In which Rafe loosens his leash, but actions come with consequences.
Rafe told you to get dressed and to wait at the front of the house. Truthfully, you liked it better when Rafe picked out your outfits. That way, you knew exactly what looked good on you and that you wouldn’t make some kind of fashion faux pas. You decided on a pink fitted top, a matching skirt, and an adorable pair of brown boots Rafe bought you for Christmas. You completed your look with a bow at the top of your hair and an array of colorful bracelets you put on each arm.
You spent a while watching men in dark clothes walk the perimeter of the yard and through the forest on the sides of the property. At first, you were quite scared to see them, but Rafe explained that they worked for him. This led you to ask even more questions. Weren’t they cold out there? We should offer them some snacks? Could I make them cookies? Rafe shut down your curiosity quickly, emphasizing that you were not to say a word to any of them.
When the door to the enclosed porch opened, you expected to see Rafe. You closed your drawing book and turned your head to greet him. Instead, Rafe’s friend Barry greeted you. You’d heard them going back and forth all morning, usually, their conversations were tense, but you assumed they must’ve come to some type of agreement. At the sight of you, he smiled, flashing his gold tooth.
“Country Club’s little princess,” He sang, “How are you, baby?”
You smiled nervously, still not super used to being around others. It had been a few months now since Rafe brought you to Tannyhill and almost all of your social interaction had been with Rafe and Lana.
“I’m good, I . . . how are you?”
He walked in front of you, his hands behind his back as he looked you over, “Oh I’m just peachy. Whatchu got there?”
You glanced back towards the door, wondering if Rafe was far behind him. Looking back down at your lap, you said, “I was just drawing a little bit. Rafe told me to wait here–”
“Drawing, huh? You an artist?” Your eyes tilted back up to him.
“Not an artist,” You said quickly, “I just like to . . .”
“What kind of stuff do you draw?” He asked, and you sensed sincerity in his tone, “You know, I used to draw a lot when I was in school. Nothing serious, but I couldn’t help it; my mind would just wander, and then my paper would have a bunch of doodles on it.”
He kneeled down in front of you, and you hesitated for a moment before you opened the book. You showed him your page of doodles. You drew a lot of what you saw, including doodles of Rafe, and things you saw around Tannyhill, “That’s Lana, ain’t it?” You nodded, “Impressive. Most people ain’t good at drawing faces. Not you though.”
“Thank you,” You said, “You don’t draw anymore?”
He shook his head, “Not very often. I should.”
You agreed, “You should. Sometimes, Rafe will draw with me. Well, mainly we’ll color together. He likes it when there’s already a picture, so he doesn’t have to come up with it himself.”
“He’s pretty bad at it, anyways, ain’t he?” Unexpectedly, a giggle left your lips, and you raised your book to cover the bottom of your face.
“I should go look for him–” You made a move to escape, but Barry placed both his hands on the arms of your chair, effectively trapping you.
Barry hadn’t touched you, but you felt you might get in trouble just for laughing at his joke, “You don’t like my company or something?” You shook your head immediately.
“Sorry, that’s not what I meant . . .”
“You’re sweet; I can see why he likes you,” Barry held his eyes on you and you felt the skin on your face heat up with embarrassment, “You know, you ever get tired of him, or he pisses you off – which he will, then you can call me. We can run away together.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, “I don’t have a phone.”
Barry smirked at that, “Ask anyone on this island who Barry is, and they’ll point you in the right direction.”
Running away with Barry was the last thing you wanted to do. Rafe had his bad days but you hadn’t considered trying to leave. Barry also barely knew you but you decided to think positively. Afterall, Rafe trusted Barry. You assumed his intentions must be good, “Okay,” You agreed, “When you come back next, maybe you can show me some of your drawings.”
“You want to see them. Really?”
“Yes,” You said, “It’s only fair.”
Barry nodded, “You make a good point. I gotta come back soon and try more of your desserts. That cake you made … I ain’t tasted nothing better.”
“You have to,” You rushed out excitedly, “Rafe and Lana say everything I make is great, I can’t tell if they’re honest.”
“I’m as honest as they come, sweetheart,” You grinned at that, “A good friend is honest.”
“You want to be my friend?”
“I mean, only if you want me to.”
“I do.”
“Don’t tell Rafe though–”
Your conversation was interrupted when the poor door opened, and Rafe appeared, “Don’t tell Rafe what?” His gaze was sharp, and luckily, it was mostly directed at Barry. You watched as Barry stood and stepped back from you.
“Nothing man, we were just talking about about Kildare. You’re going to let me help show her around, right?”
Rafe’s brooding look turned to amusement, “She’s not gonna step foot on your side of the island. Thanks for the offer though.”
There was an awkward silence, and you felt some tension building until Barry finally said, “Alright, I’ll see you soon, Bambi,” You waved as he turned on his heel, “Rafe.”
Rafe watched as Barry walked out the front door before he held out his hand, summoning you. You hurried from your chair, moving in closer before you grabbed ahold of his hand. It was his cue to you that he would be leading you somewhere, and you were expected to follow.
“He touch you?” Rafe asked, leading you out the same door. You watched as Barry pulled around the horseshoe driveway in his sports car. He walked you to his large truck, opening the passenger door, “Bambi.”
“Uh …no,” You stared.
Suddenly, you were the furthest from Tannyhill’s front door than you’d ever been.
“Good, get in, Bambi.”
“I’m leaving . . . you’re leaving with me in the car? Your car? Right now? Today?”
“Yeah,” He said, unsure of himself, “Get in; I’m already starting to change my mind.”
You jumped in excitement, “Really? Where are we going?” Rafe helped you as you started to climb in. He leaned over you, fastening your seatbelt for you, “You aren’t taking me back, right?”
“No, sweet girl,” Rafe assured you, “As far as where we’re going, it’s a surprise.”
You couldn’t contain your excitement as you settled into your seat. As you pulled past the gates at the end of the long driveway and onto the road, you couldn’t help but feel like all your faith in Rafe had paid off.
“Who’s that, Daddy?” You asked, noticing a black car that had also pulled out of Tannyhill and was following closely behind.
“No one, Bambi,” He brushed your question off, “So, uh, what were you two talking about? You and Barry?”
Your eyes were focused on the huge trees that hung over the road, beautifully dripping green moss from it’s branches. Between the trees, you saw huge mansions with big gates and long drives just like Tannyhill.
“Drawing,” You said briefly, “He said he would show me some of his work.”
“He’s full of shit.”
You turned to Rafe who was gripping the wheel with one hand, “Daddy … I don’t like it when you curse.”
“Bambi, I–” He held his tongue, sighing before he reached over to place his other hand on your thigh, “I’m sorry, sometimes work makes me lose focus. What I mean is that Barry is my friend but … he likes to mess with me, you know? So he might say something to you knowing that it would bother me.”
“He seemed like he meant it,” You said, “Would it bother you if we were friends?”
“Guys and girls can’t really be friends,” Rafe explained, “Especially not with little girls like you, okay?”
“But why–”
“Because I’m telling you right now. I appreciate that you are kind to Barry but he wouldn’t be a good friend to you. If I’m going to protect you, and as your Daddy, I should have a say in who your friends are.”
You opened your mouth to argue but quickly shut it. It didn’t make much sense to you why men and women couldn’t be friends. Why would Barry offer to be your friend if it wasn’t appropriate? You supposed that you never had any male friends before, and most men you’d been around wanted a similar thing from you, “Maybe you’re right, Daddy.”
You drove over bridges with water on both sides of the road and through more neighborhoods with huge houses. Fifteen minutes into your drive, you arrived at an area with a grocery store and lots of stores that you assumed were also for shopping.
Rafe pulled his truck in front of one of the storefronts. You unbuckled your seatbelt, sitting up further in your seat so you could read the sign, “Fig . . uuure eight …ball …it.”
“Ballet,” Rafe corrected you, “Figure eight Ballet Company.”
Confusion spread over your features, “I looked into it; they have adult classes for beginners. I thought it might be something fun for you to do once a week.”
“Me?” You pointed to your chest, “Dance classes?”
“If you don’t want to, that’s okay,” Rafe rushed out, “It’s good exercise, and you can also do it at home. And it’s a chance to meet friends, friends that are girls, preferably.”
“Oh,” When you looked at Rafe, it seemed like he was desperately trying to read your expression, “I’d be so nervous. And I wouldn’t be good at it.”
“I think people just do it for fun and to learn something new. And I wouldn’t just leave; I would walk you in and pick you up. Not today; I just wanted to take you by and see what you thought.”
“... It could be really fun …”
“And you’d make quite the adorable ballerina.”
“Maybe I could try one class . . . and if I liked it, you would take me every week?”
“Every week, as long as you continue to be a good girl,” Your nervousness started to melt away into excitement the longer you thought about it, “And while we’re out, I thought we could do some shopping. My research has informed me you’re going to need shoes, tights, a leotard, and a skirt.”
You practically leaped over the center console to hug him, “Thank you, thank you, thank you, Daddy!”
Rafe pulled you in close, “Anything for you, sweet girl.”
Tumblr media
Rafe didn’t need to get his hands dirty anymore; he could hire people to protect him or kill for him. As he settled into his new life with you, he started to miss some of the adventures he experienced in his early 20s and late teens. There were no more brawls or treasures to steal. He hadn’t realized he needed an outlet for the negative energy that seemed to boil up inside of him sometimes. Now, what he knew is that he needed to keep that side of him as far away from you as possible.
Killing JJ would’ve satisfied that part of him that has been begging to come out of him for years. He would’ve felt a rush like no other, power and control that he hadn’t felt in so long. He hadn’t brought himself to do it yet, teetering on that line between sanity and insanity. The Pogue was always a good competitor, and Rafe wasn’t surprised that he was still fighting. Rafe liked that about JJ.
Still, Rafe wanted to see him break, and he was patient enough to wait for it.
“What would you do to see her again?” Rafe asked as he kneeled over JJ’s bruised and battered body.
The pogue coughed, and blood-spattered on the boat cabin’s floor.
The silent treatment followed, but Rafe was used to talking to himself, “I know she’s not over you, but how long do you think she’ll wait before she moves on? Six months? A year? I mean, she’s a wild one; I’m sure she won’t want to stick around this place for much longer.”
“Fuck you, Rafe,” JJ’s favorite words.
“Maybe you just don’t love her like I thought you did,” Rafe taunted, “I mean if you did, you’d be groveling at my feet, right?”
JJ’s eyes pinched tight as Rafe’s words sounded like nails on a chalkboard.
The silent treatment followed again, and Rafe considered what his next steps might be. Removing limbs? That could be fun for a while, but if he hadn’t surrendered at this point, what would make him crack?
“Fine,” Rafe looked down at his bloody knuckles, “I won’t bother you anymore today, but I do have something I want you to contemplate in your hours of silence. Consider the idea that I let you go, and you see Kie again instead of bleeding out here and your body being chopped into pieces. I want you to think, and I mean really think, about what you might do to make that happen. And don’t think of it as sacrificing your morals or making a deal with the devil … think of it as securing your future, okay?”
Rafe tapped his hand against JJ’s sore cheek before he stood and left. He heard no quippy comeback from the Pogue. At least Rafe had successfully beat that out of him.
Tumblr media
Rafe’s eyes snapped open and was awakened from his sleep when he felt a soft finger poking at his cheek, “Wha…” Groggily, he reached to turn on his bedside lamp and found you, dressed in a onesie that made you look like a brown bear,  standing beside his bed, a sniffling mess, “Hey, w-what’s wrong?”
Immediately, Rafe reached out to grab you, and you proceeded to climb onto his large bed, “I-I had a scary dream,” You hiccuped, “Y-You sent me away a-and I was alone again and Master he was so mad at me b-because I-I didn’t make you h-happy–”
Rafe shushed you, pulling you into him, “It wasn’t real, okay? Look, you’re here with me right now.”
“It felt real,” You whimpered, and Rafe’s lips pulled into a thin line of frustration. He wanted you happy, and he wanted to give you much more than you ever had, and it pained him that you thought he might hurt you in that way.
“I . . . I wouldn’t ever do that, Bambi,” He brushed tears from your cheeks and caressed your face, “I’d fu- … I’d rather die than let you go. And I’d kill anyone that tried to take you from me. Anyone, okay?”
“You’ve hurt people before,” It wasn’t a question; Rafe could see it was an observation she’d made.
“Yes,” He admitted, “But I haven’t hurt you, have I?”
“You saved me.”
Rafe nodded, “That’s right, sweet girl. I saved you. I’ve hurt people, yes,  but I-I’m not a cruel person. I wouldn’t do something like that. And you make me so happy.”
Rafe watched as you blinked away your tears and tried to stop yourself from frowning, “What if I don’t always make you happy?”
“You make me happy by breathing,” Rafe tried to assure you, “You’re smart and beautiful, and you deserve nice things. I never had anyone in my life that made me feel like I deserved anything. I never even felt like I deserved to be loved. I don’t want you to ever feel like that.”
“I love you, Rafe,” You were trying to reassure him now, and Rafe was grateful. He loved those words on your lips, and he felt in his heart that you meant them, “And . . . I like being loved by you. So much.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes,” Rafe felt you press your forehead against his before you pressed your lips softly against his, “Thank you . . . for everything. Uhm, did I scare you?”
“No, no,” Rafe’s mind was mostly on the thought of your lips, “I like being woken up by cute bears.”
Rafe pulled you in again for a kiss. Softly, your lips moved together, and Rafe explored your mouth with his tongue, slowly deepening the kiss. Rafe was already growing hard, and he cursed in his mind, frustrated by how easily you got him going.
“You still sore from earlier?” He asked.
“A little bit,” You spoke shyly, “You were kinda rough…”
Rafe thought back to you, bent over the arm of the couch, taking you deep, but that just made his cock ache even more.
“But I’ve trained that little hole well, haven’t I?” Rafe asked, pressing the length protruding from his boxers, against your stomach, “You can take more, okay?”
You nodded, although Rafe’s question was rhetorical. Rafe didn’t like you sad, but he certainly like seeing your teary face. Your pajamas were the cherry on top, including the convenient little flap on the back that allowed for easy access, “Turn around on your side, little girl,” Rafe commanded gruffly, “This will help you sleep.”
“Daddy…” You whined as you did exactly as Rafe ordered.
“Right here, not going anywhere,” Rafe pushed his crotch into your ass, bringing his lips close to your ear. He ground against you as he carefully pulled down the front zipper of your onesie. He needed to feel your nipples between his fingers, your breasts in his large hands. He also needed your pussy dripping for him, knowing he couldn’t fuck you when you were already sore without any lubrication. He reached into your onesie, finding your mound easily, and began to rub circles over your sensitive area, “Daddy needs you so badly.”
You squirmed, but you were tightly pressed against him. He teased you, moving back and forth from your clit to your breasts. He’d rub your breast until you were aching below, and when you started to feel close, he’d go back to teasing your nipples.
He got you to a point where you were so stimulated that you were already orgasming with three slow and deep strokes inside of you. You were convulsing around him, unable to contain your moans, but Rafe wrapped his hand around your mouth and continued to pump inside of you. It certainly wasn’t as rough as earlier, but Rafe could feel you squeezing him tighter, “You feel how happy you make me, Bambi?” Rafe grunted, “Daddy wouldn’t want to cum in any other pussy than yours — Jesus.”
Rafe finished inside of you. He hadn’t lost all of his energy, though, moving his hands back to your clit, as he filled you up. He didn’t stop until your legs were shaking and you were cumming again.
“Thank me.”
“Thank you, Daddy,” You spoke breathlessly.
Tumblr media
Now that your Daddy was allowing you out of the house, there were new rules for you to learn. Of course, you weren’t allowed to talk to strangers unless they were girls you met at dance class. You had to go by Y/N, Y/L/N, and Rafe had given you an ID to carry around when you couldn’t be together. If anyone asked who you were to Rafe, you could just say that you were his girlfriend and you’d moved in with him a few months ago. That wasn’t far from the truth, so you didn’t imagine that would feel like lying.
A few days after he showed you the ballet company, he let you tag along to run errands with him. For most of the time you sat in the car, watching him pump gas, stop at different businesses, and shake hands with men who seemed amused by every word Rafe said. You noticed people tended to stare at him, especially as the two of you walked through the grocery store together.
“Did people always stare at you like this?”
“They used to stare at my Dad; he used to be the King of this place,” You nodded, twirling the ribbon in your hair as Rafe pushed the cart along, “I don’t think people expected me to come back.”
“Well, since you’re Dad is gone. I guess you’re the King now,” You flashed him a smile.
“Maybe so,” Rafe conceded.
“Oooh, look!” You pointed at something in the refrigerated section that caught your eye, and your feet were already moving towards it. As soon as you pulled open the glass door, you felt Rafe’s strong hands around your bicep, stopping you. You whipped back to see eyes narrowed at you and his serious face.
“You can’t just run away from me like that,” He snapped, “Jesus . . . don’t do that, okay?”
“I’m sorry,” You squeaked, “I just saw . . . they have so many types of iced coffee. They have peppermint, and caramel and mocha-”
“Coffee isn’t good for you.”
“You let me eat sweets all the time, and those aren’t good for me,” The words came out before you could stop them. You couldn’t help but feel frustrated. Rafe offered you the world, but at the same time, he controlled so many aspects of it.
You’d pissed him off; you could immediately see it in his face. His hand still on your arm, Rafe leaned closer to you, “You’re going to stand right next to the cart for the rest of the time we’re in here, and you’re not going to say another word, okay? I don’t want to hear it.”
You let the door go just as Rafe let your arm go. You crossed your arms, knowing you had no other choice than to keep your mouth closed. Rafe didn’t have much to say after that, and you let him brood on his own.
You were standing near the fresh produce; Rafe was picking out the vegetables that Lana had written on the grocery list when you saw a woman approaching your cart. She had caramel skin and pretty curls that were tamed by a messy bun on top of her head. She was holding a small shopping basket, but she didn’t seem to have any care for any of the items inside as she stomped closer to the two of you, red in her eyes.
“Rafe Cameron!” She didn’t seem even to perceive you as she stared Rafe down. You watched his reaction closely and how his contempt quickly switched from you to her.
“Kie, long time no see,” He didn’t express much emotion other than through his eyes, making him appear stoic.
The woman, Kie, didn’t hide any of her emotions, “I know what you did.”
“What’s that?” Rafe tilted his head.
“You know what exactly I’m talking about,” She pointed a finger at him, tears in her eyes, “Your day is coming–”
He proceeded to talk over her, “Hey, let your Mom and pops know Cameron Development is still interested in working with them. I have the perfect property for their next restaurant. I mean, an absolutely gorgeous spot.”
“Fuck you, Rafe,” You covered your mouth in shock.
“It was nice catching up with you too, Kie,” He winked as the woman walked away.
You watched as Rafe’s hands squeezed into a fist and then how tightly they wrapped around the cart’s handle.
“Daddy-”
“Let’s go, Bambi.”
“Rafe-”
“I didn’t want to hear it before; I definitely don’t want to hear your mouth now. Let’s go.”
You bit your tongue and fell back into step with him. You supposed a king couldn't be loved by all his subjects.

