Here are 10 2024 election day races I'll be watching other than the big one. For the record, just because I want to fuck someone, does not mean I'd vote for someone. Unlike emotionally weak people, I can differentiate between the two.
10. West Virginia Gubernatorial Matchup
Incumbent Jim Justice cannot run for re-election in 2024 due to term limits. But I'll get to him later on the list.
Steve Williams (D) vs Patrick Morrisey (R)
Kinda a toss up here as I could live with either one. BUT… if I had to pick, it's going to be Williams. Although I prefer the big boys like Morrisey, Steve is better looking. But going by the polls, Morrisey is the next governor of West Virginia.
9. Maryland Senate Matchup
Incumbent Ben Cardin not running for re-election in 2024.
Angela Alsobrooks (D) vs Larry Hogan (R)
Well… I'm rooting for Hogan here mainly for the thing I had for him. But the the polls have Alsobrooks taking the seat here.
8. Rhode Island Senate Matchup
Incumbent Sheldon Whitehouse (D) vs Patricia Morgan (R)
According to the polls, Whitehouse's seat is safe.
7. Virginia Senate Matchup
Hung Cao (R) vs Incumbent Tim Kaine (D)
According to the polls, it could be a close race, but I think Kaine's seat is safe. Which is good as expect big things from in the future. Maybe another vice presidency run?
6. California House Matchup
Will Rollins (D) vs Ken Calvert (R)
An openly gay man vs a closeted gay man. Allegedly. Allegedly. According to the polls, it's a toss up.
5. Nebraska House Matchup
Don Bacon (R) vs Tony Vargas (D)
I'm rooting for Bacon here. Why you ask? He's handsome. Plus he has a nice set of man tits. And I love tits. Sadly, the polls say he's behind.
4. Missouri Gubernatorial Matchup
Incumbent Mike Parson cannot run for re-election in 2024 due to term limits. Sad as I love Mike.
Mike Kehoe (R) vs Crystal Quade (D)
Mike has it in the bag according to the polls.
3. West Virginia Senate Matchup
Incumbent Joe Manchin not running for re-election in 2024.
Aww… I barely got to know ya.
Jim Justice (R) vs Glenn Elliott (D)
Justice is ahead big. Just like the rest of him.
2. Texas Senate Matchup
Incumbent Ted Cruz (R) vs Colin Allred (D)
According to the polls, this one will be tight. Like I want Ted's ass to be. That right, I'm rooting for Cruz. I know a lot of you hate him, but I still want to leave my goo in him.
1. Montana Senate Matchup
Tim Sheehy (R) vs Incumbent Jon Tester (D)
Currently, Jon is behind. But hopefully he'll pull it out in the end. Something I thought I'd never say about Jon.

Did I never post this??? Found it in a folder and then searched my posts and apparently I didn't.
Anyway...
My Notes While Watching Daredevil 2003
First, the NYC building lights changing to braille, changing to text? Cool.
DD draped around the cross? Iconic.
DD splatting on the floor of the church? Typical.
My kiddo giggled.
Me: Oh Matty, you're so good at superheroing...
Oh wow, the young!Matt actor looks shockingly like Charlie Cox. Even more so than the kid in the Netflix series (which is fine though, that kid was a hell of an actor!)
Is his dad already retired from boxing at this point?
Special effects for Matt's senses is pretty cool. Possibly better than the 'world on fire' stuff in the series.
Ah, I see. Jack is going back to boxing, to get out from under Fallon's thumb?
No Stick? He's training himself?
Parkour!Matt
Oh damn, he's there in person? Hearing the whole murder?
OK this is all a little over-dramatic.
TF? He's in a sensory isolation tank? Weirdo.
Yikes, that is truly some hair.
LOL, Foggy is Happy Hogan, OMG.
Matt is a little too uptight for my liking. Maybe he'll feel better after punching somebody.
Woah, he's gonna start something in front of all those people? No back alley? Dude, at least take him out to the hallway...
Fuck. Flashing lights. There wasn't even a warning on this.
And apparently no descriptive audio??? Fail. HBO. Absolute fail.
