#cw's mid season schedule speculation

So, the rumor that the 8pm slot on Tuesdays in Jan. and Feb. will be filled with specials and repeats of TW looks even stronger now. If that's the case, and Tuesdays will have two episodes of TW to try and gain viewers, that comes across as extremely pathetic and desperate. They're only going to end up having the same 400K people watching both episodes because if people aren't watching it now and they decide to check it out, it will only take one evening of viewing two episodes to see how terrible it is and back out.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong and there's some other reality show, or more specials the CW is planning for the 8pm time slot.

I know you two don't always see eye to eye... but I was wondering your take on these asks..
Ask: Did TW go past its end date again? Cause filming should’ve ended yesterday
TFW2.0: I just heard about the fate of TW from a source I trust to be telling the truth. It explains why they are going over schedule. Strap in, everybody! We’re going for a ride! [source]
Now, tfw2.0 is PRO-TW... and sounds kinda happy in this answer? But then they followed up shortly after with this ask:
Ask: But you said you know TW’s fate… So cancellation then? Or picked up by HBOMax?
TFW2.0: Multiple people are now saying CM is shopping TW around. I first started hearing rumors it was being shopped before Thanksgiving. I now have sources on different sides of the fandom saying the same thing. It’s been my experience that if a rumor is on multiple sides of the fandom, it’s much more likely to be correct. [source]
(the ask in between these two was about how many shows were going to get picked up and he basically just made the same speculation anyone could make which is why the second ask questioned his knowledge of TW fate)
So the first ask on its own just sounds like he is claiming inside info and since he's pro-TW it sounds kinda like they may be picked up. But following that with the second saying they're "shopping it around" sounds like the opposite. But either way, what would justify going over their permit TWICE? Shouldn't TW showrunner/writers have endings planned out for either eventuality? I mean, most shows don't know if they are getting picked up or not and still are able to complete filming in a reasonable timeframe. If he's implying they got a second season then why would they need to extend? They could have cliffhanger etc. and it would be fine. If they AREN'T getting picked up, then why would the studio waste more money letting them do some big send-off final ep? I feel like neither scenario makes a lot of logical sense.
And what does he mean by "sources on different side of the fandom"?? Are they sources or are they in the fandom? I know they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive and people itk can be part of fandom but it's just a weird statement. If they are truly ITK then what does it matter what "side of the fandom" they're on? The info should be the same regardless of what the person personally likes.
So he claims to know the fate AND claims they are shopping it around??
Maybe the "strap in" comment means TW is on the bubble so it's going to be a rollarcoaster of will they or wont they emotions.
If they started shopping around TW before Thanksgiving, which was after episode 6 air, then it kind of makes sense since networks has a habit on only paying up to 6 episodes and then “forget” to pay the rest of the season while they check on ratings.  Then episode 7 mid season finale happened with another rating free fall.
'he claims to know the fate AND claims they are shopping it around??"
It's not mutually exclusive, the fate could be that it will not be renewed by CW and hence the shopping around.
The only reasons I could think of why they went over their permit timeline twice is because 1) reshoots for some of the pilot scenes caused a dominoe schedule delays and/or 2) they're rewriting and reshooting the finale in hopes of sparking a fan campaign to save the show, either by renewal or another network/streaming service picks it up.
I don’t think Patrick is implying that TW got a 2nd season, rather they trying to go all out so that fans will talk about it and launch a campaign to save TW even though those rarely works, but hey you never know!
“sources on different side of the fandom"  My guess he means TW destiel lover fandom vs TW hater fandom?  If the info is coming from inside the house fandom then does he mean fans from Jensen’s M&Gs?  Both side of the fandom would go to Jensen’s M&Gs so maybe that’s where Patrick is getting his “sources” since he’s pretty fandom active, with buying SPN scripts and sharing it online.

