really wish I could allow one terrible action to wipe everything away…but I knew him. These last two weeks he wasn’t himself. He was cruel to me in a way I had never seen. It just…it wasn’t Adrien.”
Felix gave her a critical look. “I always assumed my cousin couldn’t hurt a fly. It’s…bizarre, what happened.”
“It’s not public knowledge,” Amelie reminded. “And it should stay that way.”
“Who are we protecting by lying about it? The ‘Brand’? The family? Adrien himself?”
“What are they saying, anyway?” Asked Marinette.
“They’re saying both Adrien and Gabriel died from an in-home accident.”
“Vague,” said Felix. “Suspicious.”
“But better than ‘unknown causes’ at least,” said Marinette. “Maybe it’s selfish, but I want Adrien to be remembered for all the good he did…” As Chat Noir, her brain added, “and not the demons he faced in the end.”
“Still, I can’t help but wonder what made him snap,” he mused, looking at Marinette. “Do you have any idea what may have caused it?”
Her mind went back to two weeks, when he had asked her to dinner. He was nervous, and told her he had something to tell her.
And then that phone call a few nights ago. What had he said? Something about the basement?
“I’m…not sure. I’d have to think about it.”
“Perhaps you two could consider this mystery another day? Not during the visitation?” Amelie urged.
“Sorry mom, you’re right.” He glanced back at Marinette. “If you have anything on this, I’d love to hear it. I care deeply for Adrien, and honestly, I’m highly suspicious of these circumstances.”
Amelie huffed. “Darling, you heard Nathalie, what she saw, what the police found, it’s pretty cut and dry…”
“People don’t just murder their father’s for no reason! Especially with supposedly flawless mental health!”
The room grew quiet, as Felix’s outburst was louder than intended. Thankfully, guests had yet to arrive.
“Sorry. This whole thing…I’ve had enough of death in this lifetime.” He cleared his throat. “I need some water.”
When he left, Amelie squeezed her shoulder. “Don’t let Felix get to you. It’s just hard for him. He has so much in common with Adrien, it’s a little scary for him.”
Oh. That made sense. Fear he’d snap too?
“It was sudden for everyone. We’re all going through it.”
“They said you were having a moment alone with Adrien. I'll let you get back to it.” She squeezed her shoulder and left her in peace.
So now Marinette was left to wonder what she could possibly do. Where to even start? She didn’t need anymore time with an empty casket.
An' give me six crap shooting pall bearers,
Let a chorus girl sing me a song.
Put a red hot jazz band at the top of my head
So we can raise Hallelujah as we go along.
There were a few more guests now, but it was still a little early. She saw a man in a suit arranging flowers. He had a name tag on his lapel.
As casual as she could, she snuck over to him. “Excuse me, are you the funeral director by chance?”
“Oh? Yes I am. Bill Hunkerson, at your service. How can I help?”
She had to phrase this very carefully, to not be suspicious. “I’m a very close friend of Adrien’s. He was wearing a silver ring when he died. It doesn’t actually belong to him, and I was wondering if I could have it back.”
The man turned pale, but plastered on a smile. “Well, he’s probably wearing it now. Unfortunately, after we close the casket, we can’t open it again.”
She knew that was a big fat lie. And Marinette hated liars.
She lowered her voice. “Well, since his body isn’t actually in the casket, it shouldn’t be that hard, should it?”
The man stared at her, wide eyed, no longer smiling. “How did you—“ He frowned. “Look miss, I’m just doing what I’m paid for. I don’t know anything. That ring is probably gone forever, and I’d stop this search now.” He straightened his tie and bowed his head slightly. “If you’ll excuse me.”
Marinette opened her purse when she was alone. “I don’t know about you, Tikki, but I’ve got a bunch of red flags and alarm bells going off inside my head.”
“This isn’t good! We need to get that ring!”
“We need to find out what happened to Adrien’s body!”
“Yes, of course, that too!”
Marinette gnawed at the inside of her cheek. “Hey, no offense to Plagg, but wouldn’t he know to bring the ring back to me? If he can’t remove it, then wouldn’t he come tell me about it?”
Tikki’s eyes widened. “You’re right! If he died under normal circumstances, yes…but if he was transformed when he died…”
“Then what?”
“Plagg probably would be forced back into the ring. That’s probably why he didn’t come!”
“Now I’m even more worried and confused.” Marinette crossed her arms. “What if Adrien isn’t actually dead?”
“What do you mean?”
“What if…he ran away? And Gabriel made it out like he died? What if Gabriel’s still alive too?”
“It’s a theory, but I don’t know how well it will hold water.”
She studied the room again, trying not to draw attention to herself. She was supposed to be grieving after all.
Felix sat in the chairs over by the stairs, his back to the growing crowd.
Even if they didn’t really get along, two skeptics working together would be better than each on their own.
“Do you mind if I join you?” She asked.
“I suppose not.” He sighed.
Marinette sat in the chair next to him, and sat quietly for a moment, trying to decide how to proceed. She didn’t want to reveal her whole hand, but maybe playing a few cards would be to her advantage.
Felix beat her to it. He let out a weak chuckle. “I hate this family.”
What an awful thing to say at wake. “Why’s that?” She asked calmly.
“They die too quickly. It sounds so awful, I know. But it’s just my mother and I now. Grandparents are long gone, then my Aunt Emilie, then my father, and now them. It sucks and I’m sick of stupid funerals.”
“It must be hard. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah, well...I’m a pro at it now.” He was resting his cheek on his hand, and was staring at the corner of a wall, just pointedly avoiding eye contact. Still, she could see he had red in his eyes. Though she chose to ignore it. Felix seemed to be the type to hide his tears.
“You know...the last time I talked to Adrien, he told me to check the basement.”
This piqued Felix’s curiosity enough for him to look at her. “Basement? What basement?”
“I suppose here, but I haven’t had the chance to, since you know…all this going on.”
“That doesn’t make any sense. I used to come to this house all the time. It doesn’t have a basement.”
“So…maybe at the company?”
“Could be. I wouldn’t know.”
“Okay, I just wondered...since you were family…”
He growled. “Yeah, some family.”
“Do you...want to talk about it?” She offered, really hoping he would take the bait.
He chuckled again, no humor in his tone. “Might as well, no one around left to hide things from.” He leaned back in the chair. “Gabriel is...was a very private person. I tried to love him, since he was my uncle, but he did a very good job at keeping us at a distance. Adrien was the opposite. We talked often, even when his mom and my dad died and things got rough. Sometimes, it didn’t feel like we were welcomed here. But Adrien so wanted a connection. I could feel it in his hugs when we visited. He was starving, Marinette.”
Marinette willed herself not to start crying.
“Mom and I were told by Nathalie that Adrien and Gabriel were caught in a murder-suicide, as enacted by Adrien, early in the morning on the 23rd.”
“Did she tell you where the murder-suicide happened?”
“Nope, just that it happened in this house. As the only living relatives, she asked if we could come and help with the funeral arrangements.”
“Were you involved in all of it?”
“I thought mom and I did all of it together, but there was one thing that Nathalie insisted on and wouldn’t budge.”
“What’s that?”
“Gabriel is going to be interred in the Agreste family mausoleum, but Adrien…” he sighed with disgust. “As punishment, he’s getting an unmarked grave.”
“What!?”
“That was the compromise. The truth about the murder-suicide, which I am believing less and less, would be withheld from the public as long as Adrien was…effectively erased from the family line.”
She couldn’t help the tears that burst forth. “But that’s not fair! He didn’t do anything wrong! He couldn’t’ve!”
“Yeah kid, I know. I agree.” He scowled. “It makes me sick. I hate it. Adrien was suffering in life, and now he’s going to suffer in death.”
“You don’t think he did it?”
“Do you?”
She shook her head. “I can’t. I know what’s been said, and what people saw...but it just can’t be true.” And she had evidence to prove it, in the form of that empty casket.
“You won’t mention I said any of this to my mom, right? She’s also having a hard time, but she tells me I’m in denial.”
“I won’t say a word.”
Folks, now that you have heard my story,
Say, boy, hand me another shot of that booze;
If anyone should ask you,
Tell 'em I've got those St. James Infirmary blues.

hi! could i request prompts #39, #45 and #74 for a zuko x reader fic with a modern au that takes place on halloween, with the gaang and everyone dressing up for halloween? with the reader and zuko already being really good friends and a part of the gaang?
prompt 39: spin the bottle kiss prompt 45: passionate kiss prompt 74: kisses where one person is sitting in the other’s lap ___
You’d been chatting with Katara, complimenting her cute 70′s themed costume, and just blabbering on in tipsy delight. However in the middle of your conversation about one of your classes, your eyes caught sight of the door opening, and in walked your favorite person.
“Zuko!” You cheered, grabbing your drink off the counter and excusing yourself from Katara so you could be the first to greet him.
He smiled sheepishly as you bounded up to him, the hood of your alien onesie flopping your head.
“I’m so glad you’re here!” You said happily, giggling as you threw your arms around his neck.
He nervously reciprocated the hug, not wanting to spill your drink or overstep his boundaries.
“Did I miss anything?” He asked, glancing around the room, but inevitably looking back down at you, because nothing could capture his attention like you did.
“Sokka and Aang are in a competition to see who can do the most casual backflips,” You said in all seriousness. “There’s still time to catch up if you want to join”
Zuko just laughs, and shakes his head, and you’re quick to jump topics.
“What are you dressed as, anyways?” You asked, poking at the leather jacket he wore.
“I’m an emo phase,” Zuko said, looking down at his black clothes and ripped jeans combo. “Is it not obvious?”
“It’s more of a sexy bad boy vibe,” You giggle.
His face flushes pink at the comment, but you don’t notice.
“I have a great idea though! Come with me”
You grab his hand and you’re pulling him into the apartment. He barely had time to greet Suki and Ty Lee in passing before you bringing him into the bathroom.
“How do you feel about eyeliner?” You asked, setting your half empty drink on the counter so you could pick through your makeup drawer.
“Uh...”
“Sit,” You prompt, softly pushing him down onto the toilet. “You’re too tall, I can’t reach your face and keep a steady hand”
He does as you say, and forgets that he should go say hi to his friends while you carefully pull the brush from the black tube.
“Is this really necessary?” He asks, but bites his tongue as you lean in close to him.
You smell sweet, like fruit or candy. He wonders if it’s your shampoo or your perfume, or it’s both and it’s just your natural splendid scent-
“Absolutely,” You murmur, vote quiet so you could keep your focus. “Now shut your eyes”
Again, he complies, and you steadily drag the brush over his eyelid. For being fairly tipsy, your hand his still, and the liquid applies smoothly.
“Perfect,” You hum, proud of yourself, and Zuko opens his eyes.
You’re so close it’s impossible not to think about kissing you, but at the thought a blush crawls up his neck and he wishes you would move away so you wouldn’t see.
“Now look up,” You direct. “I’m going to do some under too, make sure the goth-ness really stands out”
He nods, speechless, and looks as far up as he can.
But then your hand slides over his cheek so you can maneuver his face properly, as well as keep yourself steady, and he’s looking back at you again.
“Hey, up” You scold teasingly, and hastily he’s following your order.
He’s not sure that you’re aware of it, but as you apply more makeup, the thumb on his cheek is caressing him in smooth circles. It’s somehow calming, while still making his heart race.
You did that to him a lot.
You’re slower this time, worried about getting it in his eye, but it’s over all too soon, and you’re pulling away from him with a grin.
“Perfect!” You cheer again, capping your eyeliner and putting it back into the drawer. “You look very edgy”
Zuko stands to look in the mirror, and it’s odd, but he can’t deny that you did an excellent job and it definitely makes him look more emo.
