I can't get your yakuza headcanons out of my mind, Daitou's got me in a chokehold and I'm not complaining, like--

in regards to that doodle you made to show height difference between reader and the boys [I love your art btw (●♡∀♡)] - I can't picture myself in reader's style, I'm currently going through my goth phase in my 20s lmao; picture a big bitch with tattoos and messy hair who's listening to nothing but 2000s hits and screamo bands - so I'd like to request a headcanon of how Daitou would react to a gender-neutral reader like this :D I also like to incorporate the idea of them once being in a famous band that he's a fan of! (sorry if this seems like a lot, I have a huge imagination hehe)

but if he's more into the cute and helpless type, I'll just walk my ass out the door and yeehaw my way into another yandere's arms ✌😔

That's on me for not drawing the reader inserts as cartoonish cinder blocks :') In truth I'm a little bit embarrassed seeing how many likes that doodle has gotten, it was something I put together in a hurry and the clothing was meant to be baggy, shapeless, with not too many folds for the sake of simplicity. I myself am more of a pilgrim goth, just to emphasize the randomness of the choice.

Drawing reader inserts always leaves me a little anxious. If I use a light shade of gray, will people think I'm excluding poc? Will plus sized readers feel like they've been disregarded? What about masculine readers? As someone who's demiromantic I always struggle taking appearance or gender into consideration, because to me it has no influence whatsoever. Which is hard to express when you want to offer blank slate visuals as an extra to the story.

What I'm trying to say is that all of my characters would like you for who you are. Sure, they find your looks cute, but it's not the defining reason. Maybe you have similar traits to them, maybe you're the complete opposite and they find it intriguing. You could be a buff man and Daitou would be just as grateful to have someone who isn't afraid of him. I usually stick to a female reader for bigger stories to avoid messing it up long term, but in the grand scheme of things it makes no difference. I always imagine reader to be a shapeless blob that provides the dialogue I need for the story mood. There's no concrete preference or type for any of my OCs. I mean, ideally you'd like them back and not hang them upside down above a BBQ pit but I feel these are sensible requirements (?).

And now for the actual headcanons since my ramble is over.

First encounter is comically awkward but for reasons you’re unaware of yet. You’re obviously used to people staring at you (more so in a country like Japan), so you were expecting the curious glance every now and then. On the other hand, being under scrutiny, from a man even more unusual looking than you at that, is odd. Mildly uncomfortable. You’re shifting yourself from one leg to another, hoping to be done with the introductions soon.

On his end, Daitou is anxiously fidgeting and trying his best to focus. He’s seen this face before and he can’t shake off the familiar feeling. Where the hell…He obviously can’t downright gawk at you, and he isn’t sure how to politely formulate a question. After several sheepish peeks, it finally dawns on him: weren’t you part of that band he really likes? No, what would the chances be? Then again, how many people out there would look exactly like you? Is it rude to ask? He has no idea. He resumes his mumbled description of the apartment and hands you the papers to be signed.

Back at his place, he finally digs through his merch and sprawls out the available clues. “I didn’t know you were into this kind of music”, Kazuya comments as he looks over the man’s shoulder. He’d come over to ask about the new tenant. “I’m pretty sure it’s them.” He concludes, confidently placing his index over a CD cover. “Huh? Who? The tenant?” Kazuya holds back his chuckle. “Why would a celebrity show up for a shady apartment offer? You’re tripping, man.”

“I’m sorry, this is getting ridiculous.” You finally exclaim, annoyed by the persistent stares of the now two men facing you. You’re standing in front of the apartment building, arms crossed, huffing at the tall scarred man and his blonde friend. “No, I’m sure of it. Even the tattoo is the same.” Daitou turns to whisper to Kazuya, oblivious to your complaints. In turn, Kazuya lightly elbows him, mouthing something about being rude. “Just ask them, man.” He adds, this time louder. “Ask me what??” You groan. “W-were you…um…in this band by any chance?” Daitou manages to blurt out, searching his pocket for the CD case and ceremoniously laying it under your eyes.

Ah. It finally clicks and you exhale, relieved. You confirm their suspicions and show them some backstage photos to solidify your claim. You ask Daitou if he wants an autograph or something, then swiftly scribble your signature on a piece of paper and hand it out to him. He holds it with a wide, childish grin. “You’re a weird one, you know? You could’ve just asked. I guess I didn’t expect to find a fan in the wild, especially here.” Daitou carefully folds the souvenir, eyes lidded with nostalgia. “Oh yes, it’s great. Drowns out the screams.”

OMG THE LORE OF THE IMMORTAL HARBINGERS

Especially for La Signora, because she used to go to the Akademiya about 500 years ago, and if Dottore was already in the Fatui 400 years ago (during the Tatarasuna incident), and therefore had been expelled a while ago, they could have been attending as students at the same time. Meaning that La Signora might have seen Dottore in his scrawny Akademiya scholar phase. (okay I know he probably wasn't that scrawny considering he strangled Sohreh to death but yk).

Plusssss if the theories about Colombina being a Seelie or one of the moon sisters are true, then she's probably been a live for a gazillion years and may have also seen Dottore when he was young.

So like they could both just bully him for it AND THEN ANYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM WOULD JUST BE STARING AT THEM LIKE D: BC THEY THINK DOTTORE'S GOING TO OBLITERATE THEM, BUT INSTEAD HE JUST GETS GRUMPY BC KILLING HIS COWORKERS IS NOT SMART AND WON'T GET HIM ANYTHING OTHER THAN MORE WORK TO DO.

whether it's been canonically confirmed or not, it's very very very likely that dottore is zandik. i wasn't into genshin when hyv was hinting at signora being rosalyne, but... looking back on it, the foreshadowing seems sort of obvious from a writing perspective. so, it is reasonable to assume they were at the akademiya around the same time. maybe they had no interest in one another (and probably were students of different darshans), but that doesn't really matter because they were probably there at the same time. rosalyne probably knew about him but didn't know him. he seemed infamous and shit.

THEREFORE it is COMPLETELY reasonable to assume signora would always be teasing him and shit. and we already know columbina DOES. i mean, girlie looked at him and said "you're looking young today, doctor 🤭" SO?????? THOSE TWO WOULD TOTALLY FUCK W/ HIM TOGETHER

and everyone else (save for pierro) is like ????? because what the fuck kind of messed up relationship is this.......

i bully dottore regularly and i think it's just so funmy to consider this potential dynamic.

