Between being a trainee

Debuting in a kpop group

Having the responsibilities of a leader

And always being mostly concerned with keeping the other boys safe and happy

Coups doesn’t really ever think about dating

His life is just a whirlwind of responsibilities that never really seems to end

Anytime the thought crosses his mind, he just reminds himself that he doesn’t really have the time

As the leader, everything falls back on him so keeps any other distractions outside of Seventeen minimal so the other boys can always depend on him no matter when or where it is 

But lately

He feels like he’s been able to breathe easier

Seventeen is successful 

All the boys have grown and are so responsible and able to handle most things on their own 

So Coups is slowly having some responsibilities lifted from his shoulders

And one day he realizes that the idea of dating doesn’t seem so impossible anymore

But who would he even date?

He’s pushed that idea so far out of his head that he hasn’t even considered whether he would date anyone around him

He sighs, expecting a fan, readying himself to be bright and sociable 

But he knows you

The two of you went to school together years ago

“Seungcheol, it is you! This is so great!” 

You exclaim and then pull him into a hug

He happily returns it, feeling a familiar warmth from seeing someone from his past

“This is insane, I honestly didn’t think I was ever going to see you again!” 

“Oh yeah” he looks down awkwardly. “I’ve been busy...”

“Well yeah, you’re only the leader of one of the biggest kpop groups out there!”

He knows that, of course he does

He’s worked long and hard to be S.Coups of Seventeen

But when you say it, he feels shy for some reason

You laugh happily 

“Hey, we have to catch up sometime! When are you free?”

Seungcheol rattles off his schedule for the next week

You find a free spot that you share, grab his number, and make the plans

It’s lunch at a restaurant you had never been to before

You sit awkwardly at the table you grabbed and wait anxiously for Cheol to show up

When he does run in, he stops at the entrance to look for you

When he spots you, he pauses, taking time to straighten out his clothes and brush out his hair

He clears his throat and then calls to you

You feel relief fill your veins when your eyes land on Cheol

You wave at him, a grin spread across your face

He rushes over to plop down in the seat across from you

Once you two catch up on what’s been going on, there’s a bit of a silence

He’s worried that that’s it

You two just had those few good moments and now you won’t have anything to talk about anymore

But then you bring up a story from your school days

“Remember that time, Minhyuk was rushing to get to class, but he wanted something to drink first...”

“And his hand got stuck in the vending machine???”

“Yes!”

You both laugh and bring up more memories and laugh more

It eventually opens up more conversation 

And soon speech just flows easily between you two 

Then Seungcheol looks down at his phone and realizes you two have been sitting there for hours

And to him that’s the sign

There’s a spark

“Hey, [Y/N], do you maybe want to get dinner sometime?”

“Are you asking me on a date Choi Seungcheol?”

Your mind gets taken back to high school

It was an overnight school trip 

Seungcheol had actually been able to come on that one, which was rare due to his schedule when he was a trainee

So everyone was excited to have him come along, the whole class celebrated for him to actually be able to come on the trip

You wanted to be excited too in order to be a good classmate

But 

You’d been having a rough week

Things went wrong with friends, family, grades

So you were kind of off the whole trip

You can’t even sleep

So you get up in the middle of the night and sneak out and walk around outside

It’s really pretty 

There’s a forest and a river

The stars are clear

You sit on the bank of the river and watch the stars sparkle in the reflection of the water

You jump when you hear someone walking behind you

“Hello? Is someone there?”

You can hear your voice shaking, and you feel dumb

“Relax, [Y/N], it’s just me!” Cheol’s bright voice sounds out from the darkness behind you

“Oh, hi Seungcheol, what are you doing out here?”

“I just went to use the bathroom. What about you? Why are you out here?”

“Couldn’t sleep”

You shrug and turn back to the river, embarrassed at the feeling of tears filling your eyes

Cheol’s shoulder brushes against yours as he sits next to you

“Wow, the view of this river is something else, can’t get this back home”

You shake your head to try and disguise your gesture of wiping tears off your face with your sweatshirt sleeves

There’s a moment of silence

“You don’t have to be embarrassed of crying, [Y/N]”

You freeze at his words

“Sorry if I’m making you uncomfortable, it’s just that... you’re not very good at hiding it”

You laugh a little despite the fact that tears are now pouring out of your eyes

“You wanna talk about it?”

“I don’t wanna burden you Seungcheol”

“It won’t be a burden, [Y/N], I promise”

So you let it all out

You tell him everything that was bothering you

And he listens silently as he folds a piece of paper

Once you’re done talking, he lets you cry it out

“I’m not really good at the whole advice thing sometimes, I’m not sure what to say to help you best”

He grabs your hands and and places the paper in them

“But I will tell you this: I know you’re a strong person and even if you feel like you can’t take it, you can lean on me for help!”

“When did you learn to do this Seungcheol?”

You stare at the paper he’s folded into a flower 

“Oh I can’t remember, I just do it sometimes”

You look up at him

He laughs a little at your expression and leans forward to wipe the rest of your tears off your face

“Why are you doing this, Seungcheol?”

“Doing what?”

“Being so... nice to me. We’re not really friends... I mean, it’s just... we’ve never been super close”

Cheol grins at you

“Because you’re special and you deserve it”

When your mind comes back to the present

You look up to see that Cheol has walked a few paces ahead of you

“You kept this from all the way back in high school? I thought I had lost it”

“You did,” Cheol laughs. “You dropped it on the trail back to the cabins, I snatched it up afterwards”

You stare at the flower, admiring how it’s held its shape all these years

You feel tears start to well up in your eyes

You quickly deflect by making a joke

“So Choi Seungcheol has been harboring a huge crush on an old classmate this whole time”

He shakes his head and grins at you, grabbing your hand to continue your walk

After that, Cheol is your whole world

You feel childish but you believe y’all were fated to be together

You put in the effort to spoil him as much as he does for you

You know he has a lot of pressure with being a leader

So you become a safe haven for him to rant out his problems

And you always do little stress relievers for him: back rubs, spa nights, tv binges with tons of junk food

You buy him little accessories and in-ears for him to use on stage

Sometimes you cook dinner for the boys so they don’t have to worry about it

The other members fawn over you constantly 

You and Cheol develop this ridiculous sense of humor that only the two of you get

You’re just a couple of nerds together

Whenever you’re at events together, he always has his arm around you

Freelancer

Two post in one quarter?!! I’m on a roll. I really don’t know what this is. I wanted it to be a series but I want to know if anyone is actually interested in reading something like this. Just a little background, I was inspired to write this after watching the music film for the connect. Seeing I.M. in front of the computer made me want to write a hacker au for him. There is not much going on in this part but I’ll post some more with some action later. This is just kinda of setting up the reader and I.M. relationship. Also I still haven’t found my glasses so there might be some typos.

