Introduction time I guess

bioshock 2- i can't find a video of the actual scene but if you spare Grace Holloway and then leave her apartment complex and have a little sister begin harvesting ADAM in her lobby, Grace will sing to you

bioshock infinite (derogatory (/hj))- ngl everything Elizabeth does up to the point where you go into the martyr!Booker timeline is just. so good and sweet i really do love her hdjjsbdbd, this scene stands out tho

BRIGID TENENBAUM.... she's done horrible things and once she realizes that she risks her life time and time again to right her wrongs. she escapes from rapture but returns after a decade to save another generation of Sisters from the cycle of pain she started. i also love how straightforward she thinks, and the fact that she's a low-empathy character who obviously Cares A Lot, even as someone who isn't low empathy i know how important that is. shes just fantastic we stan a well handled morally gray woman

THE ART IS SO CUTE AND COLORFUL, the gameplay is So Rewarding and fun it's nice to just chill and wander (well, wander specifically because im working my way through Amazing Mirror hfjdhdb)

DUDE grayson is such a good man with a big heart but he's a bit tsundere about it. he's the type of man who puts himself into danger to protect who he loves has to be stuck with and doesn't want you to bring it up ever. he's just a dad, man, I love him. I would die for him. and he would die for his friends.

and then you have isabeau who is SO CUTE and STRONG and FUNNY and honestly just kinda perfect?? she has a backbone and she's headstrong and if anyone else thinks grayson is Dad #1, it's isabeau

lafayette is dumb. he's dumb and suave and he's a marquis and honestly he just thinks with his dick but he's also got a heart of gold. he does think the best for his people and he and grayson are good friends!!

What's ur fav type of genre :0??

HI HELLO IT”S WONDERFUL TO SEE YOU (also sorry this is late i’ve been scatterbrained  and running around everywhere these past few days and saw this just now)

I love reading almost every kind of genre that exists, but the genre I often find myself gravitating towards most is fantasy!

It’s usually the characters and the story lines that do it for me. If they are well thought out and interesting and emotionally investing then I find that I’ll happily go on whatever ride the book takes me. And often when I want to read I want to forget where I am and go on an adventure of some sort or another, whether that adventure is of a physical or emotional journey or both. both is good. I want to read something that thrills me, soothes me, and gives me hope, and it’s almost always fantasy that does that for me.

I don’t know what it is about fantasy but more often than not even when it’s aimed towards adults the fantastical elements of it makes it so that even when there are sad and miserable and hopeless moments there’re also moments of joy and wonder and incredible humility and courage and I am always, always in need of more of that in my life. I’ll eat up that positivity wherever I can find it.

But then again, it’s also because of this that I tend to gravitate towards kids and young teen fiction, they do tend to be so full of love and hope (speaking of which why is so much adult fiction is supposed to be serious and dark and full of false love and heartbreak? i don’t get it?? it makes me much rather go running towards the wonderful and romance-filled fanfictions i love so much)

Aside from this other genres I love are: historical fiction (and in particular political intrigue when it’s done correctly), adventure, romance (in this case particularly fanfiction, since mainstream romance has tended to disappoint me and fanfiction writers actually Know Where It’s At), science fiction, some mystery and suspense, surreal fiction of the mind-screwy variety (not horror tho, i’m skittish around those), and especially steampunk and all its variations (dieselpunk, cyberpunk, solarpunk, hopepunk - give them all to me I love them).

Shadows of Asphodel by Karen Kincy

it’s a new adult dieselpunk trilogy (with two novellas) set in 1913 and it’s about a half-chinese half-white (you get to know her heritage from her white dad side in book 3 tho) mercenary who fled her homeland and a necromancer she saved in a battlefield as they travel through an europe on the brink of war (WWI tho this is a dieselpunk au and stuff is different). 

there’s romance and steamy times, there’s banter, there’s magic (the Hex is something the Archmanges have concocted to nullify guns and the stuff in hopes to prevent war. jokes on them tho) there’s dieselpunk visuals, ZEPPELINS, time magic, murder plots galore and SWORDS!!

it’s far from perfect but it’s really good! you can read my CR thread(s) on twitter but I suggest only reading the first in case you’re interested (HERE)