Thranduil:

🦌 You met Thranduil when you were captured by his guards in his Mirkwood forest, and instantly he was taken by you; even though Elves only love once, he felt his cold heart melt a little when his cool, blue eyes met yours

Sweet

🦌 And sweet he was, before dinner, (which he asked you to join him, and you sat beside him as a special guest), he had learned that you loved playing instruments, and ordered one of his Elves to bring you one; Thranduil then gifted you a beautiful, crystal harp

🦌 When Bilbo had found a way to escape with the Dwarves, your heart was split, go with them and reclaim the mountain or stay with Thranduil; obviously after Thranduil gave you that deer-eyed look, you stayed, even thought you'd miss your new friends and wish them well, you wanted to live your life with Thranduil

🦌 And he was always there for you, making sure you had everything you ever need and wanted, Thranduil became super protective of you, making sure you were safe, (and making sure you don't die like his last wife...); together you are the 'it' pair, a powerful one at that, though you were able to thaw his cold heart, allowing Thranduil to rule Mirkwood with a much softer boot, and he has you to thank for that, (you changed him for the better)

Samwise Gamgee:

🥔 You met Sam when you joined the Fellowship, watching as he stood by his friend Frodo wish such confidence, his other two Hobbity friends joining in; you instantly felt drawn to him, thinking he was just simply adorable

🥔 During the journey, you got closer with the little gardener, and that was actually the first thing your found that you both had in common; from gardening, plants, sunflowers, and baking, that was just to name a few of the things you both spoke about with such fondness

🥔 Sam was enamored by you, your voice, your touch, the way you held him always gave him such comfort; and you loved Sam, the way he recited a small poem he wrote for you, or his promises of showing you his home, your lovestruck

🔍 When you physically met Milo, you thought he was sort of awkward and dorky, and he on the other-hand, thought you were amazing, to say the least; he asked you what felt like a million questions, about you job, your likes and your possible theories, and that's when the rest of the group began to grow pretty irritated... 🔍 Milo absolutely loves the way you joke around, your jokes always make him laugh and you think it's the most beautiful sound in the world, and Milo would say the same, whenever he gets a laugh out of you he feels like he's died and gone to heaven

Edward Nygma:

❓ You met Edward when you worked with Oswald... Well, you didn't work for him, you worked as a sort of... Partner in business, so to speak; you actually were extremely smart, in fact, you graduated from Harvard and MIT, working on perfecting your own... Special technology (as a somewhat good and bad guy, you called yourself a vigilante, you made your own tech that helped a lot of people, and one of those clients was Oswald)

❓ Anyway, you met Edward when he came to talk with Oswald, of course, you were there too; the conversation was slow, but once he gave you a riddle, it was like fireworks went off; you then surprised Edward by answering the riddle perfectly, and that's when Edward began to like you

❓ Now, Oswald, liking Edward, didn't really like you getting close to the Riddler, but you were closer to Oswald, and you knew that he wouldn't kill you, or try and have you killed, you could take care of yourself; so, with no one to really stop either of you, you and Edward began sort of 'dating'

❓ You knew being a vigilante and him being a villain, you'd both never had a normal relationship, no dinner dates out and about that's for sure; most dates consisted of you and him either quietly reading together, giving each other riddles to solve, or just doing crosswords together

❓ Even though Edward's mind is a bit... Warped? He, (and his Riddler persona) are mighty fond of you, and he was sure of himself that if you were ever in trouble, he'd be there for you; you felt entirely the same, you made sure to o out of your way to show Edward how much your cared for him, always there to make him smile

Stranger Things;

Eddie Munson:

👹 You met Eddie when you worked with Steve and Robin at the Family Video, he'd come by to say hello to the two and that's when you met him; instantly, he felt some sort of connection, (he likes to say it was love at first sight), and after meeting you, he came to the Family Video almost twice a week

👹 And everytime he came around, you be at the front desk, you got a bit suspicious that Robin or Steve knew when he'd come over so they put your behind the front desk; but Eddie would lean against the counter, flirt a little, give you his charming smile, and believe it or not, you fell hard

👹 From there, it was like you both were dancing around each other, waiting for the other to make the big move to ask the other out, but during that time, Eddie pulled out all the stops; bringing you sunflowers, new notebooks to write in, stuffed animals, and even new maroon yarn for your knitting, (which you loved)

👹 You were practically being spoiled by the young man, and the moment he gifted you a new set of dice for D&D, you asked him out; and of course, he said yes, and the both of you went out to a nice diner for dinner before going to see Labyrinth in theaters (because he remembered how much you loved fantasy)

👹 Eddie is head over heels, smitten completely, and falls deeper in love whenever you play D&D with him, and he loves how chaotic you can get, (he gets them heart-eyes); you couldn't believe you had someone like Eddie, a brave young man who understood you and made you feel alive, it's ever a dull day when Eddie's around, that's for sure, (you can't get enough of him)

Diana Prince:

👑 You met Diana when she met Bruce, your boss? It was never really said for sure if he was your boss or not, you helped him out with paperwork, but you felt that you were more of a friend than an assistant; anyway, you met her when Bruce heard about her, (and yes, you knew that Bruce was Batsy), and you were immediately hypnotized

👑 Like why does she have to be walking around all gorgeous like? She is literally a Goddess, like what the hell... In short, you were in love, (she might as well have been aphrodite; Diana, thought you were mighty pretty too, she loves the blonde hair, (she wants to braid it), and it made her realize that she might have a thing for blondes

👑 Well, after a couple of weeks of flirting, lingering touches, and sneaky, (not really), glances, she asked you out on a cute like amusement park date; there, she won you a giant bear stuffed animal, (cause of course she can win those games), and you both shared a kiss on the ferris wheel

👑 Diana, though she knew that you could take care of yourself, always made sure that you were safe before she left to fight villains; you stayed at your shared home, reading your J.R.R. Tolkien and other fantasy books, knitting yourself a new scarf and a matching one for Diana, and even baked something new

👑 Even though Diana sometimes left to fight and save others, you always knew that she loved you, she was very expressive, and you knew she loved you since she loved hearing about your random facts when you conversed; you found her incredibly smart, talented, and felt like you were on Cloud 9 whenever she's near, ("you're whipped," Bruce had once said but that only made you smile)

Charles Xavier:

🧠 You met Charles when you were sitting at a small diner, drinking some good tea and eating a small slice of cheesecake and then they walked through the door; Charles, and his friend Erik, sat across the booth with you and that's when they told you that you were a mutant, just like them

🧠 This surprised you, for one, huh? And two, who were these people, and lastly, why was the one just staring at you so intensely? All these questions had flown through your mind, and as if he had read it, Charles answered all of your questions; he was a mutant, he could read minds, you were a mutant too, and he would be willing to help train you

🧠 You thought about it for a moment, still a bit confused and slightly overwhelmed, you said yes, why wouldn't you? You got to be trained by a very handsome man who lived in a mansion; turns out that you were actually a mutant, you did feel like that was a fib, but you were one, (you could actually harness and manipulate sound and energy, levitate, create forcefields, use telekinesis, and exert major force with the energy, (the same as Vitkor from Umbrella Academy if you wanna see your powers in action))

🧠 You trained with Charles, using the violin, cello, and harp to help enhance your powers, and during this time, you grew close with Charles; Charles, as he taught you for a good couple of months, slowly fell for you, and he fell hard

🧠 By the next Spring, you both became an item, going on little walks, cooking together, reading by the fire together, and so much more; Charles is incredibly fond of how sweet and positive you are, you always brighten his day, and you feel the same, always amazed by the man before you, you both work so well together

Happy Munday! Hope you're doing well today. I wanted to ask about your creative process! What do you do to work on your blog? Do you listen to music, podcasts, essays, ASMR, something else or nothing at all? Do you work with an outline or does everything live rent free in your head? Anything else you wanna share about how you go about your blog?

