saw your doc on ahab’s wife and… i cannot believe that is an actual book 😭😭 there was also this moby dick inspired book i read by a white woman which made some weird changes from the og as well but it was absolutely NOT that bad 😭😭 it’s called “ahab” by eb dawson and it’s a scifi md au that focuses on ahab and starbuck who are besties, and i checked it out bc wow a book about those two specifically?? but i was NOT expecting some changes until i actually read it, like queequeg was cut COMPLETELY, ishmael character is there but he is NOT like og ish, he’s some old chatty veteran instead of an observant greenhorn and he also is not the sole survivor, the sole survivor is the pip counterpart (who got named david pippin?). mary character was named ellen instead which i didn’t see the point in changing name?? ahab was also aged down immensely lmao (so was starbs but it affects less), he and starbs are only a few years apart?? also ahab lost his leg while saving starbuck, and the whales are like space machines that may or may not be sentient. there’s also a lot of stuff on land (on a planet) and the government and war between humans and the machine whales. ahab’s searching for md was not just revenge for taking his leg but also bc he believed the machines were sentient and were getting ready to go to war with the humans again? also starbuck had daddy issues (his dad is alive here but is a typical authoritarian overbearing rich parent who tries to influence his kid’s career) which killed me bc it was the first time i saw the idea outside of my own head and now it’s Somewhat a Thing?? lmao. honestly Most of it was Okay if you were to take it as its own book and not as an md retelling lol cause that’s when it gets funky but it does still have it’s issues. the ahab and starbuck in the book were so sweet tho like their scenes were so soft, i rly just read it for them (even tho at this point they are Not the ahab/starbs of the og lmao). i also appreciated their ahab, he was def a lot more than just “crazy vengeful captain”, tho very diff motivations from og ahab. there’s probably some other stuff i forgot it’s been a while but yeah. sorry for the unprompted dump but you’re an ahab/starbuck fan so i thought you’d wanna know 😭

1 Daniel Ricciardo’s colleagues and friends tease him after Harry is photographed wearing this t-shirt. When his manager passes along a message from Harry, he thinks it’s another joke. But it’s not. Canon/canon compliant.

2 Harry bakes when he’s had a bad day. He finds out that his roommate has been texting his friend Character B to let them know on those days that free baked goods are available. But he doesn’t mind because Character B does a better job of cheering him up than baking ever could.

3 Harry is visiting Paris for the first time and can’t speak the language. Character B is staying in the same hostel and takes pity on Harry, so they go sightseeing together. Harry falls for the way French sounds in Character B’s voice.

4 Harry is an actress and her first job is in a movie with Jennifer Aniston, who just happens to have been her gay awakening. Cue awkward flirting and age gap romance.

5 Harry has been casually hooking up with Character B for months and is very happy with the situationship. There’s just one problem: Character B’s pet hates Harry.

6 Harry is an amateur astrologer and has a crush on new neighbor Ryan Gosling. They flirt and start to get to know each other. Harry thinks things are going great until Ryan Gosling mentions being a Scorpio and how people always react badly (“I guess I better watch out for that tail”). Harry has always believed that Scorpios are not compatible with Aquarians and vowed never to date one. Harry really likes Ryan Gosling and doesn’t know what to do. AU or canon compliant. 

7 Harry is part of a knitting circle. Character B joins and starts suggesting changes to how the knitting circle operates. It drives Harry crazy that everyone is going along with the changes when things were perfectly fine before. But when Harry finally gives Character B a chance, they have more in common than Harry thought. 

8 Character B is an entertainment reporter who’s about to interview Harry Styles for the first time. Their roommate is a fan and helps with their research. Character B thinks they are prepared, but during the interview Harry dodges every question. They run into Harry later in a coffee shop and can’t help confronting Harry about being difficult during the interview. Harry is very apologetic and sends flowers. Then Character B keeps running into Harry. Canon compliant.

9 Harry and Character B both have partnerships with Lime bikes. They begin to compete over who can look more ridiculous in their paparazzi photos without anyone catching on. 

