how much $ did u get from sales from malmaid & other VNs on itch/steam? i wanna upload my VNs on itch/steam but 1. idk how much i wanna price it (like... yeah its free but for the pwyw slot for itch) & 2. (for steam) idk if the 100$ steam price for Uploading is worth it/if ppl will like/buy it (am insecure/nervy #girl :'3) .. i luvv ur work n i love seeing ur works it Makes me v happy thank you!!!!
disclaimer everything here is my opinion and perspective from me in this current moment of my life so just take everything with a grain of salt and preferably look for others perspectives to compare to. ultimately its something everyone kinda have to figure out on their own and do what works for them..
but that being said theresa lot of things to say here so ill just start with like... every dev i see says that if you're gonna sell your game put it on steam. i keep hearing numbers throw around like 90% of sells come from steam and 10% from itch io for devs that sell (commercial projects) on both. you still need following etc to promote the wishlists since that is what boosts your game after the initial release on steam or something like that?
if you have a free game put it on itch io. its free just do it might as well. being shy and insecure about what you make is fine but keep in mind that people arent after some perfect flawless projects and making those is impossible
just make what you can and share it, the right people just need to find them
still itchio is nice that its free but the userbase is also 50% people on their mobile searching for strictly free android games to jerk off or horror game with red background because popular streamer #453425 played it. the site culture is different from steamw which some people treat as if games don't count as real unless they're on steam.
from my perspective paying $100 to put a game on steam is 'cheap'. even if you just consider it an ad fee for however much traffic steam algorithm blesses you with, its kind of a good deal if you think about the unhinged amounts you'd have to pay on twitter or facebook or whatever the hell people use to actually promote the game to same amount of eyes.. if you're doing free games its less of a incentive but if you're trying to do business and make money for rent 100(and whatever fees steam and taxes will eat from your earnings) is a very low price of doing business. i see people complain about steam cuts and steam fees but as someone who used to be an online sexworker there was literally popular sites AND STILL ARE that take like 50% cut directly so steam isn't bad when compared to that (also steam gives you the 100 back after you make 1000, which i reasonable believe i could reach if i put a paid game on steam)
also did you know you can set itch ios marketplace cut to 0% if you want with no repercussions. you can do that if you want. do it.
i think if you have rent to pay you should get into the habit of asking for something. artists love supporting other artists and outside of that the people who have money will gladly support someone whose work they like. there's really no concrete numbers to give for pricing projects. just ask anything. tho know that asking for 1 dollar is pretty much the same as asking for like 5 tho. if people are ready to pay they generally don't care if its in that range so i think everyone's happy if its 5 when payment processors get to swipe a smaller percentage of the fees from the transaction
maybe something like just ask for something nad once you make more projects keep rising it. its better to have an empty patreon with 0 subscribers than no patreon at all. my games used to be 0€ to download and 6.66€ pay what you want and people kept paying that. then i raised the suggestion to 15€ just to try it out and i was surprised to see the amount of donations didn't go down. bonus artbooks are a good incentive. its nice to share something special for those who want to donate and its nice for them to get something out of it since a huge portion of these people might have just given that same donation money expecting nothin in return
its taken a few months but malmaid has now made like 800 dollars on itch io which is like wow holy shit but it kinda stops being as exciting when i think about how it took me 6 months to make it and that would be like one month of rent. still ultimately the fact that its a free game and everyone just decided to donate anyway is kinda absurd and it makes me infinitely grateful
i do know that if i had priced it with a set price the amount would be a lot more (this is even more evident from my 4€ comic projects that i keep putting on sale constantly for even cheaper are still by far the most earning projects I've ever put on itchio) id argue people are more likely to take a project seriously and engage with it if it cost money. free games you can just dl and forget about it if you want.. but having a price next to the download button makes things seem more legitimate because money has worth
i also get pay-per-project patreon money. tho patreon hates that mode and will be deleting in like a year or so instead of having stupid monthly payments. idk what ill do then i might delete patreon at that point will see
but on the matter of if these numbers really are a useful metric to share is debatable. hopeless junction made like $1000(ignoring the vncup 2 award) since i released it year ago and this and malmaid are two of my most popular games like that. i think i made 300-400 during the first few release months back then. I've been posting stuff on itch io for FREE for a decade soon and its an accumulation of all my visibility from over the years. itch io also favorites nsfw games with their tag traffic so its an environment that works for me
if i had started asking for money and packaging my things in a more commercial form i would be making a lot more with it i think and the people who followed me would already be accustomed to that. its just that for now ive valued people being able to play my things for free and my situation has allowed for it
everyone hates marketing but ultimately its about making the thing you made look good and be seen by others. a nice custom theme on an itch io page is more likely to get someone to stay than a game with blank profile no screenshots.
its important to make the thing you made look presentable and that's just finding your own voice by looking at how others do these things
the coolest story in the world isnt gonna sell if it doesn't have a nice cover if nobody knows that story exists.. but if people like the story they're more likely to stick around for future stuff and spread the word.. i think that matters more than what amount of money is being asked for a game as there are popular cheap games just as there are popular expensive games
idk. if theres more specific questsions ask again its a very broad thing

Some Thoughts on the Reddit Blackout
Like many new arrivals on Tumblr these days, I used to be a Redditor until recent developments encouraged me to take my business elsewhere, and I have been following the development of the story as thoroughly as I can without actually giving Reddit any more traffic. With the most recent development of the Reddit admin corps taking on a suite of strategies lifted straight from the depression-era railroad baron playbook, I figured the time has come to talk a little about the wider implications of this whole story.
