Tumblr media
You turn off the camera on the nightstand, your breath still not back to its normal rate. Your legs aren’t quite tired, despite the back to back orgasms you forced upon yourself - all for the sake of your content.
You won’t lie though, opening an OnlyFans account after the grand success of your Twitter nsfw account (thanks to Seungcheol and his openness to your sexual endeavors) was one of the best decisions you could have made.
You have managed to make a few more bucks and it has made your everyday life and content creating much easier.
But it has also made Seungcheol more….impatient.
“I cannot believe you still want to make solo content when I am right here,” Seungcheol huffs in annoyance, “How do these toys even satisfy you?”
“Don’t worry, Cheol - I still adore your big, fat cock and anything else on your body that can be used to fuck me,” You wink at him and stretch your legs to clean up your lower half, a low hiss escaping your lips, “Besides, I need to make content for my account - more content, more money!”
“I mean, sure….” He walks over to your desk and looks at the various toys with disdain, “But seriously? These?”
“Seungcheol, we are not going to discuss this again!” You scoff at him.
“Yes, we will,” Seungcheol picks up your pink glittery silicone dildo, “Cute, but boring.”
“Fuck you, that was my first ever toy!” You whine in protest.
“Still boring. Next,” he picks up the all too familiar neon tentacle dildo, “Literally a personal attack.”
“But that was the reason you showed me your own tentacles the first time we met.”
“Hm, fair enough, but it will never be the real thing.”
“Ugh, just move on already!”
“This one seems interesting,” Seungcheol looks at the deep red colored, knotted dildo with curiosity, “But nowhere near close to mine.”
“It was perfect for the Halloween theme! Werewolves during their rut are hot, especially when they are all about breed-”
“Moving on,” he clears his throat and stops at the last toy - an extra large, horse cock shaped dildo, “Is this your new toy, darling?”
“Indeed, it was my newest purchase for my Halloween video,” you cross your arms in front of your chest, “It was a popular request from my audience.”
“Yeah, you made quite the show earlier,” he licks his lips, “Emptied the entire cumtube with that one.”
“Aww, you’re jealous!” You giggle as you swipe the towel over your pussy.
“Yeah, I’m really fucking jealous, Y/N.” Seungcheol drops the toy on the desk and climbs over you, “I am jealous of the fact that I have a hot girl dressed like a succubus right in front of me, all prepped up to take whatever I can give her, but she prefers fake toys over me.”
“You’re really hot when you’re mad, Kraken.” You bite your bottom lip.
“You’re really arousing when you’re being bratty, doll.” He grins like an imp.
“Am I really bratty right now?” You press your lips in a pout.
“The brattiest little sex demon I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Seungcheol kisses you with the fervor of a starved animal, messily swirling his tongue inside your mouth. Silently watching you record a video for your account has made him extremely impatient, extremely horny and most of all, extremely mad.
“Mmf- Hah, Cheol,” you slightly push him back with giggles, “Slow down, you fucker!”
“No can do, doll.” He grabs your wrist with his hand and snaps his fingers with the other, two tentacles ripping the fabric of his shirt and appearing from his back. He effortlessly commands them to wrap around your wrists and keep them pinned above your head.
“Not the tentacles- Hey, stop cheating!” You attempt to fight back, but the slimy appendages are way stronger than you.
“All is fair in love, sex and war.” Seungcheol chuckles as he rips his t-shirt to reveal the rest of his upper body.
“That’s what you said the first time we fucked.” You grumble.
“Oh, so you remember. Guess you didn’t fuck yourself completely stupid with those ugly toys.” He grips the back of your thighs and pushes them flat on your chest, getting a full view of your exposed holes. His eyes narrow down at your rim, adorned with a devil tail butt plug.
“Even a devil tail plug?”
“What’s the point of cosplaying if it’s not accurate?” You smirk.
“Just say you wanted something to fill your greedy holes.” He snaps his fingers again and two more tentacles wrap around your ankles, stretching your legs to their maximum capacity.
