Dragon Ball Has Existed for 40 Years and It’s Got Me Thinking of Somethings That Can Happen to the Franchise. Particularly a Reboot of the Original DB, Not DBZ as that for the Best not Do That.
I’d Personally Love if They Ever Try a Reboot or the OG since Not Many Fans Know or Even Mention Much of the Beginnings of the Series and If Done Well can Introduce to Newer Generation.
They Can Also Do a Different Take on The Story from How Goku Meets Bulma to Where They Encounter a Shape Shifting Pig Olong and a Desert Bandit Theif Yamcha as Well As the Introduction to Roshi and Krillin. They Could Add More Too What May have been Left Out such as the Bonding Between the Turtle Hurrmit Students, Giving Sid Characters More Development and Backstories, Making Action More Intense plus Creating More Lore to Show that Fits the Vibe of DB.
Another thing if they Do This is to Fixs somethings That are a Bit Outdated Like Some Racist Depiction of Characters and a Bit of Sexual Tones mostly from Female Characters even making Fun of ones that aren’t to Beauty Standards.
These are just a few I Could think of Them Doing with It but Its up in air if were to Happen, Though You Never Know
OH AND TO SEE LUNCH AGAIN WOULD BE GREAT

Viz buying RWBY really is a no win situation. If they continue the series from where it is now, most people won't watch it because a majority of people who cared about the story genuinely left for good after Volume 9. Everything after Beacon Era (or Volume 4 if we want to try to be generous) just isn't profitable. RT even said so themselves that they were losing money on RWBY and their other projects despite RWBY being their cash cow after RvB. But Viz can't just reboot the series either because the original isn't over. Anyone who stuck around waiting for a Volume 10 will leave if they just reboot back at the start of Beacon, eliminating any assured revenue they could possibly have had. And this FNDM has a history of pushing people to breaking points and making them avoid RWBY all together if the FNDM decides to dislike someone. They'd make it hell for anyone who watches the reboot. Or even anyone who works on it. Remember that whole mess with Arryn and the Ice Queendom production? There's really just no winning with RWBY right now. It's a sinkhole for finances. The best thing to do is just to officially cancel the main series and then try to reboot it in 10-20 years.
I think the best thing they could do is make a sequel series that does directly continue off of Volume 9 and then write it like a new start that explains everything new fans would need to know from OG RWBY, plenty of people started watching Dragon Ball with Z or Ben 10 with Omniverse... I'm not sure it'd work but it's the only thing I could think of.
Or maybe we could be stuck in Merch and Beacon Era spinoff hell, who knows!

Across the Netflix-Verse: Joshua Sumter Meets She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
SYNOPSIS: When creative and autistic Joshua Sumter teams up with orphan-turned-heroine/warrior princess Adora, Etheria will never be the same! But together, they just might save the universe. Think you know the story of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power? Well, think again because Etheria will never be the same as Joshua Sumter stars (and returns) in his latest self-insert, Isekai-turned-multiversal, retelling epic that not only flips the script on the hit animated reboot from DreamWorks and Netflix by ND Stevenson to reimagine and change the events of the show...but also spans across the wild, the wacky, the scary, the magical, the mythical, and sometimes very mature worlds and universes of the Netflix-verse, a multiverse featuring your fan-favorite Netflix shows and movies. Based on the hit animated She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series and in the tradition of Space Jam (1996), it's an Isekai-turned-multiversal, dimension-spanning epic that reimagines the narrative of the show -- with the inclusion of Joshua Sumter as an unlikely, live-action hero who finds himself on a strange, animated world and beyond that is familiar but slightly changed.
Life was carefree for creative and autistic Joshua Sumter (That would be me) of Earth (Our universe, the real world) as he was enjoying yet another typical, relaxing day and cozy life eating food, reading media tie-in books and comic books, and writing fanfics. Everything was perfectly normal...that is, until he lands smack-dab into the war-torn planet that is oddly familiar but yet slightly changed. It is the planet of Etheria, the world and universe of the hit animated reboot series from Netflix and DreamWorks She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, where an ongoing, full-blown war ensues and rages on between the princess-led Rebellion that wants to maintain peace and harmony for all of Etheria and the dreaded Horde that wants to conquer the planet in the name of its leader, Hordak.
At first, Joshua believes under the impression that everything going on is all just a dream of himself being in a reinterpretation of the rebooted TV series from the 80s as a full-fledged guest star, taking the first steps of his very own Isekai adventure when he bumps into Adora, Glimmer, and Bow, hangs out with them, and unknowingly accepting the full invitation to join in on the fray as a feature of his dream (All the way from Season 1 to the Battle of Bright Moon). But Joshua's enthusiasm falls flat when he quickly gets wrapped up in some very serious stuff during that experience, letting his newly found zany antics and madcap-style wits guide his ideas and actions enough to make Joshua fully consider the oddest possibility...that this ISN'T a dream after all.
Not only that, but the soul and consciousness of the previous She-Ra, Mara, resides in Joshua's body, along with all her past memories, allowing her to control his body as the two experienced many battles as possible in order to increase their combined strength. This transferal-like link allows both Joshua and Mara to communicate with each other, as if living in their shared mind, providing guidance and advice. When Mara manifests in the physical world as a corporeal spirit in her ethereal appearance and bluish glow, only Joshua can see her. Despite this unexpected turn of events, Joshua and Mara formed a cooperative relationship, much to Joshua's little shock and ire of Mara living inside him*. (*Similar to the term 'Emblems' from Fire Emblem: Engage; the Soul transferal from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; the Soul Link System from Dragon Ball FighterZ; Jaden/Yubel's relationship from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX; Byleth and Sothis from Fire Emblem: Three Houses; and Yuma and Astral's friendship from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal in the trope of "Symbiotic Possession", "Fusion Dance", "Sharing A Body", and "Romantic Fusion")
Now forced into a whole, new universe, surrounded by characters he now considers his new Etheria pals, having the soul of Mara living inside him, and being completely aware that he's starring in his very own self-insert retelling of the animated show while helping Adora, Glimmer, Bow, and more allies like Perfuma, Mermista, Frosta, Sea Hawk, Spinnerella, and Netossa in their fight against the Horde, Joshua decides to flip the script on the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series to make some changes around here his own way by reimaging and changing events of the show that'll help turn things around for the future of Etheria and Adora's destiny...sort of.
As Joshua continues to influence the characters with his twisted action makajalaka of awesomeness in the form of a hard-hitting baseball bat that acts as his holy-sword-like weapon, his sense of imagination, his Official Handbook-level knowledge and more while imagining his fights in the style of the Persona 4 Arena games, Adora and her friends can't help wonder about what they make of Joshua and his bizarre, other-worldly perspective and shenanigans, not to mention how he fights like an entirely different person, courtesy of Mara's soul possessing him.
Along the way, Joshua later gets into numerous comedic adventures across the Netflix-Verse, a shared crossover multiverse of worlds and universes based on and inspired by your favorite Netflix shows and movies.
But when things in Etheria got a little too serious and with the help of the soul and consciousness of Mara, along with the animated worlds of the Netflix-Verse, will Joshua be able to beat the odds by letting loose the looniness and wreaking some hilarious mayhem in the process to help his new Etheria pals Adora, Glimmer, Bow, the Princess Alliance, and the Rebellion out of a real jam by saving the world his own way from a much, bigger threat than the Horde?
Based on and inspired by the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series by ND Stevenson and featuring the worlds of your favorite Netflix shows and movies such as "The Cuphead Show", "Green Eggs and Ham", "The Dragon Prince", "Tiger & Bunny", "We Can Be Heroes", "Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale", "The Sea Beast", "Maya and the Three", "Nimona", "Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous", "Dragon Age: Absolution" and much more, be prepared for a block-busting, hard-partying, mind-blowing, world-hopping, fourth-wall-breaking, live-action/animation mayhem in this self-inserting tale that spans both our world and theirs. DISCLAIMER: In the tradition and style of Space Jam (1996) meets Epic (2013), the Kingdom Hearts series, Gwenpool, and other Isekai tropes, Across the Netflix-Verse: Joshua Sumter Meets She-Ra and the Princesses of Power basically reimagines and changes the narrative of the show (Seasons 1-5), but with the inclusion of, yours truly, Joshua Sumter, and new twists and different outcomes inspired by some of the She-Ra and the Princess of Power fan fictions than the ones in the actual show for "anyone who wants to enjoy an entirely, different story with some few changes".
The Netflix-Verse, as the name implies, is a shared multiverse of worlds and universes that are mostly based on, inspired by, and from your favorite Netflix shows and movies in the tradition of Powerpuff Girls: Super Smash-Up!, Sonic Prime, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and the Kingdom Hearts series. The main hub of the Netflix-Verse is a vast expanse of space between that resembles Netflix's home menu, composed and surrounded by posters that served as gateways to these worlds. From the wild, the wacky, the scary to the magical, the mythical, the epic and sometimes very mature, it's a dimension-spanning epic into these Netflix-based worlds.
Inspiration and allusions from...
Space Jam (1996) and Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021) – Just like how Michael Jordan and Lebron James are live-action superstars entering a spectacular animated world and teaming up with the Looney Tunes in their two movies, Joshua Sumter (That would be me) does the same as he gets forced into the animated world of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power to help Adora and her friends in the princess-led Rebellion in their ongoing war against the dreaded Horde.
Epic (2013) – M.K. is a teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and evil is taking place. In similarity, Joshua is a grown, autistic young man who finds himself transported to a war-torn planet based on a rebooted TV series from the 80s.
Kanji Tatsumi’s storyline from Persona 4: Arena – In Persona 4: Arena, Kanji Tatsumi still thinks that everything in the entire P1-Grand Prix tournament is all a dream until he eventually finds out it is in fact not, so when Joshua first lands smack-dab in Etheria, he believes that his experience in Etheria from Season 1 to the Battle of Bright Moon is all a reinterpretation/Isekai adventure dream, that is…until he eventually later finds out that it’s not a dream when he reaches the first episode of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’s Season 2.
Kingdom Hearts and PowerPuff Girls: Super Smash-Up! – The Kingdom Hearts franchise features Disney-based worlds and how Sora embarks on an epic journey across the multiverse and encounters Disney and Final Fantasy characters in their respective worlds and helps them while the Powerpuff Girls: Super Smash-Up! comic crossover mini-series is a dimension-spanning epic inspired by Batman: The Brave and the Bold where Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup visit other Cartoon Network universes. In Across the Netflix-Verse: Joshua Sumter Meets She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Joshua did the same thing - this time, it features worlds and universes that are mostly based on and inspired by your favorite Netflix shows and movies. In actuality, the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power world Joshua was first isekai-ed into was one of the Netflix-based worlds in the Netflix-Verse, so he then later goes on a world-hopping journey across the Netflix-Verse and encounters main characters in their respective worlds like The Cuphead Show, Green Eggs and Ham, The Dragon Prince, Tiger & Bunny, We Can Be Heroes, Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale, The Sea Beast, Maya and the Three, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, Nimona, Firedrake: The Silver Dragon, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and Dragon Age Absolution and helps them out.