The Tech sector is, to the best of my understanding, in a vulnerable place right now. After the Web 2.0 gold rush and years of consolidation and growth from the biggest actors, your Alphabets, Twitters, Metas, and so on, many of the larger sites and services are reaching the largest size they can expect to grow to. How, for instance, could Facebook or Twitter grow much more now that everyone and their mother is on Facebook and Twitter? Prior to the Musk buyout, Twitter seemingly settled on upping engagement, making sure people were on Twitter longer and invested more energy and emotion in the platform, usually by making damn sure the discourse zapping through that hellhole was as polarizing and hostile as possible. Meta, meanwhile, has been making bank on user data as advertisers, AI folks, and any number of other actors salivate over getting their hands on the self-updating contact and interest registry that is Facebook.
With the rise of what we apparently have decided to call AI, data is now more valuable than ever. I consider this to be yet another Tech Hype Bubble on the level of NFTs or Metaverses, but, like with the two above, I can imagine it's hard to explain that when you are a Tech CEO and your shareholders ask you "Hey, how do you plan on earning us money off of this AI/NFT/Metaverse thing?" This is not to say CEO Steve Huffman isn't handling this whole thing with the grace of a three-legged hippo, but merely to suggest that his less-than-laudable decisions and actions in this mess don't arise from his character alone but also is a result of wider systemic issues.
One of these issues is the complicated role user data plays in modern websites and -services. Since its inception as a publicly accessible space, the question of how to monetize the Internet has been a tricky one for site and service owners. Selling ad space on your website or service has long been the go-to, but this in itself presents its own issues, having to curate content that is considered ad-friendly, malicious or careless actors making using said service or website less attractive for customers, and finally how to convince your advertisers that they get what they pay for in the first place, ie. "how do I know people even look at our ads?" All of this is before you even stop to consider how ads massively favor large, established actors.
It's no small wonder, then, that several startups in the era of internet mass adoption chose to forgo ads, or at least massively deprioritize them and/or relaunch them as "promoted posts," in an attempt to escape the stigma around ads. Meta/Facebook is probably the biggest fish in this particular pond, but we also see other services such as Twitter and Reddit follow the same pattern.
What makes this work is that the data these platforms collect from their users isn't all that valuable on a person-to-person basis, knowing that so-and-so is 32 years old, lives in a traditionally conservative part of the city, goes to Starbucks a lot, and listens to Radiohead isn't particularly useful information for anyone but a dedicated but lazy stalker; When viewed as an aggregate, however, large collections of data on a large population becomes quite valuable. This is especially true if you're working with, say, targeted ads or political campaigns. Look no further than the Cambridge Analytica data scandal for an example.
Now, all this is to illustrate the strange position the user occupies in Web 2.0. We tend to think of ourselves as the customer of Facebook, Reddit, Tumblr, and so on, but it isn't the case. After all, we don't pay for these services, and if we do it's to buy freedom from ads or other minor service modifications. It is more correct to say that we make up the product itself. This is true in two respects, first, an active social community is vital for social media to not be entirely pointless, and second, we generate the data that the platform holder seeks to monetize. This hybrid product/participant role doesn't map cleanly to traditional understandings of "worker," but I argue it is a closer fit than "customer."
All of this is to say that it is immensely gratifying to see the Reddit Blackout taking the shape of a strike rather than the more typical boycott model we've seen in the internet-based protests of yesteryear. Much of this, I think, we can thank the participating Reddit moderators. While the regular platform user can be *argued* to be a worker, the moderator inarguably is one, and the fact that they aren't paid for their efforts is more a credit to the prosocial nature of humans than to the corporate acumen of the platform holders. Either way, moderating a subreddit is work, if the subreddit is large, it's quite a lot of work, and moderators keeping malicious actors, scammers, and hatemongers out of everyone's hair is a must for any decently sized social space to not be an objectively terrible experience. So, if you were to, for example, withhold your labor (moderating for free) which you as a worker can do, it would be plain irresponsible to leave the place open for said bad apples to ruin everyone's bunches, thus the shutdowns.
I don't think it's a controversial take to claim that the Reddit admins also view this more as a strike than a boycott, given their use of scabs, intimidation, and other strikebreaking tactics in an attempt to break the thing up. This is nothing new, and the fact that Reddit admins are willing to stoop to these scumbag tactics tells us that their bluster about the shutdown not affecting their bottom line is nothing more than shareholder-placating hot air.
As this entire screed has perhaps demonstrated, I believe the Reddit Blackout is important. My stay at Tumblr so far has been excellent and will probably continue past this strike no matter what outcome it has, but for others in my situation, or perhaps entirely alien to the Reddit biome, I ask you to consider: If we do not stop this level of consumer and user-unfriendly bullshit Reddit have been pulling on the API change, where will it pop up next? Who's to say the next bright idea in corpo-hell isn't "Hey boss, how about we charge these nerd losers a dollar per reblog? And maybe a fiver for a Golden Reblog (TM)?"
