rafaelcasal | Did an interview with the homie @ec0utez this weekend and she reminded me she has been interviewing @daveeddiggs and I for the past 12 years, chronicling our careers, asking us hard questions, supporting our small successes and always front row at our shows and milestone moments. I went back and listened to our first interview at pirate cat radio in 2010. It reminded me that there is this beautiful artistic conversation always growing between artists - some who tell fictional stories and those who document the stories unfolding in our real world. Both interviewee and interviewer as artists, both historians or reporters or contextualizers in our own ways. But after a while, we are just a part of each other’s stories. A big thank you to the amazing writers/journalists who have and continue to contextualize and discuss our work with love and curiosity, and helped spread the reach of our work from near complete obscurity to now, wherever now is, and beyond. In the end there will not only be a record the evolution of the art, but of ourselves in conversation. How beautiful, how special. Thanks for always bringing peach rings.
