I find your work eithic towards drawing really admirable! I've been following you for awhile and it seems like you draw daily (if I'm not mistaken)? Do you naturally have a passion towards drawing or did you have to build that into a habit? How often do you burn out, and do you have any tips for avoiding burn out? BTW love your work to bits and I wish you the best with your comics <3
Just a natural passion. I've been drawing every day since I was a little kid and then brought it with me into adulthood. I'm simply happy when I'm drawing.
I do have burnouts sometimes but most of them are linked to emotions. Being too overjoyed or upset or tired is enough to ruin my ability to think for a week or longer.
And I do have a few ways of avoiding my burn outs (i don't know if they work for everyone but perhaps you'll find some of them useful):
If you feel like you will be tired very soon - stop. You might still have ideas you want to draw but it's best to just write them down for now and take a break
Draw something you know you're good at. Something that's easy and enjoyable. I love redesigning and coloring so I usually draw MLP and try different colors and shapes on them. Don't be afraid to mess up
Stop creating and start consuming. Watch a movie or a TV show or read a book or play a game maybe go to a museum or an art gallery
And the most important tip: when you're on a break DON'T think about things you're working on. At all. Maybe you have a big drawing you need to finish or a comic or an animation or any other project no matter how big or small it is. Let your brain detach from it completely for some time it needs it.
I think that's all I have and thank you so much!!