“Do you like it?” You ask, picking your glass up and taking a tentative sip.
He looks down at your hopeful eyes, and smiles before nodding.
“You’re right, it’s perfect, thank you”
“Great! Let’s show the others!”
And so you’re taking his hand again and weaving through the small crowd in search of your close friends, Sokka and Aang in particular, because you know they’ll get a kick out of it.
“Who are all these people?” Zuko asked after passing too many unfamiliar faces.
“Katara and I invited some people from school,” You told him nonchalantly. “I didn’t think a halloween party would be such a hit, but I guess people love ‘em more than I thought!”
“Well if you invited them then I’m sure they do” He mutters.
It’s a vexed comment, but you look up at him with a bashful sort of smile, and the implication in his words has him blushing again.
You giggle, and do him the favor of not saying anything about it, instead finally catching sight of Sokka and quickly pulling Zuko over to him.
“Sokka, look!” You say eagerly, pushing Zuko forward to show the boy the excellent job you did on his makeup. “I gave Zuko eyeliner!”
Sokka cheers loudly, and hugs you with pride.
“Zuko, you look beautiful,” He gushes playfully. “You should be so proud of your date here”
Sokka’s, well, hammered, but still the comment throws Zuko off, and he begins to stammer. No real words came out, but luckily you came to his defense.
“Sokka, stop teasing,” You say, and bring your hand up to Zuko’s arm. “We’re gonna go get a couple drinks and then let’s hang out, okay?”
“Alright, I’ll find Suki and the others, meet in the living room in a couple minutes?”
You agree, and then you’re bringing Zuko with you to the kitchen.
You tended to do this at parties, even ones where it’s just your small tight-knit group of friends. You stuck by his side and rarely ever broke off from him. At first he’d thought you were doing him a kindness, because he was award and not always great at small talk. But after a few parties, he started to get the feeling that you genuinely enjoyed his company, and chose for your own reasons to stick by his side.
“What’s your poison?” You asked him as you reached the kitchen, which was littered with every alcohol known to man, as well as dozens of red plastic cups, some used, some new, Zuko wasn’t sure it mattered.
“I’ll just have whatever you’re having” He says, and you grin.
“Suit yourself”
He realizes quickly as you pour a generous amount of shots into a cup that you’re making your drinks strong, and he takes over for you.
“Why don’t you let me do that?” He says, taking the bottle from your hands and setting it down, before pouring half the alcohol in your into a second cup for himself.
You make a face, but don’t protest while he adds in the soda, and hands you your weaker drink.
You take his hand again as you both make your way to the living room, where most of your friends have already gathered.
Sokka and Suki share one corner of the sofa, Aang and Katara on the other, both couples hogging the whole space.
Ty Lee had claimed the recliner for herself, sitting in it sideways, her legs thrown over the arm rest. Mai was at her feet, the girls sharing their drinks and whispering amongst themselves.
That left the loveseat, if you could call it that because it was so small, but you didn’t mind as you dragged Zuko along and plopped down onto the cushions with him.
Without a second thought, you moved in close to him and threw your legs over his lap. You did it so casually you’d think that you always sat this way. But that wasn’t the case, in fact Zuko’s not sure you’ve ever been this close to him before, and his heart does a somersault.
“So what are we playing?” You asked, taking a sip of your drink, and then a longer more dramatic drink while making eye contact with Zuko because you could barely taste the alcohol.
He rolls his eyes and playfully flicks your arm, before turning his attention back to Sokka, who’s deciding on a game.
“Let’s play something old fashioned,” He decides, and he’s smirking at everyone as he raises his beer bottle, before pausing dramatically.
Suki nudges him, prompting him to continue his thought since no one knew what he was talking about.
“I say, spin the bottle!” He declares loudly, enough to get a few other people’s attention, and now the group grows a little bigger.
“Really?” Suki mutters, glaring at her boyfriend.
“Well I won’t be playing, I'll just be moderator” Sokka argues. The girl rolls her eyes, but goes with it anyways.
“Spin the bottle? Isn’t that kinda immature?” Aang asks.
“I think it’s fun!” Ty Lee chimes in. “I’ll play!”
With that, a couple more boys come to sit around in the living room.
You stifle your giggle in your hand at the way Ty Lee so effortlessly had men flocking to her. You always admired her for it.
“Fine. I’ll play” Mai sighs, leaning back against the chair Ty Lee sat in.
“You guys in?” Sokka asks, looking to you and Zuko.
“Oh, no,” You shake your head and put your hands up in defense. “It’s not for me, I’m spoken for,”
Zuko perks up at this, turning to you with a confused look because since when did you have a boyfriend? Or a girlfriend? You were seeing somebody and didn’t tell him?
He’s about to ask you a multitude of questions, probably all at once in a messy fashion, but you’re speaking up before he can.
“But you’ll play, right?” You ask him eagerly.
He wants to say no, because games like these are stupid and the only person in this room he’d actually want to kiss just said that she was spoken for, but you give him an encouraging nod, so he shrugs his shoulders.
“I guess” He mutters.
As Sokka goes over the rules and sets the bottle in the middle of the floor, you notice Zuko practically deflating into the sofa. When you give him a worried look, he doesn’t meet your gaze, so you’re not sure what his issue is.
You decide to wiggle in closer, your legs bent at the knees and resting against his chest comfortably, and your head laying on the sofa cushion right next to him.
At your close proximity, he can’t help but look over at you, only to find your eyes already set on his.
“It’s just a game, Zuko,” You whisper cheerily. “Lighten up a little, have some fun”
You give him a sweet smile, and he doesn’t have the heart to tell you that some old school kissing game isn’t what’s eating away at him.
He returns your smile, albeit faintly, before putting his attention back on the game.
A couple of strangers kiss, Mai and Ty Lee share a kiss, and Aang spins the bottle once, using his airbending to make sure it lands on Katara. That gets a laugh out of everyone as the waterbender gives him a dramatic smooch on the cheek.
The game is dumb, but it’s amusing to Zuko because you keep giggling and cheering for everybody, and everytime you laugh, the sound vibrates through him, and he forgets that his window of opportunity for asking you out had been shut.
He’s kicking himself, but he knows he shouldn't be. Deep down, he knew that he never would have made a move, no matter how affectionate you were, or how much time you spent together. The fact of the matter was he was too anxious about ruining a great friendship to make his feelings for you known.
But still, his heart ached a little as you rested your head on his shoulder.
He can’t help but wonder why you’re so cuddled up to him if you’re spoken for, but he’s not so big of an idiot that he’d ask you such a thing.
You whisper something, but he doesn't catch it because he’s so lost in thought.
“What?” He whispers back, eyes flickering down to you.
“You should stay over,” You repeat yourself. “Katara and I thought it’d be nice to have everyone stay over for scary movies- not everyone, just, you know, us,” You tell him, and he knows what you mean. “But you should stay”
His eyebrows furrow in the slightest, and you lift your head to ask what’s wrong.
“What about your boyfriend?” He asks, quietly, and although it’s subtle, you can hear the venom in his voice.
Despite the comment, you giggle quietly, shaking your head at him.
There’s a crease between his brows now from how much tension he has in his face, and you fondly reach out to rub your thumb between them, easing them from their furrow.
There’s no time to ask you what is so funny, because suddenly Sokka is snapping in his face.
“Hey! Lovebirds! You spinnin’ or not, Zuko?”
Your hand falls from Zuko’s face, and you sit back into your comfortable position now that the whole room has their eyes on you.
Not, he wants to say, but he grumbles in agreement as he reaches his leg out, kicking the bottle into a spin with his boot. You, among a few others, are giggling at the action, and while Zuko is distracted by the sound, Aang sends a little burst of wind at the bottle.
A couple people notice it, but they keep it to themselves as the bottle slows to a stop.
It’s pointed back at you and Zuko, and he flusters.
“Okay, s-someone else’s turn” He stammers.
“What? But it’s pointed right at (y/n)!” Sokka shrieks, gesturing wildly at you.
Zuko turns to you for a quick moment, almost apologetic, but as soon as he meets your eyes, he does a double take.
You’re smiling at him, and you lean up off the couch and straight your posture.
There’s whispers around the room, as well as music blasting and the chatter of the party goers who weren’t playing the game, but Zuko couldn’t hear anything over his heart pounding.
You get closer to him, your eyes noticeably flickering down to his lips before you’re wrapping your arms around his neck, painstakingly slow.
You pull your bottom lip between your teeth before you glance back up at Zuko, a nervous blush dusting over your cheeks.
For once, you’re the one blushing over him, and it brings him so much joy.
So in a quick move, his free hand reaches up to your face, thumb proving your lip from your teeth, instantly, you shoot forward, meeting his lips in a heated kiss.
All thoughts and reason flew out the window, and Zuko could barely set his drink down before taking you in his arms and bringing you as close to him as you could be.
Whoops and hollers surrounded you both, mostly from your friends, but a few bystanders were just happy to see someone getting some.
When you pull away, you’re winded, and Zuko’s hair is all over the place, but neither of you care.
As soon as the kiss ends, the game picks back up, and your peers go back to their meaningless conversations and dancing. It gives you a sense of privacy, even in the crowded room.
“I just didn’t want to kiss anyone else,” You explained yourself in a murmur, your hands cupping around Zuko’s face. “That’s why I said I was spoken for”
He chuckles, pushing the hair out of your face and bringing you in close again.
“Why didn’t you just say that?” He asked, and you shrugged your shoulders.
“Cause I didn’t think you’d kiss me if I’d asked you to” You replied.
“Well, you must have had more to drink then I thought,” He says teasingly, making you laugh as your forehead rests against his. “Because I don’t want to kiss anyone else either”
Your lips curl into a smile as your eyes flutter shut so he could kiss you again, this time softer, as you both took your time getting used to the new and exhilarating feeling.
You spent most of the rest of the night on that little sofa, lazily making out and drinking, as well as being made fun of by Sokka for it taking so long for the two of you to fess up your feelings.
Of course, you wouldn’t have had it any other way. ___

Explicitly reversed
Characters: Kim Seokwoo I Rowoon x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Smut
Words: 1955
Summary: Seokwoo was the sweetest and most wholesome so you didn't question him twice when he took you to an empty conference room after a long day to fuck you.
A/N: Once I started typing, I didn't stop and its safe to say that this is pretty hot 🔥
Whenever I write, I insert the gifs first that I think would suit the idea I have in mind for the fic and then use them as inspiration to write the scenarios. Imagine Seokwoo kissing you based on how he looks in the first gif (😋😁)
Drops of sweat beaded down his temples and from the distance, you could tell how much effort he'd put into their stages. Dressed in a monochrome light blue jumper with straps that tied around his torso and matching dark blue trousers, he walked through the hallways after the performance ended.
Having left a little earlier to reach the changing rooms before the boys, he walked towards you and your assistant who extended her arms to pat the sweat from his face dry. You on the other hand got ready to remove the makeup from his face.
Looking for the essentials, you heard a giggle but your eyes didn’t shift to the source of the sound. You already knew what this was and at first it phased you but later on, you started to find it funny.
Your assistant was new and almost subtly, she’d drop hints about how attractive she found Rowoon. Your point was that Seokwoo was so used to being treated like this that he just considered it normal.
Turning to him, you started on the process, eyes widening internally when you heard her murmur a little, ‘’Pretty’’. It was way more common than you thought for makeup stylists to compliment someone’s skin, just like how a director did the same when they managed to achieve a good shot through the artist’s acting.
‘‘He is pretty isn’t he?’‘ you asked with a bright smile adorning your face as you looked at him. He reflected your smile, the corners of his mouth tugging upwards. His eyes met yours in the mirror as he beamed and you were barely able to suppress the grin from your face.
