easter at the chateau was pretty non existent. atleast until bunny!reader came along.

they’d heard you before they saw you, the sweetest thing clad in white — bunny ears flopping atop your head and basket rumbling in your hand as you run across the dry grass, attracting attention of the two males on the porch.

“happy easter!” you squeal, diving into jj’s arms and wrapping your legs around his waist.

“jesus girlie, you got a rocket up your ass or what?” he pats your butt, his own smile unable to be hidden, always happy to see you. you jump down, straightening out your skirt.

“hi sweetheart.” john b seems less alarmed, arms crossed as he leans against the front door hinge. “uh, what’chu got there?”

“your first clue!” you pant, still out of breath from your eccentric entrance. you reach into the otherwise nearly empty basket, merely there for appearances and pull out a neatly folded pastel pink card, handing it to john b.

“clue?” he frowns, opening it up as jj wanders curiously over to his side.

“you guys are always chasing treasure so i decided to make you guys a little easter hunt!” you grin, eyes glimmering hopefully at the two. jj points his finger at you.

“now that? that is adorable. can this little hunt maybe like, wait until i’ve had some breakfast? or—”

“you have to do it now!” your voice cracks, looking devastated at his lack of enthusiasm.

“—you know what now is the perfect time for a hunt, actually so— that’s perfect, yeah—”

john b is smiling down at the card, reading the rhyming clue you’d scrawled in pretty little curlicue. it was terribly easy, but incredibly sweet. the brunette touches his chest with a genuine smile, looking back up at you.

“healing my inner child right now, y’know that?”

his blonde best friend snatches the card, adjusting his pants with the other hand as he reads over it. “when’d you have time to hide all these clues around anyway?”

“last night! when you guys were sleeping.” comes your simple smile, fiddling with the lace trim of your mini skirt. they look at you, and then eachother before shrugging.

“yeah, checks out.”

you follow them around, giggling on their tails as they pretend to struggle with your clues. when they arrive at the last card, you scramble away— waiting for them in the bedroom where the hunt ends, shedding your clothes to reveal a frilly white lingerie set, and presenting a carrot cake you’d baked just for them.

when they bust in casually, you’re stood with a grin — stopping them in their tracks. john b’s eyebrows jump up as his gaze rakes over you and jj is quick to fix his cap, licking his lips. “woah—”

“tada! s’me! i’m the prize!” you can barely contain your excitement. small kitten heels with the fluffy ball at the toe tip tapping against the wooden floors. john b is the first to break into a grin, closing in on you.

“you know, i had my suspicions that might be the case, but i didn’t wanna presume…” his voice is warm and deep and you’re already biting your glossy lip, gazing up at him like he hung the moon and stars as he strokes the skin around your waist.

“wow, really guys? on such a holy day?” jj sarks with faux disapproval as if he isn’t actively working his belt off his shorts. you thump your foot lightly.

“guys! you have to try the carrot cake first. worked hard on it.” you’re pouting, fluttering spiky black lashes up at your boyfriends as the darker haired of the two twiddles with the white fluffy bunny ears you’d secured to the top of your head.

“yeah screw that.” jj scoffs. you furrow your eyebrows, john b shooting him a look. “oh you know i love your baking babydoll but right now i got my mind on eatin’ one thing and one thing only.” he approaches with a charming smile, dropping a kiss to your lips as john b works your panties down your legs.

“pussy?” the brunette tilts his head.

“yep, pussy. definitely pussy.”

How to romanticise Spring:

Some ideas and things you can do to romanticise the Spring season 🫧˚˖𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒✧˚.🧚🏻‍♀️.

Spring Wardrobe - Spring is the perfect time to start integrating new pieces into your wardrobe. Long flowing dresses, maxi skirts, pretty blouses, milkmaid dresses/shirts, rompers, dungarees, mini skirts, cami’s and so much more. Make sure to add a pair of new Spring pumps (Mary janes are perfect) and some pretty floral hair bandanna’s and flower crowns in there too. Pastel pinks, yellows, blues, greens and white fit perfect for this time of year, along with patterns and materials like floral print and lace 🩰

Change your eating habits. Put away the comfort food from winter and indulge in the delicious delicacy’s of Spring. Fresh fruit and vegetables can make endless recipes for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, sweet things like Oatmeal, Honey, gelato and any particularly sweet fruits are perfect for this time of year 🍒🥗🍵

Consume Spring media 💐 The media you consume affects your mood, consuming uplifting Spring content will not only make you feel happier in yourself, but will also make you look forward to and romanticise the season more. I have a list of Movies, TV shows & books you can consume in Spring that I will be uploading shortly ☀️