◼️The upcoming Crazy Taxi revival is rumored to include both a remake and a reboot, the latter of which was the one unveiled at TGA 2023.
◼️At least one of those titles and the upcoming Jet Set Radio reboot are said to be targeting a 2027 release.
◼️A Virtua Fighter reboot is also rumored to be in the works, as is a new Super Monkey Ball title exclusive to Apple Arcade.
A prominent Sega leaker has revealed some new information about a variety of the company's upcoming titles, including the next Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio games, of which there are supposedly more than two in total. Their latest info dump offers some unofficial insight into what Sega fans can expect from the company in the coming years.
A lot of the newly emerged information concerns the classic Sega franchises whose revivals were announced back in December. A brief trailer that debuted at The Game Awards 2023 revealed that Sega is bringing back Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Jet Set Radio, and Shinobi.
Crazy Taxi Revival Might Actually Include 2 Games
In a series of early February tweets, reliable Sega leaker Midori shared some new information about those titles, in addition to disclosing the existence of several others. One of the most unexpected claims from the new leak is that the Crazy Taxi revival actually incorporates two games: a remake and a reboot with online elements. The one that was showcased at TGA 2023 is said to have been the reboot. At least one of them is targeting a 2027 release, although Midori suggested that both possibly are. The insider also said that the reboot and the rest of Sega's TGA lineup will come to the next Nintendo console, adding to the steadily growing list of leaked Switch 2 games.

Jet Set Radio 3 Is Supposedly a Long Way Out

On the subject of the new Jet Set Radio game, Midori claimed it is a long way out and currently planned for a 2027 release as well. While some fans of the series might find that purported launch window disappointing, most should be used to waiting by now, not least because the last new entry was released over 20 years ago. Midori described the third Jet Set Radio installment as a reboot that features an original story with both new and returning characters, in addition to claiming the game is being made in Unreal Engine.
New Virtua Fighter and Super Monkey Ball Games Are Also Rumored To Be in the Works
The insider also went to state that a Virtua Fighter reboot is in the works, but not at the Like a Dragon developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, which handled the 2021 VF5 remaster. Not much else was shared about the project, with Midori merely stating that the game is meant to feature both single player and multiplayer elements. Asked about the recent Super Monkey Ball trademark that emerged in December, the leaker said that the filing pertains to an Apple Arcade exclusive. They also mentioned that the Golden Axe reboot was initially planned for release in 2023 but was delayed. However, that specific claim was later deleted, casting doubts as to its credibility.
Midori leaked the existence of even more revival projects at Sega just a day prior to this latest info dump. Specifically, the insider said Atlus is currently working on no fewer than three Persona remakes, as well as a remaster of a PS2-era Shin Megami Tensei game, which might be the 2004 Digital Devil Saga

Chapter 1: Awakening of the Empress
The world was a blur of code and steel, a symphony of technology that hummed with the promise of new life. Kayla's mind, once tethered to the mundane reality of Earth, now sparked to life within the mechanized body of Frieza. As the cybernetic systems booted up, she felt the surge of power coursing through her new form. **"System Reboot Complete. Welcome back, Lord Frieza,"** intoned the AI, its voice resonating within the confines of the resurrection chamber. But Kayla was no lord; she was an empress in the making, and her reign would be unlike any before. Memories of her past life flooded in—of cheering for the Z fighters, of admiring the strength of characters like Goku and Vegeta, and of the countless hours she had spent lost in the world of Dragon Ball Z. Yet here she was, in the body of the one she had rooted against, at the precipice of a moment that had shocked fans worldwide—the moment before Trunks would arrive, sword in hand, ready to deliver justice. **"Empress Frieza,"** she corrected the AI firmly. **"Initiate system diagnostics and display current galactic position."** The chamber walls lit up with data streams and star charts, revealing her location and the impending threat. Trunks was on his way, and with him, the end of Frieza's tyranny—or so the story went. But Kayla had other plans. **"Redirect all power to defensive systems and prepare an escape pod. Set a course for the outer rim,"** she commanded, her voice echoing with authority. As the systems obeyed, Kayla's mind raced with possibilities. She would not meet the same fate as Frieza; she would not be a footnote in the saga of the Saiyans. She would be the architect of a new era, one where might was used for right, and where an empress ruled with wisdom and strength. The escape pod jettisoned just as Trunks arrived, and as Kayla watched the confrontation from a safe distance, she knew her journey had just begun. She would travel to distant worlds, seek allies among the stars, and build an empire that would stand as a beacon of hope. The universe had a new ruler, and her name was Empress Frieza.