Lots of news about The CW’s fall schedule and the main thing being most of their shows will come back this fall!!! :D Most of the articles are speculating October but either way very happy they’re able to get back to somewhat normal. Out of the shows I watch “The Flash” is staying in it’s timeslot but “Riverdale” will now be paired up with it. Then “Legends of Tomorrow” is going to air in the fall on Wednesdays paired up with “Batwoman” after. Then “Nancy Drew” is switching to Fridays at 9.
There will be an Arrowverse crossover this fall too on “The Flash” only but actors from all the Arrowverse shows (possibly also “Naomi”, “Stargirl”, and maybe other DC movies/shows) in 5 episodes. Cress Williams already confirmed this morning he’s in talks to be in these episodes with EW. Happy they’re able to do this!!! :D
Then for mid-season they’re going to premiere “Naomi” and their other new shows, as well as bring back their usual mid-season shows including “Superman and Lois”.
Also for the first time The CW is doing family friendly holiday programming following a trend other US networks are doing that’s similar to the UK Christmas specials. One is connected to the Arrowverse with an animated Bebo holiday special while another is a “Scooby Doo” themed one about a reunion special. LOL
The most surprising of the specials is as the “Waltons Christmas” movie being remade for it’s 50th anniversary. “The Waltons” (both the original TV movie and the TV show) aired on CBS but was also made by Warner Brothers, which both own The CW. Bellamy Young has been cast as Olivia Walton with Logan Shroyer (teen/20s Kevin from “This is Us”) as John Boy. Richard Thomas will also narrate as the older version John Boy now. I grew up watching repeats of this show as it’s one of my Granny’s favorites and always related to John Boy being a writer too. This will also be The CW’s first TV movie and period drama so will totally check this out and to see who the rest of the cast is.
Some interesting decisions by the network but very happy we won’t have to wait as long for our shows. :D

Not sure if you watch legends of tomorrow, but is season 7 starting from mid October until the end or is it gonna be a situation similar to riverdale where the first couple are aired before a really long hiatus?
Riverdale and The Flash are the only CW shows announced as having a “five episode event.” Doesn’t mean other shows won’t end up having lengthy breaks, but that’s how the network is managing the schedules of the shows, and if I was to guess it’s that Riverdale and The Flash found with COVID protocols they need a little more time to get everything done properly. But that’s just speculation.

Shouldn't a trailer come very soon or?
That’s something many fans have asked and the majority was certain a trailer would have been released during the LUX con in Brighton.
So far we have seen that Netflix makes some trailers available a month before a new series or season drops so I guess a trailer will not come that soon but a teaser may. Of course, the most well known Netflix teaser was for Stranger Things  S3 which will drop in the summer so where does leave Lucifer?
Many sources hint that Lucifer will drop in April yet the April of 2019 is extremely packed. You might already know it but several people wondered how would Lucifer could compete with GoT. The obvious answer was the way S4 will drop versus the weekly episodes of GoT.
What am I trying to say here? That April may not be the month Lucifer will drop and that is because of the packed schedule and the various series returns. This is a speculation of course but I think that Netflix might take advantage of May or late April like the dropping Lucifer on the 19th or more likely the 26th of that month except if it wants to go against GoT and release it on the 12th.
Regardless, the answer to your question is that we will get a semi-trailer probably around mid to the end of March as far as I see it.

Based on Jason’s tweets about season 6 coming down to us, I’m tentatively hopeful. CW has been generous with its shows before, giving them notice of cancellation so they can write a proper ending, or a final season to wrap things.
And seeing as they are writing the end of the season now and have had no news of cancellation, that gives me hope!
We just have to promote the shit out of the show when the CW actually gives us material to promote. Watch it live, watch it on the CW website, watch it on Netflix, talk about it on social media, Twitter, everywhere!
Now if only the CW would stop being a bitch and actually GIVE US A PREMIERE DATE so they can give us the trailer.....
The TCAs (Television Critics Association) are the first week of January, with the CW having their panel on January 7th. Some people are speculating that’s when they’ll release their mid-season schedule, which is when we’ll get a date for The 100, which means we’ll probably get a trailer around then. Here’s to hoping!