Got my kiddo to tell me when the flashing lights were over. God I hate that shit. My head was already splitting.
Woah. Did he just let that guy die???
No no no. He left a calling card? Who is this? #NotmyMatthew.
He has a secret lair? And/or his apartment is in the church crypt? What even...
Why does Heather sound like she's calling from the 80s?
He just pulled out a tooth. Gross.
Wait wait wait... He *sleeps* in the isolation tank? Dramatic bitch.
Oh, they went full 'Irish priest' on the priest, huh? Irritating. Offensive.
Matt really is uptight. And do he and Foggy even like each other?
Oh its the hot girl radar.
Aaaaaand we get our first blind joke as Foggy has a coronary in the background. This feels more normal.
Oh, Matt, creepy stalker is not a good look.
WTF is this? In broad daylight? I assume this is Elektra?
Did not like any of that.
Well here we have someone who is obviously Fisk. Smarmy looking weasel is Wesley?
Mr. Natchios *daughter* would willingly and easily take your head off, Wilson.
Bullseye is a skinhead? A skinhead who is also Colin Farrell. OK then.
Oh look, finally a good fucking hallway.
You're not the bad guy, huh? You just stand in the rain like a sad puppy and convince yourself.
I love how Foggy assumes he's the plus one.
Why does Foggy put up with him being like that?
Self pity?? Get ahold of yourself Matthew.
"What happens to that lie detector of yours when it detects your own bullshit?"
Good question Fog.
Foggy has to know about his senses then, yeah? But it doesn't seem like he knows about Daredevil? That's... strange.
Oh god, it's the rain trope.
Definitely prefer the boxing ring sex scene. This is boring. Zero chemistry. Possibly because Ben Affleck has no emotional range.
Party time.
All the cigarettes and cigars must be hell for Matt.
Eww, he *sniffed* her. My Matt would never.
Aaaaaand the glasses trope. And now we're sad about his blindness. Gross.
Fight time!
Meh.
Oh damn, that was unexpected. Are we going to pit Elektra against Daredevil now?
Damn, more flashing lights.
Time for guilt and self flagellation...
No no no no.... It's Evanescence, I can no longer take this movie seriously.
Matthew left his billy club behind like an amateur.
Also, I just realized his cane is really short. Like... really short. That's weird. His sighted guide technique seems inconsistent too. Somebody needed more practice.
More Evanescence. Please send help.
Elektra's training montage looks like it was copied straight from BTVS. Could easily have been Eliza Dushku in that scene. In fact, maybe Eliza Dushku would have been better.
Well now what, kids? She's just gonna believe him that it wasn't his fault? Could we get a little emotion from these people?
Bullseye & Elektra fight! And it's over real fast.
Oh no, really? Is she getting fridged? Shit. That's disappointing. I wanted a full-on team-up to take down Kingpin.
Apparently Matt's radar has been knocked out a bit.
I dislike the smugness of this Bullseye. Our Dex was somehow more sympathetic, even if he was a horrible person. Granted, when is Colin Farrell ever sympathetic?
They really went for actors who refuse to emote. It's a whole theme here.
Oh damn, using the church bells against Matt? Clever.
None of these fights are doing it for me.
Damn, Wilson is just gonna Hulk smash our baby.
The lightning is killing me. And now with way too much rain. Like visual snow. Sensory nightmare. Can't even watch this fight.
Mr. Fisk, you've just made yourself an archenemy.
This is better Matt and Foggy banter. I guess Matt got some stuff out of his system. Apparently he's not that sad about Elektra?
Oh, that's a nice t-shirt.
Urich, you aren't gonna out him are you?
Nah, I didn't think so.
Woah. A mid-credits scene? That's a surprise. I recently watched The Incredible Hulk, and mentioned to kiddo that the final scene felt like it should have been a mid-credits scene. But I said that was less of a thing at the time. But this is even older. Weird.
OK. Thoughts. I feel like the entire script needed more editing. I feel like it didn't do enough to make Matt likeable. I needed more Foggy & Matt friendship and less snarking. Idk if part of it was Ben Affleck's acting, making Matt too stoic?