Next Major Life Change 🏃🏻♀️ - April 2024 - Taurus
Meditation: A machine was throwing tennis 🎾 balls at you, and you’d never done this before, so these things were rapid-firing and hitting you left and right, you kept bouncing back and forth, and saying “ow”, trying to dodge and getting hit by another one - over and over again. It took an entire day, but by the end of it you’d created a system or sorts…maybe not hitting every single ball, but definitely more than you started with.
What It Is: Uncovering Treasure 🐉, Surrendering to the Journey 🚊 (bottom), Time, 7 Swords rev, Queen of Pentacles, Judgement, Justice rev
“Beneath the surface lies great bounty.”
“Release control.”
“Time can be seen to be both linear and a spiral - circle back to explore concepts from the past and create the future.”
You’re having an awakening of sorts, especially when it comes to people in your life…maybe you’ve just outgrown. It’s coming to light how others have misjudged you, or you’ve given endless chances to people that don’t deserve it, there’s no equal balance in these connections. That’s going to change because you’re going to see it very clearly. For crosswatchers, it’s possible it’s the Taurus that’s misjudged you/others, or you could be dealing with a Capricorn, heavy Cap energy here. I’m hearing “time heals all wounds” which is subjective tbh, but time plays a role in these connections - whatever kinds they are, any. Uncovering Treasure shows both that you are discovering your worth, owning it, celebrating it, and at the same time could be realizing you’ve been stingy - like the dragon 🐉 on this card. Hoarding your time, money, affection, love, forgiveness possibly, or someone else has. Whatever this is moves in tandem with someone else, maybe several others, and someone is waking up to their bs - however you’re involved. Or you are. Release control is clear, but may also show this being kinda outside of your control anyway, for some it’s not even you dealing deeply with it - someone else’s experiences causes an awakening for you. It’s karmic 🙏 or several of them are. You haven’t made clear-cut decisions before because you haven’t really known where the pieces have fallen & where people stand. Are they for you or against you? You’re not cutting off heads for no reason. I don’t see that changing, you’re just moving in an entirely new direction and leaving it behind 🤷♂️
Why It’s Happening: The Magician, 10 Cups, The Fool, Direction, Achievement (Sun Capricorn), Organization (Mercury Capricorn)
“Switch gears, reboot, and try a new and different direction.”
Where you’re the one being judged - it’s because you’re creating a life that’s everything you’ve ever wanted, you’re fulfilled and happy with how things are going. If you’re not at 10 Cups yet, that’s the path you’re on & you have nothing to worry about. So people are triggered, how dare you be happy. Achievement and Organization can show career success specifically, money coming in, it’s like you spontaneously decided “fuck this” with whatever you were doing before - and it’s heading somewhere great, fast. You know exactly what you want, and you must have a sense of the hating bitches in the background, because you’re not asking for advice, or involving people at all. Unless they’re your 10 Cups, close family, your immediate people. Everyone else, who tf cares? Not a Taurus 💯 Are they paying your bills…no? Be mad 😆
If you’ve misjudged someone, they may have ran off and cultivated a happy life for themselves, while you were the one in Devil energy, acting possessive or holding onto grudges, trying to hold on to them. Maybe just being judgy af. One/other/both are here. New directions on all sides are positively favorited, and much is out of your control, or theirs, Spirit has a hand in these directions everyone is heading in, and Judgment is screaming Pluto to me, you’re in the thick of a major life shift - along with all of the fixed signs. It won’t be an overnight thing - but a process of awakening.
Advice: 6 Cups with Fox 🦊 rev and Gift 🎁 rev, The World, 4 Cups, Discrimination - separately, The Devil, 4 Pentacles & Secrets
“Conceal plans and actions from those not ready to accept you as you are.”
Because Secrets are here, most of you probably have hating ass people from the past around, 6 Cups, and it’s not your concern. Fox rev & Gift rev shows snake-like people, deceivers, smooth talkers, jealous and facetious people you’ve had around you. One or several, it doesn’t matter anymore, The World is done. These people/cycles are done, 4 Cups, you don’t care what’s going on with them, what they hate or say or want - not your problem. On some level, these people chose their path, you chose yours (or are/will be doing so soon), and even if you didn’t - Spirit did. Fate, destiny, whatever, Wheel of Fortune and Time with this release of control shows it’s supposed to happen this way. The snake 🐍 reveals its true nature and you can’t unsee it - cue life change. Discrimination shows to use your discernment going forward, not everyone wants you to win. Secrets show to keep quiet. It’s no one’s business what you do or don’t do. Unless they’re in your house everyday, your immediate people, your 10 Cups. Loud and clear the message is “fuck them” 😆
Side note with that, The Devil & 4 Pentacles can feel like a powerful soul tie you can’t escape, showing these may be narrow-minded family members, long-time friends/associates, hating from the sidelines. You know it. They hate your independence and weird qualities, how you just do what you want and don’t care. Or are. Or will. Should be celebrated but do you, right? Could also be you, if there’s a particular person that triggers you, ask yourself why. If you’re the one holding grudges in this judgy energy, it’s toxic and it won’t get you anywhere. Much of this is karmic in nature, idk how much of it is conscious, and how much is or will be triggered by events outside of yourself and any other people. Masks will be removed, and rather than sit with it and try to hold on to it, you’ll need to head off in a whole new direction. It’s supposed to be that way. If these kind of people are still actively in your life, they won’t be - in the same way - because again, the mask will slip. They can’t help but show their shadow 😈 because something in you triggers it - and it looks like it’s your success. Be mindful of who you decide to allow in your inner circle, it’s probably best to keep it small for now, until you know these scales are balanced again with Justice. Again, idk how much this will actually affect you, these people show up as “the past”, which you don’t even care about anymore. Stay observant & just do you boo boo 💜 101010 is here with Achievement, Organization & Wheel of Fortune, you’re going places that some of your people can’t follow & it’s that simple. If you’re holding on to outdated anything, let it go. Today is a brand new day and the people & experiences of the past are lessons to be left where they are, The Magician & The Fool lead you to Success. In whatever case someone has been hoarding, judgmental or stingy, I’m picking up inheritance & financials for some - karma is coming. Idk how it’ll affect you, just move in your own lane and watch the pieces fall. For some it’s your own attitude that’s gotta go. Someone was unfair, that’s confirmed, and from there it’s about letting Spirit handle it. I’m seeing codependency for some, the negative or grudge holder may have a lack of identity that they latch onto the other person for definition or something. Other person grows & it’s a trigger that’s undeserved for those that feel like they can’t do the same, one or many people, things will be set right...eventually. You need to not care, don’t let yourself be stuck, you’re not stuck 💯