“Just because we’re attracted to one another doesn’t mean we need to sleep together. I’m off that. Plus, we’re friends.”
Anvika prided herself on being a woman of self-control and discipline. Though it did not come easy, years of abstinence grew dreary and at times, very lonely, her hard work was not something she was willing to risk. Her decision to step into abstinence wasn’t one she took lightly, nor was it one that she planned, but once Anvika began the journey of healing from a heartbreak, intimacy with another man wasn’t the priority. Though that had been over four years ago and she was well over the situation, she could admit that while it was difficult to maintain her self-control, not having to worry about anyone’s snot-nosed son brought more peace than she could ever imagine.
“Even more of a reason to let it happen. Everything happens better when you have a solid foundation first. Everybody thinks you two are together anyways. He truly cares for you, in more ways than one.”
Anvika hummed and rolled her eyes as she brought the slender champagne fluke to her full lips. The liquid went smooth down her throat. She shrugged. “Then let them think that. Lewis is a good man, a good and attractive man, but…”
Her friend, Onyx, sighed and downed her drink with a wave of her hand. “I don’t know how you do it! I would’ve lost my mind by now. I commend you.” Onyx bowed playfully which pulled a light laugh from Anvika. Though she was joking, she couldn’t help but sense the truth behind her words.
Though swearing off men and intimacy had become a more common practice among women, many people found it taboo and unrealistic. She soon began to ponder--what if she’d never find anyone that could give her what she wanted because of how she chose to navigate her dating life? She shook it off internally. That would be a problem, but none that would be hers.
Before she got the chance to respond, her phone rang against the glass table that held their expensive lunch on it’s back. LH flashed across the screen. She smiled softly which caught the attention of Onyx, who gave a teasing smirk. For someone who was insistant on keeping a strong boundary between herself and her closest friend, she surely smiled like a fool whenever he called.
“I told you I have a lunch date with Onyx today,” she reminded the racer lowly, using her index finger to draw doodles in the condensation her water glass sweat off on the table. “Everything alright?”
“Everything’s fine, angel,” he spoke smoothly. “Just wanted to make sure you were still wanting to join me for the event on Friday.” Anvika hummed and nodded as though he could see her. He was attending a gala in London and of course, offered his plus-one to Anvika, as he had done since their friendship had begun years prior. What was his, was hers, including access to rooms and events that would grant her opportunities to further her career as a branding and marketing consultant.
“Yes,” she replied excitedly. “I still haven’t found a dress. What color are you wearing?”
There was shuffling in the background before he spoke again. “Blue. Don’t worry about it,  I’ll handle it.” Her heart fluttered. “Enjoy your lunch. Tell Onyx I said hello and call me later, alright?”
Anvika’s teeth trapped her bottom lip. “Alright. Talk soon.”
“Bye, love.”
Anvika turned her phone on its face and looked up, catching Onyx’s playful eyes. Her thick eyebrow touched her forehead. “Friends, right?” Anvika gave her a look. Onyx raised her hands in defense, “My bad, my bad.”
-
Lewis Hamilton was a gentleman. Sure, this was universal knowledge, but something about him being gentlemanly with her made her heart flutter and her stomach clench with desire. And it almost made her question Onyx’s point, “he truly cares for you; in more ways than one.” It’d typically be something she’d deny, but as she stood in front of the mirror with her hair done by a hairstylist he arranged to come, her nails done by a nail technician he’d flown out, and a dress he arranged to be custom-made to suit her body, how could she deny it any longer?
“Don’t think too deeply into it,” she scolded herself, slipping out of her robe. She walked toward her dress, pulled it off the hanger, and carefully slipped into it. “You’re friends. Close friends who care for one another. That’s it, that’s all.”
They met at the paddock six years prior. She was invited to her first Formula One race through her consultant agency, which took her team on an all-expense paid trip for their hard work. She wasn’t aware of Formula One, just of familiar names. Then, at the end of the match, she had the chance to put a face to the infamous name of Lewis Hamilton.
“You raced well,” Anvika noted, taking in the slightly disheveled appearance of the raceman. “I’ve never been to a Formula One race; good job on giving me a reason to come back one day.”
The man’s eyebrow raised in interest. He crossed his arms over his chest, his muscular build on display. “Is that so?”
Anvika nodded.
“We can make that happen whenever you want.”
It was Anvika’s turn to raise an eyebrow. A smirk played on her lips. “Is that so? Tryna be my friend, Lewis?”
He shrugged his shoulders. Friends wasn’t too bad. Anything to get to know her. “Any man would be a fool to refuse that opportunity, Anvika.”
That marked the beginning of an inseparable union.
Anvika continued to mumble and grumble, doing whatever she could to keep her mind eased. Her self-conversations were halted by a knock on her door. Lewis. “Coming!” Holding her dress to her chest. She turned the doorknob, and the familiar scent of his cologne filled her nose. “Are you…oh. Oh.”
Closing the door behind him, Lewis’ eyes were trained on her, the most beautiful woman he’d laid eyes on. The dress, complementary to his suit, was perfectly designed and tailored to her. She was a fan of long-sleeved dresses, so that’s what she got. It was constructed with a heavy, luxurious velvet material and it hugged every riff, edge, and curve on her body. The neckline showed the swell of her breasts and her beautiful collarbone. The mermaid-like tail further accentuated her shape.
Her hair was parted to the side and curled to perfection. The makeup complimented her features--thick eyebrows, full lips, and a round nose. And her scent, goodness, it suffocated him. The jasmine and almond notes filled his nostrils and he wanted to nuzzle his face in her neck and inhale like she was the air he needed to breathe.
“You look beautiful,” Lewis managed to speak. His voice was so low that she almost didn’t hear his compliment. With a bashful smile, she thanked him and led him to her room where she wandered toward the bathroom, which had a series of jewels across the counter. “Help me pick a necklace?”
Anvika turned to face the jewelry and fought hard to ignore the heat that radiated from Lewis’ body as he moved to stand behind her. From over her shoulder, his eyes followed the line of jewels the stylists brought. His eyes landed on a silver necklace; a thin chain with a multi-carat teardrop diamond. “This one.”
Lewis took the necklace in his hands and placed it around her neck. Anvika lifted her hair to grant him easy access and shivered as his cool fingertips brushed against her skin. She inhaled deeply. “Stunning.” His breath was warm against her neck. They locked eyes in the mirror ahead of them. The tension was thick. Suffocating. His brown eyes, usually so full of love and warmth, were filled with something she couldn’t quite identify, but it made her body heat like wildfire.
“I’m ready,” she announced, careful not to let her voice waver. She turned, purposefully ignoring the groan he released when she brushed against him. Her lips quivered as she tried to give a steady smile. What the hell was happening between them? Anvika placed her hands on his chest and soothed the non-existent wrinkles on his suit jacket. He was so handsome. “You look great, darling.”
“Thank you…” his words came out as a whisper. He was too distracted by her. Six years of friendship and what he felt from the time he met her at the paddock all those years ago had reached a breaking point. He’d boiled over.
Anvika tried to smile as she pressed a kiss against his cheek, but with how he reacted, her lips landed at the corner of his lips. She took a step back. “Let’s get ready to go, yeah?”
Lewis swallowed thickly. He held his arm out for her, which she grabbed instinctively, and together, they were out the door with a million and one thoughts swimming between them.
-
“And that beauty you’ve brought?” an older man questioned Lewis, who had his eyes on Anvika as she danced through the siloes of people in the room. The gala was nothing short of a popularity function, a random event on a random weekend for the host to flaunt their money and connections, Truthfully, his desire to attend dwindled once he saw her in that dress. She was the only thing on his mind.
“Anvika Dawson,” Lewis said, nodding in her direction. “One of the best branding and marketing consultants in the industry. She’s amazing at everything she does. You’ve got a business, don’t you?” And that’s why he was a good friend, Anvika noted as she began to walk over, hearing him advocate for her in front of the man.
“You flatter me,” she said with a smile as she took a position under Lewis’ arm, which slid around her waist. “Anvika Dawson, nice to meet you.”
The older man, who had went by the nam Eli, shook her hand firmly and nodded in interest. “Well, pardon me, but the two of you would make a wonderful couple.” The young adult chuckled lightly; the comment was nothing new to them, but it seemed to bring them both discomfort given the fact that they had a very intimate moment just an hour before their arrival. Before Lewis could speak up, Anvika thanked the man sweetly then they were whisked in another direction.
They were joined together at the hip for the remainder of the evening. And, on the rare occasion that they were apart, they stole glances from across the room like teenagers in a romantic sitcom. Soon, the event wrapped up and they were in the backseat of the car, sitting in a thick silence.
Anvika sat at the right of the car, her knees turned inward and her legs crossed. With every bump in the road and swerve of the car, the tip of her heel brushed against Lewis’ leg. His breath hitched. She said nothing.
The car came to an abrupt stop and the doors were opened for them. Before her foot could touch the ground, Lewis’ hand was awaiting. “Thank you,” Anvika said softly, and allowed him to guide her into the hotel.
He still hadn’t said much. The walk to the elevator was quiet, yet, he hadn’t let go of her hand. What was he thinking about? If it was the sudden shift in their interactions, it didn’t go unnoticed by her either.
The elevator doors peeled open and Lewis guided her in. He pressed the button, 10, that would send them to the floor their rooms were on. The elevator ride seemed slow as each ding indicated they’d entered another floor.
Anvika cleared her throat and decided to speak up, “I enjoyed tonight. And again, you looked great. I love blue on you.”
He couldn’t remember what happened between her compliment, her back against the elevator wall, and his lips on hers.  The only thing that forced him to key in was her hands pressing against his abdomen and his name falling from her lips. “Lewis…” What he’d heard time and time again in his dreams had finally become a reality. His stomach churned; could he get her to say it again? “What are you…” She cut herself off when she fell victim to the wonderful feeling of his lips against her jaw.
“I just…” Lewis settled his face in her neck. “One night, Vi. Let me have one night with you…” Her heart pounded in her ears. What the hell was happening?
“Lewis…” Her hand slipped and fell just above his belt. She extended her arm just slightly. “We can’t do this. I-I don’t want to mess up our friendship and you know I’m not going all the way with anyone--”
Lewis hummed. His eyes sat low as he looked at her. She looked completely worn out as if he’d done to her what he truly wanted. Her forehead glistened with sweat, her lipstick was smeared, and her chest heaved. “Nothing will change for the worse, angel. And I don’t want to go there with you, just want to make you feel good…always have.” His left arm circled around her waist and his large hand palmed her backside. She whimpered. “Can I?”
“Someone might see...”
He ignored her. “Can I make you feel good?” His tone was stern as he repeated his question. Suddenly, the gala was out of her mind and the only thing that clouded her thoughts was him. Him and him only. Lewis Hamilton had infiltrated her mind and she finally stopped fighting it.
The elevator dinged. “Yes…”
-
“Should I…?” her hands reached for the necklace that shone beneath the dim lights of the hotel suite. Lewis shook his head and peeled his jacket off his shoulders, revealing a crisp white wife beater. He shed that too. Anvika’s breath hitched. “Keep it on. Lay back for me, angel.”
Anvika looked like an angel surrounded by the comforter. Her undergarments were long discarded, save for her underwear which he kept in the pocket of his pants. The pure white of the sheets were a stark contrast to the richness of her complexion. Her hair was sprawled against the pillow with a few strands covering her face lazily. The look on her face was one of comfort, relief in one way or another.
She welcomed Lewis’ body between her legs as he crawled on the bed and his lips against hers as he hovered above her. For the first time that night, Anvika’s hands didn’t tremble when she touched him. She welcomed the feeling of every ridge of muscle, every raised scar, and every mature tattoo.
Their hands moved frantically over each other’s body, and it felt amazing. She hadn’t realized how touch deprived she was until she heard his chuckle in her ear. Her face warmed. She felt like a teenager. “It’s okay…” his lips ghosted against the shell of her ear. “Make all the noise you want.”
Anvika didn’t respond--her mouth wouldn’t allow her to. As Lewis moved down her body, she sat on her elbows, watching and waiting. God, he was so handsome like this. His head was dipped between her thighs and his tattooed glistened under the dim lights. Slowly, he lips created an intentional trail from her belly down to the treasure just centimeters away from his mouth.
Her fingers clawed at the bedsheets as the anticipation rose. She was becoming impatient. He was giving attention to every other place except where he wanted her. She huffed. “Lewis…”
He hummed, clearly unbothered by her frustration. He glanced at her, “Yes?” She whimpered. “Talk to me.” He was amused, very amused. She was desperate for him. It was evident by the way her arousal seeped onto the bed. He gathered some on his fingers, using it as a lubricant as he finally began to touch her.
Anvika gasped. His movements were slow and meticulated but they were enough to set her over the edge. He brought his lips to hers again, which she accepted sloppily. Her jaw fell slack as he continued to work her to her first release of the night. It came quickly, quicker than she would have liked. When his fingers hit that spot within her, her hips jerked and she squeaked his name.
Lewis chuckled, “That’s it?” He prodded that spot again. “Right there?” Anvika nodded. He removed his fingers. She groaned in frustration, “Lewis, please!”
“Please what?” He brought his fingers to his lips and moaned at the taste of her on his tongue. If this was just the beginning, he couldn’t imagine how mad he’d go in the coming moments. “Tell me what you want.”
She clocked it. He wanted her to beg. Anvika wasn’t the begging type. She may have been far removed from having sex, but she always got her way, especially with Lewis. Her hands trailed down the muscular planes of his stomach. Her fingers hooked in his belt and pulled him forward. Her fingers curled around his neck and her nails toyed with the faded hair there. She brought her smeared lips to his ear, her tongue dancing against the shell of it. He shudder. “I want you to make my legs shake and rock my world. Can you do that, Lewis?”
Her voice. The way her voice dropped in octave but increased in seduction had his head spinning. There were a few moments of silence as he fought hard to gather himself and the more she spurred him on, the most difficult it became. But then, she heard it, “Yes…”
-
“Right there, right there! Oh my…” He was a lover of music. Being in a studio, creating melodies to go with lyrics, was his favorite pastime. But this took the cake. She created her a song better than he could have ever imagined, and was it addicting.
Her moans, cries, and screams were melodic and his name was the only lyric she knew. He hated repetition in music, but loved hearing hers. So addicting. So well created. So beautiful.
Her legs trembled around his head and her hands were buried in his braids. He fought the urge to bend her over when she whispered out the faintest, “Baby, please…” She’d used terms of endearment before, but in this context, it was different. “I’m close!”
Her body, damp with sweat and covered in bruises created by his mouth, jumped and jolted as she grew closer to her peak. Lewis sat up, replacing his tongue with his highly skilled fingers. He used his arm to stabilize his body as he hovered over her. What a sight.
Her hair was completely sweated out, pooped and frizzy at the roots. Her makeup stained the pillows and her lips were swollen from her biting and his intense kisses. Her neck was dark with love bites. Her eyelids were hooded but he could see the fire behind her eyes. If only he could capture her and keep the picture in his pocket forever.
“Doing so well for me,” he whispered, kissing against her cheek and jaw. His fingers made quick work of the huddle of nerves between her legs. “Taking it like a good girl.” Her moans grew louder, higher in pitch, and full of air. It was becoming too much—her hands pushed against his arm, trying to run. “Don’t run now. Isn’t this what you wanted?”
“Lewis, I’m—“ she cut herself off with a high pitched scream that seemed to ring on forever. Lewis chuckled lightly and worked her through her orgasm. “That’s it, baby.” Her body shook as she tried to come down calmly.
He spent a few minutes between her legs, caressing her gently as an act of comfort. Her loud noises had diminished to soft whimpers as she came down from cloud nine. When she finally opened her eyes again, he asked, “You okay?”
She was better than okay. Though they didn’t cross all the lines, Anvika had gotten the best orgasm she’d received in her life from a man’s mouth and hands. She’d deal with the consequences later, but in that moment, she felt amazing.
She nodded and smiled lazily. “I’m okay. Are you…do you want me to…?” Her eyes fell to the evident bulge that strained against his pants. He shook his head.
“I’m okay. Let’s get you cleaned up…”
-
What was supposed to be a shower to clean her up resulted in her on her knees giving him the most intense release he’d experienced in months. It left him panting, shaking, and whimpering like it was his first time all over again.
Once again, she looked angelic with her now curly hair flat against her back and big brown eyes staring at him as she worked him like the expert she was. He came in her with with a groan, his fingers in her hair. She stood to her feet, smiling innocently as she showed him there was no remnant of him left in her mouth.
“You’re nasty,” he announced, grabbing her jaw to place a sloppy kids on her lips.
“Mhmmm, just the way I like it.”
They migrated to her bed shortly after, laying together in a comfortable silence. Anvika’s head was against his bare chest and herfingers traced the tattoos on his body. Lewis’ arm was around her waist and his hand massaged her plump bottom.
They were tired, exhausted even. But, they fought sleep like children, internally afraid of what the morning would bring. All actions had consequences whether good or bad. It was a mutual hope that what they’d done wouldn’t bring on the latter.
“Lewis?” Anvika called after some time.
“Yes, angel?”
“Are we gonna be okay?” Her voice trembled slightly. They’d crossed a line--a big one. She had wobbled on her boundaries. There was a lot to discuss and a lot to consider. It was an amazing experience, she couldn’t lie, but her biggest fear was that she’d lose him as an important person in her life if reality didn’t set in the way they intended.
Lewis gave her a squeeze and brought his lips to her forehead. Sensing her worry, he reassured, “We’ll always be okay.” And she believed it.

Hello! I finally figured out how to request from you! I live in Australia so it was hard to find the correct times and days. I literally stayed up all night just so that I can request something *crying for the need to sleep*.
Anyway, can I request either Odin, Thor and Loki with a female Hiccup Reader from 'How to Train your Dragon' and having children.
Or Poseidon breeding NSFW with a female human reader who loves the ocean and sea life (bonus with their first meeting where he sees reader chasing some delinquents away with a baseball bat).
Anyway, I'm going to crash and sleep any minute now, so... Love your work!
This wasn’t going to be this long, but I couldn’t stop once I got started :3
Minors DNI
-It was very rarely that a human caught Poseidon’s attention. Kojiro had been one of the first, after he managed to defeat the lord of the seas, and when he came back, he was ‘nicer’ to Kojiro, compared to other humans, as he had earned Poseidon’s respect.
-As all those who fell in Ragnarok were given their lives back, wished back by a selfless human, Poseidon did have to admit, only to himself, that not all humans were bad.
-So, when you caught his eye when he was walking along one of his beaches in his realm, chasing some teenagers with a baseball bat, “You bastards!! Pick up your mess! You’re gonna kill more wildlife with your trash!!”
-Hearing you defending the sea and its wildlife so much did surprise him, before he saw a pile of garbage, left by the teenagers who were running, laughing at they didn’t care.
-You huffed, giving up the chase and Poseidon watched as you went back to the trash and pulled out a bag, cleaning up the mess yourself, muttering under your breath.
-Poseidon sought out the teenagers first, who were laughing, thinking it was funny that you got so mad. As he appeared behind them, his voice low and dangerous, “What are you doing to my domain?” they were not expecting to see Poseidon himself there, glaring down at him.
-They were quickly screaming, hugging onto each other as Poseidon put the fear of… well him into them, teaching them a lesson they soon wouldn’t forget before kicking them out of his domain.
-When he returned to you, the mess was all cleaned up, deposed of properly and you had washed your hands, returning to your own bag on the beach, and you were sketching in a notebook, sitting in the sand with your feet buried, your baseball bat sitting beside you.
-He approached you and you turned, hearing the footsteps and you were surprised to see Poseidon himself there before he spoke, “Thank you human- for cleaning up the mess of those scum. They won’t be bothering my domain again.”
-You questioned, for like a half a second, if he had killed them, as you knew that Poseidon was known for being brutal when he wanted to be before you smiled up at him, stunning him with the warmth behind it, “It’s no problem- I can’t stand it when others make a mess of nature!”
-He knew of humans who did try to help, but those who didn’t care far outweighed those who did, but to actually meet one, to see your determination to at least try, it made a very soft smile appear on his lips.
-He kneeled beside you in the sand, looking at your sketchbook, seeing various pictures of wildlife from seagulls to turtles and a few shells as well as some doodles, but his attention quickly went back to you.
-There was something about you- something new. He couldn’t tell you what exactly, but there was a pull, as he reached out with both hands, after putting his trident down, cupping your cheeks, making them warm and color, “I should reward such an honorable human~”
-You’re not sure what was happening, but you welcomed his advances, feeling the same odd pull he was, and he leaned in, kissing you deeply.
-Your sketchbook and pencil fell to the sand as he leaned over you, forcing you to tilt your head up as you whined softly as he stole your breath away, kissing you so deeply.
-Your soft sounds were clouding his mind, he felt like he was drowning in you, but he wanted to- he wanted more!
-He quickly stood, pulling you with him, easily pulling you into his arms, your legs going around his waist which made him shivering lightly as you kissed him back, tongues dancing together as your breaths both turned ragged.
-With a flick of his wrist, you, him, his trident, and your belongings were all suddenly in a room, his private bed chambers. He wanted you there and now, but he wasn’t willing to do it on the sand- he was not going to deal with sand in places they shouldn’t be!
-Once your back met the mattress he grinded his hips against your own, feeling his throbbing cock against your own core and your back arched, breaking the kiss with a whine as you bit your bottom lip.
-Clothes were quickly shed, exposing your body to Poseidon- he could see scars adorning your body, but instead of being disgusted, he found them beautiful, his lips trailing across them, seeing them as badges that you earned, no matter how you got them.
-Your hands met his hair, finding it soft as your nails scratched against his scalp, pulling a deep groan from his own lips which made your back arch, you had never heard such an alluring sound before.
-This was something passionate, you had never met this man before, but you couldn’t stop, you didn’t want to stop, and neither did he- he wanted this- he wanted you, all of you! Neither of you could explain the heat or these strange feelings between the two of you, but it didn’t matter- it felt too good.
-Poseidon was definitely the dominate one in bed, holding your hair in his hand as he forced you to swallow his cock over and over, feeling your hands on his thighs as you huffed through your nose. You gazed up at him through teary eyes which made him buck up, sending him deeper. You choked only for a moment before swallowing him again, sucking and massaging him with your lips which made him throw his head back, “Gods human- you- umfph!” he couldn’t speak as you hollowed your cheeks again, making him moan so pretty for you again.
-He hadn’t known such an attentive lover before, someone who was willing to pleasure him willing, not just because he told you to.
-Your tongue swirled around his tip as he felt his head go back, feeling his release coming, huffing down at you, you smirked up at him, surprising him, “Cum for me, my King~” your words, your teasing- he quickly grabbed your face, a hand on either side and forced you down on him as he came, forcing you to swallow it.
-You pulled back, licking at your lips and he couldn’t help but smirk, “Minx!” you grinned up at him, feeling so bold as you managed to capture the tip in your mouth again, making him buck before he grabbed you, pulling you back, holding your hair again, glaring down at you. He hadn’t known humans to be so promiscuous!
-His fingers felt so good against your own opening, joining his tongue as he tried to drown himself on you, pleasuring you with his tongue.
-You were gripping the sheets, your back arched as your eyes were crossing, it felt so good, “Poseidon- please- I’m so- ngh! So-so close!” he stroked that special place, so deep inside of you, pulling back, licking his lips like a hungry beast, “Oh~ so close already? Very well- let’s see what you look like when you cum.”
-His words made your veins feel like fire as he went harder, stroking deep inside of you and you felt your vision going white as you cried out- at least you felt like you cried out, as you spasmed around him.
-He smirked down at you, seeing you coming undone- you looked so good like that, he wanted to make you do it again and again and again, licking his lips.
-When he first entered you, holding your head down to the sheets as he entered you from behind, holding your hips up with one hand, your elongated moan swelled his ego, even more than it had been, he was just so big!
-You were so tight around him, sucking him in perfectly as you gripped the sheets, his hands gripping at your hips as he pounded deeply into you, driving cries from your lips with each thrust.
-He watched your ass bounce with his movements, watching the flesh dance below it as he gripped it, spreading your cheeks, making you whine as he stared at where the two of you were joined.
-The sight was so alluring, seeing your slick coating his cock, a milky ring covering his cock which made him go harder and harder, making your cries grow in volume as you threw your head back, “Poseidon ohh~~” he slapped your ass, once then twice, so both your cheeks were turning colors, “That’s not my name at the moment Y/N!”
-You whined, the slight pain feeling so good as you stretched out your hands, “My King!” you were rewarded for your correct answer by him moving hips even faster. You could feel your orgasm quickly coming, he was hitting every spot inside of you that was making you feel stars.
-He hissed through his teeth, brushing his hair back out of his eyes, feeling you tighten around him as he gripped your hips, not caring if they were going to leave bruises as something new swelled inside of him.
-You felt so perfect around him, so tight and warm- he never wanted to leave you. You weren’t going to leave him. You were perfect- you were going to stare here forever with him!
-He thrusts became brutal until he felt you clench hard around him, your body going limp as he tried to enter as deep as possible, emptying himself inside of you.
-You felt his head on your back, his soft hair tickling you slightly as you both gasped for air. You had never felt this way before- it felt amazing!
-He pulled out slowly, listening to you whining from overstimulation and he watched his love gush out of you as you whimpered softly- you felt so full, but you felt so delicious at the same time.
-He pressed a kiss to your back, trailing up as your body relaxed, laying down on the bed before he brushed your hair from your face, kissing your cheek softly, “You get five minutes- I’m going to keep filling you until I properly breed you and you carry my child.”
-You clenched around nothing at his words, your eyes wide as he moved to stand, pulling on a robe to get you both some water to drink.
-It didn’t matter to him if you could get pregnant or not, he was going to continue breeding you, over and over if he had to. You couldn’t help but smile, looking forward to it.

𝑶𝑵𝑳𝒀 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑲 𝑶𝑭 𝑴𝑬 | 𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭
synopsis: dalton doesn't have the guts to make a move on the cute sorority girl that he's been stalking since orientation, but the demonic entity constantly peering over his shoulder does.
warnings: probs 17+ (just to be careful), stalking, obsessive behavior, paranormal type-shit, reader is stupid and also hot (think jennifer from that scene in jennifer's body where she's flirting with the band), the smallest hint of somnophilia, demonic possession, identity theft (lol), extremely dubious consent, dalton is definitely a little ooc, written with afab!reader in mind, y/n gets referred to as a girl.
a/n: title ripped from the ghost song. i love me some goth masked men. forgot the name of the frat so i just made one up. also, i just imagined a random dark spirit possessing his body, not the one explicitly shown in the film. but you guys do whatever you want. also, this is probably really cringy. I wrote most of it on 🍃 and didn't bother to proofread.

Dalton’s favorite hobby was a tricky thing. How could he bring himself to tell Chris or anyone else in his life that the first thing he wanted to do after a long day of classes was shut off all of the lights in his dorm and count back from ten until his spirit was standing over your bed, watching you sleep?
How could he ever come up with an answer for how he somehow knew every last intimate detail about you despite never having spoken to you a single day in his life?
The easiest solution was to keep his hobby a dirty little secret right up until he graduated and moved a million miles away from campus. It’s not like he could ever look you in the eye anyway—the cute little sorority girl who approached him shyly during orientation and asked him to help carry a mini-fridge up the staircase of the Kappa Delta house. You were all glitter and smiles and infectious laughter and ignoring you was like trying to ignore sunlight. It just wasn’t done.
Dalton hadn’t smiled since long before the funeral, but you coaxed one from his lips like it was the easiest thing in the world. It was impossible for him to up and forget something like that, especially when, as he went to wipe the sweat from his clammy palms, there was pink glitter plastered across the lap of his jeans. You effortlessly infiltrated every aspect of his life, pumping through his veins like some drug he couldn’t name. His entire world revolved around you and the best part about it was that you didn’t have the faintest clue.
Watching you was more of an addiction than a hobby to Dalton. Not in person, god. Never. The last thing he ever wanted to do was freak you out—to scare you. But what was the harm in flinging his backpack across the floor, shutting off all the lights, and letting his spirit travel to your room on the second floor of the Kappa Delta sorority house? He wasn’t hurting anyone by sitting on the corner of your bed while you flipped through your homework booklets and nibbled on the tips of your perfectly polished fingernails.
Dalton’s favorite moments were when he caught you in deep sleep, tossing and turning in one of those silky little numbers that he instantly grew to love. You had them in every color, alternating throughout the week. They hugged you in such a dangerously perfect way, riding up over your plush thighs as you mumbled under a thick blanket of dreams. He made a home for himself in the furry pink armchair across from your bed (when it wasn’t stacked high with laundry, that is), treating himself by watching you breathe. It was mesmerizing how the fabric would ripple across your body while your chest rose and fell with each shallow breath.
It only took a few days for that guilty pleasure to bleed into his weekly routine. Dalton only realized things were starting to get out of hand when he found himself drawing you.
Doodles on the corners of his syllabi turned into sketches in his notebook, which eventually turned into 24x30 charcoal portraits that took up most of the wall space in his dorm room. Art was his second nature and as soon as he returned from one of his nightly haunts, he was powerless to control the charcoal nub that somehow found its way into his hand. Dalton had to immortalize you on paper. Otherwise, he would have no choice but you seek you out in the dead of night over and over again until your image was burned into the back of his eyelids.
A full week after he first saw you during freshman orientation—informative sorority flyers stacked tall in your arms, barely hiding the Greek letters stamped across the front of your cropped shirt—he turned in his very first sketch of you for an art critique. Professor Amagan was pleasantly surprised by his change in subject matter. Goodbye bloody red door, hello sleeping beauty.
She had wanted to pin it up in the showcase at the front of the arts building but the thought of you ever stumbling upon it made a fiery hot wave of mortification spill over Dalton’s entire body. What would you even say to a lifesize portrait of your own sleeping body drawn by someone you’ve never spoken to before? He would count himself lucky if he wasn’t expelled on the spot.
Dalton hastily accepted his passing grade and shoved the charcoal drawing to the very bottom of his portfolio, never to see the light of day again. Unless, of course, he was cram-studying for midterms and couldn’t afford the time to go and visit you. In this instance, he would lock his door and prop you up beside his desk to steal quick glances at while he worked. But it never sated that itch inside of him—the one that reared its head when he caught the faintest ribbons of your perfume in the air as he marched through the courtyard with his head down.
Dalton wasn’t proud of himself. Not for this, anyway. White hot shame burned at his heart whenever he caught your eye from across the dining hall or the library by accident. You were forbidden fruit on campus—the sweetheart of the most powerful fraternity and the stuff of everyone’s dreams besides. He should have felt forever guilty for stealing your private moments for his own pleasure. But fuck if you didn’t make it so hard for him to quit.
Tonight, like every other night this week, Dalton flicked off his bedside lamp and yanked the nightlight out of the wall, plunging the room into thick and heavy blackness. He counted back from ten until he no longer felt the weight of his physical body holding him down, then blinked his eyes open to see a world illuminated with an otherworldly faint blue light.
The walk to sorority row only ever felt like seconds. The spirit realm was like a highway in that sense. He slipped through the front door of the Kappa Delta house like a ghost. He was a ghost. And you were his all-time favorite haunt.
You were already asleep when he crept to the door at the end of the hallway with your name plastered across the frame in glittery bubble letters. You always went to sleep with your desktop lava lamp flipped on. It painted your face in a warm glow as you slept and Dalton couldn’t help but wonder if maybe you were just as afraid of the dark as he was. The thought coaxed a pleasant shiver down his spine. Maybe you were just waiting for someone like him to come around and tear that fear to shreds.
Your face was buried in your arms, one leg hiked up to your waist over the sheets. A massive sleepshirt clung to your frame, slipping off of one shoulder just enough to highlight the fact that you weren’t wearing anything underneath.
Dalton bristled at the sound of something soft and light floating through the air and reached down to pull the pair of boxy headphones off of your ears, cupping one side close to his face.
♫ “In the silence of your room, In the darkness of your dreams, you must only think of me, there can be no in-between.” ♫
You rolled over, limbs twitching with a sleepy moan as you subconsciously turned your back to the light. Dalton shook his head with a quiet chuckle, folding the headphones and setting them down on your bedside table. You shouldn’t go to sleep with your music so loud, he silently chastised you. It wasn’t good for you. But he honestly would have said anything to make this feel right—to relieve himself of even just an ounce of the guilt he felt for standing there above you in your most vulnerable state.
He liked to think that you felt him there watching over you like some sick and twisted guardian angel. Maybe you actually took notice of all of the little things that he did for you when you weren’t even aware that he was in the room. Killing spiders, plugging in your phone when you were too sleepy to do it yourself, hiding contraband before the Kappa chapter president barged for a room sweep.
Dalton didn’t want to believe that someone could be so effortlessly and unknowingly perfect every single moment of their life. But here you were, leaning into his touch when he failed to fight the urge to stroke your jaw with the edge of his knuckle. A shaky breath shivered past his lips in response to your sleepy exhale.
You were so pliant. So defenseless. Swallowing thickly, Dalton took his opposite hand and brushed a flat palm over your exposed thigh, watching with sick fascination as goosebumps rose across your flesh in the wake of his gentle touches. He simply couldn’t help himself, only flinching when your face screwed up in that adorable way that it always did when someone dared to deny you of something you wanted.
Dalton paused with his hand outstretched toward your body, a sudden tidal wave of realization washing over him. God, I am such a creep.
 “Jesus Christ,” he whispered before realizing he’d spoken out loud and slapping a hand over his own mouth. He never knew if you could hear him when he passed between the realms like this, but just to be sure he always made a point of never saying anything until he was back in his own body.
You shifted again, pulling the blanket up over your chin to ward off the sudden chill that crept into your room.
What am I doing?
I need to get the hell out of here.
Dalton never considered quitting his little addiction cold turkey. But whatever spell you had put on him for the last few months had finally run its course and he was going to take back whatever semblance of dignity he could before it was too late.
The walk back to his dorm felt decades-long and he took the time to mull over everything in his head, searching for any way to make himself feel right about this. But it was hard to do anything other than mourn the loss of what had quickly become his saving grace while he navigated this new phase of his life. Portals and demons meant nothing to him as long as he could watch you sleep, knowing that he would be there to ward off anything that tried to hurt you.
Dalton stopped dead in his tracks outside his door. It had slid open with ease but the tension in the air was so thick that the thought of crossing the threshold made his blood run cold. His body was there, right in the corner where he left it earlier that night.
Only…hadn’t he been lying down in bed when he left to visit you? Why was his body now halfway across the room? And why was it moving?
“What the fuck?” he breathed, drawing out each syllable as he watched it blink. The eyes of his physical body shifted to an inky black for just a split second—he saw it—before they melted right back to blue. Dalton watched frozen in the doorway as the entity inhabiting his body glanced down to inspect the hands of its new vessel, turning them over to study his palms before squeezing them into tight fists.
Satisfied, its gaze fell to the doorway where he stood in spirit. It couldn’t see him, not truly. But it could still smell the horror oozing from him through the hole he had torn between the realms.
“Hey!” Dalton barked, but his voice was an echo that barely reached his own ears. It bounced off of the empty space all around him. The demon compelled his body forward, walking to the mirror on the other side of the dorm and leaning all of its weight against the glass. “That’s—hey!”
It combed a hand through its hair—his hair—and ran a slack hand over the bottom half of its face. An inhuman smirk grew over its lips and Dalton shivered as it made direct eye contact with him through the mirror, testing his voice like it had gone eons without a set of lungs to force its words through.
“You’re pathetic.”

