So my first post is showing off some Danganronpa sprites & Game Over gifs I made for a multimedia Danganronpa roleplay I’m running currently called Results & Retributions. A bit of backstory, and catching up to what’s all going down. 16 participants all wake up in some laboratory facility, given codenames and Ultimate titles, and are told that they’re put in a test discerning morality, selflessness, selfishness, and humanity. Rod Serling, A.K.A. The Narrator. More or less an A.I. holographic of the host of the original Twilight Zone series. He lets every know the bread and butter of a Killing Game: Kill to leave, there’s small devices in your head called C.D.s that will execute you if you break a rule, etc.  Everyone tries to go about their normal day, but since there hasn’t been a murder yet, the mastermind (Researcher) decides to give a motive. It’s the same ol’ “I have someone you care about hostage, kill to save them” motive we all know. But with a twist. For this RP’s gimmick is being able to vote during a motive. Everyone’s hostages were on a time limit, and if they wanted to extend theirs, they could vote someone else’s hostage to get an extension. However, this would cause that hostage to go under some brutal torture such as getting an arm broken. The stress of the potential death of her cousin, Leon, makes Kanon decide to commit a murder. She asks Rod to give her something to make a trap, and she goes to set it up in the cafeteria. However, as she set it up, she gets a surprise intrusion by Izzy, who was sneaking around in the vents. Izzy convinces Kanon not to go through with it and tells her to go back to bed while she disarms the trap. But come morning, when everyone gets into the cafeteria. . . They find Izzy’s dead body, hung upside down by her foot with a broken neck. Naturally, suspicions fall upon Kanon. But she’s proven innocent, so who could’ve killed her? None other than Philip J. Fry. Fry was a case of in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was going to get a midnight snack the night of the murder, and saw Izzy fiddling with the trap Kanon set. The delivery boy misunderstood her intentions, thinking she was the one plotting a murder and was a traitor, so he decided to give her a taste of her own medicine in a way. By using “her own” trap, Fry resets the trap to work again, accidentally setting the winch’s speed to a deadly setting. He then lured her with a fake note to come back to the cafeteria, where she accidentally triggered the trap and was dragged upwards by the snare attached to the winch. Where she hit her head on a construct and broke her neck, dying shortly afterwards. Mostly everyone is reluctant to vote Fry as the killer since he was just trying to stop what he thought was a murder. But the Narrator gave a cruel ultimatum that was part of the motive: The hostages’ lives rest on the outcome of the survivor of the class trial. If the blackened wins, then everyone and their hostages would be executed. But if they snuff out the blackened, only the blackened and their hostage would be executed. After some hesitation and goading from Fry to vote him to save them, Fry is found guilty and soon executed alongside his hostage, Leela. With two people dead, and a new floor opened, everyone tries to get back to their normal lives. And for a time, it was. Until a new motive dropped: If no one kills in three days, then everyone would leave the facility. The twist? They would all be forced into each others’ worlds. They could swap worlds with the vote, but only two people could do so. And with a time limit of three days, that wasn’t enough to try and swap everyone’s worlds back. Even knowing that, Elena was determined to find a way to return everyone’s worlds to their respective owners. However, the King didn’t want to wait. He just wanted his world back. So the very next morning, on the last day of the motive, three people walk up to the second floor to try and get their minds off the motive. That being Parasoul, Snowdrake, and Glitter. They noticed one room, the Gravity Room, has its door ajar, and the gravity on.  They walk over and turn it off. . . And are met with the horrible discovery. Elena’s body, with a massive stab wound going through her back and stomach, come crashing down. What made this more horrifying was the fact she was still alive, but no one in the group could do anything but watch as she goes into shock from bleeding out before she died in front of them. After a long trial, they come down to a culprit. The one who killed Elena in such a gruesome manner. The one who tried to frame Dirk as her culprit. The King. Who wastes no time gloating and laughing in everyone’s faces over his heinous action, and before his death, tried to kill Sam. The one person who tried to believe he could be good. But before he could, he gets dragged to his execution. Said execution left everyone split over whether or not he deserved it or if it was too far. Four of the participants were dead now. 12 remain. But this is Chapter 3. Which means a multiple death is more than expected at this point. And with the motive, that being with every day that passes without a murder, a participant will be mutilated in increasingly worsening manner, it was only a matter of time. Kanon, being the first to be injured, rest in the infirmary to rest. One morning, she wakes up to find. . . the healing machine was back on. The healing machine that was shut off for the motive. She instantly recognized what this meant and told everyone what had happen. The group splits up to go find the bodies. Sam, Ayaka, and Kanon enter the sports center on the third floor and. . . Find the halved body of Crash Man on the gym’s floor, having been cut from his waist and stabbed in the head. But. . . something peculiar is going on. The Body Discovery Announcement hasn’t played. The rules state that when three people find the body, barring the culprit, it’ll play. But it also states it’ll only play when all the bodies have been discovered. Sam, fearing the worse, run out. So who is the second body? Dirk, Arle, and Snowdrake walk into the arcade, which is now a mess littered with burns. And under one of the arcade machines, crushed by its weight, was Dr. Simon Glass. Like Crash Man, he had been murdered. But. . . like Crash Man, something is off still. The BDA still hasn’t played. Why. . . ? Sam, running around, runs into the aquarium. . . And finds exactly why. Because laying on the floor, with a massive bloodstain and hole in her chest, was Parasoul. That’s right. There were three body discoveries in this chapter. Crash Man, Dr. Glass, and Parasoul were all dead. Who? Who did all this? Did someone snap and go on a murderous rampage last night? (TW: Mentions of offing one’s self) . . . Well, not exactly. Because the group find out that the killer (or in this case killers) wasn’t alive anymore. For the culprit who killed Dr. Glass was Crash Man. Crash Man was then killed by Parasoul, who then offed herself. You see, Crash Man killed Glass because during the voting session, he voted for Kanon automatically since he didn’t put in any input. The robot master was already looking for a reason to end the motive, so he offed Dr. Glass by launching an arcade machine at him with his explosion. Parasoul, who was guarding the armory on the same floor, heard the explosion and went to investigate. She caught Crash Man in the middle of it and tried to question him. Crash, still running on the stress, tried to attack and kill her. Parasoul had no choice but to fight him off, using Krieg in defense to cut Crash Man in half before stabbing him in the head with it. Afterwards, Parasoul was initially going to frame Arle for it. But guilt over what she’s done, and not wanting to face execution, she decided to end her own life. The reason why her body was brutalized was because she used a WASP knife she and Arle found in the aquarium to off herself. This would mean no one would be executed. . . but in a horrible twist, the Researcher executed both the blackeneds in this case (Crash Man and Parasoul) anyway, even though they were already dead. (TW end) With that, we are currently on Chapter 4. Nearly half way done with it. When the trials for it get completed, I’ll upload the gifs here too. Hope you like the gifs and sprites I made, and sorry for the long spout of text just now. I’m happy how these came out. Fry was my first one I made as a sort of test too, so it’s probably not that great and I’ve improved some since it I believe.