They were right when they said that there wasn’t a lot of time because it didn’t leave a lot of explicit moments between you and Seokwoo. The matter of whether you’d do anything that would jeopardise both your careers was quite a complicated matter. On one hand, you both struggled quite a lot to get to where you were but if it came to the edge, you’d hold his hand and stand by his side.
He drummed his fingers on his thigh, sitting patiently for you to finish. As the makeup came off, you were literally staring at a masterpiece but coincidentally, you didn’t find a lot of chances to tell him this.
It took long for the room to clear and by that time, you had finished and were ready to go. An opportunity presented itself in the form of your assistant leaving and no one was around you. Your heart rate sped up as soon as you noticed this, Seokwoo poking your thigh and then quickly retracting his hand to tell you Hello? We’re alone.
‘‘What?’‘ you whispered, eyes shining as you looked around one more time. ‘‘I have something to tell you when we get home’‘ he whispered back, straightening his back when Inseong walked up to the two of you.
Nodding towards you, you gave him a smile, collecting your stuff and signalling that you’d be leaving. Seokwoo noticed this, his eyes following your steps before turning to Inseong and bothering him back. If you weren’t so anxious then you would have missed his line of sight that fluttered to your ass for a split second.
Is that what he wants?, you thought to yourself as everyone cleared out of the room a little while later to the cars. You got into separate vans, taking out your phone when you heard a buzz reading, ''They're calling me to the main building, I'll see you there''. Texting him a quick response, you pocketed the phone as your co-worker began to speak about something nonchalantly.
Getting off at the main entrance, you walked in with Jaeyoon, Rowoon, Taeyang, Chani and your colleagues following closely. You were all engaged in conversation as Chani spoke to you about the stage and even managed to show you some moves while you were in the elevator.
While the rest walked to separate conference rooms, Ro pulled you to the side and into another hallway holding only two other empty conference rooms. Sneaking a quick glance at the empty hallway, your eyes widened when you felt him tug you towards him, his lips instantly connecting with yours.
You had to admit it, you were scared but the warmth of his mouth eased you and any signs of nervousness eased away. You let him hold you as he continued to press beautifully small kisses on your lips, smiling at your eyes closed that anticipated another kiss.
Opening your eyes, you found him smiling and before thinking, he kissed you once again. This time, he was even softer than the previous display of softness, pleasurable hum into your mouth as your tongues met. There was no fierceness because you held his cheeks in between the palms of your hands. You wanted to pull him closer and he was hugging you in the desire to love you.
Leaning apart, he nestled in the crook of your neck, eyes closing to encompass the radiating sunshine from the open windows opposite you. There were mainly rooftops so the lack of people surrounding you was none and you found comfort in that.
"I have to go and you do too" you whispered into his ear, loosening his arms around you and he heard your words. His eyes shone in depths of some murky liquid, nodding in agreement. "I'll see you later though" he said, still holding your hand.
"You go first and then I'll come out after a couple of minutes, yea?" you questioned, looking at him. Your plan brought a smile to his face, suddenly feeling giddy at the thought of sneaking around.
Planting a kiss on your cheek, he moved to leave but not before patting your ass. Flushing at his interestingly- timed gesture, you leaned against the wall and took in a deep breath, hearing the sound of a door close in the background.
"Fuck" you muttered to yourself, recalling the taste of his lips on yours and the thought that it would escalate into something more, right in this building. Waiting for two minutes (because you couldn't wait any longer), you sincerely hoped that your manager wasn't there before you and what a coincidence, she happened to be walking down the hallway at that very moment.
Speed walking, you took a seat at the table with your manager closely following you. Your co-worker mouthed, "All good?" to which you replied, "Yea" and nodding, maybe a little too excited as she looked at you suspiciously but you couldn't tell, instead focusing your attention on your manager speaking.
After a very boring, almost half an hour meeting and brainstorming ideas, you were done for the day. Knocking on the glass so that he wouldn't scare the crap out of you, you turned as he entered the room. He smiled at you and you immediately returned it, asking, "What'd you want to speak to me about?".
"Ah, about that" he said chuckling nervously, "It may be easier to show you". "Uh-huh, you sound very secretive right now, you know that?" laughing as you spoke and he laughed too, realising how he sounded. Hand-in hand, he tugged you along to the empty conference room that you were outside of earlier.
You were confused and that was justified as he locked the door behind you, sat on a chair and pulled you onto his lap. Giggling, you stopped him asking, "What are we doing?". "I've been wanting to do this with you all day" he replied, sliding his hand up your thigh and meeting your panties.
His fingers danced around your core that made you stare at him, the arousal growing as you felt his fingers so close. Pushing your panties aside, he was met with your warm entrance that was already starting to drip with wetness. In a swoop, he penetrated your entrance with a single digit making you gasp and hold onto his shoulders.
Pumping in and out, you moaned but bit your lip in order to try and keep silent so no one else could hear your moans. When you were wet enough, he pulled out and placed you directly over his jeans, holding onto your waist to guide your hips against the tough material.
"I don't know why you like this but if it's gets you so fucked out-" he spoke as his cock grew hard in his jeans at the sight of your eyebrows furrowed in pleasure, trying to comprehend how the coarseness of his jeans send up waves of arousal to your core.
Unzipping his jeans, he pulled out his cock and pumped himself a few times, precum already leaking from the tip as thought of fucking you senseless invaded his mind. Lifting you off his jeans, he saw the wet stain you had left and looking at it too, you were embarrassed, pink rising to your cheeks.
"Come here baby" he said, positioning his cock at your entrance. Your wetness had made it possible for his cock to slip into your pussy, the head pushing finding its way to your cervix. You cried out before you could stop yourself, debating whether to let it go or keep quiet. Not sure of how many employees were in the building, he didn't give you a lot of time to think about anything else as he let out a heavy breath, snapping his hips upwards.
Whining for his touch, you spread your legs further till you were completely riding him, your hips automatically moving in circles. He slipped a finger under panties, harshly rubbing your clit in circles. Holding onto his shoulder to keep yourself steady, he tightened his grip on your waist as leverage to pound into you.
The two of you were breathing heavily and moans escaped your mouth at the pleasure you received from his cock and him from the feeling of filling you up. Removing your shirt about halfway, he kneaded your clothed breast as you rode his cock like the good girl you were.
Dragging a strap down from your shoulder enough for a nipple to pop out, he latched on, swirling his tongue and swelling the nub. The heated sensations that you felt around your breast as the other one was forced out of his confines by his needy hands, you continued feeling his cock enter your hole again and again.
Hand on your back, he thrusted into you as he neared his high while you were close, the heat pooling in the pit of your stomach. Hand on your back, the other bought your neck to his mouth, pressing kisses to the skin, his breath fanning your skin. His hips stilled as he came, a flow of relief flooding through his system as he waited for a couple more seconds to finish inside of you.
Just the feeling of warmth inside you and his cum painting your walls was enough for you to cum around his cock. Breathing heavily, you sank into his arms, his cock in your pussy keeping his cum in you. Standing up, he placed you on the table and slipped out of you, the cum layering your inner thighs as it began to slip out of your cunt.
Straightening your clothes, he grasped your hands in his, pulling you off the table. A little wobbly, he held you up as you walked to the door. "Fuck me like that, once again" you said once you two were in the elevator. Right before you got out, you heard him say, "Count on that and my cum stuffed inside of you? All you have to do is keep it that way till we get home"

And me and @freckledpianoman are back with more Beth Chapel content! Continuing from this post, here’s even more headcanons about our favourite Dr Mid-Nite:
Beth is nearsighted and started wearing glasses when she was three and a half. Bridget started noticing that her daughter kept squinting all the time and eventually took her to an eye doctor, attributing Beth needing glasses so early to all the times that she hid under the covers with a flashlight and read late into the night instead of sleeping
Her prescription is really strong and while her glasses correct most of her vision, she still needs accommodations like enlarged and high contrast texts and other visual aids
Chuck eventually becomes another accommodation since he acts as a cross between telescopic and magnifying glasses and a talking watch
She’s fluent in French thanks to her grandma Beatrices influence and she can carry a conversation in Spanish (she picked it up from Bridget, who often talks with her patients in Spanish) and Norwegian. That last language throws people off when they first hear about it, but it comes in handy when four-year-old Pieter Cross and his family (who don’t speak much English) move to Blue Valley from Trondheim, Norway
Yolanda grumbles about not being able to talk to Beth in Spanish class whenever she’s home sick from school because she's the one decent conversation partner she has in that class
Rick often practices translating for his French class with Beth. Once he goofed and said “madame le docteur”. And poor Beth was close to shaking him and going, “Rick, that's wrong on so many levels”
He knows by the incredulous look on her face that he’s all sorts of wrong and he blushes all embarrassed. But later he mistranslates on purpose just to see her adorable reactions
She wants to pick up more languages eventually (she’s deciding if she wants to take both Mandarin and Arabic in college like her dad did) and is currently learning ASL
Beth is a Star Trek fan thanks to her dad’s influence. She and James would watch reruns of Deep Space Nine while she was growing up and it was their way of bonding. While that tradition didn’t happen as often when Beth started high school, she and Yolanda (who had watched Voyager with her brother and cousins) eventually start a tradition of watching Star Trek Discovery
Beth and Yolanda’s love for Star Trek is often a point of contention with Rick and Courtney, who are both Star Wars fans. It’s been the subject of a lot of arguments about what to watch for JSA marathons. Pat is usually the tie breaker
Beth learned how to garden from her grandma Beatrice, who raises African violets in her rooftop garden. Beth’s backyard isn’t big enough for a garden so instead she keeps all sorts of plants in her room, including little teacup succulents on her bedroom windowsill and in honeycomb shelves
While her backyard’s too small for a garden, there’s a pink dogwood tree and she loves reading and having picnics under it when it’s in bloom. In the summer Beth makes her own butterfly feeders and hang them from the tree and watch the butterflies gather
She grew up listening to Schoolhouse Rock thanks to her dad, who would play their songs in the kitchen whenever he made breakfast on Saturday mornings while she was growing up. Even now, Beth sings along to them whenever she hears them and Chuck starting adding them to karaoke mode, including her favourites “Three is a Magic Number”, “The Tale of Mr Morton”, and “The Energy Blues”
When she was in middle school, she started using the melody of Schoolhouse Rock songs to memorize things like country names and the periodic table. She used the latter to help Rick memorize different elements for his chem class. Yolanda actually caught Rick softly singing to himself at his locker when he was searching for his notes for one last read through
“Beth got you to sing? Willingly?” “I wasn't singing, you’re hearing things.”
Courtney is weirded out by the fact that Beths texts with Mike of all people, but it's mostly through gifs, emojis, and random memes. She has no idea what they even talk about, saying that Beth texts with Mike more often than she does with Rick, much to the latter’s annoyance. In reality Beth and Mike talk about robotics competitions, the latest episode of whatever they were binging (this week was Julie and the Phantoms), and their ongoing bet on when Courtney and Yolanda will finally get together
If Beth wins, Mike has to help upgrade her costume and if he wins, she owes him an ice cream cake
“It's like their own little nerd language, it makes no sense.”
