shady sands STARTS TO DESTABILIZE in 2277. that does not mean the entire ncr. we aren't given information on why that happens to shady sands, and i hope we are later. some years LATER, AFTER FNV (since there's an arrow on the flowchart...indicating after...and fnv is still canon), shady sands was nuked. maximus was a child when this happened, probably around 7? and he's clearly around 20 in the show. fnv was 15 years before the show. bombs dropping less than 15 years ago makes sense and is not contradicted in the show... maximus's apparent age is the given evidence even if we don't get an Exact Year it happens (which we should have, but it's also clear it wasn't 2277).
