I'm not reblogging this for the drawing (no, the drawing is indeed marvelous; I wish I could draw like this!) but for the username! OMG, OMG, OMG! I almost fall from my bed when I first saw it on the feed! Deena is actually my first name! But I don't use it on social media; I use my last name because it sounds close to 'fairy' and I'm a fairy in spirit! If I used my first name as the username of my art blog, it would definitely be 'deenadraws' instead of @fariadraws!

Icons & Idols is the debut publication is curated and edited by Fake Geek Girls Like Us. The 20 page 8x10 colour publication is full with beautiful art works and written pieces that explore our relationships with our idols.

The launching event will be put on with Nerd Girl Burlesque at See Scape on April 22nd. Come by the event to pick up a copy of your zine and watch amazing performances!

I’m a Toronto based illustrator with a penchant for drawing a lot of cool and complex femme characters from pop culture. I’m a huge Disney nerd as you can attest from my Disney heroine collection and I love D&D!

Recently I’ve been getting into hand lettering and applying that to fun movie quotes. I particularly love Rom Coms and would to love to make a coffee table book of that genre one day.
