Kinda out of nowhere but I didn't watch the Oscars so I just heard Emma Stone won best lead actress and I'm like weirdly emotional about it...legit wasn't expecting that (and neither was Emma from the clips I've seen lol) and It was absolutely the best choice I love and connected with Bella so much... I don't usually care for who the Oscars chooses to win but that just made me so so happy ouuusgshggs

The Morning After - Golden Globes Edition
Tumblr media
It might not be morning anymore, but that’s a direct result of everyone who has come to me to chat about the awards today or sent me some sort of msg or reply on social media.  I love it by the way, keep it coming :)
That said, I’ve mashed together a list of last night’s 75th Golden Globe nominees and winners, some of the responses that I tweeted after each category was announced, and some additional notes from...the morning after.
There aren’t remarks below each category, cause let’s face it, some things I’m just no expert on.
*Disclaimer: These opinions are based on the fact that I still haven't seen The Post, All The Money In the World, nor Phantom Thread yet.
Best Motion Picture, Drama
Dunkirk
The Post
The Shape of Water
Call Me by Your Name
WINNER: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Ada's Tweet: And so #tiff audiences accurately predict another Best Motion Picture (drama)
The win doesn't surprise me, but I would have liked to see Dunkirk or Call Me by Your Name take it. The Shape of Water winning it as the underdog would also have made my day for that matter.
Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy
The Disaster Artist
Get Out
The Greatest Showman
I, Tonya
WINNER: Lady Bird
Ada's Tweet: I really did like Ladybird, but I’m gonna say that Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Music probably should have been I,Tonya or The Disaster Artist. But Greta Gerwig’s hyperventilating joy... She’s just enjoying the shit outta this, and so she should. #goldenglobes
In an even more ideal situation... Gretta Gerwig should have received a Best Directing nomination, Margot Robbie should have won a Best Actress Award, and this category should have gone to The Disaster Artist.  Bottom line really is that I, Tonya deserved more recognition than it got last night.
Best Director
WINNER: Guillermo del Toro, The Shape of Water
Martin McDonagh, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Christopher Nolan, Dunkirk
Ridley Scott, All the Money in the World
Steven Spielberg, The Post
Ada’s Tweet: Super pleased that #GuillermoDelToro won best director #glodenglobe #thatsrightlowerthemusic
As I said, I think Gretta Gerwig should have been a nominee in this category. A friend asked me which director I would have traded off... and as soon as I see All The Money in the World and The Post I will let you know which one, cause I'm willing to get it'll be one of them.
Best Actor, Motion Picture, Drama
Timothée Chalamet, Call Me by Your Name
Denzel Washington, Roman J. Israel, Esq.
Tom Hanks, The Post
Daniel Day-Lewis, Phantom Thread
WINNER: Gary Oldman, Darkest Hour
Ada's Tweet: If you haven’t seen Gary Oldman’s performance in the Darkest Hour, it’s not to be missed. He makes the movie. #goldenglobes
Though if you haven't see Timothee Chalamet's performance in Call Me By Your Name, that's not to be missed either.  If I had to pick tho, I think Oldman was the right choice.
Best Actress, Motion Picture, Drama
Jessica Chastain, Molly’s Game
Sally Hawkins, The Shape of Water
WINNER: Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Meryl Streep, The Post
Michelle Williams, All the Money in the World
...I didn't tweet about this one because I was responding to an SMS...
C: Is Francis drunk or she just eccentric???
    A: Whatever, she's buying tequila!
Best Actor, Motion Picture, Comedy
Steve Carell, Battle of the Sexes
Ansel Elgort, Baby Driver
WINNER: James Franco, The Disaster Artist
Hugh Jackman, The Greatest Showman
Daniel Kaluuya, Get Out
Best Actress, Motion Picture, Comedy
Judi Dench, Victoria & Abdul
Margot Robbie, I, Tonya
WINNER: Saoirse Ronan, Lady Bird
Emma Stone, Battle of the Sexes
Helen Mirren, The Leisure Seeker
Ada's Tweet: I hate to say it...but thinking Best Actress Musical or Comedy maybe should have gone to Margot Robbie... #goldenglobes
Saoirse Ronan was very good, but Margot Robbie was great.
Best Supporting Actor, Motion Picture
Willem Dafoe, The Florida Project
Armie Hammer, Call Me by Your Name
Richard Jenkins, The Shape of Water
WINNER: Sam Rockwell, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Christopher Plummer, All the Money in the World
Ada's Tweet: Sam Rockwell for Best Supporting Actor, his was a truly a stellar performance. #goldenglobes #bestsupportingactor
I watched Three Billboards at the People Choice Screening at TIFF and while it's a very powerful film, it's not one of my favoured films of these award seasons.  I did however say while exiting the theatre that Sam Rockwell deserves an Oscar for that performance. He was the standout in an already spectacular cast who all brought their A+ game to begin with.
Best Supporting Actress, Motion Picture
Mary J. Blige, Mudbound
Hong Chau, Downsizing
WINNER: Allison Janney, I, Tonya
Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird
Octavia Spencer, The Shape of Water
Ada's Tweet: Was a tough choice between the battle of the moms (Laurie Metcalfe & Allison Janney) but the crazier one won. #goldenglobes
The best mom won too.
Best Screenplay
The Shape of Water
Lady Bird
WINNER: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
The Post
Molly’s Game
Honestly this was probably the toughest category for me to call. It's a day later and I still can't tell you why I agree with the Three Billboards win, nor why any of these others are inferior to it. And I haven't even seen The Post and I can vouch that it's a well-written screenplay :P
Best Original Song
“Home,” Ferdinand
“Mighty River,” Mudboumd
“Remember Me,” Coco
“The Star,” The Star
WINNER: “This Is Me,” The Greatest Showman
Best Original Score
Carter Burwell, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
WINNER: Alexandre Desplat, The Shape of Water
Jonny Greenwood, Phantom Thread
John Williams, The Post
Hans Zimmer, Dunkirk
Best Animated Feature
The Boss Baby
The Breadwinner
WINNER: Coco
Ferdinand
Loving Vincent
I really don't know much about animated features, but can someone verify that The Boss Baby really deserved its nomination? Just wanna make sure...
Best Foreign Language Film
A Fantastic Woman
First They Killed My Father
WINNER: In the Fade
Loveless
The Square
Ada's Tweet: I didn’t think In The Fade would win Best Foreign film but I’m really glad it did! #GoldenGlobes
Best Television Series, Drama
WINNER: The Handmaid’s Tale
This Is Us
The Crown
Game of Thrones
Stranger Things
I need to watch The Handmaid's Tale..
Best Television Series, Comedy
Black-ish
WINNER: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Master of None
SMILF
Will & Grace
Best Limited Series or Television Movie
WINNER: Big Little Lies
Feud: Bette and Joan

Top of the Lake: China Girl
The Sinner
I'm really not caught up on my "award-winning TV " watching, but at least I can say I've seen Big Little Lies and Feud: Bette and Joan!
Best Actress, Limited Series or Television Movie
WINNER: Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies
Reese Witherspoon, Big Little Lies
Jessica Lange, Feud: Bette and Joan
Susan Sarandon, Feud: Bette and Joan
Jessica Biel, The Sinner
Ada’s Tweet:  Politics playing any part in Nicole winning for her performance in #BigLittleLies ? Regardless it was talent-packed category, I’ve seen them all, and she was the best (not to mention one of my fav dresses tonight) #goldenglobes