A Rant on Yandere Simulator

Yandere Simulator; a game that sounds good on paper, but has a crappy game developer that is still in development after 6 years. So, you play as a lovesick girl named Ayano Aishi who wants her “Senpai” all to herself regardless of the cost. I admit that I was fascinated with the concept of the game and is one that I wanted to see succeed and possibly be one of my favorite games alongside the likes of the FNAF series; Undertale; Doki Doki Literature Club! and the like. But...there were several bumps along the way. Well more like a road of bumps and broken glass and nails. 

The game has no identity for one. It was something that gets continually pointed out by others more knowledgeable of gaming aesthetics, but the characters all look the same...which makes sense because Yandere Dev bought the bases for the characters. He claims that he would be changing the style at some point...but he is already knee-deep into his shit that the characters had become too iconic in their current forms so suddenly trying to change them now would only turn some of his fans away. But yes; aside from hair and accessories, each character is indistinguishable. 

Yandere Dev also had stolen the grassy background and did not credit the original artist...something that he is all too comfortable with doing because the accusations keep coming up. This is a problem that had not been resolved in over 6 years and likely will not. 

Ayano herself. For starters, she is not a yandere. A yandere’s character trait is that they start off as loving and character towards their love interest or idol of devotion until they break down mentally and become overprotective of their center of affection, or more likely to commit violent acts. Ayano herself is outright told in the backstory that she was unable to feel any emotion. She would fit more squarely under kuudere where many girls of that trope tend to have little emotion. Aside from that, she comes off as bland. 

