To the anon who send me an ask and asked me not to post it, I just kinda wanted to tell you that I did receive it, that it was really interesting and that you really had some really good points and I'll be sure to look for the parallels between the two characters you mentioned in the future.

Also, I'm starting the reread of Clash of Kings tomorrow (or tonight if I'm motivated enough) so i'm really excited.

Genuinely, a clash of kings has some of my favorite chapters (looking at you Arya X).

hi everyone, HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE <3 i just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a safe & happy night & i hope the end of 2020 is good for everyone & that 2021 is the fresh start all of need and could use. just remember, that no matter what, even though 2020 has been hard on everyone, you are amazing & i really think the world of you. i also just want to say thank you to legit my support group. legit you guys have & always have been rockstars in my eyes.

Favorite Female Characters

8Rules: list ten fav top female characters from ten different fandoms.

Had a bit of an existential crisis with this--hadn’t thought about how few female characters I actually like!  That’s partially because my variety characters are either the Brilliant, Charismatic Asshole (House, Sherlock, Tony Stark) or Ridiculous, Goofy Badass (Lance, Vash the Stampede, Spider-Man) and women are rarely cast as those character types...?  Anyway!  In no particular order:

1)  Princess Leia -- Stars Wars.  She gets flak as a character for her bikini-slave bit, but honestly?  That’s her at her most badass!  She’s supposed to be a helpless sex symbol there but then BOOM she kills Jaba-the-freaking-Hutt with the very chains he put her in!  My girl is burly as shit and I love her.

2) Pidge Gunderson/Katie Holt -- Voltron.  Super genius, super cute.  I was worried she’d be lame in combat but nope--she kicks ass.  Love my little girl.  <3

3) Arya Stark -- Game of Thrones.  1000 lbs of justified wrath contained in an 8 oz body.  Her chanting the names of the people she’s going to kill?  Haunting, beautiful.  I’m not allowed to use two from the same fandom, but I do gotta make a shout out to my girl Brienne of Tarth while I’m here.

4) Sophie -- Howl’s Moving Castle (film not book).  Girl gets turned into an old lady and she’s like Fuck it--gonna do whatever the hell I want now.  No one fears an old lady, so she does what she wants and has no shits to give.

5) Tehanu -- Earthsea Cycle.  The first (I think?) fantasy female main character, and she is timeless.  She wasn’t a FEMALE character, just a character who happened to be female.  Female writers everywhere owe a debt of gratitude to Ms. Le Guin.  I am honestly still in denial that she died.  I was lucky enough to have a fan letter answered and saw her once at a reading.  Brilliant, brilliant woman.

6) Katniss Everdeen -- The Hunger Games.  I just love the desperation of this character and how long it takes her to actually fall for the guy.  She’s got other things on her mind!  I loooove a good romance, but this was way better.  

7) Eleven -- Stranger Things.  This girl is epitome of badass.  Seriously.  No words.  And her love of Eggos?  #relatable

8) Toph -- Avatar: The Last Airbender.  THIS GIRL.  Her disability doesn't slow her down at all.  If anything, she uses it to make herself even burlier.  I love her crazy hair and pretty much everything about her.

9) Mulan -- Mulan. I mean, she freaking saved CHINA.

10) Kayle -- FIrefly.  So cute!  An awesome mechanic but not afraid to be girly and also not afraid to lasso a man.