This is perhaps getting into grandstanding, but I believe we are way past due for a renegotiation of what it means to be a platform holder and -user on this hot mess of an internet. If we as users do not take an active, strong stance on the matter, the Steve Huffmans, Elon Musks, and Mark Zuckerbergs of the world will decide without us. One does not have to be a fortune teller to see that the digital world this would create would not have our best interests in mind any more than the current one does.
So, in closing, I wish to extend my wholehearted support to the participating Moderators of Reddit and everyone who has decided to take their business elsewhere for the duration of the shutdown. Even without getting into the nitty-gritty of the API situation, this is a fight worth having, and may we through it make a world that's just a little bit less shitty.
Become Ungovernable
Become Unprofitable
Stay that way.

what is digital marketing ?
Digital marketing refers to the use of digital channels, platforms, and technologies to promote products, services, or brands to a target audience. Unlike traditional marketing methods that rely on offline channels such as print, television, or radio, digital marketing leverages online channels to reach and engage with consumers. The goal of digital marketing is to connect with the target audience in the right place and at the right time, driving brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention.
Key components of digital marketing include:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimizing a website or content to rank higher in search engine results, improving visibility and organic (non-paid) traffic.
Content Marketing: Creating and distributing valuable, relevant content to attract and engage a target audience. This can include blog posts, videos, infographics, and more.
Social Media Marketing: Utilizing social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) to promote products or services, interact with the audience, and build brand awareness.
Email Marketing: Sending targeted messages and promotional content to a group of people via email to nurture leads, build customer relationships, and encourage conversions.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising: Running paid advertisements on search engines or social media platforms, with advertisers paying a fee each time their ad is clicked.
Affiliate Marketing: Partnering with other businesses or individuals to promote products or services, with commissions earned for every sale or lead generated through the affiliate's efforts.
Influencer Marketing: Collaborating with influencers or individuals with a significant following to promote products or services to their audience.
Online Public Relations (PR): Managing a brand's online reputation and relationships with the public through various digital channels.
Analytics and Data Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing data from digital marketing efforts to measure performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions for future campaigns.
Digital marketing provides businesses with the flexibility to target specific demographics, track and measure campaign performance, and adjust strategies in real-time. It has become an integral part of the overall marketing strategy for many organizations in today's digital age.

How did you advertise your VNs? Trying to advertise a horror one of my own but I’m really struggling with marketing and any advice would be really appreciated 💜
The easiest way to grow an audience is to already have an audience. This sounds cheeky and unhelpful, but before I get into any details, I think it's important to acknowledge that Abby already had a sizable following before we started working on Scarlet Hollow, and Scarlet Hollow's success meant that we had an even larger following by the time we started promoting Slay the Princess. So please take whatever I say in the rest of this post with a grain of salt. I'm also going to write this post assuming that whoever is reading it has very little understanding of digital marketing, so it might explain some concepts you're already familiar with.
If you want a bird's eye view of VN promotion once you already have a base to work from, I did a pretty lengthy write-up about Slay the Princess' announcement and demo launch which you can find here: https://blacktabbygames.medium.com/how-slay-the-princess-earned-25-000-wishlists-in-two-weeks-3c69304312bc
Assuming you're starting from nothing, though, congratulations! We live in a world of algorithms that, for better or for worse, actively promote content that people find engaging.
The most powerful of these algorithms for a game developer will be Steam, which controls something like 90% of the PC market, and which has a vested interest in using that clout to make itself more money.
The way it works is this: if you go onto Steam, like any other storefront, you'll see a lot of buttons and widgets promoting various games. We'll call these capsules "impressions."
Tumblr media
Different slots are essentially "worth" different amounts to Steam, with those front page impressions on the above image pretty much the most valuable slots on the platform. Steam has only so many impressions it can fill each day, essentially limited by the number of times individual users access different parts of the store. And filling these slots is how the algorithm comes into play.
The Steam algorithm is a bit of a black box, and has all sorts of components like personalized recommendations, but at the end of the day, Steam is going to try and make as much money as possible every time it generates an impression. So at its bottom line, there's two metrics that outweigh everything else:
Money generated per impression given — once your game is out, if an impression is more likely than other titles to generate a sale, Steam will be more likely to give you that impression. Raw dollars are what matters here, so a $60 game being sold every 10,000 impressions is going to be given precedence over a $30 game being sold every 6,000 impressions.
Barring the above, projected money generated per impression given. So, if, say, 1% of people click on a capsule and visit your store page, and 20% of them wishlist your game, and 20% of wishlists convert for the average game, Steam can take a guess at how much an impression will be worth.
All of this is to say that if you make it so that your Steam page, game title, and capsule images are interesting and capture people's attention, you'll in turn be given more opportunities for your game to be displayed on Steam. If you want to know how your game stands compared to other titles, Chris Zukowski from HowToMarketAGame has a great breakdown of all sorts of benchmarks here: https://howtomarketagame.com/benchmarks/
I can't stress enough how much Steam drives our traffic — it's probably directly responsible for over 75% of our wishlists and sales.