Another gripe I have with the game is that aside from its coding issues, Yandere Dev puts in pointless Easter eggs. I mean when Undertale was a big thing, he decides to make a “Sans” suit for Ayano and explains it away as being “essential” to the game. Or there was that time he wanted to dress her up as Saitama, and then in the name of his great wisdom, he put the Titans from Attack on Titan in the game as another Easter egg. This also falls under the blanket term of the game having no identity. Really, Yandere Dev; stop adding in these pointless additions because that is  overloading your game with shit you don’t need. 

Yandere Dev himself is a prick. Like I said, he steals assets and does not credit them. He is a manchild who can’t take constructive criticism like how he held a grudge on the creator of Skullgirls for years because he was upset that his “idol” did not stroke his ego and instead pointed out that he needed to work on his spaghetti code. He treats his fans like crap such as that one time where he made a character to represent the community where he would either bludgeon, abuse, mutilate, or kill her. Instead of creating a different email to serve as “fan mail,” he instead gets pissy whenever someone emails him on how the development of the game’s going. I mean, don’t get me wrong, making a game on your own is time-consuming and difficult...but then you have people like Toby Fox, Scott Cawthon, and Dan Salvato, they finished their games no less of 2-3 years. Yandere Dev spends most of his time streaming or doing anything that does not amount to working on the game. If he does actually, then I would take that back, but I doubt it because he was also known to throw people who tried to help him under the bus.

Then there are the debaucheries: one of the rivals for Senpai’s affection is a teacher who is an ephebophile who openly seduces her male students...you know, something that is illegal? Sure Yandere Dev tried to work around that unethical dilemma by claiming that the characters are all 18, but still, teacher x student relationships are taboo. Need I say that one of Ayano’s rivals is even Senpai’s younger sister? While you can claim that it falls squarely under non-platonic overprotective affection, the game uses several anime tropes and considering how many series center around siscon material, I feel like throwing up.

I...don’t see this game ever getting finished or let alone released. There have since been many factors that have worked against the game’s favor from: bad coding; a lack of identity; morally wrong subject matter; the sheer laziness of the game developer and his inflated ego. If anyone still supports him despite all the morally bankrupt content, I won’t stop you. I do hope that you at least get the game you want, even if it is a sandbox.

Biography Something akin to double in terms of her ability to shape shift. Her form is made up of cosmic matter, she can take any form becoming a perfect replica of any living creature she desires down to the smallest detail.  As a young deity she can be rather playful and jokesteresque and likes to taunt and tease but it remains in good fun rather than in spite or to torment.

She was created to work on the night sky. She forged forfax, at a time she was his host and kept him alive as she worked on bringing light to the planets as the trinity instructed, He was to help keep record of her work. There was a time where she honored her purpose and thought highly and noblelly of the goddess’. But as corruption spread and the faith turned to fear with the creation of the skullheart and their wake of destruction, she turned her back on them and abandoned her position to live among the people. This was treated as an act of defiance rather than a protest. She was left to her own vices as it was seen as a foolish act to live among the common folk as a deity, as they could never understand her and grew to feared her. Her legacy fell into obscurity and those who remembered her, remembered her poorly. The remaining portrayals of her depict her as being cast out by the trinity as the antiangle of darkness. Bringing night as a curse to the people to blind them so she may pray upon them. She freed Forfax from herself so that he wouldn’t be harmed should harm fall upon her. As his mother she couldn’t bare to see him hurt. As a parasite he is bound to his hosts and had to find a new one. This meant leaving her behind for his own survival although he was reluctant to do so. As the calamity fell quiet and her ‘treason’ was forgotten he begun to search for her again. being confined to a host made the quest difficult as most were reluctant to search for the devil that brought the night. Icarus is the first host to actively listen to him and wish to seek her out.

She currently lives as an actress (both movie and musical) with the pseudo name Vedette Orion who’s ‘unique’ ability to change form makes her desirable in the industry. She avoids any question as to how she is capable of this claiming the subject is a rather sensitive one but that she has opted to treat it as a blessing rather than a curse. she refrains from using anything in relation to the trinity such as goddess speed. This is seen as noble since she doesn’t take their name in vain but in reality it is out of spite for their corruption. she wishes to destroy the skull heart to bring peace back to the land and clear the name of atria but she would have to do so undercover as to not rouse suspicions. She wishes that the trinity would return to an era of peace once more so that they can reconcile but for now she accepts her status as the antiangle if it means she is free from the guilt

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I posted anything on Tumblr, but I want you all to know that I’m still alive and well. Aside from that, though, I currently own a laptop and am interested in doing some more writing!