Her style icon when she was little was Ms Frizzle. Beth thought that Ms Frizzle’s themed dresses and jewellery were so cool and she wanted to dress up like her. She still loves Ms Frizzle’s style and you can see the influence it has on Beth’s fashion from bright colours, unique patterns, and quirky jewellery
Beth has a special section in her closet for Ms Frizzle like outfits that she wears to the children’s library she volunteers at. It makes her very popular with the kids there
She actually dressed up as Ms Frizzle for Halloween in seventh grade
Despite being on opposite sides, Beth and Cindy have a begrudging respect for each other similar to Betty and Wilhelmina’s relationship on Ugly Betty, Beth being the JSA member that Cindy tolerates the most
Cindy begrudgingly thinks that she does know a thing or two about fashion because she often upcycles clothes. Courtney’s surprised that Beth’s still alive after she said that Cindy dresses like an evil PTA mom within earshot, though she did kidnap Beth a few times for a shopping spree
“Get in loser, we’re going shopping!” “Did you just quote Mean Girls?”
The first time they had a standoff, Cindy went “please, I’m Japanese, you’re Black, we’re not talking around this thing like a couple of dull white people”
Cindy once called Rick a feral raccoon and smirked when it made Beth accidentally burst out laughing
While Beth is more than confident with her personal style, but she’s still very new to makeup in general. Yolanda and Artemis (even Cindy much to everyone’s shock) have taken it upon themselves to help experiment with makeup and find out what she likes. Beth immediately knows that she doesn’t like mascara, even as Yolanda scolds her to stay still while she’s trying to put mascara on her
“You’re making it seem like I’m torturing you.” “Your superhero costume has claws, that doesn’t exactly scream safe.” “I’ll have you know I’m very practiced with my claws, now stay still!”
Beth likes the lipsticks and glosses much better, she likes the different colours and how it feels on her lips
She has to get used to the feeling of makeup on her face in general, but she doesn’t mind it and she’s shocked when she looks in the mirror. It’s still very much her, but it's like she’s glowing. She can’t stop smiling and the girls all look at her fondly
And they also exchange knowing looks, knowing that Rick is going to lose his mind
She did a history report on Bessie Coleman in middle school and she eventually drew inspiration for her Dr Mid-Nite costume from looking at photos of Bessie’s pilot outfit
Beth and her mom often did ceramics classes when she was a kid. They weren’t very good at it at first, but the little lopsided knick knacks they made always made them laugh. Beth and Bridget got better over the years with Beth painting colours and patterns on whatever her mom helped her make before they went into the kiln. She thought they would be plain otherwise and Bridget agreed with her
While ceramics classes have since stopped, they still use the honeycomb mugs and planters that they made and painted when Beth was in middle school. Bridget uses one for the aloe vera plant she keeps in her office at the hospital
Beth is allergic to pineapple. She found out during a school trip in third grade when Henry offered some of his fruit salad and she ended up with a swollen face and tongue, which really freaked Artemis and Cindy out. Yolanda and the villain kids ended up taking care of her until the ambulance came and Beth jokes that it was the one time the JSA and ISA kids worked together on something
She now carries an epipen in her backpack and Rick has taken to carrying a backup one in his jacket in case Beth can’t get to her backpack in time
She had a stargazing phase that she never grew out of. Her parents got her a mini telescope for her fifth birthday and Bridget started teaching her about the solar system before Beth started learning about constellations on her own. Bridget jokes that if her daughter hadn’t been set on becoming a doctor, she would’ve gone into astrophysics
Beth still has a telescope set up by her bedroom window. Sometimes when she has trouble sleeping and she’s not in the mood to read, she’ll look for constellations through the telescope while Chuck chimes in with little known star facts
She also has a starry globe nightlight and a constellation globe
She and Rick sometimes have stargazing “dates” out on her back porch. They curl up together in a patio chair with midnight snacks while they watch meteor showers. Sometimes Yolanda and Courtney will join them, curled up together in the other patio chair
Beth and Courtney often have karaoke nights at the Pit Stop after Pat souped up Barbara’s old karaoke machine. The usual playlist includes fun 80s and 90s jams as well as modern songs like Bruno Mars, Lizzo, and Janelle Monae. Yolanda often joins them for girl group songs (Little Mix is a favourite), even though she protests that she’s not much of a singer when she’s not singing Selena songs
Rick gets roped into doing a song too, much to his dismay. Courtney pouts and complains that he has to because there’s an unspoken rule that everyone has to sing
“I don't sing, dammit.” “Oh really, are you forgetting about that little ditty you were singing before your chem test?”
Beth sees how nervous Rick is and decides to go easy on him, finding a slow, bluesy song that he can keep up with and assuring him that even if he can’t croon those long deep notes, everyone will cheer him on. He ends up giving the best performance of the night, shocking the girls and impressing them all
He blushes when he sees Beth looking at him all starry eyed
When Beth was growing up, her family would have game night every Thursday and they were always old fashioned board games like Clue, Scrabble, and Pictionary. Whenever they would play Clue, Beth would always choose to be Miss Scarlett while her dad would switch between Professor Plum and Colonel Mustard. Beth could never beat her mom at Scrabble and it often ended up with Beth’s chemistry words versus Bridget’s medical terms
While game nights have since stopped, James will sometimes have Beth join him for a card game at three or four in the morning after he comes back from a business trip. He taught her how to play games like crazy eights, gin rummy, and cribbage when she was in middle school and it’s now their way of catching up after he comes back from travelling
Both her parents are only children. James’ family was originally from California before he moved to Nebraska for work while Bridget’s family are of Louisiana Creole descent and hail from Omaha. Beth is quite close to Bridget’s side of the family, especially with her second cousin Delphine’s family. Beth sometimes helps look after Delphine’s daughter Eliana whenever she and her husband are in town
Rick once mistook Eliana for Beth’s baby, hilarity ensued
Beth has a love for animals and since the fandom has collectively decided that Beth is a Disney Princess, she has a particular talent for being an accidental animal tamer. During a mission, three of the ISA’s attack dogs made a beeline for her and attacked her with doggie kisses instead of doing their job
The ISA are torn between being pissed (“when the hell did Mid-Nite become an animal tamer?”) and confused. Sportsmaster is vaguely impressed and takes it as a challenge
Later they tried scaring Beth with a python, which only really worked on Yolanda (“oh my god, what is that?”) while Beth just boops the snake on its snout. The snake swooned. So did Rick
After Rick and Yolanda recover from the shock, they look at the trio of attack dogs follow Beth all the way to the Pit Stop and go “we’re not keeping you”. Rick just hopes that the trio are the only attack dogs that follow her back home. He wishes that he had been more specific because he was not expecting an actual maned wolf suddenly coming up and sniffing all over Beth during a visit to the Dugan-Whitmores’ cabin
“What the fuck, where did that come from and why is it all over Beth?!”
It turns out that Beth didn’t realize that she had a cookie in one of her pockets and the maned wolf caught a whiff of it and was now trying to find it. The way it sniffs her is ticklish and she’s laughing the entire time
Once the maned wolf brought over a friend to see Beth and Courtney goes, “aww, he met another–oh my god, that’s a panther!” The panther also wanted one of Beth’s treats and it swooped in between her and Rick and started pawing at her like a spoiled kitten
Rick picked Beth up and carried her inside because “we can’t trust her outside anymore”

This was requested! gonna keep trying to turn out requests & work on dark cherries also my birthday is on thursday and i’m turning 24 (wow im getting old help) & also the bastards comes out the day after so yay! lets chat about it when its out ok?
Request: Where Remington cheats on the reader and she finds out, but he does everything he can to get her back?
Thorns - A Remington Leith one-shot. || 1.9K words || under cut.
The catalyst for a ruined night came in a round of shots. Emerson poured the amber liquid into hot pink shot glasses that the boys had picked up days prior. Remington wasted no time in downing his, barely flinching at the bitter taste that now coated his tongue.
“Slow down there, cowboy”
Sebastian laughed before throwing his own shot back, placing a hand on Remington’s cheetah print covered shoulder.
“We can’t have our lead singer fucked up out of his mind, can we?”
The eldest brother chided playfully as he took the bottle from Emerson and poured more shots.
As the brothers drank and talked anxiously about their first show of a new tour, Remington’s phone buzzed in his back pocket, taking it out he suppressed an eye-roll at the message filling his screen;
My Love <3: HEY BABY JUST WANT TO WISH U LUCK TONIGHT YOU’LL KILL IT. LOVE U.
He wasn’t sure what had gotten into him lately, usually, he’d be thrilled at the love and adoration his girlfriend of three years was showing him. She was always cheering him on, listening to his music, and supporting his band in every way she could. Although she was unable to come to most shows due to a fast-paced work schedule she always made a point to let the band of brothers know they had her support. That should’ve been enough to keep Remington happy but recently he had become cold towards his girlfriend and as he put his phone away without responding all thoughts of her disappeared as well.
Remington headed backstage after the show still high from the performance. The adrenaline from the encouraging crowd and kick-ass concert his band delivered had Remington feeling happier than he had in months. Once in the dressing room, the boys quickly changed out of their sweaty stage attire into more relaxed outfits, and like clockwork, shots were once again being handed out.
Once everyone had a decent buzz going the boys and their crew headed out to a nearby nightclub to celebrate the success of the show. Remington realized halfway to the club that he had forgotten his phone in the dressing room, a fact that didn’t phase him, in fact he was happy to be rid of the constant ringing.
Once inside the packed club, Remington waved goodbye to his brothers and made his way to the bar. His buzz had diminished slightly in the car ride and that was a no go for Remington so he ordered a drink, which quickly became two, then three before he headed to the dance floor.
Packed in a sea of bodies the singer danced to the music, enjoying the happiness that came from the night’s events as well as the alcohol in his system. When a manicured hand grabbed him and pulled him close, he didn’t object, instead, he wrapped his arms around the dark-haired beauty.
The pair danced together to the techno music blaring overhead, strobe lights illuminating their faces, hands roaming freely over each other’s bodies before the woman leaned in and planted a sloppy kiss to Remington’s lips.
If there was a moment of panic, a spark of recognition somewhere in the sober part of his mind, Remington ignored it. Instead, he deepened the kiss with the gorgeous stranger, when the pair eventually pulled away from the kiss, they headed to the bar for more drinks.
When Sebastian came to let Remington know it was time to head to the hotel, the frontman wasted no time in asking this new girl if she’d like to go with him. Much to the dismay of the older (and wiser) brother, she said yes and everyone piled into the van and were chauffeured back to the hotel to continue the party.
Morning light filtered through the window a sign of a new day, but as Remington opened his eyes the gravity of last night hit him. He was alone in his hotel bed, the white sheets crumpled and covered in streaks of makeup (his or hers, he wasn’t sure). Flashbacks of last night filled his mind and all at once he realized the hickeys on his body were from a stranger, the realization filled him with shame and dread.
He found his phone which had been placed on his nightstand by one of his brothers or their touring manager (who always cleaned up after the boys’ wild nights) and on it were several unread texts and calls which came in at varying points of the evening.
[9:13 pm] My Love <3: It should be time for u boys to be on stage! I’ll be stalking twitter for updates and vids love u
[12:02 am] My Love <3: Watched a ton of vids that are already being posted! Get back to me when u get this my love so proud of u xx
[3:56 am] My Love <3: Guess your phone died or your out celebrating a great night. Call me when you see this or wake up. I love you.
[10:20 am] 5 missed calls
[10:27 am] *attached photo* REMINGTON.... FUCK YOU.
The photo on his phone screen displayed the girl from last night under the covers as a passed out Remington slept beside her. The caption didn’t say anything besides a winking emoji and she tagged him and his band’s account.
Instantly, he was dialing his girlfriend’s number, hands shaking as he paced around the spacious hotel room desperately waiting for an answer.
“Hello?”
Rose answered, soft voice hoarse from hours of crying.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry..”
Remington started to explain, words tumbling out of his mouth faster than he could form them.
“Save it”
Rose snapped before continuing her voice harder and more assured now than it was just moments ago.