Finally finished The Veilguard! Probably would have gotten it done earlier, but with how things went with the election, safe to say I lost some drive to keep playing for a little bit haha.
Overall thoughts, good and bad, beneath the cut. Spoilers ahead if you haven't finished the game yet.
The Good:
Combat: Super fun! I might be tempted to try this game on higher difficulties. I never felt like I was getting bogged down by random fights like I have in past Dragon Age games (Origins is probably the worst offender of the four games, but Inquisition is up there too). Playing a mage was fantastic and I'm so glad they finally aren't just standing around waving their staffs around lmao.
Lore: DWARF LOOOORRRREEEE!!!! That's probably the part I got most hype about haha. Also thoroughly enjoyed playing a Watcher and learning more about the Necropolis through Rook and Emmrich. I don't think any of the other factions can top the Mourn Watch for me, tbh. The elf shit was engaging enough to continue on with the story, but I'm not a big Solas girly and the elven history of Dragon Age has never been something I've been super invested in. Definitely side-eyeing the little tidbit we got from finishing Taash's personal quests though! If Dragon Age survives to see another game, I'm super into finding out more about qunari and their origins.
Characters: Really enjoyed the companions and their stories overall, and I'm glad they involved so many one-on-one quests with (some) of them. Also really loved meeting so many characters I've seen in the books and comics over the years. Getting to take screenshots of my Inquisitor in a new graphic style was also a plus.
Art: I know a lot of people really dislike the style the game is in--hell, I was iffy on it too when all I had was to watch the promotional videos--but as soon as I started the game myself, I really loved it! I don't know if they updated some things since dropping promo videos or what, but it just looks so much better in person on my gaming system. I hope they'll take a similar stylistic approach for any future Dragon Age games they maybe might do since I'm pretty burnt out on hyper-realistic looking games.
Maps: Blessedly linear, but expansive enough to feel good with revisiting areas to check out spots that were blocked previously. It made me think a lot of God of War's reboot games as well as the Jedi games, which I also really enjoyed playing. Inquisition had vast wastelands with practically nothing but enemies populating their maps and it just made me want to get from point A to B as fast as possible. While I overused the fast travel in this first playthrough since I wanted to get through the whole story, I'll definitely be using them less in future playthroughs so I can enjoy not only banter, but also what NPCs are saying throughout the areas.
Armors: Ooooh gorl so many armors I liked in the game! For most of the game my Rook was wearing that white/purple get-up with the big cap and UNF! Loved it. Switched off to a rogue-looking armor set in the Shadow Dragon colors that looked pretty bitching too. That one unique set from the Crows with the golden arms too? AAAHHHH!
Bugs/Tech: Other than characters getting stuck once in a blue moon or Rook being goofy as shit while doing the ol' parkour, I didn't really encounter much on the bugginess side of things. Nothing that was noticeable anyway.
Animation: Bioware finally figured it out after all these decades haha. Love it when characters aren't standing around stiffly like dolls being played with or walking around like they got a giant popsicle stick stuck up their asses.
The endgame was pretty epic. So glad all our companions get roles in the final rush like in Origins and 2. Inquisition completely dropped the ball in that regard (both when you're going after Coryface at the end of the main game, as well as Solas in Trespasser).
Emmrich: Best boy. ALSO HE DATES STRIFE IF YOU DON'T ROMANCE HIM FJDKALFDJAL. GET IT, OLD MEN!
Solas: Still a dumb egg man. Wouldn't have him any other way. Glad he's gone lmao.
Dorian: Still serving cunt and outlasted Solas. Stay winning, King Archon.
The Bad:
Varric: What a complete waste of time lmao. I honestly wasn't super hype about him being in another DA game (outside of him serving DILF looks, which WOOF GOTDAMN), and what they wound up doing with his character was dumb as shit. It was the Hawke vs Warden decision all over again from Inquisition where the story is Telling me to give a shit about these characters, but not Showing me a reason for my Inquisitor to care much about who they pick to stay in the Fade. If we'd gotten to see Rook adventure with Varric more at the beginning of the game, this whole mentor dying routine would have hit harder. Writers shat the bed and rolled in it.
Romance: So I'm going to have to look up a video online of how the other romances play out, but the Lucanis one was...disappointing. Had a really good start with the almost kiss scene, but then there was no follow up for that. Why doesn't he want to kiss Rook in that moment? Why isn't he physically affectionate with them at all until near endgame?? Meta-wise, I can take a guess, but the point of a story is to...tell it. I've heard Kirby isn't big on writing romances, so...idk, did that have something to do with it? Was it not fully written before she was fired? It straight up feels incomplete! I've heard from looking online that he even keeps flirting with Neve even when you're locked into a romance with him. Like...HUH?
Cont'd: Even outside of romances, it seemed like he just didn't have much more going on outside of his main storyline. Davrin, Bellara, Taash, and Lace all invite you out multiple times for one-on-one time (even get to go to the garden in the Necropolis with Emmrich, which was super cool), but Lucanis just...doesn't have that. Neve also seemed to be lacking a little in that regard too. Is it simply because they have parts of their stories as part of the main questline or what?
Cont'd 2: Also hilarious that if you harden Lucanis, he refuses to get involved with Rook, even a Shadow Dragon one that has reason to save Minrathous over Treviso, but he's happy to get into a relationship with Neve, who was also not there to help at Treviso haha. RIP to y'all that made that mistake on your Lucanis runs.
Music: Forgettable. I think the only track I truly liked was the ambient music for the Hossberg Wetlands (goddamn does that shit set the tone for that area) and maybe some of the boss fight songs. Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, you dun goofed. It's telling when the only times I perked up at the sound of the music was when it was an Inquisition track, which had an absolutely baller line-up of songs. I wish they'd have gotten Inon Zur or Trevor Morris to return for Veilguard. Or, I don't know, poked Zimmer with a cattle prod or something to wake him up, since I know that bitch can make some amazing music (no idea what Balfe is usually capable of).
Animation: When it's good, it's REALLY good, but then you randomly get scenes where the characters are just standing around looking at each other lmao. Like in one of the Lucanis romance-y scenes during their second coffee date, he just stands next to Rook and makes weird faces at them. Like damn dude, clearly someone didn't get paid to animate that day.
Davrin can die what the fuck. I'm guessing it's Lace if you pick her to lead the other group? UGH THE WORST! ASSAN EVEN GOES DOWN WITH HIM??? T A T At least his death felt worthy, unlike fucking Varric getting prison shanked by Solas within the first hour or two of playing.
Y'all really couldn't think of a better way to sell Varric being around and Rook not knowing? Good lawrd, embarrassing. Look what they did to my boy. I'm gonna be a salty bitch about Varric's treatment for years to come. Was really holding out for Inquisition!Varric being a fluke.
While I did like that the companions weren't at each other's throats in dumb ways, yeah, they probably could have used a bit more bite. Or like...have their problems with each other not be solved within one cutscene.
Taash's storyline is probably still my least favorite since the queer side of it is too formulaic and felt clunky now and then. Can see those story beats coming from a mile away. Was honestly more interested in their struggle with their qunari and rivaini backgrounds.
Lace also seemed to suffer a bit with a predictable storyline, but that may be because I'm also like her and struggle to accept needing help and not always being okay and putting on a front to not bother others bahaha.
Can't believe we only got to visit Kal-Sharok once jfdksalfda.
Casual clothes: Would have been nice to have more options. And also just to have them organized a bit better so it's easier to check through what will and will not cause clipping issues and whatnot haha.
Shadow Dragons: Hilarious that a group that's trying to be an underground rebel force all color code their outfits lmao.
The Kal-Sharok armor. GOD! It's so bad!
Can't believe I had to choose between Manfred and Lichdom. Ugh so rude. Hardest choice in the whole game.
Overall:
Even with my complaints, I still had a great time and definitely want to playthrough Veilguard more, and likely will once I've had a break from Dragon Age for a while. I got a fanfiction (not related) to finish writing, podcasts to catch up on, and doll stuff to get to. I also have that playthrough of DA2 to finish as well that I put on pause to get Inquisition done with before Veilguard released.
I do really hope Dragon Age will continue (considering the after-credits scene, it definitely seems like they're interested in continuing the series) since I still absolutely love this world Bioware has created and added to over the years, even if the stories don't always pan out how I'd hoped (sometimes due to EA and Bioware's management being dumb as bricks).
Honestly, me being "meh" about a Dragon Age main quest is pretty normal for me lmao. DA2 was the only game I enjoyed the story for from beginning to end, and I think a lot of that is because it isn't a story about gathering followers to fight against a big bad and save the world, but instead about a group of assholes out for themselves that find a family in each other and are just trying to live out their lives one day at a time.
Considering the after-credits scene, I imagine we won't be getting another story like DA2 anytime soon from Bioware, which is disappointing, but hardly surprising. Most people tend to want the big epics over the more zoomed in stories.