So when I'm doing the sketches, etc, I def listen to music a lot. I listen to a lot of videogame music (okami, ScVi, SwSh, amongst others) and anime bgm music (a particular favorite is from Mushi-shi which is a great series btw). I don't use Spotify or anything, its just whatever I have downloaded already and copied to my phone and itouch (that's an oldie, does anyone else even know what those are? Lmao)

During the lineart phase, I sometimes watch anime during. I do all the lineart and screentoning on my phone, so it'll usually be a split screen with the top half video, bottom half Medibang paint. (Yup, typically everything but the sketches are done on my phone!)

Re: the story, it's mostly that I have key points in my head that I know I want to get to (ex the current being about the manaphy(?) egg ) and then fill in the gaps. I find that I lose interest if i try plotting it all out ahead of time, so I've been trying to plan like one current "arc" at a time.

I do have an endgame planned, like I know where I want the end of the story to go, but it'll be awhile before we get there. Chime has a lot to learn, especially when it comes to dealing with his biological family (who will def be showing up in the future) and former clan.

There are no humans in this universe, so the kinds of conflict that occur, while similar to how humanity can be, are also rather different. There are still biases, and stigma towards disabilities (such as what Chime has and will encounter).

I just hope everyone enjoys the ride XD I'd definitely love to have more interactions with other blogs in the future, anyone is welcome to do so!

Okay so this is the confession place for aroace people. Ummm so I may have done something to one of my parents. This was mostly unintentional. The parent was talking about crushes that the parent had when parent was younger. The crushes in question were of both girl and boy gender. Parent (to my knowledge) is hetero. I asked if parent was bi. Parent said parent had always liked both but was hetero. Uh sorry, I don't remember where I was going with this but um,,,,, This, I guess??? Currently also confused as to whether I'm actually aroace or just a very late bloomer. So I've never had a crush in my life and I don't really want one, but according to a parent (the very same one I talked about earlier) they're not something you can ask for or refuse. I also feel like crushes would just be a waste of time (for me, this doesn't necessarily apply to anyone else). I'm also a romantic according to the very same parent, but I still don't know what that means? Please tell me what it means. I mean, I love romances and close friendships in stories and cute romantic things, but just as long as I'm an outsider looking in. (Wow, that sounds really creepy haha. I don't actually mean it in a creepy way though!!) Sooo maybe I am aroace, maybe I'm not? Another thing, I got a few plants but for the life of me I absolutely cannot get them to stay alive :(. A bit sad about that. One of the other states of affairs in my strange life is the fact that my extended family on the other side of the world is bonkers! I feel like I'm watching a sitcom without the funny bits! I'm so glad I don't live near them! My little sister is also getting kind of weird around me :(. She has a best friend now who isn't me and they talk about everything (I could be wrong though). We're kind of growing apart and I don't like it :(((.

I also really want a cat.

Will I ever hit my rebellious teenager phase? I hope not. I love my parents and don't want to cause them any more anguish. They have a bunch to deal with already (including my bonkers extended family).

I'm kind of hungry now. maybe I should have lunch early?

Worried about college too. I need to take my SAT and apply and do a whole bunch of other stuff and I'm worried I won't be successful. I'm worried I'll fail my SAT, I'm worried I won't get into college, I'm worried I won't graduate college, I'm worried I won't find any jobs, I'm worried I won't be accepted by any jobs, I'm worried I'll hate my job, I'm worried I won't ever retire, I'm worried I'll fail life basically.

I'm also nonbinary (agender) and the same parent I've been talking about doesn't want me to come out publicly because parent says I'll "face many hardships and might get hurt/killed and I don't want that for my child". I mean, I get where parent is coming from, but dang, that's kind of a wild thing to say to a kid who has thousands of other things to worry about. Also I don't want to pretend I'm a girl for the rest of my life, that would suck so bad.

Oh another thing, racism sucks :(. I'm not white btw. When you get mad at brown people, you do not tell them to go back to their own country or some bull like that!! I mean I haven't experienced that yet, but both parents and sister have experienced things in that vein. I, however, have experienced so many little microaggressions (so has my sister D:<). For example when we go biking, one of the first things people ask us is "Are you from here?" or "Do you live near here?" I mean, come on! I know this is a mostly white neighborhood but you don't go around asking people those things! You never ask the white kids that! Don't pretend it's something you ask everyone! So rude!

Well I've been typing for about 20 minutes, maybe this is enough? No, I still have more to say.

I'm kind of tired of everything I deal with :(.

Also I hate what went down with Dobbs. The justices just yeeted our rights out the window, huh? Anyway reproductive rights should be protected on both the state and national levels.

More stuff,,, uhm,,,,,another confession... I am deeply uncomfy around republicans. They kinda just remind me of all the bad stuff.

Also I have no irl friends :(. (not counting my sister). Parent (yes, that one) says I'll make friends in college but I'm worried nobody will like me for who I am. When I was younger I had no problems being myself around other people, but now I just tailor my personality to fit other people because I want them to like me. I have no problems making 'friends' with people multiple times my own age, but making friends with people my own age is just difficult.

I'm also worried about the people I love dying because about 6 years ago, a close family member died. I also saw a post here that said you'd treat people better if you pretended everyone was going to die at midnight, and now sometimes I still can't shake the feeling that it might actually happen. I do try to be nice to everyone.

My sister says I'm too trusting of people, and I'm also too optimistic. Anxiety and optimism isn't the best combination haha.

My parents are nice, but they don't really understand all this stuff and everything I'm going through. For example, I told one of them I had anxiety and was believed! And then I told the other (yes, this is the parent who I've been griping about through the whole thing, the very same), but was told "no you don't have anxiety because other people get more worried than you". HGJK BVNKM SO FRUSTRATINGGG!!!

Also I'm half-convinced that parent (yes, that one) actually dislikes me?? :( The parent in question says parent wants what's best for me and stuff but I don't know...

Also the pandemic has taken a large toll on my mental health. Also the Roe v. Wade being killed thing. Also the midterm elections. Also climate change. Also capitalism. Also college stuff. Also being a human. I wish I was a jellyfish. Immortal jellies are really cool. Also Portuguese man-of-wars are cool. Also Sailor-by-the-seas. Jellyfish salad is pretty tasty though.

Sometimes I just wish the earth would swallow everyone else up and I'd be alone with the animals and Earth could start anew.

I wish life wasn't so complicated.

Also I got a therapist recently, she's helping a bit. She told me I have anxiety (not a surprise). She said I may also have ADHD too (also not a surprise).

The answer hit you when the head of your lover rolled, and a pair of vacant blue eyes, like still turquoise water, stared back at you.

Yona and company are currently wanted in a foreign country. Propaganda began to spread after the death of King Il and the disappearance of his closest entourage. In a forest, they're forced to grit their teeth in the cold as they bare another night in the wilderness, but it's nothing new, and the party remains cheerful.

"Hey!" Zeno cheers, "miss, are you cold?" You watch as your boyfriend approaches Yona, offering his scarf to her before returning to your side, seeking your warmth. It hasn't been long since you two got together, but the longer your conversations dragged on, the shorter they felt to you when they ended. They weren't about anything particularly deep, mostly consisting of the contents of your life up until just before you met him and the others, because he refused to talk about himself. After witnessing several sides to the mysterious, yet obviously kind man, a few weeks later, you found yourself head-over-heels for him.