“I never thought you’d do this even as the band started to gain an audience, I told myself that I had nothing to worry about. All the pretty girls and boys didn’t matter because what we had was strong but it sucks being proven wrong huh?”
Remington’s sudden surge of tears prevented him from speaking as the pain in his chest grew with each word. The saddest part of it all was that she was right and that ripped him up inside.
“Rose I-”
he whispered, voice barely audible even to himself.
Instead of an answer he was left hearing the sound of the call disconnecting.
The tour passed by in a daze for Remington and while his brothers desperately wanted him to be more present, they understood. He’d get on stage and sing, forgetting about the pain in his heart for that hour or so, as soon as the curtain closed the ache in his chest was back, a cruel reminder to the life-changing mistake he’d made.
Rose had cut off all contact with her now ex-boyfriend instead choosing to go through Emerson to inform him she was moving out of their shared apartment in LA.
Each night in his hotel bed, memories of the past three years filtered through his brain until he exhaustingly cried himself to sleep.
Remington used Emerson’s phone to send a series of texts to Rose to apologize, to accept full responsibility but the only reply he received was instructions to give Emerson his phone back and to leave her alone.
Just as quickly as the tour started it was now coming to a close a few months later. The boys were back in LA for a sold-out show in typical Los Angeles fashion. Remington never stopped trying to get ahold of Rose -- he sent flowers to her new address, letters where he begged for her back, apologizing and pleading for her forgiveness yet he was never awarded a reply. He didn’t blame her at all but that didn’t mean the pain hurt any less, he’d do anything for a second chance.
Shots of vodka were taken, cheers and high fives were given and the boys hit the stage. Remington gazed out into the crowd, a see of silhouettes behind bright stage lights. After a few songs, Remington sat down at the end of the stage, dark boots quietly thumping against the side.
“Y’know fans like to think we’re perfect”
he stated which earned a chorus of “I love you’s” as well as cheers from the crowd.
He smiled before continuing,
“As much as I love to hear it, it’s not true and sometimes we royally fuck up. I fucked up and these past few months have been hell so I wrote this song.”
The crowd applauded as they watched their favorite singer head to the piano, the spotlight shining on him as he sat down.
“This song is called Thorns,”
Remington began to play a hauntingly slow ballad about losing the love of your life and how apart of you is lost as well.
The pain in my heart is defeating me
Cracking me open for all to see
I’m numb to life, deep inside
Needing you to realize, you’re the better part of me
An illusion of love is what I fear
Taking each step is now unclear
A rose garden in my dreams,
You leaving now in front of me
Take my heart it’s filled with thorns
A rose trapped inside a perfect storm
Throw me to the wolves I’m on my knees
Begging for my rose to please believe
I made a mistake that I can see
Yet this pain without you is deafening
My heart of thorns cuts me deep
Paralyzing me and making me weak
Please my rose I beg you, have sympathy.
The rose garden in my dreams,
But you’re leaving right now in front of me
Take my heart it’s filled with thorns
A rose trapped inside a perfect storm
Throw me to the wolves I’m on my knees
Begging my rose to please believe
I love you Rose it’s all I know, I’m sorry for all my sorrow
By the time the song ended, Remington had tears blurring his vision. He was so wrapped up in playing the song he didn’t realize he had started to cry but to the audience that just made it so much more beautiful.
After the show, Remington hurried off the stage in order to collect his emotions but in the dressing room sat Rose. Her blonde hair was curled and she wore a red dress and in a true movie moment a dozen roses sat in her lap.
“Rem that song…”
she started but before she could finish, Remington ran over and threw his arms around her, hugging her to make sure she wasn’t just a figment of his imagination.
“I’m so sorry”
he whispered once she hugged back.
“The flowers were from Seb”
Rose mumbled, green eyes flicking down to them after their hug. Sebastian must have ordered them because he knew what Remington was planning. That was his older brother alright, always playing the papa bear role.
The singer’s mind was racing a mile a minute, he had a million questions but all he could do was apologize.
Rose shushed him with a chaste kiss before speaking,
“By no means have I forgiven you completely. That song however beautiful doesn’t make everything go away but I’m willing to work on us”
Remington nodded, happy she was here and willing to give their relationship another shot.
“I’m willing to do whatever it takes,”
he whispered, wrapping her in another hug.
They knew it would be a long road to get back to where they were before but Remington was happy he had his Rose back in his life.
xx
A/N: omg that song was not that good I came up with it on my own though and I’m not a lyricist lol hope u enjoyed xx

𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚕 𝚞𝚜 ➛ 𝚓𝚎𝚘𝚗 𝚓𝚞𝚗𝚐𝚔𝚘𝚘𝚔
When you and Jungkook were in your “honeymoon” phase, no matter how busy his schedule, the two of you would go on the most adventurous dates every weekend. Every weekend. Once, Jungkook took you to ride horses on the beach. The next weekend you spent hours in an arcade, hurling insults at each other due to both of your competitive spirits. The next weekend you two went to the zoo.
But once the two of you got married and had your real honeymoon, the two of you realized how meaningful, if not more, spending time together would be if you just sat in the comfort of your home. Ordering in and building pillow forts in the living room would be the best way to end the month. As the years went on, Jungkook’s schedule got far more busy. But you've always been used to the weeks, sometimes months, you two would spend apart.
You didn’t realize the strain it put on your marriage, though, until you two sat in silence at the dinner table. Before the two of you got married, before his schedule got so hectic, the dinner table would be the place where stories were recited, events from that day were told, and jokes were made. It was the one time you two had to really be together.
Since it was mainly you at home alone, you refrained from buying too much food since it would just be your sole responsibility to eat it all before it went bad. But when the BigHit building had mold in the walls and had to close for the day, you found yourself scrambling to pull enough food together to feed both you and a hungry Jungkook.
So, instead, you ordered pizza.
Looking up from your barely-eaten slice, you saw Jungkook pushing around his crust, a bored expression on his face.
You couldn’t help but let out the slightest sigh, your shoulders drooping as the somber sound escaped your body. Regardless of how slight the sound, Jungkook’s head snapped up. Not just because it was the first sound to breach the suffocating silence, but that simple sound weighed heavily on his heart. It was as if all the thoughts troubling your mind came to light.
And that’s when Jungkook saw a practical stranger sitting across the table from him.
Yes, you were the same bride he had wed three years ago, but there were no strings tying the two of you together. There were no vows holding you two together.
You had dyed your hair brown, something Jungkook had just noticed now, even though it had been that way for a little over a month. You had gotten another piercing in your ear, the shiny silver dangling. You had your nails painted, a rare sight. But with all the spare time--alone time--you had, you were desperate to find anything to fill the time in the day.
He didn't like this. He didn’t like sitting directly across from you yet feeling like he was on a raft, drifting away from you as rough waters pushed the two of you apart.
Reaching across the table, his fingertips brushed against yours, causing your once-hung head to look up, the simple skinship sending shockwaves through your body.
“Let’s go on a date,” the dark-haired male simply said, his eyes smiling as he gazed at you. Your eyes widened as your eyebrows raised, not expecting that suggestion to leave his lips. “A date?” you questioned, resting your head on your hand, a small smile growing on your pink-tinted lips. Jungkook felt warm inside. He thought you were adorably irresistible when you did that. He nodded, his dark locks, which have grown long, bouncing around his forehead.
When you opened your mouth to question when he would have time for a date, it was as if he read your mind. Jungkook knew you like his favorite song. Knowing someone for over a decade has that effect. “I have an off day tomorrow. Apparently, the mold has spread like a virus.” Scrunching your nose up in disgust, you pushed your plate away, no longer having an appetite. Throwing his head back to let out his unique, high-pitched laugh, a pure, genuine smile planted itself on your face as Jungkook’s large hands clapped together.
What you did wasn’t even that funny, but what you did reminded him of the person he married. And no matter how simple your humor was, it always had Jungkook gasping for air as tears caused by intense laughter slid down his cheeks.
“So, yes, a date. Just the two of us,” he said once he gathered himself, the tips of his fingers never once leaving yours. “Well, isn’t that what a date entails? Two people?” you smartly asked, the sarcastic side to your personality that everyone knew you by coming out after being hidden for so long. “Well, it’s about to be a one person date if you keep this up,” he warned, making no sense, yet it had you hunched over the table, genuine laughter leaving your ajar lips. Lifting your hands into the air, you wanted to appear innocent. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
A little light in Jungkook went out as soon as you moved your hand away from his, but as soon as it was back on the table, Jungkook took the skinship a step forward and held your hand, interlacing your fingers. You stared down at your hand connected with his, almost having forgotten how calloused yet baby-butt soft his hands could be.
“What is it that we’re doing on this date?” you asked when the silence got too much. “I was thinking we go out to a fancy restaurant and get some good food,” he said, never once breaking eye contact with you. You contemplated it for a moment. “You can wear that favorite dress I love on you,” he suggestively said, the seriousness in the statement getting ruined by him wiggling his eyebrows like a weird predator. Reaching your other hand over the table, you flicked the top of his hand, causing him to giggle.
Just before you had the chance to pull your hand back, he grabbed it, interlacing his fingers so that he was holding both of your hands with his. “Got you,” he said in a low, light voice. The two of you shared a silence that was filled with love. A silence that was filled with good energy.
“I’ve missed you, you know,” you mumbled, staring at him with gentle eyes filled with love. He was the first, is still the first, and will always be the only person you looked at like that.
“Oh, I know you have,” he cockily said, the voice ever-so-soft. “Must you always be so cocky, Mr. Jeon?” you asked, tilting your head to the side. He smiled, cute bunny teeth peeking out from behind his lips. “Only because I know you love it, Mrs. Jeon.”
Jungkook had happily volunteered to go grocery shopping, scanning the list with excited eyes. But when he saw that all you had was healthy stuff, when your back was turned, he added a few items of his own.
He left you to get dressed for your evening out, causing feelings of stress to cloud your mind. You usually always knew what you wanted to wear whenever you and Jungkook would go out, but for some reason, you felt the need to impress him. You knew that he loved you and your body, but it had been a while. What if those feelings changed?
Taking out his favorite dress, white and loose, you tried it on, gazing at yourself in the mirror. It still fit the same, but you could tell that you had gained a few pounds here and there.
He did say that he wanted to see you in his favorite dress, so you shrugged it off and went to put on your makeup before doing your hair. As you searched the closet for heels, you picked your favorite black stilettos, putting them on the floor for your to step into.
In the doorway stood a silent Jungkook, admiring the love of his life. Wearing the fanciest dress or the baggiest sweatpants, you were radiating to him; absolutely ethereal.
As your head tilted up to look in the mirror, you smirked when you saw your husband standing there. “You look amazing,” he complimented as he entered the room. You stood up straight, gazing at him with eyes filled with love. “Thank you,” you mumbled, blushing like a schoolgirl. You and Jungkook had been together for what felt like forever, but no matter the days, months, and years, every compliment had you melting.
“Give me a few minutes,” he said before entering the bathroom, his suit already laid out nicely. Smiling to mostly yourself, you sat at the bottom of the bed, waiting for your prince charming to reappear.
Maybe some thirty minutes or so later, you and Jungkook sat at a circular table, white velvet tablecloth hanging to the floor. From afar, you and Jungkook were the best looking couple by far in the restaurant. In a sharp black suit, sharp angles broadening his shoulders, Jungkook was a dashing sight to look at.
But you felt uncomfortable. With each joke that left his lips, you found yourself getting shushed by others as loud, explosive laughter was improper in such a public setting. As you and Jungkook stared in silence at the pasta barely touched on your plates, an idea swam into Jungkook’s mind.