your soul design is so yumilicious I need all the details now on my dinner plate
fr tho I want to know all the soul design lore how did you create such a creature /vpos
OKOKOHHHHHHOKOK BUCKLE IN. YOU’RE GONNA GET THE FULL DESIGN PROCESS
I struggled the most with Soul ngl. I couldn’t really think of anything I could add that would differentiate him from the fanon standard. I’m a lil upset I couldn’t think of something more original, but nonetheless he turned out quite lovely !!!
Tumblr media
I started with the color picking. I was very insistent on making everyone’s colors proportional to eachother. The main colors should have (about) the same saturation/brightness, contrasting colors that are the exact opposite hue of the main color, respective black/grey/white values (soul’s ‘grey’ color is more teal bc color theory but yea), shit like that i guess. The final palette is on the right, it’s what I use today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soul never got fully fleshed out concept sheets like the other two. I guess my brain just filled in the rest of the gaps without having to draw them. (I apologize for never finishing these btw. It’s been months man. I hope the blorbo doodles in the corner make up for it) The second image was done a lot later than the first btw. Idk if that matters but I’m bringing it up anyway.
His fit inspo came mostly from Pinterest. I just compiled a bunch of shit I think he’d wear. Plus a majestic cape because it makes him look plenty more epic.
OK MOVING ON. I decided that his main gimmick would be my take on his shaded side. The idea was to make it represent dissonance, and how it affects Soul. The shadow is basically just this fuckin void. It has no physical form, and you can just stick your hand in there if you’d like (he sometimes stores the trident there). However I wouldn’t recommend it. The feeling is indescribable, but very uncomfortable. The void has a life of it’s own in a way. It does not stay confined within the Soul’s physical form (or in my case, his lineart). When conflict is at a high, like, tridential regicide level high, the void will get very close to fully overtaking him. It only fully disappears once true concord is reached, and starts reforming when the next cycle starts.
Also, the mask !!!!! Throughout cacophony, Soul is having a huge fucking identity crisis and shit. He doesn’t really have a physical organ like the other two. He doesn’t know why he’s here, or what he did to deserve this, or why nothing he’s trying works, and just. What is he if he’s failing at his main purpose???? I think because of this, he doesn’t like showing his face around the other two. He needs to assert is power, and thinks that showing his face will make him come of softer and less of someone to obey, if that makes sense. He only really takes it off when he’s alone in his room or pocket dimension (still trying to decide if they have a mock ‘apartment’, or ever did at one point). But once he has the character arc in Two Wuv, it permanently comes off !!! Wahoo!!!!!!! If only the next cycle weren’t to start, resetting his newfound self image to its previous state !!!!!!!!!!
Ok this is getting long im putting a read more thing
Tumblr media
This image was very helpful for designing the tine shapes!! Guess which one is Soul’s !!!!!! (Spoiler alert, im pretty sure its either the 2nd or 6th ones in the 2nd row. However i genuinely dont remember. This may not even be the right image)
Soul also has a strange tie with eyes. If the halves have pissed him off to the point of no return, he does this fuckin analog horror stare that freaks the shit out of them (although heart cant see he remembers it very well. Plus, he just k n o w s that extra eye is there). I haven’t really played around with this, but I like the idea of a freakishly absurd amount of eyes hidden within the shadow. I should maybe like. Draw that sometime.
Also, expect a Soil patch update in the future!! I’d like to make his fangs more deranged, and maybe add an earth pattern to the cape. Right now, he has no symbols on him that represent him in the astronomy metaphor.
Uhhhh i hoped this helped??? If i missed anything you were hoping to know about, do let me know !!!!!!!

MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILERS FOR GENLOSS EPISODE: THE CHOICE
hello! these are my reactions and thoughts as i watched the third, and final, part of generation loss! not really an analysis, tho it does have some of my theories that were developed as i was watching. enjoy i suppose, lol
ok this is dope opening footage
who the hell is the mask person just walking around??? why are they in a mall??? hello???
does mask persons mask have the showfall symbol on it because i genuinely can’t tell lmao
ENHANCE
ok well it’s still just as blurry as before because like. obviously. but i’m almost positive their mask DOES have the showfall symbol on it. cool 😎
why are there so many mask people actually
are they like. guards?? is this fnaf: security breach??? thas crazy lmao
why was that one wearing a fedora 😂
also this dynamic camera shot is low key making me motion sick lmao, even if it is super cool
that’s a super helpful directory right there yep!
ah yes, the smoke gala, my favorite
why did that one showfall symbol on the glass look like it was painted in blood or something and how did they get it so neat. did they paint it on w a stencil using blood instead of paint. i need answers
oop hello ranboo
ok finally ranboo took off the bundle of like wires or paper clips or whatever that was dangling from their neck, i was wondering what that was lol
ohhhh ranboo trying to talk to the person filming is super cool
who the hell is talking to them rn lmao
hello hacker guy
his name is HEDGE?? did i mishear that
ok so i was right! when the mask is glowing red it means he’s being controlled
also i didn’t even know ranboo here was able to take off their mask. i thought it was like. attached to them or something.
ok i’m genuinely like on the edge of my seat lol
oooof ranboo is finally realizing that the people who died are like actually dead! yikes lmao
those are some pretty good effects for the blood tho like that looked pretty real all things considered. or like it’s the right color more or less
aaaaaand there’s the grappling with morals and survivors guilt and trying to reconcile being under someone else’s control while simultaneously realizing that the things you did while under said control was at least somewhat responsible for like, what, four? at least? people’s deaths!
….i feel like hedge or whatever he’s called is like for sure lying. i mean i know at least some of the people are in some capacity still alive but ALSO. i feel like he’s lying to ranboo to keep him from just leaving lmao. also i feel like that exit door prolly wouldn’t have worked anyway so whatever
this is such a cool setting btw, the amount of work that must’ve gone into this is insane. and also the soundtrack is phenomenal
i’m like super sus on this hacker guy lmao
UHHH YEAH I AGREE WHAT IS THAT???
‘it’s locked up, it’s secure, don’t worry about it ^^’ homeslice that thing is behind the least secure covering i’ve seen in my life. that thing looked flimsy as hell
i feel like this hacker might not know what he’s doing
i did not catch any of what that hacker said he needed, in one ear and out the other
‘..are these people, or machines, or-‘ uhhh i think the answer to that is YES.
i feel like i’m about to get jumpscared lmao
i feel like these guys won’t be ‘pretty much harmless’ in a bit tee hee
ranboo sure is going through it huh
‘how long have i been here’ i’m not sure you’ve ever left, buddy.
also, showfall SET UP MISSING POSTERS for ranboo on the OFF CHANCE HE ESCAPED??? BRUH. absolutely bizarre behavior
the fucking whiteboard in the corner with basically the plot of the series so far 😂
‘DAY 2 PLAN!!
-puzzle
-electric chair
-audience will chose
two plus two equals five
-black light closet
decoy “planned case of death” ‘
along w a couple doodles and some other stuff i couldn’t quite make out so that’s cool lol
ranboo is ahac- assigned hero at construction
i’m like convinced gl!ranboo is not like a full flesh and blood human being, homeslice is a lab baby for sure
oh there’s a day one plan whiteboard too but it wasn’t completely shown
imagine being payed to sit in a room completely still for however long lmao
did one of the people standing in the window leave?? 😂
oh that’s such a cool way to incorporate the viewer interaction or whatever again, with the hacker intentionally seeking them out for their input and ranboo being completely against it because ‘they might try to kill me’. i’m not gonna say it’s foreshadowing, BUT- it’s like for sure foreshadowing not a doubt about it lmao
lmao ranboo this is why you always listen to chat, they’re always right without fail /j
but honestly the audience hasn’t steered him wrong so far for the most part, at least for like the puzzles and stuff
oop bye hacker
oh he’s called hetch (?)
oop the people are moving around now that’s ominous
oh god the security
welp :D
that’s not good ^^
I CAN HEAR CHARLIE JN THE BACKGROUND MY BOY WHERE ARE YOU
i admire those people’s ability to just completely not break character to this tall person running up to them and desperately trying to get their attention lmao
the headphones probably help lol
ok what the actual hell is charlie literallt even saying right now 😂
the amount of times i’ve said that should be concerning but honestly i’m just resigned to it at this point. that’s my streamer 💔
sup my dude lmao
LMAO RANBOO JUST BREAKING CHARLIES CAMERA 😂
charlie sounds so fucking confused and sad nooo
ok genuinely i do not understand how the puzzler died AT ALL. literally what even happened there
i can’t get over how much taller ranboo is than charlie, charlie looks itty bitty but he could also just straight up deck me so i’m getting mixed signals here XD
charlie is such a good actor i’m losing my mind
that is a very big mall lmao
i like just noticed that piercing alarm noise ouch my ears
SUBA hell yeah
ah yes, jake’s, my favorite store

‘OH WHY DIDNT GOD GIVE ME LONGER LEGS’ mood, charlie, mood
yeah i’m sure they’ll be able to emotionally process this later lmao
oop hacker is dead
oop never mind yikes
…yeah it’s just a flesh wound i’m sure he’ll be fine 😅
that dye is not gonna wash out of that guys hand easily yikes. fake blood can be a bitch to get out of things lmao
ALSO I WAS RIGHT, ranboo and charlie and all the others aren’t actual humans technically!
diversity win! you and your friends are artificially created humanoids designed to play a role in horrific death games for the mundane entertainment of a faceless audience!
ok so the hacker is called hetch? cool
i’m also like mostly certain that the hacker is grizzly im pretty sure. maybe. i’m not great w voices i’ll be honest lol
oop. ranboos just committed a murder lmao
baby’s first kill in cold blood, i’m so proud 🥰 /j
charlie looks awfully blasé about the stabbing that occurred right in front of him
THE LOOK HE GAVE RANBOO XD
why’d ranboo ditch the knife bro they might need that later :(
goddd the soundtrack is literally so good tho
OH THATS WHY RANBOO SAID THAT THERE WAS A WEIRD PAINTINF, I WAS RIGHT, IT WAS IN REFERENCE TO SEEING ‘the fourth wall’, THATS SO COOL
oop bye bye charlie 😭
i feel like homeboys about to get eviscerated and like actually disemboweled this time
omegalul 😂
RANBOO GET THE BUTTON GET THE BUTTON GEY THE BUTTON
HELL YEAH
NEVERMIND
THIS PROBABLT ISNT GOOD 😅
uhhhh sup buddies tee hee
oh they’ve stopped moving that’s good
conveniently placed button
i mean not convenient enough i guess cuz like charlie is currently bleeding out or something but THATS BESIDES RHE POINT
i’ve almost managed to convince myself this has like a somewhat happy ending
aaaaaand never mind
the way my stomach genuinely fucking DROPPED when i saw that guy appear in the doorway immediately after ranboo bowed jesus christ my heart
i reiterate i absolutely should NOT be watching this at 2am yet my hubris knows no bounds
and also now my cat is meowing at my door bruhhh stop ruining the ending of this for me, max /j
the immeasurable dread in my gut right now, yall 😅
bye bye ranboo 👋
BOXED LIKE A FISH RANBOOS BOXED LIKE A FIS- *gets shot*
i fucking KNEW hetch was a goddamn bootlicker!!
fuck you hetch!!!
oh oof what happened to their mask :(
i knew this goddamn audience interactive element was gonna bite me in the ass jesus christ
ranboo is fucking stellar at acting which is why i can safely say i am in absolute goddamn shock!
oh homeslice is just straight up crucified wow
i wonder if there was any alternate ending or if the vote was precast to always end the way it did. because i know how this ends, and it is not a happy ending. i don’t think there was ever any way it COULDVE been a happy ending. this was always a tragedy, and the hero is always doomed by the narrative
oh just the abrupt and complete SILENCE upon the box closing, before it slowly zooms out and the theme fades in and swells as the blood drips down from the box??? holy shit that’s so fucking cool
the way this entire thing was directed and performed is a goddamn masterpiece, this was phenomenal and an absolute blast all the way through!!! i’m so so so glad i watched this and i so so so wish i had watched it earlier
i’m in shock y’all that was so cool
this is definitely going on my list of all time favorite pieces of horror media!! mannnn that was done so unbelievably well i’m absolutely blown away!!
i can’t wait to just lose my mind about this for the next like. forever i suppose
i can’t wait to analyze this dude i’m so excited!!!!!!!