Read Spring books. There are SO many out there, classics are perfect for this time of year but any whimsical, forest-core, fantasy story’s like “The Hobbit” or “The legend of King Arthur” are perfect too 📖

Listen to classical music, movie soundtracks and pretty instrumentals whenever you are doing any of the following activities (I find it helps romanticising a lot! 🎶🌷)

Have a picnic outside - Bring a wicker picnic basket, beautiful picnic blanket, fancy plates and cutlery and have a picnic fit for a countryside princess outside, either at the park or in a field. Wear a big sun hat to keep shaded from the sun and be sure to bring the essentials (Princess picnic food can include miniature sandwiches, scones, cookies, cakes & cupcakes, fruits like strawberries, cherries and apples, any snacks you can think of, lemonade and sweet iced tea) 🌷

Host a Tea Party (either indoors or outside) Set a table with all your finest dinnerware pieces, wear a floaty dress and white gloves, and use your most precious Teapot to pour fruity and sweet flavoured teas into any delicate teacups you can find. You can even make this Bridgerton inspired and have a high-tea esque party. With cookies and strawberry shortcake, cupcakes and miniature sandwiches. Make sure to set the table with a pretty tablecloth, fresh flowers and napkins/fine cutlery for yourself or your guests. Play some classical music and enjoy 🫖

Go berry/fruit picking. This time of year is perfect for Strawberry, Cherry’s & fruit picking in general. Wear a big straw hat, a long dress and don’t forget to bring your basket with you to collect the fruit in 🍓

Visit a flower field 🌸 💐 this time of year, flowers are in full bloom. Wear the most beautiful dress and a flower crown, so you are ready to twirl in the flower fields to your hearts content 🌷

Bake new Spring recipes. There are SO many Spring/Easter baking ideas on Pinterest. Have a look at any and compile a list of Bakes you want to try this Spring season 🍰

Cook new Spring recipes, you can even incorporate any new foods you have tried into the recipes and be sure to write them down in your recipe book 🥧

Make flower crowns! You can use fresh flowers or fake flowers, some wire or plain headbands. Get creative with them, use flowers, gems, lace, ribbon (this is a lovely activity to do with friends outside) 🌸

Press flowers (Such a Spring fairy activity!) any wild flowers you find (preferably dying or damaged) take them home and press them in a heavy book

Go on Forest Fairy walks. Explore your local forests, parks, meadows in the most vibrant green and pink dresses, wear flower crowns and just be one with nature, listen to fairytale music and take in the wildlife and nature around you 🧚‍♀️

Decorate your bedroom/space for Spring. This can be as simple as changing the bedding or by going all out and re-decorating your room completely. Fresh flowers, fake plants, cottage-core illustrations of animals look lovely too 🌷

Celebrate Easter like a Spring princess (really get into it this year) enjoy a beautiful Spring breakfast, paint eggs, eat chocolate, do some Easter bakes in the kitchen, make Easter Sunday a special day for you 🐣

Journal/Sketch/Paint - Painting outside is one of my favourite things to do, and you could even set up your easel/painting supplies in a garden or local field and paint the scenery 💐 Journalling all about your pretty Spring days can be uplifting and I find that sketching illustrations of Flowers, woodland animals and just Nature in general makes me feel so at ease any time I do so 🦢

Visit historical places like castles, botanical gardens and garden centres. These places are always abloom in Spring. Most of these places offer café’s and afternoon tea’s too! 🌸

Visit a cute Café for afternoon tea 🫖 (Make sure to wear a pretty outfit!)

Go frolicking in meadows. Roll down hills and twirl in flower fields 🌼

Feed birds and take time out to Spend time with nature and wildlife 🐰

Steve’s favorite Christmas tradition growing up was making homemade advent calendars.

He has fond memories of taking over the dining room table with supplies while his mom hovered over him. Of scouring the annual Christmas catalog for what he might want this year before cutting them out carefully with a pair of scissors. Glueing the cutout pictures to the top of the fluorescent green poster board at the top like a star before creating a candy tree with wrapped chocolates (and maybe stealing one or two for all the hard work he’d been doing).

It was a tradition he always looked forward to. Unfortunately, it came to an abrupt end when the ants found the chocolate one, infiltrating the homemade calendar and the entire Harrington kitchen two days before Christmas. He’s never seen his mom so stressed out before.

After that, the only advent calendars found in the Harrington house were those decorative wooden ones with little trinkets inside. It was fun for Steve the first year when he didn’t know what was hidden behind the little doors. But year after year of opening the same wooden creatures got old, fast.