The Flash Season 4
Thanks to early renewals on all the Arrowverse shows, the writers certainly left us hanging on each of the finales. With Savitar now defeated and Barry in the speed force (albeit temporarily, I’m sure), what can we expect from The Flash season 4? After the first 3 seasons featured a speedster villain (Reverse Flash, Zoom, and Savitar), the showrunners made it clear long ago that wouldn’t be the case for this season. Thanks to a tweet from @FLASHProdOffice, we know the title of The Flash season 4 episode 1 will be “The Flash Reborn”.
After name-dropping the character a couple of times throughout the last few episodes, TVLine.com confirmed that the big bad for this season will in fact be will be Clifford DeVoe (aka The Thinker). We haven’t seen any official casting announcements for his role yet, but hopefully as filming gets underway the network will release the news.
Who would you like to see in the role of The Thinker in The Flash season 4? Let us know in the comments below!
It won’t be shocking to see the return of Keiynan Lonsdale, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, and Carlos Valdes in The Flash season 4, but some speculated that Tom Felton’s role was only a one season arc. However, he’s already returned to Vancouver in advance of production kicking off next week. Just Jared via @kingscourtgraph spotted Tom enjoying some Vancouver sunshine on June 27th. But will Julian get another chance with his love interest Caitlin this season? We’ll have to wait and see.
At the very least it won’t take long for us to see Caitlin back on our screens. Yesterday Danielle Panabaker tweeted a photo of her parking space at Vancouver Film Studios while they were in final prep for The Flash season 4 episode 1:
We're back! @CW_TheFlash #TheFlash #Season4 http://pic.twitter.com/N0M20ufjk0
— Danielle Panabaker (@dpanabaker) July 3, 2017
Although one of Tom Cavanagh’s characters, H.R. Wells, met his death during the season 3 finale, Barry asked his Earth 2 version (Harrison Wells) to stick around, so we’re sure to see more of him this season as well. After The Flash wrapped up production on season 3, Tom was back a couple weeks later for a role in a Hallmark original movie called Darrow and Darrow. Look for that on the Hallmark Channel later this year.
RELATED: Darrow and Darrow with Tom Cavanagh Starts Filming in BC
The Flash season 4 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver and area today until April 21st, 2018. It premieres Tuesday, October 10th at 8pm on The CW in the US and on CTV in Canada.
Arrow Season 6
Arguably the biggest series finale cliffhanger in the Arrowverse last season was Arrow. With Oliver and William on a boat off the coast of Lian Yu alongside the dead body of Chase, we’re left wondering who made it off the island following the explosion; and how. Did Team Arrow make it to the A.R.G.U.S. plane on the other side of the island, or was it too late? Did the landmine REALLY kill off Malcolm? So many questions to set us up for a good story to start off Arrow Season 6.
At the very least, it seems as though Dinah and Rene made it out unscathed; both actors (Juliana Harkavy and Rick Gonzalez) were promoted to series regulars earlier this spring as per The Hollywood Reporter. Dinah made her first appearance mid-way through season 5, whereas Rene was present from the season premiere onward. Both were technically only recurring characters last season despite heavy screen time. We’ll also be seeing a lot more of Katie Cassidy in her role as Black Siren. According to TVLine.com, she’s back as a series regular for season 6 after spending most of season 5 out of the limelight.
Josh Segarra, the actor behind last season’s big bag Adrian Chase, has been in Vancouver for a role on the upcoming Overboard movie remake as per @pursuit23. Although it would be convenient for him to make an appearance on this season of Arrow, it’s unlikely assuming Chase didn’t magically survive his self-inflicted handgun shot to the head.