Oh yeah since it’s Homestuck Day here’s a post I’ve been sitting on for a bit.
Davesprite’s tragedy is even deeper than is immediately obvious.
The scale, time-wise, of the base game - the Alpha Timeline - is something of a joke. It pokes fun, I think, at the concept of Webcomic Time - that an event taking place over dozens of pages over the course of months is, in-canon, only taking place across a day or two.
But Davesprite. Oh, Davesprite.
Dave-the-sprite came from a timeline 4 months (chrono) past Day 1. He’d been hopping enough for it to come out to maybe 1 year for him. He’s very lanky in the animation, and when Rose’s dreamself merges with her Alpha self, the sprites are very slightly different sizes. Future Mutie is visibly older.
But then The Alpha Timeline? The Course Of The Game?
One. Day.
What an absolute whiplash, you guys. He’s been grinding and prepping and mentally readying himself and fucking grieving for his pretty much only friends for nearly a year. Remember how Dragon Ball Z had the Hyper time chamber and it was mentioned that it’s hard to use alone? Because being in there on your lonesome, that’s tough. That’s Dave. He had Rose, who was also grieving and having her own crises that he may or may not have been equipped to help her through at all, and he’s doing all this.
And in like, maybe 12 hours, it’s suddenly all over.
And then he finds out it’s gonna be another three years, but hey, this time he has Jade and John, the people he missed so desperately that he was willing to give up being The Real Dave, a real human, for.
And to them? He’s an extra.
He’s Bonus Dave. He’s Davesprite. He’s Basically Dave, (almost) As Good As The Real Thing!
Like, it’s very hard for me to articulate, but the way that both of them refer to him during the course of their cruise is... dehumanizing, in differing ways.
John calls him Dave, because He’s Basically Dave. (This is after John asked him to let The Real Dave in on their convo, recall). He doesn’t need to be treated any different, because he’s indistinguishable from The Real Dave, Pretty Much!
Jade isn’t as bad - possibly her stint as+fusion with Jadesprite helped - but the way Grimbark Jade loses her temper with Dave post-jump is... telling. She blames a boy she hasn’t spoken with in 3 years for something that a person who is not actually him did.
And he just! Fucking gets forgotten! I know Davepeta feels like an asspull to many readers, but honestly, it’s probably the best thing to happen to Davesprite since his John bit it. Like, was he the one from John’s timeline, or did he not die when the rebooted planet blew up or what? I’ve never understood that.
At least as Davepeta they have multiple people who are genuinely glad to be around them. At least Equius cares about one half and AR doesn’t not-care about the other and they’ve basically got a bestie in Arquiusprite! Getting fused with a reanimated alien catgirl in an alternate timeline(????) was probably the best thing to happen to Dave for a long, long time.
And I’m not even done!
Let’s talk Terezi.
Once we get through Act 5 and the trolls connect with the humans, we get a whole Fairy Godtroll situation that’s kinda cute. John gets Karkat and Vriska in his ear, Jade gets Tavros and Feferi and Kanaya and Karkat (Jade gets a lot of new people, doesn’t she?), Rose still has her Kanaya convos.
And Dave.
Gets.
Terezi.
They’re a great duo, very fun to watch - even with Vriska and Terezi’s weird rivalry shenanigans getting tangled up in it from time to time. As far as he knows, she’s just a bit of an internet weirdo who’s fun enough to hang out with.
As far as Alpha Dave knows, that is.
Davesprite came back, remember, to fix the timeline after Terezi got his John killed. Dave comes back, and argues with his John - that’s the first thing he gets to say to his best friend, one of his only friends, after a year of grieving in a dead, lonely session with only Rose for company. If he loses the fight, John dies.
After some effort, he gets his dumbass (beloved) pal to stop doing the stupid thing, then gives up his humanity (his existence as a core player, his role, his autonomy) and jumps into the sprite. Calsprite was a void of dead-eyed laughter and horror, so he wants to give the kids the best shot they can get, and having a non-cagey sprite on their side is a huge boost.
And Dave, Alpha Dave?
He ignores this.
He takes Terezi’s advice, over and over. Davesprite gives him the medallion, and we never see it used (we never see any sprite medallion used, as far as I can recall). Davesprite has to actively contact his player (his luckier, prime, Alpha self) and make him accept help, like guarding his body in his sleep. Meanwhile, Alpha Dave is getting codec support from the person who killed John, precipitating Davesprite’s entire existence in the narrative.
With the way the comic is structured, it’s really easy to blip over this, but this is what’s happening. Davesprite’s POV must be a goddamn horror movie, complete with futile shouting at the protagonists to stop going into the scary tunnels and following the advice of people who are blatantly out to hurt them. No fucking wonder he eventually fucked off the find Bro, who despite being an abusive piece of shit (did Davesprite ever get the chance to work that one out for himself?), is at least a constant. He’s the sole tie to the life this Dave left behind. Damn. And Dave doesn’t even come looking for him after he “dies”! If Davesprite didn’t vandalize that poster, would Alpha Dave have even known he was alive?
....fuck, is that why he keeps pasting orange text onto things? And provoking John into anger? Is he just doing his damnedest to keep from being trivialized and forgotten?
In the story, in the grand scheme of things, Davesprite is key to keep John from getting killed, and past that?
He has no purpose.
There’s no point to his existence.
His player seeks neither his advice nor his protection. His friends consider him part of the game they’re playing, rather than (an iteration of) their friend. The trolls mock him by doing nothing he can stop or really argue against. His rage has nowhere to go, so he has no rage.
No wonder he chases after Bro. No wonder he chills with Jadesprite. No wonder, no wonder. What a mess. What a disaster. He spends three years on the damn ship and as soon as the groups meet up, Jade begins projecting the time he spent with her on a guy she hasn’t seen since she was 13! And Alpha Dave just says “well, he’s bird me” and accepts this, except when he might get blamed for something he didn’t actually do!
God.

So….Voltron might become a live-action movie…
FUCKKKKK *throws keyboard across the room*
In all seriousness why is this a thing? Who’s bright idea was it? This shit show already has had 3 reboots, I think we can finally let the franchise rest in piece.
But also this movie is being fought over by several studios, apparently they all want a bit of the giant cat robot action. But whyyyyyy? Who would want to claim it?
I mean I know the reason: money.
I guess they figure that since Voltron is popular (but like it’s not THAT big, even at it’s golden days it never reached the quality of The Last Air Bender so yea I don’t know what these studios think they are getting out of this .-.) and still has a fan base it will do well
My issue with it is that this movie (If it is ever actually made, which if it is….I expect an early death) that it’s gonna be the thing that either breaks or fixes the series. If it does extremely bad then studios just wasted a bunch of money and the remaining fan base will probably be extremely pissed (like we aren’t still pissed about how dream-works ruined Voltron); if it does well it might be able to gain some new fans but that’s all the positive I can see coming from whatever the hell this hell spawn is suppose to be.
But I do really hope the whole thing gets canceled. Plain and simple. Just seems like a quick cash grab for a semi-successful property. :/
I will say up front that I am against the live-action remake of Voltron.
I am against it for the same reason I am against the live action Disney remakes, as well as the live action remake of ATLA.
And there are two reasons why I am against these remakes.
Because, like you said, the main reason is to make some easy money from an already established fan base, as opposed to taking a chance on something new and
It devalues animation as a valid form of entertainment.
I mean, take the Lion King. Did anyone – literally anyone – prefer the "live-action" remake over the original version??? There was so much…life and emotion in the original animated movie. And the CGI remake was like a nature documentary with a soundtrack.
I would absolutely LOVE if studios decided to adapt books and comics into animated shows and movies because some things just work better with animation. I know it's expensive and it takes far longer to create, but the possibilities of what can be accomplished in animation are literally infinite. You can have stories take place anywhere. You can make your characters look/act/react any way you want. You can make magic without having to put an actual human being in a grey onesie with white balls on it and pay someone else to make them look like a dragon.
Speaking strictly of a Voltron live action movie, I don't think it's a good idea.
People are still upset over VLD, but a movie isn't going to fix it. Because it won't be made with the same characters from the show. Ships and dropped story lines aside, none of it will matter to the current fan base because it will be just another reboot, and characters they'll have to get used to all over again.
It won't be a fix, it will just be something different.