As his body suddenly jerked, you looked up to witness Jungkook, large and pale hands, grabbing all of the bread in the wooden basket. “Jungkook, what are you doing?” you asked, amused with your husband’s peculiar behavior. Taking a large bite out of one piece, he flashed wild, excited eyes at you before grabbing your arm. Throwing a lot more money than necessary onto the table, he pulled you out of the restaurant in a swift yet slow-enough-for-you-to-keep-up job, the occupants in the establishment watching with judgmental eyes.
“Jeon Jungkook, I am wearing heels!” you exclaimed, trying your best not to trip and break your ass on the pavement. “Take them off then,” he simply suggested, stopping in his tracks to look at you. Your head tilted to the side as you gasped. “It just rained. The concrete is still wet.”
Smiling at your sensitivity to anything dirty, Jungkook turned his back to you, bending his knees at a 90 degree angle. It took your mind a little while to realize what he was doing.
“Are you gonna get on or not?” Jungkook whined, turning his adorable head to look at you. You jumped onto his back in an instant, his arms wrapping around your legs to hold you securely. With two hands tightly grasping over-floured bread, he began to sprint down the block, dodging party-goers.
You couldn’t help but smile. “Don’t drop me!” you warned, the breeze whipping your hair around your face. “Where are we even going?”
“So many questions, y/n. We’ll be there soon.”
Jungkook ran into the entrance of your favorite park, further confusing you.
He jogged over to a bench by the river, gently seating you. You stared at your husband as he kneeled in front of you, gently sliding the heels off of your aching feet. Sitting next to you, he handed you a somewhat-squished piece of bread.
“What’s this for?” you asked, looking down a the bread in your hand.
“For them.”
And with that, he ripped off a piece and threw it onto the grass. After a few seconds, a few geese came waddling out the bushes, ready to fight each other for that bread. You thought geese were adorable. So, of course wanted to feed them, you ripped off a few more pieces and threw it, smiling as each goose had their own piece of bread.
As you watched them eat, you leaned over to rest your head on his muscular shoulders. “Will you tell me why we just abandoned our expensive dinner?” you asked, reaching over to hold his hand. His fingers interlaced with yours, holding on tightly. “That’s not us. Expensive dinners. Formal outfits. We don’t do that,” he explained, resting his cheek against your forehead.
“This is what we did on our first date, y/n. Right after we ran away from some fancy ass restaurant where I was getting stared down by your father.” You chuckled at the memory, now able to laugh at your parents crashing your first date to interrogate Jungkook.
“Do you remember what we did after we fed the geese?” he questioned, his thumb rubbing soft and consistent circles in the back of your hand. “We went and got fast food and ate way too many fries,” you said, causing Jungkook to laugh. “You said that I couldn’t finish two large fries in one sitting, and I just had to prove you wrong.” You shook your head as you smiled, glad to be taking this stroll down memory lane with your husband.
Leaning back so that he could look at you, his large hand, still smelling like bread, reached up to cup your cheek. “You know, that was when I fell in love with you. Mouth filled to the brim with greasy french fries,” he lightly joked, watching you with his gentle doe eyes. “You always know how to kill a romantic moment,” you teased, causing him to chuckle.
“Those fries were pretty damn good, weren’t they?” you said, mouth watering just at the thought. “You know what else tastes pretty good?” Jungkook asked in a low, gravely voice, his face inching closer to yours. “That cake-flavored lip balm you’re always using,” he replied, his top lip brushing up against yours.
As his lips connected with yours, his large hand cradled the back of your head, pulling you in closer to him. The taste of your lip balm made its way onto his taste buds, causing Jungkook to yearn for more. His tongue explored your mouth as he pressed your chest against his. The two of you engaged in a make out session for a few minutes until you pulled away.
The look of pure disappointment on his face made you feel bad.
“But, babe, I want fries,” you whined. He laughed. “My baby wants fries?” he questioned, a sweet smile on his lips. You nodded. In one swift movement, he kneeled in front of you, back to your legs. “Your chariot awaits, Mrs. Jeon.” Climbing back onto his back, he grabbed your heels before standing up straight, adjusting your body on his.
“Let’s go get some fries then.”
And with that, Jungkook was running back through the streets with you comfortably on his back, on his way to feed the love of his love some greasy, unhealthy fries. Because that. That was you and Jungkook. Dates full of mischief and severely unhealthy food.

Drunk.
Loki x Fem!Reader
Contains: Fluff, minor cat-calling.
Synopsis: The best part of being drunk? Being taken care of by the Norse god you’re lucky enough to call your boyfriend.
__________________________________________
It wasn’t often that you drank alcohol, but when you did, you didn’t waste any time getting completely hammered. Feeling the beat of the music in your chest at a nightclub and watching your friends have a good time just got you so pumped up. And soon enough, you were the one having the good time.
However, even in the midst of stupidly downing another shot and trying to dance in your unstable state, you couldn’t help but miss your boyfriend back at home. Loki didn’t like when you went out partying - and he made it very obvious. He’d childishly hide your makeup brushes and ‘accidentally’ misplace your shoes. It was the same thing every time - you’d get extremely irritated at him, and all he’d respond with was that frustratingly hot smirk. At this point, it’d kind of became your thing to be late to parties because of Loki’s antics.
The night always tended to end the same as well. A drunken text or call would inevitably find its way to Loki, and he’d be there in a flash to pick you up. Having you back home was the only thought on his mind the whole time you were out, and such a large relief for him as soon as you stepped through the front door.
And so, the point in the night came where your jittery fingers tapped aimlessly on the blurred keyboard of your phone, hoping that you could form something coherent to indicate to Loki that you wanted brought home. You swore you felt your phone vibrate after shoving it back into your bra, but you could barely lift your arms after being hit with a wave of exhaustion. Dizzily, you stumbled over to a bar stool and forced yourself upon it. Without a second thought, you rest your head in your arms against the cold surface of the bar, barely resisting the urge to shut your eyes.
You didn’t know how long you’d been out, but someone was shaking your shoulder gently and saying your name, and you reluctantly lifted your head up. Blinking repeatedly, your eyes adjusted as best as they could to the person standing over you, and an involuntary smile formed on your lips - it was Loki. Honestly, it was probably the best part of the night, when your boyfriend would show up and wrap his arms around you, taking you back to where you longed to be after a night of partying.
“Come on, gorgeous. Let’s get you home.” His soothing voice caused butterflies to erupt in your stomach, as you nodded lazily and attempted to push yourself off the bar stool.
Loki’s arm enveloped your waist, holding most of your weight as you made no effort to keep yourself upright. However, you were quick to wrap your arms around Loki’s neck and sloppily kiss his cheek.
“So happy to s-see you, Loki.” You slurred.
He let out a laugh, guiding you through the doors of the club. “Really? I can’t tell by the way you are practically strangling me.”
“Strangling you with loooove.” Your hand reached up to cup his face, turning him to look at you. For a moment, you literally got lost in his beautiful blue eyes, almost forgetting that you were going in to kiss him. Almost. Once you’d processed how insanely perfect your boyfriend was, it just made you want to kiss him harder; which you did.
Loki was about to question why you were staring at him for so long, until he felt your lips press against his. A familiar warm feeling coursed through his typically cold body as he held you close to him. He could taste the alcohol on your tongue, and was suddenly reminded of where you were - making out outside of a club at one in the morning.
The sound of whistling caused Loki to pull away from you, making you pout in disappointment. Your boyfriend’s eyes were directed towards a group men standing a couple of metres away, leaning drunkly against the wall of the club. He followed their lustful gazes, which were set on you. Your dress had ridden up your thighs, barely even covering the parts of you that definitely shouldn’t be on show.
While you rested your head in the crook of his neck obliviously, Loki shot the group of guys a menacing glare. He tended to come off as intimidating to, well, everyone. Everyone except you, obviously. The men noticed the threatening stare from your protective boyfriend, and the smirks that were playing in their lips instantly disappeared. They turned away from the direction of you both, and you tapped Loki’s chest impatiently, asking him to take you to the car.
Before he obliged, Loki reached to pull down your dress to an appropriate length, and then proceeded to lead you over to the car. He debated whether to sit you in the front or let you lie down in the backseat. However, the choice wasn’t really his as you yanked open the door to the backseat, climbing inside ungracefully. As soon as your head hit the fabric of the seat, you were ready to drift back to sleep again. That was until you caught Loki about to close the door, after moving your legs so that they weren’t hanging outside the car.
“Wait! Loki, don’t go.” You furrowed your brows sadly as Loki tried to suppress a chuckle.
Reassuringly, he placed his hand on your calf, leaning inside the car. “I will just be in the front seat, love. I have to drive.”
“But it’s cold as frick back here.” Loki rolled his eyes at you dramatically sticking your bottom lip out, but didn’t hesitate to take off his leather jacket and rest it over your body. You grinned, pulling the large jacket up to your chin and sighing contently at Loki’s scent being prominent on the material.
You didn’t even realise where you were when the car pulled up outside your apartment building. The sound of the car door opening again didn’t phase you, and you felt a hand softly pushing strands of your hair out of your face.
“We’re almost home, (Y/N), then you are free to sleep for as long as you would like.”
“Imma sleep in here. Don’t wanna move.” Your voice was muffled under the leather jacket and you hadn’t even reopened your eyes.
“Darling, you just have to make it to the elevator. I will even carry you if it makes the process quicker.” It was hard to say no to being carried back to your apartment by your boyfriend, and that’s why you instantly made your best efforts to sit up, still clutching on tightly to his jacket.
Loki went to put his hands under your knees when you pushed them away, making him raise his brows at you questioningly. “Piggyback?Pleeeaaase?”
Of course, Loki couldn’t deny you of a piggyback when you were staring up innocently at him, your arms reaching out in front of you like a child. “If it means you will leave the car, then fine.”
Grabbing his outstretched hand, you pushed yourself to stand on the pavement and slammed the car door shut behind you. As you looked at Loki expectantly, he reluctantly turned away from you, crouching down slightly. Without warning, you launched yourself onto his back, causing him to grunt and fall forward before he managed to steady himself. He hoisted you higher on his back, gripping your thighs securely.
You rested your head on his shoulder, occasionally turning to the side to peck his cheek as he carried you to the elevator. Once you were inside and Loki pressed your floor button, he turned to look up at you. “You’re lucky that I am utterly smitten with you, (Y/N). This may be a comfortable experience for you, but I can not necessarily say the same for myself.”
“I’ll give you a piggyback tomorrow, Loki. Then we’re even stevens.” You twirled one of his black locks with your finger absentmindedly while he laughed.
“I’m not sure that you would be physically capable of that, love. I appreciate the offer, though.”
“Maybe not, but I’m physically capable of doing some other things, if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.” You erupted with giggles, and Loki sighed, blushing slightly.
The elevator doors opened with a ding and both of you exited the small space. “I hope by that you mean climbing off my back and going to bed.”
Loki struggled to unlock your apartment door as you stayed clinging to his body, only holding you up with one hand. “Naaaah, I mean suck-”
“Don’t... finish that sentence. I know what you meant.”
Giggling uncontrollably again, you just wrapped your arms tighter around your boyfriend as he managed to open the door, taking you both inside and locking it again. He carried you through to your bedroom and stood facing away from the bed, waiting for you to detach yourself from him and fall back, but you don’t.
“Remember what we said about climbing off my back and going to bed? Could you... do that, darling?” Loki tapped your thigh, but you shook your head against his neck.
Pointing towards the bathroom, you groaned. “Need to do my skincare routine.”
“You are not being serious, are you?”
“Uh, I’m being deadass serious. Bathroom, please.”
“About three minutes ago you were literally asleep.”
“Well now I’m not!” You exclaimed. “Gonna get an acne attack if I go to sleep like this.”
