BALITANG NASYONAL: Suspect in Tagum City faces Multiple Charges following Public Shaming on Social Media, who brazenly attacked between Pastors and Families
Tumblr media
TAGUM, DAVAO DEL NORTE -- A male suspect identified as Don Manungas has been accused of a series of violent acts against a senior citizen and individuals in Sison Subdivision, Brgy. Magugpo South, Tagum City, Davao Del Norte. The suspect, allegedly involved in cases ranging from physical injuries to trespassing and grave coercion, has sparked outrage among residents in the area.
The severity of the accusations against Mr. Manungas has led to a concerted effort by concerned citizens to bring attention to his actions. One such individual (Aurelio Gracias), a local netizen and victim, took matters into his own hands by streaming a LIVE video on Facebook (owned by Meta Platforms Inc.), showcasing the alleged perpetrator's acts.
In a deleted Facebook LIVE video, per obtained by Gracias, which quickly gained traction online, Gracias detailed the disturbing incidents involving Mr. Manungas, citing instances of physical assault and even potential child abuse related to property disputes. The footage, shared widely across social media platforms all across the local media of Tagum, served as a call to action for local authorities to address the escalating situation.
Among the victims mentioned in the said social media platform on LIVE video are members of the Parreño family, including Pstr. Vic Aurelio and his father, Pstr. Carlos Parreño. Additionally, a senior citizen grandmother named Ms. Florencia Parreño was reportedly targeted by Mr. Manungas, allegedly subjected to aggressive physical attacks involving punches and the use of a steel bar as a weapon.
The gravity of the allegations prompted swift responses from local law enforcement and community leaders. Authorities have since launched investigations into the reported incidents, with Mr. Manungas facing multiple charges in connection to his alleged actions.
The suspect's exposure on social media has triggered debates about the role of online platforms in ensuring individuals are held responsible for their conduct. While some admire Gracias for drawing attention to the matter, others worry about the morality of publicly condemning individuals before they have faced legal charges or a local trial.
Despite the controversy surrounding the deleted LIVE-streamed video on Facebook, many residents of Tagum City remain steadfast in their demand for justice. Community members have called for stronger measures to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly senior citizens who may be at risk of similar attacks in the future.
As the investigation into Don Manungas continues, authorities are calling upon anyone who possesses information related to the case to step up and assist in the pursuit of justice. This incident serves as a solemn reminder of the utmost importance of remaining alert and fostering a strong sense of community solidarity in order to effectively tackle issues of domestic violence and abuse within their local Tagumerunon neighborhoods.

"Move Mabini; A Story of Progress"
The municipality of Mabini was created on May 28, 1953 by the virtue of Executive Order No. 596 of President Elpidio Quirino. Mabini is formerly known as Cuambog that is named after a tree species of the family Dilleniaceae then renamed as Doña Alicia after former President's wife Alicia Syquia was killed. It was later renamed in honor of the revolutionary leader Apolinario Mabini in 1954. Mabini is a coastal municipality in the province of Davao de Oro. Mabini is subdivided into 11 barangays which are the Cadunan, Pindasan, Cuambog, Tagnanan, Anitapan, Cabuyuan, Del Pilar, Libodon, Golden Valley, Pangibiran and San Antonio.
Mabini is a 2nd-class municipality in the province of Davao de Oro. In the last years, by the lead of the former mayor Reynaldo Dayanghirang we have seen the continuous progress and development of Mabini. From the infrastructure projects like the four infrastructure project for the two Sitioa Manasa and Mascareg consisting of a fully furnished Brgy. Health Center, Installation of Riprap, Steel Bridge and Sitil Electricification. An additional two infrastructure project for Brgy. Anitapan the solar street lights and multi-purpose building and road projects. However, last May 9, 2022 Mayor Dayanghiranf lost the position to Mayor Emerson Luego. Mayor Emerson Luego won the People's heart by his campaign and tagline "Move Mabini". Mayor Emerson or most known as Mayor "MM" started the fulfill his campaigns and made his move to develop and make a much better municipality.