He uses his thumbs to spread your lower lips and plays around with your hole, making you whimper. More of the fake cum you used earlier gushes out of your hole and Seungcheol grimaces.
“Just how much of that shitty stuff did you use?” He slides his middle and ring finger inside your pussy, pumping them slowly to push out more cum.
“As m-much as I wanted to!” You arch your back, “Why are you so mad about it?!”
“I’m mad because I want to fuck you so bad until you pass out.” The blond man nearly moans, his hands now untying the string of his sweatpants, sliding them down along with his boxers.
“You see this, doll?” Seungcheol wraps his hand around his cock, “It’s all your fault, all because of your little show and that fucking costume,” he hungrily eyes the leather micro skirt that you deliberately pulled higher on your body, the leather harness around your tits and the black sheer thigh high stockings, “It’s driving me insane.”
“Why don’t you stick your thick, meaty cock in my cute little pussy, then?” You use your cute voice on purpose, “You cleaned me inside out just to fill me up with your own, real cum, didn’t you, Daddy?”
You notice how hard he’s entertaining the possibility you’re presenting him and you mentally run victory laps when you see his composure fall apart even more. Alas, your moment of triumph is short-lived when you see him snap his fingers again, summoning more tentacles.
“As much as I want to give in to your words, you must be taught a lesson, little brat.” He climbs directly over your torso, the tip of his cock ghosting your lips.
You cry out when multiple tentacles target your pussy, one circling your clit and and two more thrusting inside you. Your mouth is agape, arousal clouding your senses.
“Fuuuuck, they feel so good, Daddy.” You say with a lewd voice.
“You look just like a hentai girl right now,” Seungcheol grips your hair, “And I am so ready to fuck your mouth like one.”
He pushes his cock in your mouth and knocks the breath out of your lungs. His sheer size makes you gag almost violently, to the point he has to pull back and let you breathe.
“Ha, hah, fuck, warn a woman before sticking it in!” You complain.
“Aw, the camgirl is struggling to suck a cock?” He fake coos at you, “What a crying shame.”
“C-Can you at least not try to kill me?”
He gently runs the back of his hand over your cheek.
“I would never.”
Seungcheol carefully slides his cock back in your mouth, slowly guiding your head over the shaft. Searing hot tears stream down your face as you slobber all over his length, your limbs going numb from being stretched out for so long and your throat seems to follow suit, with all the effort you’re putting in to not choke on the man’s dick.
He thrusts his hips forward at a steady pace, enjoying the sight of your cheeks covered in tears, hollowing to suck him off harder.
“You’re trying so hard, it’s almost adorable.” He takes out his cock again to slap the tip over your cheeks
“I hate you.” You sob, struggling to keep your thoughts from scattering all over the place.
“Keep telling yourself that.” He smirks and threads both of his hands in your hair, using it as leverage to fuck your face.
The tentacles that were binding your ankles now move right under your knees to let the blood flow down again, but the tentacles occupying your pussy are as relentless as ever. Your walls clench around them as if a real cock was stretching you out, pounding you into next week.
Your whiny moans are muffled thanks to Seungcheol drilling his shaft down your throat, trying to let him know that you’re getting closer to your orgasm.
“You’re close, aren’t you, doll?” He asks you as he pulls out again, letting you breathe and cry out in pleasure.
“Yes, yes, please Cheollie, please make me cum, please!” You whimper, begging him to do as you want.
“I said that you need to be taught a lesson.” He reprimands you and gets up from the bed to move between your legs again, right where his tentacles are still ramming inside you.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry, I won’t ignore you again, I promise!” You admit out loud, your nails digging in your palms.
“Apology accepted. But I’m still not going to stick my thick, meaty cock in your cute little pussy and fuck you, doll.” Seungcheol wraps his hand around his cock to pump himself, a string of curses and groans spilling from his lips. With another snap of his fingers, all of the tentacles are pulled away and he’s back to looking like a normal human again.