10 Harry is an introvert working in the Chicago Sky organization. When Angel Reese is drafted, Harry admires her assertiveness and wishes to be more like her. It takes Harry’s coworker and friend gently pointing it out for Harry to realize they want to be with Angel, not be more like her.

11 Girl Harry is inducted into Stevie Nicks' coven of musical witch women, which can include as many women singers/performers as you like

12 Harry and Character B are painting each other's nails when a discussion about hand/finger size and dexterity happens. Things turn sexual.

13 Sunshine Harry and nighttime Zayn

14 Harry dating everyone but Louis in 1D – so, zarry, nirry and lirry, or as zainrry

20 Questions for Fic Writers!

I'm very belated for this, but thanks for the tag @hbyrde36!

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

18! But a lot of those are in the Wildflowers series. (Maybe it should have been chaptered? I still don't know what the right answer was, lol.)

So, I basically have 3 things to read, if you count the two parts of the Jagged Little Pill series as one, and I always do. Wildflowers is for those that wanted more of Tuesday's, and not that many people wanted to read Tuesday's in the first place, haha. So it's a niche of a niche. But I hold it close to my heart, and it makes me happy that a few of you have been so on board with it, too. ❤️

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

487,289. Which is kind of crazy. I just looked, and I started writing You Oughta Know on July 30th, 2022. From then until today, that's 457 days. That's averaging over 1,000 words a day. That seems wild. (And I've got a lot of unpublished words still in the chamber, haha.)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Just Stranger Things right now, but I'm not opposed to branching out as the mood strikes. I think I'd love to take on David/Patrick of Schitt's Creek someday.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes! I definitely try to respond to them all. Sometimes I'm a little slow about it though, sorry!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I like a happy ending. But Time to Move On, I guess? It's just a part of a series, so it's not like the ending is permanently sad, but that one does end at a sad point in their lives.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of them are pretty happy, but I'm partial to the epilogue ending of Take the Money and Run. That will always have my heart. ❤️

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten a very little, so I feel pretty lucky.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, and I write what fits the larger story, I hope. I've written M/M and F/M, so far. I haven't done a full PWP, though some of the parts of Wildflowers were supposed to be that, but the dang plot kept getting in the way. Whoops.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Just little brief ones, so far. There's a couple in Take the Money and Run that I find fun, but if you don't get them, I don't think they detract from the story.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, and I'm not sure it'd work for most of my stuff, with all the mixed media.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, I'm not sure how good I'd be at that. I write by jumping all over the place. That'd probably be annoying for someone else to deal with, lol!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

All time? Man, that's hard. I'm obviously deep in a Steddie hole at the moment. But I'll go with my first. Pacey and Joey of Dawson's Creek. They brought me into fandom, into fic, so they get the gold star. (For more current ships, definitely Steddie and David & Patrick of Schitt's Creek.)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I don't really post anything I'm not basically finished with. But from my private stash, I like the idea of Here You Come Again, but I just have been writing other stuff. I'm going to take on my other Steddie (Untitled, But Not Really) WIP during NaNoWriMo. I've never done that before, so I thought might be fun, since I saw you can go rogue and write 50,000 words on something that isn't brand spanking new. So, even if that fic doesn't need 50,000 words to finish (and I'm not sure it does) it might give me the push to try to finish it up. 16. What are your writing strengths?

From the comments, I'm going to go with that I can make readers laugh from time to time, which makes me so happy. I also like to dig into the research.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Um, also the research, lol. Sometimes I'll be researching until I'm just wasting time. Some things really don't matter in the big picture. (But they do to me!!) And I need to learn to let them go.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

That's not something I've done, I don't think. But I have tried to respond to comments that were written in a different language using Google Translate.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Dawson's Creek. Many, many moons ago. At the turn of the millennium. (That's fun to say, ha!)

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Unpopular opinion time! I know Take the Money and Run is more popular. By, well, a lot. And I do love it. It gave me the bug to write long fic again. But I have big feelings for Tuesday's Gone With the Wind. It was such an undertaking. All the mixed media. The endless research. And I fell in love with those characters in the process.