‘If I take a double shift tomorrow and then we wish on a star, all our dreams come true, and he actually gets a paid project, we might be able to pay our bills without having to sell my left kidney.’ She watched the ramen in the pot cook. Her mind wandered off to other thing and soon she began to absentmindedly stir the noodles. Y/N was started out of her thoughts, as she heard the sound of front door to her studio apartment slam shut followed by the voice of her boyfriend, Changkyun.

“Hey,” Before she knew it he was behind her, his chin resting on his on her shoulder, his arms wrapped around her waist. “How was your day? Anything happen at the restaurant?” She felt safe with him around and being close with him after a stressful day made her worries fade away, temporarily.

“It was alright. I did trip and dropped a bunch of plates in the kitchen so that was fun” She said slightly joking, but the slight throbbing in her back reminded her that as funny as it was, it hurt more than she laughed.

“I keep telling out that you have to get rid of those old sneakers. The bottoms are so flat, there’s no grip on them.” He chuckled, his voice laugh deep and hearty. He nuzzled his face into the side of her neck, his breath tickling her skin.

“I can’t do that. Converse look better the more you wear them and the more worn the get.”

“You’ve had those since high school.” “Exactly, you can’t get all those years of dirt and grime back.”

“That’s gross.” He said moving away from her, making his way to the small sofa on the other side of the room. He plopped down on to it, sighing loudly. He was relieved to finally be home. The days that he had to spend that outside the comfort of his own couch, were undeniably the worst. But you have to make money to live, right?

“I would get a new pair but we just can’t afford to spend money on new sneakers like that right now.” Y/N finished the ramen bringing the pot over to the couch, along with two cans sodas that she had picked up earlier. She tossed one to to him before placing the pot on the coffee table in front of the sofa and taking a seat next to him.

“Speaking of money,” Changkyun groaned knowing exactly were the conversation was going. He really didn’t want to get into an argument today. Quickly, he leaned forward stuffing his face with ramen trying to avoid conversation all together. “Oh, come on Changkyun,” he looked at her mouth full and cheeks puffed out, looking at her with feigned innocence. “We have to talk about this.”

He chewed his food and swallowed before looking at her, “Yeah but not tonight, alright?” He said before giving her a kiss right on her closed lips, a smile spread across his face as she agreed in a less enthusiastic way. The both leaned back into the couch, slowly sinking into it. His thoughts became consumed with the show that was playing on the laptop that sat on a stool right across the coffee table. Y/N unfortunately couldn’t get into the tv show. She was too busy thinking about everything Changkyun wasn’t.

When Y/N looks back on their relationship, she never thought that this is where they would be. She honestly thought that they would have broken up at the end of high school. She didn’t think that they were going to last as long as they did when he asked her out at the beginning of their first year. But time after time, Changkyun stuck with her and in turn she became attached as well. But when third year started to come to a close, she knew that it was coming to a end. Changkyun had started to talk about moving away from their home town and all the plans that he had had for his future. The more he talked about it, the more she realized that she wasn’t included and at first it didn’t bother her, but as it started to sink in she realized that she really loved him and was too attached to say goodbye so soon.

She would remain silent about it in front of him. But when he wasn’t around, she started to look up all the places he mentioned. She even started to plan out what compromises for the two of them. One where she could go to her dream school and and not be to far away from him was impossible, so that was out. A long distance relationship was out of the question, she barely could text him regularly and they was each other everyday.The only option was to move out of their hometown together. But she didn’t want to intrude on his plans, so she had to talk to him. It was probably the most awkward conversation they have ever had but it was the most important.

At the end of it all, Y/N found that he always wanted her to be by his side but he was afraid she wouldn’t want to because she seemed destined to do bigger and better. Y/N had scholarships to some of the best colleges in the country lined up and waiting for her. Her passion being the arts, she could have studied anywhere she wanted and had a foot up in that difficult industry. Your future was waiting for you and he knew that he couldn’t keep up. So he never mention how he wanted to be with you after graduation. He was afraid that he wouldn���t be enough for you, and sometimes he still feels this way when he can’t give you everything you need and want. So in true Changkyun fashion, instead of talking about it he’d rather ignore the feelings in his heart and the thoughts racing in his mind. He act like everything was okay, for you.

After hours of binge watching some show, the both of them were too brain fired to take in another second. Y/N went to clean up their dinner and Changkyun closed down the laptop and packed it away with his other equipment. Changkyun seemed docile enough that Y/n thought now would be a good idea to talk to him now. She known him for years now and knows that to get him to listen would be during his sleepiest moments. She couldn’t outsmart him when he was wide awake but when he was on his way to lala land was her time to strike. He’d talk to her and promise her things during their pillow talk and in the morning she’d hold him to it. She wished that she wouldn’t have to use such secret tactics to get to him but it was really her only way.

“Babe,” She started noticing his tired walk as he carried himself to the bathroom and she followed. “The month is almost up and I don’t think we are going to make it.”

“We’ll make it, love. Don’t worry.” His muffled voice came out as he started to brush his teeth. You followed him and started as well not dropping the subject. Through muffled voices she let him know that her paycheck wouldn’t be enough. He finished first and washed his face before heading to the bed.