“No! Please, I was almost there!” You scream at him and writhe on the bed, your orgasm slowly ebbing away.
He throws your legs over his shoulders and shuts you up with his right palm pushed flush on your lips, folding you in half.
“I said I won’t fuck you. I never said I wouldn’t fill you up with some real cum.”
You look at him with shock when he slams his cock inside you and he finally cums, spilling every single drop he was holding this entire time. Your thighs shake harder than they did during your filming and your eyes nearly roll in the back of your skull.
“Ah, fuck….” he moans loudly, “Missed that so fucking bad.”
You gently push Seungcheol’s hand away to take deep breaths, your mind still blank from the sensory overload. As soon as he pulls out and his cum flows out, you gasp and start rubbing your clit in rapid circles.
“Doll-”
“Shut up.” You hiss, continuing to rub your cunt and reach your climax. Two harsh slaps on top of your clit are enough to make you squirt all over the sheets, juices coating your asscheeks and inner thighs.
Seungcheol watches you with amusement as your body rests on the ruined mattress, still in the post-sex daze.
“You never cease to amaze me, Y/N.” He lies down next to you.
“I know,” you chuckle, “I’m amazed too.”
He rolls on his side to grab your face with his hand and press a chaste kiss on your mouth, but you slap his chest playfully.
“My little hentai girl.”
“Jesus, stop with that stupid nickname!” You hide your face behind your palms.
“Why?” He pries your hands apart, “I think it suits you.”
“You’re so dumb.”
“Admit it, you enjoy being called that, deep down.”
“Someone is a little too obsessed with the idea.”
“I’m obsessed with you, Y/N.”
You grin widely at him.
“Likewise, hentai lover.”

OK, but the way the red suit is also a metaphor for Edward.
Let me explain, Jim says that by taking the suit Stede has invited the devil in their lives without thinking about the crew. During the wedding raid, Edward calls himself "The Devil" and he has also been invited into the crews life against their wishes.
Stede is perfectly comfortable wearing the red suit and enjoys being Edward's company. He's more than willing to ignore The Curse™ along with the horrible things that Ed did to the crew, expecting everyone to accept Edward's Not-An-Actual-Apology and allow him back on board even though they all just voted him off the ship.
Izzy explains to Stede that the curse is a curse because it effects the crew and their ability to be comfortable on the ship. Which is bitter sweet since he has to create a fictional event to cope with the less of his leg and force himself to be comfortable on the ship even when it's housing his abuser and the abuser of several of his crew members.
Despite Izzy's warning, Stede counties to not only keep the suit but to flaunt it every moment it, showing it off even while aware that it makes the crew feel unsafe. Like wise, instead of making Edward make amends with the crew, he puts some eye and ear grabbing accessories on Edward and says to just "fit in better" and that people will eventually feel comfortable around him again, not actually addressing the problem and instead insisting it will go away on it's own.
The crew attempts to rip the suit from Stede, much like half of them tried to kill Edward when he finally went too far. The suit escapes damaged and Izzy gives Stede the good old "I told you so".
Stede is eventually forced to confront the crew and with Izzy's guidance makes a passing apology where he acknowledges that ignoring their feeling was fucked up and that there is validity to their experiences even if they aren't his own. (after all, to him, Edward has been a sweetheart. After all, the suit hasn't done anything to harm him. He's in love with the suit, it's beautiful and comfortable and fun.)
Stede gives the suit away but keeps the shirt. Perhaps suggesting that Stede will step up as a boyfriend and help Edward process his actions and feelings beyond telling him to fit in more and as captain hold him accountable for what he did during the kraken-era beyond putting him in a cat bell.
And after all the trauma, violence, and pain has been exercised, the crew will be able to be comfortable around Ed, accepting the fine fabric of the suits under shirt is perhaps accepting the red heart that beats under all the smudged coal of the kraken.