It wasn't as popular as TtMaR, but that's okay. It makes me very happy that it reached even as many people as it did. I know that author's note was enough to scare anyone away, haha. Add in the CNTW and it's amazing anyone read it at all. Thanks to those of you that did! You've made me so happy. ❤️

I read Joshua Bassett's article about coming out and I honestly teared up a little. I have a couple friends who knows his family and his parents are very homophobic and open about it. I'm not sure if they've changed but I kinda doubt it. Before he came out a local posted something on reddit about how they stopped him going to theatre camp when he was a teenager because he hooked up with a couple boys there one year. Idk if it's real but it was literally a local so I wasn't sure why he had a reason to lie. I feel like he's had a lot of unlearning to do which is sad. Anyway, I feel like what he said in the article was good. He specifically said he's apart of the lgbt community without giving a label and people who are still arguing that he's straight need to shut up. I honestly wonder if that's what Harry should say if he's asked about his sexuality with my policeman.

Hi love. I’m too old to know who that is, so I had to look him up. 😆 But I’m happy for him. And wow his family sounds awful. As for the language he used, yeah. That’s how David Dawson came out, as well. And actually, Emma Corrin basically just said she’s queer. Not everyone wants to be so specific with the public. So yes I do think Harry could easily use language like that (well, “easily”. You know what I mean). And honestly, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised. It allows him to clear up the issues many people had with him playing this role, yet he won’t have to lie, it doesn’t throw Louis completely under the bus (although people may consider larries less crazy… but probably not 🙄), and it’s still vague enough that the only people he’d really piss off are homophobic assholes which… who really cares?

Today we remember the passing of Peter Green who Died: July 25, 2020 in Canvey Island, Essex, England

Peter Allen Greenbaum (29 October 1946 – 25 July 2020), known professionally as Peter Green, was an English blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. As the founder of Fleetwood Mac, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Green's songs, such as "Albatross", "Black Magic Woman", "Oh Well", "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)" and "Man of the World", appeared on singles charts, and several have been adapted by a variety of musicians.

Green was a major figure in the "second great epoch" of the British blues movement. Eric Clapton praised his guitar playing, and B.B. King commented, "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats." Green was interested in expressing emotion in his songs, rather than showing off how fast he could play. His trademark sound included string bending, vibrato, and economy of style.

In June 1996, Green was voted the third-best guitarist of all time in Mojo magazine. In 2015, Rolling Stone ranked him at number 58 in its list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". Green's tone on the instrumental "The Super-Natural" was rated as one of the 50 greatest of all time by Guitar Player in 2004.

Peter Allen Greenbaum was born in Bethnal Green, London, on 29 October 1946, into a Jewish family, the youngest of Joe and Ann Greenbaum's four children. His brother, Michael, taught him his first guitar chords and by the age of 11 Green was teaching himself. He began playing professionally by the age of 15, while working for a number of East London shipping companies. He first played bass guitar in a band called Bobby Dennis and the Dominoes, which performed pop chart covers and rock 'n' roll standards, including Shadows covers. He later stated that Hank Marvin was his guitar hero and he played the Shadows' song "Midnight" on the 1996 tribute album Twang. He went on to join a rhythm and blues outfit, the Muskrats, then a band called the Tridents in which he played bass. By Christmas 1965 Green was playing lead guitar in Peter Bardens' band "Peter B's Looners", where he met drummer Mick Fleetwood. It was with Peter B's Looners that he made his recording début with the single "If You Wanna Be Happy" with "Jodrell Blues" as a B-side. His recording of "If You Wanna Be Happy" was an instrumental cover of a song by Jimmy Soul. In 1966, Green and some other members of Peter B's Looners formed another act, Shotgun Express, a Motown-style soul band which also included Rod Stewart, but Green left the group after a few months.

In October 1965, before joining Bardens' group, Green had the opportunity to fill in for Eric Clapton in John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers for four gigs. Soon afterwards, when Clapton left the Bluesbreakers, Green became a full-time member of Mayall's band from July 1966. Green made his recording debut with the Bluesbreakers in 1966 on the album A Hard Road (1967), which featured two of his own compositions, "The Same Way" and "The Supernatural". The latter was one of Green's first instrumentals, which would soon become a trademark. So proficient was he that his musician friends bestowed upon him the nickname "The Green God". In 1967, Green decided to form his own blues band and left the Bluesbreakers.

