Setting your story in a world where gender doesn't exist is all fun and games until you need to write about a character's parents

#original #i got away with it for so long by keeping them in the background and just referring to them as “[character]'s parents”#but now they need to be in a scene #what do i do?#do i give them names?#do i have the character refer to their own parents by name?#new problem: it's a pokemon world and pokemon typically go by their species #nicknames are used to differentiate between pokemon of the same species #i guess they would do that? now i need to make nicknames for them #but still they're the kind of parents who would treat being called by name by their kids as disrespect #but like they have to have SOME way of having the kids differentiate between them #i've heard of people with same-gender parents use terms like “mommy and mama” or “dad and pop”#anyone out there have a pair of nonbinary parents?

🚨Crack theory🚨 but at first I was confused how Vi's death led to an alternate universe where everything is a utopia. Even if Hextech was never invented it doesnt explain how all the class disparity was solved. And then I realized it was probably this:

Vander and Silco are the only ones who really had a plan for a unified and independent Zaun. My theory: after the accident, Vander went into grief over the death of his daughter and stumbled pathetically into the arms of his ex-twink, finally apologized for trying to kill him that one time, they get back together and solve all poverty with the power of old man yaoi. (Also Silco stops making drugs at some point)

There are so many timeskips within the flashback! My flow and pacing are wheezing!#I loved how this scene starts with the crowd's point of view. The observations and gossip add a lot.#And it helps reposition us to what the external perspective is on these two. Namely that 'they don't get along.'#Tensions are known! Even here in Nouveau Lotus Pier.#Ah...Lan Wangji never got a chance to see the Lotus Pier of Wei Wuxian's childhood and adolescence...did he?#It's not the same. He's not the same. Call them by the same name and people will know what you mean...#...but the first version - the one with the fond memories - is gone for good.#It's sort of interesting isn't it? How names can hold so much power and still be hollow?#We often get stuck over past versions of things. Be it ourselves or other people or places.#Change is scary but the truth is nothing ever stays the same. It's always moving. You're always moving.#It's okay to mourn the past. Maybe it's people you lost or the person you hoped to be. Let yourself feel the grief.#And then? Then you grow around that pain and keep on going. Okay, so first of all Dan would like to say it’s not his fault. Ellie was the one to bring some unknown object into the speeder and Jazz was the one driving. Or had Sam been driving- didn’t matter! It wasn’t his fault, he wasn’t the one shooting at them, he wasn’t the one to break whatever, he was not the one to open a stupid portal, and so it wasn’t his fault!

So why is he now like, five years old, and why is the speeder crashed in some sort of corn field. Why is everyone- except for Jazz whose now like six- also like three at most?! And- oh fuck the door just opened and… okay that’s a kid. Like, nine at most.

A kid and an adult, who he hadn’t noticed at first so again, it’s not his fault if he hissed at them and tried to hide his not-siblings behind him. It’s also not fair they’re apparently stuck to ghost speak for who knows how long, but at least they can understand the people.

“Martha, get some blankets, it’s happened again!”

WHICH time lord are you.#bc lbr if she knows abt tardises then she knows about time lords and if she knows abt time lords she knows what it means for ruby #to be joining him - and that's why she wishes ruby good luck. meanwhile this is clearly the outcome she WANTS (them to be together)#bc she gets visibly upset when the doctor seems to decide to leave without ruby.#and for once i'm not master clowning bc the list of names the doctor gives out is VERY interesting. some of them we've never heard before:#the bishop; the conquistador; later he adds the pedant and sagi-shi and reiterates the bishop AGAIN. so i wonder if she's the bishop.....

Ratio who doesn’t like Sugilite because of his methods and selfishness and attempts to avoid him (as well as the other Stonehearts besides Aventurine and Topaz) whenever the two get paired up together for missions and he has to see Sugilite in those meetings. Ratio who can admire his wit and charm but dislikes Sugilite for his personality, seeing him as a twisted version of Aventurine, one that does not care for others in for way he does.

Sugilite, who is charmed by this brilliant and headstrong doctor, and bothered by Aventurine’s capturing of Ratio’s attention, who attempts to get closer to Ratio both to spite his rival and because he wants to see what Ratio could do for him. Sugilite, who manages to finally corner the doctor and attempt to work up a conversation with him, only to be rejected immediately, which only intrigues the Stoneheart even more.

Oh what a fun game of cat and mouse it would be, and how lovely would it be to see Aventurine get JEALOUS over the attention Ratio is receiving.

Fuck it, I’m gonna write a fic about this because this is making me INSANE
