This property was rented out for 7 years to tenants who were hoarders. The walls were ringing wet, 4 skins of paper on the walls and foil reflective paper. The fire place had gypsum plaster on where the fire place had been. There was no extractor in the kitchen or bathroom but worse than that the cellar had standing water and an open sump & pump. The owners thought the walls had rising and lateral Dampness due to the high external ground levels outside on the chimney breast wall. Once we saw the open water and started to strip the paper a remedial system was chosen that included raising the surface temperature of the walls. We sealed the gap in the flooring and added a dpc where applicable.