Green's new band, with former Bluesbreaker Mick Fleetwood on drums and Jeremy Spencer on guitar, was initially called "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac featuring Jeremy Spencer". Bob Brunning was temporarily employed on bass guitar (Green's first choice, Bluesbreakers' bassist John McVie, was not yet ready to join the band). Within a month they played at the Windsor National Jazz and Blues Festival in August 1967, and were quickly signed to Mike Vernon's Blue Horizon label. Their repertoire consisted mainly of blues covers and originals, mostly written by Green, but some were written by slide guitarist Jeremy Spencer. The band's first single, Spencer's "I Believe My Time Ain't Long" with Green's "Rambling Pony" as a B-side, did not chart but their eponymous debut album made a significant impression, remaining in the British charts for 37 weeks. By September 1967, John McVie had replaced Brunning.

Although classic blues covers and blues-styled originals remained prominent in the band's repertoire through this period, Green rapidly blossomed as a songwriter and contributed many successful original compositions from 1968 onwards. The songs chosen for single release showed Green's style gradually moving away from the group's blues roots into new musical territory. Their second studio album Mr. Wonderful was released in 1968 and continued the formula of the first album. In the same year they scored a hit with Green's "Black Magic Woman" (later covered by Santana), followed by the guitar instrumental "Albatross" (1969), which reached number one in the British singles charts. More hits written by Green followed, including "Oh Well", "Man of the World" (both 1969) and the ominous "The Green Manalishi" (1970). The double album Blues Jam in Chicago (1969) was recorded at the Chess Records Ter-Mar Studio in Chicago. There, under the joint supervision of Vernon and Marshall Chess, they recorded with some of their American blues heroes including Otis Spann, Big Walter Horton, Willie Dixon, J. T. Brown and Buddy Guy.

While touring Europe in late March 1970, Green took LSD at a party at a commune in Munich, an incident cited by Fleetwood Mac manager Clifford Davis as the crucial point in his mental decline. Communard Rainer Langhans mentions in his autobiography that he and Uschi Obermaier met Green in Munich, where they invited him to their Highfisch-Kommune. Fleetwood Mac roadie Dinky Dawson remembers that Green went to the party with another roadie, Dennis Keane, and that when Keane returned to the band's hotel to explain that Green would not leave the commune, Keane, Dawson and Mick Fleetwood travelled there to fetch him. By contrast, Green stated that he had fond memories of jamming at the commune when speaking in 2009: "I had a good play there, it was great, someone recorded it, they gave me a tape. There were people playing along, a few of us just fooling around and it was... yeah it was great." He told Jeremy Spencer at the time "That's the most spiritual music I've ever recorded in my life." After a final performance on 20 May 1970, Green left Fleetwood Mac.

Green was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent time in psychiatric hospitals undergoing electroconvulsive therapy during the mid-1970s. Many sources attest to his lethargic, trancelike state during this period. In 1977, Green was arrested for threatening his accountant David Simmons with a shotgun. The exact circumstances are the subject of much speculation, the most famous being that Green wanted Simmons to stop sending money to him. In the 2011 BBC documentary Peter Green: Man of the World, Green stated that at the time he had just returned from Canada needing money and that, during a telephone conversation with his accounts manager, he alluded to the fact that he had brought back a gun from his travels. His accounts manager promptly called the police, who surrounded Green's house.

In 1979, Green began to re-emerge professionally. With the help of his brother Michael, he was signed to Peter Vernon-Kell's PVK label, and produced a string of solo albums starting with 1979's In the Skies. He also made an uncredited appearance on Fleetwood Mac's double album Tusk, on the song "Brown Eyes", released the same year.