And you confessed.

"I love you," rolled off your tongue like sweet honey, and his breath hitched in his throat.

You remember the way his face fell for a fleeting second, and you remember the feeling of how tight your chest became.

You didn't understand just how much torment it brought him, how he wished for those words to never leave your mouth. 

Yet his heart fluttered all the same, so much so that before he realized it, his expression had softened into a smile, and you were in his arms, red in the face. 

His embrace doesn't phase you so much anymore, and you nuzzle your head against his chest, indulging in his warmth as he wraps his arms around you. 

"Are you feeling cold?" He whispers, holding you closer. You shake your head in response, not lifting your gaze. "Okay then, good night. I love you," you heard him mumble before a light kiss placed itself on the top of your head. Bunching the fabric of his garments in a fist, you whispered; 

"I love you too." 

The next morning, you were on the move again, with Yun planning your route back to Kouka. A muddled groan rang out from his throat. 

"We have a slight problem..." he mutters, running his hand through his apricot locks. "It looks like the only way we can get back to Kouka is through a village, unless Jaeha wants to carry each and every single one of us across an impossibly large valley." 

A million questions raced through the individual minds of the group, one being the most prominent amongst them. 

"What if we get caught..?"

Yun and you went to town, mapping out several alleyways that were hidden from the public eye to use, just in case the military passes through the village on the day you leave. As you strolled through the village with calm eyes, you thought to yourself. 

"Hey, Yun. You guys have all known Zeno for a while now, right?" You ask, curious, deciding to take a chance for your age-old question. If it's Yun, he'd tell you, right?

"Yes, and what of it?" He answered, checking his notebook and looking around, trying to take in as much detail of the village as possible.

"Well, I was wondering if you could tell me what his power is, y'know, as the yellow dragon." He stopped in his tracks, staying quiet. 

"Ah, there's another one over here," you follow his raised finger to another alleyway. Puffing your cheeks, you reluctantly follow him into the crevice of the buildings. "Sorry, but I don't think I should be the one to answer that question." Yun added, he could only imagine what Zeno must've gone through for the past 2000+ years, so he didn't feel like this was the right place, or right person to tell you. 

You pouted, running circles in your mind trying to figure out what exactly your lover's power was, not only because you simply wanted to know what it was. 

You wanted to know what it could possibly be, for Zeno, and everyone else to feel like they can't trust you with the information.

Upset, you decided to just keep quiet for the rest of the time, until you both regrouped with the others. 

"Oh! Welcome back!~☆" a familiar voice rang out, you lift your gaze to see your bright lover, arms spread wide, running towards you. Your body is then encompassed in warmth when two pairs of strong arms envelope you. "Did you have fun?" He asks, pulling away. You nod in response. You feel a pair of eyes from your left, and you look up to see Yun with a fallen expression. After noticing your gaze, he looks away, however. 

Night began to fall, and the group decided to start moving tomorrow. For now, the plan was to eat the dinner Yun made for them. You and Zeno sat a little ways from the rest, leaning up against a tree with a wide trunk. You had been quiet for a while now, and that didn't escape Zeno. 

"What's wrong?" he mutters, tilting his head so that you were in his view. You stayed quiet for a while before he spoke again. "... You can tell me," he says. 

"I don't know... I've been thinking... It's just-" and as if reading your mind, your boyfriend opens his mouth. 

"Are you scared?" He asks, recalling your bitten lip, and your furrowed brows.

"Yeah... I mean- what if we do get caught, then what are we gonna do... This is really risky... But I-I know that after this, we'll be back in Kouka, and safe..." you trail off, internal conflict spiraling in your head. As your mind spins, preparing for the worst case scenario, a warm hand cradles your cheek, pushing it ever-so-slightly to make you face him. The fire not-too-far away reflected in his eyes. The way the orange-red sparks flew and glimmered framed his gaze passionate, making you feel bashful. Despite the intensity of his eyes, his smile was tender. Drawing you closer, he whispered. 

"I'll protect you, I promise. No matter what happens." 

And before you could utter a word of rebuttal, the blond had your lips locked with his in a deep kiss. His lips were dry and his fangs often bit on your bottom lip, but you loved it. Your heart swelled and when it felt like it might burst, he pulled away, his eyes looking into yours, and he gave you a small smile before planting a soft kiss on your forehead, taking your hand and returning to the rest of the group. That night, you drifted off to the dream realm, the echoes of your lover's voice in your head lulling you.

Quickened breaths and rasped voices make you stir. Your eyes flutter open to a crimson-filled sight. You prop yourself up, wide-eyed. 

An unrecognizable man laid limp, 3 metres away from you, a pool of blood indicating his state. You look up to see small, but numerous lit-up torches in the distance.

"Y/N, we need to get out of here," your brain registers before you're pulled up by the waist. A warm hand gripped yours, and your body moved. The moonlight made out familiar strands of blond in front of you, dancing from the wind. 

"Zeno?- Wh-... What's going on??" You ask, your mind slowly piecing things together, praying that your boyfriend wouldn't utter what you feared most.

"We've been found," a voice behind you rings out. You look behind you to see everyone running with you. "We'll go through the village since it's empty and get out of here for good." Yun adds. 

"There!! Get them!! Don't let a single one of them escape!" 

Chills run down your spine and adrenaline rushes through your veins. It's hard to breathe. 

"You guys go on ahead, I shall buy you some time." Kija says, the sound of bandages ripping as his hand enlarges. 

".. Me too..." you hear one less pair of footsteps as a chipmunk squeals, perhaps with the same intention. 

"W-... Wait!!!" You screamed, but your voice was drowned out by the cries of men and ripping flesh as Kija and Shinah became smaller and smaller in your line of sight. 

You run and run, the houses of the village becoming larger and larger in sight, and for a second, relief washes over you. 

That relief was struck down by an arrow to the dirt, and you bump into Zeno's back. 

"Well well well, looks like we have our hands quite full this time around." Hak says, unraveling the cloth covering his guandao as men on horseback began to surround the group. 

Zeno held his arm over you protectively, and you saw his head tilt down. 

"Stay behind me, Y/N. I won't let you get hurt." 

Abiding his orders, you grit your teeth as you palm for your dagger, hidden away under your skirt. 

Screams and cries fill the air as the smell of blood and torn bodies fill your nostrils. A man with a sword approaches you from behind, and you take your dagger in hand, prepared to fight. With a yell, the sword comes rushing down and before you could even intercept it, a flash of yellow appears before you, 

and the sound of flesh and bone cutting filled your ears.

"I'll protect you, I promise.

No matter what happens." 

You blink as the headless body of your lover falls limp in your arms, and his head accompanying his feet on the ground. 

Your eyes feel as if they might pop out of their sockets, and your heart feels like it might rip itself apart. Your head pounds and your stomach churns. Your brain struggles to make sense of the event that just unfolded. You don't even feel the impact when your back makes hard contact with the ground, fabric sticking to your skin, cold and unsettling as blood seeps into your clothes, and your headless lover in your arms.

