so the reason we're going to france is bc my dad booked some gigs at festivals there and it's gonna be interesting bc i haven't been in that position (experiencing music festivals as a family member of a performer) since probably like 2018 so this will be my first time as an adult. and also i genuinely have no idea how folk festivals in france might compare to folk festivals in canada in terms of organization and general culture & vibe. so i'm trying not to construct an image in my mind of like. the 2016 edmonton folk festival bc a) we will not be in edmonton and b) i am not 13 anymore. i'm curious as to how it's actually gonna play out tho much to think about

well shit. just checked out the lineup 4 bluesfest this year and i may have 2 actually brave the crowds 4 once. there might just be enough ppl id wanna see to make it worth it, altho tbh matthew good is almost enough for that on his own lol coz like. matthew good!!! that's the music of my freakin childhood man!! Russian pavilion shut out of Edmonton Heritage Festival due to safety concerns, threats

This makes me so fucking mad. My stomach is turning and I am livid.

How Dare this organization punish Canadian Russian Descendents and Russian Immigrants for the actions of a government that is not HERE!! That has no control here! Fascism is not Russian heritage.

The Russian people are poisoned and hurting and you want to ostracize and discriminate against them?

I understand new Ukrainians fleeing the war are here and newly safe. But they cannot exert the control here that Russia is attempting over them!!

This is unjust and I personally would stand proud in defence of all pavillions as a citizen of Canada and the Salt River First Nation.

I am absolutely ashamed of this organizations stance to not support the PEOPLE.

You are choosing to give in to terrorism and fear mongering. You are punishing inocent people for crimes they have NO hand in!

This is horrifying....

I urge you to reconsider and instead make better efforts to protect the people in attendance. Make a show of unity in Canada and not give in to "All Russia Bad" mentalities like the Muslim community faced!

This needs to stop happening!

Rob Ramsay 2014-2023

In 2011 Rob Ramsey starred in the satirical comedy short film Patch Town. In 2014 a feature version was made using some footage from the short film and add new footage.

The above photos are from the 2014 version of the dark fantasy comedy Patch Town.

Rob Ramsay was in 4 episodes of Kid's Show, The Thundermans on Nickleodeon in the 2014/2015 season.

Rob Ramsay reprised his role as Donnie Schrab in 2016 feature film Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland that was made as a follow-up to the TV show as it had gained a cult following. The film was shot in 2014.

Rob Ramsay co-starred in the action-comedy film First Round Down which premiered at the Edmonton Film Festival in October 2016. Rob appeared shirtless in this one.

In 2019 Rob Ramsay guested on an episode of What We Do in the Shadows as the poor victim of Colin Robinson, the Energy Vampire and another specialty vampire, an Emotional Vampire.

Rob Ramsay played a mean nurse in It: Chapter Two, the remake of It in 2019.

In 2020 Rob Ramsay appeared on 2 episodes of Anne with an E, a Netflix Original Series in 2020. I believe he played a milkman.

Rob Ramsay appeared on an episode of the action-crime show In the Dark on The CW in 2021.

Rob Ramsay appeared on an episode of mystery-police show Hudson & Rex in 2022 on Canadian outlet CityTV.

Got a question for Drum to round out my camping trip themed asks! While dinosaurs aren't exactly paranormal, the current town of Drumheller does contain the hamlet and ghost town of Wayne. Have you ever brought Paula and Vulcan with you to check it out? For that matter, what's it like living by a ghost town? And what (if anything) does that do to the municipality representative that lived there?

We did pass by Wayne on our way into Drumheller but didn't stop, by that time we were so tired and ready to go home hahaha. As usual, Drumheller belongs to @zomsaurus (and who has dibs on designing Wayne too hahaha) (let us know when you go on your research trip :) )

Meta Stuff

this is kind of my feeling on what makes a personification exist. I think if a town's population was relocated or only exists in memory, their connection to our world starts to fade

(This is also why non-municipal personifications like nations would probably be a bit tougher and more resilient, to a point.)

(and I'm still concerned about something like Fort Walsh that was rebuilt as an educational tool as kind of a reanimated corpse? lol)

Wayne technically exists as part of Drumheller, like a microcosm of how Strathcona exists as part of Edmonton, so I think amalgamation is one way to cheat death also.

In Hetalia canon there has been one case where a micronation "gave up" and "went back to being a human", though I'm not sure that interpretation works with the way I do things. Interesting to think about, anyway!

A bit more on the Hetalia approach: Prussia is "retired" and it's suggested in this linked scan that he's slowly becoming increasingly mortal. Ancients like Rome will still appear in the dreams of their descendants as well.

Some fun facts about Wayne

Last I heard, Wayne's population was 28 whole people! At its peak, it had about 2,500.

I think the Rosedeer Hotel / Last Chance Saloon is under new management now, but it's one of the big attractions. If you don't mind the shared washroom down the hall, perhaps the honeymoon suite is for you!

The saloon also has real bullet holes in the walls (framed), though they're from an incident in the 1970s rather than the 1910s

How is Wayne related to Red? Kid sibling? haha. Coal town origins, as is true of many ghost towns...

Waynestock is a big music festival/camping event in early September. It lasts 3 days and features about a hundred artists!

You might recognize Wayne in the movies. Shanghai Noon was partially filmed there!
