CONTROLLER NANITES

SWARMING U.N. HQ!

On Friday, March 21st the supervillain known as the Controller unleashed a sinister cloud of nanites in the United Nations Headquarters Gardens which spread into the General Assembly and out into New York City.

Fortunately, a task-force of super-heroes and SHIELD agents that have been tracking the Controller intervened in time to prevent the spread of mind-control devices throughout the city.

The presence of the Controller at the United Nations was detected by Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four who immediately put out a call for assistance.  Quickly the joint taskforce gathered, consisting of: Agent Sexton, Agent Watts, Firestar, Invisible Woman, Kal Blackbane, Kid Raiden, Prime V Alloy, Scarlet Spider, the New Spider-Man, the Wasp, and even the Greek Goddess Athena.

Once the heroes arrived at the United Nations Headquarters they were confronted by a group of International superheroes consisting of:  Adamantine, the leader of Les Heroes de Paris, representing France; the Collective Man, member of the People's Defense Force of China;  Darkstar of Russia's Winter Guard; Spitfire of Britain's MI-13; Sunpyre of Japan's Big Hero Six, and US Agent, representing the United States.  It was quickly realized that these heroes were being mind-controlled by the Controller, when super-villains Carnage and Kraven the Hunter joined them in attacking the task-force!

As the fighting began, the New Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider squared off with Carnage in a brutal battle around the famous "Swords into Plowshares" statue.  Meanwhile, the SHIELD agents confronted Kraven the Hunter on the other side of the garden.

Little Heroes take on China's 'Gulliver'. Adamantine swoops in!

Invisible Woman and Wasp clashed with US Agent and Sunpyre, until US Agent was finally outfought by the Wasp's superior manoeuvrability and firepower.  And Sunpyre's fire manipulation powers proved no match for the Invisible Woman's force fields, as she was easily able to cut of the Japanese hero's air supply, and thus her flames.

Firestar was attacked by Adamantine, but quickly realized that he was struggling against being mind-controlled.   After several fierce minutes of struggle, Firestar was able to help Adamantine snap out of the mind-control, and the French super-hero rocketed off into the sky.  Then Firestar was able to deliver the finishing blow to Russian hero Darkstar, bringing her down by a precise fire blast.

Kal Blackbane, the Midnight Blade was engaged by British speedster Spitfire, and although at first he seemed to suffer beneath her flurry of super-speed punches, in the end he was able to take her out with a well-timed hoof to the head!

Kid Raiden and Prime V Alloy concentrated on the Collective Man who had grown to giant size!  At one point, witnesses claim seeing Kid Raiden clinging to the Chinese hero's face, while Prime V Alloy delivered a powerful blow to his leg.  Soon, the Collective Man was overcome, and lay unconscious on the lawn, now in the form of five identical men, instead of one huge adversary!

Despite the brave efforts of the heroes, the Controller's plan worked.  While the heroes were kept busy fighting, the villain was able to release his mind-control nanites into the air!

Invisible Woman tried to contain the nanite cloud, but was forced to release it as Kid Raiden faced a robot duplicate of the Controller near the nanite delivery equipment.  Kal Blackbane was able to destroy the equipment with one mighty blow from his singularity sword.  And Kid Raiden seriously damaged the robot with a surge of electricity!  From out of nowhere the Greek goddess Athena appeared and took off the robot's head with one incredible punch!  But the damage had been done and the mind-control nanites had already spread into the United Nations Building and across New York.

The heroes quickly retreated back the Baxter Building where Mister Fantastic was able to extract nanite samples from Kid Raiden's body. Then with the assistance of Athena, Reed Richards was able to disable all of the nanites in the New York area, with an encoded pulse that hacked into the nanoscopic robots and instructed them to dismantle themselves.

Authorities are assuring the public that Mister Fantastic's pulse was successful in removing all nanites in the area, but are also urging anyone to  report suspicious activity to local law enforcement.  While the Controller still remains at large, Fantastic Four representatives say that they are getting closer to locating the supervillain with each consecutive attack.
