This is actually very old drawings, but I didn't mark from when. Petrie is actually the only one that is newer.

Littlrfoot became a Pokémon god or something. Glad sfjck in a feme. I mean god stuck in a fence.

The hardest thing for me watching this movie is constantly losing track of what is happening. Like little foot and cera are fighting and then ducky gets flung and then no I mean petri gets flung and then is that that she the same shark tooth ;4@‘ the right and the fall into the bottomless cliff pit! Is he really dead after this? I was still stuck worried about that when we saw the Great Valeg so I couldn’t move on fast enough.

Maybe that’s why most orioles watch movies multiple times. To get something diffrrrbt each timeZ.

I love the parents in LBT; always freaking out whenever the kids wander off into the carnivore-infested wilderness, but by the 7th movie Ducky’s mother just comes out and says ‘well off course they did’.  Honestly I’d be more worried about the parents getting stuck out there than Littlefoot and the gang.

I just found out that the same VA for Avatar Yangchen also voiced Mama Flyer and Ducky's mom in pretty much every LBT sequel. I am never gonna shut up about it because it is now forever in my head.

If I were to choose my “favorite” LBT sequel, it’d be a toss-up between #3 (The Time of the Great Giving) and #8 (The Big Freeze).

On one hand, I agree with Raisorblade in that Time of the Great Giving is the closest to the spirit of the original Land Before Time film. It features similar themes of survival, prejudice and teamwork, and they draw some very interesting parallels between Hyp and Cera’s father (especially when Hyp tells the Gang of Five that bigger is stronger, tougher, and better). Speaking of Cera’s father, he was probably at his best and most relatable in Time of the Great Giving, and his moments with Cera actually feel very genuine in that movie.

Also, “When You’re Big” is a total bop. I don’t care what anyone says, that song genuinely slaps!

On the other hand, you’ve got The Big Freeze, which shows Spike as an actual character, with thoughts and emotions, for the first time in the franchise. And just like Cera’s relationship with her father in the 3rd movie, Spike’s sibling rivalry with Ducky in The Big Freeze is very believable and genuine. Plus, it touches on the value of foster families and how they can be just as important as biological families, AND I have to bring up Ducky’s mom here, because holy shit!

Of course, movies 2, 4, 5, and 10 all have their nice moments too, but to me, The Big Freeze and Time of the Great Giving are the most well put together films in the franchise (besides the first movie).

Out of all the Land Before Time sequels, I personally think 2 has held up the most over years. Not just for nostalgia (though that does play a huge factor) but also from the fact that the villains in the movie are voiced by Rob Paulsen and Jeff Bennett. Considering that this movie came out around the time Animaniacs was on, it doesn’t surprise me that those 2 have a Pinky and the Brain dynamic (Rob Paulsen’s character is basically Pinky down to a tee while Jeff Bennett’s character gives off the same energy that Maurice LaMarche does for Brain). Also their villain song is catchy as hell.

Petrie/Ducky - You make me Happy

I am not sure if I have posted this here yet, but after discovering the wonderful analysis of LBT, I just remembered my old P/D video and post it here just in case.

I have read some fanfictions about them, but I haven't found many videos with movie clips. Only about Littlefoot and Cera. So I made one myself.

Ducky and Petrie always make each other happy, no matter how hard life gets.

Story Time!

My first foray into fanfiction was with The Land Before Time, of all things, when I was just barely twelve.

It all started because I wanted to watch the seventh film, The Stone of Cold Fire. I didn't have the DVD at the time, so I thought I could find it on the internet. Hitherto before then I had used the internet maybe, twice? To play on the Polly Pocket website?

Anyway.

Typing in various searches and going to various sites eventually led me to FanFiction.Net and their...really weird Land Before Time fanfic archive. And I read them, too. On my mother's laptop (oh what must she have thought...)!

But like, Petrie was my favorite character. No joke. So I had to read everything with him. The reunion fics with his uncle, Pterano (which are technically what I'd wanted to find; I dug for those), the weird PetriexDucky stuff, and even the weirder PetriexOC (who's bright idea was it to pair a pterodactyl flyer and a human?).

I read it all.

My first fanfic was actually a five chapter story set after The Stone of Cold Fire about Petrie and his adventures with his OC cousin, Amber.

All in all, it's all very weird.

And nearly a decade later, I go back for nostalgia sake (and because I was marathoning Jurassic Park) and dang, what was little me thinking? This stuff is so weird!

But strangely addicting, so.