For allo
A kitchen hidden away and set in a more secretive part of the hadal back site. A hoodies figure is walking about sorting throughout items and spices seemingly absorbed into his work.
His hands are nimble and gentle when picking or setting and his tail and wings indicate he's isn't human anymore. Is he trustworthy ? Or is he an enemy ?
Do you approach?
=================================
For dr.kraken
He was stationed in his usual spot working away in the lab he pretty much claimed it for himself. He didn't like working with anyone and he certainly wouldn't like someone like you walking in to order him around .
His tendrils whipped about the room to grab what he needed gasping items or tools to get his work done. A sadistic glee shining in his eyes.
Do you choose to be civil ? Or snippy ?
===============================
Bad end allo
Shifting in the encloser of his cell a massive creature stared at the doorway that was the only access to the cramped space. Hollowed glowing eyes staring forward at the cursed opening. He didn't like being trapped . He hated it actually he wanted this to end - who was he ? That caught him off guard....who was he ??.....
He stopped thinking when he snapped his head and stared down at the person that dared enter the cell he was trapped in. A snarl ripping through his throat
(for mini bad end picture he was cat sized and your expendable / entity runs across him in the halls because he escaped )
===============================
Bad end Dr.kraken
You were running down the halls shaking and panting as the second breeched happen (your either a scientist or expandable ) shaking as nee entities or old ones captured were out again and causing havoc.
You turned and tried to run avoiding anything but stopped with wide eyes as before you stood a large albino like creature with a razor sharp smile.
Do you flee ? Or beg?

So I’m loving season two. Like, a lot. I told my housemate who didn’t, for some reason, stay up until 2:01 in the morning to watch episodes four and five as they dropped that they were the best damn television I’ve ever enjoyed, and I stand by that! But there’s something bothering me, and I know I’m not alone in this:
Izzy’s been accepted into the Revenge crew and Ed hasn’t, and that doesn’t feel fair. (I’m not talking about whether or not it’s right, okay? That’s a whole different ramble. This is about feelings!)
OFMD emphasizes the importance of community—of finding people who will accept you for who you are, of belonging to something. Season one focused on Stede creating something kinder than your traditional macho, hyper-violent pirate community on the Revenge, as well as on Ed realizing that he wants in on that.
(And Ed does try to get in on that! After he thinks Stede has abandoned him—and after he gets the initial breakup moping out of the way—he turns to the crew. He likes being Ed; he wants to learn how to be Ed even without Stede in the picture, and he thinks that Ed could have a place in the community that Stede left behind. No, that community isn’t a fix for all of his issues; he’s still troubled. He’s not better, but he wants to get better. Izzy’s confrontation—you’re better off dead than like this, you’d better watch your fucking step—is the spark that ignites the powder keg that is Ed’s unresolved trauma. In the wake of this, the crew chanting and calling for “Eddie” to give them another song sounds like mockery. It sounds like hostility, and Ed only knows how to respond to hostility with violence. That violence destroys the community that could have supported Ed as he healed.)
In season two, Izzy is straight up bullied into the community that Stede brought about. He doesn’t want to be there. He doesn’t deserve to be there, but this isn’t about what Izzy deserves: it’s about how the crew thinks people should be treated.  It’s about showing love to people who have messed up even if they aren’t sorry and tell you to fuck off. And I think that’s lovely! Izzy’s fun when he’s a playful asshole and not actively harmful like he was in season one. Rehabilitating that angry chihuahua into something that won’t bite anyone’s hand off is very sweet.
But wow, it hurts to see Ed banished from the community that took Izzy in.
And to be fair, I don’t blame the crew. They had very different relationships to Izzy and Ed in season one: Izzy was an asshole who bossed them around, and Ed was someone they accepted as a friend. In season two, Ed is the monster who terrorized them and Izzy is just another victim. I get it!
