what are your non-spoilery thoughts on eow so far?? i’m curious about it but trying to decide if it’s worth dropping $60 or not

I've been having a great time. To be completely fair, I haven't experienced the full story but the bits and pieces I have seen have left me incredibly intrigued and excited for what the rest of the game may hold. There really are a lot of options when it comes to echoes. I feel like everyone's play style will be pretty unique because you have a lot of choices. I have run into enemies where the echo I was using just didn't quite cut it so had to switch to something else. I like that you can try overwhelming things with smaller monster echoes or pick one that costs more but doesn't go down as easily. Also it was really smart of Nintendo to make you fight a monster and kill it to get the echo. This way you have a sense of what it's weak against and what is weak against it. They also give you a lot of echoes from the get go. It's pretty immediate that you have a lot of options and you are rewarded for exploring caves and sections that have new monsters. The warp function is pretty forgiving, there are a lot of warp spots. Also there doesn't seem to be fall damage which I'm happy about because I'm not the best at judging distances and have already fallen off in the rift sections. Overall, so far I feel it's pretty nice to casual players but I'm also in the beginning so I have yet to understand the full difficulty. Yup. That's it right now.

I'm genuinely curious about how long you plan on keeping these countups going bc you're doing a much better job at committing to this than I ever could

First off, thank you for the compliment. I think I’m doing a better job committing than I even expected of myself.

Second, my current plan is pretty much indefinite countup. This has become part of my daily routine and I love being able to share so much cool art. I love scrolling through the tags and saving things to my drafts. People have expressed their thanks to me for keeping track of the days and sheer amazement at seeing how far time has marched on. Every day is a new day, a new number. I get to spend a moment each day appreciating that I’m alive, that I’ve come so far, that there are so many passionate people in the fandom, and that we are all connected across the globe in this small way. A love we all share for LOZ. It’s nice. I don’t wanna give that up.

So yeah. I hope that answers your question, anon. I’ll stop when I die or when tumblr dies. Whichever comes first.
