so am writing essay thing on dissection I did last year (yeah... oh well) and I couldn’t remember that the liver was the liver so I’m looking at the picture of toad’s innards and am like, it looks like part of an artichoke, so I googled, ‘what is the artichoke thing in a frog’ and only like food came up? so I had to ask my mother.

Words such as, “like,” “basically,” “um,” and etc are called crutch words! They should mostly be avoided in formal writing (as filler words). However, when listing examples, “like” is used when only one example is listed, but “such as” is used when 2+ examples are given.