“Okay, I get it. And I am trying to do a little more. You know I’m just a free-”

“A freelancer, yes I know. But the stipend that that company gives you is not enough. They rarely give you any jobs since the first couple of months there. If your a freelancer, you should be able to work for anyone who pays.” You said coming out of the bathroom to sit across from him on the couch. Sinking into the cushions you watched him as he sat with back against the wall and  his phone in his hand as he typed away.

“Yeah, but I sign a exclusive contract with them for the rest of the year and if I were to pull out then there goes my only source of reliable income. I want to leave honestly but It would be even worse for us because I’d have nothing to give.” He sighed closing his phone and tossing it to the side. He looked at Y/N with tired eyes. She knew how hard he worked and she hated having this conversation more than anyone else. She never wants to pressure him but she had to stay headstrong.

He could see the frustration in you eyes. “But,” He offered carefully. “I do have something coming my way. It just going to take time before I can actually get paid for it.”

“Changkyun, how many times are you going to tell me that before you actually do get paid.”

“Hopefully not again. I’m already breaking my company contract so I’m risking a lot already. I know it’s been tough but this time it will be good. They are real serious about the work the want done and I can do it. We just have to wait until I actually finish the job.”

“So what do we do now, Changkyun? We need money and we need it fast. I doubt that Ms. Choi is going to let us give the rent in a couple weeks late. She’ll kick us out, then what will we do, huh?” She could feel her voice cracking and her eyes watering. She hated this feeling more than anything. It was like she was stuck between wanting to protect him and his fantasy that some how they’d be okay and the harsh reality that they were screwed. He looked at her knowing that the would burst out in tears at any moment. He scooted up to the edge of the bed holding his arms out.

“Come here. You know I hate to see you cry.” She got up and walked over to him becoming entrapped as he wrapped his arms around her hips. Pressing his head into her stomach, they stayed like this for a long moment. “I’m going to make this right to you, I promise.” At his promise he looked up at her. “Someday, you’ll never have to cry over money again. We’ll be so rich that our kids will have those cute little motor cars and they’ll drive them around our huge backyard of our mansion. When they get speed we’ll have a hired police man give them little tickets that that they could pay.” He smiled as he saw the edges of the mouth curl up into a little smile. “That’s how rich we’ll be. I swear. I just need a little more time”

“Our kids?” You asked a slight chuckled. She wanted to continue to argue but she couldn't find the strength when he looked at her like that.

“Yeah, I mean if you want kids. I would love to have a little baby that looks like you but I could teach to code like me.”

“Hey, I can code somethings! My old tumblr, I did that all by myself.” She giggled hitting him on his shoulder.

“Okay but when I try and show you other things, you can never get it.” The two of them moved further into the bed, lying down as the exhaustion of the day caught up with them.

“Yeah, past tumblr it gets to hard, so I give up.” She smiled and moved hair out of his face. “I love you, you know that, right?”

“You wouldn’t be dealing with me if you didn’t.”

“You got that right.” They both chuckled.

“I love you too.” He replied as he both of them got comfy under the covers and swiftly fell asleep.

It was late into the night when the bed started to vibrate. It woke Y/N slightly but as she opened her eye sightly, she noticed it was still dark outside. Changkyun on the other hand was wide awake from the vibrations. Quickly, he found his phone that responsible for waking them. Y/N couldn’t see who had called him, opting to try and fall back asleep. Changkyun, however, picked up as soon as he realized who called.In a hushed voice he talked to the other person, from time to time he would look over to Y/N, hoping he hadn’t been too loud and woke her up. Changkyun and the person on the phone agreed on something and he asked for address to be texted to him and with that, the phone call ended. Changkyun laid there for only a second debating whether or not to let you know that he was heading out. He decided against it and tried to get out of the bed as silently as possible. He quietly moved around the room packing up his laptop and some other equipment into his backpack. Shuffling into his sneakers, he looked at you sound asleep. He knew he had to do this for you. He exited the apartment making his way out into the night, not knowing that when closed to the door you rolled over in the bed to stare at the door.

Seventeen: A self-made group you should check out

Debuted in May of 2015, under the label Pledis Entertainment, who managed artists as After School, Nu’est and Orange Caramel, the group appeared in the tv show “Seventeen Tv” and made cameos on other artists from the label music videos. In the beginning the group was supposed to be composed of 17 members but due to some complications, ended up debuting with 13 members. They decided to maintain the name and explain that the meaning behind the name is that there are 3 units, 13 members and 1 team (3+13+1=17). The group is divided in 3 units: Hip Hop Unit ,Vocal unit and the Performance unit , the group has released 3 full-length studio albums, 2 compilation albums and 9 Ep, in all of them including songs by each unit and songs performed by the whole group.

Hip-Hop Unit

Made by the leader S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu and Vernon, this unit has released over 15 songs and has done covers of the other units songs. The unit has also appeared in different magazines, and perform live in normal concerts.

  Vocal Unit

Composed by the members Seungkwan, Dk, Joshua, Jeonghan and the groups main producer Woozi, this unit has released 16 songs and sings mainly ballads and performed in the Golden Disk Awards in 2021 with the song Hug. 

Performance Unit

Composed by the main dancer of the group ,The8, Jun, Dino and the groups main dancer and choreographer Hoshi, this team takes care of doing most of the choreographers for their unit and the group songs. This unit has 16 songs which include versions in Japanese and Chinese. 

Seventeen has been recognized worldwide for their multi talented members who are able to sing,rap,dance and participate in variety shows. The group also gained attention due to their international composition having 2 Chinese members (The8 and Jun) and 2 American members (Vernon and Joshua). The internet a while ago got curious about what group was the most in-sync in their dances and Seventeen was qualified as one of the best in their performance.

  The group also makes weekly content for their fandom called Carat through their show “Going Seventeen” when they play games, do sport competitions and also do horror content, Seventeen is the definition of a self-made group; of the 116 songs that Seventeen has released 111 have been produced by Woozi and Hoshi has credits from the choreographers in all of the groups albums and ep, the group received their first win a year after their debut with the song “Pretty U”, they never had a huge break out moment so they started to grow little by little each year. They are one of the most complete groups in Kpop due to all of their members being well-rounded, they even released a magazine in which all of the pictures were taken by Mingyu and other members like Joshua and The8 took care of assigning wardrobe while Woozi and Jun did hairstyles. You definitely should go look for some of the “Going Seventeen” episodes and their whole discography, you won’t regret it.