Lover’s Eye | ksj
Tumblr media
Lover's Eye
— They say the eyes are the windows to one's soul. His just also happen to open the door to your heart.
Word Count: 5,448 Pairing: Kim Seokjin × Reader Contents: ANGST, roMANCE, FLUFF, dRAMA, PINING, star-crossed lovers 😭, oh the woes of being a woman in a historical period, misunderstandings being cleared uwu, KIM SEOKJINNN, Historical-ish AU (but with fictional places bc i didnt want to think of being historically accurate lol)
[masterlist] | check out the [moodboard]!
A/N: IT’S LATE but happy birthday jinnie 😭💞💖💗 I wanted to write something for him, but I didn’t want to write about him leaving for the military bc it’s a bit on the nose, so here you guys go instead! it’s an old fic idea that i recently revamped lol
Fun fact! The concept is based on the Georgian tradition of having an accessory (necklace, brooch, bracelet, etc.) that depicts an image of the eyes or an eye of a secret lover, spouse, or other loved ones. This is often common for those in secret affairs, protecting their lover's identity but at the same time be able to express their love (and I think that's pretty uwu if ur star-crossed lovers ✋😭💞)
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed! 💗💗💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your paradise is an old ruin on the outskirts of the city—a once great fortress now left to rot a hundred years after its last great feat—but in that crumbling mess of stone and moss are remnants of beautiful memories you constantly rekindle for some semblance of a warmth long gone. The pleasant weather emanates most of the feeling—warm sunlight peeking through the overgrown trees and cool breeze caressing stray hairs away from your face.
It’s a spot under one of the trees where you usually tuck yourself into and leave the rest of the world behind for your own peace of mind. It offers the perfect amount of light and shade, and the wind doesn’t become too distracting as you dawdle about.
This place, after all, is lawless, and you do as you please. At times, you’d bring a book and a pen with you, idly writing your thoughts and doodling in the margins as you read. Other days you’d stroll through the abandoned halls and let yourself be lost in imagining what took place centuries past. Most times, however, you’d sit under your favorite tree, take out a pencil or maybe that small, worn metal box of your paints, and bring something to life onto your paper—like now.
Accompanied by nothing but the distant sounds of small land critters reaching your ears, your hands move the pencil about the paper at a leisurely pace without much thought. Time passes easily this way, you taking your time to draw out figures—a person, apparently.
Oh.
Your hands come to a stop as you finally realize what—who—you’ve drawn instinctively. A man stares back at you with a tousle of dark, fluffy hair atop his head, brushing gently over his brows. His plump lips were drawn to a small smile, and his eyes—oh, his eyes—were dark in color but the expression in them remains soft and kind, piercing right through you—through your heart.
He looks beautiful—but you don’t think you could ever do the real thing justice.
At your own making, Kim Seokjin stares back at you—nothing but charcoal on paper; a mere likeness you cannot feel the warmth of, and an endearing gaze you can only recall in your memories.
You find yourself fishing for something beneath your lace blouse—a familiar small, gold locket whose four corners your fingers know very well to hold. Opening it reveals an eye that, unlike the sketch you’ve drawn, is a bit more lifelike with its colors. The dark chocolate iris has light reflecting off of it like starlight, making it stand out amidst the rest of the miniature canvas.
Flitting between the sketch and the locket only leaves you more despondent in a feat of having his image engraved in your head lest you ever have the misfortune of forgetting it.
You couldn’t help but ponder to yourself, reminiscing the seven springs since you’ve last seen the man.
Tumblr media
“Do you like it?”
Voice falling short of a whisper, struggling to find it in you to look at his face so you resort to asking for a verbal reaction. You watch as he endearingly compares the two lockets—one with his eye’s dark chocolate hue and the other with the (e/c) of yours. It had been fairly difficult to paint on such small canvases, but you managed to accomplish the feat.
“Absolutely, my love,” he croons, pressing a kiss atop your forehead before he clasps his locket around his neck. Without any hesitation, he does the same for you. Not long after, his fingers secure a gentle grip on your chin and guide your head upwards. For the first time since you two snuck off to meet tonight, your eyes meeting his, two almost-crescents twinkling as he gives you a smile—tender and loving with the hint of bittersweet sadness. “You’ve captured my handsomeness in the eye alone,” he jests despite himself, pride in his tone as he pulls you into an embrace. “How fortunate I have such a talented woman to immortalize me.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his antics. “But of course,” you hum against his shirt, as you hug him just a little bit tighter. “You’re my only muse.”
The shake in your dwindling voice doesn’t elude your lover, making him pull away and, this time, cupping your cheeks to give them a pinch. “Don’t frown now,” he tuts, his thumbs playfully drawing a smile onto your lips. “You swore you wouldn’t.”
Seokjin’s eyes ruin his light-hearted facade—just as crestfallen as yours. For his sake, however, you do your best to oblige a smile, only to have them force tears from your eyes. A shaky sigh leaves his lips as your tears start flowing one after the other, and so he pulls you into his arms again, letting his shirt stain with your tears.
You take every second to engrave the feeling of his arms—his warmth—around you. “Come back to me,” your words are muffled by his shoulder but he hears it all the same.
“Of course,” he affirms, giving you a squeeze as he buries his nose into your hair. “I very much intend to.”
Tumblr media
Kim Seokjin was an orphaned boy, found unconscious by the river outside the town and gladly taken in by the local baker and his wife who have been childless well into their years. He grew to be a handsome man, fawned over by even the ladies in your circle who often bemoaned about how unfortunate it was that he didn’t have anything to his name outside the bakery he’s set to inherit from his adoptive father.
You, however, accomplished what they couldn’t.
See, Kim Seokjin—one of the most revered bachelors in town—is your little secret. The man you sneak around with. The man you exchange knowing glances with. The man you’ve shared your heart with.
It was most unfortunate that the two of you were born into different classes. You are the third of four daughters in a particularly well-off family who owned and managed a relatively large farmland. Though your family ranks low amongst polite society, your mother, nearly driven mad into perfectionism, strictly wanted all of her daughters to marry well. This became the very reason why you’ve kept the fact that you and baker Kim’s son are lovers.
It was most fortunate, however, that your two elder sisters successfully secured themselves husbands for their future and the family, especially when your late father succumbed to his illness during one particularly harsh winter. Occupied with the adjustments of passing the family business to your eldest sister and her husband, your mother’s pressure with suitors eventually loosened (just a little) when it came to you and your youngest sister, who shared your distaste with the forced matches. This made it all the more easier to see Seokjin, who often came around under the excuse of his father’s bakery that got their supply of dry ingredients from your family’s company.
It was him who found the ruins—him who brought you there one night and the two of you spent the night watching the stars.
It was him who revived your love for art—him who gifted you a makeshift palette of paints and urged you to paint when you were told to forget about your passion.
It was him who left you—him who decided to seize the opportunity to be an apprentice to the royal chef and asked you to make something for him to remember you by (hence, the lockets).
The two of you swore you'd stand the test of time, distance, and everything else the universe will throw your way. Of course, such things were always easier said than done. Misfortune found its way to the path and now… well, now you’re quite unsure of what it holds for you—or him.
Here you are, seven years have passed—no Kim Seokjin aside from the ones you've put on paper and canvas.
Does he still look the same after all these years?
Did he keep his locket close to his heart, too?
Did he ever stare into the likeness of your eye and reminisce?
There are times resentment gets the better of you—questions of his love, of why he hasn't gone back to look for you, of if he ever even loved you any more—and time, itself, has made you weary, spent your tears, and tired your heart. It's gotten easier to bury memories of him, but times like this come where it rises from the depths in which you've left it. You walk the line of acceptance and delusion, indulging in your greatest "what if" while knowing the truth of your folly.
A sigh escapes your lips as you start to feel the tears stinging your eyes. You keep them at bay as you try to get yourself together. "That's enough for the day," you tell yourself, gathering your materials and slipping them into your satchel.
Another day ends with you leaving the ruins—your paradise—behind, along with all of the memories of your first love.
Tumblr media
"A ball?"
Before you, your youngest sister, Emma, nods enthusiastically as your eldest sister, Jane, offers you a kind smile. "We thought it'd be lovely for you to join," she says, squeezing your hand, pleading. "Anne will be here by then, too, and we'll be complete."
Your heart aches for your sisters, but while you love them very much…
“You know my sentiments about polite society,” you couldn’t help but sigh, sarcasm dripping in “polite” as you know well of the vipers that hide beneath their pristine facades.
See, the truth of you and your relationship with Seokjin was discovered six or so years ago by your mother. The resulting conflict led to your disownment and the death of your reputation in the eyes of the social circle, who stared at you with scrutiny, jealousy, and disdain wherever you went.
Emma and Jane looked at you in pity—something you absolutely distaste, but you know it would never leave their eyes even if you told them to. Still, however, your eldest sister brings out a piece of paper—an invitation. “It’ll be fine,” she assures you, “It’s a masquerade ball.”
“No one would know,” Emma eagerly supplies, wielding puppy dog eyes and a pout against you.
You look at the two of your sisters—who have missed you since all these years, who have given you support in secret, who have urged you to return to the family since your late mother’s passing two years ago. You only manage to meet them a day every other week, your stubborn drive to make something of yourself occupying most of your days with your jobs.
The cursive words on the card look back at you, almost expectantly. Wearing a mask sounds promising, but the luxury of it all—finding a gown to wear, attending the extravagant party, following the strict etiquette—is all too much now for the simpler life you’ve lived in the past years. They remind you of a suffocating, restricting part of your life.
On the other hand, however, your heart strings are tugged for your sisters.
With a sigh, you set the invitation down and turn back to your sisters who anticipate your response. “How am I even supposed to afford a decent dress for myself?” you say, brow raised, but the signs of defeat bring grins onto their lips.
“We’ll gladly take care of that, dear,” Jane assures you as Emma excitedly giggles, leaving her seat to hug you.
Their warmth coaxes a smile from your lips. Anything for them.
Tumblr media
“Anything for them, you say?” you grumble to yourself with a muffled groan as you stand amongst a crowd all chattering amongst themselves, while you stand there all by your lonesome.
The night of the much awaited ball, you stayed at the estate for the first time in years. The maids delivered to you a beautiful gown of gentle green with delicate white lace trims. Along with it was a white mask with vines and flowers sculpted around it. It took a while for you to get ready, but by the end of it, your hair was beautifully pinned up with a few pearls and faux white flowers.
The four of you—your second elder sister having arrived with her husband a few days before—meet at the living room, all happy smiles at the notion of being together again. Of course, having their husbands in tow, all of you had to split between two carriages on the way to Fairford Manor.
Which brings you here now.
Alone, because as all of your sisters have gotten married (yes, even your youngest sister has now also found herself a man), that means as the song for the waltz played, all couples go to the center and dance together.
“They say the chandelier was a gift from Queen Irene herself. Isn’t that fascinating, my lady?”
You hold back a grimace. “Quite so,” you politely say in feign interest, so as to not offend the man next to you. You don’t know who the old man is, but while he's been nice to have struck a conversation with you, if you planned to spend your evening with history lessons, you’d go to a library.
“Have you eve—”
“Good evening.”
A tall stranger approaches you both, clad in a black suit embroidered with silver thread and a black mask covering his full face. Your brows raise as the man offers you his hand. “If I may,” he courtesies, “I’d like to ask the lady for a dance?”
Looking around, it seems that the second dance has indeed begun. A part of you is relieved at the sweet release from boredom, but then again, you don’t know this man either. Something does, however, urge you to take his hand before you can even think about it.
For a moment, his hand in yours leaves you befuddled. Warm they were, and… No. Nonsense.
“I’d be delighted to,” you force a smile, now that you’ve doomed yourself to accept the invitation.
The two of you join the circle of people who came to dance to the next song. While your hand remains in his, you gingerly—awkwardly—place your other hand on the man’s shoulder. His other hand found purchase at the small of your back, as you both began to follow the tune and waltz. You thank your body for remembering the arduous years of having to study dances—you’ve yet to step on your partner’s feet!
You find yourself looking up to meet eyes with the stranger. The close distance has allowed you a better look into his eyes, and they knock the air out of you. Dark irises you’ve seen so many times before stare back at you with a knowing familiarity.
Is it—can it really be him?
“A frown doesn’t suit you, my lady,” he says, and his voice alone—soft and light-hearted as always—dooms your suspicions. With the mask obscuring his face, you find it hard to decipher his emotions. Has time rid you of knowing what his eyes speak after so long?
Your heart races and aches in a flurry of emotions, but for his sake and yours, you resist the urge to storm out of the ballroom. You wonder if he can sense your panic—if he could see your eyes glassy with unshed tears. “So, you’ve come back,” you dully say, tearing your eyes from him to spare yourself any more pain.
“A bit later than intended, I know,” he tells you as he guides you through the dance.
Too late, your pain screams. Too late. Too late—
Your teeth bite down at your lip, and you sentence yourself to silence until the last note of the song. Without another word, you hastily courtesy and leave him on the dancefloor, glaring at the marbled floors all the way out of the manor. Hushed whispers follow you, but they are nothing you haven’t privy your heart to. In fact, you’ve expected the gossiping—but him? Kim Seokjin, your first love, right before you when you’ve spent seven years without him?
He’s a blow to your heart you hadn’t anticipated—a bomb amongst mere arrows.
A sob finally escapes your lips as you reach the stairs that lead to a pathway to the gates, forcing you to shed your mask when they stick to your skin and get in the way of your tears. The cold night air nips your skin, but you’ve been shaking for far longer than the moment you stepped outside.
Your melancholy has you nearly stagger off the stairs, but a hand grabs a secure hold of your elbow before you could fall. You pathetically look up to your supposed savior—Kim Seokjin, sans the black mask. How fortunate.
“(Y/N)—”
“Don’t,” you grit through your teeth.
It’s a surreal sensation—bittersweet, really—to finally see the real thing when you’ve spent years longing for your drawings and paintings to become it. Yet, here your old flame was now—alive in a way your art could never atone—and all the yearning turned into a forest fire across your whole being.
Soft thumbs wipe away your tears, a feeling that makes you instantly flutter your eyes closed. “It’s unfair,” you find yourself whimpering your thoughts aloud. “Why does it feel like I’m the only one suffering?”
Years of scrutiny and hopelessness all reap the seeds of misery they sowed in you, all of them coming alive to ensnare you and drag you to the depth now that the sole reason for it all presents himself to you—the man you loved, the man you left your family for, the man you stayed in this damned city for even as it rots you from the inside out.
“What makes you say that?”
Seokjin’s words coax you to open your eyes. Through blurred tears, you come to realize he’s closer now, his eyes swimming with tears like yours—the sight of which softens your furrowed brows. Still, it’s not enough to satiate the years of contempt that brewed within you. “Time seems to have been kinder to you, is all,” you bitterly say, taking in his suit ensemble that you could immediately tell was expensive.
Your words hurt Seokjin, you know it well, but in a childish feat, you hope it does. “I’ve worked hard for it,” he argues, a frown tugging his lips down. “You know nothing of what I’ve been through.”
“So do you,” you say, reaching to remove his hands from your face and walking down what steps remain on the stairs.
You have no doubts of his accomplishments. He had always been able to do what he set his mind to and do so flawlessly. Perhaps, it is this that also prods at the green-eyed monster within you, who envies to see that while you may have both suffered, he’s more triumphant in his feats than you were.
Ever the better person out of the two of you, Seokjin tries to bring you to reason. He follows you out to the manor grounds. “Then make me understand,” he pleads, managing to take your hands into his and effectively stop you in your tracks yet again. “Don’t run away from this—from me.”
Seokjin’s eyes never leave yours and you find it hard for yourself to look away now. Damn it all. His eyes have always done away with you and your stubborn resolve.
“Mother found out,” you find yourself telling him, lips quivering yet again.
Through the next months after Seokjin’s apprenticeship began at the capital, you would get your news of him through his mother, who always had that knowing glint in her eyes about the two of you before he had left. Both your worries and excitement could fill an ocean, and that made the two of you much closer as you both waited for every letter from Seokjin.
It was a year or so in, however, your mother discovered his letters to you. You remember the sheer dread that washed over you when you saw her at your vanity table, reading the letters Seokjin directly addressed to you.
Tumblr media
"Mother…"
You stood frozen by the door, part of your nightgown bunched in your hands as you watched your mother grip the letter tightly with only one thing in her eyes—fury. The moment she looked up and met your eyes through the mirror, chills ran down your spine. "What did I lack for you to have done this treachery to me, (Y/N)?" she said, voice eerily steady and sharp that it makes you flinch.
Willing yourself to step forward, you try to gently reason with her. "Mother, love mustn't have boundaries," you say, “Seokjin is—”
"Love is an illusion, (Y/N)," your mother spat, standing from the chair with such force that it toppled over. “These,” she waves a letter to your face, “These are nothing but lies.”
"It's not—"
"This boy may have you fooled, but not me," your mother claims, tearing the letter in her hands before your eyes, the sight of which sets you a blaze in panic.
"No!" you cry out and run to her, grasping her hands to try and save the other letters from the same fate. "Stop it, please! Stop!"
Your mother looks at you in outrage as you cry over the torn pages of your lover’s words, clutching the letters you managed to get a hold of close to your heart. "You'd waste yourself for that baker's boy?!" she bellowed, "What else can he give you aside from his looks, hm? Nothing!"
"I don't give a damn about what he can't give!" you scream back, anger now flowing through your veins. "I love him and he loves me—unconditionally. I'm not throwing what we have away simply because he doesn't fit you greedy ide—"
A slap damns you to silence.
"How dare you?" your mother sneers, seething. "How will you live then, hm? In the slums with nothing to eat?"
Her underestimation of commoners infuriates you. "The Kims get by just fine mother," you hiss, standing to stare her down with a glare. "Your obsession with luxury blinds you to the beauty in their simple lives."
Your mother glares back, crossing her arms. "Then I'll simply have you see things my way," she declares with such sureness that it unsettles you.
"What do you mean?"
"No daughter of mine marries a commoner," she says the words with such disgust that it stabs your heart with pain. "You'll marry Lord Jung's son, and then you'll see just how much better life is!"
Jung Hoseok, you remember him. A kind, bright boy you played with as a child—son to one of your late father’s greatest investors. He’s heir to his father’s brewery business. You can see why, in your mother’s eyes, he’s a perfect candidate for marriage.
Even so, you can't stomach the thought of betraying Seokjin—let alone attempting to unlove him.
"Then, I'll be no daughter of yours."
Your mother's visibly taken aback, her furious eyes that had seemed so sure before falter upon hearing your words. "What?"
Tears sting your eyes as you shake but you stand your ground. "If it disgusts you to have a daughter who loves a commoner, then I'll do you a favor, Lady (L/N)," you tell her, fishing for a coat in your closet, as well as the satchel that kept your locket and the makeshift palette Seokjin gifted you among other things.
"You would leave the family for that boy?"
You could no longer bear the noose this life has around your neck. "A single inch of Kim Seokjin has made me feel more love, seen, and supported than you ever could," you claim, as you don on your coat. Another glare and you finally tell your mother the truth that you and your sisters have all been thinking of for years. "Your expectations and dreams have doomed us all to terrible, unhappy ends."
In many ways, your mother had killed all of you.
Jane, the eldest, while her husband was a good man, lives in his shadow. You like to think she was a genius, if she hadn’t been shackled to be a woman like all of you were. She longed to take care of the family estate and business herself, but that power’s been passed to her husband.
Anne—sweet Anne—who loved to read about plants, was married off to a count from a neighbouring kingdom. Your mother didn’t care about the rumors of his infamous infidelity—-didn’t care that your sister was doomed to be all alone, so far from home.
And, young Emma, whose imagination knows no bounds, wanted to write stories, but mother burned her manuscripts when she found out about her intentions to publish them.
"Everything I do, I do for all of you," your mother growled.
"You do it for yourself," your words smack her nearly as hard as she did. "You'd rather have our hearts and souls die to fit your perfect picture, than be happy."
"Happiness isn't everything—"
"I'd rather die than live without happiness."
This shocks her enough into silence that it gives you time to storm out of the room—of the estate.
Tumblr media
Seokjin’s eyes were wide as you told him of what had transpired that night. He seems as if he had something to say, but he withholds his words until you finish your side of the story.
The two of you walk in the night, side by side with a distance drawn by an invisible line between you both. “I came to the bakery the moment I left,” you tell him, “but even then, my misery doesn’t end.”
That night, certain of your disownment, you made a run for the Kims' bakery. Imagine your surprise when you found the establishment abandoned. No more bread of all shapes, forms, and flavors displayed. No more gentle conversation between Mr and Mrs Kim. No more kind smiles to welcome you into the abode.
Everything was gone.
“I don’t know what happened,” you say, shivering yet again—this time from the cold. Seokjin wordlessly sheds his black overcoat, the silver threads embroidered into it glinting in the moonlight as he did. For a moment, you’re silent, words unable to escape you as he drapes his coat over your shoulders.
This makes it all the more difficult to meet his eyes, you forcing yourself to look at the forest ahead. “I…” you wet your lips as you ease your breathing. “I barely had any money with me, but one of our old maids thankfully took me in.”
Helen remains to be someone dear to your heart. “It was also her who helped me find something to make a living with,” you say, a soft smile on your face at the memory of going through town with Helen to look for jobs. In the end, she was able to help you become an assistant seamstress to a kind over to a dress shop.
After months of working, you finally had enough to look for him where you last knew he was. “The first of my plans was to earn enough money to go to the capital,” you murmur, your smile fading at the memory of what took place there when you arrived. “Alas,” you bitterly laugh, “you weren’t there anymore.”
It took you days to even manage to ask a member of the royal kitchen staff about what happened to Seokjin, and as it turns out, he quit from his post some time after you were disowned. Next to you, Seokjin grimaces, sighing as he shakes his head. “I,” he stammers, “I had already been under a lot of pressure, and…”
It seemed to be his turn reminiscing. “My parents came to the capital all of a sudden,” he began, “they said Lady (L/N) told them to get out of the city at your request—said that you were getting married to another and you didn’t want anything that reminded you of me.”
Your heart dropped at the news. When did your mother orchestrate such a scheme?
You recall that before that night, the last you had seen of Mr and Mrs Kim had been a week or so. Had your mother known about you and Seokjin for much longer before you discovered her in your room?
Tears return to your eyes, and you find yourself clutching Seokjin’s coat tightly in your hands. A newfound hatred for your mother burns in you, but a part of you still found fault in Seokjin’s predicament. “Seven years,” your words tremble. “I’ve waited seven years for you to come back—stayed a commoner here even as they slander me behind my back because I didn’t want you to not find me. Why didn’t you come for me sooner?”
Until the end, you were your mother's disappointment. Even your youngest sister, who had no plans of getting married, was now with child, having gotten married to the heir to a publishing company last summer. You, on the other hand, denied any man who came to ask for your hand—who all told you how fortunate you were that they’re even asking a desolate spinster like you.
You could feel Seokjin’s gaze from beside you, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to look into them and see what they held. A sigh resounds from him, so filled with regret and anguish. “I lost my way for a while,” he confesses, “when I heard your supposed husband was an heir, I was angry. I poured my heart and my time into making something of myself—I got back to the royal kitchen, I got employed under a ducal family, and then I delved into business.”
He looks up at the moon, like it’d give him more strength for his confessions. “I planned to come back here and show you all of that, I…” he shakes, “I wanted you to regret leaving me.”
You find it hard to imagine Kim Seokjin, who was always so mature and certain of himself, be so unsure and lost, and yet the emotions his words carry are proof of it. A part of you feels betrayed that he thought you would believe such a thing, but you know well how emotions can cloud a person’s reason.
The two of you came to a stop when he stood before you, seizing your hands yet again since the manor’s staircase. A hand came to tilt your chin towards him. “When I finally came here,” Seokjin earnestly looked at you, “I can’t begin to imagine the relief and joy I felt to find out you never got married at all, but I… I also know what a fool I’ve been.”
A glint of that well-known determination is in his eyes as he fishes for something pinned beneath his waistcoat. “When I saw you at the ball, I knew I had to at least try if I had even a small chance to be with you again.”
In his hands was his locket, one that revealed your eye in the midst of it. At that moment, your eyes yet again shine with tears—this time, happier than the previous ones. Your heart swells, not enough to quell your pain, but still enough to comfort your broken heart—to embrace it and say “I’m here, I’ll never leave again.”
Before you is a familiar view, you now realize it as you look around what surrounded you both. Walking down the memories of the past lead you to the place where you both shared most of it—the ruins.
A small smile makes it to your lips. “Do you remember the last time we were here?” you ask him, and watch as he, too, came to recognize where you two were. The smile that befalls him is precious, as he nods.
You find yourself squeezing his hand in yours, taking a step forward to lessen the gap between you both. You stare into his eyes—see how softly and kindly they gaze at you. “You are my only muse,” you say, echoing the words you told him seven springs ago as your fingers reach for the locket you kept tucked between your dress and corset. “The one who gave me strength amidst my misery.”
Seokjin encloses his right hand with yours, both of them containing your respective lockets, as he rests his forehead against yours, eyes fluttering close. “You’re my muse, too,” he swore under his breath as he leaned in and captured your lips in a tender kiss.
You smile, the cracks in your heart slowly but surely being melded back together from his warmth.
Here you are, seven years have passed—Kim Seokjin very much alive and within arm’s reach, proving what you thought during that dreadful night to be true. You can never unlove him.

the little artsy speedster
Irey West. Donna Troy. Babysitting. Sketchbooks. Polaroid Photographs. 2353 words. (ao3.)
The Troy Photography studio was located at a townhouse in the Upper West Side, up a short flight of stairs and inside a bedroom that had been converted into a work space. On one end was a backdrop and numerous light stands, and on the other was a computer desk, a couch, and several shelves cluttered with nothing but photography equipment.
Evidently, Auntie Donna had a strong preference for Fujis.
As the photographer sat at her desk and meticulously edited photographs for her client, Irey West sat on the nearby couch and made an attempt at her science homework — attempt being the operative word. Sure, learning about the anatomy of the human eye was probably the more productive thing to do, but doodling flowers in the margins of her textbook was much more fun.
Plus, after getting into trouble for spacing out in class on three separate occasions, there was probably no way that Irey could get into any more.
After decorating a page with roses of varying colors, Irey closed her book and decided she had enough “science-ing” for the day.
She got up from the couch and stretched her shoulders, her eyes catching sight of the studio window, and the view of Manhattan outside.
Curious, she stepped through the studio and arrived at her babysitter’s desk. She stood by the chair as Donna affixed her eyes to her monitor, utilizing the finest image editing software available to properly finish her project.
Irey peered over and took in the photograph on the monitor. The image depicted a grown man with a head of neatly combed brown hair, a pair of blue eyes, and a kindly smile on his face.
Auntie Donna had already explained that she was editing headshots for her various clients, most of which were working actors. The photos on the screen now looked exactly the same as the ones before, except the current guy had a chin shaped like a butt.
Noticing the young redhead, Donna turned her head to the side and smiled. “How’s that homework coming along?”
Irey looked down to her shoes. “... it’s fine.”
“Are you sure?” asked Donna, smirking. She turned in her swivel chair to face her little niece. “Because you’ve been doodling more than studying.”
Irey let out a sigh. “Doodling is all I’m good at.”
Donna tilted her head to the side just slightly, then spoke in a soft tone. “That’s not true.”
Irey was unconvinced, especially if her last report card was anything to go by. If it wasn’t the dyslexia making it difficult to put words to paper, then it was the ADHD making her space out during class and missing the lesson entirely. At least doodling on her notebook, sketchpad, and textbooks helped her feel grounded, like she was actually okay at something for once.
It helped that her art teachers seemed to tolerate her more than the others.
Sensing the distress in her young niece, Donna decided to speak up again.
“I have an idea — how about I finish up here and we get an early dinner?” she suggested. “I need a break, anyways.”
Irey couldn’t help but smile. “I’d like that.”
Donna gave a quick nod, then turned towards her computer screen once more. “Great, just give me a few minutes.”
As the photographer went on to tinker with her client’s headshots just a little more, Irey turned her head towards one part of the studio that she was particularly interested in.
That part being the shelf of trinkets near Auntie Donna’s desk. She had seen it a handful of times before and every time she was utterly intrigued by the collection of cameras put on display. The actual equipment used for photo shoots were kept in thick plastic boxes, while the shelf appeared to be a place for Auntie Donna to display her camera collection.
The contraptions Irey saw were unlike the mirrorless digital camera her parents had at home, or even the medium format workhorse Auntie Donna used for her clients. The cameras were much older, yet managed to stand the test of time. All of them used film, which meant that every shot had to matter.
There was one camera that was made of black plastic, felt like a toy, and was called a Holga. There was another that was made of metal and built like a tank — it was called a SLR, which meant single-lens reflex. According to Auntie Donna, back in a certain day and age most cameras had a mirror inside of them to reflect the image from the lens and into an eyepiece for the photographer to see.
But then there was one that Irey just couldn’t keep her eyes off of. On the bottom right shelf there was a blocky camera that was most definitely older than herself. Irey had seen Donna use it before, and everytime she did the camera would make a whirring sound as it dispensed a square-shaped photograph out the front. It would only take a few moments for the image taken to appear on the thick, plasticky material.
Curiously, Irey reached for the camera and took it gently in her hands. She had witnessed Donna being very precious with the thing and made sure to do exactly the same.
Back at the computer desk, Donna looked over her shoulder to see her young niece toying with her prized Polaroid Supercolor 635 CL. Unsurprisingly, she was quick to speak up.
“Be careful, that’s-”
Immediately, Irey’s finger put pressure on the shutter button, causing a flash of light to emit from the camera and for Irey to start stumbling backwards. By the grace of a higher power, she didn’t drop the device and have it shatter into a million little pieces.
Irey let out a grumble as she put her arm over her now overstimulated eyes.
“Aaaah! I flashed myself!”
Donna stepped out of her chair and approached Irey, reaching out to steady the girl and gently taking the camera away. As she placed the whirring device on her desk, she just had to wonder if there was a much less concerning way for Irey to phrase her thoughts.
Donna didn’t consider herself a great cook, but she was well-versed in the art of scrounging around one’s kitchen and making a meal out of whatever she could find.
Fortunately, there was enough groceries left in her fridge and pantries to constitute some kind of dish. Though she wondered exactly how old the frozen shrimp in her freezer was.
Nonetheless, Donna busied herself over a hot stove as Irey sat at the island in the middle of the kitchen. It was nice to occupy her mind with something that didn’t involve a camera or punching a supervillain for a change.
As Donna boiled fettuccine and fried shrimp, she would look over her shoulder just to check on the speedster at the counter.
Every time she looked over Irey was in the same spot. On the counter was a sketchbook and in her hand was a pencil, and on the paper Irey drew to her heart’s content on a surface that was actually made for it.
After slicing a few lemons on a cutting board, Donna put her knife down and walked over to the sketching speedster.
“What are you drawing, Irey?”
Irey put down her pen and slid her sketchbook.
As Donna looked towards the moleskine on the counter, she expected the usual abstract scribbles that most kids would make when doodling, or even the flowers Irey had placed in the margins of her textbook.
But to her surprise, the illustration that Irey had made could only be described as a winged eldritch abomination with two dark, beady eyes that had been drawn with so much pressure that the paper was slightly warped.
“It’s mothman!” Irey exclaimed in a cheery voice.
Had it not been for the girl’s utter enthusiasm, Donna would have been concerned. But instead she couldn’t but smile at her little niece’s rather amusing — albeit slightly unpredictable — imagination.
“Oh, how macabre,” Donna said as if a thirteen-year-old would know exactly what that meant. She flipped through the pages of the book and found a handful of similar pencil drawings depicting the same creature.
Either kids were super into urban legends nowadays, or Irey had a really strong appreciation for the cryptid of West Virginia.
Irey quickly took her sketchbook back and flipped a few pages forward. What awaited Donna on the other side was an illustration of a window, one seemingly in front of a city skyline that looked somewhat familiar.
Donna blinked for a few moments, her interest very much piqued, then realized that what Irey had drawn was a recreation of the view outside of her photography studio.
While the lines were uneven and the shading was spotty in some places, the fact that Donna could actually recognize it as her little corner of the Upper West side was impressive. Irey even managed to depict the rooftops of various brownstones and the few tree branches of Central Park.
“I also tried to draw the view outside your office,” Irey said in an almost timid tone.
“Did you do this by memory?” asked Donna, gently grazing the surface of the drawing with her fingertip.
“Yeah, so it sucks, but I tried,” Irey confirmed, shrugging. “But Mom said that trying something and sucking is the first step in trying something and not sucking.”
Amused, Donna gave the young budding artist a smile. “Your mother’s a very wise lady, Irey.”
Stepping away from the kitchen island, Donna walked towards one of the drawers in the room and pulled it open, said drawer being one of those spaces that a person would fill with whatever clutter they needed out of the way.
After rifling through the fast food napkins, numerous rubber bands, and brochures she took but never read, Donna emerged from the mess with a single fine-tipped pen in her hand.
“Here, try this,” said the Amazon as she handed it over to the little artsy speedster. “You won’t have to use as much pressure for the details.”
Irey looked apprehensive as she accepted the pen. Perhaps all her time drawing with her school supplies had led to unfamiliarity with anything else.
Nonetheless, Donna noticed Irey testing the fine-tipped pen as she turned back towards the meal on the stove.
After testing if the pasta was done, Donna drained and added it to the pan with the shrimp. She squeezed a healthy dose of lemon juice onto the food, then added a few pats of butter to ensure that all the ingredients were able to truly mingle.
For a meal that she was partially bullshitting, it turned out remarkably well.
Donna placed the shrimp scampi with fettuccine onto two plates and garnished them with celery leaves, pepper, and grated parmesan. As she brought it to the kitchen island she could see Irey putting the final touches on her masterpiece.
“How’s it looking?” asked Donna as she placed the meals on the counter.
Irey put down her pen and showed off her not new, but improved illustration. “It’s looking less sucky,” she admitted, shrugging once more.
“It was never sucky to begin with, trust me,” Donna assured as she peered towards the sketchbook. With a smile on her face she slipped into the role of art critic.
Unsurprisingly, Irey managed to enhance the details of her recreation of Donna’s studio window, adding darker lines wherever it was necessary to highlight the details outside of the Troy brownstone. She even made sure to properly detail every window of every building that she depicted.
“Excellent work, Irey,” Donna lauded with a grin. “Top marks.”
Irey looked as if she was trying not to blush. “You know a lot about drawing,” she said sheepishly, perhaps trying to deflect the complement. “But I thought you were a photographer.”
“An old friend of mine used to draw a lot,” Donna explained easily. She took a seat next to her young niece and placed the sketchbook down. “I like to think I picked up a thing or two.”
Irey let out a hum, then suddenly her attention was caught by the steaming plate of pasta in front of her. With a grin, she grabbed the nearest fork and began digging in.
“Thanks for dinner, Auntie D,” she managed to say before taking her first bite.
In the span of a few seconds Donna saw nearly every bit of Wally West in the little girl in front of her — everything from the shade of his hair to his signature speedster appetite.
“You’re welcome, Irey,” Donna said. Before she picked up a fork, she suddenly remembered something that she had brought with her from the studio upstairs.
Reaching into the pocket of her cardigan, Donna soon pulled out the polaroid photograph that had been taken during Irey’s little camera incident.
She leaned over the counter slightly and held the photo towards the little redhead.
“Oh, let’s see how this turned out.”
Irey’s mouth was half-full with pasta as she peered over. The photo immortalized on the material was nothing special, essentially an analog selfie of a curious redhead who didn’t realize that the camera she was holding was full of film.
Donna thought it was a good first shot, but Irey was thinking otherwise.
“Ugh, even my photos suck,” said Irey, crinkling her nose.
“No, it doesn’t,” Donna promised. “It’s just your first, and if you try to take more than I can assure you that they’ll get better with time.”
Irey shrugged. “Yeah, but I’m a drawer, not a photographer.”
Donna tilted her head to the side just slightly. “Some people could be both.”
For a moment, Irey blinked in shock as she took in the news, and in her little niece’s eyes Donna could see a certain revelation settling into the girl, one that clearly had not been realized before.
With a sly grin on her face, Donna dug into her pasta and wondered if this — of all things — could be a day that would change Iris West II’s life forever.