If your benchmarks are falling short, try changing up your page. New capsules, new marketing copy, new screenshots. Generally speaking, if your page is compelling you should be able to get ~20-30 wishlists per day organically.
You can also use your page to drive players to other platforms — Twitter, tumblr, reddit, discord, you name it.
Within Steam, there's a number of opportunities to get extra exposure as well via festivals and events. Doing a demo as part of Steam Next Fest is a great way to get thousands of extra eyes on your game, and demos in general can be a great way to generate interest and build your community.
The blog post I shared earlier talks a lot about the value of demos, and the ways you can structure them to guide interested players towards your community.
Outside of Steam, a lot of it comes down to figuring out what platform works best for your content. In terms of public platforms, Twitter is pretty much the best for us, followed by Tumblr. Some folks might have better luck with Instagram, though, and if you have the stomach for video, TikTok can be a great way to quickly build an audience from nothing. There are a few communities on reddit that are okay with self-promotion as well: /r/games hosts "indie sunday" every sunday, where devs are allowed to post about their titles once a month.
There are also key accounts on a lot of platforms that mostly work to curate games within certain genres — horrorvisuals is a great one on Twitter (and I think he's on Tumblr too) — and accounts like that often host regular posts/tags for people to share their work.
Beyond that, if you have a budget, you can do paid ads on social media platforms, though those can be hard to make profitable — you can also reach out to streamers and press, though those can also be difficult connections to make.
itch.io is also a great platform to host an indie game and get an initial round of feedback, though its userbase is a fraction of Steam's. Great testing ground though, and there's a lot of variety/horror streamers and youtubers who look for new titles there!

Story Time - A British Grand Prix 🇬🇧
Settle yourself in, this is a fan experience of how F1 used to be (pre-Twitter) and is a bit of a novel.
My brother and I went to the 2012 British Grand Prix. Other than a girl I went to school with we knew no one else who had been, so obviously a lot of people grilled us for information, was it good, can you see much, is it worth it, what’s the traffic like.
My brother’s boss decided that’s it, he was going next year by himself. Now my brother’s boss was very much the bachelor. Earning a six figure sum, never married, no kids, not even a pet, owned his own house. He was never short of money. His one luxury was a two week trip to Australia every year to go diving.
So where as we had sat in Woodcote (still an expensive ticket), he of course bought himself a pit lane ticket. Spent quali day overlooking the garages.
So Sunday he gets to the track and raids the merch and I’m not over exaggerating here, he bought merch for every team on the grid and some Motor GP stuff. He ended up buying a Valentino Rossi sports bag to carry it all in.
So he gets to his “seat” and realises, he can see the pit lane, the finish line and that is about it. There isn’t even a big screen. He looks over in the International Pit Straight (now the Hamilton Straight) Grandstand and there are empty seats (yes really!). So he asks a security guard can he go sit there, after all it’s technically a downgrade. They say yes and he and his bag of swag go and find a seat.
He sits down and after 10 minutes realises the guy next to him is on his own and they get talking. Turns out this guy had had an awful year in 2012, his girlfriend had a miscarriage which lead to them splitting up, he had lost his job and his Dad had be diagnosed with the early stages of cancer, but his family had bought him a one day ticket to see the Grand Prix to give him something to look forward to, as he had always wanted to go. However obviously money was still tight as he was not back in work yet, so he had come in on the bus and hadn’t really looked around as he couldn’t afford anything.
My brother’s boss, opens up the swag bag and asks this guy who his driver is, who he supports. Turns out he’s a Ferrari fan so a Ferrari cap is produced out the treasure trove and he hands it to this guy he has known 20 minutes.
They watch the race and Alonso driving for Ferrari ends up in 3rd. Podium over and done with this guy tries to hand back the cap to which the boss says “absolutely not, you can’t come all this way, see your driver on the podium and not have something to remember the day by”.
As they are walking out of the complex, this guy bumps into someone he knows from work, usual pleasantries, “didn’t know you were coming”, “where we you sat?”, “where you parked?” The guy sheepishly says he is on the bus. The work colleague says the hell you are, we’ll take you home.
As he’s about to leave the guy says thank you again and the boss suddenly says, “who’s your Dad’s favourite driver?” “Räikkönen”, so yeap you guessed it, back in the swag bag and produces a Lotus cap to give to his Dad.
Once he was back in North Wales, he continued to share the wealth. There was a McLaren team shirt for my brother (back when McLaren wore real shirts). A Jenson mug for me, which sadly is long ago broken. A kids Ferrari jacket for his goddaughter, a Rossi cap for someone else in his team and a Red Bull cap for one of the cleaning staff. God knows what else he bought, my brother mentioned seeing him wearing a Williams t shirt a few times and mention of some Webber and Danny Ric merch to take over to his buddies in Oz later in the year.
I know F1 Twitter has made F1 fans seem like a dumpster fire at times and certain driver’s (I do mean plural here) fans can take things too far, but at the heart of it, we are genuinely nice and enthusiastic people, who all enjoy the same thing.