After Arrow wrapped up season 5 in late April, series lead Stephen Amell hasn’t had much downtime. Since June 1st, he’s been in his hometown of Toronto filming an indie sci-fi feature called Code 8. He and his cousin, The Flash star Robbie Amell, are both starring in and executive producing the film which is based on a 10-minute short of the same name, also starring the cousins. Code 8 is scheduled to wrap up filming on July 14th.
Arrow season 6 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver on July 7th and will continue until April 26th, 2018. It premieres in it’s new day/time slot Thursday, October 12th at 9pm on The CW in the US. According to a CTV press release, in Canada Arrow season 4 will maintain its Wednesday position on CTV TWO at 9pm. This is an interesting move; meaning that Canada will either get the episodes a full day ahead of the US, or we’ll be almost a week behind.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 3
Legends of Tomorrow may have the most-revealed upcoming season of all 4 shows. In a high level summary of Legends of Tomorrow season 3, the showrunners confirmed the return of Caity Lotz, Arthur Darvill, Victor Garber, Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Franz Drameh, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Nick Zano.
The returning cast will be joined by newcomers Tala Ashe (American Odyssey) and Billy Zane (Titanic) who will play Adrianna Tomaz (aka Isis) and P.T. Barnum respectively.
This time around the Legends will have to face the damage we saw at the end of last season which they caused by revisiting a point in the timeline they had already been. Their mission will be to restore the timeline without disrupting it further. However, their former teammate, Rip Hunter and his new “Time Bureau” gets in the way and causes the Legends to go their separate ways. That is, until Mick Rory crosses paths with one of them while on his much anticipated vacation in Aruba. With the gang back together, they’re determined to face the Time Bureau head-on and save the future their own way.
Thanks to @missalexad17 we know that one of the primary locations during Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 1 will be Central Park in Burnaby. According to the filming notice she found, the cast and crew are expected to be filming at the park from July 10th to 13th. Central Park is one of the most popular filming locations in the Lower Mainland of BC. In addition to being a location that Legends of Tomorrow has used several times before, in the past year the park has been used by Van Helsing, The Flash, Supernatural, Once Upon a Time, Arrow and more.
Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver and area July 7th until February 26th. It premieres Tuesday, October 10th at 9pm on The CW in the US and on CTV TWO in Canada.
Supergirl Season 3
Although Kara and team have put the threat of Queen Rhea behind them, their work is far from over. Recently added to the cast of Supergirl season 3 is Odette Annable (Pure Genius). According to Deadline.com, she’ll portray this season’s big bad, a recently well known Kryptonian and formidable villain from the comics lore, “Reign”.
In last season’s finale, Kara and Mon-El were torn apart after his pod was drawn into a wormhole, but mention of him in the network’s official summary of season 3 revealed that we haven’t seen the last of Chris Wood’s character yet. We’ll also see the return of the David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Mechad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan and Calista Flockhart.
Despite the undeniable on-screen chemistry and the proposal during the season 2 finale, we’ll see less of Alex and Maggie (aka Sanvers) this season. Floriana Lima (who plays Maggie) has stepped down from her series regular status. She’ll be back in some capacity though, because she’s still set as a recurring character as per TVLine.com.
Katie McGrath was introduced as Lena Luthor during the beginning of season 2 and recurred throughout the rest of the season. According to Deadline.com, we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in Supergirl season 3 as she’s been promoted to series regular.
Supergirl season 3 is scheduled to start filming in Vancouver and area July 6th until April 28th, 2018. It premieres Monday, October 9th at 8pm on The CW in the US and on Showcase in Canada.

