Encanto/Beauty & the Beast AU: The Butterfly & The Dark One

Here is a sneak peek to a short fic I'm writing for this AU:

Queen Alma Madrigal of Encanto was standing in the corridor of the castle, looking fondly at the family portraits that lined the walls.

Right now, the family patriarch stood in front of two framed portraits.

The first portrait of her late husband; Pedro Madrigal.

The second portrait was a younger Alma with her three triplet children. Alma wearing her usual black shawl draped over her dress and holding the magical candle in her hands. Standing in front of her were her children; Princess Pepa, Princess Julieta, and Prince Bruno, each one only five years old.

So many years had passed since those portraits had been placed onto the castle walls. So much had changed, so much was different now.

Now, their home was in danger, their kingdom, their people. Early this week, a group of bandits had passed the mountain borders that surrounded the kingdom. Throwing riots and hiding out in the woods near the village, threatening the kingdom of Encanto.

The Madrigals and the guards did everything possible to force the bandits out of the kingdom but to no avail. With little to no choice, Alma sought help from someone outside of the family.

A powerful sorcerer who had the power to protect all of them… but for a price.

“Mama?”

Queen Alma turned towards the voice with a slight startle. Carefully turning to the side, Alma saw her now-grown daughter, Pepa standing just a few feet away with her second eldest granddaughter, Dolores.

“He just entered the walls of the kingdom,” Dolores said in a hushed voice.

Meanwhile, the sound of approaching hooves pounding against the stone ground echoes throughout the air of the village, and dark clouds swirled around in the sky. The noise, as well as an approaching storm, prompted parents to pull their children back into their homes and others to draw their curtains shut.

As the last villager's door slammed shut, a hooded figure riding on top of a dark brown horse rushed by. The mysterious rider wore a raggedy, dark green cloak with a hood pulled low over his head. Concealing his face from any brave soul who dared look his way.

A dark and sinister aura seemed to follow the hooded figure, for every plant and flower he passed by would instantly shrivel up and wither away in the blink of an eye.

The evening air seemed to grow colder with his presence.

The mysterious rider was known by everyone in Encanto for practicing the darkest arts of magic. But while everyone knew who he was, no one seemed to know his true identity. The sorcerer always had his hood pulled over his head, so no one had a clue of his appearance.

Rumors immediately began to spread about the man's identity.

Since no one knew who he was, the people of Encanto had named their mysterious sorcerer; The Dark One.

And he wore that name with pride.

Just then, the Dark One pulled back on his horses' reins, prompting a piercing neigh from the animal as he dug his hooves against the stone ground. The horse stopped just a few inches away from the long stone bridge that stretched over a large moat towards the gates of the Castle Madrigal.

From beneath his hood, the eyes of the Dark One glowed, and two bright green eyes stared up at the home of the Madrigal Family.

So the new minecraft update came out yesterday and that means the warden came out in the update. So I was thinking between all the bosses and mini bosses - ended dragon, wither, elder guardian and now the warden .. why isn’t there like an au for encanto with minecraft mobs ?

Like the triplets and alma can be these bosses and mini bosses while the others are different mobs

I don’t know which mobs they’d be but it can be like Isabella as a bee because of plants - or a moobloom or Dolores as the panda or a cat etc etc . I’m not sure on what the adults would be however (minus the grandkids who are adults)

Is Mirabel going to join her Severel threads, all Reincarnated, Royalty and RTC selves?

How's the fight going to go now?

It doesn’t. Luisa just drops Isabela like a sack of potatoes (who, as you can imagine, ain’t doing a whole lot with no arms) and runs back to Mirabel. Bundling her hermanita in her arms, taking over the fabric pressing and leaves.

She heads to Antonio’s room, tears the vines off the door and goes to the for help. She hand expected to find her father in there, but added bonus.

Agustín and Camilo are sent to deal with Isabela now that she in “unarmed” as Luisa says. Meanwhile, she sends Antonio to ride ahead into town on Parce and tell the doctors that she’s coming with Mirabel. She’ll be a bit behind him, as she wants to check that they don’t still have any of Julieta’s cooking first.

To Withered alive Madrigals: What do you feel about Isabela now after she attacked Mirabel?