And, like… I don’t hate Izzy. If I hadn’t watched season one, I’d probably even like season two Izzy. He’s pathetic and wet and hilarious. But I remember the way Izzy lied to Ed, insulted him, undermined him, betrayed Stede, bought Ed, and ultimately threatened Ed right back into the only defense he knows. No, Izzy isn’t solely responsible for the Kraken’s reign of terror—Ed is troubled, he has a fuckton of issues and trauma to work through—but Izzy bears some blame! And honestly? Even with all of that, I’m tempted to be okay with season two Izzy. He is at least aware of his role in the disaster that was the Kraken era, and subtly took accountability for it. That’s very cool, but it still doesn’t feel great, you know?
It doesn’t feel great because Izzy did absolutely nothing to get where he is. He didn’t become some kind of benevolent protector of the crew between seasons one and two; he didn’t try to become a part of this community that he scoffed at in the first season. He was rehabilitated, not redeemed.
It doesn’t feel great because Ed still isn’t welcome and he’s trying. Yeah, okay that silly not-quite-an-apology speech that Stede absolutely made up for him wasn’t all that great, but it was more of an attempt than Izzy’s made! And Ed has made himself intensely vulnerable in meeting the terms of his probation. He has agreed to get rid of his armor and his ability to move undetected. He’s trying to physically repair the ship that he damaged. He’s welcoming retributive justice, which is kind of fucked up (and, as Lucius found out, not always that helpful), but it’s the best he has.
(I think it’s important that the only instance of anyone actually apologizing with words—outside of Stede to Ed when he thought Ed was dead—is when Ed is fishing with Fang. Pirates don’t really apologize with words, they make things even by getting revenge. It’s violence for violence. Something about how Ed’s apologizing for an emotional wrong here, something about a budding friendship between Ed and Fang, something something.)
What am I getting at? I don’t fucking know. I don’t blame the crew for domesticating Izzy against his will while turning away from Ed based on what they saw and went through. I’m just sad for Ed. I want him to have the love and support of a community that accepts him as he wants to be, not as who he thinks he has to be to keep from drowning.
A teeny little addition, because I totally neglected to say this: I'm not at all worried about whether or not all of this will be wrapped up by the end of the season. We've still got three episodes to go! This is just a thing that's been gnawing away at my brain.
Anyway, here’s some neat meta that’s written way better than whatever the hell this is:
How Izzy’s whole thing isn’t really about Izzy by forpiratereasons
No, really, it's not about Izzy by asneakyfox
Delicious meta about Izzy’s “redemption” arc by asneakyfox

Deep dives into folklore: Sea monsters
Tumblr media
The vast and mysterious expanses of the world's oceans have long captured the human imagination. Throughout history, sailors and storytellers have shared tales of monstrous creatures lurking beneath the waves. These sea monsters, both mythical and literary, have evolved over time, reflecting the changing beliefs, fears, and knowledge of the societies that created them. This week we explore the fascinating evolution of sea monsters in literature and mythology, from their ancient origins to their modern interpretations.
The concept of sea monsters dates back to some of the earliest civilizations, such as the Sumerians and ancient Egyptians. In their mythologies, these cultures often depicted sea serpents and other monstrous beings as guardians of the underworld or as symbols of chaos and destruction. One of the earliest recorded sea monsters is the Babylonian dragon-god Tiamat, a primeval chaos monster who embodied the sea.
In Greek mythology, the sea monster Scylla, with her multiple heads and writhing tentacles, was feared by sailors who navigated the Strait of Messina. Scylla represented the dangers of the sea, as well as the unpredictable and uncontrollable forces of nature that ancient seafarers had to contend with.
During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, sea monsters took on a more symbolic and allegorical role in literature and art. The medieval bestiaries, encyclopedic collections of animal descriptions, often included fantastical sea creatures with moral lessons attached to them. These creatures were seen as manifestations of sin, temptation, and the unknown.
One of the most famous sea monsters of this period was the Kraken, a colossal cephalopod said to terrorize sailors off the coast of Norway. The Kraken embodied the fear of the deep sea and the dangers that awaited those who ventured too far from shore. It was also a metaphor for the vast, uncharted territories of the ocean.