Or in the case of Fernando Alonso at the 2012 British Grand Prix, we all celebrate the downfall of the bad guy (the entire track erupted when Mark Webber overtook him on the last lap to win the race).

I. Understanding the Basics
What is Social Media Marketing?
Social Media Marketing involves the use of social platforms to connect with the audience, build brand awareness, and drive website traffic. It encompasses various activities, including posting text and image updates, videos, and other content that engages the audience.
Key Platforms Overview
Navigating the digital world begins with selecting the right platforms to showcase your prowess. Each platform, be it Instagram’s visual allure or Twitter’s concise conversations, offers unique opportunities. Tailor your choice to your content style, target audience, and the platform’s inherent strengths to create an impactful online prese.
Identifying Your Niche
Selecting the right niche is paramount to the success of your social media marketing efforts. Conduct thorough market research to identify profitable niches with a substantial audience. Understanding your target market is the first step towards crafting a successful strategy.
Setting the Stage
Setting the stage in social media marketing involves creating an immersive online presence. It’s about curating a profile that not only reflects your personality but also resonates with your target audience. Choose a profile picture that speaks volumes, craft a compelling bio, and strategically showcase your expertise, laying the foundation for a magnetic online persona.
The Promise of $50 Per Day
The promise of $50 per day beckons as a tangible and achievable goal in the world of social media marketing. It signifies not just a financial milestone, but a testament to the power of strategic online presence. This modest yet significant daily income is a precursor to unlocking greater financial opportunities, turning your social media platforms into a consistent source of revenue.
II. The Foundation: Building Your Presence
Selecting the Right Platforms
Choosing the right platform is like picking the perfect stage for your performance. Each social media platform has its unique audience, vibe, and content preferences. Consider your niche, target audience, and the type of content you enjoy creating when making this crucial decision.
Crafting a Compelling Profile
Your social media profile is your digital business card. Optimize it with a captivating bio, a profile picture that speaks volumes, and a link to your website or product. Think of it as the storefront window — enticing enough to make visitors want to explore further.
Establishing Consistent Branding
Consistency is the key to recognition. From your profile picture to your content style, maintaining a cohesive brand identity builds trust and loyalty. A recognizable brand makes it easier for your audience to connect with you amidst the sea of online content.
Leveraging Visual Content
Humans are visual creatures. Embrace the power of imagery and videos to tell your story. Invest time in creating eye-catching visuals that align with your brand. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words, and in the realm of social media, it could be worth $50.

III. Strategy Deep Dive: Content Creation
Identifying Your Niche
Success on social media begins with finding your niche. Dive deep into your interests and expertise. Identify what sets you apart and tailor your content to meet the needs of a specific audience. Specialization is the key to standing out in the crowded digital space.
Crafting Shareable Content
The currency of social media is shares. Craft content that resonates with your audience and prompts them to hit the share button. Whether it’s an insightful blog post, an entertaining video, or a captivating image, shareability is the fuel that propels your content across the vast social landscape.
The Power of Visual Storytelling
Beyond aesthetics, storytelling adds depth to your content. Narrate your journey, share behind-the-scenes moments, and connect with your audience on a personal level. Social media users don’t just want content; they crave experiences. Use visual storytelling to create an emotional connection that transcends the screen.
Utilizing Trends and Hashtags
Stay relevant by riding the waves of trends and harnessing the power of hashtags. Trends provide a snapshot of what’s capturing the audience’s attention, while strategic hashtag use increases the discoverability of your content. Mastering this balance catapults your content into the spotlight.
IV. Engaging Your Audience
Building Authentic Connections
Social media is not a one-way street. Engage with your audience authentically. Respond to comments, ask questions, and create a sense of community. Authenticity builds trust, and trust is the foundation of a loyal audience.
Responding to Comments and Messages
Your audience’s comments and messages are valuable interactions. Respond promptly and thoughtfully. This not only fosters a positive community but also signals to algorithms that your content is generating meaningful engagement.
Hosting Contests and Giveaways
Who doesn’t love freebies? Hosting contests and giveaways not only excites your existing audience but also attracts new followers. Make participation easy, and watch as your social media presence receives a surge of attention.
Going Live for Real-Time Interaction
Step into the spotlight by going live. Live sessions create a sense of urgency and real-time connection. Use this platform to answer questions, share updates, or simply chat with your audience. Live interactions humanize your brand, making it more relatable.
V. Monetizing Your Presence
Understanding Social Media Algorithms
Cracking the code of social media algorithms is akin to having a backstage pass to a concert. Understand the nuances of each platform’s algorithm to ensure your content reaches the right audience at the right time.
Exploring Affiliate Marketing
Dip your toes into the world of affiliate marketing. Promote products or services you genuinely believe in, and earn a commission for every sale generated through your unique affiliate link. It’s a win-win situation for both you and your audience.
Launching Your Own Products or Services
Take control of your revenue stream by launching your products or services. Whether it’s an e-book, online course, or merchandise, your engaged social media audience becomes your customer base.
Collaborating with Brands for Sponsorship
As your influence grows, brands will seek collaborations. Choose partnerships that align with your values and resonate with your audience. Sponsored posts and partnerships not only monetize your efforts but also enhance your credibility.
