Was this stranger a remnant of the past, speaking disaster so easily?

"I'm tired too." He wasn't trying to outdo the Horseman, just making a simple statement. "Maybe.." He starts, licking his own lips. "Maybe it's time to lay down our weapons and quietly forfeit." The fighting didn't seem like it'd be over anytime soon. At least not with both sides fighting like hell (pun not intended) to win.
