Okay, I think jinkook would be for desi-boyz, for 3-idiots maybe the maknae line or joon/jin as rancho, suga as raju and hobi as farhan.. I think jimin/tae would really suit any srk character because they have a very natural/genuine flirty charm with is a must for romance flicks.. 94 line for student of the year —munda 6 foot da *kukkad plays* that's our boy joon right there! Or even tae/jk? Or tae/jimin?

I don't why but suga or jin for lootera(?) Jin/joon for ra one —I've watched one too many chamak challo edit on instagram for the boys. Tae for jab we met.. koo for wake up sid and rockstar —i think jungkook really could take up any role because he's such a versatile personality in real life that I think it'd translate well over screen too. You can have him as a Don, as ranbir in yeh jawaani hai deewani or even barfi or tamaasha or rockstar or bachna ae haseeno. I think jungkook could pull off many ranbir kapoor movies. Joon/jin for Krish, those broad shoulders and physique is required for the very few superhero-ish movies that we have. Again Jin for Dhoom 2, I can see him being the white sculpture in that museum very clearly! Hobi or Jimin for Kaabil, Jinkook for war, Jin for guzaarish, Joon for ghajini, Jimin for fanaa, tae for Taare Zameen par!

I haven't really watched much bollywood movies in the recent years 😅 so all my thoughts are from older movies —but I'd like to know what you think, maybe on a later date I'll make a better list and send in another ask but this all from the top of my head!

I'm gonna put my response to everything (yay!!) under the cut:

1) OKAY JINKOOK DESI BOYZ AU IS GONNA HAPPEN... AT SOME POINT

2) Rapline as the 3 idiots pls 🥺🥺🥺. I think Joon is perfect as Rancho... just the right amount of cute and awkward. I think Yoongi seems like more of a Farhan to me though!! I always see him as the introspective one.

3) YESSSS.... I always imagine Tae as Raj from DDLJ (this is partly based on that clip of him playing the violin in a beret lmao) but he fits the nostalgic romance vibes so well. I see Jimin as more of the flirty, fun SRK roles like Dil To Pagal Hai or KKHH!

4) 94s in SOTY would be so interesting! I can definitely see Joon in Sid's role, but I'm unsure about Hobi as Varun. I like to imagine Taekook in those roles haha... all the girls would go crazy over them LMAO

5) OK this is shameless self-promo but I've actually always loved Hobi for Lootera. So much so I even wrote an entire fic, Autumn Leaves with him as the protagonist in Varun's role (it's one of my favorite things I've ever written). I think Yoongi/Jin would also be great choices though.

6) Maybe I'm a diehard hyung line stan, but I want Namjoon as Aditya! I actually think Tae would be more perfect in Geet's role - how fun would it be to see the roles reversed between them!

7) Jungkook is so versatile - he'd be perfect for wake up sid... or even Rockstar (I am a secret devotee of that movie I think it's so underappreciated). I've also imagined Yoongi in the Rockstar role. The one role I think JK totally embodies is Bunny in YJHD though, so you hit the nail on the head with that (it's one of my favorite movies!)

8) JOON FOR KRRISHH!! We've all seen his body. Nuff said.

9) I think maknae line would be so fun for Dhoom 2! Like maybe Vmin as Jai and Ali, and Kook as Hrithik?? I just see them being both comedic but also good eye candy for those high octane-action scenes.

10) I haven't watched Kaabil! I totally agree with JinKook for War though, that would be a great role, especially because they have such a good hyung-dongsaeng relationship, so it'd be interesting to turn that on its head.

11) JIN FOR GUZAARISH THO??? ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY (Seokjin angst is my fatal weakness).

12) Jimin would be so good for Fanaa... i'd love to see his transformation from the flirty tour guide to (no spoilers).

WHICH BOLLWOOD MOVIE WOULD YOU CAST BTS IN? ✨

GEOMETRY OF THE HOLY MOON (1 AM): A SHORT STORY

GENRE: surrealism, literary fiction.