You looked outside the limo window as you were on your way to The Mama Awards. You were excited. You only debuted with your group 10 months ago and you were already nominated for Best New Female Artist. Five years of training has finally paid off with your group and being the leader you were beyond proud how hard you and the rest of the girls worked.

"Look." Arin the maknae pointed. "We're here." She said excited.

Your limo came to a stop as you watched the other idols walk down the carpet getting their pictures taken.

"Come on ladies." The door opened and your manager guided you towards the right direction. You were getting your pictures taken left and right. It was more nerve wracking but you just smiled and continued on your way along with your group.

Once inside you couldn't believe how huge the arena way. You couldn't help but smile seeing all the other artist you have idolize your whole life. To even be in the same room as them was an honor.

"Oh my god....Red Velvet." Jen-E practically yelled in your ear.

"Jeez Jen....calm down." You laughed.

"I'm sorry.....I love them."

"Now everyone knows." You smirked.

She smiled at you but her attention went to something behind you. "(Y/N)." She made a weird amused face.

"What?" You just looked at her confused.

She pointed behind you. You turned around and you immediately saw what she was getting at. You saw B.A.P. You have been a fan of them for a few years and you had the biggest crush on Jung Daehyun and your group members constantly teased you about it, or worse embarrass you in public. You happened to bump into him a few times at other events or shows and you had a habit of making a fool of yourself. He would just cutely smile and continued on his way but your members who laugh at you and even bring it up in interviews.

Arin spilled it on Weekly Idol a few months ago and you felt like you wanted to die. Doni and Coni offered to call him on the show and you literally wanted to cry. Daehyun probably even knows you now from all the public humiliations.

You couldn't help but stare as they passed by. They were performing their new song as well and you couldn't believe you get to be here for it.

"Close your mouth." Lexi laughed.

You blushed as you snapped back to reality. "Shut up."

"Go talk to him." Taena gently pushed you.

"No."

"This way." Your manager guided you.

You were taken to a pretty big table since your group had 9 members.

"Hey guys." You high fived S.Coups. You were a part of Pledis Entertainment so you were well acquainted with Seventeen. They got the table right next to yours so you could say you felt more comfortable. You all did.

"Congratulations leader." S.Coups hugged you from the success of being nominated.

"Thank you.....congrats to you guys too....you had a big year....tell Woozi to take a break." You both laughed.

"Okay."

You loved S.Coups, all of them really. They were like all your brothers. Little brothers since you were older then most of them. S.Coups and Jeonghan were the only ones who were older.

You took a seat and got comfortable. The show was about to start soon so the manager was strict on bathroom breaks since your award was early on in the show. You had no idea of your group was even gonna win or not since there was so many other new groups this year.

You decided to take a quick bathroom break before the show and you begged JenE to come with you so you were both rushed to the ladies room.

"Oh my God look." She pulled you closer. "Its Jinwoo."

Jinwoo from Winner. Her biggest crush. He was coming out of the men's room and he gave his cute dimple smile as he passed you.

"Uhh....I think I died." She almost fainted.

"You're pathetic." You laughed and walked forward. You were caught off guard as you bumped into someone coming from the men's room.

"Oh my God....I'm so sorr-" You looked up and saw who it was. Daehyun.

You quickly moved away and bowed. "I'm sorry." You said formally.

"Hey I know you." He smiled.

"I'll be in here." JenE walked into the girls room causing you a nervous look in her direction as Daehyun's attention went to her as she spoke. He looked back at you and you quickly smiled to avoid any awkwardness but that was impossible for you.

"I really like your music." He smiled cutely.

"You listen to us?" You asked surprised.

"Yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "I know you will win but good luck anyway."

"Thank you." He walked past you.

"Good luck on your performance." You quickly responded.

He returned a smile as he continued on his way. You practically ran into the bathroom and checked yourself in the mirror. You have never seen your cheeks more flushed before.

"What are you doing?" JenE asked as she walked out of the stall.

"Do I look okay?" You held your cheeks.

"Aw....you look so cute."

"Stop." JenE was the closest to you. You trained with her since day one and she was more like your sister, since it's been a while you have seen any of your real family.

"It's fine."

"Congratulations." S.Coups pulled you into a huge bear hug. He didn't care that your makeup rubbed tears were staining his jacket.

"I knew you were going to win." DK yelled.

"I helped." Hoshi put his arm around JenE. "My choreography."

"I helped too." JenE pushed him away.

"We should celebrate." Vernon joined in. "After the awards of course."

"I love you guys." Arin smiled bringing everyone into a group hug.

"I'm going to the restroom." You got up.

"You're gonna miss your boyfriend's performance." Lexi smirked.

"I'm just going pee." You smiled.

"You can go yourself this time." JenE slouched into her chair.

"Fine." You pouted but continue to leave.

After you washed your hands, you quickly fixed your makeup smears that happened from crying earlier. You made your way out of the restroom almost bumping into Daehyun again.

"We need to stop meeting like this." He blushed.

His blush caused you to blush making the environment heavy.

"Don't you perform soon?" You asked.

"I have ten minutes." He smiled.

"Can I ask you-" He started to ask but his attention glance over behind you. You followed his eyes and seen a bunch of reporters coming your way stopping every idol they can see.

"Lets try to avoid that." He laughed grabbing your hand and leading you into a random doorway.

"Woah." You said as you noticed you were in the room filled with all the trophies. The room wasn't that big but there was a lot of different trophies. The one shelf had tonights winners and another shelf full of blanks.

"Hum....I guess BTS win artist of the year." You laughed. "You spoiled the whole show for me."

"Sorry." He smiled.

"What did you want to say?" You said to your surprise calm for being in a freaking closet with your biggest crush.

"I wanted to ask if you really had a crush on me?" He leaned onto the door next to you.