“I’m not even sure if that’s a real species.”
(Ryan Lucan x GN!Reader)
this didn't turn out as great as I wanted it to cuz I'm absolute shit at writing fluff but I already have another Ryan fic in the works to make up for it (that break shit was apparently a lie) I hope ya'll enjoy anyway.
Reblogs are always appreciated!
Summary: Between shitty drawings of birds and struggling with your feelings for your best friend, Ryan is determined to make your birthday one to remember
Word count: 3.3k
Warnings/other info: major spoilers for LIS: True Colors, swearing, shitty pacing, my mediocre attempt at writing fluff
Tumblr media
“Are you done yet?”
Your feet skidded against the floor, the rubber soles of your shoes creating a loud squeak as you stopped the chair from rolling forward. Spinning to face Ryan, you give him a wide grin.
“Nope.”
He shakes his head and leans forward in his seat, looking over his work as he lets you continue your antics.
It was a beautiful day in Haven Springs, the sun shining in the bright blue sky, a comfortable breeze shaking the leaves. Most people in town were probably going hiking along the trails. You? Well, you couldn’t think of a more perfect time to bother your dear friend, Ryan, at his place of work. He wasn’t surprised to see you walk into the ranger station with two cups of coffee and a box of takeout from the bar, used to your random visits. But he told you with a guilty expression and those familiar puppy dog eyes that he had too much work to take a break with you. You had waved him off, letting him know that it was okay and you could just hang around to keep him company. Though, he didn’t think agreeing would mean you acting like an absolute menace around him.
Rolling over to the other desk, you began looking through the drawers for something to fidget with when you found a walkie, smiling to yourself as you clicked it on and held down the button.
“... Lookin’ good over there, mountain man.”
Ryan let out a soft curse and flinched when he heard his own walkie go off next to him, grabbing it before turning towards you with a narrowed gaze. “Really?”
“Ah ah! You have to talk into the walkie. Over”
“I’m not speaking into the-”
“I’m sorry, I think I’m getting a little static, can you repeat that? Over.”
Letting out a sigh, he couldn’t help but smile as he brought the walkie closer to his face. “You’re ridiculous.”
“I’m what? Over.”
“You’re ridiculous! Over.”
A wide smile broke out on your face as Ryan let out a soft chuckle, and you placed the walkie back inside the desk drawer before rolling over to him and lightly nudging him with your chair.
“What’s got you all stressed out? You’re usually more easy going than this,” you asked, taking a glance at what was on his desk.
He shrugged. “Just- you know, new regulations and things to go over. It’s no big deal. Just not the most fun part of my job, I guess.”
You nodded, spotting a yellow notepad and sliding it towards yourself before grabbing a pen. He watched as you drew a quick doodle of a bird, and you propped it against the lamp on the corner of the desk.
“There, now you have a feathered friend to keep you company while you're inside.”
Ryan tilted his head, examining the drawing. “I’m not even sure if that’s a real species.”
You scoffed, smacking his shoulder as he laughed. “Oh, whatever. Next time draw your own damn bird.” Standing up, you fished your phone out of your pocket to check the time. “Oh shit, I’m gonna be late. I’ll see you later, okay?”
“Yeah, and don’t forget to meet me at the Lantern tonight.”
Nodding, you gave Ryan a quick hug before racing out the door and driving to work. Ever since Riley left, you quickly took over her position at the flower shop so Eleanor wouldn’t be managing the store alone. You could tell she needed the help, no matter how often she told you she was fine. Luckily, she was getting more used to accepting your help as time went on.
You stepped into the flower shop with minutes to spare, letting out a breath as you walked into the back office. Grabbing your apron, you tied it around yourself before clocking in, and as you stepped out of the room, Eleanor came out of the greenhouse with a bundle of flowers in her hand.
“Oh! Dear, what are you doing here?”
“Uh, working my shift?”
“Oh. I was sure I had you scheduled off for today,” Eleanor said, walking into the office to check your schedule.
You looked at her with your eyebrows drawn up in confusion. “But, I usually work today, don’t I?”
“Well, yes, but I assumed you didn’t want to spend your birthday working.”
Your eyes slightly widened before your expression fell and you let out a sigh. “Shit. I’m sorry, Eleanor. I’ve been so busy, I guess I just forgot.”
“Oh, I understand, dear. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t forget important things, too. Do you wanna go home?”
You shook your head. “No. No, it’s fine. I’m already here, so, might as well get some work done.”
Eleanor nodded, handing you the bundle of flowers before walking back into the greenhouse. A quiet sigh left you as you walked behind the counter and wrapped up the bundle of lilies, taking them over to the case of flowers. It didn’t surprise you that you forgot. In the past, your birthday had never been something you made a big deal about, so why should you now? The most you ever did was watch movies and have a few drinks with Ryan, Steph, and Alex, and there was nothing you enjoyed more than hanging out with them.
Steph and Ryan had been your best friends ever since you could remember, along with Gabe. When Alex came to Haven, she fit right in with all of you. And when Gabe died… well, safe to say it was hard on all of you. Like a piece had been ripped out and replaced with a giant hole. You made sure to be there for each other, especially when all the drama went down with Typhon and Jed. And when Ryan found out about his father, you could only imagine how he felt.
You remember countless nights staying up with him as he yelled and cried and questioned how his father could do such a terrible thing. There was nothing more you wanted to do than take his pain away, but all you could do was be there for him, and let him know that the people around him loved him.
You felt your face heat up when you recalled the nights he fell asleep on your shoulder after staying up late and filling up on takeout, and you shook your head as you walked back behind the counter. You knew your feelings for Ryan went way above platonic. The way he smiled, his laugh, that puppy dog look he gave you when he was confused or flustered. Everything about him made your heart flutter. And the way he would light up when he talked about his job or listed off random facts about the birds he saw when you two went on hikes, it all just made you fall for him even more.
Though, there was something nagging at the back of your head. If it was your birthday, why didn’t Ryan say anything to you earlier? You glanced up when you heard the bell above the door ring, and Alex greeted you with a small smile and a wave.
“Hey! How’ve you been, Alex?” you asked as she walked up, placing her hands on the counter. She shrugged her shoulders.
“Just came to pick up some flowers.”
You nodded and gestured over to the cooler, and she took her time as she looked over them, seeming to look for something specific. She finally reached in and pulled out a bouquet of roses, and you raised your eyebrows with a small smirk as she placed them in front of you.
“Ah. Special night with Steph?”
She shifted her gaze for a moment and let out a small laugh, reaching a hand up to rub the back of her neck. “You could say that. Oh, happy birthday, by the way.”
You smiled as you rang her up. “Thank you. Seems like everyone’s remembered except me. Well, and Ryan.”
Alex tilted her head as her brows furrowed. “Did he not say anything?” she asked, able to pick up the disappointment in your voice.
“No. But he was busy and seemed distracted when I saw him, so I don’t blame him.”
“I’m sure he’ll make it up to you.”
You nodded, and she gave you a reassuring look before grabbing the flowers and leaving, the jingling of the bell ringing loudly in the empty room. Fingers gripping the counter, you let out a shaky breath and dropped your head, trying to calm down the rapid beating of your heart. You felt pathetic. The mere mention or thought of Ryan seemed to make your heart race these days. It was a miracle you could even keep your composure around him. After being friends with him for so many years, you guess your conscience just couldn’t take it anymore.
But how could you ever confess to him? No, you couldn’t ruin your friendship like that. Ryan was one of the best things in your life, and you wouldn’t risk it for anything. Even if it meant keeping your feelings hidden.
“Hon, are you okay?”
You jumped when you heard Eleanor’s voice, looking up to meet her concerned gaze. You gave her a tight lipped smile and nodded.
“Yeah. Guess I’m just in my own head today.”
She hesitated before nodding and leaving you alone again, and you huffed as you placed your elbows against the counter. Today was going to be long.
***
“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay a little longer? I know there’s more to be done.”
“Oh stop it, you. I can take care of it. Go enjoy the rest of your night,” Eleanor said, practically pushing you out the door.
You sighed and reluctantly walked out of the shop, waving at her through the window before adjusting your bag on your shoulder and walking to your car. You were about to get in when you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket, and you took it out to see that Ryan texted you.
-6:11 Ryan:
Remember. Black Lantern after your shift.
You chuckled to yourself, quickly typing up a response.
-6:12 You:
Yes, Mister Park Ranger, sir
Har har. Just get your butt here.
-6:14 Ryan:
But not the rest of me? Idk if that’s possible, Ry.
-6:14 You:
You’re ridiculous.
-6:15 Ryan:
So you’ve told me. Be there in a few.
-6:16 You:
Pocketing your phone, you locked your car before walking down the main road towards the bar, wondering what Ryan’s urgency was. If it was to try another experimental drink, you were going to kick his ass. Last time that happened, you ended up throwing up your lunch. You arrived at the Black Lantern in just a few minutes, but when you opened the door and all the lights were off, you wondered if Ryan made a mistake.
“What the hell-”
“SURPRISE!”
The lights suddenly flickered on as people jumped up from where they were hiding, and Steph walked over with the biggest grin on her face as she blew into a noisemaker and threw paper confetti into the air.
“Happy birthday, loser.”
You scoffed, still reeling from the surprise before reaching up to pull a few pieces of confetti out of your hair. “You’re helping me get all this out later.”
She just laughed and threw an arm around your shoulders, leading you further into the bar. Everyone that you passed wished you a happy birthday, and you smiled and thanked them all, even accepting the hug Duckie gave you before you could walk past him.
“You guys really didn’t have to do this, you know,” you muttered, stopping at the bar when Steph went to grab a few beers.
“Nonsense! You never let us do anything special for your birthday. At least let us spoil you a bit this year.”
You sighed, shaking your head with a smile before looking down when you felt someone poke your arm. “Ethan! See, I knew the life of the party was here somewhere.”
He gave you a toothy grin before reaching behind him and pulling out one of his comics, nervously holding it out to you. “I uh, I wanted to give you something for your birthday. It’s an early copy of the newest volume I’m working on. I wanted you to get the first look at it.”
Your eyes slightly widened as you looked at the beautifully drawn cover, gently running your fingers over it. You had to admit, Ethan was crazy talented for a kid his age.
“Thank you, Ethan. I’m sure I’ll love it,” you said, and the boy nodded excitedly.
Hearing someone call your name, you looked up and saw Steph waving you over, Alex sitting with her in the booth. Taking a seat across from them, you narrowed your eyes as your gaze shifted between them.
“Alright, whose bright idea was this?”
They gave each other a look, trying to hold back their smiles as you heard someone behind you clear their throat.
“That would be me, actually.”
Turning in your seat, your eyes landed on Ryan standing behind you, a nervous smile on his face and his hands behind his back. Of course.
“Why am I not surprised?”
His grin widened for a split second before suddenly dropping, looking down at his shoes for a moment. “Um, can we talk outside for a sec?”
Nodding, you stood up from your seat to follow him, but you didn’t miss the giggles and quiet hushes coming from the two girls. You only got to glance back at them for a second before Ryan was placing a hand on your back and leading you out of the Lantern. The sun was almost finished setting, barely peeking out from the mountains in the distance as the water reflected beautiful oranges and yellows. No matter how long you lived in Haven Springs, you didn’t think you’d ever get used to how beautiful the sky was.
You and Ryan walked to the end of the dock, looking out at the water and mountains before you stole a glance at him. The way the light shone on his face, accentuating the curves and sharp lines of his features and reflected off his blue eyes- god, how could a man be so fucking pretty?
You quickly looked away before he could catch you staring, swallowing down the lump in your throat before you eventually turned your body towards him.
“Y’know, you didn’t have to-”
You could barely get your sentence out when Ryan was suddenly holding a bouquet of roses towards you, and you looked between his anxious expression and the red flowers for a moment before something in your head clicked.
Oh. Oh.
And then you were laughing. Ryan released the breath he seemed to be holding, his expression morphing into one of confusion before he let out a quiet chuckle of his own. “What’s- What’s so funny?”
Reaching out, your fist lightly punched his chest before you carefully took the flowers out of his hand, your laughter dying down into sporadic giggles.
“Nothing, just- wow. You’ve really outdone yourself, Lucan. Sending Alex to do your dirty work?”
A look of realization flashed across his features before he smiled and reached up to rub the back of his neck, face becoming flushed. “Uh, yeah. I didn’t want you finding out before the surprise, so…”
“Find out what?”
You could tell he was trying to come up with a proper response before he gestured towards the bouquet, and you took your time as you looked down at the beautiful arrangement. Roses. Red Roses. Flowers that made a very specific statement. And Ryan was giving them to… you. Disbelief filled you as you felt your heart suddenly jump up into your throat, and you looked up at Ryan with wide eyes.
“Ryan. I…”
“You don’t have to say anything. Just…” Taking the flowers from you, he carefully set them down and hesitantly reached out to grab your hands, the rough pads of his fingers brushing over your palms before your hands were entirely enveloped in his. “I… I don’t know if I can keep this a secret from you anymore.”
The way he was touching you was sending pulses up your arms, and you felt like you could barely breathe with how fast your heart was beating. “Ryan-”
“Please, just let me get this out. Then you can do whatever, walk away and never talk to me again if you want. I just need you to hear this.” You nodded, and he let out a breath as his grip on your hands tightened. “We’ve been friends ever since I can remember. Doing everything together, telling each other our deepest secrets and our greatest fears. I’ve told you things I’ve never told anyone before… And, I can’t exactly pinpoint in all that time where I fell in love with you, but I know it’s been a while since then.”
It was like the ground had just been taken out from under you, Ryan the only thing keeping you from falling as his confession slowly sunk in. He… loves you?
Holy fuck. Ryan loves you??
“I guess I just wanted today to be special for you, to show you how special you are to me. You’ve been with me through everything, seen every side there is to me. And the only person I can imagine having any type of future with… is you.”
The chirping of the crickets quickly filled the gaps of silence, the noise almost getting louder after Ryan stopped talking, and you could barely think about what he said when you had so many thoughts racing in your head. Shit, what were you supposed to say?
“Um, if you want me to leave-”
“No! No, um, I just need a second to process-”
“Oh! Yeah, no, totally. Uh, go ahead,” he said, letting go of your hands.
God, you were both fucking wrecks of human beings. You could mark off Getting a confession of love from your childhood best friend from your Shit I Never Expected to Happen list. Taking a deep breath, you stepped closer to Ryan and took one of his hands in both of yours, giving him a small smile.
“Listen, Ryan. I don’t need flowers or a surprise birthday party to feel special. I… I always feel special when I’m around you.”
“Sooo that means?”
You rolled your eyes, your smile growing. “It means kiss me, you dork.”
He didn’t waste any time as he carefully held your face in his hands before connecting your lips to his, and you smiled into the kiss as you wrapped your arms around him. You could mark kissing Ryan off that list, too. His hands moved from your face to wrap his arms around you, holding you close to his front as your hands came up to weave your fingers through his hair. As you leaned further into him, you heard a soft crinkling of paper, and momentarily broke the kiss so you could reach into the pocket of his flannel. Pulling out a piece of yellow paper, you unfolded it to reveal- Oh, jesus.
“Oh, my fucking god. Are you kidding me, Ry?” you laughed, turning the shitty sketch of the bird you’d drawn earlier towards him.
He just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. “I thought it could be a good luck charm, you know? Maybe while I’m out, I’ll actually find a rare species or something that looks like that. Could make you famous one day.”
You just shook your head as Ryan laughed, the sound causing a warm, fuzzy feeling to bloom in your chest.
“Who’s the ridiculous one now?”
“Oh, I think we tie for that one.”
Ryan cut your laugh off with another kiss, and you practically melted into him as that warm feeling spread throughout your body. It goes without saying, this was the best birthday ever.

Rebuilding Family
Summary: Y/N and Spencer were college sweethearts at Cal-Tech but once Spencer got accepted to the FBI Academy, he ended things deciding it was not fair to make Y/N wait for him. When they meet again years later, he discovers something unexpected.
Pairing: Spencer x Fem! Reader
Masterlist
Chapter 10
You were packing up your stuff as students filed out of the lecture hall, it was your last class of the day. As you were walking out towards the parking lot, your phone started to vibrate in your bag. It was the school.
“Hello?” you answered.
“Hi Y/N. It’s Mrs. Flynn. I was just calling to let you know that Jo is now waiting inside with me because she was getting cold outside,” she informed you.
“Spencer’s not there?” you questioned, looking at the time displayed on your phone.
Pickup time was fifteen minutes ago.
“I’m on my way. I’ll be there in ten minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience,” you opened your car door and set your bag down in the passenger seat, turning on the ignition.
“No worries, I have to reorganize the classroom library anyways so I was already planning on staying after.”
Once the call ended, you tried to call Spencer but it went straight to voicemail.
“Hey Spencer, I don’t know if you forgot but it was your day to pick up Jo. I’m getting her now,” you said as you reversed out of your parking spot.
Minutes later, your phone rang again. Expecting Spencer’s contact to show up on screen, your brow furrowed when the name read “JJ” instead.
“Hi JJ?” you said, more of a question than a greeting.
“Y/N, Spencer has been shot. I already told Will to go back to the school to pick up Jo. You should get here if you can. He’s in surgery now but there has been no update since he went in,” JJ explained.
“Oh my god. Okay, I’m turning around now. How did this happen? He didn’t mention he was on a case?” you pulled into a random parking lot to turn around.
“Well technically, we weren’t. We had a lead on a possible local case and we went to interview a potential witness who could give us some more information. We realized too late that he was the unsub. He thought we were on to him and shot Spencer in the leg while trying to escape.”
You had silent tears running down your face.
“I’m five minutes out” is all you could muster and then you hung up the phone.
You ran into the ER doors to find the rest of the team in the waiting room. You were glad you went to Rossi’s dinner party now or else this would have been a much more awkward first meeting.
“Any updates?” you asked frantically.
“No,” Derek sighed, “But no news is good news.”
You took the empty seat in between JJ and Penelope and put your face in your hands, not wanting everyone to see your tears.
-
Two hours of crappy coffee and vending machine snacks as your only source of sustenance later, a doctor emerged from behind the double doors.
She had a completely neutral expression that you couldn’t read but then again you weren’t a profiler.
“Dr. Spencer Reid?” she asked, glancing down at her clipboard.
All of you stood and desperately crowded around her.
“Dr. Reid is in stable condition and awake. The bullet went into his thigh but it wasn’t through and through. He will need to be on crutches for about a week or so but luckily the bullet wound is near the edge of his thigh rather than the middle, meaning recovery time will be shorter,” she explained.
There was a collective sigh of relief along with a few “thank god”s.
“Although he is awake, I don’t think it’s best if you all go in at once since he is very drowsy. He has been asking for a Y/N?” the doctor looked around at you all.
All eyes fell on you. You collected yourself, grabbing your purse and following the doctor down the hall.
“I’ll let you know how he is,” you told everyone before you disappeared past the double doors.
The doctor guided you into a room at the end of the hall. You thanked her quietly and she nodded in acknowledgement, leaving you two alone. Spencer had his eyes closed but his hospital bed was inclined so he was sitting up slightly. You briskly walked over and took the seat right beside him. You took his hand in yours and squeezed it lightly, combing his messy hair out with your fingers.
As you were softly massaging his scalp, you heard a light groan. You retracted your fingers immediately as Spencer began to open his eyes.
Once Spencer took in his surroundings, he quickly sat up completely in bed, letting out a yelp of pain.
“Jo...it was my turn to pick up,” he said frantically.
“Hey, look at me, Spence. It’s okay, she’s at JJ and Will’s. You were shot in the thigh though so you’re not going anywhere. Please lie back down,” you assured him.
He nodded his head, relaxing a bit and looking down at his hands in his lap. He seemed to be processing something in his head.
“You called me ‘Spence’,” he stated.
Shit. That was twice now. It keeps slipping.
“Sorry, I-,” you began to ramble some apology that you didn’t even know where you were going with it. Luckily, he stopped you before you could further embarrass yourself.
“I didn’t say it was a bad thing,” he spoke softly as he looked up at you, tears threatening to fall.
“I was so scared, Y/N,” he sobbed.
You swiftly pulled him into your embrace, tucking his head into your neck as you began to gently stroke his hair again.
“It’s okay, let it out. I can’t imagine what that was like. I’m so sorry you had to go through that but you're safe now, I promise,” you whispered to him.
“I was so afraid I was going to abandon you and Jo again. It hurt worse than the actual bullet,” he muttered into your neck.
You removed your hands from his hair and cupped his cheeks, forcing him to look up at you.
“Spencer Reid, you did not abandon Jo in the first place so there is no ‘again’. Second of all, you would have died a hero saving lives and I would have made sure Jo knew that and she never forgot her Daddy or how much he loved her,” you spoke earnestly, never breaking eye contact.
Spencer’s eyes softened. A second later, his lips were on yours again. This time, however, you didn’t pull away. Life was too short and this was already complicated as is, what’s the harm.
You basked in the familiarity of his lips locking with yours. Once he finally pulled away for air, he rested his forehead against yours.
“Go out with me. A real date. No more college dorm dates with takeout,” he smiled.
“You know you didn’t have to get shot to ask me out, right?” you teased.
“I thought I needed a grand gesture,” he beamed, chucking lightly.
“Yeah, Spence, I’ll go on a date with you.”
His lips found yours once again.
-
“Jo, are you ready?” you called out from the kitchen, packing snacks.
“Mommy, I’m already at the door!” she exclaimed.
Jo was eager to go see her Daddy at the hospital. You would spend the day there until he was discharged and then he would live with you guys for the week. You insisted on being there to take care of him while he was healing. You didn’t want him hobbling around all alone in his apartment.
When you walked out to the front entryway, there was a stack of various toys and books that hadn’t been there when you came down the stairs.
“What is this?” you gestured to the pile, amused.
“Daddy has big boo-boo so he needs stuff to cheer him up,” she stated.
“I don’t think we are going to be able to bring all this. Plus, remember Daddy is coming home with us later today. So here’s what we will do,” you handed Jo her dinosaur backpack, “You pack all the stuff you can fit in this bag that you think Daddy needs right away and the rest of the stuff can wait.”
Jo made quick work of sorting through her massive pile, trying to decide what would make her dad the most happy.
-
“Daddy!” Jo excitedly screamed, running towards the bed.
“Jo!” he returned with the same sentiment.
She was unable to get up on the bed herself so you had to lift her up.
“Remember what I said, careful with Daddy or he won’t get better,” you reminded her.
“You can sit her on my good leg,” Spencer patted his right thigh where you gently set Jo down.
“We brought you loads of stuff, Daddy,” Jo chirped, looking over at you.
You revealed a box of donuts from your bag and the coffee tray you had been holding. You handed him a chocolate frosted donut with sprinkles and Jo a strawberry frosted with sprinkles. The two ‘cheers’ed their donuts before biting into them.
“Jo also brought you some things to cheer you up,” you handed her her backpack.
First, she promptly pulled out a pink Disney princesses band-aid and stuck it on Spencer’s already bandaged thigh.
“You need that so it doesn’t get infected,” she repeated Spencer’s words from when she fell at Rossi’s dinner party.
“Thank you, princess. What would I do without you?” he kissed the top of her head as she rummaged around in her backpack some more.
She set up her five favorite dinosaur toys on his tray table in front of them, glancing up at him for approval.
“Perfect,” he smiled, nodding.
Next, she pulled out a piece of paper that had been colored on.
“Who’s this?” Spencer asked, looking at the three stick figures doodled on the paper.
“That’s you, that’s Mommy, and that’s me,” she pointed to each of the sketches.
“Aw, that one is definitely making the fridge,” you smiled.
Finally, Jo took out her Magic Tree House book that she was currently reading. She needed help with some of the words but either you or Spencer or the both of you would help her read it every night.
“You already finished the last one?” Spencer picked up the new book that was next in the series, examining it and smiling proudly.
“And I didn’t need help with a single word on the last chapter,” Jo beamed.
“You’re so smart,” Spencer kissed her head again, “let’s see how far we can get on this one before we can go home.”