POV & TENSE: this little space is not enough for how wild the form is so i talk about this later!!

SETTING: a small desi village, 1924-25.

TONE: dreamy, unsettling, melancholic.

THEMES: faith vs reality, how people perceive others and how they perceive themselves, grief dealt the wrong way.

AESTHETICS: the splash of water on a quiet night, thick clouds obscuring the sky, rippling the moon’s reflection on the water. the intensity of a garden in spring, the emptiness of a dying town, the suffocation from being singled out. hands grazing lightly but never fully held. a lingering sadness behind your laugh. believing in things you shouldn't believe in. putting faith on a starless sky.

STAGE: completed first draft, 4085 words.

LOGLINE: a young boy, surrounded by loss, claims to talk to god. the story follows him and his conversations with this god, all while his village spies on him as he weaves his way around the two most crucial and lonely years of his life.

LITERAL LOGLINE: on today’s news let’s talk about a small backward town that hates sad little boys who worship god, even though the place is lowkey a cult!!

CHARACTERS:

THE SUMMER BOY: he’s around thirteen, and he’s very emotionally attached to his past. he lost his family at a young age to an unstable force, so he spends his time talking to himself. he’s a quiet, demure and sweet person, always willing to help others. he’s outwardly oblivious and sees only the good in people to a point where he doesn't understand when they’re trying to do him wrong. but! considering how the story [like a lot of my others] has themes of perception vs reality, it needs to be said that he isn't all that innocent. he’s rather impulsive and rash, never afraid of hurting himself [and thus accidentally harming others].

A GOD: is he real? do we even know if he’s an actual god? a very elusive figure despite having a lot of screentime. he’s a surprisingly humanised character and arguably the one with the most empathy. he has a soft spot for the boy and the two have a deep bond which is not common for a human and a god to have. you don’t get insight to what the other gods are like, but they’re implied to exist. this story has a very messy and hazy view towards religion and godhood and their nature towards humanity, and this vague figure, a dreamlike character, is proof enough of that.

THE VILLAGE: okay so in general these people suck. the village consists of, well, the village, but they’re very fluid in the way they appear in the story? as in for the most part they appear as a collective, a unit. one character, the summer boy’s “friend”, is somewhat separate considering he’s a pretty important character. it’s very hard describing this unit of a character but essentially they’re the main antagonistic force and they hate the protagonist for seemingly no reason.

WHAT GOES DOWN:

sometime around this time, the boy chances upon meeting his “god”, this being who lives up in the clouds and whom he talks with often, except you don't know if this god is real or not. that’s one of the recurring themes of this story: what’s real and what isn’t. it’s :) a fun time :) for sure :)

essentially Things Happen And It Only Gets Weirder. i cannot even try describing what happens because it’s all very spoilery but let’s just say that this is a very sad story but not even in a “this makes me cry” manner, but rather in a “this is so fucked up wtf why”. the prose of this is very, very hazy and thick, in a manner that’s both smooth and suffocating. there’s also a lot of moon and water imagery which we love. i love the atmosphere + the setting—colonial india— as it’s a subtle but key element to the plot.

FORM:

OKAY YES be prepared for the true colours of how unhinged i am. i apologize for the form brainrot.

POV: so in this story i really said “what if it had all three of the main povs... jk jk... unless 😳😳” and then proceeded to use all three povs. you’re probably wondering, how did i do that? WHY did i do that? and my answer to that is: 🙂

the first-person pov: the summer boy narrates in first person. his pov takes up about 40% of the story, and this is where we unlock family backstory + how he feels about the various forces playing into his life. he’s an extremely unreliable narrator and he knows it; his narration oscillates between very naive and very self-aware, and this effect is pretty disconcerting. the summer boy is kind of a walking contradiction and we love that conflict.

the second-person pov: a god narrates in second person. his pov takes around 20% of the story, and his scenes all involve his conversations with the boy. his pov is extremely detached, and suspends belief because he seems awfully made up. there’s an edge to the prose in his narration, where you know that something's off, but you can’t exactly pinpoint what.

the third-person pov: the villagers narrate, either as a collective, or as an individual figure, in third person. they take up the other 40% of the story, and there are so many different people and differing opinions with this, and every time we read a third person excerpt it’s a different person, and this is mostly used to add onto the different ways in which the boy is perceived. this is also where the structural part of the form gets really wacky.