With a deep sigh, Loki gave in. He knew it was useless trying to convince you otherwise, and he also knew how conscious you were of your skin. Skipping out on your skin routine was never an option for you, even when you were drunk.
A few minutes later, you were sat on the counter in the bathroom, watching Loki as he pulled everything out of your skincare bag and laid them next to you. He insisted on helping you out with your routine, because in your state, it’d take you until sunrise to finish it. “Okay, what’s first?”
“Wipes.” You picked up the pink packet next to you and handed it to Loki, who pulled out a wipe and put the packet back down. His hand rested on the side of your neck, pressing his thumb against your jaw and wiping off your makeup.
While he focused on the task, you couldn’t help but admire him. His bottom lip was bitten between his teeth in concentration, and his dark brows were knitted together slightly. Strands of his hair were stuck up out of place from you playing with it, and the jet black colour of his locks contrasted with his pale skin. Everything about him was beautiful in your eyes.
“You’re so pretty, do you know that?” You broke the comfortable silence with your sudden urge to compliment your boyfriend, who attempted to suppress a smirk.
“I’m not entirely sure pretty is an adjective I’d associate with myself.” Loki motioned for you to close your eyes so he could remove your eye makeup.
Shutting your eyes, you kept speaking. “You’re a pretty boy, Loki. My pretty boy.”
With your eyes closed, you couldn’t see Loki’s cheeks reddening and the involuntary smile on his face. “Always yours, my love.”
Once the pressure on your eyes had disappeared, you opened them again. You reached forward to wrap your arms around Loki, but he put his hands against your shoulders.
“No hugs until we are finished here. You demanded that this be done, and we are doing it as quick as possible, alright?”
Leaning back against the mirror, you sighed, leading Loki through the rest of your skin regime until it was finally done. As soon as all of your products were packed back into their bag, you threw your arms around Loki and squeezed him tightly. How many other gods would do their drunk, mortal girlfriend’s skincare routine for them at nearly two in the morning? Probably not a lot. You hoped Loki knew how much you appreciated him, if he couldn’t tell by the fact you were clinging to him like a koala.
After the both of you stripped off and were too lazy to put on proper pyjamas, you got into bed with just your underwear on and clung back onto your boyfriend. Nuzzling your head into Loki’s bare chest, you exhaled a breath of content.
“You know, for being the God of Mischief, you sure are a sweetheart.” You muttered, earning a quiet chuckle from Loki.
“Only for you, darling.”
“Oh, I see...” You smirked. “God of Mischief on the streets, God of Softness in the sheets.”
“Because you are intoxicated, I am going to act like those words did not just come out of your mouth.”
“Hmm... you do you, softie.”

Not that anyone asked, but I’ve been seeing makeup discourse going around lately and I kind of wanted to share my experience and relationship with makeup and how it has colored my relationship with my gender identity and presentation.
When I was a kid, I did a lot of theater, so I was introduced to makeup early, but it was expected from everyone. That said, it was very clear that most of the boys were expected to do the bare minimum of stage makeup, and the girls were expected to do a “beauty” look, given that most of the shows being done were quite old and gender-specific. Honestly, I never quite liked it, but I was solidly in my tomboy “all girly things are inherently bad” phase, proudly hating pink and gladly avoiding the romantic leads because I just wasn’t like other girls (oh, yeah, I was that middle schooler). I always wanted to play boy roles because I thought they fit me far better.
I didn’t know what a trans person was until I was about 12, and saw Chaz Bono on tv. I asked some questions and my parents were always willing to answer, which I count myself very lucky for. But it was the first I had heard that anyone could be a different gender than the one assigned at birth, and the first I’d heard of medical transitions.
A few years later, I recall breaking down in tears because I could never play my favorite characters, and I told my dad that I wanted to be a boy. My dad told me that it was a very superficial reason to change your body and I don’t think either of us realized the red flag that was for my future gender experimentation.
When I was 14, I came out as bisexual. I also started wearing makeup a little more, albeit in a very “emo-phase” way, black eyeliner like a raccoon to match my black beanie, side bangs and fingerless gloves. I was introduced to it by a cast mate in a show and I loved how my eyes looked. The more I experimented with makeup, the more I fell into a more feminine role, as that’s the way I thought it should be. If I’m the kind of girl who wakes up early to do makeup, I should also be doing my hair and dressing feminine and cute. But it was always a role.
When I was sixteen, I started dating a boy. I leaned into wearing dresses and lipstick, I leaned into a perfect girlfriend persona, I became what everyone wanted me to be. I thought I was happy. Until I spent time with myself. Until I spoke with my dad. Until I realized I didn’t love my boyfriend.
When I was eighteen, I came out as a lesbian. I became very vocal about it, but oddly, I found myself still in my dresses and flowy tops, long tresses and skirts. I even doubted that other people would know I was gay. I remember having a conversation with a close friend and she told me “no, you’re a classic femme. Don’t worry about it.” So I said “oh, that must be what I am.” And I became that. But I was still playing to other people’s perceptions. I started to become more concerned with “natural makeup,” not being too flashy but still gorgeous. Leaning into classic makeup and dress because this is what I was supposed to be.
When I was twenty, I met this boy in college. We became close friends, and eventually ended up sleeping together a couple times. My attraction to him put me in a state of crisis. I didn’t think I liked guys, but here I was. Did I only say lesbian because I thought it would make the breakup easier?
By this point I had started getting a lot more adventurous and experimental with makeup. I considered it an art form for myself. I wasn’t wearing it for society, or because I thought I needed it. In fact, I went to class quite often bare-faced and thought nothing of it.
I ended up thinking a lot about my gender and sexuality, as I felt less and less comfortable with being called a woman or a girl and more and more leaning towards masculine looks, and quietly stopped calling myself a lesbian, and defaulting to gay. But I always did my makeup the way I wanted to.
Then COVID hit.
Spending this much time with myself made me reevaluate everything. I began to feel as uncomfortable as I was before but now I was able to identify it as dysphoria. I worried that makeup was what made me feel this way, but after a few weeks of bare face, it occurred to me it was not my issue. It was my long hair, my feminine clothes.
I am twenty-one, and I came out as a non-binary person just last month. I have cut my hair and I am in the process of revamping my wardrobe to make me feel more comfortable. I love makeup as much as I did before, but I feel more free about it, despite feeling like I have to remind people that makeup isn’t inherently feminine. I definitely understand that women have been forced into these roles, being expected to wear makeup. As someone who grew up AFAB, I spent a lot of my teenage years being hyper aware of it.
People express themselves in different ways, and makeup is never a must. No one should ever have to wear it if they don’t want to. Makeup is my expression but I’m not wearing it to live up to the expectations of a world who sees me as a woman. It’s part of my existence as an enby, and no one can take that from me. But I make my own post and don’t comment on those women sharing the trauma associated with makeup culture. Because their experiences are valid, the culture surrounding makeup is often shitty, and hopping in to say “well, I wear makeup because I like it and not to adhere to society” undermines the point of these posts.

That Silly Wig!
I’ve never written a short so fast in my entire life of my God! Not a super long one because I have other stuff to do sadly!
I was deeply inspired by the recent drawing of @eileen-crys with her comic and I literally threw everything aside to write this! I gotta stop doing this kind of crap so much so I can focus on my remaining school work! But anyway. Hope you enjoy!
That lovely artwork of hers!

Rounding up what Freddie calls the Deaklings was a lot more difficult than you could ever imagine. Have to make sure that Laura has her favorite stuffed animal, making sure Michael wasn’t annoying Robert too badly, then packing the diaper bag for Josh and his favorite toys. And all without a nanny! Super Mom right here! Though Chrissy has made it very appealing to finally get one but Robert and Michael are basically grown children so it’s a little easier now in a sense.
But today is meant to a very good day for the six of us which includes Deaky. We’re finally spending some family time by taking them out for a picnic in Bushy Park! We’ve been wanting to take the kids there for a while, yet our timing has been non existent. He has to do some filming for a new music video then on lunch he plans on taking a longer one for us to go.
“Alright kids! We’re moving in t-minus five minutes!” Yelling up the stairs for the thunder of children to start running down the stairs. Robert and Michael were the first ones down as Laura was slowly making her way down with her stuffed Fox Brian gave her when she was born.
Grabbing Josh's diaper bag from the floor to throw on my shoulder to then pick him up from his play crib. He wrapped himself around me as I picked him up. Kissing the top of his forehead as I walked out of the house, locking the door to see the kids are already in the car ready to go. Man did we raise some very well behaved kids! Until Robert and Michael start fighting over their toys.
We arrived to the set where they were filming their new music video as the kids beginning to bounce around in the backseat. I pulled into the parking spot to see Brian coming out with his hairs all in plastic curls in his hair and in his regular clothes.
“Uncle Brian!” Laura screamed as they all rushed out of the car to hug their Uncle. I got out to unbuckle Josh for him to cling himself on me again. Ever since Josh was born he’s always just kept himself attached to me and for a reason he hasn’t really had much interest in John which is very concerning. Maybe it’s just a very long phase.
“Well hello there Daisy! What brings you to our neck of the woods?” Brian picked up Laura who gave him a huge hug.
“We’re going on a picnic to Bushy Park!” Richard yelled as we began walking into the set for the hustling and bustling of the crew.
“Say. Where’s Chrissy anyhow?” Asking Brian as he put down Laura.
“She’s got work and the kids are off with my parents for the week so Chrissy and I could have some us time.” Nodding as we turned the corner for Roger to come strutting out in a school girl outfit! Trying to not laugh but Robert was already losing it.
“Uncle Roger is dressed like a girl!” He began strutting himself towards us to make Laura and even Josh giggle a little bit.
“Can’t believe you managed to round up all Dealings in such a fashion!” Roger commented as Robert finally stopped laughing at Roger’s getup. I’m guessing that this was either his idea or Freddie’s idea. But I’m definitely leaning towards Roger at this point because he’s really enjoying himself.
“Let me guess Roger. This was all you?” Asking as he took off his sunglasses to wink at me. Oh goodness it was! Well he looks fantastic! Brian took off his robe to appear in a pink nightgown and to slip on his pinky bunny slippers. Oh dear God! Wait. ARE THOSE JOHNS PINK BUNNY SLIPPERS!? I got John those slippers back in college because he always complained about his feet getting cold whenever he would come over for homework! He still kept them?
“Love the slippers.” Even one of the buttons is missing when Robert pulled them out when he was a baby. I know it seems stupid to be happy about a old pair of bunny slippers but ya know. We’ve been together for so long and with all our children, it's easy to forget the times when we would do silly stuff like that all the time.
“Mommy where’s Dad?” Laura asked as we could hear John and Freddie laughing down the hallway as Paul came out of the dressing room. He looked at us to roll his eyes and continue on his way to wherever he was going. Paul says that bringing our kids to the studio or the set isn’t a good idea, so John always makes sure we stop by to say hello.
“Dad is probably getting ready so we shouldn’t disturb him okay.” I told her as she held onto her toy fox a little tighter. She is definitely daddy’s little girl and at this age feels kind of empty without him. Trust me it’s difficult when he’s at the studio for ungodly hours and she wants John to read her a bedtime story. She doesn’t throw temper tantrums or anything, just gets all quiet and holds onto her fox a little tighter. Such as she’s doing now. Brian bought that for her on her first birthday and she loved it ever since. Trust me she will never let go of it even if her life depended on it. But it is pretty cute so who could blame her.
Roger began walking us to where they were getting ready with Michael riding on his shoulders and Robert walking ahead of us. Not sure why but Michael has always found Roger to be his favorite out of the three of them with Robert being close to Freddie since he spoils the living hell out of them for birthdays and holidays.