And so the advent calendar tradition faded away.

Until now.

Now that he has his own place with Robin and Eddie, he’s bringing it back.

The trio spends the last day of November working on their calendars. Their small living room coffee table is littered with catalogs, poster boards, and a questionable amount of candy. Robin’s going crazy with a container of glitter that’s probably going to end up caked into the carpet and Eddie’s hard at work drawing his gifts instead of going the “easy route.”

Steve’s in the middle of it all, sprawled out on the floor with his own advent calendar feeling like a kid again. What does he want? What candy is he going to decorate with? The possibilities are endless.

By the time dinner rolls around, the trio have finished their unique advent calendars and tack them up on the door to their small pantry. Easy access for them to grab a piece of candy every morning and a constant reminder of how many days left they have to finish their Christmas shopping.

Steve wakes up early on December 1st eager to pluck the first candy from his homemade calendar. Just like yesterday, he feels like a kid again, giddily sliding into the kitchen. The calendars are exactly where they left them, except something is wrong.

No ants, thank god, but Eddie’s calendar is completely void of candy. Nothing but tiny scraps of colored foil wrapping left behind — something got into them. A someone to be exact. Following the trail of colored foil littering the floor, Steve stalks into the adjacent kitchen and finds Eddie shoving a mini Reese Peanut Butter Cup into his mouth before adding the empty wrapper to the mountain of colored foil in front of him.

“Eddie!” He shouts, startling the man from his slumber. “You’re supposed to eat one a day, not the whole damn thing!”

“Moderation is for losers, Stevie,” he mumbles through a mouthful of candy. Swallowing carefully, he offers Steve a chocolate-teeth-covered grin as he waves his hands around the mess. “This is what Christmas is all about.”

“Eds,” Steve sighs. “You’ve got your holidays mixed up. Halloween is the one where you make yourself sick on candy.”

Eddie huffs, shaking his head. “And Easter, and Christmas,” Eddie says, ticking them off with his chocolate-covered finger. “Valentine’s Day if you’re lucky. Hell, any day is a make yourself sick with candy day if you try hard enough!”

“You’re ridiculous,” Steve says, shaking his head as he begins to clean up Eddie’s mess. He doesn’t have to, knows that Eddie will do it himself, but he figures he might as well help considering the stomach ache is going to hit him sooner rather than later.

“Hey, what happened to Eddie’s advent calendar?” Robin asks, shuffling into the kitchen with her allotted piece of candy for the morning.

“Why have one when you can have them all?” Eddie grins.

“You know what, that’s a great idea!” She says, turning on her heel and heading back to her own calendar.

Steve sighs, he should have seen this one coming, but how can he deny his best friends the joy of Christmas candy? Even if it means he’ll be paying the price as caretaker later when he’s holding back their hair.

“I think we should make this a new tradition!” Eddie says.

“I’ll be making an advent calendar next year,” Steve says. “You two are getting put on probation."

I made an Easter cake!

Chocolate sponge with hazelnut mascarpone cream filling and chocolate ganache coating. The moss/grass is dessicated coconut and digestive biscuits with food colouring. Sugar flowers, bees and ladybugs are commercial sprinkles/cake decorations. I made the mushrooms out of marzipan, painted them, and used sesame seeds for spots. And the egg hunt is courtesy of Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Last book I read: Last book I finished was The Prisoner's Throne by Holly Black, but the last book I read was A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske (we are now 60% in and waist deep in sex scenes lol)

Last film I watched: Encanto! I rewatched it over three days, like damn why did I do that to myself I was crying 9am before a train journey.

Last TV series: Last TV series I finished was Big Mood (with its Tim Downie jumpscare) but last TV show I watched was Fantasy High Junior Year

Last thing I googled: ...'Strahd and Tatyanna'. I feel like that's the response a ChatGPT version of me would give as well. How about I just go throw myself off a bridge huh?

Last thing I ate: A chocolate crispy cake with mini eggs for Easter lol.

Amount of sleep: standard anxiety haver of 'attempt for 8 hrs, typically lie awake staring at the ceiling for 1.5hrs standard while the brain plays either the top 5 concerns in your life or the Distraction Movie on repeat' (6-7hrs last night lol)

Currently reading: Oh damn I didn't realise this was the question coming up. A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske and then after that either a birthday gift book or The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo depending on when my pre-order arrives. Also still on Sunshine by Robin McKinley but it's slowed down and I've lost interest, and I've just joined a Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell reading group!