STRUCTURE: if my story isn't told in vignettes is it my story though /j. gothm is told in vignettes, each one between 50 to 500 words. the first and second person bits are normal-ish vignettes, with straightforward narration. the third person vignettes, on the other hand, are super assorted. we have a lot of epistolaric sections— there’s a letter, a folk song [which was found around the summer boy], and most of the conversation is told as just plain dialogue without tags. there’s also a phone call transcript, and finally some normal chunks of prose. what am i doing wtf.

also to add onto this the story is told non-linearly. 😀 the only thing that keeps me from going insane is the fact that there are chronological tags before most vignettes [also the manner in which they're tagged differs from pov to pov. for example a few of the third person conversations are marked just as “sunday” or “thursday”, while the summer boy’s narration is marked with the full date and year]

in all this clownery i completely forgot to mention what the tense was [the way everything else was so complicated that i forgot tense was a thing lmao] and good news!! it’s the only sane thing about this story!! it’s told fully in present tense. thank everything.

AN EXCERPT:

okay i’m once again not sharing much because this will be submitted to litmags 🧞

[The boy is scrawny as always. He carries an air of diswant— even death had rejected him when the plague killed only his grandmother— but walks like he doesn’t notice. He smiles at them, jitters, and wipes his hand across his knees. Blood comes away in thin, translucent lines. He saves it on the kerchief he keeps tucked in his shirt, careful to dirty the cloth even more. The villagers scrunch their noses in disgust; who knew how old and rotten the kerchief was, or how long it had carried blood like the unwashed sword of a warrior?]

also by the way this excerpt is in square brackets because it is a third-person interjection in a vignette that is otherwise first-person [at this point...]

SPARE THOUGHTS:

this was inspired by a conversation i had with my grandfather, where he was telling me about how people used to sing songs to the skies, as a way of devotion to a specific god. he used the [loose translation of] the english word “yearning” to refer to the emotion the singers would invoke, and that sparked the concept of a disillusioned young boy who talks to the moon as a way to please the god he’s in love with. it’s a very softly disconcerting story and once again deals with the theme of “perception vs reality” which if you know me and my work, is the theme i’m forever obsessed with.

i really like how this turned out? the atmosphere is exactly how i wanted it to be, and there’s so much i have to add on as i edit and i’m really looking forward to that. this is also the only short story i’ve written where i knew which litmag i’d love for it to be published in? like i never write things with publishing in mind, but for some reason while writing this story it occurred to me that it would be a perfect fit for this specific magazine and i love that. anyway if you’ve made it through the post till here,,,, bless you and your braincells. and that’s all for today!!

I hate JK Rowling. I hate her guts. She’s a racist transphobic terfy piece of shit with a victim complex and these themes carry over to her work.

I love Harry Potter but I am critical of the works for their ‘metaphors’ and deeply problematic character creation

Werewolves as a metaphor for HIV/AIDS. A black character named Kingsley Shacklebolt. A Chinese character named Cho Chang. Labelling an abuser a hero. Just to name a few things.

But I, along with many others, grew up with these books and found comfort in them and I can guarantee none of us are going to be giving the bitch any money or support anything she does but I have copies of the books from befire I was born and I’m not gonna throw them away. I’m gonna read them with a critical eye and not let myself be influenced by any of the shit jkr spouts under the guise of story telling but I’m not going to deprive myself of something I find comfort in

I’m also a huge fan of minecraft. I love building cottages and exploring worlds and I’m so super excited for the new update.

But I also beat in mind that there is anti-Semitic influence behind the villagers and golem characters. Notch is a bitch boy a piece of trash and I would love to kick his teeth in.