Elektra was incredibly disappointing. Especially the fridging. Yikes. Way to really counteract any build-up of the character and the little bit of agency she had, just to take her out like that. She should have been way more formidable.
There was definitely some cringey moments of ableism and stale blind tropes that easily could have been avoided if they'd had someone read the script with that in mind.
I've lost all respect for Joss Whedon over the years, but I feel like back in 2003, if he'd had the opportunity to edit this script, it would have been better. I kept looking at how they played Elektra, and all of the church imagery and stuff, and it felt almost like a knock-off of Buffy/Angel. So if you're going that route, just get the guy who knows how to do it successfully, right?
Anyway, it scratched a bit of the Daredevil itch. But there was a lot that I feel like could have been so much better with a little more effort on the script, and maybe a few different acting/directing choices.
And it could have had 100% fewer flashing light scenes. Damn, I really didn't remember movies being that bad about that in the early 2000s.
Speaking of the early 2000s, how about that soundtrack, huh? Ode to 2003 pop radio, lol. I had flashbacks to the office I worked in at the time and how the radio station was playing Evanescence like every third song all day long.

DAredevil thoughts part 1
1.Ah stylized credits ,as was the fashion of superhero movie openings at that time
2.so they give Colin Farrel the "And" credit and I dunno ,I think he should be billed third instead of Michael Clark Duncan, simply cause I recall Farrell being in the movie more .Also "And Michael Clark Duncan as the Kingpin " sounds more badass then"And Colin Farrell as Bullseye "
3.I dunno how I feel about the film begining in media res and being an extended narrated flashback
4.BEst version of Daredevils radar sense I have seen ,I like the use of blue
5.So I am not a Daredevil expert ,and I know he was added during the Frank Millar run ,so he hasnt always been apart of Daredevils orgin....But it feels so weird Stick isnt in this movie being Matts mentor
6.Matt stopping Stan Lee from crossing the road is one of my favorite cameos Stan made
7.This is the most 2000'sy soundtrack ever .I kind of love that
8.So while some of the refrences to marvel artists and writers is cute (Kevin Smith plays a character namesd after Jack Kirby and many of the boxers Matts dad faced are named after John Romita,Frank Miller,Brian Michael Bendis, etc ).....naming a rapist after Joe Quesada feels mean and odd
9.It is so weird seeing Jon Favereau in a non MCU Marvel movie. Also weird seeing him playing another put upon sidekick to a superhero , here being pretty perfectly cast as Foggy Nelson ,while in the MCU he is Happy Hogan
10.This movie wants to be both Blade and Spider-Man and you cant be both

All 435 Representative seats are up for election (as they are every two years).
Every state is not a contested Senate state - every state doesn't even have senators running in this election. They're elected for 6 years each, in 2-year cycles.
34 Senate seats are up for election this year. 23 of those are currently held by Democrats or Independents, so the Republicans will be pushing hard to get one or two of them and take control of the Senate.
The grey states have no one in the running; there is no way to influence their existing senator balance.
Spots to watch:
West Virginia - Joe Manchin (I, former D) is stepping down; the state leans strongly red and pro-Trump, so this is one to push for activism. Glenn Elliott is the new Democratic candidate. He's running against Jim Justice, the current governor there, and the polls are not in Elliott's favor.
Montana - Jon Tester (D) - Another Democrat in a red state; the only one who holds statewide office in Montana. He's running for re-election against Sheehy.
Ohio - Sherrod Brown (D) running for re-election. Brown is a strong progressive; his opponent is Moreno, who is Trump's pick.
Nevada - Jacky Rosen (D) running for re-election. She's a first-term senator, and Nevada has been tilting blue but isn't strongly there. She's ahead of her opponent (Sam Brown) 47%-40% by some accounts, but almost tied at 41% each in others.
Arizona - Krysten Sinema (I) is stepping downn; Ruben Gallego is the Democrat running against Kari Lake, and numbers are so far in his favor.