I currently have a profile on Fanfiction.net, under the name “Heronimbus64″, and have a Loud House fanfic that I have been working on. Voices of the FGC: Andre/Dream Boy Purple of Skullgirls Latin American (SG LATAM)

Over the last five years, Skullgirls has been the “Lil’ Darling” of the Indie movement in Fighting Games. It the game that’s thrived when people said it was “dead”, multiple setbacks, from its former publisher, and various other hay-makers that come with its game development. Through all of that though, it has not only survived, but grown. Now as the actual final patch for the game comes out, the current call for the game, it’s a good time to look back and see it lasting effect on the fighting game landscape. I sat down with a friend of mine, Andre/Dream Boy Purple, who was the lead organizer for SG LATAM, a Skullgirls Latin American group, for his thoughts on Skullgirls, its effect on him, and his organization.

Vice’s Assistant: Alright let's start off with your name for the folks who don't know and what you do with Skullgirls?

Andre/Dream Boy Purple: Name is André, well basically I created and have been running SG LATAM a Latin American focused community for Skullgirls, as well as trying to use the group itself as a medium to spread the word of SG on other LATAM communities.

VA: How did you find out about Skullgirls?

Andre: Well, back in the day of 2011, I happened to stumble upon a trailer for Double, a character in the game before the game came out. It honestly left me pretty surprised: just the sight of the animation was pretty cool on itself, but it also looked like a really fun fighting game, especially considering I was into Marvel at the time. It was a no brainer (sic) that I soon got it for the 360 when it released.

VA: And when you first got the game, did it just "click" with you, or did that just come on later down the line?

Andre: Ha ha, that's actually a curious question. When I first got the game, I had my fun with it, but I guess there were a bunch of things that I didn't really enjoy with it. Things like the speed, the constant touch of death combos, the animation having to display the hitboxes for it to run smoothly, and even the netcode even though it was still rollback. It was in a rougher state than the one we have now, I endend (sic) up playing it casually during that time and no thinking much about it.

VA: After you spent time with it though, when did things start to feel like "I really dig this game"?

Andre: That was way down the line, after the whole fiasco with Reverge Labs having to dismantle and reform into Lab Zero, and the launching of their crowdfunding campaign. I started to take interest in the game again after all there were a lot of things that were issues of mine adressed (sic) on the game since then like the speed or balance patches (we didn't get those on the 360 at the time sadly), plus new characters and a PC port after hearing that I made up my mind of giving the game a second chance and ended up falling in love with it then.

VA: Nice. I kind of started to dig the game after I've spent time with a few months later. Skullgirls was my "burnout" game after I would do long sets in SSF IV AE. After a while started fooling around with Fortune and started to realized I like her rush down stuff...even though I was probably abusing some of her nasty damage stuff she had in Vanilla Skullgirls.

Andre: Yeah, damage was kinda ridiculous in vainilla (sic) I remember seeing some videos of Severin back in the day of him killing characters anywhere on the screen with just one bar.

Couldn’t find a combo of Severine killing with one bar but here’s a 100% combo. These were common (and annoying) in Vanilla Skullgirls.

VA: I couldn't do that kind of stuff, and still can't, but I remember basically using the head to trip someone, going to rekkas, blockbuster. It was super easy to do and boy howdy you could get some nice chunks of damage off.

Moving forward, what in you decided that you wanted to foster your local community to get more people into the game?

Andre: Well when I really started to get into the game once again I started wanting to play more against people and Quick Match did only so much. So I searched around forums and Facebook groups for a LATAM community only to find out there were really none. I found a couple that talked about the game, it's (sic) lore, and played casually but not really one focused to compete with each other. So I quickly took action into it. After all if you want something done you should do it yourself. I created a very basic logo in PS and started a FB group which I tried to promote constantly to friends and in FGC groups. Thinking back to it, it was probably annoying for them to see me do that but I was determined. Ha ha.