"Um...-" You were speechless.

"I hope that means a yes." He blushed.

"Who told you?" You never been more nervous in your life. You can perform in front of thousands of people but you couldn't face your crush.

"I've been a fan of your group since you debuted and I've been told from different people but I just thought it was a rumor until...." He had a small smirk evident on his face.

"Weekly idol." The show that just loves to embarrass anyone of anyone.

He bit his lip making you weak. Your heart was beating out of your chest. "I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry?" He laughed.

"Its just embarrassing." You covered your face.

You felt him gently grab your hands to pull them away from your face. "I don't think so."

"Having my darkest secret revealed on live tv.....it's pretty embarrassing." You leaned your head against the door.

You arched your eyebrows at him.

You couldn't speak, instead you just bit your lip waiting for him to make a move. He gently caressed your cheek as he brought his lips towards yours. You felt the warm taste of his lips working against yours. You hesitated to respond since your were in complete shock this was actually happening.

Once you snapped back to reality and responded against him, you felt him smile against your lips. You felt his hands travel down to rest on your hips.

You grabbed the back of his neck to deepen the kiss. Your stomach burst with butterflies as his hips were aligned with yours. You could feel his excitement and you had the nerve to pinch yourself to see if this was real.

He moved away trying to catch his breath. He followed your eyes down and he blushed in embarrassment. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be." You reached for his belt. "How many minutes do you have?"

He looked at his phone. "7."

You undid his belt and unzipped his pants causing him to smirk. He moved your dress up so he could pull down your panties.

Random Waluigi Headcanon

 just a random idea, it all starts after the first Mario Tennis, Waluigi comes home, grabs some food in his... less than neat fridge, but what he didn't know was that his game on a court with pirannha plants, that and a um, less than desirable first contact with one of them (his hand still hurts thinking about it to this day), would result in a little seed staying on his hat, seed that he'd dust off near his kitchen, catching between the cracks. Now, back then, Waluigi had a pretty crappy house from being all, unknown to the rest of the world, heck, it took Wario meeting and "convincing" waluigi to play along with the tennis plan to actually do something with his sport skills at all. Wich meant that the house was still built on dirt, wich meant that the seed fell right under the cracks of the wooden floor of his kitchen. After that, Waluigi had a simple meal and just dozed off to sleep. He woke up to well, a miriad of sounds coming from his kitchen, but it sure sounded like someone was raiding his fridge! At first waluigi thought of a stray animal, then of a homeless man, then waluigi just thought that wario came to "visit", wich calmed him down, until he saw a small Pirranha Plant with leaves forming a sort of collar around his root doing all it could to stuff as much of whatever was still left in the fridge into his tiny mouth! Startled, Waluigi's first idea was to call the only person he knew who could deal with this, being Wario, it took him quite a while, Waluigi wasn't really keen on getting any closer to it, already having his fill of plant bites for his life (spoiler alert : it won't be his last), it took him a bit of calming down and looking at it from his banged up couch, but Waluigi eventually connected the dots, and he soon realized where this plant came from, and why he was so famished, and so small, then he heard the front door being knocked down (again), quickly seeing who it, and smelling who it was all the way from the kitchen, Wario must've ran all the way there judging by the smell. When Wario came up to the kitchen, to get rid of the flowery pest that Waluigi bothered him about while he was busy with, *ahem*, *important business* (eating garlic and lounging around's important for relaxation before risking your life treasure hunting!), when he got there, he couldn't believe what he saw, Waluigi was feeding that weed the food himself ! After Waluigi's explanation he couldn't believe his ears either ! He wanted to *keep* a piranha plant in his own house?!? During the next few years, Waluigi tended to it as a pet, got him a foodbowl, a pillow to sleep on, he even did some "adjustments" to the house for letting the little guy roam about (little paths were dug on the floor, leading to various parts of the house, Waluigi was meeting up with the rest of what he could now call his friends and managed to get himself to improve the house quite a bit, as well as just generally be a more positive person, and the new fella who was always there for him at home sure did help. Obviously he gave him a name, "Wally", fitting enough. Now during those times, and quite probably because of Wally, Waluigi took up Gardening as a hobby, getting a greenhouse built near his house, and quite literally filling it with plants of all sorts, Pirannha plants having their own section, now, while they were all still nice, in general, all of them never really were ever any different than Wally was on his first morning with Waluigi, though he did notice that they never had as much appetite as Wally, even to this day the little guy's a glutton! They were still nice playmates for Wally, but the little weedster was always quite keen on coming back to his owner when he was done with tending to the other plants. At this time, nobody exept Wario really still knew about the fella, Waluigi preffered to keep quiet about raising the same kinds of plants that the princess's two favourite goody two shoes got their butts nipped by enough times to cringe just seeing them on the sport or kart fields. Around what you could, i suppose call the Wii era, Wally, felt a bit... different. Smarter for one, he was always a smart guy for a plant, but not to the point of being able to use the tv remote! Then, it was him growing two leaves on his root that he started to use as makeshift limbs, it was kind of awkward in the first few weeks, but eventually he got the hang of it, still, it was better than waluigi going back from whatever trip to see the remote drenched in drool... all that just made waluigi jollier than even Wario ever saw him, then, the weird pattern at the base of his root started to appear, purple and yellow polka dot pattern, strange, definitely, but nothing else, after that a few days later, near where the polka dot pattern was, Wally started to somehow swell up? This left Waluigi at shock, and with a miriad of questions, what could he do? Was something wrong? Did he get sick? Can plants even get sick? Where could he bring him? He surely couldn't barge into a vet's office with a plant known for being ravenous and ferocious all around, and there was certainely now way that he could contact anyone in the botanist circle about that either, he didn't want his good pal turned into some sideshow! So, he did what he thought was best, he didn't show up to karting, parties or sporting events to take care of his buddy. At that point, things stagnated for a while, he ignored Wario's calls during that period, Wario might bring some unwanted attention, and *he*'s the flower expert, not him! And so, one night, after he made sure that Wally was firmly asleep, he dozed off too. The next day, he woke up to Wally "staring" at him, sitting on the bed next to him, startled, Waluigi fell out of the bed, and realized something, his pal grew legs! Well, little ones, but he sure could move around anyways. Finally Waluigi made the connection like he did many years ago, the collar of petals around him, the sudden growth of limb like leaves, the polka dot pattern, the higher than average intelligence, his palnt was a petey! well, whatever kind of species petey is anyways. It was strange at first, now he surely didn't need those dirtpaths all around his house anymore for one. Though the most important one was something he realized during dinner, now that he could actually get onto a chair and use knives and forks like anyone else could, that he was definetely smarter than a dog for sure! and he could just, follow Waluigi wherever he wanted without needing a pot or something of the sort, wich Wally hated anyways, his pet status wasn't really warranted anymore so, with whatever money he had, he got him a nice little bed next to Waluigi's, sat with him at dinners, got to relax on the couch, heck, the little guy even managed to use a computer quite well, plus, sure, normally, while Wally's quite good at communicating through motions, in terms of actual sentences, he never could muster up more than weird gurgles and gargles, being able to type (well, somewhat, leaves aren't the best for that, but he does what he can), ever since he became an "adult" (Waluigi sure still felt like he was a kid, and really in terms of behaviour he wasn't wrong), it just felt like Waluigi had... a son? Waluigi finally presented him to everyone after that day, who were for one relieved to finally see him come back, heck, ever Wario was crying! Oh, and luigi too, whatever... While not actually signing up to the big events, Waluigi's been training him to be one day, hopefully even better than his "papa Waluigi", he's actually quite good at it, though he's not really a fan of seeing Petey play, he's... not a fan of petey, one time, waluigi actually asked him back home while they were watching a replay of a basketball tournament that happened recently, Wally got up from the couch, and after a minute or two of fiddling with the computer's keyboard, he simply wrote "i dont like him, he gives me a bad rap, that bozer guy raised him like a spoiled brat!!!!!!". Eventually, Waluigi got to set up an audience with Peach to actually legally consider Wally a citizen of the Mushroom Kingdom, Wally's cheeks hurt after that, but the tea was the best he ever had, and she agreed! He actually gets along quite well with most guys, he doesn't really get why Waluigi hates Luigi so much, but tends to be nice to him when he can, but he sure has made pals with Diddy! They're always eager for a match together, and won't miss a mark! Dk also kind of reminds him of "uncle Wario". Wario himself warmed up to him after all that, he usually didn't really like having a carnivorous plant going around after a hard time treasure hunting and having to avoid *other* carnivorous plants, even if he was pretty docile! But now, seeing him play around with Waluigi, he's actually quite nice to him, usually giving him some garlic or money he "found under his couch" to go buy something if he wants, Waluigi usually buys the stuff Wally wants for him though, he's um, a big spender. iKON, YG’s first runner to comeback in 2018, have released their 2nd official album ‘RETURN’. In the official album released in 2 years, the group once again promised to “focus on promoting in Korea” for the fans.