Michigan - Debbie Stablenow (D) is retiring; Elissa Slotkin is very likely to be selected to run for her spot. Republicans haven't won a senator's race in Michigan for 30 years, but Trump is popular there. The likely R candidate is Rogers; polls have her about 9 points ahead of him.
Pennsylvania - Bob Casey (D) is running against McCormick; Casey is solidly leading in the polls.
Wisconsin - Tammy Baldwin (D) is likely going against Hovde - and while state polls put Trump ahead of Biden (...hah, those numbers are now all useless), she has a 5-pt lead in the polls.
Maryland - Angela Alsobrooks (D) won the nomination to go after retiring Ben Cardin's spot. This would be a non-competitive race (Biden was up 30 points in the last election), but she's running against a former governor, Larry Hogan. Hogan is trying to call himself a moderate; his track record doesn't show that.
Texas - Ted Cruz (R) is the incumbent; Colin Allred is his competition, and it's looking like a fairly close race - recent polls are 47/44 in favor of Cruz, but that's within the range of change.
This has a map with all the races:
even if you're resigned that trump is going to win, 1/3 of the country lives in states with competitive senate elections. if democrats win the senate, there is very little that trump can do (can't even appoint supreme court nominees)
the following states all have competitive senate elections:
arizona
florida
maryland
michigan
montana
nevada
ohio
pennsylvania
texas
wisconsin
even if you don't think your state is competitive at all, THESE SENATE RACES STILL ARE, SO IF YOU LIVE IN ONE OF THESE STATES, MAKE SURE TO VOTE
and even if you don't live in one of those states, you could live in a competitive house seat. if democrats win the house, then trump can't pass any bills
and even if you don't live in a competitive state or district, your local elections matter even more than federal ones because they have a much more direct impact on your life
so VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE

Former President Donald J. Trump drew criticism from several fellow Republicans on Sunday for his demeaning insults of Vice President Kamala Harris, a day after he called her “mentally disabled” and “mentally impaired” at a rally.
Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, pushed back on Mr. Trump’s remarks on Sunday. “I just think the better course to take is to prosecute the case that her policies are destroying the country,” Mr. Graham said on CNN, adding that he did not think Ms. Harris was crazy but did think her policies were.
Representative Tom Emmer — a Minnesota Republican who has been helping Senator JD Vance of Ohio, Mr. Trump’s running mate, prepare for his upcoming debate — also sought to distance himself from Mr. Trump’s personal attacks. “I think we should stick to the issues,” Mr. Emmer said on ABC News.
Larry Hogan, a former Republican governor of Maryland who is currently running for the Senate, offered a sharper rebuke.
“I think that’s insulting not only to the vice president, but to people that actually do have mental disabilities,” Mr. Hogan, who has often criticized Mr. Trump in the past, said on CBS News. “I’ve said for years that Trump’s divisive rhetoric is something we can do without.”
Steven Cheung, the communications director for the Trump campaign, did not directly address Mr. Trump’s insults or the critical responses they had prompted. He instead argued that Ms. Harris’s record on immigration and border security made her “wholly unfit to serve as president.”
In a statement, Mr. Cheung added that “her abhorrent dereliction of duty” at the border allowed criminals to “pour into our country to terrorize communities.”
Mr. Trump has long made personal attacks against Ms. Harris, even as some campaign advisers and Republican allies have urged him to stick to bread-and-butter policy issues that appeal to large swaths of voters. He has often demeaned her and questioned her racial identity, but at a rally in Prairie du Chien, Wis., on Saturday, he escalated those attacks, with a series of insults questioning her mental fitness.
“Joe Biden became mentally impaired,” Mr. Trump said. “Kamala was born that way.”
Mr. Trump’s remarks — which he himself described as “dark” — came a day after Ms. Harris delivered one of her party’s toughest speeches in a generation on immigration and border security. Mr. Trump repeated some of the insults at a rally Sunday afternoon in Erie, Pa., saying “there’s something wrong with Kamala.”
Democrats also seized on his comments. Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois criticized Mr. Trump’s remarks as “name-calling” on CNN.
“Whenever he says things like that, he’s talking about himself but trying to project it onto others,” Mr. Pritzker said.
