i don’t really have much to say about the colors here?? all of these fellas are vaugardian (i think) so i just kept their palettes Warm. i did give claude stains on her coat because i think she drops Chemicals on it all the time and doesn’t wash it throughly enough to get the stains out. other than that all of these are pretty straightforward!!

oh and meet another OC: lily/iliad (fae/faer, has two names)! fae's the God/Guardian of the Arts in Fabrication (so art, music, writing, dance, and drama). faer design is my fav so far if i'm being honest haha, really like how it came out :D

okay I've come to accept in the past hour that it's gonna be a while until I can beat the king. for various reasons. so tomorrow I'm just gonna grind hp and get Sif to like. level 60 or w/e. and also I wanna see if I can figure out more stuff about the island by poking around, because the villager with the sister just told me about the island literally just by doing that and talking to her every other loop. so y'know I figure that's the way to do that.

ISAT Sky:Cotl!AU Part 1: The Dock

AKA: How I think a possible sequel could be stroctured, using Sky: Cotl as a base for this AU)

SO! We know that Something happened after Siffrin almost destroyed the world. Something broke in a way, by the presence of Red. And also by the fact that the Daydreaming one can remember more clearly about their sister (they remember her appearance and that she had a bag, all things that are more visual than the abstrac fact that she liked to sing, etc… all this while she didn’t struggle to remember)

So the island is so forgotten, you can barely see it anymore (you CAN, briefly, see it by the end of the game)

… but that doesn’t mean is not there physically, right? Wouldn’t that mean you could theoretically still go there? It would probably kill someone from the amount of headace they would have probably. But something happened, and remembering some of the stuff isn’t as painful anymore.

The story could begin with the gang going to Bambouche, maybe to go see Bonnie’s village. The are rumors about people starting to see the island again, But it seems clouds and fog are in the way most of the time. Siffrin could finally start talking slowly to their family about what he could remember from his home.

This could lead them to try and physically go there to the Island by boat (Shiffrin used to have one, and could properly use it even at a young age, so they maybe they know the basics of navigation?) If you can see the island from Bamb0uche it means it can’t be more than a day on a boat away.

What they land on is something similar to the Isle of Dawn, and as they explore, Siffrin unintentionally activates one of the first murals of the game. (I’m using Sky's old beginning for this, not the one after the Aviary update).

“All are given breath by starlight…”  “The first of us lived in the joy that we would one day return to the stars”

The murals could be written in Siffrin language, and being that Siffrin DOES have Memory of Memories even after the loops ended, he CAN read without pain his language again.

As they venture further, they explore the only things left which are the boats and the remaining dock.

The Spirits

The spirits could be either actual people who are in an unconscious state from being part of the Wish or reflections of them (almost like the Sadness is the equivalent of becoming lightless in Sky) and their memories can help you remember how to say specific words in your language that will help you later unlock doors or simply slowly breaking the Wish.

Winged Lights as Wish/Star levels

As for all the stuff about winged lights, I would like for Siffrin to gain his first “star” here, but in any case, I don’t think they would be able to fight until the end. But each “star” or “winged light” could be used as a way to gain more Wish Craft or XP in a way.

In any case, the Family could reach the main entrance of the Kingdom (the Temple of Dawn), and more star-based riddles are solved to enter the temple. A vision of the future gives them a flash of the Wish and lowers their HP aggressively, but then, they see one constellation and Siffrin realize that he can finally recognize it. The first constellation he can recognize after years...

A short note about the colors

The first hints of the history of The Country could lead them to see specks of one of the colors.

Now, my main theory about colors is that whoever made the Wish for the country to disappear could have made it in a way phrased so that they also took its “Light” away, and being colors a variance of light refracted, that could have caused them from being taken away.

(also because I like how in Sky the following mural says “But then the sky went dark, and our kingdom shattered”)

What it would be REALLY cool to see in a sequel, is how shades of colors are slowly coming back the more you uncover about The Country (kind of like Gris in a way)

From darkness, one color at a time, they could light up the memory of the Country again!

Still thinking about ISAT so I made designs for them for a few years after the game's events. Slight spoilers for ISAT below? Not really tho. Captions: Picture one: Siffrin and Beau's bonding earrings. They shaped them to look like shooting stars and reminiscent of Isa's old earrings. Siffrin has a star-shaped scar under his eyepatch. I don't make the rules! I also gave Siffrin a cape. I imagine Isabeau gets super into fashion and Siffrin becomes his model and muse. Whatever he thinks will look good gets slapped onto Siffrin; their outfits are ALWAYS changing and they adore it. But they won't wear super heavy clothes. Picture two: Isabeau and Bonibelle! Isa is rocking an undercut and started growing out his beard a bit. He, like Mira, incorporates the change symbol into his clothes as he keeps his devotion to the Defenders. Boy is in his fashion designer era though, so many changes to the outfits happen. Bonnie's maxed out the cooking skills! They've gone back home to Petronille and are very active outdoors, always finding new interests. They've gotten into drawing and etymology, and those often come together! And in their pocket, they keep a gift from Siffrin: his silver coin. (It's definitely a joke that it's a symbol of Siffrin's eye and Bonnie gets to keep it.) Picture three: The ISAT girlies! They have the least changed about themselves but it's very symbolic. Odile has always been comfortable with her style, but she's started getting into writing novellas. After their journey, Odile's knee started going so she uses a cane and orthopedic shoes, but it doesn't slow her down much. If anything, it's only made her reach longer. Mirabelle started taking design courses with Isabeau and her Stylish classmate. She loves wearing flow-y dresses, and dressing like Euphrasie. She loves to change her hair and experiment with her hair texture and what she can make it into, but otherwise, Mira's stayed true to herself. And she's out of the dating pool, for sure, but that hasn't stopped her from picking up teaching classes at Dormont's house. (Also, her ears are pierced, but she's stopped wearing them.) Both girls send letters often back and forth for book club. And on the side, for Siffrin, they've been researching into the country North of Vaugarde. Anyway, honestly? I'm just having a lot of fun daydreaming about them and what they're up to. I REQUIRE a second ISAT about Siffrin's country. It'd be Neat (◐‿◑)