In 1981, Green contributed to "Rattlesnake Shake" and "Super Brains" on Mick Fleetwood's solo album The Visitor. He recorded various sessions with a number of other musicians notably the Katmandu album A Case for the Blues with Ray Dorset of Mungo Jerry, Vincent Crane from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Len Surtees of The Nashville Teens. Despite attempts by Gibson Guitar Corporation to start talks about producing a "Peter Green signature Les Paul" guitar, Green's instrument of choice at this time was a Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion guitar. In 1986, Peter and his brother Micky contributed to the album A Touch of Sunburn by Lawrie 'The Raven' Gaines (under the group name 'The Enemy Within'). This album has been reissued many times under such titles as Post Modern Blues and Peter Green and Mick Green – Two Greens Make a Blues, often crediting Pirates guitarist Mick Green.

In 1988 Green was quoted as saying: "I'm at present recuperating from treatment for taking drugs. It was drugs that influenced me a lot. I took more than I intended to. I took LSD eight or nine times. The effect of that stuff lasts so long ... I wanted to give away all my money ... I went kind of holy – no, not holy, religious. I thought I could do it, I thought I was all right on drugs. My failing!"

Enduring periods of mental illness and destitution throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Green moved in with his older brother Len and Len's wife Gloria, and his mother in their house in Great Yarmouth, where a process of recovery began. He lived for a period on Canvey Island, Essex.

Green married Jane Samuels in January 1978; the couple divorced in 1979. They had a daughter, Rosebud(born 1978).

Green died on July 25, 2020 at the age of 73.

dude i love frenemies. i know trisha paytas is wild and has done tons of offensive shit, but finally she's having some good influence, is around people who don't exploit her losing her shit and try to provoke her on purpose for content. ethan is legit like an older brother to trisha (unlike shane dawson) and we can see how much she's changed. in the podcast jeff even tried bringing up trisha's suicide attempt and she kept her cool. TRISHA kept her cool. just shows how far she's come.

Yo, SAME. Honestly I will not defend Trisha because I’m sure she’s done things that people are rightfully offended by, I honestly don’t know much about her or Ethan beyond Frenemies, but something about the format and their relationship just makes the podcast work so well. It actually is really impressive in a lot of ways as well, like I know Trish has been problematic in the past but hearing her explain her own experiences with her mental illness and the way she describes things actually makes it so much easier to understand her and understand her prior “problematic” behaviors, and I can’t remember when she said it but when she basically said “yeah, people are understanding of mental illness as long as it’s the right kind” really hit the nail on the head. 

As I said, I didn’t follow her or Ethan before watching Frenemies but even watching her evolution over the course of the series so far has been impressive and really shocking. You can tell that she’s putting in a lot of work with therapy or something, but also just having a friend who actually has her back and validates her instead of using her extreme behavior for his own content has clearly triggered a massive change in her. There are some aspects of her relationship with Moses that seem like they were a problem too, but the way that he’s super supportive of her and nice and just says that she’s really good at shit seems like the kind of encouragement she needs. 

It’s interesting because actually being able to see her be triggered from start to finish in the instances where she and Ethan have gotten into fights and she left, and then seeing her come back and explain herself and demonstrate that she’s obviously clearly embarrassed by the way she reacts sometimes (and explain that she dissociates in stressful situations and stuff, which you can actually see and makes total sense) really puts a lot of her prior behaviors or the way that people like Shane or David Dobrik have portrayed her in a very different light, and it’s extremely uncomfortable to realize that a lot of her previous “friends” and boyfriends have obviously exploited a legitimate issue that she has for entertainment. She’s done so herself as well, but I think there may have been a certain gaslighty element to it, i.e. everyone constantly tells her she’s crazy so she thinks she’s crazy. 