The Age of Exploration in the 16th and 17th centuries brought about a new wave of sea monster lore. As European sailors ventured into uncharted waters, their accounts of strange and terrifying creatures fueled the imaginations of writers and readers alike. These tales often blended fact with fiction, as sailors encountered real but unfamiliar marine life, such as giant squids, which contributed to the mythos of sea monsters.
One of the most famous literary sea monsters is Captain Ahab's nemesis, Moby Dick, from Herman Melville's novel of the same name. Although Moby Dick is a sperm whale rather than a mythical creature, the obsessive pursuit of this massive white whale symbolized humanity's struggle against nature and the perils of obsession.
In the modern era, our understanding of the ocean and its inhabitants has deepened through scientific discovery. As a result, sea monsters have evolved from mythical creatures to fascinating, real-life creatures with unique adaptations. For instance, the colossal squid, with its enormous eyes and powerful tentacles, has captured the imagination of both scientists and the public.
While ancient sea monsters were often depicted as malevolent beings, modern interpretations are more nuanced. In literature and popular culture, sea monsters have become multifaceted characters, sometimes serving as protectors of the ocean's fragile ecosystems or representing the unknown wonders of the deep.
The evolution of sea monsters in literature and mythology reflects the ever-changing relationship between humans and the ocean. From ancient civilizations' fears of chaotic sea serpents to the allegorical monsters of the Middle Ages and the real-life marvels of the modern era, sea monsters have served as symbols of the human imagination and our evolving understanding of the natural world. As our knowledge of the ocean continues to expand, so too will our interpretations of the creatures that inhabit its depths, ensuring that sea monsters will continue to captivate our minds and inspire our stories for generations to come.

Ruby Gillman, A Lesson on Earning Moments (Spoilers)
So, I recently watched Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken. Overall, it was… well… it wasn’t particularly great. It had potential, but I would most likely prefer the fix fics that people either have written, are writing, or will write.
Now, I could say what everyone else has already said, or I could go on a tangent, but how about I just try taking one writing lesson away from the movie instead?
Today’s lesson is on earning your moments, with Ruby Gillman standing as an anti-example.
You see, when I saw the scene where Brill talks Ruby out of her obligatory “My actions made everything worse, so I’ll start moping before the final battle” moment, I flipped out.
Looking back at the scene, what he said to Ruby word-for-word was, “I could never understand why [Agatha] chose to leave the ocean. Until, I saw the awesome life she created on land. And I realized, your mom chose her own path. She chose you.”
Now, this sound like something that should come out of the tail end of a character arc. It contains an admittance of bad understanding, acknowledgement of a transformative moment, and a declaration of new ideals following said moment. Overall, it’s a summation of somebody’s character development.
You see where I’m going with this? My problem is that Brill is acting like he’s just conquered his character arc, when most of his time in the movie has been:
This
Tumblr media
This
Tumblr media
And… you get it by now
Tumblr media
My point is that with Brill’s comic relief antics dominating his character, he had no arc! So getting to say, “I didn’t get it at first, but I do now” isn’t earned in the slightest!
It wouldn’t have taken a lot to earn this moment either! He may be a dumb marshmallow, but he’s a well-meaning marshmallow! All we’d need is to have some moment which fits his character and still progresses him to the “I get it” moment that would justify his speech!
The solution would be either bonding with Agatha, or bonding with Ruby. I could see how either of those would be structured too!
For Agatha, all Brill has to do is express any emotion beyond “happy puppy” when he’s with her.
Seriously! She left home without an explanation and he makes it clear that he looks up to her! All he would need is a moment to say, “I missed you” and the conversation could take off from there!
Such a moment would force Agatha to respond and that could give Brill a chance to understand why she left. Heck, it would benefit Agatha too! Being confronted with the idea that her choices have harmed her family would force her to reflect on her actions! She could either go out of her way to justify her choices, or show some remorse at having hurt her brother’s feelings. It would be a revelatory moment that would show us how to see her character.