VA: Since starting it, how has thing’s gone?

Andre: Well it has been growing pretty nicely and steadily. We're around 600-700 unique members between the FB, Discord, and Steam groups. The Discord is pretty active every day and people are constantly talking and playing on it. We got an actual logo for our group and not just a photoshopped SG logo. We have done plenty of tournaments now under the name "Trifulca en el Ring" with custom flyers for each edition. We've also since have partnered up with Arcade Rumble (a FGC Latin American group) and they have helped us do things like have better production streams, bigger audience to announce our stuff, and in ocassions (sic) even give out money prizes for our tournaments.

VA: Beyond just the SG LA community, how do you think Skullgirls has grown within the last 5 years? The prevailing joke is "Skullgirls is dead," but the truth is the opposite: Skullgirls is one of Steam's best selling fighting games (CORRECTION: Skullgirl is not one Steam’s best selling fighting games, far from it, but there are a lot more people who have then you think) , showings a plenty tournies, and even a "mini" convention at AX in Phoenix, AZ  (Correction AX is in Los Angeles, California, not Phoenix, AZ).

Andre: The SGC (Skullgirls Community) has grown a lot, right now we have things like the Skullgirls Tour which is basically or own version of CPT or KI's world cup with 12 tournaments both offline and online. A lot of people have also joined through the PC community, thanks to it being a complete steal at just 15 bucks for the game, having one of the if not the smoothest online in a fighting game beautiful animation, great gameplay, and the low specs it has. You see new people trying out the game constantly, be it the Skullheart* or Steam forums, as well as in the SG LATAM community. We get people who are new all the time and it also helps the abundance of helpful people and events that are run online by the community. Things like Skullbats, Monday Night Blockbusters, SG Brazil weeklies, and even our own "Trifulca en el Ring" series just goes to show that SG was never or ever will be dead. You'll always have people to play with, you just gotta look for them.

VA: With the last patch finally out, do you feel the game has finally reached its ideal state? Or are there things to feel still need worked on?

Andre: Well considering how Mike Z is, he will always find something to work on, but as it stands, the game is really balanced to the point where tier list are pretty universaly (sic) thought as a matter of opinion, and even then there isn't that much of a diff (sic) from the bottom to the top. Considering SG is pretty unique with it's (sic) focus on resets, I think in it's (sic) current state it will pass the test of time just fine.

VA: What do you think Skullgirls' lasting legacy will be?

Andre: That a community and it's game can last and grow as long as they keep pouring love into it. There's only so many big tournaments for SG (biggest being Combo Breaker) since the whole EVO ordeal of 2013, and barely losing to Smash SG hasn't really been a mainstream fighting game at all. Which to my eyes only makes more impressive what it has been able to acomplish (sic) thanks to the developer support and the constant effort by the community to run events; making tech, helping the devs find bugs, the community being so inclusive. I think SG will still be played many years from now, and until the eventual SG 2, I doubt the constant income of players will slow down anytime soon.

VA: Finally, do you have any advice for people still timid about getting into Skullgirls?

Andre: Well SG is a fighting game, and like any of them, it's not easy to get to certain competitive level. That's the first fact that you have to accept but there's so many resources and people willing to help: on Discord and the Skullheart forums as well as groups targeted towards new players that you'll have people around your level to play against. A lot of people get discouraged because they jump online first thing, and they get massacred since SG is a fast game, and also focused heavily on resets. Even people with past fighting game experience have a hard time when they first play against experienced people, but it really doesn't take that long to get the hang of it, and SG having such an amazing training mode also helps. To sum it up, I know it may seem overwhelming now, but there's so many people willing to help you, and it really is worth it to form (sic) part of such an amazing community.

As I’m sure many others do, I often imagine myself in various forms of fiction.  Some series are better for this than others, some are specifically designed with this concept in mind where there could be many potential “main characters” out in the world and we just so happen to focus on this one particular person for this story, while other worlds have their protagonist and... that’s it, they’re special and they’re the protagonist and that’s all there really is to say on the matter.  At this point I really have two specific self-inserts that I consider for any given scenario.