The Indy special would also fit as a lead in to TW. Since it’s a 6 parter and there is six weeks open after TW doubles up on the 24th of Jan and S&L and GK premiering on the 14th of Mar.
It could be possible, it's only six episodes, if the press release didn't specify spring of 2023 as the release date. I know in some places January and February might feel spring-like, but I think they're talking 'actual' spring months, lol!

It really makes no sense why they moved TW to the less watched hour if not to give S & L their time slot back. And having a rerun play every week before the new ep? That seems odd too.
Well, they are giving S&L their time slot back, they just pushed it back a couple of months so that it could hopefully give GK a desperately-needed boost (if the trailer reviews are any indication of how bad GK's going to be). The later hour is a bit confusing. You would think they'd want new episodes airing earlier for more viewers and the repeats or specials (since the rumor did not say all of them would be repeats), could be burned off int the later, less-viewed hour.
I can see the dilemma if they're holding S&L for GK, but then have nothing else to air while they burn off the remaining TW episodes. It kind of makes sense because TW only has 6 episodes left, and there really isn't any other show to pair with it. WIndy got lucky being paired with Walker, which has more episodes remaining (I suspect the Indy 500 special will air on Thursdays after WIndy completes it's run.)
Either way, the whole thing is kind of odd. It's almost like they want TW to fail at the 9pm slot...

Well now we know when the flash will fit into the schedule
Yep! I believe that was one of the options that was bandied about. So, that leaves Nancy Drew and Riverdale for a likely Sunday airing and Superman & Lois for the Tuesday lead-in, so maybe GK airs Tuesdays after TW is done to keep the DC properties together? Though that still leaves open slots for Wednesday and Thursday when both Kung Fu and WIndy are over.
(I might be missing something...)

Just to let you know. I did further digging and those SpoilerTv dates aren’t official for Riverdale, The Flash, etc
It seemed like that might be the case since there were schedule conflicts. Thanks for researching that and sharing!

Coroner is having their Season finale this next Sunday, Family Law had their season finale. So Sundays are wide open for next year.

So... is The Winchesters and Professionals new this week, or are they repeats? (Because if they're repeats, it seems TW gets the most repeats out of all the CW shows and it still hasn't helped.)
I saw this tweet as well, so it looks like we'll be getting more information this week. I'm still thinking Riverdale and Nancy Drew for Sunday, but that's just a guess based on what's left.

I can’t find this elsewhere so don’t know validity https://twitter.com/SpoilerTV/status/1598396052285128705
This puts 3 shows on Wednesday. And that seems incorrect
Tumblr media
I think the people in the comments have the right idea and that the Feb. 15th for Riverdale is an error.
Tumblr media
If the others are correct, that would pair The Flash with TW (giving TW a strong lead-in, especially since it's The Flash's final season), as well as pairing DC properties together with S&L and GK. It sounds like that could work. As for Nancy Drew, they could pair it with Riverdale, but that still leaves time after Walker once WIndy is over. There's already a small Twitter pipeline that supports both ND and Walker, so it makes me curious if they'll move ND into the Thursday slot...

I need the CW to released its mid season schedule. I don’t know if they just hate all the shows, or they are still figuring things out. But they’re weeks behind the other networks.
I'm sure they're still figuring things out. They have new leadership that needs to get the lay of the land, plus, they're dealing with weird episode counts and series that need to finish. I mean, Walker has 11 episodes left while WIndy and TW will only have 6. What gets paired with the other 5 Walker episodes? WIndy repeats? Does the CW air a new show after WIndy's done hoping to bank on Walker's lead-in? What about Gotham Knights? Are they even still going to air it?
I haven't even gotten into the other shows, but whatever happens with Walkerverse, I'm confident that the remaining episodes will still air on Thursday. As for the rest... I guess we'll just have to wait.

ummmm...
Okay so Dynasty, a CW show, got a full 22-episode order. Which means the CW will have a SUPER crowded mid-season schedule and some people are speculating The 100 might not return until THE SUMMER to fit everything in.
nothing has been announced by CW or anything, so this is just speculation but if The 100 won’t come back until the summer I am going to DIE that would be over an entire YEAR and I just can’t do it I need my space babies and Bellarke pls let it come back in the winter pleeeeease
again: NOTHING IS OFFICIAL YET. The CW should release their mid-season schedule in the next week or so, I think.
