Heartslabyul Boys Playing Monster Hunter Headcanons
Heeeyyy so Monster Hunter is like one of my other passions I absolutely love these games so I figured why not assign the boys weapons and playstyles haha I’m planning on doing some for all of the houses but enjoy these are going to get stupid
I’m going to be basing these on Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate sets bc you know I’m saying it now the MHW sets are boring and I want some gotdamn joke weapons up in here.
So it’s time to depart on the hunt!
Riddle (Sword and Shield)
He’s actually...really freaking good at this game
Has probably memorized all of the weaknesses for every monster and has an elemental weapon and armor for everything (his usual go-to being, unsurprisingly, fire. He likes the Djinn line)
Alatreon is the bane of his existence though he still doesn’t get how it works lmao
He normally just does Guild style or sometimes Striker
Either way he slaps on some Affinity or Part Breaker Oil and goes fERAL on the monster
Brings everything he needs + materials to make more of everything
Mostly hunts alone, gets angry when people die for stupid reasons (although sometimes he has to admit that yeah, it was the game)
Has cleared just about all of the Village Quests
Ace (Great Sword)
It’s....questionable if he actually knows how his weapon of choice works
He does know that its big and has a really high attack stat and he likes that
He wants to set off the bombs though. Every time. Every. Time.
Uses Valor style because its free dodges when done right.
Has died because of Valor style (it burns health and stamina)
Always forgets Hot/Cold Drinks
Has absolutely tried to kick a monster to make it stop an attack. Sometimes it actually works
Can’t aim flash/sonic/tranquilizer bombs for shit
Currently runs the Golem Blade line
Deuce (Gunlance)
Still coming to grips with the heating system but he’s getting there
Has poked a monster in the butt and then laughed about it before the monster smashed his hunter into the ground
Overprepares but always forgets something. Usually that he needs bag space for carves and stuff.
Guild style. Simple, easy and you get two hunter arts. Uses it for explosions.
Usually runs the Sleeper Blaster line, but has also put a lot of materials and time into the Kamak Gunlance and Cornpopper lines.....he’s just waiting for the right time to take these stupid things out.
Hides behind his shield a lot and is thankful for its existence. Abuses it a lot to try to avoid damage.
Freaks out when his hunter gets grabbed.
Burns through healing items like no tomorrow
Cater (Insect Glaive)
Really likes the Magia Pitareen and Fox Halberd lines. They’re both Cutting Kinsects too so he can swap stuff around. (you’re free to laugh at Magia if you want but that thing makes shit explode)
Actually runs Alchemy style with non-meme intentions. If you see a hunter stomping around shaking a barrel its Cater’s.
Takes waaaayyyyy too many screenshots. Saves all of his killing blow shots too.
Fashion hunter. Armor stats don’t matter to him but he wants to look good. Also spends a long time customizing his hunter’s appearance even though no one can see it most of the time.
Knocks over the others’ hunters a lot, much to their annoyance
Spends more time trying to get his extracts than hitting the monster. The rest is spent vaulting to try to mount the monster
Trey (Hammer)
Aerial style for maximum chaos. Spends most of his time on the monster’s back
Purposefully KOs the monster at the worst possible times but also does it for fun and profit
Will also knock his teammates into the air on purpose. For fun. He thinks its funny. It also makes people mad.
Is actually also good at the game. Saves his hunter art for the best possible moment then sets it off. Also tries to at least match his weapon to the weakness.
His favorite weapon is the Accelerated Hammer line, but has some of the joke ones for the “what the fuck” factor (namely the Cactus Creamer and the Black Frying Pan lines)
Blows up bombs while Ace is preparing to do it. Might also wake up the monster.
Does sleep bomb when he’s alone though he knows that’s the good stuff.

Dipper 3rd–5th century
Moche
Moche cornpoppers, or dippers, have a lenticular body and a handle attached to one side. Whereas some handles have a hornlike shape, most have a human or animal head at the extremity. The shape of these vessels was perhaps derived from similar containers made of bottle gourd. Cornpoppers are rarely found in domestic contexts. They were used as funerary offerings and probably as drinking vessels during rituals. Many cornpoppers were discovered in spacious rooms on top of the monumental platform at Huancaco, in the Virú valley. They were associated with large jars designed to store corn beer. The back of this particular vessel represents a Moche major deity with its characteristic fanged mouth, semicircular headdress, snake-head earspools, and octopus tentacles radiating from the head.