But this game allowed me to focus on something when I was struggling mentally, connect with a community of people and eventually make some cool as fuck new friends- and gave us a place to interact with each other when we can’t irl.

My point is rereading a book you already have or playing a game you’ve already bought before you knew about the creators shitty beliefs doesn’t make you a horrible person. Be critical of what you’re consuming and be aware of how the creators prejudice can influence their work and maybe don’t support their future endeavours.

Pehli Si Muhabbat - epi 1

the episode started with Maya Ali and i declared it a masterpiece right there and then (what I MISSED THIS WOMAN ON MY SCREEN!!!!) jk jk. It wasn’t a perfect episode as in it did have a couple of situations that I had to make an effort not to question. like the whole last scene with the pathrao and Aslam volunteering to go in the house “peeche ke raaste se” and nobody stopping him like adkjhasdkajsda bruh that’s a jawan jahan “launda lapata” (please this term had me howling) jumping in the house with two women while the man of the house isn’t confirmed to be around. it was...a bit too much for me to swallow without questioning it but i swallowed it nonetheless. it all led to that beautiful first meeting between Aslam and Rakhshi so really who am I to complain?!

bizarre incidents aside what was perfect was the way all the characters were introduced and established alongside their relationships with each other. we have our hero and heroine who are, for all intents and purposes, young people still very much in control of the adults around them. both their emotions and freedom are dictated by someone else and they have little option but to oblige. if on one hand Rakhshi has to accept her father’s extremely sudden and unannounced second marriage as well as accept a total stranger as her new “mother” without getting the chance to properly show her anger and grief to the one person whose responsibility is to face both those emotions i.e. her father..Aslam has to basically overnight change his entire life because he is being ordered to shift back home despite living the majority of his key development years in another city. then he is told that he is engaged to be married to a cousin with whom he has had an almost sibling like relationship all his life. what i really liked was that despite Aslam having had no soft feelings for Bushra previously..the idea of her being his future life partner did make him develop a soft corner for her. he is a young man in his early twenties and for boys this age the idea of mangetar and hone wali biwi are fantasies that they all cherish.

but we are here to talk about MUHABBAT y’all!!!! did I absolutely lose my shit at Aslam overhearing Rakhshi’s crying on the terrace in the dead of the night and just that sound of her CRYING overpowered all his conscious efforts of developing the soft corner into something more substantial? ABSOLUTELY!!! now that..THAT is some *chef kiss* good shit right there. here you have Aslam talking to Bushra on the phone..you know as young “engaged” couples do (my god how do they do it? talking to someone for hours for no reason at all????? is this why I am still single? due to my inability to carry on a phone conversation for more than 10 minutes???) and just as soon as the topic of the conversation steers to the events of last night and Aslam is reminded of that anguished crying of a stranger...he loses all his interest in the girl who is supposed to the rightful receiver of all his attention. and the next thing you know he is out again on the terrace looking for any sign of the girl who he has only heard and hasn’t seen. and yet...the power she holds on him. ohhhhh they gonna break my heart i can feeel it!!!!

Rakhshi is a motherless girl who is living her life within the boundaries set by her...i wouldn’t be wrong to say a somewhat strict and dominating father? tbh I didn’t find him THAT suffocating (desi fathers tend to be this level of “protective” of their daughters) so I wouldn’t call him a villain. anyway..despite having a father like Faizullah..Rakhshi isn’t a dumb speechless girl who doesn’t know how to speak up for herself. twice she stood up to her father within the boundaries of respect and made her voice heard. which yessssss myQueen that’s what I wanted you to be! respectful but not subservient. Rakhshi constantly questions her father’s decisions and even it appears that she doesn’t have any other choice but to be obedient..her questions are dipped in that brutal honesty which i am quite sure can and do unsettle the next person.

the CROWN goes to Nargis though like oh my GOD what a Queen! fierce, bold, taking no one’s shit. i won’t lie at this point i am slightly more interested in how Nargis and Rakhshi will grow closer to each other than how Aslam and Rakhshi’s love story will develop. I love me some women loving women relationships which are full of respect and support. God knows Rakhshi needs someone like Nargis in her corner when the shit will hit the fan in the future.