something i find charming about isat is the way all the npcs in dormont are named after their most obvious personality trait (daydreaming one, castle-loving one, running one etc.) and that this naming convention is also seemingly used in-universe between people as a teasing sort of nickname. like odile calls siffrin "late one" and siffrin calls loop "weird one" in his head after their first meeting. so you can assume that the names of the npcs are all just based on siffrin's first impressions of them, and i think it's cute that the dialogue box reflects it

I recently said In Stars and Time ruined the concept of fandomized found family for me (/positive) but the funny thing is you can tell that like, earlier iterations of the party kinda fell into this trope. Like iirc Siffrin straight up calls Bonnie "the little sibling of the group" in the prologue and id5 once made a post asking people to wishlist ISAT where she calls Odile a mom.

Meanwhile in the final game the only characters who ever put the party in any family roles like that are Bonnie who is a child currently struggling with being seperated from their sister and the daydreaming one who deals with something similar, and Siffrin is just weirded out by her doing that. Like even after you do the friend quests and Siffrin is more empathetic towards her sentiment that it's nice to have people you can consider family, their first immediate reaction to her calling Odile the mom of the group is still "ew" lmao

Howdy! As you know the lovely @pixxyofice made a timeloop support group au for ISAT featuring mine and other mutuals aus that we made. I wanted to post the writing I did based on the awesome fic that Pix wrote, which you can read here! This writing as well as the Au in general is set post game so full game spoilers are expected.

(The order of the loopers arriving is Odile -> Mirabelle -> Isabeau -> Siffrin) so for chronological order read Odile’s POV first, then Mira’s then, Isa’s POV. WRITING IS UNDER THE CUT:

{ You are currently walking back home to your family, carrying a bag of books in your left hand and a bag of fruits in your right. }

{ You are very excited!!}

{ Your whole family is going to read stories alongside you together!}

{ You whistle to yourself happily.}

{ You hadn’t had the chance to do a book club meeting in practically forever- Madame Odile insisted that you wait until your health fully recovered back to normal. }

{ It was a smart idea to listen to her, so you did your best to not over exert yourself.}

{ You knew that she was right but you still couldn’t help feeling anxious and restless during that time.}

{ You hadn’t fully adjusted to the idea of not needing to heal anyone or not being able to do something productive.}

{That initial week was kind of a nightmare in more ways than one!}

{ You cringe a little at the thought of it.}

You know what would be a fun thought... swapping out the ISAT party with NPCs. Like, surprise: the saviors of Vauguarde are actually Daydreaming One, Stylish One, Claude, Fishing One, and Tutorial Kid. Or whoever. Ah, who's Bonnie? Oh, you mean that NPC Cooking Kid?

THIS IS TRUE. i like daydreaming one but llike. shaking ppl by the shoulders. the point of her dialogue about the party is not for you to go "ah i see a guide as to what everyone is in traditional family dynamics" no no no. bad.

me going on a bit of a tangent about familial expectations in vaugarde (spoilers)

so that post i reblogged last night that was about being against assigning specific roles to found families and how i said in the tags that i appreciate that isat takes this stance in some of its dialogue got me thinking about this.

siffrin is very obviously weirded out by his family being assigned specific traditional roles by both the daydreaming one and bonnie, but i wanna say that it's a lot more understandable from bonnie's perspective. they actually know their group personally (compared to the daydreaming one just engaging in rpf) and, more importantly, they're a child, so it probably is easier for their brain to try and grasp the saviours' dynamics through assigning specific roles to everyone. however, this is all despite bonnie's own biological family being very non-traditional with their and nille's parents not being in the picture.

so that got me thinking, since vaugarde is evidently not as perfect of a utopia as it's initially presented once you look beneath the surface, maybe vaugarde still believes in a lot of traditional family structures too akin to real life. obviously they're nowhere near as strict as real life considering lgbt and polyamorous couples are normalized and celebrated there, but considering mirabelle definitely feels pressure to have a romantic relationship and start a family i feel like there's definitely some sort of connection between the two there. you could probably throw in something about how odile's mom rejected the idea of having a family and the id5 interview where they say vaugarde is "crazy about sex and making babies" too. there is this inescapable expectation that leaves people like mirabelle in the dust.

idk how well i worded this and i feel like i'm having a "connecting the dots but didn't actually connect shit" moment here but you get me yeah?