That’s one of my favorite parts of the friendship she’s developed with Ethan, because he seems to get her but more importantly he validates the shit out of her and her perception of things. Like when that shit went down with Hair By Jay he was very clearly like “no, this man is acting like a fool, he’s proving everything you said was right and true, and you don’t deserve to be treated like this” and I thought that was huge. I noticed the same thing when they were interviewing Jeff, it really warmed my heart that he was basically like “you’re lying on Trisha’s name and you need to apologize,” because I don’t think she gets that kind of validation or reinforcement very often. And again, I’m sure she’s in therapy that is helping, but I was INSANELY impressed that Jeff was so clearly trying to trigger her by essentially saying “well you attempted suicide so that’s why I kept saying you aren’t a credible person” and she didn’t take the bait or go off at all. Like, when you compare that to the fact that Ethan saying that they couldn’t talk about Hila on air anymore was enough to trigger her before, clearly she’s made HUGE strides in a very short amount of time so she deserves a lot of props for putting in work to improve her own mental health and Ethan/Moses/Hila and the rest of the Frenemies crew deserve props for treating her like a real friend and actually saying no you’re not crazy, you’re not lying, and you deserve to be treated with respect like a normal human. Also, she’s genuinely just a hilarious person which I did not realize until Frenemies.

I’m part of team Jolivia never broke up. I think H and O are only business partners trying to keep fans interest in the movie because his fan base support is critical for the movie worldwide internet extra promo and his relationship are always an easy way to get the fandom invested. imo Olivia was doing the Holivia thing alone through SM she was getting headlines only with clicks and hints and att Harry involvement was not necessary but after TMZ exposed Olivia’s living with Jason than Harry has to participated again to control the narrative until the movie is out. They’re pulling the longevity card to make their “relationship” more respectable and movie promo.

They got backlash and O would be the loser out of this situation, she needs to save face from the imminent media backlash and the GP jokes when HO break up hit the media and Harry doesn’t want to look like a fuck boy or unprofessional. Why they decided to play this whole on set romance and cheating the way they did? I had no idea what happened bts and why they though HO was a good idea while she was in a serious relationship with kids, I know she’s trying to get more fame, Harry’s changing his image and their teams are PR experts; they got media attention and riley up fans maybe since their pov this is a successful strategy. TBH they should slow down a bit specially Olivia’s team they’re too aggressive and she’s looking desperate.

They turned Holivia in a parody and fans are sick of her…not a good look also maybe take a few minutes to understand the fandom you’re dealing because no matter If you think ho is real or not the general perception is that HO is using their “relationship” for PR.  This kind of deal/romances to promote projects is normalizing in the industry is a routine, Harry and Olivia are not the first or the last celebs to do something like that for promo, I’m personally analyze this situation in a different way to me it’s shown the downside of celebrity lifestyle, how celebs goes so far to mantain a perception of an images is crazy, I would not change any aspect of my life in exchanges of money, fame and privileges If that means I had to fake my life, my relationships, a cheat, a break up and uses my friends and family members to make the situation looks realistic. They play all this lies in the name of showbiz but this lies become their reality it's a toxic and sad life,  as a fan I think Harry is too deep in that dark side of Hollywood or play too hard the fame game.

I agree. I wonder if Harry’s morals are all skewed now that he’s been propelled into the depths of Hollywood. I hope not but idk it’s disappointing.

Also curious what PR strategy is going to go into play soon with Harry. David Dawson just came out as part of the LGTBQ+ community. Seems like everyone in the movie is part of it openly, aside from Harry. Not saying he has to come out but I think we should keep an eye out on what happens with movie promo and his PR team since he’s gotten shit on so much for MP

Seamless Part 1

Summary: After being Shane Dawson’s assistant for a year, things couldn't have been going better. However, Shane had other plans. He has decided that your next move is to jump headfirst into your true passion and with some unexpected partners.

It’s only been a short year after I moved to LA to work as Shane Dawson’s assistant and it has been the best decision I have ever made. After all of those grueling years in college, being an assistant to just any YouTuber would’ve been a hard pass, but this is Shane we’re talking about. I haven’t even been here that long, but he has already taught me so much about the business and has introduced me to the influential people that could potentially help me when I decide to pursue writing as a full-time career. 

By far meeting, Jeffree Star has been the craziest experience of my life, although he has been one of the nicest people I’ve met. However, after the last Jeffree Star series, Shane had said he wanted to do a few more lowkey videos. Like the ones he used to do with just Andrew, Drew and Garret. Something that didn't rely as much on just him and Andrew and this makes a lot of sense because the wedding planning had kept him and Ryland quite busy, even Morgan and I as well.