Sorry about the tangent, I’ll get back on topic.
The alternative to get Brill to his “I get it” moment would be to have him bond with Ruby.
What I’m thinking in particular is for him to act as a firsthand witness to Ruby and Grandmamah’s relationship. Grandmamah’s ideas of making Ruby the heir to a warrior kingdom is shown to make Ruby uncomfortable. If Brill was shown reacting to this, and if he took into account any accusations Agatha had about Grandmamah being a controlling mother, then it would have helped him have a “So this is why Agatha left” moment. That would validate a later claim that he understands that Agatha only wanted what was best for Ruby.
Overall, what I’m saying is that an emotional revelation should have emotional buildup. It makes the character’s actions flow in a logical manner, and it gives us a chance to determine their natures. But when you have the emotional revelation without the buildup, it’s jarring. If we can’t see how it happened, then it doesn’t make sense to us why it happened at all!
To sum up the lesson, take your time to give characters moments to have emotions and react to the events and ideas they’re exposed to. It’ll give moments to develop their relationships, character traits, ideologies, and most importantly, their character arcs.
If you give characters the time to become who you want them to be, we’ll get to enjoy watching it happen.

imo the most interesting takeaway from this whole booktok debacle is the role of the kraken.
i'm not on tiktok so perhaps this is old news to most people, but it's all new to me. apparently the official kraken acct responded to a surge of sexually charged hockey content from romance novel/erotica fans, by actively engaging with and encouraging it. these articles have some (glowing) coverage of the growth of kraken fandom on tiktok and reveal the general tone of the interaction between the kraken and booktok. we're talking the official account creating tiktoks about players that are very clearly thirst traps, changing the acct's description to "mostly booktok", and flying one of the leading creators of this kind of content out to a game.
i do feel for the woman who made that content and is now the target of a massive pile-on and is predictably responding badly. the kraken loved that content! flying her out to a game was an effusive request for her to continue to make her exact brand of sexually charged content so she happily obliged! no wonder she was blindsided when it turned out the player in question hated it. the kraken have now unsurprisingly quietly deleted their "booktok content" and i imagine will be swiftly distancing herself from the creator, but they asked for that content.
the whole thing is just fascinating. this seems like the latest in a series of incidents wherein a franchise's pr team decides to market the players in a way so contrary to the player's own desires, that the player publicly complains and the whole marketing policy backfires. there's this widening gulf between what the league wants players to be and who the players are. you gotta wonder if - for some players on some teams - the relationship between player and pr is now positively acrimonious.

This account is so annoying because shit like "I love getting my toes chopped off but now that I know I'm not important to him it's not fun anymore" isn’t ‘canon Izzy’ it’s a very specific headcanon and interpretation of events to make Ed seem as justified as possible and Izzy as bad as possible. Sure if you wanna believe izzy loved the kraken era right up until Ed said one mean thing in the rhino horn scene that’s your interpretation. One I would disagree with heavily but it’s your opinion fine whatever. But c’mon it’s no more canon than someone pointing out that when Ed let’s go of Izzys neck izzy is near tears and that he doesn’t seem to be having a fun time during the first toe scene. Or the rhino horn scene or that during his whole “unhealthy relationship with Blackbeard” that “all seems a bit toxic” Ed hasn’t said anything else similar to that effect.
the whole point of this blog is to create a space for people to talk about headcanons that don't conform to the canyon's (often heavily woobified) view of izzy's character and role in the story. many people who like izzy in a 'jar guy' way rather than in a canyon way have said that they don't feel able to post about him for fear of getting backlash
so the fact that this has been sent in is proof that the blog should exist in the first place. so uh thanks i guess

Is there a lesson in the middle of all of this? Can there actually be a lesson?
The easy answer that will make us all nod in agreement and move forward without thinking about it is probably “Social media is bad and we should return to grunts, gestures, smoke signals and semaphore to communicate.”
