The word “husband” pops up in The Most Beautiful on average every 2 pages: TRUE - It pops up 148 times. The book is a little over 300 pages. Prince performed in  Barcelona on July 25 1990 for the Nude Tour: TRUE - Prince performed in Barcelona on July 25. Four days later, Prince was in La Coruna where it aired on Spanish TV (incredible concert!) This tour was exclusively for the European/Japanese market. It kicked off on June 2 1990 and ended on September 10 1990. Prince performed 51 dates in Europe across 11 countries. There were five shows for the Japanese leg of the tour. The second show of the Japanese tour was broadcast and became “Prince Live in Tokyo” (another fun concert!) This was the first time Prince ever performed in Ireland or Spain. According to Mayte’s book, this performance influenced her parents to videotape her performing the song in an attempt to give it to Prince. True or False: “Thieves in the Temple” was on the set list for the July 25 show in 1990: FALSE - This song was not on the set list that night. It took two attempts in two different countries to get Mayte’s videotape into Prince’s hands: TRUE - The initial story has minor changes to it. Overall, the basics of the story are the same (excluding Mayte’s new bump from her book). Mayte’s videotape did contain her dancing to “Thieves in the Temple.” It didn’t get into Prince’s hands until the second show where Prince actually performed “Thieves in the Temple” in full. That’s it. It’s impossible to be influenced by a song on a set list when the song isn’t on the set list. The influence was made prior to Prince coming to Barcelona. A month after meeting, Mayte for the first time, Prince was introduced to Carmen Electra: TRUE - Carmen was to be apart of the Uptown Dames featuring Robin Power. It was Robin who spotted her at a club in LA and asked her to audition. According to Carmen’s interview in the 1997 issue of FHM, Carmen sang “Do Re Mi” from the Sound of Music while Prince played the piano. Always an adventure with #daysofwild at Red Lion. Ferocious Guyocious/Funky Santa Claus 🎅 on the skins. 😂 Ivan “Basso Continuo” Bodley handling the low frequencies and a cast of characters that looks like a Cross between a Colors of Benetton advertisement and a funk version of The Commitments it were based in Greenwich Village. Dancing, singing and spectacle abounding. It’s one of the last remaining true New York experiences. Reminds me of how it was everywhere before over priced real estate and the Great Recession took its toll on local music and art scenes throughout what were once vibrant artists communities that have been hollowed out and fragmented.