B.I and BOBBY have unique rapping skills. JAY, SONG, and JU-NE with harmonious vocals, and last but not the least, the youngest CHAN who completes the team lineup with his strong visuals.

Thanks to iKON, blessed are our eyes and ears this 2018.

How was the pictorial shooting.

BOBBY: I liked the drowsy concept. I felt like the concept was better portrayed under the sun rather than stage lighting.

SONG: It wasn’t my first time, but it’s not a concept which members of iKON are used to. We usually do pictorials with a strong vibe, so it was special.

It’s your reunion with ‘@star1’ in 2 years since March 2016.

JU-NE: Right. I enjoyed watching OnStyle’s ‘Korea’s Next Top Model’, so I remember I was surprised to see photographer Cho Sunhee at the shooting scene.

SONG: We actually have the photos right in front of us and we prefer the deadly facial expressions in here (Laughs). Please think of us as becoming more versatile on diverse concepts.

How would you describe your new album.

B.I: What I can say is that the new song is really different. You’ll understand when you get to hear it. Nobody ever said they didn’t like the song (Laughs).

JU-NE: A musical-like song? You’ll be humming the melodies even if you only heard it once.

The music video was also impressive.

CHAN: It was the first time we filmed with motion control cameras (MCC). It was both new and interesting to film the same motions again and again based on the camera’s beat.

BOBBY: The filming process was fun so there will be a lot of interesting elements in the video. The choreography is also stylish and cool, so the camera angles and the mood during our choreography will feel special to the viewers.

Some fans were waiting for a song with an emotional melody, like ‘MY TYPE’.

B.I: Fans who liked ‘MY TYPE’ will like our new song. It has an easy melody.

BOBBY: Right. Anybody will feel comfortable while listening to the song, which is just like ‘MY TYPE’. The song fits not only winter, but all 4 seasons.

SONG: I feel like I have the most public ear among other members. It was a song I can easily hum the melody, so the other listeners will probably think the same.

YANG HYUN SUK even called it a ‘legendary new song’.

B.I: It’s a ‘legendary’ conjunction. We feel grateful that our president expects a lot and cheers for us.

Will you be keeping your promise on ‘focusing in Korea’. 

DK:We know how long our fans have waited for us. So, I hope this album becomes a great start of iKON’s activities in 2018. We missed our Korean fans as well.

CHAN: I felt sorry for the fans who felt disappointed or sorry that we weren’t on many TV programs or stages. We want to meet and communicate with the fans at a closer range, so they won’t feel that anymore.

You focused on the Japanese market last year. What did you learn? 

BOBBY: We learned to communicate with the fans on stage. We got more natural and experienced. But we still have a long way to go.

SONG: I used to be nervous before going on any type of stage. Now I feel fluttered with joy (Laughs). Nervous to excitement, that was probably my biggest growth.

B.I: We didn’t get to perform a lot in Korea. We would feel really happy to meet the Korean fans through a lot of performances.

How did you spend your free time in Japan. 

SONG: We have two groups, a gourmet group and a ‘stay in the room’ group. The gourmet group spend time in search of great restaurants, while the ‘stay in room’ group spend free time in the hotel. BOBBY and B.I are usually in the ‘stay in room’ group.

