Dc au- the bestest friends ever

Their dynamic means so much to me, this introverted kid from the sea that hasn’t been on land before being partnered with this walking traffic light who’s always pumped for a new adventure and never does what he’s told

Tails thinks he’s the coolest guy ever and wants to be his friend while Kit tries in vain to evade the power of friendship and wants to be professional cuz he’s too awkward to make friends and thinks Tails is annoying (at first)

I imagine during an attack on Gotham, Black manta this time, and Kit was pursuing him, damaging a lot of buildings in the process (caring about property damage is for losers) so Tails and Batman were trying to arrest them both until Tails (on his own) manages to get an answer out of him about the situation with black manta (cuz Kit frankly thought it was none of the land dwellers business)

So Tails insists on helping him despite Kit’s protests and together they mange to solve the mystery and arrest black manta

Kit recognises that Tails def has some cool skills Tails is like:

“Who knows, maybe next time your on land you could stop by Gotham and we can team up again!”

“…maybe.”

Tails has been upgraded to ‘potential ally’!

(As soon as Kit and Tails become officially friends, Kit lowkey becomes attached to him at the hip, usually standing next to him, going where he goes when their on a mission together like a silent shadow. They’re a package deal!!)

thinking about kevin growing up in the nest and having to learn defense mechanisms to literally survive but are now the main criticisms his teammates have against him. and no one (besides jean) really know the fully extent of what he went through bc of the public persona and brick wall of self preservation he had to put up.

like he’s an asshole perfectionist about exy bc it was literally beat into him since childhood. running in 16 hour days since who knows how young he was and deprived of food and sleep when a drill was not performed perfectly

the world saw him and riko as brothers but riko was never kind to him. he hated playing the role as second best but it’s how he could make it through each day with one less injury. he was on eggshells nearly every second of the day because he was almost never out of riko’s sight. he learned how how navigate every mood until riko became too unhinged to navigate and by then he was so trapped in his role that he couldn’t fight back from riko and he couldn’t let the team know that he wasn’t just number 2 but he was a pet to riko. he was a bitch to his teammates to distract from what riko was doing to him and jean but also from so much built up anger inside for the person he could not escape

Imagine that as Cody when Kenobi went on that Hardeen mission

He wasn’t privy to know Obi-wan was undercover and while he has his suspicions, it’s wiped clean by how Anakin acts

Fox sees this and how the 212th are on leave but worries for his brother so he invites Cody on one of his missions

Cody goes with Fox and they go infiltrate a Seppie base for information

Cody seems fine; and to any other Vod, he would be but Fox knows his Ori’vod and so he waits

And waits till Cody cracks

And Cody’s sad but that comes out in anger because if he was there with Kenobi, he would make sure his Jedi never got shot

And he’s confused because Kenobi’s reckless but not stupid. How could he have gotten killed?

And he’s pissed because he’s dead and Cody can’t seem to let go of this feeling that Obi-wan can’t be gone. He can’t

And it’s a mixture of emotions that fight for their way to the front and Fox just sits and listens

“I’m sorry,” Fox tells his brother and Cody just humorlessly laughs.

“For what?”

Fox shrugs. “For not being able to grieve in private.”

Cody hates how true his brother is cuz they’re both Head Commanders. They can’t grieve publicly even if they wanted to.

And Cody just sighs and agrees. “Yea, me too.”
