Gonna submit a txt of I, Robot with all the robot words find-and-replaced to horse words just to get a scrivener discount code 👍 what I totally wanted to write a searing criticism on this society's overreliance on the pack animal

Regardless of what you think about generative AI in general, NaNoWriMo allowing AI-generated works is beyond stupid because that completely defeats the purpose of the challenge, which is for you, a human being, to write 50,000 words in a month. Yeah, that's hard. That's why it's a challenge. Where is the challenge when you can ask a chatbot to spit out 50,000 words of whatthefuckever for you? Even if you think that is a legitimate way to produce fiction, even if you don't care about the ethics of training on stolen works... where's the challenge? What's left of NaNo at that point?

#dont ask why i have a ponified copy of i robot just lying around #no but idk what the official organization says but ik when i did nanorwrimo with some irl friends it was cheating to start writing #before November even though THEY were doing prep (ive never learned how to write an outline. the one time someone tried to teach #me‚ they wanted me to write in complete sentences and im like?? that's just writing the essay but worse? and yeah)#which is at least your own words even if youre writing 200 words a day for a year instead of 1300 a day for a month you know?#so yeah just seems against the spirit of the thing