Your mind goes blank, and you accept your fate. You might as well die here, alongside the one you loved. 

"Ah- I'm sorry, it seems like a bit of my blood got on to you," a familiar voice rings out, but you don't process the words. Ah, this was it, Zeno's greeting you in heaven, that must be it.

A hand palms around, stopping when it finds your cheek. A scream elicited by the man in front of you brings you back to the situation at hand and your senses begin to function. Your cheeks feel wet and your sight seems blurry, but it made out a head of unruly blond hair, and a smile that you knew all too well. 

"Zeno..?" You whisper, breathless. He grits another blow as the man cuts through his spine. You can't seem to get a hold on anything that's happening. Zeno- or so you think, gets up and turns to the man, his cut filling your vision. 

And something unbelievable happens.

As if mending itself, the cut healed in a matter of seconds, and golden scales began to appear. The same scream rips itself from the man's throat, but is suddenly muffled when his head is brought down by a hand covered in similar, golden scales. You look around to see the rest of the men on the ground. 

"Sorry I let you see that," the clad-in-yellow man in front of you says. "Are you okay? He didn't hurt you right?" He says again, and this time, your brain registers the same voice blanketed in worry that you often heard from your lover. 

"Ze....no...?" You manage to utter, your lips quivering. He tilts his head and hums, smiling tenderly. 

"That's me," he says, and your vision began to blur once again. Before you knew it, tears ran down your already soaked face. You feel a pair of arms lift you, and familiar chapped lips place a light kiss on your temple.

You don't know if you passed out from shock, or relief.

Not that that's bad, just wondering! What's ur preferred kinda animation? Do u prefer lipflaps or lipsyncs? What's the hardest part of the animation process?? What's ur favorite?? Oh stars, okay, yeah- I’m happy to answer all these!! I’ll break them up so it’s easier to read X) And awww geez thank you so much for your support, sweet anon! It really makes my day when people say they like anything I’ve made, and stars knows it’s all the more true with the sweet sweet time sink that is animation   (´•̥̥̥\\ヮ\\•̥̥̥` )

Can u animate normally too, or only pixel?

This one cracks me up a little, don’t worry about it XD I totally can! In fact I enjoy it a lot - and... gods, animation software is a nightmare and a half, to be honest. That’s the biggest hurdle.

I do just straight up love pixel art and the aesthetic I can achieve with it, but I do at times miss ‘normal’ (non pixel?) animation, heh. Especially sound-syncing! I do all my pixel art in Asesprite which imo is the best pixel art program, not to mention made by an actual pixel artist - buuuut it doesn’t have a sound file option. Which makes sense! Er, frankly, most pixel artists wouldn’t... use it to animate like I do? More for games, or for looping gifs? So I can’t complain much, it makes a lot of sense that it’s a low dev priority.

Now, when it comes to other animation programs... I’ve tried a lot. Unfortunately, the ones that are preferable for the feel I like are either way out of budget (stares at TVPaint in the distance) or... well, have too high a learning curve for my single-person workflow, really. (OpenToonz, sigh...) And a lot of the free programs are good for getting a start in animation, but once you get to a certain point you really feel the limitations (whether it’s workflow, sound import, exports, trying to make something more finished than a rough...).

Then... there’s animation programs I just don’t like, and a lot of those are angled towards bone-style animations (nothing wrong with those, they just don’t fit my style? and are too much time investment for a single artist to output more quickly...), or are, well, freakin’ Adobe Animate.

I... gods, I do not like Animate (formerly Flash). And I made a whole 2 minute+ animation in it a couple years ago! (It’s very rough and bad and doesn’t make sense, pfff, not gonna link it XD) It’s... clunky, and vector oriented, and freaking lines don’t go where I want them too, and it tries to predict too much?? It’s hard to put to words, gah. For me, my animation style would be much more... raster oriented. Flow, hand drawn inbetweens, yaddayadda. Animate’s great for... plenty of things, but not for that kind of animation. There are far better animators than I who make it work with freakin’ aplomb though! So really, it’s just my taste, haha.

.... Er, that got long! I’ll cut off more rambling about animation software and tl;dr boil it down to “I love animating period, but turnaround is something I have to keep in mind as a freelancer, as well as budget, and my current focus is pixel animations for a number of reasons.” X)

What's ur preferred kinda animation?

I’m not exactly sure what this one means! Between pixel and non-pixel? Er, they both have their pros and cons, so I couldn’t say! But if I have to break down my current animations into categories, I’d say I have cutscenes, loop environments, and the broad game-like animations...

The first would be something like this animation feat. teasing Edge, the second would be something like this one with skesgo’s Starlan and Cinnamon, and the third is... everything else! From headsprite loops to ‘small’ characters running and so on.

Honestly, they’re all a lot of fun for different reasons! Cutscenes are generally the most challenging, but they give me the chance to push my limits and try and pull off something cool, whether I’m having to conserve frames (to keep the cost of a commission down) or whether I’m going more all out (which is a pricey commission, or a fun personal project, lol).

Loop environments are their own challenge - it may not look like it, but I put a lot of thought into how to make them look as natural as possible! From timing of talking characters, to where to place a blink, to exactly how many frames it’ll take to ‘soften’ a motion (so people aren’t just snapping between major poses) and so on - it takes... a lot of time to animate even simple scenes well, so I do a lot of mental math on how I can keep things affordable when someone approaches me for a commission. And frankly, I totally undercharge;; but I do my best!

Game-like animations are just fun. They range, they’re silly, to intense (I’ve animated fight animations before for game concepts), to indulgent, and beyond! Headsprites are always a delight, especially if I get to push the expression X) and I love tiny things (I mean... I am a pixel artist...) so getting to make lil tiny babs even just walking can be fun - and also, a lot more time consuming than you might thing, esp if you wanna make it smooth, like this lil Frisk I did last month or so:

Okay, lipsyncing basically is very time consuming. AND, I freakin’ love it. I love puzzles, and when it boils down to it, that’s what super fun & expressive lip syncing is (some Ghibli animations are the heckin’ best for this)...

and, I’m a pixel artist, without sound-syncing capabilities in her main art program oTL Yeah, I can export frames and line them up and check but... gods, it’s so time consuming. I’ve tried it out of desperation - but for even five seconds of sound (sayyyyy a lil Vine...) that’s hours upon hours of transferring back and forth just to check.

So even though I love lipsyncs, they’re too time-consuming (and ergo, if I’m being commissioned, often too expensive) to do often! Someday I’d like to get back to doing them more often, but for now, practically I stick to/’prefer’, in the loosest terms, to do lipflaps. For the layman, this is that ‘two frame’ (maybe three) open-closed style of animating mouths- however, I’m working on ways to keep that style, but make it more expressive! It depends on the project - and in commissions, I’ll pretty much always prioritize giving the client a little more body animation than mouth animation, unless it’d really fit what they’ve requested.

What's the hardest part of the animation process??

.... damn, this is a tough one! Sometimes I’d say it’s the initial concept work - but it depends on what I have to work with. Sometimes that parts a breeze - and honestly freeing, bc I can take the time to try and push what I’ll do with it!