warnings: fluff
Aizawa Shouta
Tumblr media
-He loves being a dad.
-Unlike his students his son, Kaito, is a very very calm two year old.
-They take naps together in their matching sleeping bags, Shouta is the only one who can feed him his vegetables and they usually grade papers together.
-You are the one who looks after Kaito while Shouta is at work and once he gets home you go off to your agency.
-So basically Kaito spends half of his day with you and half with Aizawa.
-When you were called in that morning because of a villain attack, you had to leave Kaito with Aizawa.
- “I’m so sorry Shouta, Midnight was assigned on this mission with me and I don’t really trust Hizashi with a two year old.”
-He chuckled, taking a sleeping Kaito from your arms and giving you a kiss on each cheek and then on your forehead.
- “Don’t worry kitten, I’m sure he will be an angel.”
-In the teachers lounge, before class starts for the day, nearly half of the staff is cooing over the still sleeping toddler.
-They keep complimenting Shouta about how much they look alike and how cute he is.
-He just grumbles about how he wants them away from his son.
-He was saved from the bell, dashing to his class surprising all of his students with his sudden appearance.
-They hadn’t yet seen the baby in his arms until he stirred in his sleep, a few baby words tumbling from his mouth.
-Mina was ready to let out a really really high pitched squeal when Sero slapped her mouth shut.
- “Its sleeping!”
-Aizawa just let out a sigh and set his stuff on his desk.
-He went to start his lesson like usual but that apparently wasn’t an option.
-Sir you have a baby in your arms don’t expect us to stay silent and learn something useful.
-Kaito woke up a few minutes into the whisper shouting argument Shouta was having with 18 teenagers.
-He slowly blinked the sleep from his eyes, letting out a small yawn before looking around, his e/c eyes landing on all the new faces.
-Everyone was silent, expecting the toddler to start crying at the change of scenery and at the absence of his mother but surprisingly no.
-He rested his head on Shouta’s shoulder and shyly waved at the class.
-Since he was awake Mina could be a little more vocal.
-All the girls wanted to hold him, their main mission being to make him laugh.
-Some of the boys were asking Aizawa some questions  while others were entertaining the toddler.
-Kaito was really amazed by Shouto’s flames and he let out a heart warming laugh.
-Uraraka made things float around the baby while Kaminari made small sparks.
-Aizawa has never heard his baby boy laughing that much before.
 -At home he’s quiet, laughing only when you tickle him or when Shouta’s stumble scratches his plush cheeks.
-Maybe taking him out more and letting the class hang out with him a little wouldn’t be so bad.
-The last person who approached the kid was Bakugou, who crouched down to his eye level and they just stared at each for a solid minute.
-Then Bakugou activated his quirk and the mini explosions made Kaito giggle and reach out to Katsuki.
-The rest of the day was spent fawning over Kaito, nothing changed even after three hours of toddler entertainment.
-When it was time to leave, the kids begged Aizawa to bring him again.
- “Maybe I’ll bring him to the dorms at some point. But don’t irritate me you brats because otherwise he’s staying home.”
Bonus:
“I heard that you, little man, were a heartthrob today!”
*baby babbling*
“Yeah he didn’t let me teach.”
“Like it bothered you.”
“I never said that”
Todoroki Shouto
Tumblr media
-You had to go on a mission abroad for a week and today the twins’ preschool had informed you that they wouldn’t open today.
-Frantically you called Shouto, proposing some solutions to your problem.
- “I’ll take them with me.”
-He wants to spend more time with his girls anyway.
-Both of them are very curious about their parents’ job and they have asked both of you to take them to work.
-This was their chance.
-You went to protest, knowing how stressing hero work could be and not wanting to stress your husband out more.
- “Love, I want them with me. I want to spend time with my snowflakes.”
-You couldn’t argue with that.
-He woke them up and helped them get dressed, leading them to the kitchen for breakfast while he simultaneously did their hair.
-The twins aren’t really morning types so they tend to be really quiet until noon.
-Telling them what they would be doing today, Shouto grabbed his things and stretched out both of his arms.
-When people at the agency saw the youngest Todoroki with two little girls clinging to his hands they were confused.
-They knew that he had a family, you two worked at the same agency after all, but they had never seen your kids.
-And let me tell you that 90% of your coworkers are now cooing at the three year olds.
-Shouto knew that his daughters didn’t really like crowds, even Rei who was the talkative one of the two would get shy and hide behind him when new people approached.
-Because of that he scooped both girls up and quickly made his way to his office.
-A few staff members greeting him and the girls but not many stopped him.
-Once inside he set them down and went straight to work.
-The girls are really quiet in general.
-They pulled two chairs on either side of their father and sat there, coloring and doodling or just staring at his reports.
-Surprisingly, Ren asked some questions while Rei stayed quiet.
-The crowd at the entrance must have exhausted her social battery.
-Pushing his chair back, he pulled both of them on his lap kissing their foreheads before going back to his reports making small comments here and there to keep them updated.
-Rei fell asleep after half an hour and it was the cutest sight.
-Ren followed soon after, the little white and red haired humans clinging to his shirt like a life line as they snoozed off.
-He took a picture and send it to you making you jealous beyond belief.
 I want cuddles too!!!  😣😣😣  Someone’s jealous.🥰🥰
-He leaned his head on one of them at some point and he too fell asleep.
-His secretary walked in to inform him of his father’s arrival and had heart eyes for the rest of the day.
-She took a picture and sent it to you, informing you that your husband was sleeping on the job.
-They were too cute though so she couldn’t bring herself to wake them up.
-But alas there’s no rest for the wicked so he woke up at some point.
-The rest of the day was spent with the three of them going to meetings, filing reports and training at the agency’s gym.
-Watching two mini Shoutos running around the gym pretending to train is top tier stuff.
Bonus
“Rei sweetheart don’t freeze your sister.”
“But she’s the bad guy!”
“Am not!” *flames flying*
“Ren don’t burn the place down.”
Shinsou Hitoshi
Tumblr media
-Kei is actually the one who wanted to go to the agency.
-She had asked both you and Shinsou to take her with you one day.
-She may be using it as an excuse to skip day care but you do you hun.
-It was her birthday and the little shit used that to her advantage.
- “Can I come with you to work? Pretty please?”
- “Kei...”
- “And it’s my birthday today.”
-You just level Shinsou with a glare.
- This is all you
-Shrugs.
-Now you have no choice but to take her with you and hope that everything goes smoothly.
-The main reason why you didn’t want to bring her with you was the looming possibility that someone could attack and your little girl would be in extra danger.
-Hitoshi reassured you that everything would be fine.
- “Her parents are two of the best heroes in the industry, she’ll be completely fine. I promise.”
-He woke her up the next morning, scooping her up and bringing her to the kitchen for breakfast.
-She was really clingy in the mornings and wouldn’t function correctly if one of you didn’t hug her until she fully woke up.
-Hitoshi is really soft for her during her birthday.
-He’s soft for her everyday but today he’s ten times softer.
-Gets her dressed and ready for the agency and is out the door in no time.
-Shinsou talks about his family a lot.
-He has like fifteen photos of you and Kei in his office and a bunch of her drawings tapped to the wall.
-He adores his family okay?
-So your coworkers aren’t so surprised when they see the small mess of violet hair resting in his arms.
-She too doesn’t like crowds but won’t cower away.
-She’ll put on a brave face and greet the strangers with acute politeness.
-As long as one of you is in a ten inch radius she’ll be fine.
-She answers all the questions that are being thrown her way.
-She even sat there and suffered through a handful of cheek pinching.
-Shinsou sees her suffering and scoops her up, excusing them and taking her to his office.
-You kissed her forehead and headed out to your own office, making her promise to visit you at some point because you too need some cuddles during work.
- “We’ll catch bad guys momma!!”
-She is a curious little girl, so for the next two hours or so she’ll be exploring every nook and cranny of Hitoshi’s office, opening drawers and cabinets, digging through case files and boxes.
-Then she might play with Hitoshi’s capture tool before visiting you for an hour or two.
-You love having her attention but you know she’s simply taking a break from her dad’s office.
-She’ll be back to Shinsou in no time.
-Daddy’s girl.....it iz what it iz.
-Around noon she starts to get tired.
-If she was in day care she would be taking her daily nap.
-Her exploring tired her way too much and that’s why she’s now snoozing off in one of the armchairs in Hitoshi’s office.
-He draped his jacket over her and let her sleep.
-Later on you two took her to a meeting, allowing her some insight in the hero industry.
-Plus she gets to hear the tea.
-For training she tags along with you, doing some laps and trying -and failing- to do some push ups.
-At the end of the day she was exhausted, sleeping soundly on Hitoshi’s shoulder as you made your way home.
Bonus
“I don’t want her to grow up.”
“Well we could always make another one.”
“Way to be subtle mister....”
“Let me smash...”

Hello, may I request for Albedo hcs for an s/o who is inattentive? For example, the reader has difficulty reading long sentences or paying attention for a short time span, and ends up zoning out a lot? (If you're comfortable with this request of course, since it comes from me having inattentive adhd, or if you aren't too busy...) (But other than that please take care of yourself (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)) Thank you ( ╹▽╹ )
:DD
Somehow these requests are pulling out my Psychology teachings ahahha- this is honestly such a nice prompt cuz I miss my college roomie, I love her so much and she has adhd. I might be projecting but I'll be using her techniques in this too! This was so cute and fun to work on awwwwwwwwww thank you anon!
The Curious Case of S/O
Albedo with a Reader that has a hard time focusing
Tumblr media
I saw someone hc Albedo as an autistic character and I actually agree with it, so some of that aspect will seep in to this answer eheh-
SO!
When it comes to things Albedo is passionate about, he keeps himself grounded and focused on it for an unhealthy period
So when Albedo found out about your curious case, safe to say he was intrigued too, and sometimes frustrated
You’re all over the place and it kind of irks him when you can’t stay put and just- keep moving to different stuff?
But Albedo knew this before you got together and he took it upon himself to make sure you’re taken care of whenever such episodes happen, he’s your lover and a genius, he can and will find a way
Reading: Albedo loves reading literature and will offer to read out the text for you if you get frustrated enough over it. He may not have all the time in the world, but if it’s important that you understand this text he will make sure you do so
His voice is really nice and calming, but sometimes- you get so lost in them that you ended up just focusing on his voice instead of uhhh paying attention to what he was saying
big sigh
If that approach doesn’t work then he’s got another trick up his sleeves!
Doodles, sketches, all that cute artistic stuff!
There’s a chance you already do this but he’s gonna make this 95% more effective!
When taking notes for big texts, he’s gonna draw little doodles to the side so you can get a good grasp of what it means just by looking over it.
If the text is especially long, he’ll give it a quick once over, and then rewrite it just to highlight the most important parts you need to remember
He’ll take it up a notch and use different colored pens to write over it so you would know what you need to read without going through the whole chapter
If he wills it, Albedo would find himself incorporating such techniques on his notes as well and he’ll just chuckle at his antics (smiling every time he remembers you through his lil notes)
Being inattentive also makes it so you forget or not take note of important stuff
Chief Alchemist also has a good remedy for this!
Given, this was established after numerous trials and errors of finding the best route
F I N G E R  R I N G  B A N D S
This boyo had this genius enlightenment of an idea one day and prepared the necessary materials
Ngl you actually thought he was gonna propose when he offered that golden ring, you were about to cry
until you see him bring out ten more rings, multi-colored
w h a t
And so he explains as he grasps your non-dominant hand:
“Your thumb represents the early morning, from when you wake up after the sun.
Your index finger signifies the period of 12PM, the moments the busy-ness starts, never forget to eat lunch always, darling.
Your middle finger is the longest and busiest hour, the middle of the afternoon where the sun is high up in the sky. You’ll find yourself running around a lot during this period, and I won’t always be there to remind you.
Your ring finger,” he pauses to give it a gentle kiss, “someday. But anyways, this is the period when the darkness starts to devour the sky in place of the sun. You should be cleaning up and finishing all other tasks at this period.
And finally your pinky finger, almost at the dead hours of the night, god knows what you’ll be doing at this time when you should be ready for rest. I don’t want to see a lot or any rings here, for you should be in my arms by this time.”
After that heart-warming, proposal-like dialogue, he’ll offer the rings and explain as best he can
The red ring represents deadlines; blue stands for commissions; white is for meet-ups; pink is for self-care or routines
He holds up the gold rings with a soft smile, placing one in each finger as he explains, “This one stands for me. Make sure that on every finger I am there, to remind you that I wish to know how you are, to accompany me so that I can remind you that I love you every day of the year.”
If you’re still alive after this, good for you
OTherwise I’m dead, this man is so cheesy and hnghhh-
After all that, Albedo wakes up with you and helps you organize your rings for the day <3
It looks nice and glamorous on your hand, and even if you get distracted by it, you’ll find yourself being reminded of what you need to do
Genuis boyo
But that’s not even 100% of his power
nononono he has another solution and this was something he picked up after spending time with you
His pretty t e a l eyes (just look at that damn banner)
You seem to stop everything when he focuses his eyes on you, eye contact, like you’re grounded or crystallized
Somehow when you see eye-to-eye it gives him enough time to remind you that you’re focusing on the wrong thing, go back to your notes
It’s just- so pretty :((
Works 99% of the time!
The rare 1% it doesn’t work tho, you get this very rare moment: before you can even move away from your task, finding yourself not caring about it again, he’ll just wrap his arms around you from behind. They’re comfortably tight, grounding your feet to the floor as he whines against your hair, scolding you and telling you to finish your stuff first
You couldn’t say no to a cute whiney Albedo
You can’t
//brings out knife// You better not-
Bonus: Albedo likes to focus on the important things, but he’s easily intrigued by curious things too
And with your tendency to lose focus and notice other things, this becomes a chaotic series of events
You’re both silently sitting in his laboratory, him sketching a diagram of his current research
You look up from the papers you were reading as you lose focus and the movement would easily catch Albedo’s attention, ready to move his lips to call you back-
“Oh, is that Crystalfly changing colors out there?”
“Huh?”
You’re both rushing to the window where you saw the phenomenon
And then you’re both running out to investigate further <3
All of Mond watches you two’s antics and finds you just to be the cutest couple in existence. Albedo has two Klee’s to take care of, is what it would look like sometimes.

24th December
Home was just the way you’d remembered it.
From the Goldchild Ivy covering the white colored walls and the stepping stones leading all the way to the main entrance to the way your parents kept nagging you about your “future” with Adrian Pucey.
“You still haven’t told me what kind of dress you’d like to wear to the ball.” Your mum reminded you after taking a small sip from her wine glass.
“I don’t know mother.” You sighed,stabbing repeatedly at the sautéed mushroom on your plate. “Can’t I wear something I already own? Like the blue one I wore last year.”
“Well, what is Adrian wearing? May I suggest some colour coordinating?”
“I really don’t know mother.” You coughed.
“Well, why don't you ask him?”
“I can't.” You mumbled dropping your fork on your plate. The loud clanging sound earned you an eyebrow raise from your otherwise quiet father.
“Why not?”
“We broke—we aren’t seeing each other anymore.” You said quietly before quickly standing up and dismissing yourself from the dining table before your parents could ask you a thousand questions.
As you walked away from the table and towards the balcony, you could still hear your parents calling after you while simultaneously speculating about just what you may have done to scare Adrian away.
You weren’t going to tell them about Draco because you weren’t even sure what to tell them.
I broke up with Adrian because I’m sleeping with Draco Malfoy.
Yes, the one that is getting engaged soon.
No we’re not together.
I may or may not have developed feelings for him.
Yes, it is inconvenient because I have no idea how he feels.
Did I mention he is getting engaged?
You tugged on the sleeves of your sweater to warm your hands up as you stared up at the surprisingly clear night sky splattered with only a few clouds and shimmering stars.
You took it upon yourself to start counting the stars to distract yourself from thinking about Draco again.
Unbeknownst to you, Draco was standing on the balcony of his room trying not to think of you too.
The only difference for him was that the sky was a little less cloudy where he lived and he wasn’t going to bother counting stars.
“Happy Christmas Draco.” You whispered to yourself,staring at the shiny emerald ring on your finger.
“Happy Christmas Y/n.” Draco mumbled into the night air as he fidgeted with your amethyst ring.
~~~~~~~~~~
25th December
It was a surprisingly quiet Christmas Morning at the Y/l/n household.
Your parents were still fast asleep when you walked towards the kitchen to fix yourself a cup of coffee.
It was probably because your parents hadn’t quite processed your break up with Adrian and had spent their night discussing it.
Seeing it was Christmas, you decided to put a dash of white chocolate and whipped cream in your cup of caffeinated goodness in order to feel a bit more festive.
You were feeling anything but festive.
There was a kind of dread crushing your insides when you thought about the ball.
You’d have to watch him dance with her and kiss her lips at midnight.
Fuck, you’d have to congratulate him after he slipped a ring onto her perfectly manicured finger.
Just when you were about to take a sip of your drink, you heard a knock on your door.
You frowned and walked towards the door because it was way too early on in the morning for anyone to come over.
When you yanked the door open, you saw him of all people, standing on the other side of the door with his white blond hair messier than usual.
He was wearing one of his rare genuine smiles that showed his pearly whites making you feel wobbly in the knees.
“Draco—What are you doing here?”
“Happy Christmas to you too.” He said with the smile still fixed on his lips. “Tell me y/l/n is this how you greet all of your houseguests?”
“How rude of me.” You muttered to yourself still befuddled as you stepped back to let him in. “Come in, sit down. Cup of tea?”
“I’m actually in a bit of a hurry.” He said as he fidgeted with his blazer pocket. “Just came to drop off something—ugh hold this.”
He placed a pack of cigarettes in the palm of your hand before fumbling with his pocket again.
“Ahh. There we go.” He retrieved a lilac colored box from his pocket and brought it back to its normal size before handing it to you.
“What’s this?”
“What does it look like y/n?”
“But—But I haven't even gotten you anythi—”
Before you could finish your sentence, he leaned in, tenderly pressing lips against yours.
The softness of his lips made the heaviness you were feeling on your shoulders fade away as you faded into him—only him and the way he held you firmly around the waist as he suckled on your bottom lip.
“Thank you.”  You whispered burying your face into his chest, trying to inhale a scent of his cologne. “Thank you.”
When Draco left, you ran up to your room and opened the lilac box to find a blush coloured slip dress folded neatly with a note on top of it written in his neat handwriting.
~~~~
Dear Y/n
I really am sorry about what happened to your old silk dress but I just couldn’t help myself.
I hope you’ll understand.
I also hope I get to see you wear this one someday.
Yours,
D.L.M