Shane has never stopped helping people though, no matter how busy he is. That is why he let me have the day off today because he had some people coming over for an interview/video/therapy session and Shane wanted to be able to help them with no interruptions. He was mainly worried about how loud Garret usually is, but he asked us all to stay out of the house for most of the afternoon.

So Ryland, Morgan, Garret and I decided that it would be a productive use of our day to go Christmas shopping. Especially because Ryland and Morgan’s parents are coming to California soon and then we are all leaving for Colorado. Despite it being the middle of December, the LA sun is shining bright and nothing more than a hoodie is needed to battle the not so cold weather. 

I was so honored that they invited me though. Not only has Shane become such an important part of my life, Ryland and Shane have also welcomed me into their family. My family doesn't celebrate Christmas and they live in another state, so they insisted I join them to celebrate it all together. After all, Christmas isn't the same in LA. 

After a long drive in the crazy LA traffic, we hit a few stores in Rodeo Drive and got most of what we were going to gift each other. However, we still hadn't gone to the most important one, Target. 

Just when we were coming into the store we saw none other than David Dobrik accompanied by his assistant, Natalie. I honestly thought that was who Shane was meeting with today so I was surprised to see them there, to say the very least.  We have met a few times before at influencer events, which Shane doesn't go to therefore Ryland and Morgan drag me along, so we just all talked a little and they quickly left because they had to film a bit with the squad. 

After saying goodbye to them, I immediately ask Ryland who was coming to the house today. David was my best guess and that had just been proven wrong.

“Ryland,” I begin to accept that my curiosity has finally gotten the best of me, “do you know who is coming to the house today to film the video?”

“Of course I do, hunty!,” he says smirking and with the enthusiasm and charisma he is known for, “Shane told me last week. But you, especially you, can’t know who it is just yet. It is all part of the master plan.”

“Well if it’s John Green, I think it is in everyone’s best interest that I am informed of what is going on,” I say trying to act unbothered and nonchalant, but Ryland can obviously tell that I am not happy that he isn't telling me anything. 

“As long as there are snacks, there shouldn't be any problem,” Morgan says clearly over with this whole thing. She for sure knows something I don’t. 

“SNACKS! You got that right, Morgan! Snacks and a good movie, that should be the plan for tonight,” says Garret excitedly and begins to laugh.

“Wait, why especially me? Why can't I specifically know about who’s at the house today?” I ask Ryland honestly confused and deadass scared for my job. What if Shane hired someone else and wanted to let me go? Before Christmas? This is the best job I have ever had, I don't want to lose it.

“Don’t worry it’s not what you think,” Ryland says walking away because he just saw some cute wine glasses. Ryland is clearly done avoiding my questions so we just keep shopping until we find what we need.

We finally make it back to the car after this long day and we are on our way home. Hopefully, we can just rest for the remainder of the evening because I am just exhausted. Ryland had picked up somethings and was planning to make a quick, homey meal so we could all have a chill night. Well, Ryland hardly ever cooks so, in reality, I’m the one making the food and Garret is gonna eat most of it before its done. We might need Postmates after all. 

It's about 4 o'clock, but the sun is already setting, which is what I hate most about the winter. We are all in the car heading back to the house and the sun shining bright on our faces as Welcome to the Black Parade plays in the background. Emo? Maybe, but it never goes out of style. 

As I lose myself in the lyrics, and Garret keeps talking about an upcoming Marvel movie, we finally arrive at the house. I am dying to take a warm bath and get out of these clothes because we have been running around all day and it might not be that warm, but I definitely look a little rough right now. As I look at my Lover crop top in the reflection when I get out of the car, I remember that Shane keeps telling me that I wear too much merch, and I am starting to believe he might be right after all. 

We get all the bags out of the G-wagon and when we walk into the patio entrance of the house, Morgan trips and falls. The decorations fly in the air as we all die of laughter. Shane and Andrew rush out of the door to check if Morgan is ok. She is, though we are all mad it wasn’t caught on camera. When we are finally able to stop laughing, I look to the door and I see the last people on earth I have ever expected to meet at Shane’s house. Suddenly it all makes sense.