Roughing is one of my favorite parts, tbh. It can be tricky, sure, but getting to go from keyframes to in-betweens & smears to adding the flairs of secondary motion (think hair swishing, or coats flaring, etc) is so exciting and satisfying.

From there it’s all refining, and tweaking...

Hm. Honestly, the hardest is probably the initial cleanup and lining. It’s cool to see it come together, but it feels so much slower, and it can drag - and then you find bits that actually don’t translate well from the rough stage, so you have to go back and rework, and oof it can just drag in this phase, heh. Plus, I’m always tempted to add more frames, but it’s not always realistic - I’m a perfectionist, to say the least, so I’m constantly having to leash myself back so I don’t turn a project into a half-a-year undertaking, pff.

Probably gave myself away talking about the roughing stage X) It’s just loose and fun and free! But seeing it all come together is also damn satisfying too, so that’s not to say I don’t like the refining portions either...

Outside of that, I also really like the beginning of the color stage! .... Before having to translate shadows/highlights to each and every frame *shudders*. That gets tedious, but it’s so critical! Anyways, though, I heckin’ love colors. I always have a rough palette in mind at the start of the process, but I go ham and play with it as a little break and a true test when I get to actual slap together a full frame with full color, highlights/shadows included! It’s exciting, like a preview of the finished product, basically :D

Heh, by the time I get to shadows/highlights, I tend to be getting impatient, I suppose. It’s not that I don’t like it - I definitely highly value it, and if it was the only thing I was working on in an animation that’d be different, but as a one-woman team I’m just raring to be done at that point; it’s very nearly the last thing I do, after all, so it’s a struggle to focus. X)

I suppose one that always gets me is more complicated backgrounds. It’s a work in progress, as I’m getting better and finding the fun in them for sure! But I’m still not where I want to be in translating ‘background concept’ to ‘finished background’ - it feels more stiff than my animations, I guess. So it’s a frustrating part... but hey, it’s part of it! And learning to embrace the challenge is a big help.

... I just always have to make sure I have a big cup of coffee and a good jam playlist going when I sit down to do ‘em, in the meantime.(=▿= ||||)

What's a thing people don't see that u put a lotta time into?

Definitely the coloring. This goes for both backgrounds and the animated characters themselves. It’s... never as simple as it looks? It’s time consuming, and while some parts of frames can be copy-pasted, I also put subtle work into the animations that mean that some pixels are off so it ends up being marginally faster to just recolor, but then there’s shadows, and working in pixels means that if I miss one then there’s a flickering pixel mid-animation, and sometimes there’s an unconnected line and then you bucket fill the whole damn thing, and gods know I’ve got colored lines so I have to be exacting with keeping the same ratios highlighted vs darker in shifting frames...

*deep breath*

... Yeah, basically the coloring is super time consuming. And balancing bg coloring with animated elements in the image itself is a whole extra challenge on top of that. For 99% of my animations, I can damn near guarantee I’ve spent at least twice as much time coloring it as I have animating it.

... Stars above, I can’t choose! I love them all, and at this point a good portion of them are commissions- it wouldn’t feel right to choose!

... also, that said, I can admit a soft spot for any of them that involve humor. I tend to get to do extremely expressive faces and action there, even if I have to ration the frames, so it turns out really fun X)

And though rough and I’ve definitely done stuff I’m more proud of, I still crack up at this one I did a while back of the nonsense ‘ass’ joke between Red & Stretch... their faces were too much fun XD I’ve gotten waybetter since then though, Big Oof, I see so many things I can fix; might go back and redo it someday.

Honestly, though, I just freakin’ love animating! They all have their ups and downs andI always put a lot of love into them and find a way to have fun with it and try to push any emotion/theme (when applicable). I like to think it shows, but idk, that’s something I have to leave up to you guys X)

Mostly by being really strict with myself, lmao.

I’ve never had a problem with idea generation, I can only watch other people say ‘how do you come up with ideas’ and think PLEASE TAKE SOME OF MINE THOUGH because I go through these ‘idea generation’ phases where I come up with like idk, 30-40 things I want to write at a time and of those 30-40 things there’s like 5 I really want to write. My writing folders are filled with plot bunnies, including Fae Tales AUs from 6 years ago that I still think are good contenders (some still have playlists, like Hard Edges - a Gwyn/Augus/Ash OT3 human AU where Augus and Ash work as prostitutes and Gwyn is in the military and needs to keep his being gay on the down low because of his family).

If I start talking about or mentioning an idea, or brainstorming it, then chances are I really want to write it and it’s at the top of my ‘to do’ list, but that still doesn’t mean it will get written, because I am very loyal to my current stories. I feel like serials and longer stories are like a commitment you make to a person, if I decide to put the characters through my particular brand of hell, then I owe it to them (and the people invested in that story) to give them a happy ending and not abandon them. Ethically, that’s how I feel, it’s like an ethical choice, it’s very weird and dskaljfsda yeah. This is why I don’t abandon long stories halfway through (I may stop early on, and I can abandon PWPs but they’re both different for me). It’s also why I have to be so strict, my loyalty to current projects is always first.

It’s not even something where I get like, bored of current projects. I really don’t. I am 100% into The Ice Plague and Eversion and Spoils of the Spoiled and wish I had more time for those too! I just...have a lot of ideas. Tbh a lot of my life is like, as soon as I finish a project, doing a really crunchy assessment of what I really want to most work on, what is logistically a smart thing to work on (as much as I would like to spend all my life writing different fanfic ideas I cannot make an income off that and I think some of my original ideas are pretty good too!), and then idk, stare at like the 10 different ‘PLEASE DO THIS ONE URGENTLY’ list I have (and the 30 below that, which are like ‘PLEASE DO THESE ONES TOO’) and then I get to pick one thing and that’s...I mean that is the hardest part, always wondering if I’ve picked the right thing, and knowing that once I’ve picked it, that’s 1-3 years of my life gone to that project (longer, if it’s an original serial). 

This is why at the beginning of a project I’m often really angsty about whether people like it, if I should stop the project, if I need to quit, and I’ll go through a lot of agony and anguish and stupid anxiety over it like ‘oh god people hate it why am I even doing this I should pull out now because I won’t let myself once I hit chapter 10 so quick, quit now you made a MISTAKE.’ (It really doesn’t help that my beginnings are often the weakest parts of my stories, no matter how much work I’ve put into this, it’s still true even if it has improved).

(Btw - I never have regretted it, I’ve never regretted a single project I’ve put a lot of my time or myself into). Still, it’s when my poor beta/friend needs to offer the most tangible reassurance, and I turn into a pathetic lump over it, lmao. It’s especially hard if, around the same time, I’m getting asks like ‘when are you going to do more RotG stuff? When are you going to do more TGATNW? Are you ever going to work on this AU idea?’ because they cause major ‘OH GOD I AM, I AM DOING THE WRONG THING’ episodes. Tbh, starting to write Game Theory and committing to it, when - at the time - most of my asks were still about SAL for ages, and ‘when are you coming back to RotG’ and literally ‘I don’t want to read your original stuff so when you come back to RotG I guess I’ll come back and read’ - was probably one of my most trying times, but also taught me a really important thing: I have to write for myself, because other people want me to work on about 60 different things, and some of those things aren’t good for me to be working on. Like, I want to make everyone happy. I can’t.