JU-NE: I personally wandered around listening to music. I felt like I was traveling while seeing and hearing a lot of things. We’re all adults, so sometimes we’ll get a beer, and have small talk.

I wonder who’s the most popular member among Japanese fans.

CHAN: JU-NE and JAY. I wouldn’t say most popular but they are fluent in Japanese. They communicate with Japanese fans very well.’

The group starred in JTBC’s ‘iKON PICNIC’. Which member found their hidden variety senses. 

B.I: I don’t have any memories of a school trip. So, the program felt like a new experience rather than a shooting to me. I felt like going back to my teenage years and having fun with my friends. SONG is the best in variety senses. He was amazing.

JU-NE: Right. SONG finalized his character through this show.

B.I: SONG accepted our concept proposal we made for him. And he did it right.

SONG: You’re making fun of me (Laughs). We had very young people star in the show with us, so we filmed with responsibilities as older brothers.

Q Now what does iKON’s youngest member think of his brothers. Who would you introduce to a younger sister.  

CHAN: (Laughing) B.I. Some people think he only looks smart, but he’s a pure person. If I had a younger sister, I’d like to introduce her to a pure person.

The filming for ‘iKON PICNIC’ took place in Jeju Island. How was it. 

JAY: I was born in Jeju Island. So, I didn’t get what people think of Jeju Island as a place of travel, but now I’m starting to. It felt more like a place of living to me. Now I feel comfortable and my mind heals when I think of Jeju Island. Even more so after the shooting.

What variety programs would you like to make appearance in the future. 

B.I: Every program, if I get a chance (Laughs).

JU-NE: tvN’s ‘Life Bar’. I like the mood of sincere talking while having a drink.

JAY: SONG is specialized in variety programs using self-cameras (Laughs). He’s a good cook, so a ‘mukbang’ program such as Olive’s ‘One Night Food Trip’ would suit him as well.

SONG: I have a very frank character. I can’t lie. When I taste something I don’t like, I just say it. That’s probably why they’re recommending me a cooking variety program. I would like to suggest a survival variety program for JU-NE and JAY. I want them to go through a hard experience, like they do in SBS ‘Law of the Jungle’ (Laughs).

JAY & JU-NE:  Hahaha.

Who’s the best chef among members. 

CHAN: SONG is the best. He often cooks for us when we’re by ourselves, and it tastes good.

SONG: They all like it. BOBBY doesn’t like seafood, but no member has contrasting opposite taste. They all enjoy my food (Laughs).

Audition variety programs are popular these days. How do you feel. 

JAY: We’re audition experts. We’ve all been tested many times.

B.I: Right, audition experts. JAY and JU-NE took auditions four times.

BOBBY: My parents feel empathy. They think of me when they watch audition programs. However, I don’t feel a lot of empathy. Everyone has different circumstances and environments. I just hope everything works out well for everyone.

DK: It reminds me of old times. I feel empathy when I watch contestants suffer. I feel like I’m watching the old me.

B.I: When I was in a survival program, TAEYANG told me, “You’re having your best time”. I didn’t understand back then but now I do. It’s not like I want to go back, but the passion and spirit back then became a big help.

Are you confident enough to win if you try out for another audition program.

B.I: No. There are so many talented people these days. It scares me just to think about how I would compete with those people (Laughs).

JU-NE: I’m confident (Laughs). If we must try again, I’ll put my everything and try my best to get results, as I always have. It’s not out of conceit, but since I still remember and keep my first intentions.

Is YANG HYUN SUK like himself in JTBC ‘MIXNINE’. 

JU-NE: He laughs more. He got brighter.

SONG: He used to feel scary, but now he’s like a father. I almost shed tears when I recently met him. He warms my heart from the inside.

B.I: It’s probably because you’re kind and have a lot of tears. Our president really laughs more often these days, not just in the program.

It’s already 2018. How would you evaluate last year, 2017.

JU-NE: Well, we’ve been through a lot. Sometimes I feel like I should’ve done better. I would like to make improvements in those aspects in 2018.

JAY: 2017 was a year with a bit of frustration. I want 2018 to become a year we get closer to our dreams.

BOBBY: We’ve done a lot of tours overseas, so I feel like we grew a lot.

B.I: We could’ve done better.

DK: I got a chance to look back into myself. I’m really looking forward to this year.

CHAN: In a broad sense, there were many unfortunate incidents in Korea. It hurt my heart and hope that in 2018, everyone stays happy and healthy.

SONG: Unlike 2 years ago, 2017 was a year of healing. We had some time off while performing a lot of concerts. It became stepping stone for a more successful 2018.

What kind of determination does iKON have for 2018. 

B.I: Be ‘iKON’, as always. We hope 2018 will be a year we pursue our dreams with spirits of youth and freedom rather than chasing materialistic results, while staying healthy.

Lastly, say something for the fans that have waited for iKON. 

JAY: We’re excited since we will have more opportunities to communicate and show ourselves in front of fans in Korea. Please look forward to it and continue to support us. Thank you as always.

Welcome to the latest edition of DCN Cosplay Spotlight, where we talk to people in the wonderful world of cosplay.  This month we had the pleasure of talking with a member of the DC Cosplayers East and the Philadelphia Avengers, the Dark Knight of PA!

DC COMICS NEWS: Batman is arguably one of the most popular, well-known superheroes to ever exist.  What is it about this character, for you, in particular that made you want to create a cosplay?

DARK KNIGHT OF PA: Batman has always been a part of my life. The first comics I remember seeing when I was a child were Batman comics. The 60’s Batman series and the old Filmation Batman (and other DC characters) were also on TV every day. I was drawn to the character for many reasons; the costume, the absence of superpowers, the gadgets, the Batmobile, etc.

DCN: With Batman being such an iconic character to so many people, do you find there to be a lot of pressure to portray the Dark Knight in a certain way?