Yeah, there’s too many people alive and not enough font colours for this 😂. When did they remove yellow? Anyways…

Mirabel is petrified as previously established.

Luisa is one of the few who gets over her shock. Yeah, it’s shocking, but Isabela committed crimes and should face the consequences for them.

Julieta and Agustín are in shock, they are doing the best to be there for the boys. Considering the idea of adopting them, though the girls aren’t pleased about gaining Camilo as a brother.

The boys themselves aren’t too focused on Isabela, understandably more of the loss of their parents and Dolores.

Alma is kind of in denial about the whole thing, she doesn’t believe her perfect Isabela would. She believes Mirabel has something to do with this, at least from a magic side, but has no proof so doesn’t do much with it.

How many people have went missing the next morning? Is here any of the Madrigals aside from Dolores on the list?

The number is at thirteen. Three of whom being Madrigal: Dolores, Pepa and Félix.

It’s a bad day to be Antonio and Camilo.

To Withered cold Family: How do you feel now after Isabela tried to smash the candle?

Not gonna lie, the look on Alma’s face was worth it.

¡Ay dios mio! I can’t believe she would ever do that! Isabela has always been so well-behaved and as delicate as a rose—

I think I’m having one of those non-sleeping nightmares again… I should probably sleep more.

¿Cómo es que Isabela puede actuar como una mocosa egoísta y con derechos, rompiendo cualquier objeto valioso que quiera, pero de alguna manera soy yo el que está en problemas?

When will Withered Isabela discover all her powers?

Not for a while yet, so I can’t spoil it. But as I don’t want to leave you with nothing, I’ll continue where I left off.

That evening, Isabela does go for the candle.

Fairly easy given the fact that she is probably one of two people Alma would trust it with, so nobody really batted an eye when she suddenly appeared with it in her grasp in the courtyard.

Well… all but Dolores, who may have overheard something earlier. Isabela had threatened her to keep quiet through dinner, but as we all know, that only lasts so long with Dolores. She burst open with the information and was met with confusion, shock and disbelief.

Isabela claims, “I have to do this.” And throws the candle hard to the floor.

The impact from the magic throws them all (including Luisa, to everyone’s surprise) back, crashing into the nearest wall. The candle itself breaks into pieces as soon as it hits the floor, halves going everywhere; the flame flickering. Casita and the rest of Encanto begins to shake, some cracks appearing in the structure of Casita.

The family, though still confused, begin to panic - the adults begin shouting about leaving, meanwhile Luisa tries to support the building as best she can. Mariano helps Isabela to sit up and from their place on the floor, they both watch the top half of the candle with the wick roll. It eventually stops, having hit Antonio’s foot.

He nervously and unsurely picks it up, though both Dolores and Julieta (who are the closest to him) tell him not to do it. With shaky hands, he dusts it off and stumbles over to hand it to his Abuela. Against all expectations, the flame stops flickering, still burning brightly. The cracks recede back into the walls, the building and the mountains stop trembling.

The family are all relieved, getting up and making sure everything/everyone is okay. Alma thanks and praises Antonio. Mariano is sat in confusion over what just happened and Isabela is frozen in shock that it didn’t work.

She screams, pulling herself to her feet and lunges for the boy, but Mariano quickly pulls her back before she can do anything. (He does not agree to actually hurting or killing anyone, let alone an innocent little boy of five). Nobody seems to notice that she went for Antonio and Alma, blinded by favouritism, believes Isabela only tried to destroy the candle to protect them.

And, as usual in the family Madrigal, the blame falls to Mirabel’s feet; right where the bottom of the candle is. (Just to clarify, she did not touch or pick it up - who knows what would happen if the giftless one touched the special candle?)

You have au where you fucked up ruined Luisa's and Mirabel's mental state (Protector and Jinxed). I think it's completely unfair that Isabela doesn't have one too.

Maybe she snapped about marrying Mariano?

Villain Isabela AU is underway, guys! I just need a name for it.

Basically canon divergence:

No cracks, Mirabel does not go to find a vision and never discovers Bruno in the walls. This means that the proposal goes perfectly according to plan, meaning that Isabela and Mariano are now engaged. As the wedding planning begins, Isabela finds it harder and harder to be the bride and wife everyone expects her to be. Ultimately, she snaps.