26 December
The day after Christmas, the boys decided to do a little cleanup.
Quidditch and house memorabilia, novelty artefacts they no longer cared enough for and items of emotional value.
The boys wanted a fresh start.
A clean break.
A clean slate.
Theo and Blaise were done with their cleaning so they were now at the Manor helping Draco who was surprisingly not very convinced about the whole “fresh start” ordeal.
“Remember this?” Theo chuckled, clearing out all the books that covered Draco’s desk and using his wand to cast a quick spell that revealed carvings they’d made the summer before their second year.
“Oh?” Blaise gleefully raised his eyebrows walking towards Theo. “I’d forgotten about this.”
Draco rolled his eyes and followed Blaise and the three boys stood around the table reading out everything they’d managed to carve out.
There were some very unholy words, tally sticks and unfortunate looking doodles of Harry on the table.
“Theodore Nott was here.” Draco read out loud looking unimpressed.
“Read this one.” Theo chuckled pointing at a carving. “Daphne Greengrass + Blaise Zabini.”
“Hey! We were barely second years.” Blaise protested while his eyes kept scanning the table.
As Blaise’s vigilant eyes trailed to the farthest corner of the table, a wicked grin started to form across his cheeks making Draco’s face turn pale.
“Y/n Y/l/n.” Blaise read out loud smirking at Draco. “Well well Malfoy—From the second year?...Interesting.”
“It was always obvious even though he expressed himself in questionable ways.” Theo shrugged.
“What was obvious?” Draco quirked an eyebrow with a scowl on his face.
“The fact that you were and are absolutely enamoured with y/n.” Theo rolled his eyes. “It has always been obvious to everyone but you. Back me up here Zabini.”
Draco crossed his arms and looked at Blaise who just gave him an apologetic shrug. “I’m sorry but he’s right mate.”
“I am not enamoured with y/n.”
“If you say so.” Blaise shrugged.
“And what if I were?” Draco spat, clearly irked by the condescending look on Blaise’s face.
“If you are, then I only have one question for you.” Blaise said with carefully selected words.
“And the question is?”
Blaise went quiet for a brief second before looking at Draco, dead set in the eye.
“What is holding you back, Malfoy?”
~~~~~~~~~~
27th December
Draco wondered what life decisions he’d taken to find himself seated at a murky little pub with Astoria reclining against his shoulders—sipping on Butterbeer.
Pansy, Theo and Blaise were taking shots next to him and you were awkwardly seated right across the table next to Adrian fucking Pucey.
What was he doing here anyway? Who even invited him?
Even though he’d overheard you telling Pansy that Adrian was there only because of your parents nagging you, seeing you seated together bothered him nonetheless.
Draco wasn’t even meaning to eavesdrop on your conversation with Adrian but he just couldn’t help but divert all his attention to your sweet voice and the way your lips moved.
You were telling Adrian about the sweet shop next door and Draco’s lips involuntarily twitched and curved upwards when he noticed just how excited you were about sweets.
It was like you softened him—made him vulnerable. And the whole feeling terrified him.
Between smoking his fifth cigarette, occasionally chatting with Astoria and looking at you from the corner of his eye, one rather simple thought encircled Draco’s mind.
Why didn’t he knock Pucey off his broom when he had the chance to?
~~~~~~~~~
28th December
Lightning crashed. Thunder clapped.
Fat drops of rain started to fall on the enormous glass window in Draco’s bedroom.
You placed your finger on the glass as you watched the infinite droplets race all the way to the bottom of the window.
The howling winds brought in the scent of wet grass and sent the dark curtains flying in all different directions.
You took in the smell of fresh rain and sighed sinking blissfully into his embrace.
Lucius and Narcissa were away, preparing for the upcoming ball and Draco had owled you asking to meet.
And so, both of you were now sitting on the windowsill in his room that was much larger than the one in the abandoned classroom.
In fact, it was so spacious that it served as his own personal reading nook—complete with a velvety throw blanket and some cushions.
His hands held open a book and you let yourself get comfortable between his long limbs, still counting raindrops on the window.
“What are you doing?” He asked looking towards you and away from the worn out pages of his book.
“I’m watching the raindrops race each other.” You said with your eyes still fixed on the glass. “infinite little droplets.”
“It's just rain.” He shrugged as his eyes went back to his book. “Quite mundane if you ask me.”
Sure rain was mundane.
But this rain felt different. It sent you into a state of melancholia.
You couldn’t dare to tell him but those infinite droplets resembled the amount of times you’d wanted to tell him that you loved him.
Even though you couldn’t find the courage to tell him, it was like the look in your eyes gave it all away.
It made his features soften as he slowly shifted and got up from the nook to fully open the window.
You shielded yourself as cold drops of rain started to hit your face. “What in the actual fuck?”
“Shut up and follow me.” He said as he climbed out of the window and onto the ledge.
“Are you mental?”
“Just do as I say.” He said helping you onto the ledge.
Both of you laughed hysterically as the rain seeped through your clothes as you sat on the ledge with your bare feet dangling in the air.
One wrong move and both of you could fall to our deaths. But there came an adrenaline rush with the risk of it all.
He pushed away the hair sticking to your face and brought your face close to his before pressing his rain soaked lips to yours.
Theo was right.
He was fucking enamoured.
~~~~~~⚜️~~~~~~~~
After coming back inside, you walked into his ensuite to fix your ruined hair and cast a quick drying charm to your clothes before heading home.
You had barely managed to pick at the tangles in your wet hair when an equally soaked Draco walked up behind you—clothes sticking to his toned body and hair sticking to his face.
“Draco. Sorry for hogging the mirror. I thought I’d be done sooner but these tangles are—hmmm.”
He wrapped his arms around your waist from behind you and pressed his cold lips against the base of your neck.
Even though your hair was entangled and unruly, you looked bewitching to him.
Especially the way the thin and drenched fabric of your seafoam colored dress draped your body—transparent and accentuating all your curves.
He just couldn’t help himself from unzipping your dress while he admired the sight of your dress slowly leaving your body in the mirror in front of you both.
“Draco?” You whispered as you watched his lips move their way from your neck to your shoulders. His hands gently gripping and massaging your breasts.
“Yes?” He whispered into your hair as he began nipping on your earlobe—his hands never leaving your breasts.
You wanted to tell him that you were in love with him but the words just refused to leave your lips.
“I—I missed you so much.” You said instead as you watched the corners of his mouth twitch.
He didn’t say a word back.
Hips lips were too occupied with sucking love bites against your skin.
He didn’t need to tell you that he missed you too. The deep reddish purple markings on your body said it all.
Draco intertwined his fingers around yours and placed your palms flat against the marble basin in front of you.
Your dainty fingers brought out the verdant tones of the emerald ring and Draco couldn’t help but admire his family heirloom on you.
He slowly moved his hands up your arms and let them brush against your bare back—trailing lower and lower till he was barely touching your soaking wet cunt.
“You like it when I touch you here?” He murmured pushing one of his fingers inside for a fleeting second.
“Hmmm.” You moaned gripping tightly onto the basin and pushing your hips backwards to get more.
Draco brought his hand to your arse and struck once causing you to hiss through your teeth.
“Words darling—use your words.”
“Yes….” You whimpered, opening your eyes to stare into the reflection again. There was a kind of unrestrained hunger in his eyes that only made you want him more.
“Good girl...so fucking perfect..so beautiful.”
He reached out and wrapped his left hand around your throat and brought your face close to him while the pad of his right thumb rubbed steady circles on your throbbing clit.
He loved that you were always so wet and ready for him.
“Draco..I want you inside me..Please..”
He could have spent hours on end just teasing you with his fingers and tongue if he could. There was just something about you that just made him want to take his time to worship you—to ruin you.
But time was not on his side and the reflection in front of him was making him increasingly impatient so he did not tease you any further. He simply unbuckled his trousers and pushed his cock where it belonged.
“Fuck...yes Draco..”
A whimper let your lips at the sudden push and your knuckles turned pale as you gripped tightly onto the marble basin.
“Look at you…” He murmured against your shoulder as he stared ahead into the mirror—his cock pounding in and out of you. “Taking my cock like such a good girl.”
He let go of your throat and used his hands to hold your hips firmly in place as he fucked you mercilessly.
Every time you two had fucked before this, Draco had constantly reminded himself to be a little gentle with you—but today, he wanted to wreck you.
He wanted you to scream his name in a bittersweet mix of pure pleasure and pain as he fucked you relentlessly.
“More...Draco...oh..fuck…yes.”
Beads of tears started to slip out of your eyes and you started to squirm—clenching him inside of you as your started to feel your orgasm approach.
“Don’t.” He growled digging his nails into the flesh at your hips. “Don’t fucking come just yet.”
You winced when he slipped himself out before carrying you back to his room where he sat down at the edge of the bed—positioning you on his lap with your legs on either side as he slipped back into you.
Draco let you adjust to the new position for a few seconds as you gripped his shoulders as you moved your hips, slowly riding his cock.
“My perfect little slut.” He sighed cupping your face in his hands as you continued to move against him.
After letting you ride him for a little longer, he gripped your hips and started to pound into you making your tits bounce up and down.
“Feels so good Draco—feels so fucking good. Oh god yes.”
With one hand on your arse and his mouth attached to your nipple Draco kept thrusting into you till the room was filled with the sound of your screams mixed with the sound of his skin slapping against yours and the sound rain splattering against the window glass.
“Fuck y/n...your cunt is so perfect, you take me so fucking good..god.”
“Harder…”
“So good when you clench me in like that... fuck y/n..I need to fucking fill you up…”
“Draco please..don’t fucking stop...oh..I’m so close..”
You always submitted to him so easily, he enjoyed the control he had over you.
But your sweet moans, the way your lips moved when you sighed his name was enough to make him weak for you.
You were completely oblivious to the power you held over him.
He loved you.
And he wanted to say the words out loud over and over again.
“I love—I love being inside you..I have missed you so much” He said instead.
“Draco I’m—I’m fucking cumming.” You whined as he continued to move his hips.
“Let go. Fucking cum y/n. Cum with me.”
You let your head fall against his shoulders and dug your nails into his biceps as you succumbed to your orgasm.
He soon followed, painting your walls with his release as he murmured sweet nothings into your skin.
You held each other close as you both recovered from your highs and and when he eventually fell asleep you whispered into his ear.
I’ll be thinking of you too Malfoy.
~~~~~~~~~
29th December
Once glimpse of the calendar and all the feelings you had shoved into a deep dark part of your mind trickled out in the form of tears.
Silent tears.
The kind of tears you cry when the silence of the night gets unbearable.
The kind where you suppress the sound of your wail and hopelessly try and mute any kind of sniffle by pressing your face hard into the pillow because you don’t want to wake anyone up.
Silent tears are the most painful of tears when mixed with the sound of the clock ticking.
For some bizarre reason, every second gets more prolonged than the other.
You had tried to hold it together for days. You tried to pretend like Draco’s engagement didn’t bother you.
But it did.
You turned your head on your very damp pillow and eyed the pack of smokes on your night stand. Draco had left when he came to drop off your present.
On an impulse, You stepped out of your bed as your trembling fingers reached for the 25 pack of expensive looking cigarettes.
The second you opened the box, the slight scent of nicotine wafted up your nose and you slowly placed a cigarette at the corner of your chapped and dry lips and lit it up.
Like always, you coughed and wheezed the second you inhaled.
You hated how it felt.
But you loved how close you suddenly felt to Draco.
In a twisted kind of way, It felt like you were submerged in his presence again.
Your lips tasted like they had been kissed by him again.
The more you inhaled the better it felt.
In a fucked up kind of way, The word felt right again.
And slowly, the night faded into morning as one cigarette turned into another.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
30th December
Pansy had flooed to your hour the minute she received a letter last night in your drunken handwriting talking about how amazing cigarettes were and how pretty Astoria was.
With a mug filled to the brim with tea in between her hands, she rested her back against the armchair in your room, tilting her head to get a better look at you.
Your face was pressed sideways against the pillow and she could tell you’d been crying by the dried mascara stains on your cheeks.
A half smoked cigarette was pressed into the makeshift ashtray that you’d made out of your bedside table making Pansy wonder if she’d ever seen you this miserable.
Your duvet was barely covering your shoulders and just as Pansy was standing up to pull them up, your bedroom door creaked open.
“I just wanted to drop something off.” Draco  mumbled almost like he was talking to himself as he took a step into the room—hand in his blazer pocket.
Pansy didn't say a word as she watched Draco with her eyes narrowed. She observantly watched him pull out a tiny box from his pocket and mumble a spell to restore it to its original size.
“What are those?”
“Assorted sweets.” He said softly, with his gaze not leaving your sleeping form once. “She wouldn’t stop talking about exploding bonbons the other night at the pub.”
Pansy heaved out a sigh as she watched Draco place the box of sweets on your bedside table before reaching to gently push away your hair from your face.
“Don’t get me wrong Draco, but you really shouldn’t be here right now.”
His weary eyes flickered as he turned to look questioningly at Pansy—retreating his hand from your face.
“You are getting engaged tomorrow—look at her, look at the state she is in. She won’t say it out loud but It’s clearly killing her.”
As much as Draco hated agreeing with Pansy, she was right.
Even while asleep, you looked worn out and restless with your eyebrows scrunched up indicating tension.
He wasn’t even going to get himself started on the cigarettes and wine bottles on your night stand.
“Will you let her know that I came by?” He looked half expectantly at Pansy who gave him an apologetic smile in return. “Never mind I guess.”
As Draco reluctantly backed away from you,  Blaise’s words lingered in his mind.
What is holding you back Malfoy?
(To be continued...)
Part 6: Final Chapter Preview:
The Malfoy Manor was being decorated and every little detail of the decor screamed nothing but aristocratic, pristine, perfect.
It was like everything was just a futile attempt to conceal the dullness, loneliness and the fucked up pure blood traditions hiding deep within the manor walls.
Much like his so-called arrangement with Astoria that seemed so perfect on paper.
Pure blood families, rich family history, old money.
What could go wrong right?..
Two months. Two months that had felt like eternity.
Your pen tapped at the table to your desk as you watched the minutes pass by. To your right, your desk calendar with your little countdown smiled at you with the little doodles had drawn along with the stickers that you had decorated there.
Five more days!
The golden hour of the day passed by outside your window upon the city that you had been calling home for the past two months. It was gorgeous. Unreal even. Studying abroad had been harder than you had expected--although it was often exciting at other times too. There was not a day that passed when you had regretting doing it, but there were other days when you had wished you could just transport yourself right back home; even if it meant it would be for only a couple hours of so.
During nights like these, your cramped little studio felt even more empty than usual. The colors of gold and pink would smear in the skyline along with pale pink clouds that looked softer and lusher than anything else in the world. In the springtime, the budding and green trees lined the outside of the apartment complex and birds twittering past would flutter their wings outside of your window cracked open slightly. As the days went by, the air warmed and became more humid, and smelled of luxurious primrose and hyacinths.
Your room was dimly lit by your desk lamp, and you hadn’t bothered to turn on any other light. Pages wrinkled, and your sense of loneliness came creeping in like the cold winter that the new season had now just chased away. You didn’t want the feeling to linger, but you couldn’t help but let it.
The sheets of your bed were cozy, much like the rest of the way that you had decorated your studio. The cream colored covers felt like silk on your legs, but where nothing compared to the touch that you craved.
Your phone clicked on with it’s blue-white light, showing your screensaver: a beautiful sunset image of that last walk that you had taken of the two of them before you had left.
If it were possible, you imagined that missing one person was enough to shatter a heart, but two people?
You hugged your phone to your chest, feigning some semblance of a hug to the two of them. Your nose sniffled as it grew more stuffed, and you let your suppressed sobs fill up the space of the room.
You were convinced that you must've been the the luckiest or the unluckiest person in the whole world: two loves of your life, two people to share it all with had been like a dream come true. It was finally something that felt like it made sense. But, to be so closely tied to two people, meant that being away from them hurt two times as much.
You imagined them with you in your room: they loved to sandwich you in the middle of them. This was their favorite place to have you. Nothing had been warmer and safer than that. Arms and legs would be all tied together in a way that made little sense, and both of their quiet breathing would tickle at the skin of the back of your neck and your forehead. If there was anything that you had guessed you missed most, it would be falling asleep with them. “I love you’s” would be whispered, and all space between you dissapear once the down comforter would be pulled to your noses.
No matter how hard you pretended that they were there, it was never the same.
[it takes three to make a thing go right] binnie, sungie, me
binnie: have you had dinner yet? please don’t forget!
jisung: [see image] this is what we’re having for breakfast! we wish you were here with us!
With shaking fingers you opened the picture to view Jisung’s attempts at cooking. He had been getting into it these days. You had almost wished sometimes that you had been there to try whatever he had concocted--even if it didn’t taste the best. Today it looked like he had tried to make fluffy pancakes with strawberries and cream...but they didn’t end up as fluffy as they should’ve been. Changbin was in the background of the picture making a couple finger hearts. Undoubtedly Jisung had asked him to do it for the picture: Changbin was more of the no-nonsense and stoic type with somewhat of a goofy edge. You and Jisung always knew how to make him melt. “You two are my weaknesses you know?”
sungie: don’t stay up too late either! finish strong before you come back, okay?
binnie: we really can’t wait to see you, five days can’t come soon enough.
You sniffled, sitting up. Had they been there then, they wouldn’t have liked to see you cry. Although your heart stung with a sharp pain seeing them so happy together, you brought yourself back together. You knew exactly how it would’ve been: Jisung would dry your tears gently, then cuddle right up under your arm to nuzzle into your shoulder. Behind the both of you, Changbin would spread his arms wide so both of you could be wrapped up in him.
me: i really miss you both. i miss you so, so much. i can’t wait to see you on Friday. don’t have too much fun without me until then :)
binnie: you kidding? we’re miserable without you!! i think that we’re both going crazy.
sungie: he’s right!! it feels so weird, it always has been these past months.
we’re not complete without you, y/n. we miss you too sooooo much.
and you know that bin gets crabby sometimes. when it’s just me around...
bin: hey! the hell you mean crabby?! i’m a frickin angel!!!
The way that you could read each of their messages in their voices brought you comfort, and you giggled a little reading the words.
sungie: relax! i’m just trying to make her laugh. did i succeed?
me: you did sungie. :)
bin: you forget that i’m sitting right next to you sung, you’re playing a risky game.
sungie: ooooh he talks such big talk, are you seeing this y/n? do you see what i mean? plz come back and save me!!!
bin: HEY
me: binnnnn go easy on sungie.
bin: i do!!!
i only go rough when he asks me too ;)
sungie: w o w
While it did make you laugh, it still hurt a little thinking about how even with you missing, their lives still went on, they ate meals together, went to concerts, movies, out to eat, and, at the end of the day, they still had eachother to cuddle up with to sleep. It hurt even more thinking about how they still had eachother to satisfy other comforts. Of course, you were still involved over the phone and video calls too, but with thousands of miles of distance, your hands alone could never feel as mind-blowing as theirs.
binnie: there will be plenty of that when you get back too y/n ;) sung has maybe had it too easy.
me: hmm too easy?
Jisung send a series of emoji stickers that all conveyed about the same message: oh my god i’m in trouble.
binnie: anyway, jokes aside, we are really looking forward to friday. sungie and i have been talking about it and we think we just want to spend the night in if that’s okay with you? you’ll be tired too.
As always, your boyfriends were the most considerate people in likely the whole world. You didn’t really want to be anywhere else, but just with the two of them; as close as you possibly could be.
me: that sounds perfect. <3
sungie: get some rest tonight!! in the morning get yourself something nice for breakfast, i can send you some money hehe
binnie: boyfriend of the year award over here ! !
sungie: hey, we’re both boyfriend of the year! duh, she loves us the same???
me: that’s very true.
binnie: pffff
sungie: don’t make me tackle you seo changbin, i am sitting right next to you
binnie: is that a promise?
me: boys, boys stop fighting, you’re both boyfriend of the year.
binnie: see? y/n, we’re a mess without you.
sungie: changbin, you’re my boyfriend of the year too. does that make you feel better?
binnie: maybe.
sungie: we’re keeping y/n from getting dinner. we should shut up now.
anyhoo!
we love and miss you a lot a lot. take care until friday! we’re almost there!!!!
binnie: BUT I LOVE HER MORE
sungie: bin, i love you, but please, shut up.
binnie: i’m joking!! sungie i’m joking. this is an equal relationship obviously.
By now, their usual antics had left your tearstained face dry, and the corners of your mouth sore from how hard you had smiled.
binnie: see you soon! goodnight y/n!
sungie: night y/n <3
You clicked your phone closed, then let your weight drop down to your pillow that held the smell of the evening air.
“It’ll be sooner than you think.” You sighed.
It was much too nice of a night to be doing homework, so you decided to push it off for just a couple more hours, flicking on your dinky TV set to a local station where they spoke in the language that you had been teaching to yourself for the past couple months. Here and there you could recognize a few words, but you mostly liked it for the noise.
You pulled your thin sheet over your bare legs, merely enjoying the simplicity of the feeling over your whole body.
there will be plenty of that when you get back home too.
we love and miss you a lot a lot.
Two months for imagining...and you had learned to hone your skill especially, even if it didn’t feel the same. Even though missing them hurt, you could still feel the love from them from thousands of miles away. They had said themselves that they didn’t feel complete without you.
The silky feeling sheets tickled at the hairs on your arms as your hand teased down your stomach, then toyed with the elastic of your panties under cotton shorts. You blamed it on the night being especially pleasant, or maybe it was just what you and needed at that moment.
You wondered how much they had missed you, if they thought of you when their hands would run over each other, or perhaps even if they would imagine that you were there with them when they hold each other close, tiny gaps and moans stick on their lips while they would pleasure each other too. You in fact had thought of them: Jisung’s pretty moans and the way that Changbin liked to suck little bites into his neck.
That spring air hushed into your window with the softness of a song, and curious fingers dipped into your folds and twitching bud which was wet to the touch. Your body jolted at the feeling of your fingers on your suddenly needy clit. Your mind ran wild thinking of the way that both of them had looked beside you, one of their hands dipping under the fabric of your panties and the other lightly twisting at your nipples too. Absentmindedly, your own hand reached to mimic the action on your breast while you remembered. Careful kisses would be pressed into your cheek and neck while they whispered adoring little praises in your ears.
“You’re so beautiful baby, like nothing else.”
“We love you so much. My princess, such a good girl for me, hm? You like how our hands look on you?”
Your body shivered at the memory, and you rubbed circles into your clit, gathering your own sticky slick to rub over the sensitive bud.
“Yes,” You whispered to the empty room.
The golden setting sun reflected fractals of tiny rainbows into your room--just as your prism had done hanging in the window back at home. It would reflect on the stucco walls, and the colors would streak on the ceiling. You would catch sight of them laying tangled up in scattered sheets with both of their bodies prowling over you in bare skin. You could trace the curves of their shoulder blades like the edge of perfectly crested waves. A faraway warmth swelled over your body, and you rubbed harshly at your bud craving more and and more. Your legs squirmed under the sheets: much like they would when they would bow their heads to tease at your clit with interweaving tongues, sandwiched between your thighs which they would pull back with starving fingertips. You could almost hear it: the way that your slick would drip over your pussy, and how they would taste it too on each others lips in between.
Your back arched recalling their praise. They would pull you between them once again, and fill your mouth with adoring kisses covered with multitudes of their love. Jisung would mewl little whines into your mouth, shaking from your hand wrapped around his cock, and Changbin kissed you like you were his reason for breathing: slow, languid, purposeful. He’d sigh out watching the way that you marked up Jisung’s body while pumping himself all the while.
“Binnie. Sungie.” Their names became your anchor while your rubbed wider, then slower, then faster. Your soaked fingers plunged into your pussy while your head danced with the memories of them filling you up, rolling their hips in as deeply as thye could, kissing into your chest or the crook of your neck. You curved your fingers to tease at your g-spot, but your clit was even more impatient.
“Do you want to cum for us princess?”
“I’ll cum for you...” Your breath hitched in that room all by yourself.
Your fingers wiggled back up to your clit, now hypersensitive from its lack of attention. Instantly, your orgasm built violently behind the twitching bud, and you threw your free arm back to grip into your pillow to steady yourself. Sweat had gathered on the underside of your thighs and on your back: it was a feeling so dirty that it only made your head feel lighter. It was as if they were in the room with you and you could see them clearly: enamored eyes dipped in lust that ate up your form until there was nothing left.
“C-close.” You shuddered, now with pruned fingers encircling until you drew yourself right to the brink.
You came with a forceful heat that swept over your whole body and sent your hips jerking up into the air and toes digging into the bed. Your incisors bit harshly at your lip, and you stifled your unsteady and high pitched moans the best you possibly could. In your apartment complex, the walls were thin enough for there to be little left to the imagination.
Your chest shook as you came down and you teased your bud, edging on overstimulation for as long as you could take it. Jisung had liked the way that you would convulse like this and Changbin would relentlessly give little slaps to your aching bud. Once you could take no more, you drew your hand back from the elastic, then you let the euphoria sweep over your body for a few moments of silence and tranquility.
Yes, you had done it to yourself, but without their help, there was no way that you could’ve shown your body the same kind of fervent love.
It was as if they could make love to you telepathically, even on this night when the sun was setting, and your bed was empty.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
You hadn’t expected yourself to feel nervous meeting them at the airport. Still, your heart pounded in your chest with a ridiculous rhythm. It wasn’t like you had a completely different face or had changed anything about yourself remotely  that would’ve shocked them. Still, a sense of anxiety swelled in you that was unexpected and unwarranted. Perhaps it was because it was so surreal.
There was something odd about the airport, it was likely how industrial it all felt with chairs that were lined with thin upholstery and carpets that held all kinds of mysterious stains. But, while it was a bit of a undesirable area, it was teeming with excitement. There were patrons at the magazine stands busying themselves flipping through books and laughing at the outrageous titles, people sitting joyously at the little restaurants and several hyper children tugging the hands of exasperated parents with neck pillows clinging to their strained necks. Further down the way, there was the sign illuminated pointing to the pick up area past baggage claim.
The air smelled overly filtered, but it was still as exhilarating. You took two escalators down and one moving walkway, then the light of the outdoors flooded the area with conveyor belts and the screens above them.
“Y/n? Y/n!!!!” Jisung’s voice called over the busy sounds of baggage claim filled to the brim with his excitement.
Before you got a chance to figure out where his voice had come from, your adorable boyfriend came charging at you with arms outstretched and an inhumanly large smile on his face. He scooped you up holding you so tightly that you had to teeter on your tip toes. While Jisung had a bit of a tiny frame, you never would’ve guessed from the scale of his hugs.
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.” He giggled out the words with a sense of disbelief, and he swung your body back and forth. “Oh my god I missed you sososo much.”
Another set of arms peacefully wrapped around you and Jisung and squeezed you in even tighter. In one of his hands, the cellophane from a bouquet of pink roses crinkled. “It’s so nice to have you back.” Changbin cooed, then reached to pat your head with his free hand.
 You blinked back your happy tears the best that you could. The three of you broke, and you looked at both of your boyfriends right in front of you for the first time in what felt like forever. Changbin squeezed Jisung’s shoulder while the boy wiped a couple tears for the corner of his eyes.
You were biased, but they really were the most beautiful people in the world.
“I-I missed you both too, more than you can imagine.”
The two boys beamed, then presented you with your flowers.
“‘Hope you like pink ‘cause that’s the last color that they had left.” Changbin chuckled, and you nodded profusely.
“They’re gorgeous.”
You decided, after two months of not seeing the damn loves of your life, you deserved to kiss them--fuck the glares that you would get.
First you grabbed Changbin by the cheeks to press a smiling kiss right into his surprised mouth, and kiss him like you were a high schooler starved for attention that was forbidden to them. Still, your boyfriend grabbed your face back, rubbing tenderly into your own cheeks.
You winked to an equally shocked Jisung, “You next.”
You kissed the stutters away on his lips, and then ran giddy lips over his which cracked with a smile so wide it made it a little hard to kiss him. He wrapped both of his arms around you to pull you in close and you ruffled up his caramel blond hair the best you possibly could. Beside you, Changbin chuckled out proudly.
You had closed your eyes to kiss both of your boyfriends like they deserved. If someone had stared, well...you didn’t see it.
Jisung was out of breath after your parted, then pushed up his glasses in his surprise.
“That was....”
“--Lets get home!!” You shined with a smile, then took off in front of them. “Are you coming or not??”
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Jisung decided not to subject you to his home cooking, regardless of the fact that you had said that you wanted to try it. You had ordered take-out, and ate it picnic style on the floor to your living room in front of the TV playing a movie that none of you payed attention to. Regardless of the fact that your jet lag had hit you like a truck, your pure adrenaline upon seeing them kept your eyes from becoming weary.
