Eiden glances up to Yuri again and gives him a smile this time.

" I have, I have, alright, thank you - no more assigning Yuri five or six arms. Or making sending excited girlies after you...."

Picking up the cue Eiden laughs. Guess it's very Yuri-like, this sort of reaction.

" I'll be sure to make Dar Aurelius' son on next possible opportunity then. "

well, yuri doesn't really know klaus, anyway; any of eiden's hesitance is chalked up to guilt. overblown guilt. a case of messy marriage proposals is pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things.

"good. long as you learned your lesson," his nod affirmative and sharp, exaggeratedly rebuking, "but if you wanna throw someone under the bus again, use dar's name next time. at least i'll get a laugh out of it."

receiving another tentative glance, yuri's shoulders relax-- his smile reassuring (it's starting to feel a lot like he's doing all the emotional labor here).

"that so? can't imagine you doing more than you already have," the sweets given a jostle for emphasis, "honestly, i'm just ready to move on from this headache. you can 'make it up to me' by moving on, too." in plain terms: apology accepted.

Eiden's looking everything unfold from his seat at defendant's table. He's nervous, to say the least. His future here is hanging on the line here, his and potentially his business too...

First speaks the prosecutor - a handsome guy that makes a pretty good display of himself. Strangely enough he feels almost a little irritated looking and hearing him speak. He wonders if it's just because he stands in the opposing camp but even then, he's just doing his job isn't he...? Even if he's definitely picking his words a little dramatically...

Focused to the other camp Eiden only barely hears Yuri's turn so when the hall goes quiet he doesn't realize at first. It's when he feels the eyes on him that he snaps back to the present, bouncing up to his feet.

" Defendant please walk over to witness stand. "

" AH yeah! I'm going! I'm... uh! Right! "

He feels the eyes still at him as he walks over to the stand, plopping down to his seat as he slowly begins recounting that evening. The procedure begins with the judge asking him to introduce himself.

" Uhh, I'm Eiden Itadori, 23 years old, single -- oh you don't need that information, I guess haha" , Eiden awkwardly laughs, " um, so uh. I own a business called SP*T, that's .... the O's an asterisk. It's an adult toy store."

That's ... probably everything that's needed - the judge turns to asking about the what happened as well. There is just one problem... There really isn't much to tell in the first place.

" I mean... not much to be honest? I was at work late, getting preparations done for the next day and I was just leaving home when my foot hit something.. "

" I looked down at him like 'dude what are you okay' and squatted down to check him and ... well, there was no pulse so I called the police? I mean that's where you call when you find a dead body right? "

He dots dots.

" So is there anything else I should say...? "

November 20, 9:35AM Archimedes Ward Court Courtroom No. 4

「⚖️」 "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, good morning. My name is Aurelius Vane-Tempest, and it is my pleasure to represent the city of Spirale as a prosecutor on this tragic case."

As the din in the gallery died down, the bespectacled blond lawyer read off his opening remarks to both judge and jury.

"On November 15th, 2024, the defendant in this matter, a Mr. Eiden Itadori, was found on the steps of SP*T besides the dead body of Mr. Ron Mann, well-known family man and beloved philanthropist to the community. Mr. Mann was determined to have died from blunt force trauma to the cranial region from a weaponized toy sold on Mr. Itadori's premises."

His voice was smooth and even, carrying no inflection besides the ones needed for dramatic effect. There was a storybook quality to the way he detailed the crime, the collection of the body, and the charges pressed against Eiden afterwards.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a case about a man who could not control his strength, who lost his cool at a crucial moment to commit involuntary manslaughter on the unlucky victim. Despite this, justice must be upheld."

"At the conclusion of the case, and after you have heard all the evidence, we are confident that you will return a verdict of guilty."

Thus finished, the angel prosecutor set down his papers and politely indicated to the judge that the defense could go next.

Today, the case of Eiden Itadori vs. The City of Spirale was formally in session.

" ....mmm. Suppose so."

It wasn't easy for him to laugh at Aurelius when the same problem hit Klaus too. He's not bringing that up now though, it's really not the timing.

" Haaah, its fine you dont have to feel bad for me. I didn't really realize it was her until later. Bad call or not, I still owe you an apology. It didn't seem fair to hide it either. Either way, wont happen again", Eiden says with a sigh letting his shoulders drop again.

" ....yeah, I uh, heard. I'll talk to him too, that was the plan from the start. "

He then pauses, glancing up to Yuri.

" I'll make this up sometime ok? "

"so there is trouble in paradise," he scoffs, flagrantly waving his bun in the air, "must be karma biting him in his almighty ass. glad to hear he isn't immune to it."

aurelius could have a million annoyances dumped on him for all yuri cares, but is it really worth putting eiden in the angel's crosshairs again? probably not.

his friend's feeling enough heat as it is, from the looks of it; with all this moping, you'd think he's the one facing consequences. it's, uh... kinda hard to watch.

the last of his snack swallowed (rest to follow later), yuri wipes the sugar from his hand before planting it at his jutted hip. "how am i supposed to stay pissed when you look so damn miserable? can't even get any catharsis," a sigh's heaved; not quite forgiving, but yielding, "not that i need it. almost forgot about the whole thing before you showed up, so... bad call. heck, dar had it worse than i did."

" Look I know, believe me... I just forgot. There was so much going on... He wasn't the only one I swapped bodies with. That's why I'm here now. "

Eiden scratches the back of his head.

" I talked to Mary Sue before anyone, so she knows. I don't think there's any reason to tell him then. He's got enough on his plate as it is now with Klaus and all..."

Eiden sighs eyes wandering a little before they set back to somewhere around his shoes.

" ....I mean, it's not like it caused him any trouble anyway! "

" But to be fair he also drank my body to nearing alcohol poisoning!! I'm not sure this rumor even touched him... "

eiden's godawful defense is accomplishing, uh... something. i.e., forcing yuri's anger on the backburner just so he can put his energy into making sense of any of it.

still plenty annoyed, however. don't get your hopes up, pal.

"let me get this straight-- you used me as your strawman? gave up on cleaning your own mess so you figured i'd do all the dirty work?" he grumbles; nose pinched, eyes squeezed shut. "could've saved us all a giant headache if you'd told me sooner."

ugh, not to mention being aury's son. no way in hell (or heaven, in this case).

"seriously, eiden. five children? five arms...? be glad i'm not giving you a five minute head-start," he's only complaining through another mouthful of food at this point, "does aury know about this, or did you screw that up, too?"