Since Mayor Emerson Luego was elected as mayor of the Municipality of Mabini, there have been improvements in the municipality. Mayor Emerson has implemented numerous projects to improve the quality of life of the people living in Mabini. Mayor Emerson had built few establishments to improve the municipality's economy like building a tourist spot, the "Mabini Mountain Ridge" or the "Bikers Camp" the Food Hub and Snack Hub that made people from other municipalities go to Mabini. There also have been a series of graveling work and road repairs, road concreting and revetment/flood control project to the remote areas and barangays who needs it making it easier for the people living there. Many programs were made to preserve the Municipality's environment. At September 21, 2022 the Local Government of Mabini led by Mayor Emerson and DENR Davao de Oro spearheaded the clean up drive at densely populated Brgy. Cuambog and joined the International Coastal Clean up in Mabini Protected Landscape and Seascape. During " Bisita Kadagatan" on July 23, 2022, Mayor Emerson vowed to actively support programs, projects and policies that would lead to the betterment of the protected areas in Mabini. The municipality also participated in some tree planting activities. In terms of agriculture, the Municipal Agriculture Office conducted basic practices and services which Tilapia/ Livestock Seminar, Vegetable Distribution, and BCIC Farmer Insurance. There has been a great progress on people's well-being and welfare as Mayor Emerson creates programs that would be a great help for citizens like "Oplan Ligtas sa Pamayanan" a program by Bureau of Fire Protection, Pre-marriage Orientation, Counseling Seminar, Medical Mission Activities, Housing Programs and many more.
We really can see the increasing progress of Mabini from the newly built municipal office and plaza to the improved infrastructures, better access to education, better access to health services, and clean water. Due to the programs, campaigns, projects, and efforts of the people involved it successfully improved the people's lives and have increased the development and progress of the municipality.

THIS JUST IN: Dabaweña Vlogger and Financial Social Media Analyst 'Tomboy TV' receives settlement of 6-digit figure payouts after 10 months of Monetization Delays [#OneNETnewsEXCLUSIVE]
Tumblr media
DAVAO CITY, DAVAO DEL SUR -- American social media company 'Meta Platforms Inc.' [MPi] (a tech giant of Facebook) and Philippine National Bank (PNB) in Davao City officially settled and recently paid out the Dabaweña vlogger & financial social media analyst 'Benje Llanos' (knowningly as 'Tomboy TV'), following her mass frustrations of Creators Supports (facing and forcing to resolve issues), payout delays and on-hold statuses for 10 months straight since late last year in July 2023.
Llanos' 6-digit figures amounting in Philippine Peso, converting from American U.S. dollars in the overall worth of U$D6,803.81 (equivalent to nearly PHP400,000; per the combined amount to be settled of U$D5,134.22 [or PHP298,349.53], and U$D1,669.59 [or PHP97,019.88]), thanks to Facebook's monetization tools on Stars, Fan Subscriptions, Branded Content, Ads on Reels, In-Stream Ads and Performance Bonuses after a long process and settling payments from MPi, which is now paid out early last weekend on Thursday (May 23rd, 2024 -- Davao local time).
As you might recall in our previous exclusive investigation of OneNETnews around a month ago last April 2024, the financial department on Facebook and MPi allegedly being replaced into global Artificial Intelligence (AI), instead of real social media employees. Regional spokespersons of Facebook Philippines and the social media company's flagship home country in Menlo Park, California, United States of America (U.S.A.), have taken all action to settle the entire amount. Facebook apologizes for the inconvenience for not compensating their social media hard work through Dabaweña vlogger & financial social media analyst of Davao City.
Because of in-demand support on social media, Llanos uploads original content and latest happenings on Facebook LIVE video and Reels video combined by simply filming social media monetization tutorials and the skills of video editing. Efforts and hard work have paid off for so long because of this 6-digit figures in Philippine Peso to be paid out from MPi to the local banking institution of PNB.
Influencers and vloggers combined, despite both issues on her social media account of 'Tomboy TV' having already been settled by paying out from MPi, it is still decided whether or not Ms. Llanos could take a social media break for late summer vacation, per the example by travelling to Cagayan de Oro City, or continue working as usual in real life until early retirement comes.
With that, a big congratulations to Ms. Benje Llanos of 'Tomboy TV' on a job well done using a social media monetization. Daghang salamat po!
