Tarantula dump :D I turned on the space heater in the office, so almost everybody came out to enjoy the warmth and I was able to take a few pictures.

In order, we have:

1) Brachypelma albiceps

2) Pterinochilus murinus/OBT (Architect)

Another new one, Cyriopagopus sp. “Hati Hati“.

A “friend” bought me some spoods to help my little collection. I use quotation marks because I’m not sure how much longer we’ll be friends after this, since he’s decided to throw me into the deep end when it comes to Old Worlds.

He also brought over some velvet spiders that I’m going to make a separate post about because I have some Things To Say about them.

Firstly, the tiniest Lasiodora parahybana I have ever seen in my life. I did not know one of thew world’s biggest tarantulas started off this small. Another hobby darling to add to the collection.

Second is my first ever Old World - Cyriopagopus sp. hati hati, or the Purple Earth Tiger. Has all of the fun stuff you’d expect from an Asian arboreal - possibly potent venom, the ability to teleport, and a not-so-great attitude towards people bothering it. This little one didn’t actually bolt at all, thankfully. 

Not pictured is Heteroscodra maculata, the Togo Starburst or Ornamental Baboon. Grouchy, defensive and the first tarantula to move quick enough to actually make me jump. According to my friend, it’s a crash course in everything bad about Old Worlds and therefore a great way to get used to them. We’ll see if that logic works out. It’s a little smaller than the earth tiger, and still very much solid brown. Through a stroke of sheer luck, I managed to get it to bolt into it’s new house and called it a day there. Pictures can wait until I’m a bit more used to it.

In the meanwhile, please pray for my soul.