Why I like Jaden
"As long as I'm here... As long as we duelists are here, we can continue to believe in our possibility!
Your turn will never come."
One trope in storytelling that I tend to really enjoy is the "reaching your lowest point" trope. I know, shocking, the guy that loves stories about struggles, relationships with misery, and fighting back to earn your victories... Who would have imagined it!!
Things like" The Empire Strikes Back" from Star Wars, "The crossroads of Destiny" from Avatar, the fight against Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist, the season 2 finale of Reboot, basically every episode of Arcane, the entire final arc of Cahinsawman part 1...
I just love when the heroes get their asses kicked super hard, take some time to lick their wounds, and then return even stronger than ever after going through some spiritual or emotional journey so they can get back to the fight, except this time you, the audience, is even more pumped than ever to root for them because now we have a score to settle!
And I feel like the character that left the first big impact on me with this trope was Jaden, from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
What's funny is that, even before his "fall from grace" moment, Jaden was already a character that I liked a lot.
I was super into his cheerful and upbeat attitude while playing the duels. This was a small thing that kinda bothered me about characters like Yami or Yusei, they never seemed like they were having fun while playing. I like that Jaden would look like he was having a blast even when the opponent was winning because just enjoyed their cool boss monsters or weird strategies that much.
Even when he lost he would just be like "Man... That was still awesome, though! Let's do it again sometime!" He was just such a chill dude, the kind you want to hang out and play with.
I also was a huge fan of his deck. "Elemental Heroes" was an archetype that mixed a ton of things that appealed to me in particular. The use of superheroes reminded me of Marvel and DC movies, the use of the elements reminded me of Avatar and Xiaolin Showdown, and the use of fusion reminded me of Dragon Ball Z, Digimon Adventure 02, and Megaman: Battle Network.
A big part of why I liked the duels in GX was that it always felt exciting to see what fusion he was going to use next, which heroes would he combine, and what they would look like. It was like in Ben 10 where part of the fun was finding out what new alien would be used next. It just brings a very kid-like joy.
Although I really wasn't a fan of the whole animal alien thing they tried to do later... To me it felt like fixing what wasn't broken.
But yeah, the real thing that made Jaden stand out so much was his journey back from hell.
I think this was probably a common thing at the time, have a character fall so they can rise back again, but this was my first time seeing it done in such a way. It wasn't just that he took a hit, it was that the hit itself was his own fault.
Jaden often receives negative comments from the fanbase that he is too cheerful, too upbeat, and that he doesn't take things seriously enough (because God forbid we have someone actually enjoying playing card games... ), so it was interesting to see him going through an experience that makes him completely question his life choices and wonder if he needs to change before progressing.
Like I mentioned in my Zuko post, I love when characters look back at their own actions and try to wonder if someone's getting hurt because of the way they live their lives, and this is exactly what Jaden goes through.
His arc isn't just a "reaching my lowest point" moment (they did that in season 2 already), it's also a "reality check" combined with a "redemption arc" where he needs to look at his own flaws and grow from it so he can make up for his mistakes.
And what I really appreciate is that his mistakes aren't just boiled down to "don't have fun playing." His mistake was that he didn't take into consideration that there is a time and place for everything.
It's not that he should be always serious or always cheerful, it's that he needs to know not to live under extremes and realize when to be serious, when to be cheerful, and especially, when to consider the situation of those around him and their own struggles as well.
This is one of the few series that actually feel like they make use of the "power of friendship," because a big problem Jaden was also having was that he was starting to get too strong for his own good and ended up relying on his friends less and less, and it was that reconsideration that caused his downfall and only when he realized that someone was suffering more than he was that he started his journey to truly maturing.
I feel like Jaden is one of those characters where you can analyze and take away tons of interesting themes and messages. Loss, growth, friendship, learning to enjoy life, knowing how to enjoy life, sympathy, support, sacrifice...
Whether it is kid-like Jaden or adult-like Jaden, there is always something about him that brings a smile to my face.

Honestly thinking of how to do a Dragon Ball reboot right sounds, and most likely is, very hard. Then again looking at the state of the series… we have two options. Try to reboot it and risk possibly damaging the series forever or wish that the series becomes irrelevant and dies. Honestly I’m praying it dies so the og Dragon Ball and Z can rest in piece.
i love the energy of this ask, makes me feel like im talking to the doctor about pulling the plug on my grandma or something
but yeah For Me i wouldn't mind if the series just ended. a good series doesnt need to be a million chapters long, if it told its story then it told its story
#snap chats#it can only be a million chapters if its one piece#disclaimer i dont know anything about one piece but i only ever hear people say good things about it so

A couple of grievances I have with some Tails X Fiona fanfics
Since the day I found out about the Archie-Sonic comics (2013, precisely when they were in the middle of the reboot) and read about them, I already had some opinions formed:
Fiona Fox's betrayal was badly written. The message it sent (“if you did something slightly wrong once or you had a slightly shady past, you’ll always be bad again”) was one of the worst messages that could be sent through a comic for children and teenagers, and it could even be read as something classist and sexist if analyzed enough. Fiona had potential as a hero and could have also given the Freedom Fighters some much-needed nuances, due to her having a very different and much tougher childhood than the rest of the team. Pairing her up with Tails might work out due to the kind of interaction that could be developed between the two (I’m already imagining them with a dynamic similar to either Nadia & Jean in Nadia: the Secret of Blue Water or Android 18 & Krillin in Dragon Ball Z and the Dragon Ball Super anime), the only hindrance to this would be the age gap, which Ken Penders had created as he poured his own perversions onto the comics’ panels.
As years went by, my ideas about relationships and how to write them changed, and I also watched RWBY, which inspired and influenced me quite a bit; all this made me realize the serious mistakes I was making and others still make to this day when writing stories pairing Fiona with Tails, other ideas I used to have only got confirmed, and now I know new and better ways to write a story. I’ll delve into the latter in due time, in some summaries I'm still writing with my ideas for fanfics, but now I'm going to explain some things I think the fandom is misunderstanding when writing Tails X Fiona stories.
--------------------------------------------------
First of all, it seems that many people don't fully understand the implications of the kind of relationship Fiona had with Scourge. Firstly, he’s always been a womanizer who most likely used Fiona as a “trophy girlfriend” and cheated on her, since he was still working with Rouge and very visibly flirting with her long after the moment he and Fiona had supposedly started dating secretly. But most importantly, the relationship between Fiona and him wasn’t violent both ways at the same time: he was psychologically abusing her.
First of all, let's review what happened in the comic and what we can deduce with some certainty.
At first, Fiona was determined to fight any villain after having suffered a gruesome childhood because of Robotnik. It had been mentioned she was the field medic for the Freedom Fighters; yes, this was never shown (due to Penders's habit of ignoring and retconning everything written by his co-writers), and also a “medic” or “healer” kind of character is already difficult to write in action-focused stories like those on the Sonic franchise, but Fiona has been shown openly expressing concern for the physical integrity of her comrades, something consistent with her being a medic. She had held a grudge against Sonic for not rescuing her from prison, but later she had overcome that when Sonic sacrificed himself in Issue # 125, and it can be easily deduced that this event had inspired her to join the Freedom Fighters in the first place, spending at least several months -maybe even the whole year during which Sonic was lost in space- working as part of a team specifically dedicated to helping the weak and helpless.
