can you not try to gatekeep the term unreality? it’s tagged for things that are common unreality triggers. acting like a fake thing is real is a common unreality trigger. source: me having a fucking psychotic break when the goncharov shit started and i couldn’t figure out what was real and what wasn’t. just because a certain thing doesn’t trigger your unreality doesn’t mean it doesn’t trigger anyone’s. if someone’s blurring the lines between what’s real and what’s fake, they should tag it as unreality. you’re making the internet a less safe place for psychotic ppl.

hi anon. i cant answer this privately because youre on anon, & i do not have the energy for a full blown discussion rn, but like. i hear you, i understand you, & i wish there was an easier solution/middle ground.

admittedly i worded that ask poorly. the fact is that i just wanted to open the dialogue and get the discussion going within the pkmnirl community about whether to continue using the unreality tag, and my explanation of why i'd like ppl to use it less is very off.

like ive had episodes from the goncharov thing as well, along with things like normal-horoscopes AND realpokemon posts so like. i really do get it. the issue is when every single thing is tagged unreality then it becomes unfeasible to filter for it & be a part of the community at the same time, you have to either open everything and risk a trigger or unfilter it and risk a trigger. i had to unfilter the unreality tag myself because ppl were tagging it so indiscriminately that i couldn't tell what was SUPPOSED to be actual unreality or not anymore (which. lol?) and. idk. im just tired. theres not gonna be a one size fits all solution but i want to find something that works for as many ppl as possible

okay so like the entire phenomenon going around with goncharov is absolutely incredible. i think we need this movie.

so here's one way for it to happen.

somebody who is obsessed with goncharov in some way and details in another needs to collect and archive every single fucking post made about goncharov. i know that someone out there exists because they only need to be obsessed with goncharov the way im obsessed with my fic.

once it's archived, they or someone else who's obsessed with details and connections needs to diagram this shit out to create an approximate canon. web it all together - what works, what doesn't, what's popular, what's good, what's contradictory, etc.

then, somebody who is also obsessed with details and also writing (could be the previous person/people, could be a different person) needs to have access to this diagram and the archived content to write out the entire thing. this could also be done by multiple people.

then it needs to be published. goncharov should be a story that remains public use, like a folk tale. this way, multiple versions can be made, lots of people can have fun with it, and when it comes time for movie adaptations, we've got lots of options.

then it's only a matter of time until someone, also obsessed with goncharov, and probably someone with access to the resources to make a movie, takes it and runs with it.

and if all of that happens, we could have goncharov, we could have multiple versions of goncharov, we could have a crackpot fanon theory that all the versions of goncharov take place in a goncharov multiverse, we could have more goncharov fanfic and fanart, we could have so much to work with.

before all of that happens, though, we should just have fun with it. i do worry that too much commercialization and taking it mainstream too soon could ruin it - hence why it should be in the public domain.

anyways. i know very little about goncharov but it looks absolutely incredible from what i do know. my brain is frothing trying to figure out how to chew on multiple things at once so that i could participate in this project, but i don't think that's a good idea, and i also don't think i could do it justice. take this idea or don't. either way im loving this wholeheartedly.
