Dukexiety + “Are we on a date right now?”

It started with little things, Remus opening the door for him when they got to the cafe, him paying for their coffee and treats, and even pulling out his chair for him when they sat down. Strange behavior for him, sure, but Virgil knew that Remus did have his days where he liked doing nice things for other people. 

It didn’t really click until Remus reached across the table to take his hand, giving Virgil a very uncharacteristically shy look, and Virgil felt his mind come to a halt. “Remus... Are we on a date right now?”

Remus blinked once, twice, looking at him a little confused. “I thought that was obvious.I told you I love spending time with you and asked if you wanted to get coffee.”

 “But you didn’t say -” Virgil’s words were cut off.

“Is this okay? That this is a date?” Remus asked, starting to pull his hand back, but Virgil quickly tightened his grip.

He gave a short nod once, before again, slower, a little smile spreading across his face. “Yeah... Yeah. This is more than okay.” 

The smile Remus graced him with warmed him thoroughly, and he had to look away, cheeks warming up in a pleasant way.

Characters: Patton/Deceit (Mostly Platonic. Could be seen as the start of something romantic)

Ok. So Patton was alone in the elevator with the new guy. The new guy with the GIANT scar over his face. The new guy with the GIANT scar over his face with a thousand rumors surrounding him about how he got said scar.

Patton didn’t really like listening to rumors. But rumors had to come from somewhere, right? And all of Deceit’s rumors had something to do with him being really violent.

A scoff brought Patton back to the real world “Will you calm down? I’m not gonna hurt you, ok?”

Patton looked down at the floor sheepishly. Had his fear really been so obvious?

“God, does everyone at this place just believe every rumor they hear?”

“I-I try not to…”

“Yeah, and I try to make friends. Look where that got me.”

“It’s just...your scar-”

“I promise you, every story you heard about my scar is made up.”

“Then how did you get it?”

Patton saw a teeny bit of pink in the new guy’s cheeks “You’ll laugh.”

“I promise I won’t”

“I ran... into... a tree branch.”

Patton covered his mouth

“You’re laughing.”

“I promised I wouldn’t.”

“You want to laugh though, don’t you?”

“Maybe...a teeny tiny bit.”

The man sighed “It happened the evening before my first day. I was so embarrassed, I thought that I was gonna laughed at. But no, it’s a thousand times worse and I got deemed this villain with a tragic backstory. But I’m not a villain. I’m just a dumbass.”

“You just ran into something. I run into stuff all the time.”

“Yeah, I’ve seen you around. You’re kinda a dumbass too.”

“Hey!”

“I say it with love.”

Patton rolled his eyes “I’m Patton.”

“...Dee.”

“Well Dee, looks like we both succeeded.”

“Succeeded in what?”

“I succeeded in not listening to rumors and you succeeded in making a friend.” He smiled “This is my stop. See ya around.” And he waved as the elevator doors closed, leaving Dee all alone to be positively flustered.

Favorite thing about them - His empathy. He cares so much about everyone and he really, honestly, and truly wants nothing more than for everyone to be happy.

Least favorite thing about them - He seems to immediately dismiss a “dark” side’s suggestion on the basis that there’s no way they may want what’s best for Thomas, and while they should almost never be completely listened (as in, Thomas should never take 100% of their advice in any given situation) completely disregarding/repressing them is also a bad idea.

Unpopular opinion - Patton having made mistakes in the past that have recently come to light does not make him any more or less “problematic” than the other sides, who have ALSO all made mistakes in the past and make them now, and while I’m all for exploring “problematic” character traits for whatever reason you want through fanfiction, I consider the sudden wave of negativity towards the character in general to be a bit unwarranted (not saying you personally can’t be upset or even triggered by his actions, just that the overall, widespread backlash is, in my eyes, a bit much)

🤷 What thing that your fandom loves do you just not “get”?  Probably get me ostracized from the LoT fandom, but never quite understood the nonstop love for rogue canary, especially Snart and Rory. I could handle it in the first season and I enjoyed them too, but not five seasons down the road.

Warnings: Deceit mention. Roman and Virgil aren’t...mean to each other exactly. Just a lot of teasing. Tell me if I missed something.

Characters: Roman/Patton/Virgil (can be thought of as Platonic or Romantic anything)

A shrieking cry coming from Patton’s room made Virgil bolt across the house and burst in. “PATTON! PATTON WHAT’S WRONG?”

“THAT’S EXACTLY IT! I’M PATTON!”

“What? Pat, you’re scaring me. What’s wrong?”

“I’m not SUPPOSED to be Patton!”

“What are you talking about?”

‘Roman’ knocked on the open door with his knuckles “Uh...kiddos? I don’t think that was fruit punch in the fridge. Logan had mentioned something about a new experiment. Sorry Ro, but I think we kinda got mixed up.”

Another shriek came from ‘Patton’ “WE SWAPPED BODIES!?!”

Virgil flinched “You have GOT to stop shrieking. Patton in distress is literally the worst sound ever.”

“Oh, and it isn’t when it’s me in distress?”

“You shriek when your seams are unaligned, I’m kinda used to it by now.” Virgil smirked at ‘Patton’, but it faltered.

“Aw, what? Can’t be mean to me when I look like Padre? Does this mean I-”

“Don’t use my body for evil.”

“It’s not evil. It’s a loving teasing kind of relationship…”

‘Roman’ lifted an eyebrow at ‘Patton’.

“Yeah, I’m not as good at the dad glare.” Despite this, ‘Patton’ reeled himself back a bit. “So can Logan fix this?”

“Yeah, I’ve been texting him. He says he’s been working on an anecdote and he can finish it up when he gets home tonight. And he told me to tell you to just sit tight and not pull any pranks like he knows you want to do.”

“Aw come on. Can’t we at least show Dee? I want him to know that he’s not the only one who can disguise himself now?”

Virgil scoffed “Yeah because I want Deceit to know that a body-swapping elixir exists.”

‘Patton’ huffed and sat down on Patton’s bed “Fine. Fine. Just let the best acting opportunity ever handed to us go to waste.”

“Ok I will”

Arranged Marriage AU

1. It’s Victorian Era. Rip is recently widowed and has a son Jonas, Gideon is becoming a ‘spinster’ and so he marries her for someone to look after Jonas.

2. Rip is Captain of the Navy, he’s away a lot and whenever he comes back, his first priority is Jonas. And he’s pleased to see that it’s Gideon’s as well.

3. They fall for each other slowly. Little things like how Rip always cooks when he’s home even though ‘it’s a woman’s job’ or how Gideon always stays up after he’s put Jonas to bed so that she can keep him company as he eats.

4. Some of the townspeople gossip about how Gideon hasn’t given Rip a child yet, so really, what good of a wife is she? Rip brandishes his sword and shuts them up.

5. All of Rip’s flirting and wooing attempts are absolute failures. He gets her flowers, she’s allergic. He tries to help her out in her workshop, he accidentally injures her with a tool and now she needs stitches. He plans a romantic picnic on a boat to stargaze, she gets seasick. But Gideon falls in love with him because he’s a good man that never stops trying.

And they live happily ever after