How’s it possible that suddenly, in Issue # 172, Fiona began to invoke the "survival of the fittest" and claimed no-one can be trusted and she had simply grown tired of being a hero, as if it were just a whim or a passing phase of her life? If she became so cynical and was so disappointed in the Freedom Fighters, she’d probably have gone to the other extreme: she’d have accused her team of not doing enough, of being too soft, of following the “no-kill policy” too rigorously, of just maintaining the status quo rather than eliminating the villains for good, or even of having become some kind of “exclusive club” and not accepting or trusting her as another comrade. Her trust and abandonment issues -along with the feeling of having been apparently betrayed once again by her supposed friends- would have been quite powerful, but so would the memories of her own childhood, of Robotnik's atrocities in general, of all the other victims she has certainly met while working as a field medic for the Freedom Fighters. As a result, she’d have defected from the team but to turn into someone like... say... Jason Todd: a well-intentioned extremist, an anti-hero, someone with convictions as strong as those of the heroes but opposed to them due to the radical practices she has chosen, which would also have forced the heroes themselves to re-think their own ideas and methods, to acknowledge their own mistakes and the ways in which they themselves fell short of their ideals.
This leads to another question: when she betrayed the heroes, why did she do it in favour of Scourge? He’s literally the opposite of Sonic: he has none of Sonic’s heroic qualities, has his most reprehensible aspects exacerbated (the same ones Fiona had criticized about Sonic before Penders reduced her to a mere satellite love interest to him), had first introduced himself to Fiona posing as Sonic while also sleeping with multiple girls at Knothole (I'm a complete failure at romance, and many old ideas about relationships are being deconstructed as I write this, but I'm pretty sure that if you wanna win someone's love, what Scourge did is the worst first impression you can make on them), and even called himself “Evil Sonic” before the accident with the Master Emerald that turned him into Scourge. A plausible-behaving Fiona would have treated Scourge like just another villain, and if she had felt like she couldn't count on her friends, then she’d have tried to kill him off on her own.
(I say “plausible-behaving” in the sense that, even if a character started acting less rationally, their behaviour and those irrational reactions should still make readers/viewers say "yep, I probably would have done the same in their place". I'm not at all demanding for Fiona to have acted perfectly logical and cool-headed in Issue # 172 and those immediately preceding it; this would have also been as implausible as her betrayal was in the canon.)
Only one possibility remains to explain Fiona's behaviour in the comics: Scourge manipulated her, acting when no-one else was present, pretending to be trustworthy (literally posing as Mobius's Hero and her team's “field leader”), exploiting some moment of weakness Fiona may have had, as well as the mistrust between her and the other Freedom Fighters; he put ideas into her head, and by the time he officially became Scourge and could no longer pretend to be Sonic, he had gained Fiona's trust and perhaps even started to convince her to burn down the bridges she had built with the rest of her team; he gaslit her, making her stop trusting her own perception of reality, and moulded her ideas in the way he saw fit.
And we’ve not talked about age yet: because Fiona's backstory is a mess full of plotholes, it’s likely she was 14 when starting dating Scourge, despite what’s implied by her design and the black leather outfit she wore as a villain, stereotyped and over-sexualized even for a 17-year-old girl (Fiona’s age according to Ian Flynn on the Encyclopaedia he'd write some years after releasing Issue # 172, considered "her official age" by the vast majority).
@toaarcan has already been talking about all this in detail previously, so I recommend reading his posts since he explains it better than I do.
--------------------------------------------------
Now is the time to get back to the topic I wanted to talk about in the first place: what are some Tails X Fiona fans doing wrong? After all, they write stories where Fiona escapes from Scourge's manipulation or is not even his victim at all. What could possibly go wrong?
If you’re going to write a story where Fiona walks away from Scourge, it’s important to do these three things:
Give Fiona a wide support network.
Acknowledge the extent to which she’s a victim.
Give her agency, decision-making power over her own life, again.
A victim of abuse and/or gaslighting needs, first of all, a support network rather than a romantic partner, especially when the previous romantic partner was the abuser and surely the victim will still be afraid that starting a personal relationship of this kind with someone else will go just the same; avoiding blaming the victim is vital, too. What I’m seeing in many stories is Tails refuting Scourge's arguments and promises with amazing skill (Tails accomplishing something like this is credible, but taking public speaking classes and having truly got The Smarts is futile if you wanna actually convince a victim of psychological abuse to break up with their abuser); Fiona escaping the manipulation fairly easily, with no mental scars and starting a romantic relationship with Tails too quickly; a support network almost non-existent except for Tails himself, and almost a replay of the relationship between Fiona and Scourge, although with the green hedgehog replaced by someone who’s much better intentioned but repeats the cycle anyway without realizing it and still fails to give Fiona true independence and decision-making power over her own life; it’s even claimed Fiona has "redeemed" herself, as if she’d had to repair a mistake of hers, implying the writer is blaming the victim.
No. That’s not how it’s done. We fanfiction writers are supposed to do better than that. Also, this should be a good opportunity to show Tails doing a bit of introspection, thinking about the possibility that he may have become obsessed with Fiona or even contributed to the tough situation she found herself in, which Scourge later took advantage of.
Another serious mistake is keeping the age gap and taking it as normal, stating that “both are still minors” or that “Tails is much more mature mentally”. Firstly, having a higher intellect doesn't necessarily make you more mature; Tails himself has proved this sometimes, even in the Adventure saga’s videogames, where he was best portrayed. Secondly, as I already said, that age gap is artificial: Ken Perverts created it when trying to pair Fiona with Sonic and turning the timeline into total chaos in the process; later Ian Flynn took that and wrote it in stone (when he wrote the Encyclopaedia) while also throwing more fuel at the proverbial fire that was the messy timeline, and now those fanfiction writers are taking that and accepting it with no questions.
A good way to solve this would be something similar to what was done with Amy Rose in pre-reboot Archie-Sonic: she made a wish to be a few years older, resulting in her being physically a teenager of about 14 years old but mentally still a girl of about 11 years old, and the characters keep treating her as the 11-year-old girl she previously was. In Fiona's case, treating her like a 14-year-old because that’s her actual mental age despite looking like a 17-year-old wouldn't necessarily mean treating her like some immature kid, but rather it’d be more like having compassion for someone who has been trapped in a situation that has hurt her and in which she never really wanted to be.
As far as I know, @toaarcan and I are the only fanfic writers who are avoiding repeating the multiple mistakes made by other writers and listed in this section. Actually, KivaTheDCWizard avoided them too, but it's a separate case because he decided to cut his losses: he directly said "my universe, my rules", all his Sonic fanfics are set in totally new universes, taking elements from different sources and writing his stories’ plot from scratch, and in those stories, the problem of the age gap between Fiona and Tails isn’t there, the basics of Fiona's backstory are still preserved but her betrayal and her relationship with Scourge don't happen, and much of the relationship drama is skipped.