DK: I don’t really worry about that. I think everyone has their own vision of what Batman should be. I just show my vision. I have several variations of the Batsuit, and none of them are 100% comics or movie accurate, and that is intentional. Personally, I always prefer the oval emblem over the plain bat on the chest. I also prefer an all black or gray and black suit. Even though the first version of Batman I ever saw was gray and blue, the blue never made sense to me. Have you ever seen a blue bat?

DCN: How long have you been cosplaying?  What was your first ever project?

DK: I was cosplaying before cosplay was a word! My first custom Batsuit was back when I was about 5 years old… many decades ago. My grandfather put it together for me. Back then, Halloween costumes were the old Ben Cooper things. A plastic face mask with a rubber string, and basically a plastic poncho that had an image of the character on it. My grandfather took an old Ideal Batman “helmet”, which was a hard plastic version of the bat cowl that covered my whole head. He painted it black, because even at 5 years old, I insisted that blue had no place on a Batsuit. He made a black bat cape for me by cutting scallops in a large black sheet. He modified black rubber boots to look the Batman boots, and added scallops to black leather cowboy gloves. The bodysuit was dark gray flannel pajamas with an oval bat emblem attached (made from cardboard and glued on). He also got black trunks for me, and somehow made a yellow utility belt from a leather belt and pouches scavenged from somewhere. I wish I still had pictures, but the Polaroids were lost many years ago. Years later, in 1989, I bought all the Morris pieces licensed for the Batman movie, and started customizing. So, I have been constantly modifying Batsuits since 1989 and wearing them for parties, cons, and other events.

DCN: What has been your favorite cosplay project so far?

DK: Costume wise, probably my Batman Inc suits. I really loved that costume in the comics and I wish they kept using it. But, the “New 52” ruined that (among other things). Group project wise, working with DC Cosplayers East to do a Justice League International group for a con and meeting the creators of JLI. We also did a fun photo shoot and got to recreate the “one punch” scene. Most of my favorite pictures are recreations of comic book panels.

DCN: How long did it take you to create this cosplay?

DK: It’s a constant work in progress. Every Batsuit I wear is the result of everything I’ve learned since 1989. I am currently working on some modifications to the newest suit that will probably take a month or two. As soon as that is done, I’ll probably come up with other things I want to change and the process will continue.

DCN: What is it about cosplay that calls to you?

DK: I love bringing comics to life. I remember being in first grade and the teacher asked us what we want to be when we grow up. My answer was “Batman”. Now, being around other people wearing superhero costumes is like living a childhood dream and at the same time bringing a smile to others, especially the children who believe they really are meeting Batman.

DCN: Do you have a favorite memory or story while cosplaying?

DK: I can’t pick just one. So many people (both children and adults) have been so excited to get a picture with me, talk to me, or just shake my hand. Seeing the joy in their faces makes all the time and money spent on Batsuits well worth it. I frequently do events at Ontario Street Comics in Philadelphia (the best comic shop in the world, and the comic shop that a scene from ‘Unbreakable’ was filmed in) and there are several families that show up every time I am there. I can look back at pictures from the past few years and see the kids growing up. When I talk to these people each time I see them, they make me feel like I am part of their family.

DCN: You were recently nominated as the “Favorite Philly Celebrity” in an “A-List” competition.  Tell us a little about this experience, how it came about, and what it has meant to you.

DK: That’s a bit of a surprise. It started with Ontario Street Comics, which has been voted the #1 Comic Shop on the list for the past 5 years. I was nominated late in the competition. I think voting began on October 16th and I was nominated a month later. I really didn’t expect to get many votes, but within a week, I was in the lead! Results are hidden now, so I have no idea who will win. I don’t expect to win, I don’t consider myself a celebrity, but it was nice to see so much support from so many people in such a short time. I really appreciate it, and it has encouraged me to get out and do more events.

DCN: Outside of cosplay do you have any other interest/hobbies?

DK: JUSTICE! And also comics, movies, pretty much all things geeky.

DCN: How do your friends and family feel about you cosplaying?  Are they supportive?

DK: Most are supportive, even if they don’t understand it. My youngest daughter has been Batgirl at many parties and conventions with me. She really does a much better job than I do. She is amazing with kids, and always puts a smile on their faces. She’s a natural!

DCN: Do you have a pet peeve when it comes to cosplay?

DK:  1.) I’ve only seen this once or twice, but it really burns me up. If you are in cosplay, and a child wants a picture with you, say YES! I don’t care what else is going on, what panel or photo shoot you are on the way to, take a moment and give that child their wish. You are representing a hero, act like one. Yes, I know this can lead to another child and another pic, and slow you down more, but it’s worth it.

2.) Nitpickers – if someone has the courage to get out in public in a home made, or store bought costume, don’t bring them down. Not everyone has the time, patience, skill, or money to make a “perfect” cosplay. Some people are just starting out and don’t have the experience… encourage them, don’t put them down.

DCN: Do you have any cosplays you will never do? And if so, why?

DK: Never say never, but I doubt I will ever do a cosplay that includes guns. I know there are many characters where guns are a part of the character (Punisher, Deadpool, Deadshot, etc) and I respect those characters and the cosplayers that choose them as a character, but it’s just not for me.

DCN: Why do you think cosplay has become so popular in the last few years?

DK: I think all the comic movies and TV shows that have been so popular for the past several years have called attention to the characters. Social media, and the internet in general have given people easy access to pictures of people cosplaying these characters, online tutorials on how to create cosplays, and access to buy costumes year round. There was a time before the internet when you could only find costumes and supplies in September and October, unless you lived near a costume/theatrical supply store. Before social media, there were message boards where people could exchange ideas and buy/sell/trade costume items. This made things easier, but you still had to know what you were looking for to find the boards, cosplay wasn’t a term at that time.

DCN: Which DC character, if any, may we see next from you?

DK: Flashpoint Batman (without guns)? Yellow or Green Lantern Batman? Or maybe Green Arrow… since he is the CW’s Batman. 🙂 I also keep kicking around a couple Marvel characters (Moon Knight and Captain America) so maybe somewhere down the line I will do those, but they just don’t call to me like the bat does.