VI. Analyzing Metrics for Optimization
Tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Numbers tell a story. Track key performance indicators such as engagement rates, reach, and conversion rates. These metrics unveil patterns, helping you refine your strategies for maximum impact.
Utilizing Analytics Tools
Empower your decision-making with analytics tools. Platforms offer insights into audience demographics, peak activity times, and content performance. Leverage this data to tailor your content and posting schedule.
Adjusting Strategies Based on Insights
Adaptability is your secret weapon. Analyze insights regularly and adjust your strategies accordingly. If a certain type of content performs exceptionally well, amplify it. Stay dynamic to stay relevant.

Digital Marketing Course
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, there are several institutions and platforms that offer digital marketing courses in Bangladesh. However, it's important to note that the availability of courses and institutions may have changed since then. Here are a few options you could explore:
Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID): BIID offers various digital marketing courses and workshops aimed at professionals, entrepreneurs, and students. They cover topics like social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, and more.
DigiTech School: DigiTech School provides comprehensive digital marketing training with courses on SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, Google Ads, and more.
Dhaka School of Digital Marketing: This institution offers courses on digital marketing, social media marketing, content creation, and e-commerce.
Online Platforms: You can also consider online platforms like Udemy, Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and Skillshare. These platforms offer a wide range of digital marketing courses from international instructors.
Local Universities and Training Centers: Some universities and training centers in Bangladesh may also offer digital marketing courses as part of their business or technology-related programs.
Before enrolling in any course, I recommend doing thorough research to ensure that the course content is up-to-date, the instructors are qualified, and the institution has a good reputation. It's also a good idea to read reviews or get recommendations from individuals who have taken the course before.
Please note that the information provided here is based on the situation up to September 2021, and there may have been developments or changes since then. Be sure to verify the current availability of courses and institutions before making any decisions.

What is Digital Marketing?
Digital marketing refers to the practice of promoting products, services, or brands using digital channels and technologies. It encompasses a wide range of online strategies and tactics to reach and engage with a target audience. Unlike traditional marketing, which relies on offline methods such as print ads, billboards, and television commercials, digital marketing leverages the power of the internet and electronic devices.
Digital marketing includes various components and techniques, some of which are:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): This involves optimizing your website and online content to improve its visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). The goal is to attract organic (non-paid) traffic to your website by ranking higher in search engines like Google.
Social Media Marketing: Utilizing social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to connect with and engage your target audience. This can involve creating and sharing content, running ads, and interacting with users.
Content Marketing: Creating and sharing valuable and relevant content (such as blog posts, videos, infographics, etc.) to attract and retain a specific audience. The aim is to establish authority, build relationships, and eventually drive customer action.
Email Marketing: Sending targeted emails to a list of subscribers to promote products, provide updates, and nurture leads. Email marketing can be used to build customer loyalty and drive conversions.
Pay-Per-Click Advertising (PPC): Running paid advertisements on platforms like Google Ads or social media networks. Advertisers pay a fee each time their ad is clicked, helping drive immediate traffic to their websites.
Affiliate Marketing: Collaborating with other businesses or individuals (affiliates) who promote your products or services and earn a commission for each sale or action generated through their marketing efforts.
Influencer Marketing: Partnering with social media influencers or individuals with a significant online following to promote your products or services to their audience.
Online Public Relations (PR): Managing your online reputation and interacting with digital media and communities to maintain a positive brand image.
Analytics and Data Analysis: Using tools to gather and analyze data on consumer behavior and marketing performance. This data helps refine strategies and make informed decisions.
Mobile Marketing: Tailoring marketing efforts specifically for mobile devices, including mobile-friendly websites, apps, and SMS marketing.
Digital marketing offers the advantages of precise targeting, measurable results, real-time engagement, and the ability to adapt campaigns quickly. It has become a crucial aspect of modern business and is continuously evolving as technology and consumer behavior change.

How did You Learn Digital Marketing?
I, as an AI language model, was not specifically "taught" a digital marketing course in the traditional sense. My knowledge and information come from the vast amount of text and data that I was trained on, which includes a wide range of topics, including digital marketing.
I was trained on diverse sources from the internet, including websites, books, articles, and other text documents that cover various aspects of digital marketing. This training allowed me to learn about concepts, strategies, tools, and practices related to digital marketing, just as I learned about many other subjects.
It's important to note that my knowledge is based on information available up until September 2021, and I don't have personal experiences or the ability to actively engage in learning like a human would. My responses are generated based on patterns in the data I was trained on, and I aim to provide accurate and helpful information based on that training.

What are the top 7 types of digital marketing?
Tumblr media
In today’s digital age, businesses must adapt to the ever-changing online landscape to stay competitive. Digital marketing provides businesses with the tools to reach their target audience, boost brand visibility, and drive conversions. But with so many types of digital marketing strategies available, it can be challenging to know where to start. In this blog, we’ll discuss the top 7 types of digital marketing and how they can help your business grow.
1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO is the process of optimizing your website to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). By improving factors such as website content, keyword usage, and technical aspects, SEO increases organic (non-paid) traffic to your website. It’s a long-term strategy that focuses on boosting visibility, building authority, and enhancing user experience.