At least I can (and do) work on more than one thing at the same time!

As for the Raven Prince, I’m not sure what course he’d take! It’s fun to think about though. I know Augus is probably taking botany, and I’ve had some thoughts about Gwyn, but the Raven Prince I think would end up around hard sciences like chemistry, bioengineering or chemical engineering with like, a minor in poetry or literature. He’d want something that was literally a chance to experience alchemy, and the chemistry sciences are the closest one gets to that these days.

But a human Raven Prince (whose first name would be Corvus, and yes, he legally changed it himself heh) in this universe would be in some ways very different to the Fae Tales Raven Prince. Like, he needs a completely different back story, and he simply can’t be as wise or learned as he is in the canon, so he’s probably going to be pretentious uppity dickhead with emo fashion sense and obscure taste/s in music and literature, and I already love him :D

The Deviant: The Renegades Kickstarter launched last Thursday and we would have loved it to fund in 24 hours, but it was actually closer to 25. Possibly every backer was pranking us, but in the end it’s cool- we did fund, we’re gonna get this newest Chronicles of Darkness game into retail stores, and we’re moving into building additional books with the Stretch Goals!

We have had some folks, who I’m guessing have not backed any of our last few KSs, write to tell us that they’re taken aback by the listed international shipping costs. Yep, we are as miffed at those costs as you, and as I posted here a month or so back, we have chosen to go ahead and still ship internationally and post the costs, rather than stop shipping internationally as quite a few of our fellow TTRPG publishing have chosen for their KSs.

I figure it’s better to let prospective international backers know the cost upfront so they can make the informed choice that makes the most sense to them.

Usually when I explain this, I also let folks know that behind the scenes we have tried and are continuing to explore alternative shipping options. With Deviant‘s KS, we are still using our previous methodology, but with the concurrently running Creature Collection for Scarred Lands 5e Kickstarter (also doing nicely, thank you!) you can see one of the options we’re exploring.

In CC’s case, we’re working with Handiworks Games not just on the art and writing and design and Kickstarter for the book, but also with printers and fulfillment based in the EU. We’ll have a bunch of books sent over to the US for those backers, and then we hope that costs to ship from the EU for our international backers will be more reasonable.

Like I say, it’s an experiment that we think will work in a good way, but that’s never a guarantee in the rapidly shifting cost-structures of international shipping. And we’ll have to see if it is repeatable for other projects, too.

But enough about Kickstarter, let’s talk about me.

Well, pretty much about how I spent my weekend, but it will circle back around to general topics about our hobby.

Have you ever had one of those time-frames where it seems that everybody you haven’t been able to get together with all want to hang out at essentially the same time? Well, that’s what happened to me, and for a twenty-four hour period I had three get-togethers (one was virtual) with old gaming buddies.

The first was an invitation from two high-school friends for dinner on Friday night which of course turned into talking about how my one buddy Johnny, aka Shithead the Dwarf, and I first met during our first D&D games as sophomores in HS. That’s the gaming club where when we started, we had the first four little D&D booklets and were waiting for the fifth booklet, Blackmoor, to be released.

It just so happened that my English class (that’s what we called Language Arts then, kids) had assigned me a journal to write, and in it I chronicled those first D&D adventures, so even now through the mists of time I can read all about how we’d stir through piles of mud with 10′ poles, and get attacked by 11 Stirges, and lose our Cleric to being swallowed by a Giant Frog.

The first few months we played with our very first DM, Robert, but then he had to get ready to graduate, and both Johnny and I stepped up as DMs. Johnny continued to run and play games until he graduated, and I did same but returned to our HS to run games for a couple of years since my art college wasn’t that far away.

When Johnny came home for break, and later when he was on leave from the Navy, there was always a seat at our gaming table for him, and some of his “temp” characters lived on as famous NPCs. Which was easier because my setting, my D&D “world”, has been the same since I first stepped up to DM as a sophomore.

(I share all this about my friend both for context and because I’ve known this guy for over 40 freaking years and that amount of time boggles my mind.)

And we weren’t the only players who ran games too, most of our players did both – which makes me wonder what we could have done with Community Content sites for all of our many worlds? Getting into Dragon Magazine was some folk’s goals, but if we could have published our stuff? Wow!

Of course, we probably would have needed the internet to make it happen, and we were just getting desk-top computers at that time!

BTW I just listened to the recording of our “What’s Up With Onyx Path Community Content?” panel from Gen Con on the Onyx Pathcast from last Friday, so Community Content might be on my mind. It’s a good panel if you’re interested in exploring publishing your own material for our games, so check it out on Podbean or your favorite podcast venue.

Then, Saturday all day was board games with the old gaming crew from both HS and the college years: Elmer the Troll, Thock the four-armed well, Thock, D’Gr’Gr the Duergar, and Ish, the gender-neutral Deep Gnome jester.

Obviously, those are their character names (from one campaign I ran), but in real life they are old friends and we’ve tried to get together once a quarter to play games, or go to the movies, or whatever, and this was one of those occasions.

We played Terraforming Mars and Blackbeard, and had a fun time learning the former while grinding our teeth trying to figure out what the hell the rules were so desperately trying to say with Blackbeard. Granted, it was an old Avalon Hill game, but seriously, these things were contradictory in the same paragraph.

This is one of the reasons I take the errata phase of our Onyx Path games seriously – can the audience understand and implement your text in the way you intended when publishing it? It’s sometimes hard to tell until you get it in front of that audience, so that phase for us gives us that feedback.

Then Saturday night, after our guests left, I raced upstairs to join our ongoing D&D 5e game on Roll20. It had been quite a while since we could get our schedules to line up (and of course it had to be this self-same day), and we were shifting from Justin running it to Oscar. So big change, although they had decided to keep our current characters and storyline with Oscar stepping in to add to our ongoing saga, and Justin could join in as a player.

So I had to play if I could swing it timing-wise. Turns out I could, and did, and a good time was had by all. What’s really interesting is the contrast as I look at the playing experience Johnny and I were reminiscing about, and the one I had on Saturday night.

Still playing D&D (from 1e to 5e!), but there’s our group doing collaborative world building as DMs. Not done by me and my HS friends in those early days; everybody was more about presenting THEIR world, that melange of influences and tropes that they wanted everyone to play in. The chance to tell the stories they wanted to tell. In a way, it was very personal, and it was how we all expected was just how it was done.

I do think part of opening up how and why we create and run our settings is the ensuing decades of game design that have experimented with more innovative ways to play. Not all the avenues that have been explored have worked long-term, but the accumulation of trying different things has enriched our hobby overall.

And, of course, there’s the huge difference that we played on Roll20. We had players on the West Coast US and on the East Coast, and we’ve had players coming in from London, places in Canada, the EU, and Micronesia previously. Being able to pull your group together from all over the world is such a boon when I remember worrying if all of our group would make it just from all over Philadelphia for our weekly session.

What I’m saying with these comparisons, is it’s a great time to be a table-top RPGamer!