“How’s the music going Rog?” I asked him as we rounded the corner to hear Freddie laughing.
“It’s going great! Freddie’s got another hit in the works so it should be something pretty good as always.”
“Awesome! And how's Dom?”
“She’s doing fantastic! Plan on taking her to Switzerland for the week to celebrate our anniversary.” Oh my god when John and I went to Switzerland before Michael was born was such a wonderful time!
“That’s awesome! Tell her I said hello obviously.” Smiling to see Freddie coming out of their dressing room in their costume. Oh my god they look terrific! Freddie wearing a beautiful black wig with huge pink earrings and pink lipstick. He wore a pink sleeveless top and a black leather skirt.
“The Deaklings!” He laughed as Robert ran towards him and gave him a big hug. Like I said Robert was his favorite and Freddie loved Robert. Hell I think Freddie would want to be his godfather.
“Uncle Freddie! Did Dad tell you we finally got a cat!? She’s super fat, super furry, and the biggest green eyes!” Robert told him which made me smile.
“Never thought she would let you! What’s its name!?” Robert dug into his coat pocket to pull out his Polaroid of the new cat.
“Her name is Matilda!” He handed Freddie the pic as he smiled for the fuzzy cat on the picture. Yes we finally got a cat for the family because they’re easy to take care of, and hello! It’s a cat!
“She absolutely gorgeous. Oh my goodness she’s humongous! Can’t wait to meet her whenever I come over for tea!” Him and Robert began going off as John came out of the dressing room looking like an old lady with puffy grey wig. I couldn't help myself to start laughing for my husband to be looking like my own mother! What on earth is Roger doing to my husband!
“My dear husband what has Roger done to you?” Walking over to him as he placed his hand on top of Josh's head to kiss him. Josh turned himself to start reaching for John to scoop him up and give him another forehead kiss to leave a lipstick mark on his head.
“He’s brought me to misery.” He groaned as he leaned in to kiss me. Giving each other peck to see Robert giggling again at John with Michael just smiling.
“Dad why are you dressed up like grandma!?” Robert laughed with made Freddie laugh. Robert definitely gets Deakys witty comments and his ability to make everyone laugh.
“I think you look cool Dad!” Michael cheered.
“Thank you Michael!” John smiled at the children as Freddie grabbed their hands to start walking them to the set for the free food.
“I’m assuming you’re having loads of fun.” Keeping my eye on Josh for him to latch himself around John as I was hoping in the end. Phew.
“Darling of course.” He kissed my lips again as Laura was still hiding behind me. She squeezed her stuffed Fox trying to hold back her sniffling. Her eyes began to water as her sniffling continued to grow a little more louder.
“That’s not my dad, that old lady doesn’t look like dad..where’s dad..” Wait what? We looked down to see her starting to cry.
“THAT’S NOT MY DAD! WHERE IS PAPA!” Laura exploded in tears as we both looked down at her in confusion. She hid her face behind her stuffed Fox for not knowing her own father before her.
“Laura that’s papa! He’s just wearing a silly costume.” Trying to make her smile but it was not working whatsoever. She was still sobbing as John kneeled down to me to hand me Josh. He moved her in front of her so he could face her and try to calm her down.
“Laura, my princess it’s me! It’s just a costume and a little makeup.” He whipped her tears away so she could see John in all his makeup. She still wasn’t convinced so he ripped off his wig for his poofy hair to expand!
“See? A silly wig and makeup!” He smiled to toss the wig on the ground for her to stop crying. She moved the fox away from her face as she jumped into his arms.
“You scared me Papa!” He got up with her in his arms as her fox dangled behind his neck.
“I’m sorry Princess! Papa wouldn’t scare you on purpose!” John held her tightly as he was so upset he made Laura cry. Even though he’s busy with his work, he loves our little Deaklings with all his soul and hates it when they’re upset. Especially his princess.
“Mr. Hamish doesn’t want you to cry now does he.” He grabbed her fox to place in front of her so she could hold it again.
“No Mr. Hamish doesn’t want me to cry Papa.” She giggled as he put her down on the ground to hold her hand. He even went so far to scoop Josh from me so he could walk with his kids to the set. Grabbing his wig from the floor to watch as he walked away with our children laughing with them.
How is it even possible to love someone so much? I feel like my love for him could explode as he’s such a wonderful father, a loving husband, and one cheeky devil.

Sally Maryam Dawn commonly known as Sally Williams, Sal, Lil Ghoul, or Ghost Girl
Sally Maryam Williams, more commonly known as Sally, is the main protagonist of the Creepypasta story "Play With Me". She is a young female spirit who was killed by her uncle. Ever since her unfortunate death, Sally continues to haunt her old house scaring the living daylights out of its current residents and happily playing with it's younger ones.
Sally was a young happy 12-year-old girl living with her parents in a small town. One day, Sally's uncle, Johnny, came to her home and befriended Sally at first. After tucking Sally in bed, Johnny raped Sally and told her not to tell anyone what he did since it was only a "game".
Sally stayed quiet about this as this sexual abuse went on, and one day, when Sally's mother and Sally were alone, Sally bursts into tears and tries to tell her mother what happened by saying, "I didn't want to play his game." Her mother didn't understand and just excused her crying as a bad dream
Johnny then overheard Sally's mother telling Sally's father about what Sally had just told her. Burning with rage, Johnny then told Sally's mother that he was heading to the store and was taking Sally with him, since she allegedly wanted to go too.
Johnny with Sally in his car then traveled to the park instead of the market. He pinned Sally to the ground, beat her up, and raped her again before smashing her head with a rock killing her and leaving her dead on the grass. Sally came back as a poltergeist, and after scaring her uncle to death in his jail cell, she stays back in her old house, playing with the kids and scaring the older people.
Sally normally appears as a young girl with a pink, dirty and blood-stained dress and white socks. Her eyes are bright green, her hair is curly and brown, and her skin is normally seen as dirty, with cuts and bruises all over her body
Sally is kind, silly, playful, and somewhat of a trickster. She can get jealous over small things, such as 'new people' getting to know her playmates, believing they're trying to take them away from her. She likes having most of the attention, usually trying to outdo someone for it, which comes down to her being a trickster. Despite being wary around most adults, loving to scare/prank people and throwing the occasional ghostly destructive temper tantrum, she's mostly neutral towards everyone. But, who can really blame her? She is a kid after all.
Sally can float a few feet off the ground, phase through solid objects, lift certain sized objects (it varies on how 'angry' she is at the time though. Angrier she is, the bigger the object. This has the effect of draining a lot of energy out of her though, so she usually is less active until she can gather enough energy to repeat) and shape-shift between an 8-year-old and a 12-year-old.

All those cheesy romantic movies, the cliché gestures, the mushy materialistic things, and everything else that encompasses modern romance made you want to gag in disgust. Your hatred for the topic isn’t new, and everyone you come into contact with knew this part about you since you’re so open with it. Love itself isn’t gross, but the things that couples do to show it is.
Valentine’s cards, chocolate, and flowers, hearts that are attached to teddy bears, romantic movies, serenading someone, boombox outside the bedroom window, and love songs.
God, you really fucking hate love songs.
I hate Shakespeare and Gosling and cakes with white frosting Two names in a heart-shaped tattoo I think cupid is stupid and violets are purple not blue I hate catching bouquets, the honeymoon phase And letterman jackets don't fit Your eyes can't hold stars and you'd die if your heart really skipped
“I’m glad we have the time to do this,” Jensen said with a smile on his face. He had asked you out a few weeks ago when your older sister Brianna Buckmaster decided to bring you onto set to meet everyone. They had all been so welcoming, and as much as you loved meeting them, Jensen is the one who captured your heart and attention. He was the one to show you around set when Brianna was filming, and he even let you ride in the famous black Impala. After you left that day, you begged Brianna to bring you back some more. You begged her so often, she let you have a piece of her trailer so you could stay in overnights.
“Me too. Are you excited to direct the first episode of season 15?” you asked with a smile as you ate some of your appetizers.
“I am. I’ve directed before, but this is the last season so I really want to try hard and make it count.”
“I’ve seen the episodes you’ve directed, and I have to say if you're that good on those ones, you’re going to be amazing with this one,” you complimented him. Before he had a chance to answer, waitresses and waiters came out of the kitchen holding a cake with white frosting along with a huge red heart on top with two initials on either side of it. They walked right past you and to the couple across from you before saying “Happy Anniversary” to them. You must have shown your disgust because Jensen picked up on this immediately.
“What’s wrong?”
“I hate cakes with white frosting and those red hearts with initials,” you sighed with a shake of your heart.
“Not a fan of romance?”
“I am, just not this cheesy shit. Cakes with white frosting remind me of weddings and that reminds me of catching bouquets, and the honeymoon phase, and it all makes me shiver. I’m all for loving someone, but there isn’t a need in expressing it that much.”
“Good to know,” he chuckled. It should have scared him off, but he was only attractive to you more.
I hate pink hearts with glitter and Valentine's dinner And roses just die in a week We were drunk when we met so we don't know our anniversary, whoops Oh and I'm far too vain to kiss in the rain The clouds, they aren't numbered to nine And you make me feel something but it sure as hell ain't butterflies
“Isn’t it every girl’s dream to be kissed in the rain?” Jensen asked after you two left the theater. Your relationship has been growing and flourishing so much, you were thinking about asking him to move in with you, or you with him. Your sister must be sick and tired of you stealing most of her trailer, and you knew Jenson has complained about his being a little too lonely for his taste.
“Hell no. It’s not mine. Do you know how long it took me to do my hair? Or put on makeup? I’m sorry, but I don’t think any kind of kiss is worth ruining the work I put into making myself look this good,” you said seriously. Jensen laughed at your vanity as the two of you stayed underneath the canopy while you both waited for an Uber to take you back to set.
“You’re incredible, you know that?” he chuckled. He loved how much you didn't like this stuff because all the other girls he’s dated wanted flowers, chocolates, hearts, and all the other mushy stuff. You were different, and he liked it.
“I’m being serious,” you laughed.
“I know you are which is why it’s better than if you’re not,” he chuckled as he took off his jacket so you could use it to shield all of your hard work when the Uber finally pulled up.
And I'll always love you but I don't have to sing it "For worse or for better" don't rhyme They say I got the right one so now I should write one But I'd rather just show you tonight
“Thank God we’re writing our own vows,” you muttered as Brianna helped zip up your beautiful wedding dress. Jensen was waiting at the altar for you, and you couldn’t have been more happy to marry the love of your life. There were many ways that you could show him you love him, but you sure as hell won’t put it in a song and sing it. You’d rather show him than tell him.
“What’s wrong with the traditional vows?” she asked after she was done.
“Come on, ‘for worse or for better’ don’t rhyme. They are such a cliché, and I’d rather use real-life examples to tell him how I feel rather than the traditional ones that everyone uses.”
“Fair enough. You know, Jensen is going to flip when he sees you in that dress.”
“I know,” you grinned. You looked beautiful, and you couldn't wait to see the look on his face as you walked down the aisle.
I hate love songs (I hate love songs) Yeah, I really do (I really do) I hate love songs (I hate love songs) But I love you
“Oh, tonight could not have come any faster,” you huffed as you fell onto the couch next to your husband. Supernatural was over and done with, but he was working on some new projects while you are working on some others. Two different schedules, but you both made sure you had tonight off so you could spend it together.
“I agree,” he smiled as he placed a hand on your thigh lazily with his phone in his other hand. Looking at him, you studied his profile with such admiration and love. This man has been there for you through everything, and your heart couldn't help but swell at the thought of him.
“I love you,” you smiled. He turned his head to you to match the smile you gave him.
“I know.”
