i had absolutely no idea that people were theorizing that the harga in midsommar had something to do with the deaths of dani's family, how cartoonishly preposterous

#not all things necessarily need to link together! it can just be a demonstration of IMMENSE family trauma #which is obviously a hot spot for the cult to utilize for manipulation #the theories are always such stretches that the (very rural) cult somehow knew about them across the world and infiltrated their lives #dani wasn't even meant to go to sweden and pele was peripheral to her via christian #i think those theories ultimately detract from the real world horror of the cult and what midsommar was made to represent #bc theyre so cartoonish and unlikely
