I am actually covering the tournament for a Czech media site as a part of my mandatory university internship (there you have the origin of me being so-called knowledgeable about it), so yes, I am going to spend my following days watching it - especially the Czech team as you could have guessed at this point. While they don't have Pastrnak and Krejci like they did last year around, therefore there are significantly lower expectations of them getting past the semifinals cause no one knows whether there will be a natural shooter on the team, who will take care of the goals, they still do have guys like Filip Chytil, Dominik Kubalik (those two are supposed to be the main goal scorers), or Karel Vejmelka in the net to watch if you are coming into the tournament as an NHL fan.

Naming the Tumblr popular guys - Germany has Moritz Seider (no Stützle, he injured himself last year around and so Ottawa is not letting him come this time), Sweden has Lucas Raymond, Finland has Mikko Rantanen, Kapanen Kasperi, or Kaapo Kakko, Canada has this year's (very likely) second draft pick Adam Fantilli or Detroit's Joe Veleno, USA has like half of the Penguins on the board (Jake Guentzel, Nick Bonino, Drew O'Connor, and Casey DeSmith) and then a ton of university players, Switzerland has Nino Niederreiter and with the Devils being out of the playoffs, there is a chance someone from the Hischier, Meier, Schmid line might join as well, Slovakia is also counting on Simon Nemec coming and helping them with their defense (which is honestly slightly atrocious, though still better than their goaltending situation needless to say), cause other than that they don't exactly have a great team this year (yes, you read that right, no Slafkovsky for the last year's draft girlies).

Nardi's level dipped in the second set, but he found his way back again after having a moonball winner on Palan's serve in the 12th game of the third set. It might have boiled down to those kinds of pressure points, but the stats might have suggested something else.

Palan's first serves were proven more effective since he won 85% of his points from there, added by the 13 aces. However, having a first serve alone could not carry the whole match, as Nardi likely went after his second serves (since Palan won 2% lesser points from the second serves than Nardi). Furthermore, Nardi's efficient second serves were the key behind Palan getting run over numerous times in the follow-up, including some clutch showing.

Meanwhile, despite his 100% break point conversion rate, Palan had his chances throughout the second and third sets to make the most out of them. While he peaked at the second set, Nardi pressed him back, that even though his break point conversion only happened after Palan's double fault (hence the 50% conversion rate), Nardi utilized his go-to defense-to-offense approach to score some important points in the last game. Well, then, on to his first Challenger final this season and his fourth career Challenger final for Nardi, then.

In the finals, Nardi will face either Miljan Zekic or Max Purcell, which match is currently ongoing as this was written (stay tuned for the updates!). Both mentioned players are on their own roll, with Purcell having his 13-match winning streak and 2 consecutive titles before coming to the Pune Challenger. Could be a fun final!