The more nuanced answer is that while social media can allow for millions to see something and be part of a larger conversation, our general inclinations towards feeling part of the in-group have only created further atomization of the 21st century person. Algorithmic based content platforms like Tiktok combined with a low-media literacy environment which has been fostered over the past 20 years by uh…just about everything…can exacerbate that to the point that can see hyper-focused niche communities create echo chambers so filled with information and noise that whatever falls out of it can actively negatively affect a person’s worldview of pretty much anything if they engage with it too frequently. People become things. Complex, messy events become flattened and over-simple. The boundaries we set for ourselves and others can be ignored.
The boundaries we set in daily life should be honored, even as the lines we keep between meatspace and the internet become blurred.
Of course, this whole thing can best be summed up through this tweet from a fanfiction writer:
this kraken drama is why we never ever cross the fourth wall! interacting with official accounts and people connected to players is always dicey, even if they seem interested in catering to fandom. if you want to survive as a sicko you must maintain these boundaries— isozyme (parody) (@isocrime) July 29, 2023
We at DJLR support Alex and Felicia during this time, and sincerely hope that you support them too.
They have been through enough as it is.

How to Start Investing in Bitcoin Safely
Tumblr media
In recent years, Bitcoin has emerged as a popular investment vehicle, attracting both seasoned investors and newcomers. Its decentralized nature and potential for high returns have made it an appealing alternative to traditional assets. However, the world of cryptocurrency can be daunting, especially for those unfamiliar with the technology. To help you navigate this landscape, we’ve put together a guide on how to start investing in Bitcoin safely.
Educate Yourself
Before diving into Bitcoin investment, it’s crucial to understand what you’re getting into. Bitcoin is a digital currency that operates on a decentralized network using blockchain technology. Take the time to learn about the fundamentals of Bitcoin and how it differs from traditional currencies. Reliable sources such as the Bitcoin whitepaper, reputable financial news websites, and educational platforms like Coursera and Khan Academy offer valuable insights.
Choose a Reliable Exchange
To buy Bitcoin, you’ll need to use a cryptocurrency exchange. Not all exchanges are created equal, so it’s important to choose one that is reputable and secure. Some well-known exchanges include Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. These platforms offer user-friendly interfaces, robust security measures, and a wide range of cryptocurrencies. Before committing, research each exchange’s fees, security features, and user reviews.
Secure Your Investments
Security should be a top priority when investing in Bitcoin. Unlike traditional financial systems, cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, and losing access to your Bitcoin can mean losing your investment permanently. Use a wallet to store your Bitcoin securely. There are several types of wallets:
Hardware Wallets: Physical devices that store your Bitcoin offline, making them highly secure against online threats.
Software Wallets: Applications you can download on your computer or mobile device. They are convenient but may be vulnerable to hacking.
Paper Wallets: Physical printouts of your Bitcoin keys. They offer high security but can be lost or damaged.
Always enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your exchange and wallet accounts for an added layer of security.
Start Small and Diversify
If you’re new to Bitcoin, it’s wise to start with a small investment. This allows you to get comfortable with the process without risking significant capital. As you gain confidence, you can gradually increase your investment. Additionally, consider diversifying your portfolio by investing in other cryptocurrencies or assets. Diversification can help spread risk and increase potential returns.
Stay Informed and Vigilant
The cryptocurrency market is constantly evolving, so it’s important to stay informed about the latest trends and developments. Follow reputable news sources, join online communities, and participate in forums to keep up-to-date. Be cautious of common scams such as phishing attacks, Ponzi schemes, and fake exchanges. Always verify the authenticity of any platform or offer before committing your money.
Conclusion
Investing in Bitcoin can be a rewarding venture if approached with caution and knowledge. By educating yourself, choosing a reliable exchange, securing your investments, starting small, and staying informed, you can navigate the world of Bitcoin safely. Take the first step today and begin your journey towards financial independence with Bitcoin.