The normal questions had been asked: how are you classes, how is the food there, what are the people like, what is your apartment like, have you made friends etc. You asked Changbin about how his classes were going, and how Jisung’s part-time job at the café was and about the silly little things that you used to do as three, but they now had to as two. The consensus was that doing anything as two was strange and even a little awkward at times because they had gotten so used to having you around.
Changbin cleared the dishes, making space for you to make up your little pillow fort that you would do at times. “It felt like there was a piece missing from us. It was...really hard sometimes too.”
“It was for me too. Out there all alone...I had never realized that a bed meant for one person would be like, the saddest thing that there is on this earth.”
“Small bed no more!” Jisung piped, then proceeded to wrap both his arms and legs around you the best he could. “Also small shower no more.” He nuzzled into your chest.
One of the selling points of the apartment that you shared was actually the comically large shower that it came with. During the first few weeks after you had moved in, it was as if the three of you were physically incapable of taking a shower without the others being there. Changbin joked that it was as if they had made it just for the three of you in some kind of destined way.
“Hmmm well, I think that we should make use of that as soon as possible.”
Jisung let out a happy little hum in agreement then angled himself up to plant a couple quick kisses on your mouth and nose. Changbin threw down your array of pillows and other blankets, draping them over chairs to make a little tent like the three of you were toddlers hidden away in your secret place.
“Sungie sandwich!!!” Jisung suddenly gasped out, “Binnie come on!!”
Changbin scoffed, “I guess it has been a while...can’t say no to that.”
Jisung squealed and the two of you made space for your boyfriend to come slide himself on the other side and make a proper “Sungie sandwich.” He kissed careful lips into the crook of Jisung’s neck which made the other boy giggle out in a tizzy: not only was he sensitive there, but it would tickle him too. You reached your arms over to tangle your fingers up in Changbin’s dark locks which were just as soft as you remembered.
“This feels so amazing.” You sighed into Jisung who had crept his hands up your shirt.
“It does.” Changbin agreed. “We’re complete again.”
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Small bed no more was right.
Jisung patted the middle spot, wearing only a white tee and his boxers.
“Your spot awaits you princess.”
“Don’t mind if I do!”
Changbin sauntered over while he brushed his teeth, abandoning the idea of a shirt all together.
Your eyes widened, “...Bin--”
“--What?” He smugly smirked. “It’s nothing you haven’t seen before?”
“N-no.”
Your other boyfriend scoffed, “He certainly knows that he’s hot, doesn’t he?”
“He sure does.” Changbin dished out a prideful wink.
With sarcasm laced in your voice, you turned to Jisung to say, “I’m so sorry you had to deal with that while I was gone.”
Changbin’s voice echoed from the bathroom “HE LIKED IT!”
Jisung waved him off, settling to beckon you under the thick and cozy comforter that you had daydreamed of more than once.
“Are you comfy?” He hushed.
“Mmhm! Comfiest I’ve been in months.”
Just as he always would, Jisung would wrap you up so tight that it might’ve been a little suffocating--but it wasn’t like you minded in the slightest. The top of his poofy hair smelled like grapefruits somehow, and you hadn’t realized how much you had missed it. The feeling of your bare legs intertwined, and there was nothing that came close to such a perfect feeling.
Your other boyfriend clicked off the light, then engulfed the both of you with his rather strong and intimidating arms. You knew for a fact that they were nothing but cuddly and harmless. Being like this with them was what you had missed most, and it was finally yours for the taking.
“Are you guys asleep yet?” Jisung whispered after approximately five minutes of silence.
“No,” Changbin murmured. “What is it?”
“I-I dunno, I can’t fall asleep, I just keep thinking...”
You flopped over to face him, “What is it Sungie? Everything okay?”
Your adorable boyfriend stammered, then shied under the comforter in the dark of the room. “I-I don’t know if now is the right time, but...” It was noticeable how his tone had changed; you and Changbin knew it well. Jisung’s pitch would raise and his voice would crack when he wanted something.
Changbin leaned over to click the light back on. “Sung, you don’t have to be so coy about it. I think that Y/n and I know you better than you know yourself.”
Jisung’s eyes widened in his embarrassment, “You what??”
Your headstrong boyfriend sighed, “Use your words Sungie.”
His cheeks turned rosy, then he peeped, “It’s just that it’s been a really long time and I can’t stop thinking about it, and...Bin and I didn’t really do anything for like a week cause--”
Your head whipped in Changbin’s direction, “What?”
Changbin nodded solemnly saying, “Let him finish.”
“--C-cause I wanted us to wait for when you came back so it could be like, extra special? Or...something like that.” He threw the blanket over his head. “It sounds so dumb when I say it out loud.”
You really didn’t deserve someone like Jisung. Not in this lifetime or the next. You felt your limbs practically turn to jelly to hug your shy boyfriend.
“It’s not dumb!! Not at all!! I think that it’s so sweet! You wanted to wait for me? Oh, baby...”
With the blanket pulled back, you held his glistening eyes with yours. He really was irresistible when he would get like this.
“I’m assuming that you wanna stop waiting, hm?”
Changbin joined you in leaning over the shiest of you three, then shrugged down the cotton of your loose t-shirt to paint kisses into your shoulder. In the chill of the room, the warmth contrasted beautifully.
“Yes or no Sungie? Because I defin--”
“--Yes! Uh--I mean, yes, but--only if you aren’t too tired or if you want to.”
“Sungie, how can I say no to you?” You bowed your neck to press loving little kisses into his lips which still tasted faintly of mint. He immediately give into you, grabbing out to hold your neck firmly as you did so. His hips squirmed slightly, as did his legs--he always was such an impatient baby.
Changbin scooched in closer to caress down your back as you filled your boyfriend with every single kiss that you had been waiting months to give him.
His voice was as soft as velvet, and full of his immense love for the two of you. Seeing both of you like this made him swell with such as sense of admiration, it was as if it was a high for him. “We’ll take care of you Sungie, we’d love to.”
Even from Changbin’s praises, Jisung’s whole body would shiver, and you could feel it on your tongue too when you had politely asked for him to allow you entrance.
Jisung set to work pulling your shirt up over your arms once you turned to Changbin to kiss over him roughly. He had liked it more that way: a collision of lips and teeth grazing over the softer parts of your mouth, gasps getting caught in between and the heat of tongues twisting as if you were as sweet as honey. As soon as you were rid of your shirt two sets of hands greedily crept up your body to twist and pull at your nipples which had hardened in seconds. Your head fell to Changbin’s shoulder while they teased and flicked at your sensitive buds until they hurt.
“She’s so pretty, isn’t she?” Changbin growled, then cradled your head to lay you down.
“The prettiest.” Jisung agreed, then hooked his fingers under the lacy part of your underwear that you might’ve worn with the purpose of them not staying on you for long. In return, you tugged at both of their waistbands for them to do the same. Cloth hit the bedside floor, and all that was left was Jisung’s shirt which you pulled off yourself. You only had a couple moments to look in the dim lighting of the room, but both of them had already dripped lightly with pearly drips of pre-cum and their hardening dicks throbbed against the mattress. Not only was it a heavenly sight to behold, but you knew that both of them were entirely for you.
Changbin leaned down to flick his tongue around your hardened bud, then used his hand to kneed at your other breast with his powerful grasp. Jisung pulled your face towards him with hungry little whimpers that tickled your bottom lip, so you returned the favor by pulling his with your teeth. He recoiled beautifully from the feeling, and you saw your prefect window to slither down his body and wrap your hand around his pink cock. At first, you grazed your thumb over his slit roughly.
“Did you miss my hand on your cock Sungie? Look at you...so hard for me, so worked up...do you want it that bad, baby?”
“Y-yes, p-please...”
Changbin kissed his way up your neck from your breasts sparkling from his saliva, then sucked love bites onto your collarbones and the soft parts of your neck. “Angel, I want to see you with Sungie’s dick in your mouth, can you do that?”
You nodded, reveling in Changbin’s instructions. There was something about being told exactly what to do that made you feel so pliable. Changbin knew it well. You then worked kisses down your boyfriend’s body, pausing for a moment to flick your tongue over his nipples in the way that made his whole chest flush with pink. He laughed out in his pleasure with an airy breath too. You kissed gently at first, teasing your lips over, then sucking harshly with a trailing of teeth. His back arched, and he let out a delightful “ah-fuck!”
You finished by peppering other little marks on his chest which faded from pink to violet in a matter of seconds.
“Babyboy, you wanna taste my cock too?” Changbin greedily rose to kneel, then pumped his fist with tiny trailing breaths.
Jisung’s eyes turned into full moons at the sight, then nodded excitedly while angling himself correctly. You and your boyfriend exchanged prideful little glances over the other’s eagerness. The pads of your fingers traced down Jisung’s thin frame, ghosting over his flaring abs and drawing little scribbles into his ribs. Your perfect position was set between this quivering thighs which welcomed you easily, and you took his deliciously pink cock in your hand to tease at him with thick stripes. You gathered saliva on your tongue so he could feel it, then used another hand to pump at him too.
Jisung flattened out his tongue to swirl it around his boyfriends angrily red tip and maintained eye contact as Changbin preferred. As the smallest boy dipped his head in closer, Changbin entangled his fingers with those gorgeous caramel trellises. He sighed out at the feeling of his cock hitting the back of Jisung’s throat, and groaned out lowly once he heard the other choke on it lightly.
“Fuck baby. Just like that..”
You then took in Jisung’s length as deeply as you could: and it was no easy feat. Where Changbin dominated in girth, Jisung made up for in length. The action sent Jisung whining helplessly on Changbin’s dick, which only drove the other boy further into his passion.
“You take me so well Sungie.” He cooed, and pulled out for Jisung to catch a few desperate gasps.
Your saliva gathered in the corner of your mouth, and you licked it up and down the sides of Jisung’s cock-- but only for a few moments. You swallowed him down, pushing down the back of your throat just as you had long learned how to do. Merely feeling the weight of him in your mouth sent your pussy throbbing and your legs twisting for some kind of sensation. Of course, Changbin had noticed.
“Open your legs sweetheart.”
You did as you were told, and his thick fingers came journeying through your soaked folds, and he toyed with your clit and slicked his fingers with your arousal. His index and middle finger circled around you: it was a sensation that you had dreamed of endlessly.
“Mm, Bin...” You moaned onto Jisung’s cock.
“Pretty pussy of yours must’ve missed this, hm? My fingers fucking your wet little cunt? I missed it too...”
You tried your best to maintain your strength once you had returned to sucking off Jisung’s dick, but you only seemed to unravel further. He rutted his hips into your mouth needily--an action which teased at your gag reflex, but you were stronger than that.
Jisung’s own slobber fell down the side of his neck which Changbin held, just so he could feel the way that he filled up his boyfriends throat. With his other hand, he dipped it further inside your pussy, fucking you slowly at first. You knew that he loved the way that your slick sounded on his fingers. In response, your helpless moans vibrated on your boyfriend’s dick.
“Y/n, I want your mouth too.” Changbin asked gravely with hooded and darkened eyes. You knew what you had to do next. His fingers slipped out from you, and you loathed feeling so empty, but you weren’t one to disobey him either.
Changbin made space for you to lay on your stomach next to Jisung and then tapped his wetted dick on your lips as well, leaving Jisung gasping next to you.
“Fucking show me how much you missed me.”
You took him in, and you had nearly forgotten how sizeable he really was. It was startling, and as soon as you took in his full length, you had to fight back tears over how thick he really was. Regardless, the way that he could stretch you out like this was purely addictive.
“Oh...fuck--baby...” Your boyfriends voice dropped several decibels. “My babies suck my dick s-so good don’t they?”
Jisung nodded in his wonder at you, and Changbin dipped his thumb into his mouth afterword. Jisung always did love the taste.
Changbin caressed your full cheek, “Don’t forget to share.”
You took a deep breath, then let Jisung take his turn again. As he did so, you resumed your work at jerking off his dripping tip, and he reached to slide between your folds with long fingers.
With both of your adoring glances, you and Jisung kissed and lapped up the sides of your boyfriend’s dick and his eyes rolled back at the ethereal sight.
“H-holy sh-shit--”
Your hips buckled once Jisung let his fingers plunge inside of you and high pitched mewls sent you clawing at Changbin’s hips for balance.
“W-wait...” Changbin pulled himself away, and you knew that he must’ve been practicing the best restraint he could. “Sungie, you wanna taste her pussy too? Taste how sweet she is?”
Jisung smiled widely, despite being a bit of slobbery and tear-stained himself.
“I’ve been waiting for months to!”
You looked to Changbin for approval.
“Sit on his face then sweetheart? Wouldn’t you like to ride his face for me?”
You nodded in your thrill, and the bedsheets crinkled under the sound of the three of you shifting your bodies back into the proper position.
As it often would, the windows to your room fogged with steam--even though it was a beautiful spring evening. Pillows were strewn everywhere, and some of them nearly fell off the bed. Nevertheless, you had never been cozier wrapped in the clean threads and with your sweating skin pressed against heated bodies.
Jisung firstly kissed at your wet lips, teasing and humming happily into them. He grabbed onto both of your thighs to open you further then pulled your folds apart to kiss directly on your bud--an action which sent you nearly screaming over how intense it all felt.
“You can be loud for us baby. There’s nothing to be scared of here.”
It was as if a switch had flipped within you, and each and every lap of Jisung’s tongue felt like the most euphoric sensation you had ever experienced. He looked utterly adorable under you with his pink and juicy tongue running stripes over your clit. Merely watching him like this was enough to bring you to your first orgasm.
“D-don’t stop S-sung...” You rolled your hips over his lips.
Changbin had snaked himself farther down Jisung’s body which glistened with a thin layer of sweat. He clicked the bottle of lube, then smoothed it over his length, finally aligning it over the smaller boy. Your hands grabbed out for something to hold onto: one of them within Jisung’s hair, and the other squeezing painfully into the headboard.
“Rough or slow Sungie?” Changbin laughed out wickedly.
“R-rough...” Jisung moaned onto your pussy, “H-hard...”
Changbin entered your boyfriend carefully, and both of them shuddered at the feeling. The room was full of all of your eroticism, and Jisung groaned out loudly at the connection. From the sounds your orgasm drew itself out too, and it was heightened even more when Jisung moved to pump his fingers deeply into you as well. He curved his fingertips in the way that grazed your cervix, and then sent you quivering pathetically over his face. Lower, Changbin dug his fingers into his boyfriends hips slamming into him without pause, and panting haphazardly.
“C-can yo-you cum for me??” Jisung whimpered in a way that was much too cute for his own good.
“Yes.” You answered, then fucked your hips over his plush lips and you clenched your teeth hard against your lip “Mm-fingers, Sung--please...”
Jisung did as he was told, and maintained his pace stimulating your g-spot then, and begging an orgasm out of your body. He himself whimpered like a puppy while he was fucked out. Had you not been focusing on your orgasm, you wished you could see it all happen.
“Ji--fuck--” Your hips violently shook, and you came with a searing heat that locked your walls tight around his fingers and dripped even further down your shaking thighs and splattered into his delicate features. It didn’t startle him at all, but he merely licked his lips free of your slick.
“B-Bin--” He gasped out, then you fell down in your aftershocks to watch the way that Changbin spread out your gorgeous boyfriend with sweat dripping down his chest and from his brow.
“Ride him, baby.” Changbin immediately ordered. “I want you to cum all over his dick, got it?”
With grabby hands, Jisung pulled you right into his chest once you had straddled him. He played with your nipples for a few fleeting moments as you got situated pushing his cock into your pussy still trembling from your last orgasm.
It was beautiful how he could fill you up like this. It was intimacy incomparable a closeness that only you had shared with him. In fact, he had actually been somewhat of a virgin when the three of you had met, and both you and Changbin were his first time. Knowing that he had only shared this part of himself with you and your boyfriend felt intoxicating in a way.
You flicked your hips over his length, and focused your strength on fucking him slowly compared to how relentless Changbin kept his pace at.
“I love you baby. Jisung, I love you so much.” You held his gaze.
Two tears fell from his cheeks--not out of sadness, but of his pure love for you.
He begged with a quivering lip, “Please kiss me.”
And you did. You kissed Jisung like he was as fragile as flower petals that could break with the smallest tear. You kissed his lips as sweet as candy and you kissed the last bits of your arousal away on the corners of his mouth.
Still, “Harder...” He begged, and your hips dipped lower and quicker over him.
“Want me to fuck you harder babyboy?”
Changbin threw his hands on your shoulders, then ran them down your spine to feel the way that you moved over Jisung’s dick.
“Want us to fuck you until you can’t say any more?” You tutted.
“Fuck, Sung, you feel so--”
“G-gonna make me cum-ngh!”
Changbin angled the boys hip up a bit further, and the sound of skin on skin filled the room.
You sang out the phrase, “~I didn’t hear you say it Sungie~”
Jisung’s face screwed up, and he gasped out loud enough for the neighbors to likely hear, but that didn’t matter in the slightest.
“Fuck me please.”
The thickness of the air in the bedroom clouded, and you fucked your beautiful boyfriend with your tightening walls as hard and as fast as you could, right until you brought yourself to the brink of another trembling orgasm, right over his dick. Changbin gifted a stinging slap to your ass then bit kisses into your shoulder right as you came undone for the second time, and Jisung’s eyes rolled to the back of his head once he came inside you at the very same moment. Your velvet walls tightened around his ribbons of cum inside and you collapsed against his gasping chest to warm him after his release.
Changbin set himself loose, groaning out loudly as he came too, and shook with delighted laughter that was mixed up in his happy little “oh’s.” and the hitch of his breath. His restless hands caressed every inch of your body that he could as he brought himself down, finally bowing down to kiss right into your shoulder blades and back. Jisung called out his boyfriend’s name too while he shook around him.
You coaxed yourself free of Jisung’s dick and Changbin wondered in the way that Jisung and made a creamy mess of your pussy. He then did the same watching how his seed spilled out of Jisung as well.
“Wow.”
The three of your sweating bodies clambered flat onto the mattress and the room fell quiet, leaving space for your breaths and the way that the spring evening sounded outside of your window: distant car horns, the hush of the breeze, the ebb and flow of the early arrival of cicadas.
“Are you okay?” Changbin asked the both of you with worried hands running over both of your sweating forms.
“Y-yeah. I am.” You smiled.
Jisung shied his flushed face with one of the bedsheets. “Me too.”
“I think...if you’d like, maybe the three of us could kind of, sorta, I dunno, stay connected for a little bit?” Changbin smoothed down the little hairs on your arm with the gentlest touch.
“If Y/n wants to?”
You exhaled peacefully into both of your boyfriends arms, and gave them a little hum to say yes. Changbin carefully wetted his dick with your slick, then guided himself into you pussy with his half hard dick, and it felt like a dream. Jisung too took a bit of lube in his hand as well, then pumped his dick with a shiver to then slide himself into your ass. The two of them swept over your body with light and fleeting kisses to your neck, shoulders, cheeks, nose and lips. You stayed the same: wonderfully full, and so close to them that it must’ve been unreal. While it hurt a little how they had stretched you out, you wiggled your hips still to feel even more of it. Your boyfriends sighed out at the feeling.
“Sweetheart, you do that any more and you’re gonna make us want to fuck you again.” Changbin scoffed.
“What if I want you to?” You traced the way that his deep brown hair curved over his ear. “What if I want you to fuck me like this...close...slowly...?”
“Sung?”
“If she wants to, I want to as well.”
Changbin held your hips firmly under the blanket, then started his slow thrusts into you with his dick that indulgently grew hard once more.
He whispered the promise over your lips, “We can do that for you baby.”
You don’t know how long the three of you had remained as such. Time became nothing of your concern as the night slipped on and both of them took every ounce of their time with you, slowly fucking up into your pussy and ass, the sounds of your slick renewed filled up the room. They brought out a couple more shaking orgasms from your core, each of them followed by careful kisses to soothe your shaking body.
“Such a good girl for us.” Jisung nibbled into your ear. His hand got tangled with the sheets too where he reached around to twist your nipples between his fingers.
“How do you want it baby? Do you want it inside?”
Changbin’s skin filled up your palm, then you slung a leg over his hip so he could hit your g-spot perfectly.
“P-please?”
“Of course. Sung?”
“--Mm-m’ close too.”
A few more moments of your symphonic moans, and you unfolded between them: one last orgasm that was so encompassing that you had slipped right into a space so safe, that you felt as if nothing in the world could touch you. Changbin finished off with unexpectedly adorable sounding grunt, and he throbbed within you to the tune of Jisung doing the same.
“Shit.” Jisung giggled, then nuzzled his head right into the nape of your neck.
“How was that angel?”
“Do you even need to ask?”
The three of you found solace in the skin on skin of it all: three people, three bodies that could be closer than two bodies ever could.
“Ready to clean off in our big-ass shower?” Jisung wiggled you in his giant hug.
“Small shower no more.”
“The problem is, who’s gonna get up first to get the water running?”
Condensation dripped down the windows, and the curtains blew softly with the spring air invading the room and carrying the smell of flowers and the mist  lingering in grass.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Water dripped like rain over the pink of muscles and intermingled with the iridescent drops of soap bubbles which held little rainbows in and of themselves. Hair slicked to the sides of faces, and transparent streams coursed down the simple breaths on rising chests. Steam filled up your lungs, a reminder that it was all real.
You were here with them. It wasn’t some kind of dream that you had painted while in that room alone with yourself and the buzzing of a TV speaking in tongues that you didn’t know.
Even though they said nothing, but rather touched your body down, you could hear their thoughts like a melody.
They loved every bit of you, and it was written on their faces times two.
Light in the Window
Jasonette July prompt 10: light
Jasonette July
My masterlist
Marinette jumped as there was a crash outside her window. She cursed loudly as she realized she ended up with a long, jagged line of stitching going off the wrong direction. At least she had just started this part and it would be on the inside so no one would see the mishap. She glanced over at the window. It had gone very silent but the crash was too loud for it to have been something that would have crept away without her hearing it.
She supposed she could use a stretch anyway. It wouldn’t do to not check out something hitting her window at this hour in Gotham. Too many possible things to go wrong. She didn’t want to test her luck against the City of Crime. But test it she had apparently, she thought with a sigh as she looked through the curtains.
She pried the window open to check and see if the form outside her window was breathing. She didn’t know all the characters that ran around on the rooftops in this city. They seemed to have a full cast of rotating characters. It was basically a vigilante soap opera. Too many of them used red as a main color. Perhaps it was inspired by Deadpool. They couldn’t show weakness so they had to camouflage the blood from any injuries.
The man moved and groaned slightly as his arm flopped off her window as she pushed it up. He jolted when his hand landed on his chest. She sucked in a breath as he went from laying there appearing dead to shooting his hand out to grasp her wrist in a death grip instantaneously. She backed away and started what would have been a surprised squeal if his hand hadn't covered her mouth muffling any noise she would have produced. He slipped through the window and closed it and curtain in a quick motion. He pushed her against the wall with his hand that was still covering her mouth. He made a quiet shushing noise before removing his hand and then walked over and turned off her light leaving her apartment in total darkness.
Marinette should have looked for a pamphlet or guide to the rooftop cast. It was something she had thought about but hadn’t done yet because she had hardly left since moving in. She had supplies and groceries delivered and there was a trash chute in the hallway. She hadn’t needed much yet and had a lot of work to do. Learning about the outside world here was not that high up on her to do list. She would have to hope that since he hadn’t already attacked that he would not find cause to do so.
She could have done a better job decluttering her pile of boxes that she hadn’t unpacked. She realized this as she tripped on a stack and then nearly fell over another. She hadn’t realized how close he had left her to the hazard. But before she tumbled all the way to the ground he had caught her mid fall and pulled her off her feet. She was awkwardly against his chest and thrashing until he set her down somewhere else. He moved her hand to the counter so she could tell that he had put her down in the kitchen. He must have some sort of night vision in his helmet.
“Do you have a light in here?" he asked.
“There is a switch by the fridge.”
A brief shuffle of feet and a flick and the soft glow of the kitchen light brought them out of darkness. Marinette still wasn’t sure what to say. He seemed to be moving around a bit, possibly checking for injuries. Now that there was enough light to see, she could see that he had guns on him. So, probably not one of the less dangerous ones. She didn’t think they used guns much. He righted himself a moment later, she could tell he was still on high alert and looking around her apartment. She moved herself closer to her abandoned place setting from earlier and tried to pick the quickest route to the door just in case she needed to escape.
“So, umm, who are you?” Marinette tried to sound casual.
She, of course, couldn't see his expression when he turned his head to look at her, but she imagined it was a quizzical expression on his face. Probably most Gothamites, native or otherwise had a good idea of most of the players around. Maybe he was one of the main characters and was offended that she didn’t know him.
“Are you new here?” he asked.
“Yes, not quite as new as you seem to be right here in my apartment. But I moved here recently.” she paused, not able to help a bit of snark in her current state. “The packed boxes are not just my choice of decor.”
She was glad to hear what she thought might have been a chuckle under his helmet.
“Most would probably tell you to leave them packed and just leave.”
“Everyone I know told me not to come at all, but my work is here.”
“Guess you can’t fault that.”
“So you aren’t offering a name, but you also don’t seem to be heading out. I was making some tea. Do you want some?”
“That sounds really nice. I would love some. Since you are so graciously offering your hospitality.”
“That’s one way to put it.”
She turned away to start the water and went about getting some snacks while waiting for the kettle to boil. He seemed to have no issue helping himself to whatever she had put out after removing his helmet to reveal a lensed mask beneath it. She ended up having to go in search of additional offerings because she hadn’t considered how much the man would eat. She pulled out noodle bowls she had made ahead to have easy food for herself and offered him one. It was simple to do with the kettle already freshly boiled.
She turned back around and slapped his hand away from the last macaron. Then gasped in shock when she realized what she had done. She still had no idea who he was. He laughed at her again before he picked up the macaron anyway. But instead of eating it he walked around to where she was sitting and lifted it up to her mouth. Marinette blushed as she took a small bite of it. He must have still been laughing at her because he leaned his face close to hers before he put the remainder in his own mouth.
“These are very good. I couldn’t just let you have the last one.”
“It's fine,” she said, her cheeks still burning. “I was due to make more soon anyway.”
“You made them? It is definitely settled, I will have to come back for more.”
“I don’t even know why you came here now. Unless you just didn’t have any food and needed some of mine.”
“I followed the light. I needed to lose someone following me.”
“Are you in danger?"
Her unasked question was whether or not he had put her in danger. He carried his tea and bowl of noodles and sprawled out on her couch before answering.
"They will have moved on tonight or will soon. I'm relatively certain no one saw where I went."
She set her own food on a tv tray and sat down on the other side of the couch. She was trying to pretend that this was all perfectly normal. She went about setting her food and tea up how she liked in silence. She didn't know what to say and he was content to remain silent. She could feel him watching her but she didn't want to turn and make eye contact with his mask lenses.
“Tell me about yourself.” He said breaking the silence.
“There isn’t much to tell. I moved here to expand my client base.”
“Where did you come from?”
“Originally I’m from France but after fashion school I took a semester in New York to get additional skills and help with understanding the language.”
“Fashion?” He raised his eyebrow at her.
“Not everyone can be as confident as you and run around the rooftops every night in an outfit that looks like that.”
He leaned close to her when she said that. She was pretty sure he was trying to intimidate her but she had to bite her lip to keep from laughing. Apparently her could tell though.
“Are you laughing at me?” she shook her head and bit her lip harder. “I like you. You either take no shit or you have no self preservation.”
“You have been here for a bit and you seem to have developed a vested interest in keeping me alive.”
“Did you not notice that I am carrying guns? I’m very good at using them.”
“I did. But you also ate all my food and decided you want to come back for more of my macarons.”
“I could get cookies anywhere. I’m a crime lord. I get whatever I want.”
“You probably won’t get better than someone who grew up in a French patisserie. But maybe that doesn’t matter if you are a crime lord resorting to hiding out in the apartment of a lowly fashion designer.”
“I like this. I don’t get a lot of people willing to talk to me like this.”
“Maybe its just because I don’t know who you are.”
“Could be. But I think you just can’t help yourself.”
He stood up and began walking around her apartment looking around. He spent a couple minutes looking at her designs in progress and then picked up her sketchbook. He held it up silently and she nodded, giving him permission to look in the book. When he got to a blank page he doodled a little picture and then closed the book without showing her. He looked back out the window and seemed to come to a decision.
“Thanks for the shelter and the hospitality. I guess I never got your name.”
“I didn’t get yours either.”
“I’m the Red Hood.”
Her eyes widened slightly. He chuckled. “So you have heard of me then.”
“I’m Marinette,” she said while nodding.
He walked up to her and brushed her hair from her face gently.
“I hope to see you soon Marinette. Its been a refreshing experience.”
With that he put his helmet back on and left through the window her came in and disappeared into the night. Marinette decided she was finished working for the evening and went to bed without bothering to put anything away. That certainly had been an interesting encounter. She wondered if he really would come back. She would have to buy more groceries if he did.