Eric Holder, the former attorney general who served in the Obama administration, went further, suggesting that Mr. Trump’s comments indicated “cognitive decline.”
“Trump made a great deal of the cognitive abilities of Joe Biden,” Mr. Holder said on MSNBC. “If this is where he is now, where is he going to be three and four years from now?”
After Mr. Trump’s remarks on Saturday, the Harris campaign declined to comment on his personal attacks. A campaign spokeswoman, Sarafina Chitika, said in a statement that Mr. Trump offered “darkness” to voters rather than inspiration.
Just hours after Mr. Trump made the remarks, “Saturday Night Live” was joking about them as it opened its 50th season. “I cannot believe that Trump admitted he lost the debate to a mentally disabled person,” Colin Jost said on the show’s “Weekend Update” segment.
The American Association of People with Disabilities, a nonpartisan advocacy group, criticized Mr. Trump’s comments as both inaccurate and harmful.
“Trump holds the ableist, false belief that if a person has a disability, they are less human and less worthy of dignity,” Maria Town, the group’s president and chief executive, said in a statement. “Presidential history indicates that we’ve had many presidents who had disabilities.”

Book Review - The Phoenix Ballroom by Ruth Hogan
Little note: I received an ARC from a contest, but I hadn't gotten around to reading it until now, but all opinions are my own.
A lovely, cozy read that brings together so many lonely characters into one warm family. I adored Venetia and her spunk, completely refusing to be labeled into the elderly and helpless box just because of her age. Liberty and the slow but gradual way she found her own voice instead of letting things pass her by. Swan was absolutely hilarious, I've never thought I would see a person so much like the bird, but that older lady was an absolute hoot but also sweet in her own way too. Colin Firth, the rescued German Shepherd, stole my heart though with his fuzziness. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I greatly disliked the solution to the secret left behind by Venetia's departed husband, which led to a secret life and relationship he held for years, and the whole thing felt a little unnecessary and like someone was checking off a box to make sure that certain themes were included, but still a great read.

Ship ideas or wishlists for Maria for the verses you have maybe? Canon and OC ofc
//Oooohhhh this is an excellent question.... uhm okay, I think this is a bit hard for me because I've had Maria so long and some ships like I adore but I don't know if they'd work with other rpers (i.e not the originals). I'm also not massively open about canon characters I could ship her with because I don't want anyone to feel.... pressure so to speak. The questions come up though so let's put my fears aside and go for it. I've also not added any canon characters that I'm already writing.
I'm not going to specify Original Characters because honestly just throw them all at me. I've divided the canon characters up by fandom but then I've put general scenarios at the bottom!
Bond!Verse I don't really have any additional ships that I'm like hungry for..... Marvel RP Verse
Canon Characters: Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner, James Rhodey, Happy Hogan, Loki, Bucky, Yondu, Strange, Alexei, Ego, The Grandmaster, Hank McCoy, Logan, Colossus,
Batman RP Verse
Canon Characters: Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent, Harvey Bullock, Jim Gordon, The Penguin (Colin Farrell specifically), Alfred Pennyworth, Zod, Ares.
Game of Thrones RP Verse
Canon Characters: Bronn, Sandor Clegane, Tywin Lannister, Tyrion, Jorah, Tormund, Petyr Baelish
Bridgerton RP Verse
Canon Characters: Benedict is honestly the only one that comes to mind for Bridgerton in terms of who people would actually play and the characters we've seen canon wise.....
General - From a variety of franchises
Canon Characters: Archie Hopper (OUAT), Sherlock (BBC Sherlock), Lestrade (BBC Sherlock), Hook (Hook), Giles (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Barbossa (Pirates of the Caribbean) - There have to be so many more. Various monsters - Vampires/Dracula, Werewolves, Frankensteins, Aliens...
Star Trek RP Verse (Though I haven't rewritten this verse yet). - Movie based/Original Series/Enterprise
Canon Characters: Leonard McCoy, Spock, Scotty, Phlox, Archer, Khan.
The Boys RP Verse
Canon Characters: Homelander, Billy Butcher, Hugh Campbell (YES Hughie's dad).