Why it’s important: A strong SEO strategy ensures that your website appears on the first page of search results when potential customers search for your products or services. With most online experiences beginning with a search engine, SEO is crucial for attracting qualified leads.
2. Content Marketing
Content marketing involves creating and distributing valuable content to attract, engage, and retain an audience. This content can be in the form of blogs, videos, podcasts, infographics, or eBooks. Content marketing aims to build relationships with your audience by providing useful and relevant information.
Why it’s important: Quality content helps you build brand authority, increase website traffic, and drive conversions. By offering helpful resources, you can nurture trust with potential customers, ultimately encouraging them to make a purchase.
3. Social Media Marketing
Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok to promote your brand, engage with customers, and grow your audience. Through organic posts, paid ads, and influencer partnerships, social media marketing allows businesses to interact directly with their audience.
Why it’s important: Social media marketing helps build brand awareness, foster customer relationships, and drive traffic to your website. It’s a great platform for engaging with your audience in real-time and generating direct feedback.
4. Email Marketing
Email marketing involves sending targeted and personalized emails to your subscribers to inform, engage, and encourage them to take action. This includes newsletters, promotional emails, and transactional emails. The key to successful email marketing is segmentation—dividing your audience into smaller, more specific groups to deliver the most relevant content.
Why it’s important: Email marketing is one of the most cost-effective ways to reach your audience directly. With a high ROI, it allows businesses to nurture leads, convert prospects into customers, and maintain relationships with existing customers.
5. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising
PPC advertising is a form of paid digital marketing where advertisers pay each time a user clicks on their ad. Platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Instagram Ads allow businesses to target specific audiences based on keywords, interests, and behaviors. PPC can be highly effective for driving targeted traffic to your website.
Why it’s important: With PPC, businesses can appear at the top of search results instantly, reaching a larger audience. The key advantage of PPC is its ability to deliver immediate results and track performance in real-time.
6. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing involves partnering with affiliates (influencers, bloggers, or other businesses) to promote your products or services. Affiliates earn a commission for each sale or lead they generate through their promotional efforts. This type of marketing relies heavily on partnerships and trust.
Why it’s important: Affiliate marketing helps extend your reach and drives sales through trusted third-party promoters. It's performance-based, meaning you only pay for results, making it a low-risk strategy.
7. Influencer Marketing
Influencer marketing is a strategy that involves collaborating with individuals who have a large and engaged following on social media or other digital platforms. Influencers promote your products or services to their audience, creating a sense of trust and authenticity around your brand.
Why it’s important: Influencer marketing can be incredibly effective because it leverages the trust influencers have built with their followers. It allows businesses to tap into new audiences and boost credibility through social proof.
Conclusion
Digital marketing is an essential part of any business strategy. Whether you’re focusing on SEO, content marketing, social media, email campaigns, or paid advertising, each of these seven types of digital marketing plays a critical role in helping you grow your online presence and achieve your business goals.
If you’re looking to enhance your digital marketing efforts and see measurable results, consider partnering with a professional digital marketing agency in Tamil Nadu. Whether it's improving your SEO, crafting engaging content, or running successful social media campaigns, an experienced agency can help you develop strategies tailored to your business needs.

Using Infographics to Boost Your SEO Efforts
Infographics are an engaging and highly effective way to present information in a visually appealing format. When used correctly, they can be a powerful tool to enhance your SEO strategy. If you’re looking to elevate your website's performance and online visibility, incorporating infographics into your content can lead to improved user engagement, higher rankings, and more backlinks. In this blog, we’ll explore how you can use infographics to boost your SEO Singapore efforts and create valuable content that resonates with your audience.
Why Infographics Matter for SEO
Infographics offer a unique combination of visual appeal and valuable information, making them perfect for attracting user attention and boosting engagement. They break down complex topics into easy-to-understand visuals, improving the user experience on your site. This is crucial for SEO, as search engines reward websites that provide clear, informative, and engaging content.
Key reasons infographics enhance SEO:
Improved User Engagement: People are more likely to interact with and share infographics, increasing dwell time and reducing bounce rates.
Shareability: Infographics are highly shareable on social media platforms, which can increase traffic to your site.
Increased Backlinks: High-quality infographics often earn backlinks from other websites, which is a key ranking factor for SEO.
Create High-Quality Infographics
To get the most out of infographics, they need to be well-designed and packed with valuable content. When creating infographics, focus on clarity, accuracy, and relevance. Infographics should be visually appealing, easy to read, and contain actionable insights. Make sure the information you present is useful to your target audience, as this will increase the likelihood of shares and backlinks.
Tips for creating effective infographics:
Keep it Simple: Avoid overwhelming your audience with too much information. Focus on a single, clear message.
Use Engaging Visuals: Incorporate eye-catching elements like icons, colors, and illustrations to make your infographic stand out.
Optimize for Readability: Ensure the text is legible, and the flow of information is easy to follow.
Optimize Infographics for SEO
Once you’ve created your infographic, it’s essential to optimize it for SEO to ensure it contributes to your site's ranking efforts. SEO optimization of infographics involves several steps, such as using relevant keywords, alt text, and proper file names.
Infographic optimization tips:
Use Descriptive File Names: Name your infographic file with relevant keywords, like “seo-singapore-infographic.jpg.”
