Took the Lawman Boss 429 engine to WesTech Performance Group in California a week or so ago with my good friend Brian Duffee. Brian’s shop, Duffee Motorsports, in Glendale Arizona had just completed a complete rebuild of the Lawman’s original 800 mile Boss 429 engine. Machinist Pat Deichert did a masterful job revitalizing the bottom end and Brian worked some magic on a pair of NOS Boss 429 heads to enable the motor to reach a rev limited peak HP of 854.1hp at 6600rpm and 704 lb/ft of torque at 5400rpm. At only 6600rpm and a max boost of 8.9lbs there’s way more in this motor. The curve just kept going up. No point pushing it further as it had already proved itself nicely.

edit: correction. 427 Chevy built with almost all NOS Chevy parts. 13:1CR Should be one snarling beast.... it's getting ready for a dyno trip soon.

Cougar is SOLD! Now to get my ‘37 in the shop for an engine/trans overhaul. Perfect timing as the desert SW summer is breathing down our necks already.

Yesterday Duffee finished up some LS heads while I buttoned up my transmission swap for my F250 (FMX to C6), and then we both headed out to meet Justin (http://www.dpcustomcycles.com) for lunch at “the ole standby” in New River, AZ.

Duffee's resurrecting a damaged Cosworth head. Head is welded up, and now a template of a good chamber is being cut to match head chamber size.