The first of these self-inserts is the Homestuck self-insert I RP’d for quite a few years.  Played the game SBURB which destroy’s the players’ world with the chance to create a new universe should they manage to win.  The game gives the players a variety of tools and powers with which to succeed.  This Thomas DID eventually succeed alongside his friends despite some critical issues with their session and the need of outside assistance from at least one OTHER session.  He’s a Doc of Hope meaning he can use Hope to heal as well as heal Hope, making him an effective support to just about anyone and something of an ultimate comeback mechanic when need be.  Outside of his primary ability he can also fly, has conditional immortality (can be killed in a heroic or just manner, but otherwise will revive if killed in any other way and won’t die naturally) and his primary tool is the Fully Armed Mega Buster which is basically just Mega Man’s Mega Buster but with all of the special weapons from the classic series.  I typically envision this iteration of myself for fictional worlds where “Creator of another reality coming to visit” isn’t a completely ridiculous scenario, such as with DC comics or Touhou or something.  Worlds where the power scale tends to go completely bonkers.

Then there is Amoeba Guy.  This iteration can have a couple different origin stories attached.  Maybe his powerset is genetic, like Marvel’s X-men or Inumans, or the quirks from My Hero Academia.  Maybe it was a result of some sort of scientific experiment.  Or maybe extradimensional tourists ran over him while transporting from one dimension to the next, ripping his physical form from the normal laws of reality and drastically altering his entire being.  Either way, he’s a hive mind of amoeba now, with the ability to change his shape, size, and mass at will.  Since he doesn’t have any organs or bones or even a brain, things like punches or slices or gunshots doesn’t do any real damage to him.  Oh sure, you can put holes in him or make him fall to pieces in a cartoonish fashion, but thanks to his shapeshifting abilities he’ll be back up in no time in an equally cartoonish fashion.  Thanks to his entire body being used as a brain it can also be difficult to use mind abilities on him as well.  Of course, with this much power he has to have some weaknesses.  2.5 weaknesses to be exact.  Extreme heat can make it difficult to sustain any particular form, and his cells can suffer extreme burns making them useless.  Extreme cold can make it difficult to change form, which is bad since literally any movement is a change of form for him.  Finally, his greatest weakness is electricity.  Since his entire body is his brain, electrical currents can severely mess up the transmission of messages throughout his being, and even a small shock can potentially drop him to the floor as a shapeless mass.  Alongside the previously discussed Marvel Universe and MHA, I tend to consider Amoeba Guy when the universe is good for silly cartoony heroes like Skullgirls for example.

I guess a consistent thematic for both of these guys is durability and versatility.  Amoeba Thomas is extremely resilient to most things, and Homestuck Thomas has incredible healing abilities, both to others and himself.  Meanwhile Amoeba Thomas’s ability to change his shape size and mass at will allows him to become nearly anything a situation may require, and Homestuck Thomas’s Fully Armed Mega Buster has a wide range of projectiles that can solve a large number of circumstances.  However, an area where both of these characters generally lack is raw power.  Sure, they can have their moments, if Homestuck Thomas heal the Hope for a situation, allowing a previous unwinnable encounter to become possible, this could translate to an immensely powerful attack, among other things, but that’s a pretty specific scenario and can’t just be used whenever.  Meanwhile, Amoeba Thomas could increase his size and mass to “Go big” as it were, but that’s generally going to be way inefficient and not nearly as immediate of a strength boost as most other super individuals dedicated to such a powerset would have.  There is, of course, the focus on support.  Homestuck Thomas is straight-up a healer, you don’t get much more support than that, and while Amoeba Thomas isn’t a healer, his shapeshifting does leave great potential for supporting others who might need something.

Fanfic commisions (really Tumblr? there were only THREE TAGS left!)

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I posted anything on Tumblr, but I want you all to know that I’m still alive and well. Aside from that, though, I currently own a laptop and am interested in doing some more writing!

I currently have a profile on Fanfiction.net, under the name “Heronimbus64″, and have a Loud House fanfic that I have been working on. I come up with stories fairly often, plenty of which have been used in projects on the Fantendo wiki, hosted by Fandom/Wikia. Lately, however, there have been times where I don’t feel like writing very much, and I really want to get back into that.

So, I will be accepting fanfiction commisions, because I think something like that can benefit both parties in this scenario – you can enjoy a story of your liking written by a young writer with plenty of experience in the field (me!), and I can use these stories to get me back into the swing of things and also make some pretty good money off of it.
