For once, she is at a loss for words. The initial panic has all but gone, replaced by a mix of confusion and uncertainty.

Five thousand years of messing around and, sure, Ryoko hadn’t always been careful. There had been scares before, but that’s all they were: scares. She hasn’t felt herself for the past few weeks, lethargic and more than a little ill. Without her mother around to run a proper diagnostic on her, there was only one thing she could think of and the pair of blue lines now staring her in the face? Not a scare.

It is terrifying.

And Ryoko? She is a n g r y.

She catches sight of herself in the bathroom mirror, cattish eyes glowering and lips drawn together in a thin line. No, no, she isn’t just angry. Ryoko hurls the test forcefully at the mirror, hard enough with her enhanced strength to shatter the shards of glass in a cacophony that would undoubtedly send her lover wandering in to check on her.

Knowing him he is probably already waiting by the door. She flings it open to look him in his stupid pale face, rearing back and punching him square in the jaw. His dark eyes widen in surprise, clearly not anticipating the sudden display of violence.

❝ I’m going to k i l l you! ❞ The she-devil doesn’t give him a chance to ask before she’s clutching at the fabric of his shirt and pushing him roughly against the wall.

——-♜ “Who did this to me?” Eyes shake and voice trembles, as if they were on a high up place with a strong wind. Or a bumpy car ride. Though, there’s a tightness to the words, a thick feeling in Killua’s throat as he looks upon his brother and wonders how he has the audacity to ask such a thing.

          “Y-You can’t honestly be asking that can you…?” Locks of white hair become messier as pale hands move to grip at the strands. Fingers moving against his head and holding it as he thinks and thinks on just how messed up this is. Just another one of Illumi’s games, something to make him question who he is and what he can be. There’s a deep breath, air finally reaching his lungs ( albeit it’s not enough due to the sheer panic he was feeling earlier ).

          “I’m… only like this because of you! You’re the one who did this all to me!” Granted… maybe Illumi was the way he was because of their parents, and they were the way they were because of his grand parents… and so on and so forth. Were they all destined to be monsters, no matter what? Had none of them never had a thought like this, never wanted to make a friend or be something other than what they told they were? “I just wanted to be normal, you know? Why couldn’t you just accept that!” There was no way he’d ever be normal though, Killua is slowly coming to terms with that. 

           “It’s all your fault. I hate you, I absolutely hate you.” Except he didn’t, he couldn’t. No matter how infuriated Killua felt, how hurt and lost and downright terrified he’d feel. Illumi was, for better or for worse, his brother. He’d sing him lullabies to get him to sleep when he was small, would help patch him up after training. Even with all his feelings that wouldn’t just go away. Despite how much Killua wished it would. It’d be so much easier if Killua didn’t have an emotional attachment. “I hate you.” He repeats, once more just for the dramatics. Though maybe it’s also just to hide the slight sob, distract Illumi from the tears that were filling his eyes because he knows he wasn’t trained to cry. 

          Killua only asked to be normal.

What is the biggest headcanon deviation from the canon material that you have incorporated into the way you write your muse? Why did you come up with it?

Mmm, I’d like to say I don’t deviate that much? Probably the biggest thing would be for my aus I greatly GREATLY decrease her obsession with Tenchi. I’ve discussed this matter before in other places, but as an adult I find the ship to be very boring in the context of 12-year-old me wanted Ryoko and Tenchi only 4 ever!!! and now I’m like: eh? The main complaint of course being that Tenchi is generally a very white-bread protagonist and the girls are by far more compelling. In regards to my traveler au it’s explained vaguely that Ryoko had a falling out with the Masaki clan ( which has happened before in various series ) but I still think I choose not to focus on that aspect of her personality.

Have you made any outright changes to the canon material in order to write your muse the way you wanted (entire scenes you chose to omit, chapters you say never existed, things you assume were never said, etc.)?

I don’t think I have unless people count that I adhere to the OVA/Ryo-Ohki continuity not Shin Tenchi Muyo, or Universe which includes TMiL and TMiL2/Tenchi Forever ( which does have my favorite animation style BY FAR across the series ). She has several different portrayals across the media, but I can’t really think of much that I’d want to omit.

For movie or TV muses, what other character played by your muse’s actor/actress has a lot in common with your muse?

Looking at her Japanese and English voice actors, I don’t immediately spot any. 

For book muses, what is your muse’s favorite scene? Why? Can you provide a short excerpt?

But basically Ryoko trades places with Tenchi in a rare act of selflessness. I really enjoy to manga even if it is not considered canon.

I miss @deathlyacupuncture, she was a great Illumi and I wish she was back!