Final thing about me – I’m going to do Inktober again this year. That’s the challenge to do one drawing in ink every day for the entire month. Any kind of ink. Last year I depicted characters that were all from the MithraukoQuest storyline of my old game world. This time around I’ll be doing characters and creatures that are part of the world, and from different gaming groups’ adventures, that weren’t part of the years the players fought against Count Mithrauko – so look out for my drawrings on social media.

All this, all these years of playing, and the years of reading genre fiction and comic books, the years of TV and movies, of studying fine art and graphics, all go together so I can decide what games we’re publishing, and what seems like it’ll play well at the table, be characterful and immersive, will look really cool, and have visual hooks like page layout and symbols – all of it comes to together and powers up my ability to make sure you have:

And Saturday was, I hear, Batman Day, which works well, especially if you recall the first drive in the Batmobile to the Batcave in Tim Burton’s Batman with the low angle shot up the road with swirling dead autumn leaves in the car’s wake. Lovely, just like the season.

okay okay I have this really great idea for a stony fic and I rlly want to write it!! but im not sure if people would read it? I wanna write an identity porn fic where no one knows that tony is iron man but everyone knows steeb is cap. bc steve is a cinnamon roll he volunteers with a construction crew after battles to fix the damages. Steve and Tony hate each other btw. (hmmm. tony “hates” steve ofc. rlly hates him. sometimes he looks pics of steve in really tight tops up and projects them onto his shower wall. but no one needs to know that.) Well, Tony makes the construction crew come to his mansion (stark tower? idk her) and steve is LIVID how dARE the billionaire use VOLUNTEERS to rebuild his stupid mansion??? (tony didn’t mean to! he messed up some paper work bc pepper was busy in california and accidentally sent his paid-for construction crew to the battle damages and the volunteers [who always end up “winning the lottery” or “finding a brand new car parked in their drive way with mountain bikes for the kids and a playstation loaded into the back” btw. except steve bc hes a dick.] ... anyway, tony made a mistake, but he can’t very well fix it bc technically it IS battle damages and he needs to be the Arsehole Billionaire so people continue to Hate him so he can be iron man in peace bc he has some issues and thinks he only has worth when he’s in the suit and doesn’t realise that his strategy of making the public hate tony stark is a form of harming himself fjfjfjfjfjfh. so,,, he just sits there and watches steve fix his mansion. well, they start talking and blah blah tony helps oh no! tony is a nice person! oh no! steve really likes how tony looks when theres dust in his hair! oh no!! steve is falling for him!!! OH NO THEY HAVE TO SHARE A ROOM with only o n e b e d. okay maybe not that but ya know love story in action and then steve finds out that tony is the bestest human and feels like shit and apologises and they finish rebuilding the mansion and the team gets rooms and steve moves into tonys bedroom and im a little bitch for happy endings. Long time no replies. Yeah. Last week, I couldn’t do them on Sunday. I couldn’t do them on Monday either because I was in Prague all day and got back home at midnight. I thought I’d do them on Tuesday but then I didn’t feel like it, and then there was school stuff and other stuff and yeah here we are, it’s another Sunday. I don’t think anyone cares that much though :D

I’ve been working on Rose Legacy all weekend. It’s been so much fun. Right now, I’m halfway through the first part of it, the part that’s focused on quadruplets. I had a phase a few days ago, I was thinking about switching to ts3 again and I felt like I didn’t actually want to do it for some reason. Probably because I’ve been posting ts4 for months now and switching games after such a long time has always been kinda weird. It was always the other way around though - I posted more ts3 and less ts4. Eh, you don’t care :D Now I’m excited for posting that legacy again. I still think of them as of my “mascots” to be honest, they’ve been here since before I had a simblr. Anyway, January 2019. Roses are back. It’s gonna be great. I hope.

Another thing no one cares about, it snowed for the first time today and it hasn’t melted yet. I’m so happy. I'm like a child when it comes to this, really.

Oh, I remember my prom, it was maybe th esecond coolest memory of school! Now I sometimes look back at it and feel nostalgious (less than half a year passed, yo). Glad, you enjoyed yours, too<3

It’s been two weeks and I’m still thinking about it. It has really been the best thing about high school so far, and I doubt anything will top it. We finally got the video of the prom on Friday. I haven’t been able to watch it but I hope it’s good :D

Can I just say I’m glad it came off like this. Bittersweet. I kind of wanted that, to be honest. Not in the “yasss I’ll make my followers cry I’m so evil hahaha” way though. Idk it’s hard to explain.

It’s different from other legacy couples, in my opinion, and I’m here for that. It’s kinda refreshing. I mean, usually people love the heir, love their spouse, want them to get together. This one? This one is something else.

I’m not saying I’m gonna make all my heirs assholes from now on, don’t get me wrong. But it was fun to try something new :D

Is it a holiday? When there are holidays in game, there was a bug where, if you had a loading screen for any reason (even CAS) sims would come home from work and school.

Nope, it was a regular day. Still a better bug than the current one :/ I thought I’d start playing gen 3 but I don’t want my sims to age up when I enter CAS. I know there’s a fix for it now, I’ll probably look into it tomorrow.

Oh yes. I think I prefer the dying animation in ts3, where they just sort of turn into ghost. The ts4 animation might be more realistic, but the ts3 one is just...beautiful, in a way. Sad but beautiful.

This, for me, was also very bittersweet. Because it’s awesome that he finally realized he has to be there for her, and it’s great that he finally cares, yay character development...but December had to die for him to realize. That sucks.

I have to say something else here...at this point, you’d think I would make them interact more. I didn’t really. I don’t know why, but I didn’t. So really, who’s the bad person here? I’d just like to say that from here on, they were closer, they spent more time together, even if I somehow didn’t show it. Past me, you’re stupid, this was such a big part and you ruined it.

39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?

Honestly? I've felt for a long time that it's more of a habit than a passion. I mean, it's a mix of both. But I've gone through very inspired and creative-fueled stages of my life where I produce an awful lot, and I've also gone through eras where I'm lucky to force myself to write one poem in a week. Right now I'm more in the latter than the former, but it's so flexible and I can go back in forth quickly. Probably the bipolar and ADHD in me affect that a lot.

At this point my muscles as a poet are so developed, which is not to say I think I'm great, but just that, like a muscle, it's a part of my body. It's like riding a bike, except I never actually learned how to ride a bike. I've written thousands of poems though, and I've been doing it pretty consistently since I was very young and very much unlike the current version of myself that I am. That fact is that I just know what I'm doing on a structural level, regardless of whether or not I'm producing anything "good."

Some people like to wax philosophical about poetry, as if you have to have a deep urge, as if it has to be fueled by passion and emotions, but it's really fucking not that way, for me at least. In my opinion that's kind of an immature standpoint, not that it's wrong for everyone. But at this phase in my life, I write because it keeps my brain fresh. I make a toy of language more than I pour my heart onto the page. I don't think I'm wrong for that. What people think doesn't make someone a poet is actually what marks me as a long-term poet.

It's been almost 10 years for me. I don't have a constant well of inspiration to drink from. I'm not above drinking from the toilet. (Oh, hey, I already made that joke in a poem 2 and a half years ago.)