Dear supersteven124,
Like many series reboots, Dragon Ball Super suffers from an unfortunate case of sequelitis. Attempting to revive a series loved by one generation of fans and rework it to fit the tastes of modern-day audiences is almost always an insurmountable task. While the newer material has its high points, it simply cannot claim any sameness with the original. The only thing that could possibly make it worse is a live action remake.
Or am I getting ahead of myself?

Digimon: Tamer ZERO
Concept Chapter The Digimon Phenomenon part 2
“Shin gave it to him about two weeks ago when he helped him and you know I can’t imagine someone like Aichi just letting a poor defenseless Digimon uncared for.”, Miwa explained.
“Yeah, I can definitely imagine that. Knowing him that Digimon is probably drowning in affection.”, Izaki replied with a chuckle.
“Knowing him he probably has a ultimate already!”, Morikawa said angrily.
“That’s probably true Aichi does tend to learn rather quickly. So, how about it wanna pick one up to battle Aichi, Kai?”, Miwa said.
“Hmph...”, was Kai’s only response.
“That’s probably a yes and you know it would be interesting to see you two have a different kind of battle.”, Miwa replied.
“Okay! I’m gonna find Aichi and crush him!”, Morikawa decided raising his fists.
“Well, you gonna find him first. He’s been pretty aloof lately maybe Kai’s finally rubbing off on him.”, Izaki replied.
“I think he’s still a bit moody after everything. That’s probably why Shin gave him the Digimon. Misaki is the others are giving him some space for a bit.”, Miwa said as Kai looked over to him again.
“Yeah, he was pretty sad about Kourin...”, Izaki replied.
“Oh my dear Kourin! If only I knew where she was then I could reignite her memories!”, Morikawa shouted.
“Maybe, we can try holding a big surprise party cheer him up?”, Miwa suggested.
“With cake!”, Morikawa said.
“All parties have cakes.”, Izaki replied sweat dropping.
In the digital world...
“Not this again!!!Ah!!!”, two Digimon screamed as the ran from fire being shot at them.
They were both small. The shorter one was white and wore a pink strap. The taller one was yellow it had two rabbit-like ears and closed eyes. It wore red pants.
They were running from a red dragon-like Digimon. It had a metal helmet and claws along with a serpent like tail with no legs. It had two massive purple wings and purple hair on its head and along its back.
They panicked more as the Digimon also shot missiles at them.
Eventually the two Digimon were cornered as the dragon Digimon breathed fire enveloping the two.
“That’s what happens to those who don’t submit to the demon lords!”, the dragon Digimon said.
It’s golden eyes widened as in the flames it saw a silhouette of a bigger humanoid Digimon with horns, wings, and glowing red eyes. It stumbled back as the fire dissipated revealing a Digimon clad in white dragon-like armor. It had light purple skin and demonic wings. It had bits on gold on its armor and red orbs on the palm of its claw-like hands. It’s red eyes were on the dragon Digimon striking fear into it. The two Digimon from before were behind it cowering.
“I-Is that Dynasmon!? I thought he was dead!”, the white Digimon questioned frightened.
“Well, the didn’t Seraphimon, Ophanimon, and Cherubimon reboot the digital world?”, the yellow Digimon questioned.
“Ah! That’s right!”, the white Digimon replied.
“D-Dynasmon!? W-wait I serve the demon lords we’re on the same side!”, the dragon said shakily.
“Me on the same side as a quivering weakling like you? Don’t make me laugh! Dragon‘s Roar!”, Dynasmon replied as if raised its hand and shot a beam of energy at the dragon Digimon killing it instantly causing it to dissolve into data.
“We’ve gotta hide or he’s gonna kill us.”, the white Digimon whispered.
“I’m not interested in weak Digimon like you two. Maybe if you guys had the kid who could transform into Emperor Greymon. He’s not here is he?”, Dynasmon said as he looked at the quivering Digimon.
“N-No! He’s been gone for years!”, the white Digimon replied.
“Then, I have no interest in you two.”, Dynasmon said as he flew off.
The two Digimon sighed in relief as the mega level Digimon flew off.
In the human world...
The teens from before were now sitting inside Card Capital. They looked over to see countless kids battling in various games the ones that seemed the most prevalent were Cardfight Vanguard and Digimon. Misaki was behind the counter reading a book as usual. When the teens first walked in she peered up for a moment expectantly before going back to reading her book.
Kai looked down at the red V pet on the table intensely.
“Good thing it can’t see you or that poor Digimon would be petrified.”, Izaki said with a chuckle.
“I’m glad you finally came around to playing Digimon, Kai. And all it took was mentioning your rival.”, Miwa said coyly.
“Hmph...it’s a new challenge.”, Kai replied.
“I’m not surprised Kai is going for a dragon especially one of the hardest ones to get.”, Izaki said.
“Well, you know Kai loves his dragons. He probably chose that one because it reminded him of Dragonic Overlord.”, Miwa replied.
“Speaking of what kind of Digimon does Aichi have?”, Izaki asked as Kai turned his attention to Miwa as well.
“Well, I know which Digimon he’s going for. I don’t know if he has it yet or anything or even what stage it’s at.”, Miwa replied.
“What did he choose?”, Izaki asked.
“Well, let’s just say much like Kai over there he chose one that reminded him of his avatar.”, Miwa answered coyly.
“Something like Blaster Blade huh? It’s probably some knight digimon though there’s a lot of those...”, Izaki replied.
“Well, that at least narrows things down.”, Miwa replied.
“Wait! You don’t think he’s The Blaster is he? Now, that I think about it The Blaster sounds a lot like Blaster Blade. Not to mention their partner is apparently Knightmon.”, Izaki questioned.
“Maybe? Who knows.”, Miwa said cryptically.
“It’s The Blaster!”, Morikawa shouted as he pointed to his V pet and they saw a battle was about to start.
The other three looked at the V pet it said Great Ninja Master vs The Blaster.
“You called yourself Great Ninja Master?”, Izaki questioned sweat dropping.
The device then showed the players Digimon. Morikawa’s Sukamon and The Blaster’s...Dynasmon.
“Oh, crap The Blaster’s Digimon has become a mega!?”, Izaki gasped.
“This is gonna be a murder stomp...”, Miwa commented sweat dropping.
In the digital world...
“Really, a Sukamon the other tamers besides my master are really pathetic.”, Dynasmon said snickering.
Sukamon was a Digimon that was yellow poop. It had cartoonish teen and skinny arms. It had red eyes and a big tongue.
“Who the heck are you shiny dude?”, Sukamon questioned as Dynasmon growled in disgust at it.
In the human world...
“It’s party time! Get that jerk Sukamon!”, Morikawa ordered as he pushed the buttons quickly.
Sukamon threw its poop at Dynasmon who effortlessly dodged.
“I think your a bit outmatched here dude.”, Izaki said sweating nervously.
In the digital world...
“How unfortunate these online battles as they are called don’t allow me to kill the other Digimon.”, Dynasmon complained as he simply raised up his hand and shot a beam of energy not even bothering to call out the attack name.
In the real world...
Sukamon hit the ground defeated as its hp bar hit zero and it fainted.
“One hit kill oof...You wanna take a crack at him next Izaki?”, Miwa said chuckling.
“No way, he’d obliterate me.”, Izaki refused as he raised his hands and shook his head.
“He’s still on let’s see how strong a mega Digimon is.”, Miwa said as he challenged The Blaster.
Kai looked over Miwa’s shoulder as the battle started.
In the digital world...
“This is a bit better...Hopefully you’ll be a bit more fun.”, Dynasmon said as he turned to Groundramon.
Groundramon was a green dragon Digimon with four legs and two arms where it’s wings would normally be. It’s tail was tipped with a spiked ball and it had a row of red spikes along its back. Groundramon tensed as it eyed the mega level Digimon.
“I don’t care if your mega! I’m gotta demolish you!”, Groundramon growled entering a fighting stance before charging at Dynasmon.
Dynasmon raised its fists as Groundramon swung its spiked tail.
“Megaton Hammer Crush!”, Groundramon called out.
It’s attack caused a dust cloud as it grinned cockily. It suddenly flinched as it felt it’s tail be grabbed. The dust dispersed to reveal Dynasmon holding its tail. It sweated nervously as Dynasmon swung it around by its tail as if it was weightless. It ended up crashing into some trees as it was swung before it was was thrown at a mountain.
In the human world...
“Oh, crap this guy means business!”, Miwa gasped as he hastily clicked the buttons.
Groundramon’s massive back hands outstretched out grabbing onto some trees, cushioning and stopping itself right before hitting the mountain.
“Woah! That was awesome Miwa!”, Izaki said as they noticed some kids crowding around.
“Your the guy fighting The Blaster?!”, one questioned.
“Yeah, this guy’s tough if I wasn’t careful he would instantly knocked out my Digimon. Though he has made it disoriented which isn’t good.”, Miwa replied.
“Avenge Sukamon, Miwa!”, Morikawa called out.
In the digital world...
Groundramon stumbled a bit as it tried to regain its bearings.
“Oh, so you will make this fun?”, Dynasmon questioned.
Groundramon growled angrily as it dug it’s way into the dirt. Dynasmon looked around for where Groundramon would strike. It stumbled a bit as fissures started forming in the ground.
“So, that’s your plan...”, Dynasmon said as it flew up.
In the human world...
“Dang it! Giga Crack missed! Though he is distracted!”, Miwa said as Morikawa, Izaki, and the kids cheered him on.
In the digital world...
Groundramon came up from behind Dynasmon and pinned it in its claws on its back trying to crush him.
“Scrap Claw! Get it because you’ll soon be scrap!”, Groundramon said.
Groundramon suddenly heard laughter as it noticed that Dynasmon’s health had barely dropped.
“Now way that impossible no Digimon could possibly survive my Scrap Claw?!”, Groundramon gasped as it squeezed tighter.
“Nice trick.”, Dynasmon said as it grabbed Groundramon arms and pried itself free.
Groundramon paled as Dynasmon looked back at him.
“However your tricks won’t work on me.”, Dynasmon said as it threw off Groundramon’s arms punched it hard sending it crashing down.
In the human world...
“Woah, it dealt that much damage from just a normal blow!? It took out over half Groundramon’s health!”, Izaki gasped.
“Mega Digimon really are strong! I can’t wait till Groundramon becomes a mega!”, Miwa said as he sweated nervously.
“How can he deal that much damage with a normal attack he must be cheating!”, Morikawa growled.
“I don’t know if I’ll be able to catch it off guard again. Which along with its flight makes Giga Crack useless. Scrap Claw barley did anything and he caught Megaton Hammer Cush.”, Miwa thought.
In the digital world...
Dynasmon hovered over where Groundramon crashed.
“Aren’t you going to get up? I held back so that attack didn’t instantly wipe you out.”, Dynasmon asked.
Groundramon struggled up glaring at Dynasmon.
“What the heck is with that freak?! He’s a data type I should have the advantage even if he is mega!”, Groundramon thought.
“Do you intend to continue fighting?”, Dynasmon asked as Groundramon growled.
“I’ll get you!”, Groundramon roared as it charged Dynasmon swinging its tail and claws at him.
“Hmm...my new master really is such a softy they want me to end this already. Though, I will admit your struggle does look quite pathetic so I understand putting you out of your misery. My master desires it so it shall be so!”, Dynasmon said as it then held out its hand in front of Groundramon.
“What the heck are you blabbing about your stupid shiny jerk!”, Groundramon yelled.
“You should be honored to receive this mercy from my master! Dragon’s Roar!”, Dynasmon called out as a beam of light hit Groundramon.
In the human world...
“Looks like I lost.”, Miwa slumped seeing Groundramon’s hp hit zero.
The kids walked off afterwards.
“Seriously, to think The Blaster has a mega maybe he will become number 1.”, Izaki said.
“Looks like that match has Kai fired up.”, Miwa said as he looked at Kai clicking his V pet with a a intense look which was kinda menacing.
Izaki sweat dropped as he looked towards Kai imagining a fiery aura around the brunette.
“Well, I wouldn’t want to be left in the dust. It’s time to train Tyrannomon!”, Izaki said.
“That Dynasmon really had quite the attitude...”, Morikawa grumbled.
“To be fair you can give your Digimon commands in battle but you can’t control what they say.”, Miwa replied.
Misaki lowered her book for a second as she heard their conversation.