Aslam Rakhshi first meet was beautiful magical fantastical and hit all the right notes for the romantic in me. the camerawork, the music, the direction, THE CHEMISTRY OH MY GOD YES YES YESSSSS THIS IS WHAT I WANTED FROM THAT DAMN MOVIE WHICH IT REFUSED TO GIVE ME LIKE THANK YOUUUU ANJUM SHEHZAD YOU HAVE ALL MY HEART!!!! the instant..connection Aslam and Rakhshi formed where she gathered her wits enough to make sure he was protected and he couldn’t take his eyes off Rakhshi. see this is the mark of some great direction because throughout the epi..we see Aslam with Bushra and we see his reactions to her. he is confused and amused by her presence and her actions..he wills himself to pay more attention to her because otherwise she fails to hold it for a long period of time. there this effort that was put by Aslam when he was interacting with Bushra and the episode had very subtly showed it to us.

Aslam with Rakhshi though? it’s effortless. she holds his attention and overpowers his senses without even being in front of him. once she IS infront of him..he is so fully mesmerized by her to register anything else. it is only when she is away from his sight, and let me tell you the dude tries hsi best to make sure the moment of her within his sight is as prolonged as it can be, that he is able to do anything else. it’s like..when Rakhshi is there Aslam’s full focus is completely on her. his undivided attention is on this one woman who will surely and quickly become the center of his universe.

If you’re not convinced, ask @wxstedhexrt how much I cried reading it lol. anyways an amazing series that I will continue to go back reading again and again because i LOVE wlw fics <3 

5. Oh no, that’s bad by @andyl394 | Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader You’re a college student, you’re mad angry, Bucky ruins your paper, that’s not good is it? I read through this 20-part series like there was NO TOMORROW and god DAMN. We love hilarious social media AUs but this one really killed me. I always love Bucky who is soft and shy in fics but the Bucky in this fic was a LITTLE SHIT and i had so much ANGST. Anyways, if you read this fic, you may want to slap the characters BUT I PROMISE THERES AN ADORABLE HAPPY ENDING!!!! 100% INCREDIBLE

6. Home by @evanstush | Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader It’s been 2 years since the last battle and it’s now Morgan’s 7th birthday, and well, Tony being Tony, he prepared a small party for her little girl, inviting everyone from the team, including you. So Kate decided to rip my heart out with this fic and have me on my knees sobbing so that’s cool. That’s it, that’s all I have to say. JK, this fic actually is like half and half FLUFF and ANGST but lord is it worth it. Kate, you know I adore you so much and your fics play a big part in why! God this girl deserves more love on these stories because holy shit I’m DEAD.

YALL WANT FUCKING FLUFF!?!?!?! 1000000000% FLUFFFFFFF AND CUTENESSSSSS (with like a little bit of a piece of shit lady who comes around but like its cool because a baby says fuck lol) THIS WAS A FIC WRITTEN LIKE NO OTHER. Ok don’t even try and talk to me about ‘loud noise’ until you’ve had to try and do work while hearing your sister’s kuchipudi practice (for non-desi people that’s indian dance with a lot of stomping and bells) to the stupid kuchipudi music (see: the background track of some top 40 dance song with a random guy going ta ta tikitikita over the top of it) (I like to refer to it affectionately as the soundtrack to my descent into madness) which is basically just a loud reminder that you will always be loved just a little bit less for being the only cousin who doesn’t do indian dance (jk I have the best grades so the rest of them can suck it) while simultaneously

being subjected to the neighbours from hell, who have three, young, expressive and very, very, loud children - one of which is a baby who cries so much and so frequently I genuinely think she contributes to about half of the water wastage in the world - and of said children, two of them play brass instruments (see: trumpet AND trombone? this is a fucking joke) - neighbours which you can hear very clearly thanks to the truly terrible sound insulation