Add Alt Text: Include a brief, keyword-rich description of your infographic in the image’s alt text to make it accessible to search engines.
Embed Infographics on Relevant Pages: Place your infographics on relevant landing pages and blog posts to enhance the content’s relevance to search queries.
Mobile Optimization: Ensure your infographics are mobile-friendly, as Google prioritizes mobile-first indexing.
Promote Your Infographics for Backlinks
One of the primary benefits of infographics is their ability to attract backlinks. When other websites or bloggers use your infographic as a source of information, they often link back to your site. This is a powerful SEO tactic because backlinks are one of the top ranking factors for search engines. To maximize this benefit, make sure your infographics are shareable and easy to embed.
Here’s how to promote your infographics:
Submit to Infographic Directories: There are many infographic submission websites where you can submit your visuals for others to discover and share.
Pitch to Bloggers and Influencers: Reach out to industry influencers or bloggers and ask them to share your infographic. This can result in quality backlinks.
Share on Social Media: Share your infographic on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to increase its visibility and potential for backlinks.
Infographics and SEO Singapore Strategy
In a competitive market like SEO Singapore, using infographics can help your business stand out. Singapore-based businesses can use infographics to highlight local trends, showcase industry data, or provide insights on SEO best practices in the region. When targeting a specific location, local SEO optimization is essential to make your infographic visible to users searching for location-based terms.
To integrate infographics into your SEO Singapore strategy:
Focus on Local Relevance: Incorporate local data, case studies, or trends specific to Singapore to resonate with your audience.
Use Local Keywords: Ensure your infographic titles and descriptions include relevant local keywords for better targeting in search results.
Measure the Impact of Infographics on SEO
To understand the effectiveness of your infographics, track their performance using tools like Google Analytics. Monitor metrics such as traffic, backlinks, and social shares to see how well your infographics are contributing to your SEO efforts. This will allow you to refine your strategy and make data-driven decisions for future content creation.
Key metrics to track:
Referral Traffic: Monitor how much traffic your infographics bring in from external websites and social media platforms.
Backlink Acquisition: Track how many websites link to your infographic, as these backlinks will directly impact your SEO rankings.
Social Shares: Analyze how often your infographic is shared on social media to gauge its popularity and reach.
Conclusion
In conclusion, infographics are a powerful tool to boost your SEO efforts by increasing engagement, improving shareability, and generating backlinks. When used correctly, they can drive traffic to your site, enhance user experience, and contribute to higher rankings on search engines. By optimizing your infographics with relevant keywords and promoting them effectively, you can make them a key component of your SEO Singapore strategy. With the right approach, infographics can elevate your content marketing and SEO efforts, helping you achieve long-term success.

Digital marketing enables businesses to reach a global audience, track their marketing efforts in real-time, and adjust strategies based on performance. Moreover, it is often more cost-effective than traditional marketing methods, offering a direct way to engage with customers. Every brand communicates about its products or services to raise awareness and generate interest. When businesses use the internet as the primary channel to promote and market their offerings, this approach is known as digital marketing.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): This involves optimizing website content to enhance visibility in search engine results. Consequently, it becomes easier for potential customers to discover a business online.
Content Marketing: Businesses attract and engage their target audiences by creating and distributing valuable, relevant content. Consequently, this approach drives profitable customer actions.
Social Media Marketing: Social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, allow businesses to connect with audiences, build brand awareness, and promote products or services. Moreover, social media campaigns encourage interaction and engagement, fostering deeper connections with users.
Ads: Digital marketing efforts, such as ads on gaming platforms or YouTube videos, directly communicate brand messages to users. Therefore, these advertisements help raise awareness about products or services.
Display Advertising: Businesses create 10–20 second videos, GIFs, or banner ads to showcase their products. As a result, these visually engaging ads effectively capture user attention.
Blogging Ads: Product ads appear on blogs that relate to the blog's content or align with the user's browsing interests. By leveraging cache data from a user’s browser, businesses display relevant ads. Furthermore, promoting products or services through blogs—either free or paid—significantly boosts visibility. Additionally, keeping the content updated is vital for success.
Text Ads: When blogs or websites feature text-based ads or videos, they are referred to as text ads. These ads deliver concise and direct messaging, ensuring clarity for the target audience.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): SEO strategies aim to bring websites or blogs to the top of search engine result pages (SERPs). For instance, they effectively drive traffic to ecommerce websites. Currently, SEO encompasses two main types: on-page SEO and off-page SEO.
Email Marketing: Marketers use targeted emails to inform, engage, and convert subscribers into loyal customers. Furthermore, email marketing facilitates personalized communication, strengthening customer relationships.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising: Businesses run paid ads on search engines or social media platforms, paying only when users click on their ads. Consequently, PPC is a highly targeted method of reaching potential customers.
Affiliate Marketing: Businesses collaborate with affiliates to promote their products or services. Affiliates earn a commission for every sale they generate. Thus, this approach fosters mutually beneficial partnerships.
Influencer Marketing: Companies partner with influencers who have significant followings on social media or other platforms to promote their offerings. Consequently, this method builds trust and credibility among audiences.
